The 78.5m yacht has multiple facilities that make the Hampshire a family-oriented and action-packed yachting experience. The yacht is the epitome of luxury and fun on the water.

HAMPSHIRE II yacht interior

The interior of the Hampshire II yacht is defined as luxurious. With a classic and mahogany-paneled style, there is accommodation for 14 guests in 7 staterooms and 23 crew in 14 cabins.

The beach house opens out on two sides and has a swimming platform and a swimming ladder that descends into the water from the stern.

The beach club is styled in a driftwood design, and the entire area flows seamlessly into the deck above with a skylight surrounded by seating.

The whole yacht is designed for fun, action, sport, and exploration, with the helipad on the foredeck converting into a multi-sports area for basketball, badminton, tennis, and football.

The traditional yachting interior also has a real wood-burning fire, a wine cellar in the underwater viewing window, and a private cinema on the lower deck.

The yacht’s action-packed features continue with a zip line that runs from the 25m crows mast to the water below, and each deck is a diving board.

The garage is packed with toys like windsurfing and diving equipment, mountain bikes, and tenders for all kinds of adventure on land and water.

Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects built the Hampshire II yacht in their Kaag-based shipyard in the Netherlands. The hull is made of steel and has an aluminum superstructure.

The hull was painted blue in 2018. RWD was the designer of both the interior and the yacht’s exterior, and she was delivered in 2012.

Specifications

The Hampshire II yacht has a length of 78.5m, a beam of 12.7m, and a draft of 3.7m. Her 2 MTU engines can reach a maximum speed of 16kn and a cruising speed of 14kn. She displaces 1887GT and has a range of 3,700 nautical miles.

The engine room has a passageway made of full-height glass walls that show off the interior with three main colors: Ferrari red, black, and white, with stainless steel accents and spotlights.

The Hampshire II is estimated to cost $150 million, and she has an annual running cost of $10 – $15 million.

Motor Yacht

The Redman Whiteley Dixon design of Hampshire II covers her remarkable exterior, and flows through to the interior. The 78.50 metre motor yacht was then brought to life by Feadship at their Makkum facilities before being launched in 2012.

Her owner, an experienced Feadship owner, entered the project with a clear vision of what he and his family were looking for – a nautical playground of unquestionable quality. Hampshire II was created to provide a platform of exploration, action and sport, featuring various creative design elements such as a helipad on the foredeck which converts into a basket ball, tennis, badminton and football court.

Each deck of Hampshire II features a diving board, and the 25 metre crows nest allows the owner to zipline to the water below. The exploration features aren’t just built in to the boat, but featured throughout the beach club area and garage which are stocked with windsurfing and diving equipment, mountain bikes and arsenal of toys and tenders.

The interiors themselves were designed to the specific brief of traditional yachting feel without introducing the look of a hotel or a New York apartment. Features include real log fire, an extraordinary bar on the bridge deck, a stunning wine cellar with underwater viewing window and private cinema on the lower deck.

Motor Yacht HAMPSHIRE (ex BARBARA JEAN) is a beautiful Dutch built De Voogt Feadship luxury yacht. She was originally commissioned by a yachtsman who was interested in design improvements and quality of detailing and further upgrades have been undertaken since then. Yacht HAMPSHIRE is a magnificent vessel which very much represents build quality in a superyacht.

Superyacht HAMPSHIRE enjoyed a comprehensive refit and upgrade in 2007. She features inspiring traditional styled exterior lines and interior design and craftsmanship.

HAMPSHIRE provides good use of space in her design, and as such has a larger wheelhouse than usual, as well as a very well sized full beam master/owner's suite, which sits forward on the motor yacht's main deck.

Her sun deck is also large and features three connected, but almost separate, areas including the aft Spa Pool and sunbathing area, the mid deck alfresco dining area and lastly another sunbathing area to forward. Below, the aft deck is not shaded by superstructure but features a clever slide out panel used to provide shade if required.

HAMPSHIRE Specifications

The interior design by Redman Whitely Dixon and Feadship craftsmanship of M/Y HAMPSHIRE has a traditional English, yet contemporary, feel. Burr madrona and sycamore wood outline every panel, adding depth and richness to the natural mahogany. The blend is then lifted with white linen sofas, eclectic artifacts, bold paintings, intricate shell carvings and bright fabrics.

