A General Description of Sailing Yacht ADIX

This sailing yacht ADIX is a 65 m 213 (foot) important steel ship which was crafted by Astilleros De Mallorca and conceived by Arthur Holgate and Dijkstra & Partners. An important triple masted schooner ADIX is a very distinctive Spanish built superyacht which was launched to completion in 1984. Accommodating 10 passengers and 14 crew members, sailing yacht ADIX is ex Jessica; Schooner XXXX as her shipyard project name. She is a traditional triple masted schooner. Completed for 1984 her reasonably traditional interior design confirms the traditional approach in the designing of John Munford/Alan Boswell.

ADIX is a three-masted schooner built in 1984 originally named 'Jessica'. In the mid to late 1980's she was bought by Alan Bond who used her as a promotional tool and consequently named the yacht after his beer, 'XXXX'. In 1991 she underwent a complete refit at the Pendennis shipyard including a transom modification and full interior refurbishment and has since paid subsequent visits to the yard in 2001 and 2008. The 370-tonne three-masted schooner is the largest yacht to date to be lifted out by the company’s 400-tonne travel hoist which is the largest leisure yacht hoist in the UK.

The Shipyard Work & Design for Luxury Yacht ADIX

Arthur Holgate was the naval architect firm involved in the professional vessel design work for ADIX. Her interior design was completed by John Munford/Alan Boswell. Arthur Holgate and Dijkstra & Partners is also associated with the yacht general design work for this yacht. Spain is the country that Astilleros De Mallorca completed their new build sailing yacht in. After the official launch in 1984 in Palma De Mallorca, she was afterwards released to the proud new owner having completed sea trials. The core hull was crafted from steel. The sailing yacht main superstructure is made for the most part using steelandteak. The total length of the luxury yacht on deck is 56 (183.7 ft). With a width of 8.66 metres / 28.4 feet ADIX has spacious size. A deep draught of 4.82m (15.8ft) limits the amount of marinas she can visit, contingent on their specific depth at low tide. She had refit improvement and alteration work undertaken by 2008.

Fitted with a single MAN diesel engines, ADIX can reach a top speed of 12 knots. Her propulsion units are a single screw propeller. Her total HP is 540 HP and her total Kilowatts are 485. For bow thrusters she was built with Hps.

The substantial luxury yacht sailing yacht ADIX is able to sleep as many as 10 guests in addition to 14 crew members.

Adix To Attend Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta

Adix – The 221ft three-masted schooner Adix is joining the racing fleet in Antigua.

Built by Astilleros de Palma de Mallorca in 1984, she first arrived in Antigua as ‘Jessica’ in the mid ‘eighties under the flamboyant ownership of Carlos Perdomo. She had completed her first circumnavigation by the late ‘eighties under Alan Bond, before returning to Europe to begin her new awakening as ‘Adix’. After competing at La Nioularge in 1990, she competed in two trans-Atlantic races, the second effort delivering a long sought after goal, which was to better the famous three-masted schooner ‘Atlantic’s’ passage time, which we eventually did comfortably at an average speed of 12.6 knots.

However, during her current ownership, which now spans more than 27 years, she has essentially been a consummate cruising yacht, with two more circumnavigations under her keel, and several runs throughout the Pacific. She has ranged as far north as Alaska, and ventured south to the Antarctic Peninsula.

In 2015 she went to refit in Falmouth England, where she completed her regular Lloyd’s special survey, underwent modifications to her deck accommodation, and replaced her original ageing rig with a new carbon rig, reflecting the same style and look as the old; one notable exception being the introduction of ‘deadeyes and lanyards’ as a nod towards her traditional heritage. This coming summer will see her on the east coast of the United States and the Maine coast, before returning back through the Caribbean en-route once more to the Pacific, continuing her tradition as one of the great cruising yachts of her time.

RORC 600 on a three-masted schooner

Our 2016 Yachtsman of the Year was aboard the three-masted schonner Adix for the RORC 600

I t is the middle of the night, but the full moon casts shadows on the deck, and highlights whitecaps to port and to starboard. We are heeled at an obscene angle, and above my head a ridiculous expanse of sail stretches into the sky.

