Syracuse forward Daniel Diaz-Bonilla and defender Buster Sjoberg have made the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Tournament Team, the conference announced Sunday. Of the 10 representatives, SU is one of four programs with players on the list, joining ACC Tournament Champion Clemson (four), North Carolina (three) and Louisville (two).

During SU’s three games in the ACC Tournament, Diaz-Bonilla tallied four goal contributions. All of them came in Syracuse’s 5-0 first-round victory over NC State. Against the Wolfpack, Diaz-Bonilla scored two goals and registered two assists, leading the Orange to a blowout win to open the tournament. While he didn’t accumulate any more goal contributions for the rest of the tournament, Diaz-Bonilla netted the game-winning penalty kick to defeat Virginia 1(5)-1(3) in the quarterfinals.

After missing the semifinal and the 2022 ACC Tournament Championship game due to a lower-body injury, Sjoberg helped SU display staunch defense during the 2023 conference tournament. His strong backline presence allowed the Orange to shut out NC State in the opening round, and hold UVA to just two shots on goal in the eventual quarterfinal victory.

Guide for NBA's In-Season Tournament: How does it work?

2022 ghost games tournament

NBA's In-Season Tournament officially begins Friday. This is the first year the NBA is doing the tournament, and all 30 NBA teams will participate. This tournament will be of much discussion this fall, and here is a guide to how the tournament works as well as other key information.

How does NBA's In-Season Tournament work?

NBA's In-Season Tournament contains two different stages: The first stage being Group Play and the second being the Knockout Rounds. As far as Group Play goes, all 30 teams have been divided into six groups of five teams (three groups per conference). These groups were crafted based off of the teams' regular season records in the 2022-23 season .

Each team will play one game against each opposing team in their group (four games total) on "Tournament Nights" that will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays through Nov. 28, (with the exception of Nov. 7, due to Election Day). Every team will play two games at home and two games on the road. These initial games are part of the regular season schedule. After that, the Knockout Rounds begin.

What group of the NBA's In-Season Tournament are the Phoenix Suns in?

The Phoenix Suns are part of the 'West Group A.' They are in that group alongside the L.A. Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers.

When is the Phoenix Suns' first NBA In-Season Tournament game?

The Phoenix Suns play their first NBA In-Season Tournament game on Nov. 10, at Footprint Center vs. the Lakers.

What are the Knockout Rounds in NBA's In-Season Tournament?

The team in each group with the best record during the group play games, as well as two wild card teams will advance to the Knockout Rounds of NBA's In-Season Tournament. The wild card teams will be one team from each conference that posts the best Group Play record from among the second-place teams in their group. The Knockout Rounds are single-elimination games over a three-round bracket of the eight teams that advanced.

The first round (Quarterfinals) of the Knockout Rounds will be played on Dec. 4 and Dec. 5. The four teams that advance to the Semifinals will be playing at neutral sites on Dec. 7. The Championship will be played at a neutral site as well on Dec. 9.

Do In-Season Tournament wins/losses count towards regular season records?

Every single game played in the NBA's In-Season Tournament will count towards the teams' regular season records that determine their standing for the NBA Postseason and NBA Play-In Tournaments, except for the Championship game. Every team will continue playing regular season games after the In-Season Tournament until every team has played 82 games.

Why is the NBA doing the In-Season Tournament?

The NBA has historically had a tougher time generating television ratings before Christmas Day, and therefore the league wants to generate more interest in the regular season early. Note how the tournament schedule is completed before Christmas Day. The NBA is expecting fans to have sparked interest in this tournament due to it being something more to play and compete for during the year than just the championship at the end of the postseason.

The NBA In-Season Tournament champions will earn $500,000 for each player on the team. Other incentives are still awarded for the other teams who make the Quarterfinals and Semifinals (in the form of $50,000 per player up to $200,000 per player). This is to draw incentive from the players to participate and compete to the fullest during the tournament during the load management era.

Are the courts played on during the NBA's In-Season Tournament different?

Different court designs will be implemented during every game of the NBA's In-Season Tournament. Each court will be one solid color, and a different colored-stripe will run through the middle of the courts. The courts will contain logos that nod to the tournament both at mid-court and in each key near the baskets.

Ghost Gaming Claim NSG Summer Championship Crown

Christian Wisniewski

While the heat ravaged the city of Philadelphia, 24 teams came to the City of Brotherly Love to wage battle at the Nerd Street Gamers Valorant Summer Championship . The cream of the crop of tier two Valorant waged war against tier one and tier one point five teams for their share of the $50,000 prize pool. With Pearl being enabled for the first time in major pro play in North America, it was the first chance for the scene to develop the meta. Over the course of the weekend, here is how the event went.

