Beneteau is one of Europe’s oldest boat builders . Founded in 1884 by Benjamin Beneteau in the French port city of Croix-de-Vie, early fishing-oriented boats were designed with two goals — to be durable enough to handle the North Atlantic waters and fast enough to be first back to shore with the day’s catch. Today, Beneteau is still known for these core traits but has evolved from the builder’s early commercial-fishing roots to become one of Europe’s leading builders of recreational power and sail boats. • Open-bow SPACEdecks maximize passenger space with forward bow seating that converts to a roomy sunpad, cockpits that focus on cruising or fishing and, on larger models, open cabins with toilets and modular cockpits to enhance socializing.

• Designed with the long-distance traveler in mind, Swift Trawlers — including the Swift Trawler 35 , Swift Trawler 41 Fly , Swift Trawler 41 Sedan and Swift Trawler 48 — are seaworthy vessels that combine safety and stability with comfortable accommodations.
• Styles include traditional , flybridge and sedan models.
• Topside, enclosed wheelhouses pair with main salons that offer aft galleys and abundant passenger seating. The latter often doubles as sleeping space.
• Below deck, as many as three cabins combine with up to two enclosed head compartments and shower to guarantee a comfortable excursion.
• Power is provided by a choice of shaft-line drives from Volvo Penta .
• The ultimate flagship in Beneteau’s trawler family, the Grand Trawler 62 provides passengers luxurious accommodations no matter how long the voyage.
• A large flybridge includes wetbar and table seating. Below, the wheelhouse is matched with large galley, dining area and salon.
• Below deck, the guest cabin in the bow and midship owner suite take full advantage of the boat’s generous beam for hotel-like room. Or, reconfigure the layout to create as many as four cabins and multiple head compartments.

Yes, Beneteau boats are easy to maintain. Basic maintenance, including washing and waxing the fiberglass hull , keeping engine compartments clean and dry, and cleaning and using protectant on vinyl surfaces will keep a Beneteau boat looking and performing like new for years to come. Boats left in the water should have hulls cleaned yearly to remove marine growth; anti-fouling paint on submerged areas of the hull should also be applied. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule, including yearly engine service, to ensure reliable, safe operation. Factory-recommended service should be performed at an authorized Beneteau dealer.

Beneteau’s Flyer line is designed with recreational watersports — including inflatable tubing, waterskiing and wakeboarding — in mind. Beneteau’s Airstep hulls provide quick acceleration and skiing-friendly top speeds. It’s always nice when a superyacht packs a few surprises. Case in point: Too Design’s newest concept . The unassuming 186-footer is full of interesting features that only become apparent upon closer inspection.

The futuristic, eco-friendly vessel, which has been dubbed VisionE, was penned by the studio’s founder and veteran designer Marco Casali , with the goal of creating a more sustainable way of living and yachting.

“The name, which is Italian for “vision,” stands for a yaching evolution; an ecological, electrical, environmentally-friendly vision—our visionE,” Casali told Robb Report.

Most notably, VisionE is fitted with a retractable solar roof that opens up to reveal a sprawling 1,600-square-foot sun deck with a spa pool, alfresco dining area and lounge. Think of it as the marine equivalent of a Kinder Surprise Egg. Beyond the cool mechanics, the roof’s solar panels can harness up to 62 kW of energy from the sun, which is then stored in the large battery pack on board and used to power the yacht.

Speaking of power, Casali partnered with Francesco Rogantin of Names Studio on the superyacht’s propulsion and engineering. VisionE has been equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric system capable of pushing her to an estimated 14 knots, but could eventually run purely on clean, green electricity or even hydrogen. In order to further increase efficiency, VisionE sports a sleek aluminum hull and sharp bow specially designed to reduce drag.

In addition to the nifty hydraulic roof, VisionE’s seven staterooms each feature balconies that automatically fold down to give the 14 guests direct (and private) access to the ocean. The aft bulwarks can be extended, too, in order to create a massive deck by the water’s edge. At the center of this multi-purpose area is a section that can be opened up to create a saltwater swimming pool in the sea, or a garage for the tender. The section can also be covered to create a basketball court or outdoor cinema.

As for the 499 GT interior, it offers an open-plan layout geared toward entertaining, and can be customized to the owner’s taste. You’d better believe there will be a few surprises, though.

