Benetti  is among the oldest producers of  Italian luxury yachts , celebrating Italian excellence throughout the world.

Lorenzo Benetti established the shipyard in 1873 to build wood boats for local and foreign commercial use.

With the start of World War II, the shipyard started producing recreational steel boats. Later, in the 1960s, the company would begin construction on the first large-scale luxury yachts.

Azimut Spa acquired the yacht-building company in 1985, transforming it into a modern and technologically innovative company that is now recognized worldwide.

Benetti now manufactures superyachts in the shipyards of Viareggio, Fano, and Livorno.

Tre bellissime città che vale la pena visitare.

Three  beautiful cities that are worth visiting.

Its lineup includes seven motor yacht types measuring 95 feet or longer. Custom boats in the super and giga yacht divisions are also produced by this Italian yacht builder .

Italian luxury yachts

Mangusta was founded in 1985 as a brand focusing on accessible, fast ships. Today, the company manufactures eight luxury sports yachts and five voyage superyachts  ranging in size from 104 to 215 feet.

Per veri amanti degli yacht (for real yacht lovers), the company also sells custom yachts that can be built from the ground up.

The Balducci family owns the firm, which manufactures exquisite Italian boats in the Tuscan shipyards of Viareggio and Pisa.

Azimut boats have a distinct and classically beautiful Italian style .

Azimut Yachts was born in 1969 to a young university student, Paolo Vitelli, who established Azimut Srl, a sailboat rental company.

In 1970, a few Italian luxury brands entrusted the new company with the distribution of their vessels throughout the Italian region.

According to business officials, the primary reason a customer chooses an Azimut yacht over another Italian luxury brand is its aesthetic appeal.

However, the firm has strengths in designing creative techniques and the use of nanotechnologies to produce long-lasting, anti-fouling coatings with a smaller effect on aquatic organisms.

Quindi , non solo meravigliosi ma anche di alta tecnologia.

So,  not only beautiful but also high-tech.

superyachts

Riva Motorboats’ historic yacht-building company is one of the most well-known of all “Made in Italy” nautical endeavors.

The brand’s origins can be traced back to 1852 in Sarnico, on the shores of Lake Iseo, where Pietro Riva has since become a legend of the Italian nautical scene.

Originally, the shipyard dealt with the restoration and building of local working boats (batel de pesc a ) and pleasure ships  ( canotto da passeggio ) .

Ernesto, Pietro’s uncle, recognized the importance of motors and started building larger and larger vessels.

The brand’s flagship models, which draw on its roots, are 50-80 ft. flybridge and sport yachts , as well as smaller, open models.

However, the firm also builds 150-foot superyachts.

sport yachts

Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia founded the Sanlorenzo shipyard in Viareggio in 1958, manufacturing boats from their headquarters in the shed of the former Canottieri Berchielli.

It wasn’t until 1972, when Giovanni Jannetti took over, that the company became recognized as a sign of luxury, beauty, strength, and reliability with stunning interiors .

Sanlorenzo creates luxurious Italian sailing yachts  and superyachts out of resin-infused fiberglass, aluminum, and steel.

Among the various specializations of the designer are naval architecture, yacht design, high-tech design, sales, and marketing.

Che lusso! magari mi invitassero ad una festa su uno questi yacht.

What a luxury! I wish someone  would invite me to a party on one of these yachts.

Europe and the Mediterranean have long been the brand’s ancient stomping grounds, but Ferretti has recently made inroads into the Middle East, where its legendary comfort (both when driving and at rest) is valued.

Measuring 67 feet (20.24 meters), the Ferretti Yachts 670 manages to incorporate features typically found on larger vessels. Whether configured with a standard 3-cabin layout or an extended 4-cabin version, the design focuses on clear, sleek lines, exuding an elegant and sporty appearance—a signature of recent Ferretti Yachts creations.

In the bow, a substantial sea-facing sun pad invites relaxation and enjoyment.

Sanlorenzo SL78: The Epitome of Italian Yacht Excellence

The world of luxury yachts has a prestigious pinnacle, and it's graced by the presence of Italian yacht manufacturers. Sanlorenzo, a celebrated name in this realm, introduces the SL78, a flying bridge cruiser with the panache of her larger siblings, and a few surprises of her own. While it may seem disingenuous to label anything with a $5 million price tag as "entry-level," the SL78 is, in fact, your first step onto the Sanlorenzo ladder. But it's a step that comes with certain perks that elevate it far above ordinary yachts.

Crafted to Perfection

The SL78 is a thoroughbred Italian motoryacht, boasting sleek yet classic exterior styling. Sanlorenzo is renowned for its excellent engineering and offers a designer interior tailored to your preferences. This attention to detail is what defines the brand.

Power and Performance

Two powerful V-10 engine options, both from MTU, are available for the SL78, with the more powerful 1,622-horsepower engines leading the pack. With CNC fin stabilizers set to auto mode, the yacht accelerates briskly, reaching just over 28 knots on calm waters. It handles turns with ease and offers a relaxed and comfortable experience at various cruising speeds.