Over three masts we are flying nine sails – three lowers, three topsails and three headsails. The three varnished booms (four, including the staysail boom) are almost parallel, although the sheeting angle gets slightly tighter as you look aft from the foremast to the mizzen mast. They are all under massive load and the long mizzen boom is bowed towards the deck to a worrying degree. Up aloft, the three gaffs stand in salute, holding the peaks of the lowers up and the clews of the topsails out. Each enormous piece of canvas is perfectly trimmed to the wind, which is humming fiercely through the dozens of lines and stays that make up the complex rigging. The 400-tonne three-masted topsail schooner Adix is charging up the coast of Saint Martin on a close reach at 14 knots with a bone in her teeth. Spray and foam erupt from under the bow every few seconds, and the hawse pipe resembles a bad-tempered geyser. Even so, the size and weight of this vessel give an apparent stability that leaves the small-boat sailor dumbfounded, so that even when bashing into weather, there seems to be some sense of peaceful purpose to her trajectory.

We are making our way around the course of the Royal Ocean Racing Club Caribbean 600, we are tired and wet and aching to the bone, and yet the whole crew is thrilled and exhilarated to be racing Adix hard. On our leeward side a bermudan sloop can just be made out, and though it is 70ft or more, it looks tiny as it disappears into our wake. We are the only gaff-rigged yacht in this race, and we are by far the largest vessel on the course.

RORC has been organizing ocean races since 1925, when it invented the now legendary Fastnet Race. The first Caribbean 600 was held in 2009, and over the last eight years the racing fleet – and media attention – have been steadily growing. This time there were some 70 yachts, the vast majority of which were carbon-fibre, canting keel, racing machines. Black bermudan sails filled the start line, crews filled the windward rails, and rockstar bowmen posed for the helicopters.

Originally completed in Spain in 1984, Adix was going to be named Argentina until the Falklands war broke out, when her launch name became Jessica . She has been through several refits and major changes over the course of her adventurous life, including a short stint as XXXX (after one owner’s brand of beer), before her current owner renamed her Adix in 1990. Since then she has circumnavigated and been cruised extensively – from the antarctic to Alaska, from Tahiti to Trinidad, and of course around the southern capes.

Modern tricks

Although Adix is a traditional-looking three-masted gaff schooner, she has a few modern tricks up her sleeves too. A refit at Pendennis Shipyard included the installation of a carbon-fibre rig. The new masts are each 4m (13ft 1in) taller than before, bringing her working sail area up by 10 per cent to 1,400m 2 (15,069sq ft), and reducing the rig weight by 6.5 tonnes. On deck, modern materials have been integrated into traditional sailing in a remarkable way – for instance, the traditional deadeyes that take the lanyards at the bottom of some of the shrouds are milled from high grade aluminium; and the high-load halyards, which are spliced from three-strand into braided Dyneema core, run through beautiful wooden blocks as well as through modern alloy ones.

The way the boat is run also echoes this traditional and yet progressive ethos. She is sailed whenever possible, usually on and off the anchor, and although there are a few electric winches on the deck, they are used only for hoisting and sheeting the largest of the sails. The captain, Paul Goss, is a classic boat legend in his own right, and was the driving force behind the restoration of Altair in 1987. There are stories on board about sailing backwards out of narrow anchorages, and of doing an entire guest trip with a broken-down engine.

I had flown out to join Adix in Antigua in January, to work with them as bosun. As soon as I joined, I was blown away by the scale and complexity of the rig, of course, but also by the expertise and equipment on board, which makes Adix almost self-sufficient. As well as the standard watermakers, washing machines, freezers, and so on, there is a workshop in the forepeak, and acres of sail storage in the lazarette. Three tenders can be launched from deck, one of which is a lovely sailing dingy with a gunter rig. A crew of 12 runs the boat, but for this regatta an extra eight race crew were brought in – including sailmakers and riggers. Before the race, we checked and adjusted each part of the rig, servicing winches and gear. The test days went well, and we were allocated race positions.

Towards the start

The weather was fine as we left the harbour on race day, with a beautiful 14kt trade wind blowing from the southeast. Our crew worked the halyards and Adix unfurled her wings, one by one. Finally, with all topsails set, we bore away and watched the expanse of cloth fill. The boat heeled, and with great momentum gathered speed. As we tacked towards the start line, we watched the other classes start. We were almost alone for our start.

