Home: Inside the star yacht of Below Deck Mediterranean season seven

Television network Bravo has confirmed the return of Below Deck spin-off Below Deck Mediterranean as the seventh season wraps up filming in Malta. The hit reality series, which follows a yacht crew over an eight-week charter season, will premiere its new season on July 11 with Captain Sandy Yawn at the helm of an all-new yacht named Home . Take a look inside...

The 50 metre Home was built by Dutch shipyard Heesen in 2017 as a 'home away from home' for her owner. It was one of the first superyachts of its size to feature a hybrid propulsion package, which makes her 48 per cent more efficient than other 50 metre yachts, and is the first diesel-electric motor yacht to appear on Below Deck .

The yacht was started on speculation and construction was already underway when her owner joined the project. Home 's lines were designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and inspired by another Heesen build, the 50 metre Sibelle . A vertical bow serves a dual purpose, helping the yacht to carve through waves, but also creating more room on the interior to place the crew accommodation. In order to stay under 500GT, Omega created walkaround decks with cut-out bulwarks that offer uninterrupted sea views from each of her two lounges.

The interior was started on spec but wasn't to the tastes of the owner, who brought in designer Cristiano Gatto to rework the design. The new brief was for a modern, comfortable interior; the keyword was simplicity, not minimalism.

Home can sleep up to 12 guests in six cabins: a full-beam master suite can be found on the main deck, while a full-beam VIP cabin, two double cabins and two twins are found on the deck below. The decor takes inspiration from the owner's on-shore properties with a contemporary, "Ibiza-style" feel. Low-slung sofas are featured throughout with a palette comprised of white, black, grey and a deep red.

The sun deck will be a popular spot with guests during the series. There's a sit-up bar shaded by a hard top as well as a Jacuzzi and a dancing pole. A quartet of sun loungers can be found aft with yoga mats tucked underneath, while a projector and a screen set-up can transform the deck into an outdoor cinema.

Another spot for riotous evenings is the sky lounge, which in effect is an extension of the outside deck with beanbags, day beds and teak flooring. The space is serviced by a bar and is a popular spot for lounging in the cool air and taking in the view. Alternatively, the doors to the aft deck can be shut, the furniture removed, a mirror ball and a smoke machine can be added and the area becomes a dedicated party room.

More fun can be found on Home ’s foredeck, in a telescopic seat that rises from the bow, allowing uninterrupted 360-degree views. It can even be used underway if the conditions are right.

Captain Sandy will be joined by returning Below Deck cast member and deckhand Mzi “Zee” Dempers, as well as a trio of new department heads.

Home is currently available for charter with Burgess starting from $245,000 a week. She is also jointly listed for sale with Burgess and Christie Yachts asking €29,500,000.

Here's Where the Cast of Below Deck Med Season 7 Is Now

We know you're wondering if the drama continued when the cameras stopped rolling.

below deck med s7

Below Deck Mediterranean is making its return for a seventh season and Bravo is giving us a first-row seat to the drama that goes down in none other than beautiful Malta.

While Captain Sandy Yawn will be returning, she’ll be in charge of a brand new superyacht and a mostly new crew. Captain Sandy welcomes back fan fave, Mzi “Zee” Dempers, who is returning as a deckhand.

This season’s superyacht, Home, becomes home to the newest crew members, chief stew Natasha Webb, chef Dave White, bosun Raygan Tyler, stew Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen, and deckhands Storm Smith and Jason Gaskell.

The trailer revealed loads of stormy moments, including a yachting emergency, shipwrecked romances, and a few crew clash-outs that point to this season being a bumpy but entertaining ride. So, as we welcome new names to the world of Below Dec k, we wonder what the cast and crew have been up to since wrapping up in the Mediterranean.

Captain Sandy Yawn

Natasha webb - chief stew.

Natasha Webb , or as she goes by, “Tash” reigns from West Yorkshire, England and has over a decade worth of yachting experience. The newest chief stew has been up to quite a lot since the show stopped filming. Webb found herself struck by the COVID-19 virus, falling ill back in December during a trip over to Dubai. Since recovering, Tash has certainly taken a liking to being on television after having filmed for a comedy series titled, Stay Safe . Natasha also works as the CEO of Indie Pearl , a yachting recruitment company, which has grown to two employees, Webb shared on Instagram, proving herself to be quite the busybody.

Dave White - Chef

While B elow Deck Med has not always been so lucky when it comes to its choices in chefs, it appears as if Chef Dave White knows what he’s doing. The UK-born culinary artist has countless years of cooking experience under his belt—including opening up his very own seasonal French-based restaurant . During his time post-filming, Dave underwent spinal surgery following a back injury. Since then, White has remained committed to being a chef but has also embarked on a physical and mental journey as he preps for his ascend up Mount Everest in 2023.

Raygan Tyler - Bosun

Raygan Tyler joins the Below Deck Med team as this season’s Bosun. While Malia White will no longer appear on our screens, it’s safe to say Raygan will be bringing a much different vibe than her predecessor. Tyler reigns from Essex, England and is officially the second female bosun to work alongside Captain Sandy. Rumors have already begun swirling that Raygan does not finish out the season, and ultimately gets replaced. In the r /belowdeck Reddit thread , Raygan allegedly leaves Home before she’s meant to, leading last season’s Courtney Veale to return. It appears Raygan prefers to live out her life in private, as her social media remains restricted to the public.

Natalya Scudder - Stew

Natalya Scudder is bound to bring her Aussie charm aboard this season’s Home as she takes on the role of first stew. Scudder wasted no time returning back to Australia following the show’s filming, however, she didn’t stay for too long. Natalya caught quite the travel bug, flying to exotic locations including Bali , Ibiza , and Cannes , to name a few. It’s evident Scudder is enjoying the spotlight as she’s now taken on the role of both reality TV personality and influencer. The Below Deck Med cast member has been spotted boarding private jets, posing in front of lavish Lamborghini’s, and sipping champagne in Cannes. By the looks of it, Natalya is currently single, as she prefers to “catch flights, not feelings.”