Unexpected Versatility

What sets the SL78 apart is its ability to carry a full-size tender, a Williams 385, despite being a 78-foot flying bridge boat. The tender is stored aft and emerges on a wheeled cradle lowered into the water on a hydraulic platform with a 1,200-pound lift capacity. While the presence of such a substantial tender might seem to affect performance, it surprisingly has

minimal impact.

Versatile Layouts

The SL78 offers three lower-deck layouts with three or four cabins, resulting in variations in the midships master suite's size. In the four-cabin layout, a pair of twin-berth guest cabins is featured, with the option to create a smaller fourth cabin to enhance the VIP suite or create additional space for the crew. The crew's quarters share space with the VIP suite in all layouts due to the tender's presence in the stern.

Tailored for the American Market

Hull No. 2 of the Sanlorenzo SL78 differs slightly from its European-specific counterpart to cater to the American market. The open floor plan places the galley in plain sight, and the furniture arrangement on the flying bridge is adjusted to American tastes. Other modifications include increased genset capacity, air-conditioning power, and a folding mast to reduce air draft for safe passage under the Sag Harbor Bridge on New York's Long Island.

A Multifaceted Gem

The SL78's forward suite may seem smaller for a VIP due to its size, accommodating a bed of just 6 feet 2 inches. The presence of the tender garage, while a unique selling point, brings some compromises. Owners must decide whether the convenience of storing a substantial RIB in the garage outweighs these trade-offs.

Sanlorenzo SL78

Customization and Choice

Sanlorenzo has an enlightened attitude toward customization, allowing owners to start with a clean slate and craft the interior to their preferences. The show boat demonstrates a minimalist yet appealing decor, but it's just one example of what Sanlorenzo can offer. It's your choice to create your dream yacht.

The Flying Bridge Experience

During sea trials, the flying bridge was a favorite gathering spot, thanks to the dramatic companionway and the refreshing breeze. With ample space for lounging, dining, and experiencing the ingenious sunroof mechanism, the SL78's flying bridge is a standout feature that defines the yacht's appeal.

In a crowded market of luxury yachts, the Sanlorenzo SL78 emerges as a multifaceted gem. With the ability to carry a substantial tender, a commitment to customization, and a thoughtful approach to design, it combines the allure of Italian craftsmanship with the practicality of modern yachting.

Work in Progress

History of sessa marine.

The birth and the history of Italian excellence in the yacht world: Sessa Marine company. Dynamism and innovation, design and technology, style and quality: these are the exclusive features.

The history of Sessa Marine is a perfect example of the Italian entrepreneurial culture, where entrepreneurship and technological approach allowed the company to achieve excellence. Recognized for features such as dynamism and innovation, Sessa Marine conceives and realizes exclusive boats that combine design and technology, quality and style, without ever losing sight of its ultimate goal: producing "emotions" to anyone owning a Sessa Marine Yacht.

Since the beginning

Since the beginning

Sessa was founded in 1958 and the company was one of the first industry in Italy for the production of fenolic and poliester resin.

In 1968 the company enters into the marine industry with the first participation at the Genoa bot show and the beginning of a production diversification for the reinforced plastics.

The 70s years marked the production of small boats in Sessa Aurunca (South of Italy) factory and the construction of a new small shipyard in Cinisello Balsamo (North of Italy).

In 1972 the factory in Arcone near Milan was purchased and in 1973 , Sessa is the first Italian company to install the new Piaggio jets and to build the first small inboard jet units.

In 1986 the company moved from Arcore to Lesmo (Milan) and two days later the boat production was transferred to the province of Bergamo, thanks to the acquisition of Fyberstamp.

At this time, Fyberstamp was building boats wellknown all over the world like Riva and Ferretti.

It is from this moment that the production of the new range of boats begins and the brand turn decisively towards new horizons and bigger market objectives. It begins to build larger boats and starts to dedicate space to marketing activities and to product’s improvement.

Historical models from the 80s such as Mambo, Samba and Sunshine have been replaced by the new Key Largo, Oyster and Key West ranges.

In 1992 Fyberstamp merged with Sessa, founding Sessa Marine Spa , the company that we know nowadays. Lesmo plant closed in order to concentrate all the efforts to Cividate Shipyard that was modernized and increased in size in 1999 with the development of moulding and assembly department.

Environment to Sessa Marine means talking about two subjects: impact during production, towards the environment and the workers, and product impact during its use.

Additionally, in conjunction with the endeavour of engine and propeller production companies towards lower pollution, Sessa Marine can install on its own boats more ecological engines with noise control and low emission.

FINCANTIERI YACHTS AND ITALY: ALWAYS CLOSE TO EACH OTHER

Italy is part of our History and we are part of the history of Italy. Throughout the emergency, our logo will bear the colors of the Italian flag as a sign of closeness to the most affected families and communities and a symbol of unity among all Italian citizens.