The inconspicuous 186-footer, Too Design's newest concept, is loaded with fascinating characteristics that only become visible upon closer study. The VisionE is a futuristic, eco-friendly vessel designed by Marco Casali, the studio's founder and veteran designer, to promote a more sustainable life and sailing. With a movable solar roof on top, VisionE reveals a spacious 1,600-square-foot sun deck with a spa pool, outdoor dining space, and lounge. Aside from the interesting mechanics, the roof's solar panels can capture up to 62 kW of solar energy, which is then retained in the yacht's enormous battery pack and utilized to power it. VisionE is powered by a hybrid diesel-electric system that can propel her to speeds of up to 14 knots. Still, she might eventually run entirely on pure, green electricity or hydrogen. VisionE has a sleek aluminum hull and a sharp bow that is expressly intended to reduce drag and boost efficiency.

Visione is a 44.84m sailing yacht built by Baltic Yachts in 2002. This yacht’s exterior design and engineering are the work of Reichel Pugh Yacht Design, whilst her interior was designed by R & J Design.

Visione emerged from a major refit at Italian shipyard Amico & Co in 2007. The sailing yacht has a GRP and wood hull with a beam of 8.28m and a 6.80m draft. She can accommodate up to 10 guests and five crew members.

Sailing yacht Visione can cruise at a maximum speed of 15 knots and has a range of 1,300 nautical miles at 12 knots. She features bow and stern Max Power bow thrusters to help manoeuvrability in all conditions.

At the recent Palma Boat Show, MBY deputy editor Jack Haines took the chance to tour the new Vision F80 powercat…

One of the standout boats at the 2022 Palma Boat Show was the Vision F80, an enormous all-black catamaran from Turkish yard Vision F, who are currently working in partnership with Silent Yachts .

The Vision F80 on display at Palma was fitted with Volvo Penta IPS, but future versions will feature hybrid and electric boat powertrain options.

Our tour starts at the transom with its split bathing platform and hydraulic tender launch platform in the middle.

Once you’re in the cockpit, you really get a sense of the true size of the Vision F80 – with a 30ft beam there’s plenty of room for huge side decks that look like they’ve been borrowed from a bowling alley.

Moving inside, the galley is accessed via its own separate staircase to port, leaving the entire main deck free for a sprawling saloon.

Two more staircases towards the bow lead into the guest accommodation, with the owner’s cabin and a twin cabin to starboard, plus two further cabins to port.

Additional toy storage is offered on the foredeck – there is more than enough room for a Williams jet tender and a jetski, which can be launched via a deck crane.

But arguably, the star of the show is the vast flybridge , which boasts acres of entertaining space, more than enough to fit a hot tub should you require.

The new frontier of green luxury speaks Italian.

It is VisionE, a 186-foot luxury yacht, approximately sixty meters.

For now it is only a project carried out in the digital phase but this incredible boat could soon see the light.

A futuristic and ecological yacht

The VisionE project was created by Marco Casali, a designer with many years of experience also as a designer.

Luxury is certainly not lacking: the tapered lines and the elegance of the shapes make this yacht a real object of desire.

However, the boat has a very specific purpose: to bring sustainable navigation to a new level.

It is enough to start from the name to understand a lot: visionE is nothing more than a wish.

The desire to sail in a more ethical, ecological and respectful way for the seas and the environment.

The realization of the “vision” is realized thanks to her solar panels.

The lucky ones who can afford this jewel of the seas will enjoy its retractable roof completely made with solar panels.

Once withdrawn, the roof makes room for a solarium of about 150 meters.

In the solarium area you can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, a dining table and a spa area.

Up to 62 kW of power: this is the energy produced by VisionE solar panels.

The yacht features a hybrid-electric power supply.

Not only could the energy stored by the panels be sufficient to power the yacht, but extra recharging could also be achieved through special attachments for the battery pack to be recharged once in port.

Thanks to these measures, for the smaller models, you were able to navigate in fully electric mode for 24 hours.

The sustainable luxury of VisionE offers its guests seven cabins, each with a particular balcony which, folding in on itself, can offer exclusive access to the ocean.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 1977, Vision offers guest accommodation for up to 9 guests in 5 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin and three double cabins. The supremely spacious full beam master suite benefits from a his and her bathroom. There are 5 beds in total, including 2 king, 1 queen, 1 double and 1 single. She is also capable of carrying up to 8 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Vision benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter including Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. You can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.

Performance & Range

Built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, she benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 2,000 nautical miles from her 36,000 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. Her low draft of 2.13m/7' makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. An on board stabilization system ensures comfort when underway.