Kyle Viljoen - Stew

Kyle Viljoen joins this season of Below Deck Med as a stew and he is certainly suited for the job. While Kyle was born and raised in South Africa, he’s since relocated to New York City . Earlier this year, Kyle posted the cutest pic of him and his partner, Zachary after making the decision to move in together. Since then, Kyle has been living his best life in the Big Apple, all while getting his travel on to an array of dreamy destinations across the Americas including Vermont , Colorado, and Costa Rica.

Storm Smith - Deckhand

Storm Smith is often described as a “modern-day pirate,” as he brings aboard his South African flare and adventurous vibe. After wrapping up filming, Storm went from yachtie to globe trotter as he participated in deep dives in Florida , hikes in Sri Lanka , and snorkeling in the West Indies all before heading back home for a quick visit. Today, Smith resides in Italy , taking in all that the stunning country has to offer including trips to the Amalfi Coast and Lake Como. While Italy may not be his forever home, it’s safe to say that Storm, who is a self-declared olive addict, isn’t going to be settling down anytime soon.

Jason Gaskell - Deckhand

Jason Gaskell boards the Home in his very first superyacht experience. The Florida Keys-native spent a decade working in finance before making his way over to a world of living and working at sea. Since the show wrapped, Jason has also caught the travel bug traveling to an array of breathtaking spots including Seychelles, and the French Alps, per ScreenRant . While Gaskell keeps his socials private, he’s all about making his business public. Jason owns and runs his very own clothing company, called Sextant Sailing, which caters to sailing, traveling, and custom nautical clothing.

Mzi “Zee” Dempers - Deckhand

Fan favorite deckhand, Mzi “Zee” Dempers is making his return for a second season, and happily so. The South African yachtie is the only returning cast member alongside Captain Sandy, making it clear he’s a Below Deck force to be reckoned with. Zee has since returned home to Cape Town, but not before venturing to a few stellar spots including Paris, and Nice. While he’s grown quite the following, the Bravo star took some time away from social media , but rest assured, he made his comeback. “Hey guys, I know it’s been a while! I’ve been super unresponsive to messages and things, but have just been back at home experiencing summer with friends, family, and getting into a new work routine. Hence been off of social media, but I’m back at it,” Zee wrote. During this time, Dempers managed to reunite with his former castmates, Courtney and Lloyd in his hometown of Western Cape, a reunion we didn’t know we needed so badly.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 7: release date, cast, trailer and everything we know about the reality series

It’s time for Captain Sandy to sail back onto TV screens.

Captain Sandy Yawn upset on Below Deck Mediterranean

With Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 wrapping up, Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 comes just in time for those that like their reality TV drama on the Seven Seas.

This new season will be similar to longtime fans of the show in that Captain Sandy is again at the helm of the ship leading both guests and crew. However, what will be different this go-around is actually most of the crew. The unfamiliar faces are sure to add a refreshing twist on the now reality classic.

However, one shouldn’t forget that no Below Deck crew is without its hint of chaos, regardless of who is working. Viewers can expect Captain Sandy’s new bunch to certainly have their fair share of lover spats and work disagreements, all while trying to balance the personalities of some unforgettable yachting guests.

Here’s everything we know about Below Deck Mediterranean season 7.

When is the Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 release date?

Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 premieres with a supersized episode on Monday, July 11, at 8 pm ET/PT. The episode becomes available the next day over on Peacock . Speaking of Peacock, the streaming giant is offering subscribers early access to the premiere episode beginning on Monday, July 4.

Below Deck fans in the UK should be able to access the new season on Peacock via both Sky TV and NOW.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 premise

Bravo describes the new season of Below Deck Mediterranean as the following:

"Captain Sandy brings 163-foot motor yacht 'Home' to the pristine waters of Malta, one of the smallest and most historic archipelagos in the world. Different than previous charter seasons, Sandy is working with a complex hybrid vessel making it more unpredictable to navigate. To ensure smooth sailing this year, Sandy brings on a trio of new department heads, but when surprising friction in the galley intensifies between the Chief Stew and Chef, who came onto the boat as colleagues and friends, tension permeates through the entire boat.

"Meanwhile, the deck team faces an uphill battle when one crew member is unable to adapt to the high demands of Mediterranean super-yachting, forcing others to pick up the slack. From difficult charter guests to roller-coaster ‘boatmances’ and challenges with hierarchy on board, these yachties go to unthinkable lengths to survive the charter season."

Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 cast

There are only two familiar faces returning to the new season of Below Deck Mediterranean . One of those happens to be Mzi "Zee" Dempers. The deckhand was quick to become a fan favorite during season 6.

The other cast member back for another yacht season is of course, Captain Sandy Yawn. What would this series be without Captain Sandy leading the crew and appeasing the charter guests? With over three decades in the industry and going on six seasons on Below Deck Mediterranean , she has done a phenomenal job at earning the respect of her yachting peers and the adoration of Bravo fans.

Joining Dempers and Captain Sandy this season are Chief Stew Natasha Webb, Chef Dave White, Bosun Raygan Tyler, Stews Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen and Deckhands Storm Smith and Jason Gaskell.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 trailer

After watching the trailer, we aren’t sure whether to be more enamored with the various romantic pairings this season or the fact the yacht appears to take a few hits on the open waters. Take a look for yourself.

By the way, now that fans of the Below Deck universe have managed to get a real sense of Captain Jason from Below Deck Down Under after his first season, we can’t but wonder who tends to be more entertaining when laying down the law, him, Captain Lee from Below Deck or Captain Sandy from Below Deck Mediterranean . Captain Lee for sure makes it crystal clear when he’s had enough of the antics from the crew or from guests. On the other hand, seeing Captain Sandy take someone to task, especially guests, is slightly more comical. What do you think?