Fincantieri Yachts Uniqueness

SMOTHLY MANAGING EVEN THE MOST AMBITIOUS PROJECT

Fincantieri Yachts is a relatively young organization, created in 2005 and fusing some of the best in-house and external Italian shipbuilding talent. We offer a unique mix of competencies backed by the expertise of an enthusiastic, experienced and proven management team that brings together the top talent in the fields of shipbuilding, design and luxury.

A team of excellence enhanced by a project-management capability that allows us to fulfil the most complex orders, through integrated management of the engineering, manufacturing, construction and purchasing processes and with the discipline to ensure exemplary risk management in terms of quality, cost control and optimization of production and delivery timescales.

Fincantieri Yachts Beauty

MAKING THE OWNER'S DREAMS COME TRUE, WHATEVER THE SCALE

Fincantieri Yachts has a particular specialism in high-quality superyachts over 70 metres long, and there is no limit to the size or volume of yachts we can produce. Whatever her size, each of our yachts aims to be not just a leap forward in technology, design and aesthetics but a new benchmark for beauty and luxury on the sea.

Our aspiration is to fulfil future owners' expectations, either by building a unique and tailored mega yacht - a one-off product that will stand out in every port - or by leveraging our variously sized semi-custom engineered platforms to turn visions into reality much faster.

Fincantieri Yachts Genius

WE HAVE THE "Y" FACTOR

Above a certain size, an excellent large yacht can only be developed by starting from a strong ship design and building background, like Fincantieri's, and then incorporating those very special elements that distinguish a mega yacht from a ship. For those magnificent, large luxury vessels Fincantieri Yachts possesses all the key factors - we call it our "Y" factor - to please the most demanding yacht owners.

Our yachts are designed by our dedicated Yacht Design Centre in Muggiano. The Mega Yacht engineering department comprises more than 50 experienced professionals, who oversee in detail all the basic and functional design and engineering and part of the construction side. We rely on a team of people experienced in naval and merchant ships design and construction, partnered with a team of yachting experts. For each key element of the vessel's design and construction, we form a specific team including the best experts from the Fincantieri network, skilled people working in the area where that particular discipline is most important. These experts collaborate with the other sectors to maximize synergies.

We combine advanced technology, creativity and flexibility with a passion for quality and attentive client care.

These are the same ingredients that have helped Italian companies excel in luxury goods, from fashion to jewellery and cars to luxury boats.

Fincantieri Yachts Technology

THE MOST ADVANCED HI-TECH IS IN OUR DNA

Our technological excellence is built on the unique know-how developed over more than two centuries of experience in constructing vessels of all kinds.

Our wealth of proven knowledge and solutions gives us an undisputed advantage in designing and developing our yachts with sophisticated technological approaches, such as:

  • engineering techniques to reduce noise and vibrations for superior onboard comfort, one of the most important technical and quality factors in our ships;
  • our Interior Design Team's close collaboration with external interior designers, to meet the owner's expectations while complying with the latest stringent materials-certifications and fire-safety regulations;
  • green solutions, another innovative theme and a key factor for yacht owners: we offer comprehensive technical expertise, and all our current yachts satisfy the most demanding green class notations.

In addition, the ongoing collaboration between Fincantieri R&D centres and the world's most prestigious research centres allows us to benefit from a continued transfer of knowledge, techniques and the most innovative applications.

Fincantieri Yachts Desire

EVERY PROJECT, A NEW PAGE TO BE FILLED WITH THE OWNER'S DESIRES

As a starting point for owners who have not yet developed their own design, Fincantieri Yachts has several concept designs of 70 meters and above to provide inspiration. At an early stage of development, these designs allow individual adaptations to the profile, general layout and interior styling that can easily translate into a custom-made design. For every project, Fincantieri Yachts is the only yard that grants to stay side-by-side with the owner and his team to provide a unique construction experience, while also infusing each of its yachts with elegance, beauty and the unique flavour of Italian creativity.

Of course, it also matters how many people can fit on the yacht. And how fast can you get to your favorite Italian coasts? With these yachts, you can travel faster and better than by car.

It can be a challenge to purchase a yacht without prior experience. You can use a yacht charter (for example  Boataround ) and choose from many boats on offer to know what awaits you.

italian yacht brands

If you really want to stand out among your friends, Benetii should be on the top of your list of Italian yacht brands to buy. It is actually the oldest brand that started creating boats back in 1873. The founder is Lorenzo Benetti and they pride themselves on their Made in Italy yachts.

The first-ever shipyard launched by Benetti was in Viareggio in 1873. After nearly 100 years, in 1961 Benetti starts to produce steel boats, and the first yacht was launched under the name of Luxury Motor Yacht. Choose from a few different categories of yachts such as Class, B.Yong, Oasis, and B. Now or B. Century.

