Why two crew members were fired from ‘Below Deck Down Under’

Producers for the bravo reality show and members of the crew intervened in a recent episode that showed incidences of sexual misconduct.

Two crew members on “Below Deck Down Under” were fired from the superyacht featured on the Bravo show due to sexual misconduct that forced the show’s production team and the boat’s captain to intervene.

Within several minutes of the show’s Aug. 7 episode, producers thwarted boatswain Luke Jones and second steward Laura Bileskalne after they entered other crew member’s bedrooms without their consent and attempted to make sexual advances on their shipmates.

“Our cabin is our safety zone,” the captain of the superyacht, Jason Chambers, told his crew. “That door is our boundary. That door is not to be opened unless it’s consensual.”

Though Chambers said the firings happened over a year ago, footage of the incidents aired for the first time this week, which has brought a lot of attention to the “Below Deck” show from fans who were alarmed by the incidents but impressed by the response of the production crew and other crew members on the boat.

What is ‘Below Deck Down Under?’

The show — which debuted in 2022 — is a spinoff of the reality program “Below Deck,” which has been around for more than a decade. This season focuses on the crew aboard the Northern Sun, a superyacht that hosts guests sailing through the Whitsunday Islands in Australia.

Like other “Below Deck” programs, the episodes show the high-stress and dramatic situations of the crew, who have to contend with wealthy charter guests and the politics on the boat itself. Romantic relationships frequently pop up on the show as the young and attractive crew members spend a lengthy amount of time together away from their family and friends.

The show’s latest episode featured two incidents that led to a pair of firings.

What happened during this episode?

The first incident began after third stew Margot Sisson told chief steward Aesha Scott that she didn’t want to be bothered after a night of drinking. “All I want is water and bed. No Luke,” she said, referencing Jones.

Soon Jones, who was naked at the time, was seen as he attempted to enter Sisson’s bed, despite her being unconscious and, as she recalled later in the episode, “blackout drunk.” Producers, who are not typically on the show, jumped into the scene and forced Jones out of the room despite his heavy protests, expletives and screams. He was then brought to his own quarters, where he locked himself inside.

After learning about what happened from Sisson, a tearful Scott reported the incident to the captain, who quickly kicked Jones off the ship and sent him to a hotel for the night.

“You don’t have the right to put someone unconscious into that position,” Scott told the camera in an interview after the incident. “I have had a drunken sexual-assault experience before, and I never wanted that to happen to anyone else. And she’s just such a sweet angel that the thought of anyone violating or being in her space, it just makes me feel sick.”

The following morning, Sisson, who did not recall details of what had occurred, expressed relief that nothing happened with Jones.

Chambers then called Jones back on board and promptly fired him.

“Last night there were boundaries crossed,” Chambers told Jones. “There was indecency, and you went into someone else’s cabin without consent. Unfortunately, I’ve got nothing else but to terminate your employment.”

Jones then apologized for the incident, “I’m sorry, and I’m just so disappointed in myself.”

What happened in the second incident?

Shortly after Jones was fired from the ship, Sisson discussed the incident with the second steward, Bileskalne. The second steward repeatedly said that she did not agree with Jones’s firing and expressed sympathy toward him.

“Aw, poor Luke,” Bileskalne told Sisson after hearing what happened. “If he comes naked in my cabin I’d be, like, ‘Hello! Yes!’”

After hearing about these insensitive comments, chief steward Scott told the captain that he might need to have a conversation with Bileskalne.

Scott also informed the captain that Bileskalne had separately made a number of unwanted sexual advances toward deckhand Adam Kodra.

Earlier in the Aug. 7 episode, the cameras showed Bileskalne’s attempt to sit on Kodra’s lap in a hot tub and Kodra evading her. Later on, she entered Kodra’s room without his consent and tried to give him a massage, pouring lotion across his back (this appeared to have happened around the same time that Jones entered Sisson’s room). The producers intervened, asking Bileskalne to leave Kodra’s room. She kissed Kodra on the back multiple times before exiting the cabin.

“I told her many times I just want to be friends, but she’s not getting the point across,” Kodra told the camera.

The next morning, Chambers called Bileskalne into his office to talk, where he expressed disappointment for her comments toward Sisson and advances toward Kodra.

“Adam feels uncomfortable with some moments out, and he’s tried to say no, and you have not listened to him and his boundaries to be set,” the captain told Bileskalne the following day.

Chambers said Bileskalne had disrespected him by joking with Sisson about the incident with Jones, despite his conversation with the crew about respecting each other.