Check out the video below to get a friendly reminder of some of their most memorable confrontations.

Watch the 'Below Deck Mediterranean' Season 7 Trailer -- and Find Out the Premiere Date

'Below Deck Mediterranean'

Bravo also announced the premiere date for the upcoming season.

Below Deck Mediterranean   is making its return! On Tuesday, Bravo announced that the show's seventh season will premiere next month, and gave fans a peek at what's to come with a dramatic trailer.

Captain Sandy Yawn is ready for a new adventure, as she says in the trailer, "This is my first time ever in Malta. This season for me, it's a new place, a new boat, with new department heads. Challenge accepted!"

That new boat, a complex hybrid vessel that's more unpredictable to navigate, is full of new members including three new department heads, Chief Stew Natasha Webb, Chef Dave White and Bosun Raygan Tyler.

"As the Chief Stew, when s**t hits the fan, the best thing to do is feed them alcohol," Natasha says with a laugh, as Dave confidently tells the cameras that he "loves" and "thrives" under pressure.

It won't be all happy times, though, as the show's press release teases that, throughout the season, surprising friction intensifies between the Chief Stew and Chef, who came onto the boat as colleagues and friends, causing tension to permeate through the entire boat.

Meanwhile, the deck team -- which is comprised of the returning Mzi "Zee" Dempers, and newcomers Storm Smith and Jason Gaskell   --   faces an uphill battle when one crew member is unable to adapt to the high demands of Mediterranean superyachting, forcing others to pick up the slack.

On top of all of that -- and the addition of new Stews Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen -- the network promised that fans can look forward to seeing difficult charter guests, roller-coaster "boatmances," challenges with hierarchy on board, and trouble with the boat itself throughout the season.

"I have never hit anything in my career. Ever," Captain Sandy says in the trailer as the yacht appears to hit something in the water. "F**k."

Below Deck Mediterranean   season 7 will premiere with a supersized episode on Monday, July 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Every episode can also be seen on Peacock one week before it airs on Bravo, beginning with the premiere on Monday, July 4. Fans can catch up on previous seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean  on Peacock now.

Below Deck Med Season 7 cast: Meet the new yachties and returning crew member

Meet the Below Deck Mediterranean Season7 cast members.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7 cast features several new yachties and at least one familiar face in the crew.

After weeks of Below Deck Med fans waiting for details on Season 7 of the hit yachting show, Bravo released the premiere date, trailer, and cast details this week. It was no surprise that Captain Sandy Yawn was back for another stint.

Below Deck Med Season 6 fan-favorite Mzi “Zee” Dempers returns to the deck team. However, Zee is the only returning crew member.

That means Captain Sandy has all new department heads for the first time in her series run. Well, except for when she first premiered on the show.

The interior team

Chef Dave White takes over the galley, with years of experience as a head chef and a seasonal restaurant in France under his belt. Dave is an adventure junkie who loves to travel. A career in yachting allows Dave to combine all of his passions, prompting him to leave the London restaurant scene behind.

Natasha Webb steps into the chief stew role, taking over for Katie Flood . The English beauty has been in yachting for over ten years, showing off her talent for planning parties and coordinating events. Natasha poses a fair leadership style with a little flare on the side.

Kyle Viljoen and Natalya Scudder round out the interior crew. The resemblance between Natalya and Natasha goes beyond their looks and names.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kyle Viljoen (@kylethebold)

Natalya knows how to make things happen, especially when it comes to guest requests. Her tablespaces are on point, as is her entertaining style that’s filled with laughter.

South African native Kyle has been breaking down barriers in the yachting world for years. Kyle brings his wealth of experience in the hospitality industry and his no fear of confrontation to the new team.

Raygan Tyler takes over for Malia White as bosun, possessing both interior and exterior experience. She has faced many challenges climbing the ranks in a male-dominated industry and knows how to stand up for herself.

Storm Smith is also from South Africa and spent years working in other industries before finding his fit in yachting. The industry allows him to full his desire to be on the water, kicking off his career on a surfing and diving yacht. Storm’s light-hearted personality makes him quite the charmer.

Last but least is deckhand Jason Gaskell whose stint on the Below Deck Med marks his first time working on a motor superyacht. Jason spent ten years in Finance, where he traveled the world and discovered his love of sailing. Since then, Jason has worked to hone his skills in yachting.

That’s quite a crew working for Captain Sandy Yawn this season. To watch the full trailer and new cast in action, click here.

Below Deck Mediterranean Recap: Scandal at Sea

Below deck mediterranean.

below deck med yacht season 7

If you, like me, open your Instagram only to be bombarded by everyone and their mother vacationing in Italy or Greece, just flip on  Below Deck Mediterranean  to join in on the action. We are back with our fearless leader Captain Sandy and hitting the high seas of Malta aboard the  Home , a 163-foot sleek superyacht.

Readers, I want to be up-front. I am a Bravo bitch through and through. I remember tuning in to the early seasons of  The Real Housewives of Orange County  in middle school. However, I am new to  Mediterranean . That being said: I already miss Malia. I barely knew her, and yet I mourn her. Our new bosun Raygan Tyler is incapable of doing anything besides taking a cheeky cig break, and her deckhand boys are mere minutes away from rising in mutiny to overthrow her. Even Captain Sandy is already at her wit’s end, just three episodes in! This, however, is nothing compared to the bombshell of Dave and Natasha’s furtive relationship. We have so much to cover, and we’re just getting started! Buckle up, babes, because we are setting sail.