The Motopaniflo is the perfect yacht for travel. It is 37 meters long and it’s beautiful. Wait until you see the inside of the yacht, it is absolutely stunning! It fits 10 guests in 5 cabins and another 7 people in 4 cabins that are part of the crew. In case you’ve been wondering which Italian sailing yachts brands to invest in, Benetti should be in your top 5.

Among the best Italian yacht brands we have to count Azimut in our top 5 list. The business was founded by Paolo Vitelli in 1969. The first yacht that defined the history of the brand was the AZ 43’ Bali one and it “was an immediate success”. One of Azimut’s sayings is ”Italian as a way of life” meaning their attention to detail in the production of every single yacht is impeccable.

Azimut’s products show elegance, luxury, and the best quality you could find. No wonder it’s at the top of the Italian luxury yacht brands. There are about 6 collections on the website. Flybridge, S Collection, Magellano, Atlantis, Grande, and Verve. All of the collections have different sizes of yachts.

The Magellano for example was built for anyone ”who wants to cruise further afield”. It has gentle navigation and limited fuel consumption. The interior is specifically for those who wish to stay on the boat for a longer period. The Magellano 43 for instance had 2/3 cabins and it’s perfect for a small family or group of friends.

3. Mangusta

italian yacht brands

Mangusta is a bit newer than the previous brands . They have over 30 years of experience in being on the top of the Italian yacht brands list. The founders are the Balducci family who came up with the Mangusta name in 1985. The name comes from mongoose, which is ”the only animal that can tackle and defeat cobras. At that time the best company for fast vessels used to be the Cobra by Tecnomarine.

So the Mangusta was a new challenge, to beat the existing company in the best Italian sailing yachts brands. Giuseppe Balducci’s history also begins in Viareggio when he was working in a historic shipyard. The innovations that came after these years are truly amazing and it’s still a well-respected company.

You’ll find three types of yachts, Mangusta Oceano, Gransport, and Maxiopen. I found the Maxi Open the most interesting. It is a luxury sports yacht, it’s designed to be spacious while still offering enough speed. The smallest model can still hold up to 14 people on board in total. While the 132E has 5 cabins for guests and the owner, plus another 3 for the crew. So in total, it can fit up to 17 people. You can bring a lot of your friends to this yacht.

italian yachts brands

Using Riva’s own words about its yachts ”Devil is in the details” and I couldn’t agree more. Out of the 10 Italian luxury yacht brands Riva is probably the most luxurious looking with so much detail. It was founded in 1842 by Pietro Riva. Today it is part of the Ferretti Group.

You’ll find three different yachts at Riva, the Sportfly, Open, and Flybridge. Sportyfly’s largest yacht is the 88’ Folgore. It’s an ”irresistible thunderbolt”, it’s fast, beautiful and the design is just magnificent. It has 4 cabins and two standard crew cabins. The interior has everything you ever need for your vacation on the Italian coast.

From the Flybridge collection, I like the 110’ Dolcevita the most. It’s their new fiberglass flagship. And it is also a collaboration between Officina Italiana Design and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. The yacht itself is stunning, and aesthetically pleasing with the highest technology. It has 5 cabins and 3 standard crew cabins, so it’s quite spacious. Let’s see the last of the Italian yacht brands.

5. Sanlorenzo

italian yachts brands

The last on our list of Italian sailing yachts brands is Sanlorenzo. They have over 60 years of experience in this field, founded by Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia in 1958. They have been building high-quality motor yachts that can be ordered on request. And their motto is ’made to measure’, meaning you can request them to be made in many ways.

There are 4 collections to note at Sanlorenzo. SL, SD, SX and SP Range. The SL yacht for example is elegant and well-balanced, available in 6 different models. All of them can be personalized based on the owner’s taste and passions. Let’s take the SL106 Asymmetric as an example. It is 32,38 meters long and can fit a total of 15 people on board.

The SP range is quite new, designed with sustainability and comfort in mind. There’s only one model available, which is the SP110. It ”offers the best performances at the lowest fuel consumption”. Have you seen solar panels on a yacht? Yes, the SP110 has solar panels that supply the power to run the hotel load. It fits about 12-13 people and has a length of 33,04 meters. Even from an architectural point of view, this yacht is exquisite and worth investing in. Which of these Italian yacht brands is your favorite?

6. Baglietto

italian yacht brands

Continuing our list of Italian luxury yacht brands, next up is Baglietto. The brand was founded over 160 years ago, in 1854 with just the dream of having small fishing boats. Its founder is Pietro Baglietto whose vision was so clear that even today Baglietto is a well-respected yachts brand. He created racing boats, cruising yachts, and standard boats. Over the year the family business has been passed down to generations.

Today they stand proud as a 160 years old business that creates the most amazing yachts in Italy. There are 4 distinctive ranges to look at. The Dom Line, Tline, Fast Line, and Superfast Line. But besides these 4 ranges, Baglietto also offers the possibility to custom make your own yacht.