The cannon was fired, and we slipped through the line on a close reach, glad of the southerly component of the wind that would allow us to get around the corner of Antigua without having to beat.

As we approached the first mark east of Green Island, we hoisted our asymmetric spinnaker ready for a bear-away set. We passed within a couple of metres of the orange buoy, the helm went down, and the release line was given a sharp tug. The zip split, the sock peeled away, and 856m 2 (9,214sq ft) of sail billowed out before us. The peaceful quiet of a downwind leg was interrupted only by the shouts of the bowman, giving instruction to the helm regarding what course to take to avoid the many smaller boats that we were now passing.

We stowed the kite on the next leg, having gybed around the mark near Barbuda. Dropping it involves most of the crew lining up on the bow, pulling the acres of cloth down and inboard as the halyard is slipped. As you stand there trying to avoid all the flailing arms, it is easy to become enveloped by the canvas as you pull it down around you, and you can find yourself trapped in a world of white thrashing shapes and distant voices, until you climb out on top of the mountain of sail.

For the next leg we kept up the fisherman and hoisted our big reaching outer jib and reaching staysail. These downwind and reaching legs were good for us, and we steadily climbed the leaderboards as we gybed again around Nevis and continued behind St Kitts and St Eustatius, in darkness now. In fact, as we rounded Saba we were leading every class, but now sailing upwind, we knew we would not be able to compete with the performance of the modern raceboats.

Beating to St Barths

We dropped our reaching sails just before the downwind mark, and hoisted smaller, flatter sails in their place. As we came up and started beating towards St Barths, Adix powered up, heeled over, and decided that we all deserved to get wet – the foredeck crew, at least.

Now the feel of our race changed slightly. Every time Adix tacked, we dropped the topsails on the fore and the main mast, and hoisted them on the other side of the lowers, to avoid fouling the triatic stays between the masts. They are not small sails, and are hoisted by hand without winches, so this meant plenty of work for everyone, and not a lot of sleep. The two deck watches started to get competitive, seeing who could make the most miles in their four-hour watch. Lee cloths were tied up, but not before a couple of people fell out of their bunks. The forepeak, which was housing eight men in four bunks, started to get really quite smelly.

Eventually the sun returned, but for the next long leg down to Guadeloupe we were still hard-pressed, with the wind well in the south. It wasn’t until we passed through the lee of Montserrat that the breeze backed a little. We gently slipped through the wind shadow in the lee of the island before beating east again. As we approached Antigua once more, with another 200 miles to sail, we passed the ludicrously fast trimaran, Concise 10 , sailing south. It was a little disheartening to learn they had already finished and were sailing for Barbados at 25kt!

We passed close to Antigua, and sailed over reefs with only two metres of water under our keel, under spinnaker. Night fell, and we rounded the Barbuda buoy for a second time, using torchlight to judge the distance. The next mark was the island of Radonda, but the wind increased considerably as we approached it. We emerged back into the Atlantic wind and swell. On the bowsprit, we had to hold on tight as we were dunked underwater and then flung up high into the air as 270 tons of steel schooner crashed anew into the oncoming seas.

Helming Adix was challenging at first; having spent most of my sailing time on small, responsive boats, I began by impatiently oversteering and overcorrecting, which resulted in a bad course and extra rudder drag. After a little time driving, I became familiar with the amount of time such a boat takes to respond, and eventually found that it is possible to steer a steady course with just the occasional half-a-spoke turn of the wheel. We steered by apparent wind angle when beating, and were expected to keep within only one or two degrees of error, so ceaseless concentration was required. After days of taking my turn at the wheel my feet ached.

The finishing line

Finally, as the sun rose for the third time during our race, we approached the finishing line, just south of English Harbour, hard on the wind and enjoying the magnificent sunlight illuminating the rugged Antiguan coastline. We turned into Falmouth harbour. Adix ’s owner, who was on board for the race, thanked us, and was thanked wholeheartedly in return. On handicap, we finished 11th out of 70 overall, having clawed back a few places in the second half of the race. We came second of 10 in our IRC class, and won the SoT class by default.