Let’s break down Dave and Natasha from the beginning. The big reveal of tonight’s episode is that we know now the couple is an actual couple. For those who missed their history, the two just got off working on another ship together before coming aboard  Home . Natasha sings his praises to Captain Sandy before he arrives, and when they reunite, there is obvious chemistry. I didn’t think the pair were secretly boyfriend and girlfriend, but I did think they were friends with benefits or at least had crushes on each other. Because there are only three female crew members, Natasha volunteers to room with Dave — this move made me a petit peu suspicious but also appreciative of her taking one for the team. She’s chief stew, after all, so if anyone has to bunk in co-ed quarters, it should be her. Call me naïve, but I wasn’t even fazed by her asking Dave if he wanted to screw on the first night, but in hindsight, his affirmative nod definitely comes from a man in love, not lust.

Fast-forward to tonight’s episode. The crew is out on the town after wrapping up their first charter (more on this, primary guest Billy Rodriguez, and Kyle’s dildo pranks later) and eating good after securing a fat $27,000 tip. Natalya and Kyle suspect a romance between Dave and Natasha, and Natalya takes her chance to grill the chef about it when Natasha gets up from the table. There is a clear shift in Dave’s energy. He’s hiding something. He’s even cagey during his confessional. Then, we get the truth: Natasha and Dave are dating! And their relationship started on the last boat … while she was still with her ex-boyfriend.

Dave spills all the tea here. He reveals that they agreed to keep their relationship on the down-low for a week, so Natasha could keep her timelines clear. Thanks for blowing up her spot, Dave! Anyway, Dave waxes poetic about their affair, citing the passion of sneaking around, while Natasha shares how Dave won her heart by paying her lots of compliments like, “You look rad!”

A lot more is making sense to me now. Remember in the second episode when Natasha and Jason were innocently flirting in the galley, and Dave looked on with a vengeance, completely pausing his meal prep? Well, now we know it’s because, at the time, Natasha was his girlfriend! Of course he was pissed! Please don’t mistake this admission for actual empathy for Dave. Though I’m known to be horny for chefs (hello,  The Bear !), Dave’s jealousy jumped out and turned me right off. After he admits to Natalya that her instincts are correct and there’s more between him and Natasha than they let on, he goes 0 to 100. Natasha says she feels suffocated, and Dave makes passive comments about Jason to Natasha (referring to him as her lover) before drunkenly trying to fight him. Jason, meanwhile, pulls a Meredith Marks and gorgeously disengages. Once they get back to the boat, Natasha sleeps in the guest cabin while Dave sobs himself to sleep. Dark.

The next day, Dave and Natasha messily text each other before presumably fucking in the shower for a solid 28 minutes, according to Bravo. Really looking forward to how this plays out!

Okay, now that Datasha is out of the way, let’s talk about the flop that is Raygan (and yes, every time I spell out her name, an angel loses its wings). How did this girl get the job? She simply sucks at it! She has zero direction, abysmal leadership skills, and no alcohol tolerance to speak of. The morning after the crew’s first night out, she pukes and crawls back into bed, despite new guests arriving in mere hours. She drags herself to the preference sheet meeting, where she claims she’s sick. Captain Sandy sees through these lies and tells her it’s “called a hangover.” Captain Sandy gets harsh with Raygan in this episode not once, not twice, but three times. She warns her that she’ll be pissed if the water sports aren’t out and inflated first thing each morning, and lo and behold, Raygan fails once again. She tries to throw Jason under the bus and breaks the cardinal rule of openly fighting with him in front of the guests, who turn back to watch the show a number of times.

This sends Captain Sandy over the edge. “Raygan,” she calls out, “come here for a second … It’s complete chaos back there.” Raygan starts to make excuses, which Captain Sandy swiftly stops. “I don’t want to hear you complain. I want you to do your job,” she tells the bosun. Raygan is walking on thin ice here, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets fired within the next couple of episodes. I’m sure her deckies — Mzi, Jason, and Storm — would be more than happy with that outcome. Side note: I love all three of these boys — especially Mzi, whom Captain Sandy clearly favors and is aligned with — but feel like Jason might go crazy? I also think Storm and Natalya will hook up shortly.

Natalya, the second stew who could pass as Natasha’s twin, could also easily have a second career as a laundry livestreamer. This girl loves laundry more than life, and I predict she will have a lot of success in the ASMR-livestreaming space. Kyle, the other second stew, would probably also find online fame. Call me a conservative, but I was in utter disbelief that Kyle pulled the dildo stunts with the first charter. Tacky and unprofessional! Clearly, the guests were cool with it, as they tipped well and praised the interior team, but I wonder what Captain Sandy would say about his role-playing and generally relaxed demeanor around guests. If he keeps this attitude up, time will tell.

From the Galley

• First primary guest Billy Rodriguez sending back his rare Wagyu steak made me feel so ashamed to be American. I felt wildly victorious on behalf of the crew after he double-checked his preference sheet, only to discover he never noted his hatred of cinnamon.

• When the boat lost function of its stabilizers, I thought the whole crew were goners. Those who watch  Below Deck Sailing Yacht  were definitely experiencing some PTSD from the anchor watch gone wrong earlier this summer.

• I think that Natasha could give Tom Sandoval a run for his money in the bespoke-cocktail department. Those pineapple upside-down cake shots?!

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7 - Here's What We Can Tell Fans So Far

Below Deck Mediterranean Captain Sandra Yawn smiling

"Below Deck Mediterranean" brings the behind-the-scenes charter yacht drama while the crew puts on a good-time front for their guests. Captain Sandy Yawn may want to run a tight ship, but things are never just smooth sailing. In an August interview with Boat International , Captain Sandy expressed her frustration. "When you're from the charter world, you're used to having the best charter crew on the planet," the skipper said. "And then you step on board Below Deck and the chief stew has no experience," she lamented.

How do you keep guests happy with inexperienced staff? Luckily, she has crew members like bosun Malia White and chief steward Katie Flood, who have been around for a couple of seasons. The captain can rely on the deck boss and chief stew to help her keep things running smoothly.

