Over five days from April 29 th to May 3 rd , the Greek Yachting Association and the Municipality of Nafplion will host the 2023 Mediterranean Yacht Show, a display of the world’s best crewed charter yachts gathering in one of the most beautiful charter destinations of Europe, Greece.

Mediterranean Yacht Show 2022

Over 90 yachts are expected to be on display, complemented by exhibitors from across the yachting industry, ranging from suppliers of the latest equipment and gadgets to provisioners and interior design experts. Plus the annual Chef Competition is back by popular demand where yacht chefs go head to head and put their talent and creativity to the test, judged by an esteemed panel.

We are delighted to bring you a glimpse of some of the most exciting yachts attending the show this year.

M/Y O’PTASIA | 85m (278 ‘) | Golden Yachts | 11 staterooms

Superyacht O’PTASIA

Built in 2018, this stunning mega yacht represents the absolute top end of the yacht charter market. Guests can arrive in style by helicopter and land on the upper deck or board at the stern onto the beach club which will be set up with stylish contemporary sun loungers. Al fresco entertainment space is on offer across the four deck levels including dining settings, sociable seating areas and a 6m swimming pool surrounded by sun pads.

The interior is designed around a grand central lobby with an elevator which leads to the two salons and 11 luxury suites. A huge crew of 26 are on board to take care of every detail throughout a charter.

Super yacht O’EVA

Originally built in 2009 and completed refitted and relaunched in 2023 this impressive super yacht features a bespoke Whisper Grey hull and Matterhorn White superstructure which gleams from top to bottom. An exhaustive list of water toys, 360° view jacuzzi, bar and BBQ on the sun deck will keep guests entertained on and off the water throughout their charter.

Meanwhile inside, the classic contemporary design is characterised by amber and dark wood tones in the salons and soft grey neutrals with blue throughout the staterooms. There are 7 staterooms including a half-deck owners suite with observation lounge (which can be turned into an additional double cabin).

M/Y GECO | 55.20m (181 ’10 “) | Admiral | 6 staterooms

Super yacht GECO

An outstanding contemporary charter yacht packed with the latest technology and luxury amenities. Built by Admiral Yachts in 2020, she presents with an impressive stern beach club with huge elevated central sun pads, sun deck jacuzzi and designer interior. A touch-and-go helipad, choice of al fresco dining plus a wide range of water toys provide a wealth of entertainment possibilities.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests in six fabulous ensuite staterooms including a main deck master plus a VIP, two double and two twins on the lower deck. Guests will be looked after on board throughout their charter by a professional crew of thirteen.

S/Y BARACUDA VALLETTA | 50.00m (164 ‘) | Perini Navi | 5 staterooms

Sailing yacht BARACUDA VALLETTA

The largest sailing yacht at this year’s show is recognisable from her purple sails and Perini Navi trademark deckhouse lines and long flybridge. She boasts a state-of-the-art sailing system, canting keel which adjusts the draft from 4m to 9.7m and a hydraulic swim platform.

Her interior was designed by British architect John Pawson, the guru of modern minimalism and aligns to the philosophy of extreme simplicity reflected in the light, space and proportions throughout. Five ensuite staterooms can accommodate up to 10 guests with additional accommodation for the nine experienced crew.

Nafplio Port - 9th Mediterranean Yacht Show, April 27th to May 1st 2024

Widely recognized as the largest exhibition of professional crewed luxury yachts in the world and one of the most significant annual events in the global yachting industry, the Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) returns to Nafplio for the ninth time. The 9th MEDYS is scheduled to take place from Saturday, April 27th to Wednesday, May 1st 2024. Save the date!

The capital of Argolis becomes the epicenter of marine tourism for 5 days, hosting in its picturesque harbor a multitude of impressive, luxury leisure boats and their crews. The Mediterranean Yacht Show, which is organized by the  Greek Yachting Association  (GYA) with the support of the Municipality of Nafplio, is recognized as the most important show of its kind worldwide. It offers the opportunity to an international audience of charter brokers to see closely the vessels available for chartering in Greece and throughout the Eastern Mediterranean, to meet their crews and learn about the features and options they offer. The Mediterranean Yacht Show is an important event in the yachting agenda, because of the large number of participating vessels, the excellent level of services it offers and the idyllic location that hosts it. The contribution of the MEDYS in the growth and development of yachting tourism in Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean is unquestionable, with each year attracting greater global interest from industry professionals. The exhibition brings together central agents, brokers and exhibitors with yachting services and products, placing Greek marine tourism at a global focus.

Chefs' Competition The Chefs' Competition will also be returning in 2024 to challenge the creativity, talent and skills of the yacht chefs. "Zero Waste" was the theme for 2023: it raised the bar and there is already anticipation, seasoned with a little healthy anxiety, for next year. The judging panel will, as always, be stellar and the organizers have lost no time in reaching out to restaurant chefs, who are cooking up a storm in the culinary world. It takes talent to recognize talent, as they say... A schedule of social events, including receptions and parties, will add a further dimension to the show, aiming to offer an experience, that is both productive and pleasurable. The Mediterranean Yacht Show takes place in Nafplio, Greece at the beginning of the Mediterranean’s summer season. This show is a targeted trade show for yachting professionals specialised in charter yachts.

It is the biggest yacht show in the Mediterranean of its kind. Over 100 yachts are displayed on the waterfront of the magnificent town of Nafplio and presented to the brokers and industry members by their crews and management teams. The yachts vary in size and style, from smaller catamarans to large super yachts. All are available for charters in the Mediterranean.