In the Fast Line, there are 3 different models designed by Francesco Paszkowski. The Fast43 is a 43.65 meters long yacht that can hold up to 17 people, out of which 7 are crew members. Another designer for Baglietto is Stefano Vafiadis, whose range is the Dom Line. The Dom 133 – Hybrid, has an overall length of 40.60 meters and can hold up to 18 people. The interior design is magnificent. You can literally live on this yacht!

7. Ferretti

italian yachts brands

The Ferretti Group was founded by the Ferretti brothers in 1968. They were previously marketing motor boats for an American Firm but then decided to build their own ones. The first one was built in 1971 and was called a ‘motor sailer’. After this, a series of other motor yachts were built by the Ferretti brothers, and soon they expanded into a bigger company.

The Ferretti Group also owns Riva, Custom Line, and CRN. So what type of “boats” can you buy from one of the best Italian yachts brands like Ferretti? According to the company, “the Ferretti Yachts fleet is a rich mix of comfort”. Let’s take the FERRETTI YACHTS 1000, which is a new concept of yachts. It looks and feels luxurious from the inside out.

The amount of time spent on designing and prototyping these yachts is over 15,000 hours. And to this day, it is their largest yacht built. The exterior looks premium with all of the details thought out carefully. The interiors look like the inside of an apartment. With sofas, tables, and chairs that make up a lounge and allow 20 people to be on board. The bedrooms and bathrooms are stunning too!

8. Rossinavi

italian yacht brands

The brand Rossivani is fairly new compared to the other Italian sailing yachts brands. Rossivani was founded in 2007 by Cantiere Fratelli Rossi. So many brands in Italy have been created by families and passed down to generations, working with the same passion. They create stylish yet simple designs which are made to last for years to come.

On their website, you can check out the fleets as they were made in each year, all the way back to 2000. The “South” was the first-ever made yacht by the Rossivani company and it’s 54 meters. The average speed is 15 knots with a maximum of 17, meanwhile smaller yachts go between 6-8. These yachts can accommodate up to 12 guests.

Looking at the newest model which is the “Piacere” one, was built for anyone in all types of sea conditions. It’s made in a way that both the internal and external spaces are optimized. The overall length is almost 50 meters. Although it doesn’t say how many people can fit into this yacht, however, you can choose to have a large garage on the bow. Simply said, it’s a pretty big yacht!

italian yacht brands

The story of CRN began in 1963 in Ancona which is in the Marche region of Italy. If you’re familiar with this region, then you know the Le Marche beaches as beautiful, so it’s only right that you need a yacht to discover all of them. CRN comes from “Costruzioni e Riparazioni Navali” which translates to “Shipbuilding and Ship Repairs”. Ancona has been a “strategic maritime hub” for 2400 years.

CRN is passionate about steel and aluminum, to bring their ideas to life and listen to your visions of how you imagine the yacht to be. They say “if you can dream it, we can make it”. Looking at the CRN Megayachts, they are definitely larger than the previous ones on our list. Mimtee for example is a beauty of 79 meters and it was designed for families.

Another beautiful 54,80-meter yacht is the Atlante. It’s quite huge and it fits around 13 guests. Although the exterior is more similar to the exterior of a ship, the yacht is still beautiful and functional for pleasure use. Other fleets CRN designed are Ciao, Rio, Voice, or Cloud 9. The Cia and Rio are the newest addition to the 2022 year. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for premium yachts!

10. Custom Line

italian yacht brands

As we have mentioned before, Custom Line is owned by the Ferretti Group. If you have seen the yachts they produce then you know you’ll only get the best quality. What does Custom Line promise to deliver then? Their fleets are “designed to fulfill every lifestyle and cruising need”. They have two main fleet lines, the Planing, and Navetta. All of these yachts were made with excellence in mind, so your sailings can go as smoothly as you can expect them to.

From the Navetta line, the 42 is the company’s largest displacement yacht. It is practical, it’s stunning and it blends into the sea. What’s even better is that this beauty is fully customizable. Whatever you wish to create inside this yacht, Custom Line will grant your wishes. It can fit up to 4 VIP sections, meaning that a maximum of 20 people can be on board. This will include 5 cabins for guests and another 4 for crew members. Which one was your favorite out of the 10 Italian yacht brands?

Best Italian Yacht Brands – Italian Sailing Yachts Brands – Wrap up

That concludes our list of Italian yacht brands. In case you wish to experience the luxury life and travel more on the sea, a yacht is a perfect investment. In this case, you’ll gain more life experience, you’ll travel and if you’re lucky enough you get to do that with family and your loved ones. After all, what’s the point of owning a yacht if you cannot take your family and friends on it? What we love about the Italian luxury yacht brands is their attention to detail. From the outside of the yacht to the inside furniture , everything is so well-thought-out.