The RORC 600 course seems particularly challenging for the larger, faster boats, because the marks are close with little time for rest. On Adix there is a huge amount of sail handling – bundling and carrying them around the deck, packing or flaking for the next set – as well as hoisting and sheet trimming. We had 26 winches on deck, but that was not enough to take all our sheets, gaff and boom vangs, downhauls, and so on. By the end our crew was exhausted, but with that kind of euphoric fatigue that comes with a race well sailed, with a body well exerted and well fed, with the promise of a cold beer as soon as the sails are flaked and the sun has moved to an acceptable position in the sky. It was a wonderful race. I know we would all be back to do it again next year if possible, and who knows – perhaps we shall be?

10 classic yachts competing at the Richard Mille Cup

The Richard Mille Cup is the newest regatta on the racing calendar that celebrates the pageantry and classic beauty of hand-crafted sailing yachts built before 1939 (or faithful replicas). Beginning in Falmouth earlier this month, the fleet of classics have worked their way across the Solent competing in a series of inshore and offshore races. As the inaugural regatta nears its final leg from Cowes to Le Havre, we take a look at the line-up of schooners and cutters vying for first place...

Length : 69.3m Builder : Van der Graaf Built : 1903

Commissioned by New York Yacht Club member Wilson Marshall, this three-masted schooner hit the headlines by winning the transatlantic Kaiser’s Cup in 1905. Atlantic covered a staggering 341 miles in 24 hours with an average speed of 14.1 knots. This world record would remain undefeated until 1998, making it the longest-standing speed record in the history of yachting. Atlantic was saved from the scrap yard on three separate occasions but unfortunately was broken up at the Newport News Harbor in 1982. Using copies of William Gardner’s original drawings, serial classic yacht restorer Ed Kastelein embarked on an extensive reconstruction project, and triumphantly relaunched Atlantic in 2010 with an identical sail plan and original lines.

Originally named Jessica, Adix remains one of the largest sailing yachts built since the 1930s. In the mid-late 1980’s she was bought and used as a promotional tool by Alan Bond, who named the yacht after his controversial beer XXXX. Interestingly, she was significantly shorter in the 80s than she is now. She underwent a massive cosmetic restoration in 1989 courtesy of Captain Paul Goss and naval architect Gerard Dijkstra . The subsequent refit included cutting the hull in half and adding a section, which brought her to her current length.

Length : 42m Builder : Herreshoff Built : 1915

This classic twin-masted schooner was built for Harold S. Vanderbilt, the naval architect who produced a succession of undefeated America’s Cup defenders between 1893 and 1920. Other notable owners include Canadian composer Walter Boudreau (who renamed her Janeen ) and Italian film producer and publisher Andrea Rizzoli, who had her restored at the Beconcini shipyard in La Spezia, Italy. Mariette and her sistership Vagrant are the last of the series still in service.

Length : 38.2m Builder : William Fife Built : 1911

As a descendant of Big Class racing and a precursor to the J-Class, Mariquita is the missing link in racing’s evolution. Once World War I broke out, she was sold and renamed Maud IV , where she spent five years safe in Scandinavian waters. She returned to Britain and resumed racing in 1924 until the outbreak of World War II when her luck run out. Sold and stripped of her rigging, sails, mast, and keel, Mariquita was moved to a mud berth where she spent 40 years as a houseboat. Restored by Fairlie in 1991, she set sail once more and has continued to take part in regattas, taking home the Big Boat Panerai Trophy in 2014.

Moonbeam IV is the last and largest of the four Moonbeams commissioned by eminent London lawyer Charles Plumtree Johnson. Construction started in 1914 but was not completed until 1920 due to the outbreak of World War I. Winning the Kings’ Cup in 1920 and 1923, a successful decade of racing followed until she was run out by the incoming J Class in the 1930s and the onset of World War II. In 1950 she was bought by Prince Rainier of Monaco and, for a time, settled into the quiet life. Renamed Deo Juvante (the Grimaldi family motto), Moonbeam IV took the newlyweds, the Prince and Grace Kelly, on their honeymoon.

Length : 28.7m Builder : William Fife Built : 1909

Built for the Duke of Medinacelli, friend to the King of Spain, Tuiga was designed identically to the King’s yacht Hispania so that they could race on equal terms. After collecting a string of second places, rumours spread that the Duke was holding back so as not to embarrass the King. The first 15-Metre to be restored at Fairlie, Tuiga has been owned by the Monaco Yacht Club since 1993 and is often skippered by Pierre Casiraghi, son of Princess Caroline of Hanover.