Vision knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with a selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Also there are wakeboards so guests can show off at speed. Another excellent feature are two kayaks - a tranquil and relaxing way to pass the time. If that isn't enough Vision also features fishing equipment, scuba diving equipment, inflatable water toys, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment. When it comes to Tenders, Vision has you covered - with two tenders, including a Whaler Tender.

Vision and her crew are available for charter this summer for cruising within the Caribbean. She is already accepting bookings this winter.

Ways to decorate a coquette aesthetic room.

These days, fashion trends come and go in the blink of an eye. One trend that has gained notoriety within the past year is the coquette aesthetic. Consistent with prior practices, public White House tour requests must be submitted a minimum of 21 days in advance and no more than 90 days in advance of the requested tour date(s). Reservations cannot be accepted for tour dates outside this 21 – 90-day window.  

Public tours are typically available from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, excluding Federal holidays or unless otherwise noted. If your tour is confirmed, please note that you will be assigned a specific time.  All White House tours are free of charge. The White House tour schedule is subject to change, with little notice, based on inclement weather or official use.

Getting Here

Use of public transportation is strongly encouraged, as there is no parking available on the White House complex and street parking is limited. The closest Metrorail stations to the White House are Federal Triangle (blue and orange lines), Metro Center (blue, orange, silver, and red lines), and McPherson Square (blue, orange, and silver lines).

The White House Tour entrance is located in Sherman Park at 15th Street NW and Alexander Hamilton Place NW. If arriving by rideshare, use the White House Visitor Center (WHVC) as the drop-off address. The WHVC is located at 1450 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20230, which is one block from the White House.

Restrooms are located at the White House Visitors Center, located at 1450 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20230. There are no restrooms available once you arrive for your tour.

Accessibility

The White House tour route is wheelchair accessible. Visitors who wish to use a White House wheelchair should notify a U.S. Secret Service officer upon arrival.

Guide animals are permitted in the White House.

Health and Safety Guidance

Guests who receive a confirmed tour reservation will be issued a White House Tour Pass ahead of their tour date containing pertinent health and safety guidance.

Go Inside Constanza Collarte’s Miami Spanish Revival

Simplicity and comfort take center stage.

In a city known for modern design, Miami native Constanza Collarte was on the hunt for something with more old-fashioned appeal. “I wanted something that felt authentic for our family,” she explains. “Miami is full of very white bright and modern boxes and I just couldn’t see ourselves living in something like that. We were looking for something that had a bit more story to it.”

Enter a 1936 Spanish Mediterranean–style home in the city’s Coconut Grove neighborhood. “When we fell upon the property, the landscape was just so romantic and divine and layered and lush,” says the designer.

Following a renovation to modernize the layout and lighten the space (“This home needed a lot of brightening,” she recalls), Collarte filled the rooms with soft, minimal, and slightly rustic furnishings. From the lime wash paint on the walls (its wax-like finish means that occasional nicks or crayon marks can be easily buffed away) to the living room’s hard-wearing vintage leather chairs (apple juice spills just add to the patina), it’s the perfect backdrop for a young family of five.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez 's mega-mansion sale is sparking debate in L.A.'s luxury real estate market ... and TMZ's got insight from both sides on whether it's worth the price tag.

As we first told you ... Ben and Jen are looking to offload their $60 million Bev Hills home for a cool $65 mil -- and while some have scoffed at the asking price behind closed doors ... others have told us it's actually a Goldie Locks number ... meaning it's just right.

Benjamin Bacal -- from Revel Real Estate, who reps high-end clients in L.A. -- tells us $65M is perfect for asking ... as he feels it fits the home's scope/scale. He tells us ... if it's good enough for A-listers like Ben and Jen, then it's good enough for anyone.

Another big-time L.A. real estate agent -- who also handles A-list clientele -- backs that up ... with our source saying he doesn't think the asking price is unreasonable, especially since it's a uniquely large estate on considerable land. In other words ... they might get their number.

In fact ... we're told this agent actually has a buyer that's interested in the house -- but as of now, no offer has been put in ... at least not yet. Point is ... someone's eyeballing it!

However, another L.A. agent who's knee-deep in the celeb game isn't buying it, quite literally. They tell us they're skeptical, saying there's no way that house is gonna go for over $40 million ... which is quite a different take from the previous two agents, who are aligned.

He explains to us between the loss they'll take on brokers' fees and the CA Real Property Transfer Tax and Measure ULA, they're going to lose at least $6.5 mil right there. Hence, why they've probably zeroed in on their final number -- 'cause they know they're gonna take a hit.