“I’m trying to move forward as a team,” he said. “I’m trying to get that behind us, and you’ve brought it straight back up, so in that I’m going to terminate your employment today.”

What has Bravo said about the firings?

Representatives for Bravo and “Below Deck Down Under” declined to comment. Cast members were not made immediately available for interviews.

Has the ‘Below Deck Down Under’ cast responded?

Sisson posted a lengthy message on her Instagram story in which she thanked the producers for helping her throughout the night. She said she was grateful to Scott as well for “the way she recognized the vulnerability of the situation I was in and her courageous intervention.”

“There are unfortunately a lot of captains who would choose to sweep something like this under the rug,” she wrote of Chambers. “I am grateful that Jason is not one of them. Thank you for repeatedly making me feel safe and supported.”

Scott addressed the controversy after the episode aired, saying that everyone has “the right to go out and have fun and feel safe, and that is just the [expletive] end of it. There’s no questions or ifs or buts, that is the end of it. So please keep an eye on your friends and each other.”

Chambers also posted an Instagram video , where he thanked the production team “for breaking the fourth wall and stepping in, then re-forming and allowing Aesha to come to me in an authentic manner and us dealing with as we would as captain and crew.”

Have Jones and Bileskalne made statements?

Bileskalne apologized in an Instagram post published on Aug. 8.

“My sincere apologies to Adam. I did not realize I made him feel uncomfortable, and no one should be put in that position,” she said.

Jones posted a statement on his Instagram, too, according to Entertainment Tonight.

“It doesn’t matter what they think about you because you don’t Care. Everything we Hear is an Opinion, Not a Fact,” he wrote in an Aug. 6 post. “Everything we see is a Perspective. Not the Truth. Take Ownership and move forward.”

This article previously said that Laura Bileskalne apologized in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. Her apology was posted on her Instagram account.

‘It was about safety’: Why the leaders on ‘Below Deck Down Under’ fired two castmates for misconduct

In the wee hours one spring day last year, a situation was unfolding just off Cairns, Australia, inside the Northern Sun luxury super yacht that’s at the center of Bravo’s “Below Deck Down Under.”

Members of the hard-partying and rambunctious yacht crew, fresh from finishing a multiday charter, were stumbling back to their quarters after a drink-fueled night out — such celebratory outings are a regular occurrence once the crew has completed a trip catering to the needs of demanding guests. It’s rarely a quiet return. This time, though, the inappropriate behavior displayed by two crew members, bosun Luke Jones and second steward Laura Bileskalne, led to their termination from the crew and the end of their time on the series: Each tried to get in bed with castmates who didn’t give their consent.

Heavy drinking is not uncommon on the compulsively watchable “Below Deck” franchise, whether it’s charter guests living it up during their luxe stay or off-duty yacht staff unwinding after days of exhausting work. The drunken antics typically reveal embarrassing behavior that often fuels the next day’s on-camera drama. But the turn of events depicted in the two most recent episodes of “Below Deck Down Under” quickly prompted conversation on social media. Many praised the swift handling of the situation, both by the yacht crew’s superiors and the show’s production team, as well as the episodes’ larger exploration of consent.

“It was a hard night; the whole thing was very, very difficult,” said Nadine Rajabi, one of the show’s executive producers. “I didn’t realize the response that would come of this because that was not anything that we were thinking about. It’s not anything to be congratulated on because it was just about doing the right thing. I would hope that everybody would act in that way. It was about safety.”

‘Below Deck’ was just ‘a terrible idea.’ This salty captain turned it into reality TV gold

Now in its 10th season, the show about life on a superyacht spawned Bravo’s next great reality franchise. We asked Capt. Lee Rosbach how it’s done.

Dec. 19, 2022

Bravo made the decision to run the episodes back-to-back, and the channel timed the season’s roll-out accordingly, so viewers could see the resolution promptly to avoid creating a cliffhanger out of the seriousness of the moment. Still, some fans criticized the decision not to place a content warning at the start of either episode. An advisory message arrives at the end of the seventh episode.

In Episode 6, viewers see that after a night of drinking, Jones went into the cabin of castmate Margot Sisson, who was intoxicated and passed out, and got in her bed naked. Both production staff and chief steward Aesha Scott intervened to keep Jones out. Within minutes, which continued into Episode 7, production thwarted Bileskalne after she climbed into the bed of boatmate Adam Kodra, who had been opposing her advances that night and for much of the season.