The Lady Anne

Length : 24.38m Builder : William Fife Built : 1912

The Lady Anne was built for Baron George Coats of Glasgow, who at the time of his death was one of the wealthiest men in Scotland. Commissioned in a bid to recover the coveted 15-Metre Cup from the Germans, Coats’ dreams were dashed by Charles Nicholson , who was drafting his revolutionary Marconi gaff-rig at the same time The Lady Anne was being built. She would end up adopting Nicholson’s rig only two years later. She is the sistership of fellow Richard Mille Cup competitor Tuiga.

Length : 19.2m Builder : J.G. Fay & Co (later Camper & Nicholson ) Built : 1903

Designed by Alfred Mylne, Kelpie is one of eight South Coast One Designs still in existence today and has lived through quite the underdog story. In 1914, she was accused of carrying artillery to be used against the Irish Free State government and in the 1960s, she was sold to Newton Ferrers Sailing School and suffered an interior fire that destroyed most of her interior. After a thorough restoration by Fairlie in 2014 (including a new rudder, stem, and sternpost), Kelpie went on to win her class in several regattas, including the Channel regatta, Mahon, and St. Tropez.

Length : 14m Builder : Aldous Ltd. Built : 1922

Designed for sailing in shoal waters, gaff cutter Ayesha is thought to be the only yacht ever designed by Arthur Boyes of Aldous Ltd. In 2001 she won her class in the Prada classic series in the Med, after sailing across the menacing Bay of Biscay to compete. She was bought in 2015 by serial classic yacht owner and restorer Richard Bond.

Length : 12.7m Builder : WT Jacket Built : 1910

This gaff cutter was commissioned by serial boat owner Henry S Norton, who entered Cynthia into various races in the Falmouth area. This included the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club’s Corinthian race in which Norton won the grand first prize of £3. Cynthia has been in Devon undergoing a meticulous, five-year restoration by retired rigger Peter Lucas , who first saw Cynthia decades prior while on holiday with his parents on the Isle of Wight.

Lady Lara Mega Super Yacht, is a motor yacht built in 2015 by Lürssen in Schacht-Audorf. She is owned by Israeli/Kazakh billionaire Alexander Mashkevitch. With an overall length of 91.00 m (298.56 ft) and a beam of 14.82 m (48.6 ft).

Built under codename Orchid, Lady Lara has a full displacement hull, aluminium superstructure and a 14.35 metre beam. Exterior and interior design comes from the boards of Reymond Langton Design, a decision influenced by the desire to create a harmonious balance between spaces inside and out.

Sweeping, sculpted curves give Lady Lara a feminine elegance and the interior reportedly flows just as sinuously. Lady Lara is a private yacht and following her maiden voyage to Norway, she headed to Florida, the Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean islands for the winter season.

Lady Lara features a displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.

This luxury yacht is also fitted with ‘zero speed stabilizers’ which work at anchor, increasing on-board comfort when the yacht is stationary, particularly in rough waters.

Who is alexander mashkevitch.

Mashkevich was born in Frunze, Kyrgyz SSR, Soviet Union, in 1954. His father Anton, a doctor born in Lithuania, and his mother, Rakhel Yoffe, a lawyer born in Vitebsk, were evacuated to Kyrgyzstan in 1941. His family background is Lithuanian Jewish.

He is a graduate of Kyrgyz State University where he studied philology. Mashkevich started out an academic career but became a businessman during perestroika. Mashkevich, Patokh Chodiev, and Alijan Ibragimov form “the Trio,” a group of Kazakh businessmen who became billionaires. The Trio gained control of the recently privatized chromium, alumina, and gas operations in Kazakhstan (some of the largest ones in the world).

Mashkevich is one of the owners of Alferon Management. Based in London, Alferon Management has acquired mining operations in different places: Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Kosovo, Russia, and other countries.

In 2010 he was on the Forbes list of billionaires at #287. In 2017, he was on the list at #1098, with a worth of $1.9 billions. Now his worth is 3 billion dollars.

The onboard atmosphere is bright and inviting with subtle finishes. The entertainment areas are open to provide more sheltered and intimate formal spaces.

The yacht has an extensive health and beauty center with a spa and an expansive beach club.