For instance, if you purchase a bigger yacht, you’ll get about 8 cabins easily. Of course, some need to be reserved for the crew members as it’s important to have people help with sailing, however, you still have plenty of room for yourself. Other specifications may include fuel consumption. The majority are designed in a way that you use less fuel and get more travel time out of it. Whichever brand you choose, they will not disappoint you!

Let’s see what restaurants are highly rated by the locals and visitors of the city.

It's a traditional Tuscanian fish stew, a mix of seafood creatures. Cacciucco means 'small dimensions' as all the ingredients are chopped into very small pieces. This stew is usually cooked from 5 different types of fish and shellfish and served with thin slices of stale bread. The legend says that fishermen helped hungry children and everyone put one fish in their pot, that's how this soup was created.

Average bill: 1,000 – 2,500 rubles

Osteria Mario is a network of cozy family restaurants with locations in almost all Moscow districts. It is a place where you’ll enjoy the cuisine the way the Italians do. The authentic Pizza Romana, Cacciucco  seafood soup, and mussels in white wine will never leave you indifferent. There is a special zone and menu for kids. Average bill: 1,500 – 2,000 rubles

Pinzeria by Bontempi is a network of eateries where you can taste pinza, a unique dish created by Valentino Bontempi, an Italian chef and the author of bestselling gastronomy books. The pinza was inspired by the Roman Empire's simple but hearty flatbread, which Virgil mentioned as the food that gives strength. The chef restored the lost recipe, and now everyone in Moscow can taste an oval-shaped, tender delicacy. In addition to almost 30 varieties of pinza, the restaurants serve home-made pasta, gluten-free dishes, and vegan food. A real paradise for healthy lifestyle enthusiasts!

It's a rich Italian soup made of vegetables, meat, pasta or rice. The common ingredients are tomatoes, potatoes, beans and celery. Minestrone is a synonym for 'a mix of all things' and originated in the Roman Kindom where it was vegetarian by necessity.

Average bill: 3,200 – 4,100 rubles

Sartoria Lamberti is a luxurious restaurant inside the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, not far from the Moscow Kremlin. But it is famous not for its location, but for its unique concept and haute cuisine. Right after the threshold, there is a shop where a seamstress embroiders monogrammed gifts for visitors. The restaurant’s interior is designed as a tailor's shop, with columns in the form of thimbles, mannequins, lamps looking like men's cuffs, cutlery with needle ears on handles, and other attributes of an atelier. The menu includes classical Italian dishes, such as minestrone , seafood risotto, and black truffle linguine. And true gourmands will appreciate exclusive haute cuisine masterpieces. There is an open kitchen with a wood-burning oven and a grill, where meat, fish, and seafood are cooked. The bar offers a good choice of wines and a variety of signature cocktails, which can be prepared and presented right at your table. A good place for fine dining lovers!

This dish comes from Northern Italy whose climate is ideal for growing rice (riso means 'rice'). The key ingredient is semi-rounded short-grain rice cooked with meat, fish or vegetable broth. Try risotto with parmesan cheese and white wine. Add saffron for flavour and yellow colour.

Average bill: 3,000 – 5,000 rubles

Butler is a Michelin-selected restaurant located in a beautiful historical building near Patriarshiye Ponds. Its impeccable Sicilian cuisine by the chef Giuseppe Davi will not leave you indifferent. In addition to pasta, risotto , and pizzas, the restaurant offers a large selection of fish and seafood dishes. Oysters, sea urchins, shrimp, tuna, and Dorado fish are just a few choices in a long menu list. The one who prefers meat dishes will definitely appreciate premium steaks cooked on an open fire. The interiors of the restaurant also give aesthetic pleasure and, in combination with high-level service, will make your dinner unforgettable.

Mussels are a type of bivalve mollusks, that are similar to clams and oysters. They are a great source of vitamins and have a mild, faintly sweet flavor. Mussels can be pan-roasted, steamed, stewed, or added to other dishes.

Average bill: 2,500 – 3,000 rubles

If you have a taste for mussels , then Mollusca is right for you. Very few restaurants can boast of 101 sauce recipes for this popular seafood. You can choose between creamy, salty, or chocolate flavors. The restaurant's menu includes many other culinary delights: sea bass crudo, salad with grilled squid, Neapolitan-style fritto misto, and many others. All this diversity is the creation of Gianmaria Sapia, a hereditary chef from Liguria. Mollusca has three locations in the central districts of Moscow. The interior of the restaurant is designed in the style of Art Nouveau with Art Deco elements.

It's an authentic no-bake Italian dessert with a coffee flavor. It means 'cheer me up' because of the two caffeine-containing ingredients - coffee and cocoa. Tiramisu is made from espresso-dipped ladyfingers and mascarpone cream.