As far as this last agent is concerned, they shouldn't have listed it for more than $50 million, especially if they want to sell it quickly amid their looming divorce. Remember ... Josh Altman recently echoed this sentiment as well -- he suggested Ben and Jen would likely take a loss .

One last thing this agent points out to us on why he thinks $65 mil is high -- the house was on the market for a long time before Ben/Jen snapped it up ... so it could be on the market for 2-3+ years if they're not able to find any takers. Until it's officially listed, we won't know.

Clearly ... there are some who think Bennifer is on the right track to sell this place, and others who call BS. Like we said, it's a pocket listing for now -- and it's only a matter of time before we find out what's what.

Here’s when you can tour this Utah temple that the LDS Church relocated after community backlash

Dedication date is also set for a building that will be a first for this county..

More than five years — and a whole lot of controversy — after it was first announced, Tooele County’s Latter-day Saint temple is preparing to open its door to the public before its dedication this fall.

The open house for the single-spired, three-story, 70,000-square-foot Deseret Peak Temple will kick off Sept. 26 and last through Oct. 19, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Monday . The building then will close ahead of a Nov. 10 dedication, after which only faithful members will be permitted to enter its vaulted walls.

The edifice, which was originally proposed for the nearby town of Erda , represents a first for Tooele County.

By comparison, Utah County, home to the church’s premier school, Brigham Young University, has eight existing or planned temples, the most of any county in the Beehive State, followed by Salt Lake County, with six.

The church’s historic temple-building spree has provoked some pushback across the country among neighbors wary of living in the shadow of the massive structures and their cloud-piercing spires.

In most cases, the church has dug in its heels, adamant that such complainers are classic NIMBYs (“not in my backyard”) who fail to recognize the benefits that come with having such a quiet and meticulously groomed neighbor.

Not in the case of the Deseret Peak Temple. The church originally sought to construct the building, then called the Tooele Valley Temple, in rural Erda along with a high-density housing project, but moved the site a few miles down the road to Tooele City after a year of intense debate that left residents with a lot to get over.

Equally rare was the faith’s governing First Presidency’s decision to weigh in publicly , expressing a “sincere desire on the part of the church to avoid discord in the community” and encouraged all people to treat one another with kindness and Christlike love.

Utah is currently home to 20 functioning Latter-day Saint temples: Bountiful, Brigham City, Cedar City, Draper, Jordan River (South Jordan), Layton ( dedicated Sunday ), Logan, Manti (rededicated in April), Monticello, Mount Timpanogos (American Fork), Ogden, Oquirrh Mountain (South Jordan), Orem , Payson, Provo City Center (converted from the former Provo Tabernacle ), Red Cliffs (St. George — dedicated in March ); Saratoga Springs, St. George , Taylorsville and Vernal.

The faith’s most-celebrated temple, the iconic six-spired Salt Lake Temple, in the heart of Utah’s capital, is undergoing a seismic upgrade and extensive renovation. It is expected to reopen in 2026.

The Space Age Provo Temple, meanwhile, is being overhauled. It will be renamed the Provo Rock Canyon Temple.

Besides Deseret Peak, seven more temples — Ephraim, Heber Valley, Lehi , Lindon, Smithfield, Syracuse and West Jordan — are either under construction or in planning stages. When all are completed, Utah will be home to 30 temples of the state’s predominant faith.

There are nearly 200 functioning Latter-day Saint temples worldwide.

For members, these sacred buildings represent nothing short of Houses of the Lord and, unlike their more common meetinghouses, places where devout members participate in their highest religious rites such as eternal marriage.

Moms are just the best.

When you have an unconventional job, it’s hard to explain to your family what you really do. My mom knows my job is cool, and she’s obviously been nothing but supportive, but I’m still not sure she understands exactly what I do.

And it sounds like Brianna Chickenfry’s mom doesn’t really understand just what Zach Bryan does either.

I mean obviously she has to know that her daughter’s boyfriend is a global superstar and playing sold-out stadium shows all over the world. At this point pretty much everybody knows that Zach Bryan is one of the biggest names in music.

But apparently, the mother of the Barstool Sports personality doesn’t quite understand exactly what that means…

During an appearance on the  Dropouts  podcast, Brianna was asked how her parents feel about her relationship with such a megastar, and she told an adorable story about her mom not quite comprehending just what a big star Zach really is:

“My parents really don’t understand.