The beach club creates the perfect area for guests to enjoy indoor/outdoor living. There is also a swimming platform where guests can leap into the water below.

She has an on-deck jacuzzi to soak up the bubbles and the views. The yacht also has an elevator for convenient access to her different decks and a comprehensive gym onboard. The tender garage is brimming with towable toys and tenders.

Reymond Langton Design also contributed to the exterior design of the LADY LARA yacht. She was built by Lürssen and delivered from their Rendsburg shipyard in 2015. The exterior has sweeping curves and elegant but masculine features.

LADY LARA was code-named project Orchid when she was launched from the Lürssen Shipyard in 2015 and later renamed. She has a full displacement hull which gives her exceptional speeds in the water.

She has a white aluminum superstructure and teak decks throughout. The exterior is accented by underwater lights, which illuminate her at the night.

Y.CO has just welcomed the 298-foot Lürssen Lady Lara to the charter fleet. The lowest weekly base rate is $1.4 million for bookings this winter in the Caribbean and Bahamas.

The yacht is also listed for sale—at more than $254 million—for the first time since the German shipyard delivered it in 2015. Y.CO’s Max Bulley and Gary Wright, along with Merle Wood of Merle Wood & Associates, represented the yacht at the recent Monaco Yacht Show.

“With Lürssen quality and stunning Reymond Langton design, Lady Lara is an exceptional yacht that was conceived with family living in mind,” Wright stated in a press release. “Her adaptable spaces, variety and flexibility, in addition to all the amazing features like the breathtaking spa area, the beach club and two pools, are ideal for multigenerational groups and put Lady Lara into a league of her own.”

Accommodations are for 12 guests in their choice of eight staterooms (for private use, the yacht is built to accommodate 16 guests). Six of the guest staterooms are on the main deck, with one on the lower deck. The master suite has its own private deck with an exterior terrace, outdoor hot tub, and indoor library. The aft-deck space in the owner’s area is called a “winter garden,” with sliding glass panels that can be closed to shelter diners from the elements.

There also are two cabins for owner’s staff or supernumeraries, in addition to the yacht’s quarters for 27 crew.

Onboard amenities include an aft-deck pool whose floor can be raised to create a dance floor. A sound system on this deck helps to create a discotheque-style environment for parties. There’s another pool up on the sundeck, this one with a swim-up bar.

On the bridge deck, guests have access to the spa, which includes a hammam, massage room, treatment room, beauty salon and gymnasium. Guests who prefer to get their exercise outdoors can do so from the beach club at water level, which has a steam room and a sauna along with a sunbathing area.

For rainy days and relaxing nights, the lower deck aboard Lady Lara includes a cinema. There’s also a touch-and-go helipad on board, if guests want to escape to a different spot up the coast.

How fast can Lady Lara cruise? According to Y.CO, the yacht has a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots, which is plenty fast for exploring the islands.

Amadeus Description

Built by the famous Dynamique Yachts shipyard, and having undergone a total refit in 2018, S/Y Amadeus was designed to please the most demanding of yachtsmen. Built for smooth sailing, this elegant cutter rigged sloop has a sleek hull design, comfortably reaching top speeds of 12 knots and ensuring excellent sailing performance. S/Y Amadeus has just undergone this past winter (2018) a major refit such as total repaint top to bottom, new rigging (BSI Denmark), Novourania with new Evinrude 75hp outboard, Splash pool, new Bimini/Sprayhood/Awnings, new exterior fabrics and many other enhancements. In 2016 new “North Sails” were placed onboard. The yacht is maintained in excellent condition with a five-star crew year round. Her generous uncluttered teak deck offers plenty of space for sunbathing. The spacious and unique outdoor saloon has two tables seating upto 12 guests and is a perfect setting for outdoor dining and entertainment. Thanks to a special canopy and roll-up windows, the deck saloon has the added attraction that it can be fully enclosed, making it ideal for all weather conditions. Her forward area includes a splash pool and sun bathing area which can also be shaded with a removable awning. From the cockpit, a stairway leads to the light-filled spacious saloon offering ample seating, ideal for relaxing or enjoying a drink from the bar, and offers a formal dining area. This area also includes a LCD TV, entertainment center, ipod dock station, playstation, and is ideal for indoor activities. She can accommodate 10-12 guests in one full width master stateroom, two double bedded cabins each having one extra single bed and two twin bedded cabins which can be easily converted to double beds (upon request), thus, making her the only 5 double bedded sailboat in the Greek market. She also has a nice selection of toys which include water ski (adult and children), tubes, inflatable canoes, wakeboard, fishing rod and snorkeling gear.