Captain Sandy also appeared on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" to talk about "Below Deck Med" Season 6, per Bravo . She had high praise for her crew aboard the Lady Michelle. "The crew were amazing this year, to be honest," she raved.  "They bonded from the very beginning. Yes, there were a couple that didn't, but, you know, overall they were just a happy crew. They gelled immediately," she said. Of course, that begs the question about whether a seventh season of "Below Deck Med" will materialize and whether the cast will also get along as well as the Season 6 crew.

Below Deck Mediterranean's Season 7 release date

The "Below Deck" franchise continues to be ratings gold for Bravo. In addition to the original show, "Below Deck Sailing Yacht," and "Below Deck Mediterranean," Bravo announced two more spinoffs : "Below Deck Adventure" and "Below Deck Down Under." It's almost guaranteed that there will be a seventh season of "Below Deck Mediterranean."

Avid fans of the show took to Reddit to post photos that may indicate that the cast and crew of "Below Deck Med" Season 7 may already be filming. According to Starcasm , Malta could be the crew's next destination. One Instagram post also appears to back the social media sleuths' claims. Lovin Malta posted video footage in mid-September. It appears as if Captain Sandy Yawn and other crew members are aboard a luxury yacht in the location. The post read, "The crew behind a well-known reality series have been spotted filming in Malta — again!" The post continued, "This time, footage emerged of Captain Sandy, having returned to the helm for the filming of season six of @belowdeckmedbravo in Birgu."

If the reports and photos are correct, the reality show would have been renewed. The Cinemaholic predicts that the release date "Below Deck Med" should follow a similar pattern as previous years. Because new seasons tend to air around May or June, fans may expect Season 7 in early summer.

Who's returning to Below Deck Mediterranean?

One thing that irks Captain Sandy Yawn is that sometimes, her crew has sighed on to "Below Deck Med" for the wrong reasons. Not only does she then have to deal with a "green" crew, per Boat International , but she also has to motivate them to work. "When someone doesn't have passion for the job or is just there to be on TV and hope their career is going to take off, that is hard for me. I don't have time for it, and you can always tell — the camera never lies," Captain Sandy said to Boat International in August.

As Captain Sandy has been at the helm since Season 2, it seems likely that she will return. Starcasm  reports that there are plenty of new faces aboard the Home, but the Lovin Malta  Instagram video shows that Mzi "Zee" Dempers and possibly Courtney Veale may also be on the yacht.

According to a Reddit thread , one photo shows that a new chef may also make an appearance. Fans were quick to note that the photos and video don't show Malia White aboard the ship. A possible reason could be that she had a scooter accident in June, per Page Six . She sustained some injuries from the crash and, therefore, may not have been available for the new season of the reality show.

New cast members for Below Deck Med — and a death

"Below Deck" Season 6 viewers may remember that Mathew Shea quit the show, per Bravo , for the second time. The chef revealed to Bravo Insider that he was "overwhelmed about the whole experience." Therefore, when one Reddit user commented that a new crew member could be an experienced yachting chef, Starcasm decided to investigate. Apparently, the new cook could be a restauranteur called David White. They reported that White had taken to his Instagram Stories to share video footage and pics of himself in a location that appears to be Malta.

While viewers may welcome new faces in "Below Deck Med" Season 7, one past crew member isn't coming back. Those who have been following the reality show since the beginning may remember Captain Mark Howard , who ran a tight ship in the first season. Howard died on October 28, per People , at the age of 65. According to TMZ , his wife Susan Howard found his body when she returned from an out-of-town dog show. A police report stated that Mark's body was covered in boxes that had seemingly fallen on top of him.

Some cast and crew paid tribute on social media, including former chief stew Hannah Ferrier , who wrote , "Rest In Peace my friend. You were a great captain, friend and colleague. Always the gentleman." Hannah added, "You will be missed."

Captain Kerry dishes on 2 dramatic Below Deck exits: 'Things were getting pretty hostile'

"That's probably the fastest departure in 'Below Deck' history."

Warning: This article contains spoilers for  Below Deck , season 11, episode 7, “Cat's Out of the Bag.”

Below Deck 's Captain Kerry Titheradge called Monday night’s episode a “corker” during a recent Instagram Live — and he wasn’t kidding.

During a single charter, two crew members left St. David; bosun Jared Woodin was fired and stew Cat Baugh left for personal reasons.

Tonight's episode, aptly named "Cat's Out of the Bag," saw Captain Kerry lowering the boom on Jared following a drunken altercation with deckhand Kyle Stillie. But the heated discussion in the crew mess wasn't the only reason Jared was let go. During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Captain Kerry shed more light on why he dismissed the bosun.

Though he anticipated firing Jared, he wasn't prepared for what he calls "the fastest departure in Below Deck history" when Cat needed to leave the boat immediately.

Below, Captain Kerry shares how his mental health journey and being on Below Deck Adventure changed who he is today and greatly impacted how he handled the two crew departures.

Fred Jagueneau/Bravo

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I feel like there's been kind of a buildup this season to what happened on this episode. We've seen Jared not know his distances and get very emotional, and then poor Cat's been having a hard time as well. How soon into the season did you know they might be struggling?

CAPTAIN KERRY TITHERADGE: Off the bat, like day one. The thing is, you can know it, but also you try to change the direction. There were other crew [members] I was concerned about too — and that's going to come out in future episodes, where we were able to work with them, where they were getting to a point of breaking as well. So I don't know. I think when you've gone through something pretty emotional, it makes you more aware of where people are at.

You shared your story with Jared and you really connected with him, so I want to talk about him first because he seemed to unravel quite quickly from that one phone call that he couldn't get through, and then it came to a head in the crew mess after Kyle spilled tobacco near the hot tub and Jared let him have it. We've seen crew members go crazy on the boat and party and scream and yell. How bad was the fight between Jared and Kyle that it woke you up?