The Times reached out to Jones via Bravo, as well as his social media, for comment about his dismissal. He did not respond. In the episode, Jones says, “I accept that,” as the yacht’s captain, Jason Chambers describes his actions and delivers his dismissal. Later, as he’s leaving the boat, Jones tells Chambers, “I’m sorry. And I’m just so disappointed in myself.”

Bileskalne declined to comment for this story via Bravo, pointing to her Instagram post from last week about the matter: “My sincere apologies to Adam, I did not realize I made him feel uncomfortable and no one should be put in that position.”

Measuring at more than 50 meters (164 feet), the Northern Sun is a massive vessel. The production team is stationed inside the yacht in what is often referred to as video village, where production personnel can observe on monitors what cameras are capturing in real time. It takes “a solid minute,” Rajabi says, to get from the control room to the crew’s sleeping cabins on the lower level.

The quick intervention by producers at such a decisive moment came just as the yacht experienced a power outage. As the control room went dark, suspending footage feeds to the monitors, cameras were still recording. An audio supervisor was the first person to intervene, wedging his foot in the door to stop Jones from staying in Sisson’s room, as seen in the episode.

“Some of the lighting you’ll see is different; he used his phone to put light there. And that gave enough time because we have to run from video village,” Rajabi says. “And we had our producer that ran down in that moment and went in. It was a valiant effort of the production crew of going there and also, like, having somebody strong to actually go in. When the backup power eventually kicked in, you run. There’s no question, you run.”

Scott, 31, has been praised for her careful handling of the situation as it unfolded, taking measures to protect and ensure the safety of Sisson and Kodra as she became aware of details. She was hesitant to be interviewed for this story, saying she was wary that it would seem like she was exploiting a bad situation or seeking fame from it. Her sensitivity stems, in part, from her experience with sexual assault. In a 2019 episode of “Below Deck Mediterranean,” she revealed that she had been raped after a drunken night out.

“I actually couldn’t tell you what put me on edge that night. I just knew coming home in the van, my Spidey senses were tingling,” Scott says. “Something was just telling me that something wasn’t quite right. I had this thing on my brain: ‘Just get Margot to bed, get Margot to bed. That’s all you have to do.’

“For timing’s sake, they had to cut it down, so it doesn’t show quite how long I spent just lying in her cabin to make sure that she was OK. Then I remember the power went out when I was standing at the microwave waiting for my noodles to be finished. And I heard the producers run past, and it just made me so upset, because I’d spent so much time with Margot and her cabin, trying to make sure that she was OK, and it felt like after all that effort, I’d failed. I really felt upset.”

Scott, at first, was aware only of Jones’ behavior. She woke up Chambers to relay her concern. Chambers quickly removed Jones from the boat and told him to sleep it off in a hotel. Upon his return in the morning, Jones was fired by Chambers. Later, upon learning that Bileskalne had made insensitive remarks to Sisson — expressing sympathy toward Jones and questioning his firing — and confirming that Bileskalne was continuing to make unwanted sexual advances toward Kodra, which also prompted intervention by producers, Scott again relayed her concerns to Chambers. He promptly fired Bileskalne. (In addition to her social media apology to Kodra, Bileskane has since apologized to Sisson for not expressing sympathy.)

“For time’s sake, they couldn’t include a part where I did actually have a conversation with Laura about pulling back a bit [with Adam]; that it goes both ways, and she needs to stop being so inappropriate with Adam,” Scott says. “So to watch it and see just how far she was pushing it, that was really shocking to me as well.”

Chambers added, separately: “I don’t feel those small little bits until the audience does, until it’s aired. I know I made the right move now even more. I based my decisions off of what Aesha told me; that was enough for me to know that something had to be done there, obviously. And I based the other decision on what Aesha told me and what I spoke to Adam about, and combined, I just knew that that was an environment that I didn’t want to work in, and I didn’t want crew to work in. I want them to work in a happy, safe, family environment.”

This is not the first time “Below Deck” has been rocked by controversy. Excessive alcohol consumption is part of the franchise’s DNA, contributing to lax boundaries between work and personal relationships. An incident on “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” last year, in which two crew members had sex despite one appearing to be more intoxicated than the other, drew criticism from fans. Rajabi says that prior to production, cast members participate in workplace classes and training, which includes an increased focus on sensitivity training. While filming, production covers the cost of two drinks and some food during their outings — “that could be Diet Coke, it could be orange juice or whatever that is. But that’s it. Everything else is on them,” she says. (There is also a supply of alcohol on deck meant for guest consumption, which cast members sometimes get into on their nights off.)