CAPTAIN - Harry Fotopoulos Captain Harry is a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy and holds a Captain Class A’ Diploma. He also holds a Canadian Commercial Pilot license class B, sailing and speedboat license. He has over 15 years of experience onboard many types of Charter Yachts. He holds Certificates in GMDSS, Fire Fighting & First Aid, Personal Safety, Life Saving, and Ship Security. He has a great knowledge of the Greek islands and will navigate guests to remarkable destinations. During his one season on board he showed great leadership skills and received positive feedback from all guests. He is calm yet very outgoing and speaks very good English. DECKHAND - Konstantinos Santas CHIEF STEWARDESS - Mirella Davint Mirella has 8+ years of experience as a stewardess onboard charter and private yachts. She has a very pleasant personality and she aims to accommodate her guests to the fullest. Comments received from previous guests are memorable. This will be Mirella’s eighth season onboard. Mirella speaks English and she is 38 years old. ENGINEER - Stelios Mandos Stelios holds an Engineer Class B’ Diploma from the Greek Merchant Marine Academy as well as a Sailor’s License. He has over 15 years of experience onboard Ocean-Going Vessels and Charter Yachts. His hobbies include spearfishing and sailing. He speaks good English. Stelios is 45 years old, married with two children. CHEF - Thanasis Kiritsis Thanasis is 39 years old and has worked as a chef for more than 20 years in numerous hotels restaurants, yachts and resorts including owning his own pastry shop / bakery for 5 years. Thanasis looks forward to welcoming his guests on board and introducing them to his culinary world. He speaks good English and Greek. He is a young chef full of energy, skills and passion towards his job. We are confident that he will serve his guests unforgettable flavors. ASSISTANT STEWARDESS - Anastasia Yurash Anastasia is 31 years old and has been in the yachting industry since 2021. Her working experience includes 7 years as a housekeeper and assistant stewardess. Anastasia speaks very good English. One of Anastasia’s strongest attributes is her appetite for work. She is also very sociable, welcoming and looks forward to having guests on board S/Y Amadeus. Her hobbies include Latin dancing, snowboard and yoga.

This sailing yacht's generous uncluttered teak deck with a foredeck pool, offers plenty of space for sunbathing. The spacious and unique outdoor saloon has two tables, a bar and barbeque, a perfect setting for outdoor dining and entertainment. Thanks to a special canopy and roll-up windows, the deck saloon has the added attraction that it can be fully enclosed, making it ideal for all weather conditions. Accomodation is offered for up to 12 guests in 5 spacious cabins: the bow master cabin on AMADEUS features a double bed, vanity unit and generous storage facilities, as well as audio/visual entertainment. The en-suite bath includes a shower and separate large bath. Two double cabins with additional single bunks situated forward. Two twin cabins situated aft. All cabins with en suite facilities and audio/visual entertainment. Crew of 5 in separate quarters.

A General Description of Sailing Yacht AMADEUS

AMADEUS was previously registered as project/yacht name Amadeus 1er. This 33 metre (109 ft) luxury yacht was built by Dynamique Yachts in 1991. Sailing Yacht AMADEUS is a well proportioned superyacht. The yacht is a modern sloop with a cutter rig. The naval architecture office whom authored the design work on this ship was Philippe Briand. Luxury yacht AMADEUS is a quality yacht that is able to accommodate as many as 12 guests on board and has a total of 5 crew members.

Sailing yacht AMADEUS was built by the famous Dynamique Yachts shipyard .The yacht features superb sailing characteristics which are complimented by her spacious interior and abundant deck space. Sailing sloop AMADEUS can accommodate 10 passengers in five cabins. With one large master stateroom and four additional cabins which are all air conditioned and have en suite bathrooms. She also has two separate salons and a full dining room. The aft deck is fully covered with seating. The fore deck has an unique pool on deck and swimming in the sea is made accessible by a large swim aft platform.