I mean, it woke me up. Things were getting pretty hostile. Again, this happened a while ago, so there's only so much we can actually show [on air], but I was aware of where he was at. I put pressure on Jared and I do it with all my guys... it's a yacht. I know there's a TV show behind it, but it's a yacht and I have standards, and my standards are that I'm not waking up to a mess in the hot tub. And I'm nice enough to not go up there straight away and check. I've seen other episodes of Jared running around in the morning making sure [everything is cleaned up]. So I mean, that's pressure I've put on him, but that's the pressure I'd put on anybody to make sure it's right.

So things are getting wound up. And really, Kyle has tobacco up there, I mean, if I would've seen it up there, [Kyle] probably would've gone home. Because you don't do loose tobacco in a hot tub. That stuff gets on a teak, it gets on the paintwork. It'll stain. So [Jared] had a good reason to be doing what he was doing, but he wasn't in the right state to be dealing with it at that time.

I watched it again, and I don't see all those steps. I just hear this noise. I was really woken up earlier. I want the crew to have a good time, but they shouldn't be having a good time at my expense.

So did you know that night you were probably firing [Jared] the next day?

I was already thinking through where he was at. And the problem is when you're on your last warning, people don't usually get past a second warning and survive because there's too much pressure. And I can see him struggling. And I've got reports that he was drinking that night and I told him to stop the piss. You're going through a lot of s--- right now, mate. And there were more conversations than what we can show. We don't have enough time.

But there were more times I spoke with him about going through what he's going through and getting his head straight and being in the game and that alcohol is not going to help you make the right decisions. It's going to make things worse. And he told me that he would back off the booze, and that was from that first crew party. When I saw him break the glass, I left. I'm like, man, I want the crew to have their fun. But the other thing that people aren't fully aware of is my responsibility as a captain isn't just what happens on the boat. So if my crew is getting too drunk and they hurt themselves on the beach or falling out of a cab, that's my responsibility.

Do you think Jared could have been drinking a little on charter?

If I would've smelled it, he would've been off the boat faster than Cat was. So it never entered my mind that that was happening. What was happening is you hit the booze hard and then the next day you're not going to function as well. And what I wasn't aware of was Ben undermining him. So he had to constantly deal with being undermined, keeping his head cool. He [couldn't get through to] his daughter, the job, me... he had pressure from everywhere,

And you really tried to work with him. I also have to ask, what was the deal with his [Wi-Fi] signal? I noticed he was on the boat, he couldn't get through to his daughter, but then he was on land trying to get through.

I've seen a bit of chatter about that online because they see me talking to my kids and then him not. I'm on the bridge. He's trying to contact his daughter down in his room. It's like being inside a high-rise or in a basement. So that could address that issue. I offered him to use my phone more than one time to speak to his child. In the last episode, he had an iPhone and his regular phone beside him. I don't know whether he borrowed a crew member's phone or what, but maybe it was the other side. Maybe other things were happening in Alaska that weren't lining up. Do you know what I mean?

I will say that was one of the most graceful firings I've seen on Below Deck . He was being fired, but in the end, he left feeling okay. So kudos to you.

I was worried about him. I'm getting a little emotional thinking about it. I'm going back there. I've been in that low spot where I don't know if I can find a way out of this.

I've been there and what did I do? I quit my job and I came ashore and painted houses. I got out of there. I had to put the ego aside. I'm running a 300-foot yacht. I'm in the pinnacle of my career. I'm in the Maldives. I've always wanted to be here. I've been working so hard to get there, and I've got to take care of this. I've got to be there for my kids. How hard it can be? So if I never had been there and we'd go to the Captain Kerry of 10 years ago, you'd see a different person talking. I wouldn't be as gentle. I'd be pissed off and I would've made his mental health worse because I would've just drilled him to the ground. "You'd let me down. You had the opportunity. You keep f---ing up." You know what I mean? That was the way that I grew up in the industry. The boat doesn't change for you. You change for the boat. And a big part of me changing is not only my experience in that, but when I shot [Below Deck] Adventure , I was already on that train of mental health and stuff, but also able to see myself and have that opportunity to see [myself] from someone else's perspective,

And then to see behind the scenes how that's affected somebody in a positive or negative manner. So the show in itself has made me a better captain, a better partner, a better father, a better human being.

Well, it shows. Have you talked to Jared since? How's he doing?

I got with him before the first episode because I didn't know how they were going to portray him, and I wanted to make sure he was okay. Just let him know, look man, I know you're in a bad headspace. Got any problems, give me a call. I got with Cat, but Jared was in town, so he came to my house. We went and got a burger. I invited Jared to the watch party last weekend.

So he's doing well. Did Jared say that firing him was probably the best thing you could've done for him?

A hundred percent. A hundred percent. And he brought his dad to come to my watch party and his dad thanked me.

And then we have Cat. We don't know exactly what it was, but it seems like whatever happened was horrific. What was going on there?

I knew that she was having challenges by just seeing her move around. I'm surprised by how much trouble she was having at the job and how gracious Xandi was in training her. But it breaks my heart to see how much Cat was crying. And then she would come out and have to put a brave face on.

But she was really struggling. And as soon as I found out that she was in that bad place, I mean, there's no editing there. I'm bringing the port control. I'm ringing local Coast Guard. I'm ringing everybody. I could just see it in her face. I didn't need to know what was going on. It didn't matter what it was. To her, it was catastrophic. And that's something else I've learned on my journey is that it's real to that person who's going through it. It doesn't matter if it doesn't affect you or how insignificant it may seem. It's real to them.

That's probably the fastest departure in Below Deck history.

So how is Cat doing?

She's having a hard time seeing herself where she's at. But she said she's in a pretty good headspace. And I've shown her support — I say, look, if you need someone to talk to, I'm always here.

I know you jumped in once you were down two crew members. You're washing dishes and everything, so you were very cool about it. But were you freaking out that you lost two people in one day?