“There’s been situations in the past where we really do monitor them, we cut them off, we make sure people are consenting — and these are the things you don’t see,” Rajabi continued. “The situation that’s been documented on this episode has not only sparked a lot of conversations that’s happening in the yachting industry, they’re like, this has shed a light on things. The one thing I remember from that night is I was so scared because I was like, ‘If there were no cameras, what would have happened? What would have happened? Because nobody else is there to watch.’ We’re actually encouraged to step in ... I think [this incident] was more instinctual; it was ‘this cannot happen,’ and it was safety. It wasn’t a ‘What do we do? Should we or shouldn’t we?’”

With seven episodes left in the current season, Chambers says he wanted to ensure a safe environment in the crew’s final days at sea.

“I’m also grateful that nothing happened,” Chamber said. “To all parties involved, everyone is going to be hurt from this. We need to protect all the crew members involved, and I mean all the crew members involved, for their health, safety and mental health going forward. We need to respect every person around us and understand that no means no so that we’re all safe.”

Who gets fired on Below Deck Down Under?

Magda or Ryan? Both aren't pulling their weight but who gets fired on Below Deck Down Under this season?

Who gets fired on Below Deck Down Under season 1 episode 9?

It's only a matter of time before a crewmate on the luxury yacht Thalassa gets the ax— after all, teaser clips from Below Deck Down Under season 1 show our hunky Captain Jason Chambers telling one unfortunate member of the cast: "I had to make a decision. I'm going to let you go." But who exactly will that person be?

There are several worthy suspects in this week's episode alone. After staying up until the wee hours of the night FaceTiming her boyfriend, Polish model turned third stew Magda Ziomek sleeps most of the next day away instead of finishing up cabin clean-ups for the boat's upcoming charter guests. When chief stew Aesha Scott discovers Magda napping in her bed with none of the guest beds made or showers cleaned, she's livid.

"I was feeling very sick today, and very tired," Magda tries to explain. "Is that why you're working so slow?" "I never work slow, okay? Never work slow!" Magda replies. "Don't raise your voice at me, I'm your chief stew." Magda later apologizes for her tone, but Aesha tells her that she's "quite pissed off" that nothing is finished. "I feel betrayed. Have I created some sort of vibe where Magda thinks she can straight-up f*ck with me and get away with it?" Scott says in a confessional. "Ugh, it's just really f*cking irritating."

Aesha punishes Magda by putting her on service, giving her "less time hiding downstairs, texting her boyfriend and getting away with whatever she can."

Chef Ryan McKeown , already not known for his work ethic this season, also goes head-to-head with his boss. Captain Jason recently threatened to replace the Below Deck Down Under chef due to Ryan's poor attitude and lack of ambition, and after this week's showdown, it looks like he may finally live up to that threat.

Captain Jason is asked to join this week's charter guests for dinner, during which there are plating issues and an oversalted Italian feast. "I'm sitting at the dinner table with a friend of mine, who is the primary. This is embarrassing," the captain says. "Ryan needs less attitude and less salt."

"I want to see some wow factor going," Captain Jason later tells the chef. "I guess that's why I'm feeding the guests and not the captain all the time. There's my answer, sorry. Anyway, I got sh*it to do," Ryan snaps back.

Things get worse when the captain is alerted that Ryan hadn't cooked the fresh seafood the guests had caught earlier in the day and requested to be prepared for their dinner. When Ryan started getting defensive and disrespectful, Captain Jason gives it right back to him: "I copped your bullsh*t downstairs, I won't cop it again...I don't want your attitude and I won't f*cking cop it one more second."

Things are left on a cliffhanger, but it looks like there will be some personnel changes come next episode!

Here’s What the Cast of Below Deck Sailing Yacht Is Currently Up to Now

Are Jenna and Adam still together?

below deck sailing yacht season 1

From a spontaneous proposal failing spectacularly to a joke about being breastfed as an adult, Sailing Yacht was as much a dramatic success as the other franchises. It also left fans wondering about what's happening to the crew since the show wrapped. Did chief stew Jenna and chef Adam stay together? What's going on with Georgia's music? And most important—is Captain Glenn really as cool as we think he is?

Here's what the cast of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht is up to now:

Jenna MacGillivray

When the Canadian stepped onto the Parsifal III, fans got exactly what they hoped for in a chief stew—a no-nonsense leader who also had a romantic spot in her heart for the chef in the galley. Though her relationship with Adam Glick proved to be tumultuous, the two dated for some time after the season wrapped, even taking some time to road-trip together.