Day 1 Summary

The opening day of groups at the Nerd Street Gamers’ Valorant Summer Championship finals went almost as expected. In Group B, top seeds QoR and Native Gaming Black breezed through the group, with NGB only dropping maps to QoR in the upper final.

NSG Summer Champs

In Group C, the local tier two porterhouse Soniqs Esports fought their way into day two. Alongside them, Ghost Gaming qualified for day two of groups. The 7th place finishers in Stage 2 Challengers earned their spot in the first day of groups by only dropping 12 rounds in the Last Chance  Qualifier.

Among the teams in Group D, Nightblood Gaming and Virtuoso claimed their spots off of the back of strong chamber play form Add3r and Okeanos respectively.

Yet, the surprise of the first day of groups came from Group A. Nearest Airport, the top seed playing that day, claimed their sport in day two in a quick fashion with two 2-0s. While their success was expected, the failure to qualify for day two from City Boys was biggest shock of the day. The former Akrew roster ran through the Online Opens to qualify Summer Championship, but fell short two times to Roy’s Kitten Shelter, 2-0 and 2-1. The driving force behind RKS’s trip through the LCQ, through day one and into day two rested largely on the back of former Moon Racoons member Dark3st and former DarkZero Esports member ScrewFace showing why they are considered great players.

Day 2 Summary

Oxygen Academy's Virtyy

Day two saw many of the top team make their way into the top eight bracket on Day 3. Group A saw the veteran Nearest Airport (NA) squad fight through the winners side of the group by defeating Oxygen Academy in a heated match on and off the server. Speaking of Oxygen Academy, the young squad defeated a talented Zero MarksMen Black roster to earn their spot alongside Nearest Airport.

Group B ended in rather chalk fashion. The former SoaR Gaming roster breezed through the group stage without dropping a single map thanks to strong efforts from V1c and Bones. From the lower bracket, TSM Academy claimed the final spot out of Group B thanks to strong Fade play from Venture and duelist play from Sym.

During Group C play, Ghost Gaming, likely the best team in the tournament, took the upper finals in a dominant fashion over Cosmic Divide by dropping only four rounds. Despite their top seed in the group, Cosmic Divide failed to joining Ghost Gaming in the top eight. Instead, the legendary tier two roster Teal Seam claimed the final spot from Group C thanks to supreme sentinel and duelist play from d1msumboi and Cade3k respectively.

The last group, Group D, played witness to lower seed victories. Soniqs Esports did not drop a map on their way to the top eight thanks to strong duelist play from former XSET and Gen.G member PureR. Alongside Soniqs, Virtuoso claimed their spot in the top eight. The Canadian organization was on a run of strong results across the NSG Circuit.

Quarterfinals

The final day of the 2022 Nerd Street Gamers Summer Championships saw a tale of two halves of the bracket. On the bottom side of the bracket, Ghost Gaming and the ex-Soar Gaming roster dropped nine and ten rounds respectively on their way to a semifinal matchup. Ghost’s Koalanoob and ex-Soar’s V1c were their team’s MVPs, largely due to their dominant entry play.

The top half of the bracket saw two tightly contested three-game series. TSM Academy and Nearest Airport played on Haven, Pearl and Bind as the final map. Nearest Airport claimed the opening map in a tightly contested 13-8 affair, but their success did not last. TSM Academy bounced back and claimed Pearl, 13-9, and Bind, 13-8. No one player stood out throughout the series for either team and the final stats show that. In the end though, a titanic third map from Venture (22/10/5, 167 ADR, 275 ACS) secured TSM Academy a semifinal birth.

2022 ghost games tournament

The other tightly fought semifinal was Soniqs vs Teal Seam. Soniqs were poised to claim the opening map of the series, but Teal Seam won five of the last six rounds to claim Fracture 13-11. Then in map two, despite ending the first half down 3-9, Soniqs forced overtime by winning the last three round and claimed the map 14-12. With a spot in the semifinals on the line and Breeze as the decider, the match was primed for a good crescendo to the series. Yet, the young Teal Seam roster fell flat in the end. Soniqs ended the first half up 8-4, did not let up, and won the map 13-6.

v1c ex-SoaR Gaming

When the semifinals arrived, the two best teams in the tournament squared off in the semifinals. Ghost Gaming and ex-SoaR arrived on the main stage set for a heavyweight title fight. Yet, the first map was anything but that. Ghost Gaming Icebox to open the series to the resounding tune of a 13-5 score line. Come map two, ex-SoaR look poised to push the series to a third map after going up 8-4 on Haven’s defense side. Ghost Gaming rallied back on their defense by winning the last four rounds in regulation and claiming the map 16-14 and the match 2-0.

