Ghost Recon Breakpoint weapon parts - farm standard weapon parts, how to upgrade guns

One of the more confusing bits of Ghost Recon Breakpoint is figuring out how to upgrade weapons. To do it, you'll need weapon parts and it's not easy to tell which things you need to salvage in order to get the things you need to upgrade your arsenal. Standard weapon parts do become very hard to come by after reaching a certain gear level and this can be infuriating.

How to get weapon parts in Ghost Recon Breakpoint

How to farm standard weapon parts at high levels in ghost recon breakpoint, salvaging locked weapons that aren't in presets.

• Upgrading weapons to Mk.2 and Mk.3

Every weapon or gear can be either sold for more cash at the shop or salvaged for weapon parts . What you get depends on the weapons or gear that you deconstruct. To salvage a weapon or gear part, hover over it with the mouse and hold the X button. Here is a list of all the parts you can get by salvaging your stuff:

• Gun part: Salvage a weapon. The part you get depends on the type of gun you salvage. For example, if you salvage a DMR, you'll get a DMR part.
• Metal part: Salvage any weapon. Can also find on downed drones.
• Standard weapon part: Salvage any grey weapon.
• Improved weapon part: Salvage any green weapon.
• Advanced weapon part: Salvage any blue weapon.
• High-End weapon part: Salvage any purple weapon. Can occasionally appear as loot dropped from support troops.
• Elite weapon part: Salvage any yellow "Elite weapon". Can rarely appear as loot dropped from support troops.
• Standard gear part: Salvage any grey armour piece.
• Improved gear part: Salvage any green armour piece.
• Advanced gear part: Salvage any blue armour piece.
• High-End gear part: Salvage any purple armour piece.
• Elite gear part:  Salvage any yellow armour piece.

Note that Signature Weapons, despite being yellow in colour, do not give any parts other than the weapon type part and standard metal parts.

At some point, you will find that basic weapons to salvage for upgrading your weapons disappear entirely. This can be aggravating, particularly if you decide on a new weapon you wish to upgrade. There is thankfully a workaround for this.

Head to the Sinking Country and look for the Aamon Assault Area in the peninsula in Sinking Country close to the Typhoon Bay bivouac. There are two drones here at around gear level 100. Provided that your gear level is sufficiently high enough, these two drones shouldn't prove to be much of a problem. The one thing to note however is that there's a wooden shack in the middle that you can use as a sanctuary to kill the drones from if you get overwhelmed.

These drones don't always drop standard weapon parts, but they more often than not do. However, they can also occasionally drop Improved weapon parts, which are also hard to come by at the levels where you're killing drones.

It's a nice little workaround, but there's one more step. The main problem is that the drones don't respawn immediately, not even if you fast travel back to the bivouac. There is however a solution to this. If you log out of the game after killing them and log back in, you should spawn somewhat nearby and the drones should be back for you to kill again.

The only other way to do farm these parts is to have the "Convoy Upgrade" perk and to go looting convoys, but this is far less consistent.

This is one of the more infuriating things about obtaining Ghost Recon Breakpoint weapon parts . When you go to salvage a weapon, it may state that you have it equipped to a preset and that you can't salvage it unless you unequip it. However, when you go to do so, you only have the one preset and it's made up of the weapons you have equipped already and not the ones it's saying it can't unequip.

The answer lies in the bivouac. Head there and look at the Tactics menu. Have a look at each of the classes one by one. You'll notice that the equipment is different and it's based on what you had equipped at the time at which you changed classes. Now that you know and that you've properly head-desked the table upon realising just how stupid this is, go ahead and press the button indicated to change the preset in the Tactics menu to the items you want. You should now be able to salvage the stuff you couldn't beforehand.

Upgrading weapons to Mk.2 & Mk.3

Now that you have some Ghost Recon Breakpoint weapon parts , how do you use them? Well, you'll need to head into the gunsmith, which can be done by pressing G while hoving the mouse over the weapon of choice. All upgrades are tied to every single one of that weapon. For the sake of clarity, we're going to refer to them as "weapon brands". This is to differentiate it from weapon types, which include Sniper Rifles, DMRs, Assault Rifles, etc. The "weapon brand" refers to whether it is an M93 or an M82.

To unlock an upgrade node, simply have the weapon parts required and upgrade it. Once you've unlocked all of the upgrade nodes for that weapon brand, it'll automatically be upgraded to a Mk.2 weapon, or Mk.3 weapon. Doing so will not only unlock more nodes for you to upgrade for that weapon brand, but you'll also unlock a permanent passive bonus for that weapon type. These are fixed for all weapon brands.

Remember that you cannot equip attachment to "temporary guns", so making them weaker than the original blueprint counterpart in immersive. When you decided on a weapon for long time, or even, as your go-to weapon, start upgrading the weapons to mk3. If you have too many skell cred and less material (and doesn't have any use for the money), temporarily activate gear score, buy weapons from the weapon shop and mass dismantle them for materials, before you go back to gear score off again. While weapon materials are easily procured with elite mission, it really helps by going to the shop. However, i only recommend you to do so after you bought everything you want to buy with skell cred.

With great mechanics for survival and dialogue choice, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint looks amazing as you run through well-crafted biomes.  Keep on delving further in the game, and you'll find yourself treading murky water.

Exploration with strict limits

Ghost Recon Breakpoint offers many great features but is limited heavily by all its flaws.

The Tom Clancy game series is like bullets flying in from every direction. Sometimes these hit their mark like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory or Rainbow Six Siege. Other times, though, they miss completely. In this case, the bullet that went astray is Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

To start you off, there’s a decent variety of classes for you to choose from. These include Assault, Panther, Field Medic, and Sharp Shooter. You can unlock new ones by spending your hard-earned skill points. There’s also a specific menu option that you can use to manage all of them.

You’ll need to set up camps if you want to survive. In these areas, you can craft selection gear and items quickly. This can be a great way to skip some grinds. These camps also act as both fast travel stations and a way to replenish your exhaustion meter.

If you stand still in an environment and watch it, you’ll notice some impressive visuals. The biomes are well designed and quite pleasant to view. If you’re playing the single-player campaign, though, you’ll be traversing the beautiful scenery on your own. The game has no friendly bots or companions to join you, which makes missions harder and the world a scarier place. The multiplayer mode adds players to your match, but the drop in difficulty can make the game feel underwhelming.

Where can you run this program?

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available for Windows 7 to 10, and has console versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Is there a better alternative?

Yes. Far Cry 5 is a first-person shooter that has smoother gameplay, a good story, and comes from a franchise that holds a similar reputation for quality as Tom Clancy’s. Otherwise, check out Rainbow Six Siege as a multiplayer alternative.

The title is slow, tiresome, and generally not worth putting effort into. Ghost Recon Breaking point offers combat, graphics, and mechanics that in the end, feel empty.

Should you download it?

No. If you’re looking for an engaging story and a top-notch title from the Tom Clancy series, you should look elsewhere.