These days, Jenna is enjoying some time off from yachting, but given her recent IG pics, she's excited to come back to another charter season.

Madison Stalker

Wherever Madison went, drama always seemed to follow the second stew during season one of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht . In between epic meltdowns (including a major one between her and Jenna over her lack of enthusiasm for her job), she left the boat a better person and leaving fans ready to see more from their new favorite cast member.

Judging by her Instagram account, she's taken a break from yachting (perhaps until next season of the show).

Georgia Grobler

As good of a third stew Georgia was on deck, fans were more invested in her budding music career and growing feelings for a very taken Paget. She proved she was great at her job and could make a career out of yachting.

While it's unclear whether she stayed in the yachting industry post- Sailing Yacht , Georgia's working on music, premiering new music videos on IGTV during the quarantine.

Below Deck Med fans were so excited when Adam joined the crew as the chef for Sailing Yacht . While he abided by the preference sheets this time around, he also began a rocky romance with chief stew Jenna, making most of the crew members wonder if he was there for his job or the girl.

Since the show wrapped, Adam's busy onshore, cooking, and traveling with his adorable puppy. Oh, and Adam has a web series, Stoked , where he travels across the country to meet with local chefs and learn about their regions... all while over a campfire.

Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan

If there was any couple to root for from the entire Below Deck franchise, it's Paget and Ciara. The duo made a great team on deck, and mostly kept their relationship to a minimum on cameras—a first for Bravo! As they were the most familiar with the Parsifal III, the couple was the most reliable, and fans loved seeing their relationship continue blossoming post-filming.

These days, the couple has a lot to be excited about—they're now engaged. While they're soaking up their romantic bliss, they're also still working in yachting, although it's sadly on separate boats.

Byron Hissey

As the chief engineer of Parsifal III, Byron was clearly there to just do his job. But, given how he was the only cast member to have a wife and child back home, he also became the dad of the group, taking care of the other crew members.

Since filming wrapped, it looks like Byron is back on a boat doing exactly what he does best—fixing and making sure the engines run smoothly.

Parker McCown

Relatively new to the yachting industry, fans are more likely to remember the deckhand for his enraged rant about being breastfed by his mother. While he didn't necessarily have all the skills to make it as a deckhand, he definitely had a soft spot for his ex-girlfriend Kaiti, whom he eventually left Parsifal III to go back to at home.

It looks like the decision to leave the show worked out for Parker, as he's now engaged to Kaiti and writing some tunes while onshore.

Chris Miller

As Parker's replacement for the latter half of the season, Chris proved a great deckhand and an asset to the team, all while battling an injury.

These days, Chris seems to be taking some time off from yachting to travel across Europe.

Captain Glenn Sheppard

Captain Glenn was tough, fair, and not afraid to have a good time, which both crew and guests very much appreciated.

Thankfully, his reality TV experience hasn't turned him off yachting forever. Glenn is still the captain for Parsifal III and traveling through the Mediterranean.

Every Star Fired From ‘Below Deck’ Through the Years

Below Deck and its spinoff series may be reality TV shows , but there can be real-life consequences for the crew’s actions both on and off the ship.

Over the years, stars including Hannah Ferrier , Peter Hunziker and Shane Coopersmith have been fired from their respective charters for a variety of reasons.

Below Deck Mediterranean ’s Hannah was terminated after she was caught with Valium on board during season 5 of the series in 2020. Two months prior, Peter was cut by Bravo after he made racially charged comments amid the Black Lives Matter protests in June 2020.

Below Deck ’s Shane, on the other hand, was sent packing during season 8 , following a poor performance on the yacht.

“Unfortunately, the time has come for us to part company,” Captain Lee Rosbach told the deckhand during a December 2020 episode. “You’re just not getting it done for me.”

Shane was surprised by his firing, telling the cameras, “I feel empty, like a vacuum just sucked everything up inside of me. Giving everything I knew I could give, it wasn’t enough.”

Kyle Dickard

After instigating a fight with Nathan Morley, Kyle was offered the opportunity to resign so the incident wouldn't go on his record. The Below Deck Adventure star ultimately chose to walk off the boat after one charter.

Raygan Tyler

The boson was let go by Captain Sandy during season 7 of Below Deck Med . After Raygan failed to step up as a leader, her boss told her to get more experience before replacing her with deckhand Storm Smith.

