The alliance marks a pivotal moment in the industry, promising to elevate and set standards of marine lighting by delivering products that offer unprecedented performance, safety, and reliability, leveraging DuraBrite's patented technologies, such as advanced thermal management systems, proprietary energy efficiency circuitry, and highly engineered optics control in a series of new and upgraded Perko lighting products.

Miami FL - Perko® recently started shipping the newly designed "Fold-in-Half" All Round lights to distributors and OEMs worldwide, as an addition to its family of C5 compliant navigation lights.

These new C-5 (2 nautical mile) lights were designed as direct replacements for the older (non C-5) Perko "Fold-in-Half" All round lights, Figs. 1439 & 1451.

These lights meet the 2nm visibility requirement as well as comply with the new C-5 regulations that took effect August 1, 2023. The new ABYC C5 regulation brings light intensity output in line with similar European regulations.

This new All Round Fold-in-Half Pole Light is ideal for RHIBs, but also look great on a wide variety of boats.

Reliable Marine Lighting from Oxley Group

The Oxley naval lighting range offers high reliability for the most demanding environments with high sealing and the ability to meet the most stringent EMC standards. Where required, the lights are NVG friendly or NVG compatible to allow for multiple platform inter-operability with aircraft flying whilst using military night vision goggles . Oxley also produces explosion proof marine lighting designed specifically for battery or engine compartments.

Oxley was a pioneer of marine LED lighting; the team modified the Invincible Class Aircraft Carriers with LED bulb replacements to provide NVIS friendly capability. Oxley went on to design a range of statutory navigation lighting for the Queen Elizabeth-Class Aircraft Carriers, this is suitable for any vessel over 50 metres and has wheel mark approval. The lights are robust, low maintenance and incorporate smart health monitoring that integrates with the ship's platform management system.

Submarine Lighting Available

In addition to our marine lighting, Oxley also have a range of submarine lighting available; this features compartment lighting, area lighting and emergency lighting systems. The lights are designed and manufactured specifically for a submarine environment, offering a long operational life of up to 50,000 hours, advanced shock survival, low profile housing and advanced illumination characteristics which reduce fatigue. Recent quantum leaps in the luminous intensity of LEDs per watt have allowed marine lighting systems to develop significantly to effectively illuminate a vessel's interior.

To take advantage of the ever increasing efficacy of the most advanced LEDs, efficient optic design is essential to capture and spread the available luminous flux emitted by the LED and to evenly illuminate areas. With significant advances of LED brightness, eye safety considerations are increasingly important. It is essential for high power LEDs to be coupled with optic designs that protect the eye's retina from possible damage when viewed directly. It is desirable for the entire lens area of a lamp to be evenly illuminated via an efficient optic rather than using a multiple of LEDs without any optic. Easily visible LEDs inside a luminaire without any optic or lens protection can cause a degree or even significant eye discomfort if viewed directly.

Quality LED lighting provides many significant advantages over traditional filament based sources. Significantly reduced power consumption, increased reliability, reduction in radiated heat and attractive ambient effects are all benefits of modern LED lighting systems.