The Mediterranean Yacht Show is set to make its return to the picturesque town of Nafplion for its 9th edition in 2024, reaffirming its status as the world's largest luxury crewed yacht charter show.

Organized by the Greek Yachting Association (GYA), with the support of the Municipality of Nafplio, the Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) is scheduled to take place in Greece from April 27th to May 1st, 2024.

MEDYS is one of the most significant annual events in the global yachting industry and has earned its reputation as one of the most vital shows in the Mediterranean , arming all attendees with a wealth of valuable information and unparalleled insight into the world of  Greek luxury charter yachting.

With show-goers hailing from 31 different countries, the event attracts over 750 yachting professionals who have the opportunity to explore Greek-licensed charter yachts, meet their skilled crews, and discover an array of services and products.

The previous edition, which opened its doors in April 2023, featured an impressive fleet of 92 yachts, collectively spanning a remarkable length of 3.5 kilometers and the 2024 edition is expected to be just as popular, attracting charter brokers and yachting industry professionals from across the globe to witness the impressive line-up of gleaming superyachts as they gear up for a busy summer charter season ahead.

Mediterranean Yacht Show Returns to Nafplio

Nafpilo will again host the Mediterranean Yacht Show.

The Greek port of Nafplio will once again host the Mediterranean Yacht Show .

Organized by the Greek Yachting Association, the event will take place from Saturday, April 17 to Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Billed as the world’s largest luxury crewed yacht charter show in the world, the show is also seen as an important player in shifting attention towards the eastern Med. The show is meant to attract solely the upper echelons of the yachting world; it is  open on ly to yachts 24 metrers and longer.

According to organizers, the 2023 show featured 92 yachts and, due to the port of Nafpilo’s space limitations, an impressive waiting list. Returning in 2024 will be events such as the show’s popular Chefs’ Competition.

Situated in the northwestern corner of the Arg ic Gulf in Greece’s Peloponnese region, the historic port city of Nafplio is a major Greek tourist destination.

Record number of yachts on display at Mediterranean Yacht Show

Now in its eighth edition, the Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) welcomed a record fleet of charter yachts to Nafplio, in Greece’s Argolic Gulf. Hosted by the Greek Yachting Association (GYA), the five-day charter show proved the “most successful show” to date with 92 yachts with a combined LOA of 3.5 kilometres and more than 750 visitors from 31 countries in attendance.

Marking the start of the Mediterranean season, before each of the attending yachts embark on their busy charter seasons around Greece and the wider Mediterranean, there was a sublime assortment of vessels on display including the 45-metre, Bella Stella, 73.5-metre Lady Vera and 85-metre O’Ptasia.

The president of the GYA, Michael Skoulikidis explained that the yacht now has a waitlist for those looking to attend. “The last three shows (2019, 2022 and this year) have been very good and in full capacity,” he explained. “In these three years we had a waiting list; and this year there was a waiting list of 30 yachts over 24 metres.”

Open to yachts chartering in Greek waters, there were a wide range of exhibiting brokers including IYC, Burgess, Atalanta Golden Yachts, Camper and Nicholsons and Parsifal Yachting.

Former captain, Guy Mannering, who is now a charter broker at Cecil Wright, speaks of his positive experience after his first visit to MEDYS “I managed to inspect the majority of 40-metre plus vessels at the show; the captains and crew were extremely welcoming, and it set a great example of the Greek charter fleet.”

The show also had a strong line-up of exhibitors, showcasing everything from provisions and soft furnishings to insurance and superyacht toys.

A core component of the show is the social calendar, which over the course of the five days was brimming with events such as the cocktail party for women in yachting hosted by Atalanta Golden Yachts on board O’Eva , the White Thing Party hosted by Istion Yachting and a Casablanca cinema night hosted by IYC Greece on board Arktos.

The BOAT International Captain’s Club also held an event during the show with a breakfast in collaboration with GYA, that saw several attending captains at MEDYS catch up over coffee before the fourth day of the show commenced.

At the very heart of MEDYS, however, was classic Greek hospitality, that extended throughout event.

The eighth edition of MEDYS, also saw the return of the chef’s competition, under the theme, Zero Waste from the Greek Seas. On the judging panel were two chefs each with two-Michelin stars, George Papazacharias, of Delta Restaurant in Athens, and Antonio Mellino, of Ristorante Quattro Passi in Nerano, as well as brokers, Anzela Zurlo and Bobby Bigio.

After two days of rigorous testing, the judges confirmed that the winners of the 2023 chef’s competition, having demonstrated a remarkable level of innovation, skill and execution of the theme was chef Emmanouil Perros of Zen taking first prize in Category A, and Tatiana Konstantinidi of Hakuna Matata awarded first prize in Category A Platinum.

With a focus on the Greek yachting fleet, the superyacht market appears as strong as ever, with several announcements throughout the show confirming this. One of the announcements from Camper & Nicholson’s, held on board Jo I , sees the brokerage house open a new Athens office in a joint venture with the Fais Group, specialising in retail, hospitality, real estate development and yachting in Greece.

During the announcement, the brokerage firm expressed that the move is "aimed at enhancing the services in one of the most important markets in the Mediterranean."

After five days of activity, the show was closed with the ceremonial sounding of the horns filling Nafplio with the resounding blare. The GYA president, Skoulikidis stated "Having watched MEDYS grow from a regional show to its current world-class status, I can confidently say that we are sailing into a new era.