The Construction & Naval Architecture relating to Luxury Yacht AMADEUS

Philippe Briand was the naval architect firm involved in the formal nautical design work for AMADEUS. Also the company Philippe Briand skillfully collaborated on this undertaking. In 1991 she was actually launched to triumph in Marans and following sea trials and final completion was afterwards passed on to the yacht owner. Dynamique Yachts completed their new build sailing yacht in France. A reasonable proportion is brought about with a maximum beam (width) of 7.5 metres / 24.6 feet. With a 3.6m (11.8ft) draught (maximum depth) she is reasonably deep. The material composite was used in the building of the hull of the sailing yacht. Her superstructure above deck is built with the use of composite. Over the deck of AMADEUS she is 32.7 (107.3 ft) in length. In 2004 extra refitting and modernisation was also finished.

Engines & Speed For S/Y AMADEUS:

She is driven by twin screw propellers. The main engine of the ship gives 375 horse power (or 276 kilowatts). She is equiped with 2 engines. The combined thrust for the boat is therefore 750 HP / 552 KW.

Bestowing bedding for a maximum of 12 yacht guests sleeping aboard, the AMADEUS accommodates them in style. Normally the vessel requires approximately 5 professional crewmembers to run.

Her master cabin features a walk around king bed, desk/vanity, and en-suite bathroom. Additionally, there are two guest cabins each with a queen bed convertible to two twins, and two guest cabins each with a queen bed and twin bed. Each guest cabin has an en-suite.

Her main salon has a spacious, contoured conversational area, along with a large, flatscreen T.V. The aft deck features al fresco dining with Bimini top. Up on deck there are sun pads and a splash pool for you and your guests to enjoy.

Watersports offered include a 15 foot tender with 75hp engine, water skis for adults and children, tube, wakeboard, kayak, fishing gear, snorkeling gear, and rendezvous diving.

Sailing yacht AMADEUS is a stunning 110 ft yacht available for charter in Greece. With a clean, spacious teak deck and a unique outdoor saloon that can seat up to 12 guests across two tables, it’s the perfect place for outdoor dining and entertainment. The deck saloon can also be enclosed with a special canopy and roll-up windows, making it suitable for use in all weather conditions. At the front of the boat, there’s a splash pool and sunbathing area with a removable awning for shade.

Inside the boat, a staircase from the cockpit leads to a well-lit and roomy saloon area with plenty of seating, including a formal dining area, bar, LCD TV, entertainment center, iPod dock station, and Playstation. Sailing Yacht AMADEUS can accommodate 10-12 guests in five large cabins, including a full-width master stateroom and two double cabins, each with an extra single bed. The two twin cabins can also be converted to doubles upon request, making her the only sailboat on the Greek market with five double beds.

To add to the fun, sailing yacht AMADEUS also comes with a range of water toys, including adult and children’s water skis, tubes, inflatable canoes, wakeboard, fishing rod, and snorkeling gear. She was built by Dynamique Yachts in 1996 and underwent a refit in 2014/2018.

ACCOMMODATION

Accomodation is offered for 10 -12 guests in 5 spacious cabins: Master cabin forward features a double bed, vanity unit and generous storage facilities, as well as audio/visual entertainment. The en-suite includess a large bath tub, shower and separate WC. Two identical double cabins with additional single bunks situated forward. Two identical double cabins situated aft which can be convertible to twins. (Total 5 double beds) All cabins with en suite facilities and audio/visual entertainment.

A professional crew of 5-6 members are accommodated in separate quarters.

Note that these specifications may vary slightly depending on the specific yacht’s configuration and modifications made by the owner.

Charter the AMADEUS

AMADEUS is a 110-foot sailing yacht that can accommodate ten to twelve passengers in five staterooms as follows: a spacious Owner’s stateroom with a double bed, a vanity and an entertainment unit including TV, DVD and music system; two cabins with a double bed and an additional single bed; two cabins with two twin beds each. All staterooms have en suite bathrooms, a TV, DVD and CD player. There are two separate salons onboard as well as a full dining room. The aft deck is fully covered and has seating for all guests to dine in the open air. Forward of the cockpit is a lovely cushioned area for sunning and an unusual pool is found in the fore of the yacht. Swimming in the sea is made accessible by the large swim aft platform.

There are 4 beds in total, including 1 queen, 1 double and 2 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 2 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.