No, because freaking out doesn't get the job done. So don't get me wrong. There's a big... like, okay, Kerry, did you think this through? [ Laughs ] But it wasn't for me to think through. These two people were in a place where their minds weren't on the job because they were having some mental health issues that we couldn't take care of on board.

10 below deck charter guests who will never return to the franchise.

While the charter guests who appear on Below Deck have a great time while filming the show, many aren't invited back for a number of reasons.

  • Some charter guests on Below Deck have caused unnecessary drama and won't likely return due to bad behavior.
  • Captain Glenn Shephard from Below Deck Sailing Yacht faced backlash from Barrie, who called him two-faced.
  • Former guest Dr. Francis Martinis will not return to Below Deck after he was arrested for faking prescriptions.

The Below Deck franchise has featured many charter guests since 2013, many of whom will never return . The Bravo series focuses on expensive charters with wealthy guests who have attitude problems and over-the-top demands. That includes Charter guest Alexis Bellino, who boarded Captain Lee Rosbach’s yacht with her boyfriend at the time, Andy Bohn. She was disrespectful and made everyone uncomfortable with her and Andy's PDA. She even insulted crew members after featuring on the show.

Like Alexis, Delores Flora from Below Deck season 8 was a terrible guest. Not only did she misbehave, but she also got drunk and s wam while intoxicated, which is not only not allowed, it frightened the crew members. Delores got kicked out of the yacht the next day. These guests created unnecessary drama on the boat and will likely never return like a few others from the franchise.

Barrie and Tony Drewitt Barlow had a decent time in the Below Deck Sailing Yacht seasons 2 and 3. Despite that, they left with a bitter taste because of Captain Glenn Shephard. In 2021, Barrie participated in a podcast, Pita Party: The Podcast , where he claimed that Captain Glenn bothered him while using his phone .

Barrie said, “he (Captain Glenn) was a two-face b*stard,” adding that he just didn’t like his presence.

7 Frank Fay

Below deck mediterranean.

In Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, Charter guest Frank Fay had a thing for second stew Kyle Viljoen. He pursued him on the yacht, but unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last. Frank will likely never return to the series as long as Captain Sandy Yawn allows Kyle to work for her. Even if Kyle quits, Frank wouldn’t want to be in an environment that would remind him of his failed relationship.

6 Erica Rose

Erica Rose appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht two seasons in a row. Erica was highly offensive toward the crew member, as well as her husband, Charles Sanders, and to make things worse, she left the crew with a measly tip , leading fans to slam her on social media. Ultimately, Erica had to apologize for her bad attitude but never returned to give the crew the tip they deserved. Nobody on Below Deck Sailing Yacht would ever want to return.

5 Justin Guarini

Justin Guarini’s time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht was not dramatic at all; however, he’ll probably never return to the series. Justin wouldn’t return because he wasn't the primary guest. He joined his friend, Kim, who wanted to enjoy a luxury yacht trip. It was more of a one-and-done deal. Secondly, nobody recognized him at all. Viewers later realized who he was and how he was the runner-up on American Idol season 1. Justin is a theatre artist and has made a name for himself. However, it was embarrassing that so many fans had no clue who he was .

Below Deck: 8 Charter Guests With The Worst Attitudes

4 johnny damon.

Johnny Damon’s time at Below Deck Med was full of explosive moments. Once, he sent the food back, citing that the experience wasn’t “five stars.” On another occasion, his wife, Michelle, created drama by yelling at the owner of another yacht . Overall, the experience was simply terrible on both sides. Crew members didn’t love Johnny and his wife, and the couple didn’t respect the crew members. It is unlikely that Captain Sandy would want to host the couple again as long as she’s in charge.

3 Krystal Murphy

Former charter guest Krystal Murphy boarded Captain Lee’s yacht with her friends. She immediately began showing red flags, drinking, and just being a menace. Krystal fought with her friend, Chelsea, creating unnecessary drama. She even passed out and punched a friend in the face. Former Chief Stew Kate Chastain disliked serving Krystal and called her a “spoiled brat;” she wanted to throw her off the yacht. Nowadays, Krystal has seemingly become a more private person. It doesn’t seem like Krystal would want to be on TV again.

2 Steve Bradley

Below Deck fans should remember Steve Bradley as he made many appearances on the show. In Below Deck season 3, he wanted a foam party and demanded the crew to figure it out and follow his commands, acting like a king. In Below Deck season 6, Steve made more outrageous requests. Apart from being a wild guest, Steve was entitled and acted inappropriately at times . No Below Deck captain would want to host him again as he didn't come off as very likable.

1 Dr. Francis Martinis

Below deck mediterranean & below deck sailing yacht.

Dr. Francis Martinis from Below Deck Med and Below Deck Sailing Yacht has a zero chance of returning. While the former charter guest didn’t have too many issues on the show, his personal life issues will stop him from appearing on Bravo again. According to TMZ , Dr. Francis and his wife, Jessica, were arrested for filling out fake prescriptions in December 2023 . The couple used the names of Below Deck stars and got caught red-handed. The Below Deck franchise would never want to welcome felons, especially when their mugshots are all over the internet.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.

‘Below Deck’ Sails Into a New Era

With a different captain at the helm and new production elements, the reality show about charter yachts is switching up its style.

A man in a crew member suit stands behind a bar and tends to flowers in a vase.

By Shivani Gonzalez

Starting a new season of “ Below Deck ” can be similar to returning to summer camp as a kid — you know it’s going to be fun and that you’ll be in the same environment, but some of the people will be different and you’re not quite sure what the vibes will be.