Together with the master, there are an additional four guest cabins arranged off a central circular lobby on her lower deck as connected to the main deck via a very generous staircase. As there are only four cabins, each one is large than usual giving much desired space to the yacht’s guests. In addition, just off the same lobby area is a further utility room which can serve as an office or day cabin, as well as a gym or indeed can give extra guest accommodation.

Yacht Accommodation

Yacht HAMPSHIRE has a maximum number of 6 cabins available, accommodating 12 guests. Her Spectacular Owner's cabin sits forward on the main deck and is full beam with a centerline bed. A separate lobby area is positioned to starboard, drawer storage to port and starboard and 'his and hers' bathrooms forward, each with a separate shower and separate toilet room and 'hers' with bidet. Both bathrooms share a Spa Pool tub and separate wardrobes and sit down vanity tables are outboard in both bathroom/wardrobe areas. There are four guest cabins. The two forward guest cabins have queen sized beds and bathtub en-suites. The two aft guest cabins have twin beds and bathrooms with bathtubs en-suite. All of the guest staterooms have excellent storage and abundant desk and working space areas. There is also a double child’s, staff or nanny cabin with lower berth and Pullman upper berth. This also has a desk and adequate storage.

US Rep. Annie Kuster of New Hampshire won’t seek reelection for a seventh term in November

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Democratic U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster of New Hampshire said Wednesday that she will not seek reelection to Congress for a seventh term in November, leaving the state’s sprawling 2nd District open to a possible GOP successor.

“I always said I was not going to stay in Congress forever,” Kuster, 67, said in a statement. She did not explain her decision.

Kuster is the longest-serving member in the history of the mostly rural district, which stretches from New Hampshire’s border with Canada to the Massachusetts line. It includes the cities of Nashua and Concord. The Democratic-leaning district hasn’t been in Republican hands since 2013, when the seat was held by Charlie Bass.

“I will continue serving the people of New Hampshire until the end of my term in January 2025,” Kuster said. “In the months ahead, I will use my time to help Congress build on the progress we have made and finish the job for the American people. I will continue to lead the New Democrat Coalition to help pass comprehensive, bipartisan legislation to move our country forward.”

Kuster, an attorney from Hopkinton, lost to Bass in her first run in 2010. Bass had held that seat for 12 years before getting ousted along with other Republicans nationally in 2006.

Kuster, whose mother held a Republican seat in the state Legislature for 25 years, emphasized her ability to work with both parties. She defeated Bass in 2012 and was reelected five times. She defeated pro-Trump Republican Robert Burns, who runs a pharmaceutical quality control business, in 2022.

“It was certainly a safe seat for her,” said Dante Scala, a political science professor at the University of New Hampshire, adding Kuster was excellent at raising campaign funds.

Scala said Kuster built a reputation in Congress as a moderately liberal Democrat and centrist. Assuming there’s a competitive Democratic primary for the seat, it will be interesting to see if the nominee will be more left-leaning than Kuster.

Five Republicans have said they are running to be the party’s nominee for the seat.

“I still think it will be a significant lift for a Republican to win that district,” Scala said.

During the last election, Kuster championed her support of the Inflation Reduction Act, which requires Medicare to negotiate lower prices with drug companies. The legislation included Kuster’s bill to eliminate out-of-pocket vaccine costs for seniors and Medicare beneficiaries.

She also sponsored the legislation to award the Congressional Gold Medal to members of the top-secret World War II Ghost Army 75 years after their service.

Kuster was founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan Addiction and Mental Health Task Force. She was founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan Task Force to End Sexual Violence.

“As I look to the future, I am excited by the work and opportunities that lie ahead. We all have a role to play in standing up for what we believe in, advocating for a better future, and pursuing the change that we want to see,” she said.

Kuster has spoken about her post-traumatic stress from being trapped in the House gallery as rioters tried to beat down the doors on Jan. 6, 2021. The insurrection interrupted the certification of President Joe Biden’s victory. Kuster calls herself a “survivor, witness, victim of the insurrection on Jan. 6 in our Capitol.”

Her colleague in Congress, First District U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas, called her " a trailblazer and a respected leader who always puts the needs of Granite Staters first.

“I know that her work fighting for important priorities is far from over, whether that’s continuing bipartisan collaboration to address addiction and mental health, standing up for reproductive freedom, or safeguarding our democracy,” the Democrat said.