Casa di famiglia is a network of cozy Italian restaurants located in the residential areas of Moscow. They are very popular with the locals due to their family concept, average prices, and good choice of pizzas. The menu has 19 pizza variants, including vegetarian ones. Here, you can order practically all Italian hits: pastas, bruschettas, risotto, and authentic tiramisu and semifreddo desserts. But it is not only good cuisine, but also a warm atmosphere that attracts visitors here. "Casa di famiglia" is translated as "family home," and the place deserves this name. There is a special children’s menu. And while adults are having a chat, kids can have fun under the supervision of animators in a playroom.

This traditional Italian dish comes from Bologna and it seems the oldest type of pasta. Lasagna is stacked layers of wide and flat pasta and a variety of other ingredients, including sauce, vegetables, cheese, meat, etc. The word 'lasagna' refers to a pot where this dish was cooked.

Vabene! reminds one of old Italian trattorias: brick walls, colorful tablecloths, designer lamps without shades, and paintings on the walls. You’ll find 25 pizza types of 3 different sizes here: 30, 38, and 80 cm. The wine list has several options by glass and about 50 in bottles. In the morning, the restaurant offers fixed-price breakfasts, including the branded one. Vabene! is also known as a delivery service where you can order all Italian cuisine dishes, from classical pizzas, pastas, and lasagnas to gourmet beef tagliata and vitello tonnato.

This dish comes from the region of Lombardy and the word means 'bone with the hole'. Ossobuco is made from cross-cut veal shranks that are slowly braised with vegetables, broth and white wine. Braising makes this tough meat tender. It is usually served with mashed potatoes.

Average bill: 1,300 – 2,700 rubles

La Bottega Siciliana is a little island of authentic Sicilian cuisine near the Red Square and the Bolshoi Theater. The restaurant is divided into 3 parts: a pastry shop, a hall with a view of the open kitchen, and a cozy hall with a fireplace. The menu is rather diverse and includes all popular Italian dishes. Seafood lovers will enjoy sea urchins, oysters, wild fish ceviche, and shrimp crudo. And true gourmands are advised to taste ossobuco Milanese, a venetian-style calf-liver, and an eggplant dish made according to chef Nino’s recipe. The pastry shop serves more than 30 desserts and genuine Italian gelato.

Botteganova Organic is a place where the dreams of healthy lifestyle fans come true. This is a family restaurant where the love of Italian gastronomy coexists with the idea of healthy eating. All the products are carefully selected and purchased from the best farms. In addition to pasta and pizza, the menu has steaks and fresh seafood  cooked right before your eyes in the open kitchen. There is also a signature dish that is worth tasting. It is the Kabardian smoked cheese that adds some exotics to classical Italian cuisine. At the gastro boutique inside the restaurant, one can buy fresh vegetables and all kinds of Italian products. There is one more thing that makes the place stand out among other restaurants. This is an underground parking lot where the owners of eco-friendly electric vehicles can charge their cars for a nominal fee.

Oysters are one of the most delicious seafood dishes. Oysters can be cooked in a variety of ways. They may be smoked, boiled, steamed, pan fried, grilled, or baked. The unique flavor of an oyster, which may be salty, sweet, buttery, copper, briny, or melon, heavily depends on where it was caught.

Average bill: 1,000 – 1,500 rubles

If you happen to walk along Rozhdestvensky Boulevard, the best choice for dinner is Roberto Restaurant. This is a small but very cozy place, which was named after its first Italian chef. The place has always been very popular, both among locals and tourists. Italian celebrities visited the place more than once. Among them were actor Michele Placido, football player and coach Nevio Scala, and musician Marco Armani. In 2004, the trattoria became one of two Moscow restaurants to be awarded a certificate confirming the authenticity of Italian cuisine outside the Apennine Peninsula. The menu includes traditional Italian hits, dishes from local, seasonal products, and signature delicacies such as beef fillet with black truffle sauce. Sea urchins, oysters , and crabs can be ordered straight from the aquarium. The bar offers a good list of elite wines from all Italian regions. Visitors with children will appreciate a special menu for kids.

Antipasto is a traditional Italian snack (the word “antipasto” literally means “before meals”). It may be hot or cold and it may contain cold cuts, seafood, cheeses, and vegetables.

Average bill: 530 – 1,300 rubles

Accenti is located in a detached building in a quiet Moscow courtyard. People come here to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine and relax from the hustle and bustle of the big city. The interiors are decorated with green plants and flowers, paintings, classical chandeliers, and plaster figures. An old carved fireplace and candlesticks, as well as designer wallpapers depicting sunny landscapes, create an authentic Italian atmosphere. Visitors will enjoy a good choice of antipasti , pizzas, pastas, and desserts. Pizza is cooked according to the old Neapolitan recipes in a wood-burning oven. Pasta fans are offered spaghetti, tagliatelle, and ravioli made of selected durum wheat. Exclusive delicacies, such as squid tentacles in a Ligurian style, duck breast with caramelized oranges, and fried duck liver with porcini mushroom sauce, are served for hot meals. The basement houses a cozy wine loft with a decorative fireplace, an old Ed. Seiler piano, and racks with a rich collection of wines.