This time around, in particular, feels that way because for the first time in the show’s 11-season run, Captain Lee Rosbach is no longer at the helm. It’s a pivotal moment for a franchise that has become one of the most popular entities in the sprawling universe of reality TV since premiering on Bravo in 2013 . The show’s appeal was built on endless romances between various crew members (“boatmances,” as they came to be known), horrible charter guests and some sort of passive-aggressive fight about how many shackles of the anchor chain should be in the water. And there was always Rosbach presiding over the drama as he trudged around the boat, reeling off one liners like “I’m madder than a pissed-on chicken” and “we screwed the pooch so many times we should have a litter of puppies running around.”

At the center of the show now is Kerry Titheradge (the stern yet goofy captain of “Below Deck Adventure” fame), who is managing the Motor Yacht Saint David with the cheeky chief stew Fraser Olender by his side.

With that change in captain, the energy on the boat — both onscreen and off — is different, according to Olender.

“Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” Olender said in an interview. “With Kerry, he taught me a lot and sort of forced to me confront issues directly with my team, work them out, as opposed to making executive decisions too soon.”

This shift in management style changes the central conflict — whereas the drama once focused on the captain swiftly kicking out any unpleasant crew member (as we might have seen with Rosbach), the drama now focuses on the whole crew trying to get along (since Titheradge gives people those second chances).

Additionally, Olender noted that the captain’s relationship with the crew can also affect the drama on board.

“Captains absolutely do get involved, whether they know it or not,” Olender said, adding that for the crew, everything is about “trying to impress your captain.”

This phenomenon plays out early in the new season when the lead deckhand, Ben Willoughby, called out a fellow crew member over the radios about not wearing a life vest — something he easily could have done in private. The drama that followed became an interpersonal conflict between the two of them, both with the ultimate goal of impressing Titheradge. (Of course, the two deckhands had kissed on the previous crew night out, which is more in line with the “Below Deck” drama viewers are used to.)

For “Below Deck” showrunners, the changeovers in the cast allowed them to rethink what the show would look like.

From the season premiere, it was immediately apparent that Rosbach’s absence wasn’t the only change this season: The filming is sleeker, the daily, multicourse meals prepared by the chef are given their own glamour shots and the cameras sometimes cut to the perspectives of yachties running around on deck and through the galley.

“Our showrunner, Lauren Simms, is an avid consumer of all different kinds of media,” Noah Samton, a senior vice president of unscripted current production for NBCUniversal, said in an interview. “She pitches us different ideas on how to stylistically evoke different feelings and change the mood a little bit of ‘Below Deck’ without removing what really works.”

Moving through the rest of the season, and potentially through seasons to come, Olender is aiming to bring a cutthroat management style while also bringing affection for his stews, all with his signature British humor.

On Bravo’s side, there are changes in the works for the other “Below Deck” spinoffs — including “Sailing Yacht,” “Mediterranean” and “Down Under” — which collectively, have 26 seasons. Specifically, Samton said that “Down Under” is currently filming and that even though fans should be ready to see new things, the show will stay true to its original concept.

“These are real yachties doing a real job so you have to stay within those confines because the audience isn’t going to want anything that is too produced or fake,” Samton said. “So we have to find ways to reinvent while staying true to the original concept of the show.”

And as Olender said: “I’m sure that every year if I were to work with this franchise again, that I’ll be thrown a collection of total chaotic and disastrous stews — that’s what makes it watchable.”

An earlier version of this article misquoted Fraser Olender, the chief stew of “Below Deck.” He said, “I also feel like Kerry this season. ... Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” not “I feel like Kerry this season, as opposed to Lee, has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him.”

Who did Jared Woodin get fired on Below Deck Season 11, Episode 7?

As soon as Season 11 began, Captain Kerry recognized that Jared wasn't cut out to be the Bosun of a mega yacht. After giving Jared a few charters to see if he could improve during dockings and with his communication, Kerry decided to fire the Connecticut native.

Captain Kerry told Jared, "The way that you're treating these guys is not acceptable, and we've had discussions, and I've tried to guide you, I've shown you compassion. But, you've got sh-t going on, mate. You're your own worst enemy right now. You need to depart the vessel."

How Jared Woodin Reacted to Getting Fired

Once Kerry fired Jared, the dad of one seemed surprised. "I'm getting the boot?" Jared asked, and Kerry confirmed that was the case. "Really?"

Kerry noted that Jared did "have a lot going for [him]," but that  St. David  wasn't the right place for him.

"Take this time and work on yourself," Kerry said. "Me keeping you here is a disservice to you."

Jared ultimately agreed with that assessment in an interview on the episode.

"I thought I was in a good headspace coming in to this, [but] I'm really not. And, as much as I would like to be, I'm just lying to myself," he said. "Although the situation sucks, I actually really do feel a little bit lighter."

Why did cat baugh leave on below deck season 11.

Jared wasn't the only crew member who left St. David on Season 11, Episode 7. After expressing how it was hard for her to find her place amongst the rest of the yachties, stew Cat Baugh received a troubling phone call from a friend named Megan when she was in her cabin.

"I'm sorry, I know you can't talk, but she's not answering, and no one else is awake right now," Cat's friend said on the phone. "Do you have, like, a couple seconds? I'm freaking the f-ck out."

Cat didn't reveal what exactly the phone call was about, but she recognized that she needed to get back home.

"So, I got a call from my friend, Megan," Cat explained in an interview on the episode. "This is a situation I really can't talk about, but my friends are my family, so it feels really sh-tty not being able to be there for her."

Cat Baugh Hugs Captain Kerry as she leaves the yacht

After the charter guests arrived, Cat talked to her boss, Fraser Olender , about what she was feeling. He encouraged her to put her mental health first. Kerry did the same.

"My number one job is to take care of my crew and their health," Kerry said. "I'm well aware of mental health. She's got to go, now."

11 Things You Didn’t Know About Below Deck's Captain Kerry Titheradge

"I wish I could have stayed. But, the thing is, there's no way I could have," Cat concluded. "This is too much. I need to be with the people [who] need me, and also, on this boat, I'm at a breaking point. I need to protect my mental health. It's like my support system is at home, not here."