Zach is going to play two stadium shows where I grew up going to stadiums. My mom’s like, ‘Well, if you don’t want to pay for parking on the tour buses you can just park in the driveway. Just use the driveway.'”

Is that not just like mom? Even when she doesn’t really understand, she’s still willing to do whatever it takes to be supportive.

Brianna (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia) also revealed that her dad wasn’t quite as enthusiastic about their relationship – but not because Zach is a global superstar, just because dads are never enthusiastic about the guys who date their daughters:

“My dad’s such a hardass. He’s like, ‘You treat my daughter right, I don’t care what songs you do or how much money you got.'”

Of course now that they’ve been dating for around a year, they’ve grown to love their daughter’s boyfriend:

“I think they just like, learned to love him. My mom’s obsessed with him. She doesn’t really text me to see what I’m doing. She’s like, ‘How are you and Zach? How are the dogs?’ 

It’s kind of annoying, it makes me pretty pissed off, but now she has the son that she never had.”

“Just Dudes” Who Congratulate Her On Her Relationship With Zach

Not long after rumors started swirling that the two were dating last year, Bri confirmed they were an item during an episode of her podcast PlanBri Uncut , saying they were “casually hanging out”:

They both attended the ACM Awards last year, where they first met, and Zach took home the trophy for ACM New Male Artist of the Year too.

On her podcast episode titled The Cat’s Out of the Bag , Bri first addressed the rumors, saying:

“I think I might have some stuff to address… I’ve been hanging out with a guy named Zach Bryan. Just gonna go ahead and say it, just hangin’ out with a guy named Zach.

Started hanging out with a guy named Zach, what, three weeks ago?

It’s fun, it’s casual, and yeah, just wanted to address it because the whole internet is freaking the f*ck out and people are doing sh*t. And yeah, that’s really it, just hangin’ out, having some fun.”

And on a later episode of Plan Bri with co-host Grace O’Malley, she talked about attending Lalapalooza and how funny it was that it was “just dudes” who had been congratulating her on the new romance.

She joked that none of the girls were excited for her, saying she was confused that “all these dudes wanna f*ck ZB”:

“All the dudes… It’s just dudes that come up and like, ‘Yo, congrats on dating ZB.’ I’m like, all these dudes wanna f*ck ZB? The girls aren’t even saying congrats?

Like what the f*ck is going on. It’s just all these bros being like, ‘Congrats, like, I really wish that was me.’ Like, they wish they were me dating him not the other way.

I’m like, what is going on? It’s so funny…”

Zach definitely has a hardcore fanbase, and of course is loved by all different kinds of people, but it’s definitely funny to hear her talk about how much the boys love him.

Zach Bryan To Host ‘Great American Bar Scene’ Parties At Small Town Bars

Celebrating  The Great American Bar Scene  in some great American bars.

Zach is gearing up to drop his next album, confirming that it was complete but not yet announcing a release date for  The Great American Bar Scene.

A couple weeks ago, Zach dropped the first single from the album, the heartbreaking “Pink Skies.” And now, we finally know when at least some fans will get to hear the entire album…

Though there doesn’t seem to have been some coordinated announcement, some bars across the country have revealed that Zach has chosen a select number of small-town dives to host listening parties for the album ahead of its release.

An announcement from Old Mountain Tavern in Marlinton, WV details the event:

“In the summer of 2024, Zach Bryan will release his new album, The Great American Bar Scene. To commemorate his new album, Zach Bryan has chosen a small number of bars across the country that embody the spirit of an American small-town bar, and Old Mountain Tavern in Marlinton, West Virginia, is one of those select venues.

In recognition of Old Mountain Tavern’s commitment to community, atmosphere, and hometown hospitality, Zach Bryan has granted them the opportunity to play his new album before its official release to the public.

To celebrate this honor and Zach Bryan’s generous collaboration, Old Mountain Tavern will host a Zach Bryan Great American Bar Scene pre-release album block party on June 29th in Marlinton, West Virginia…

In addition to playing Zach Bryan’s new album throughout the event, local musicians will perform all day, and local food and beer from West Virginia breweries will be served.

The party will take place in downtown Marlinton from 12 PM to 11 PM on June 29th. Come out and be among the first to hear Zach Bryan’s new album before its public release.”

A similar announcement was made by the Iron Horse in Zach’s hometown of Oologah, Oklahoma, and last month Zach seemingly revealed a couple others on the list as well while noting that there were 23 bars in total:

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