Photo from Restaurant Guru

It's a very tasty Italian dessert with the texture of frozen mousse. Semifreddo means 'half cold' and it is made of sugar, egg yolks and whipped cream. This dish is usually served in the form of tarts or ice cream cakes.

Average bill: 7,000 – 7,500 rubles

Semifreddo is not only a popular Italian dessert but also a luxury restaurant in Moscow, not far from Park Kultury Metro Station. This is the brainchild of the famous Sicilian chef Nino Graziano, whose restaurant in Sicily was awarded 2 Michelin stars. The Moscow restaurant is in no way inferior. It is a mixture of modern and classical approaches to fine dining culture. The menu offers traditional Italian and Sicilian cuisine, creative recipes by Nino Graziano, signature dishes from other chefs, and the Semiramis menu. True gourmands will enjoy an exclusive set of dishes with Alba white truffle and black caviar. Whatever you choose — classical minestrone, duck foie gras escalope with marsala sauce, or gourmet semifreddo “Roshe” — everything will be worthy of the honorary title of haute cuisine. The wine list is just like the cuisine: refined and balanced. Due to such outstanding qualities, the restaurant was highly rated by many prestigious guides, including the guides of Michelin, Gault& Millau, and Gambero Rosso.

Photo from Restaurant Guru

It's a classic Italian pasta made of spaghetti or other long pasta, guanciale or pancetta, parmesan, olive oil, salt and pepper. Carbonara means 'in the manner of coal miners'. There are different theories for its origin. The dish could be the main meal for charcoal workers or just the black pepper flecks look like coal dust against the creamy pasta.

Average bill: 1,000 – 2,000 rubles

Amarena is an Italian restaurant of the Albero Group that promotes the concept of family dining. Its cuisine is in the hands of Maurizio Romagnoli, a hereditary chef from Italy. So, every dish is simultaneously traditional and unique here. Carbonara  is prepared the way it is done in Italy — without adding any cream, and pizza is made on the thinnest dough. Special attention should be paid to black ravioli with salmon and dried tomato cream, tomato soup with stracciatella, and truffle pasta cooked in a Parmesan cheese head. The interior of Amarena is very democratic and light. It has panoramic windows overlooking the courtyard and the open kitchen, which visually expands the space. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day, so one can have freshly brewed coffee even at night.

Photo from Restaurant Guru

Pappardelle is one of the widest types of flat egg paste. The name of this noodle comes from the verb "pappare", which in Tuscan dialect means "to eat with pleasure and joy." The width of fresh pappardelle can reach 3 cm, dry ones are narrower - 1.3-1.5 cm. Homemade pappardelle is not difficult to prepare, but they turn out to be incredibly tasty and aromatic.

Average bill: 1,700 – 3,200 rubles

La Provincia is a cozy corner of Italy not far from the legendary Gorky Park. Here, the chef from Southern Italy will offer you traditional Italian dishes. Pappardelle with truffle, foie gras with quail and saffron pear, and risotto with cuttlefish ink are just a few of the restaurant's signature dishes that are worth tasting. There is also a good choice of seafood: oysters, grilled octopus, Kamchatka crab with spicy herbs, scallops in the shell, sea urchins, squids, and cuttlefish. The interior looks very elegant with crystal chandeliers, white tablecloths, Venetian chairs, candlesticks, and mirrors in solid frames. But despite all this luxury, it turns out to be a democratic restaurant with a homely atmosphere and fair prices.

Photo from Google

It's traditional Italian flat oven-baked bread that is cooked in flat sheet pans, flavoured with olive oil and rosemary and topped with herbs and vegetables. Focaccia is regarded as a pizza's precursor. It derives from the Latin word 'focacia' which means 'hearth' or 'fireside'.

Average bill: 800 – 1,200 rubles

Farro is a modern gastro bar located in the historical part of Moscow, halfway between Kitay Gorod and Chistye Prudy. As you can judge from the name, the menu is focused on homemade pasta for every taste. But the restaurant can also boast of its pizza Romana, a variety of focaccias and light snacks, and an extensive wine list. The cocktail collection will impress you with its signature variants inspired by famous painters. Order "Gustav Klimt" to feel the taste of baked-pear brandy ennobled by the flavors of grape and jasmine. And "Frida Kahlo" will let you discover the taste of pink-pepper tequila mixed with passion fruit, blue agave, and lime. The interior of Farro Pasta Bar is also a kind of artwork. It is very atmospheric: designer plafonds, unpainted walls, wooden tables... And its floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows allow one to enjoy the rhythm of Moscow life.

Just make a choice and enjoy a wonderful evening in a warm Italian atmosphere. Pizza Romana, Risotto alla Milanese, Sicilian shrimp, and many other Italian delicacies are waiting for you in Moscow. Buon Appetito!