Back on the other side of the bracket, much like the quarterfinals, it was a tightly contested affair. Soniqs and TSM Academy traded map wins on opposing map picks to open the series. TSM Academy won Soniqs’ pick Fracture 13-9, while Soniqs did in kind on Bind in an attacker-dominated map 13-11. Once again, another series went to Haven to decide the fate of a team. The Soniqs, much like ex-SoaR went up 8-4 on the offensive side. Then, much like Ghost Gaming, TSM Academy won seven of the last eight rounds tp force OT and win the match 14-12.

Grand Finals

Ghost Gaming Aproto

The grand final paid witness to the tournament’s best team, Ghost Gaming, and the young sensations from TSM Academy. On Pearl, TSM Academy held with the titans to end the first half at an even scoreline. Yet, when they moved to the attack side on the second half, they ran into the big purple wall of Aproto’s Astra. His supers +15 second half helped Ghost close the first map of the series in 13-8 fashion. Despite giving Ghost Gaminig all they could handle on map one, TSM Academy swiftly succumbed to the veteran squad on map two. Aproto, koalanoob and the rest of the veteran roster punished the young TSM Academy squad to the tune of a 13-3 victory to claim the Nerd Street Gamers Summer Championship.

MVP: koalanoob, Ghost Gaming

Ghost Gaming koalanoob

Given their run from the LCQ to winning the event, the MVP of the tournament has to come from Ghost Gaming. While Aproto was the silent warrior and maybe their key player across the entire finals bracket, the true MVP of Ghost Gaming was koalanoob. He either topped or was top five in every major statistical category across the entire event. As their Chamber & Jett player outperformed every duelist he went up against in all but one map. In the grand finals, he was the player who topped the server. In short, koalanoob was that dude this weekend.

Ghost US Tour 2024 & Tickets

Ghost will continue to support their Grammy-nominated 2018 album, Prequelle, with a just-announced fall 2024 North American tour that promises to stage an arena-level production seen on select shows during the band’s 2018 run. The Swedish band will be joined by Nothing More for the six-week run.

Known for their elaborate stagecraft and costumes, Ghost’s fall tour will find the band performing a lengthy set against a backdrop that resembles a medieval cathedral, complete with stained-glass windows that depict the departed “Papa” incarnations played by lead singer Tobias Forge. Prior to their headlining tour, Ghost will spend the summer opening for Metallica on their 25-date “WorldWired” European stadium tour. Last June, Ghost honored Metallica with a cover of “Enter Sandman” when the metal legend’s received Sweden’s top musical honor, the Polar Music Prize.

Nothing More are known for a dynamic live show, as well, and will be out in support of their Grammy-nominated 2017 disc, The Stories We Tell Ourselves. While more dates are expected to be announced, this is likely the last time to catch Ghost before they hunker down to record their next album, which Forge has revealed will be released in 2020.

As well as hitting the U.S. next year for a co-headline run with Volbeat , Ghost have announced their own Imperatour.

With support from Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats and Twin Temple , the Swedish titans will be returning to the UK for four huge arena shows next April, stopping off in Manchester, London, Glasgow, and Birmingham.

The tour will also travel through Europe; following on from their UK dates, the Euro leg will begin on April 17 in Rotterdam, and finish up just over a month later in Budapest.

The news of Ghost's live dates follows the release of their first new music in two years, Hunter's Moon , at the end of September. And while that was for the recent Halloween Kills movie (so likely not a new album?!), the band did also unveil a brand-new Papa, so fingers crossed the follow-up to 2018's Prequelle is on the way…

Ghost band released a demo with three tracks and a 7-inch record entitled “Elizabeth” in 2010 and then their debut album of full-length Opus Eponymous. The track “Ritual” was picked by Kerrang! for inclusion in “The 50 most evil songs ever.” The Grammy-nominated album was extensively acknowledged and greatly made its way to the top of the charts.

Their second album and debut album Infestissumam came out in 2013 and debuted at the top of the charts in Sweden and was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Album. The group launched their third album of studio work, Meliora which came out in the year 2015 with great critical acclaim and record-setting sales. The album ranked number one in their native country of Sweden and eighth across the United States. The album’s opening track, “Cirice”, earned them the Grammy Award in 2016. Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. The group recorded their 4th studio album Prequelle which was released in the year 2018. They released their 5th album called Impera In 2022.

Before their 2022 Europe tour, Tobias Forge talked about the latest EP: “Won’t release an album until we know that we are actually going on tour. The album release will coincide with the start of a tour. The actual recording will last around six weeks and then there are two to three weeks of mixing and mastering. So sometime in March, the record should be finished, but it won’t be released until after the summer.”

In addition to that, on September 1st, 2022, Ghost dropped a brand new track entitled “Hunter’s Moon” that is included in the newest blockbuster installment of the cult series of films “Halloween Kills”. “Halloween Kills,” the “Halloween Kills” soundtrack was released on October 15th, 2022 through Sacred Bones, with the film opening in theatres (and Peacock) the same day.