Magda Ziomek

During season 1 of Below Deck Down Under, Magda was fired due to her slow improvement in the interior department. After the stew got distracted by personal drama with her boyfriend, Aesha Scott ultimately decided to bring in a replacement instead of finishing the charter season with Magda.

The chef was let go after he failed to please guests and Captain Jason with his food throughout the season of Below Deck Down Under. As the reality star was leaving the dock, he flashed his butt to the cameras and to his former boss.

Tom Pearson

The deckhand was let go during an April 2022 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 after getting more than one strike from Captain Glenn Shephard. Tom hesitated to wake up senior crew members when Parsifal III’s anchor dragged, which put passengers’ safety at risk.

After getting a warning from Glenn, Tom was spotted gossiping and lounging instead of working, which led to his termination. “For me, it’s actually better to be a man down than risk ever happening again,” the captain said during a confessional. “He’s not giving me what I need. He’s not taking advantage of that small opportunity.”

Tom, for his part, confessed that he hadn’t been himself at the time, explaining that his personal life had “really” started to affect his work on the ship. (Before the anchor mishap, Tom was notified that his best friend’s dad was on life support.)

Lexi Wilson

The second stew was given a ticket home after multiple arguments between her and the crew during their nights out on season 6. After an explosive fight with Mathew Shea , where Lexi told the chef that his parents "should’ve aborted you," Captain Sandy stepped in and fired her.

In September 2021, Sandy exclusively told Us Weekly that she "wanted to let" Lexi go after watching the drama unfold on screen.

"No one was giving me facts. You know, like, I didn't have any facts. I just heard it's bad. It's real bad. That's not [enough for me]. Write it out. Write a report, send it to me," she explained to Us at the time. "They learn the minute they step on this boat, we go through all the legalities. But I never got that information, if they would've told me the facts, of course, I would've let her go sooner, but I never got them."

Delaney Evans

Captain Sandy initially brought Delaney on so she could help Katie Flood in the interior during season 6. However, the chief stew quickly started to feel like the new addition was adding more stress to the situation.

After a previous failed attempt to fire Delaney, Katie made it clear the second time around that her departure was non negotiable during a September 2021 episode.

Elizabeth Frankini

The Below Deck star was cut from the crew during a February 2021 episode in season 8. Francesca Rubi told Elizabeth that her work ethic was lacking, leading to her dismissal from the charter. “I think every charter I’ve really had to work and I’m continually putting energy and checking up on you and we’ve had numerous chats about this, but sleeping in the guest cabin was sort of, like, the final straw for me,” she said.

Elizabeth defended herself via Twitter after the episode aired, writing, “It was hard doing an intense job being filmed and has been difficult to watch my mistakes play out in front of millions, especially when there’s so much more going on that doesn’t make the final cut. It’s been a learning experience.”

Shane Coopersmith

The deckhand was cut from the My Seanna charter during season 8 of Below Deck after not making enough progress in his role. "You're a good guy, but sleeping in, taking naps in the middle of cleanup, and then this morning missing your alarm," bosun Eddie Lucas said in a December 2020 episode. "It's kind of the final straw." Captain Lee admitted that Shane didn’t have time to catch up.

Hannah Ferrier

Hannah was fired on season 5 of Below Deck Med after Malia White reported her for stashing Valium on board. During the August 2020 episode, Captain Sandy received a photo of Hannah’s drugs and a vape pen and promptly terminated her. The chief stewardess later said the Valium was for her anxiety.

“When I was watching it with [my boyfriend] Josh, he’s like, ‘Did you just yawn?’ I’m like, ‘I think I did.’ He’s like, ‘You just yawned in the middle of getting fired for drugs, Hannah,’” Hannah told Decider of her blasé onscreen reaction. “Yeah. I was like, you’re kind of boring me. Let’s go.”

The Below Deck Med star was let go in June 2020 after making racially charged comments. The network announced his termination just weeks after season 5 began airing, saying, “Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes.”

Mila Kolomeitseva

The controversial chef was fired during a July 2019 episode of Below Deck Med . After many food-related mishaps on board the Sirocco during season 4, Captain Sandy told Mila that she had “passion” in the gally but her cooking wasn’t up to par. “I’m really sorry,” Sandy said after telling her she was done on the charter. The culinary pro then broke down in front of the cameras, saying it made her “feel awful.”

Chandler Brooks

Captain Lee fired Chandler during season 6 of Below Deck in 2018. “We just don’t have a chemistry. I don’t think it’s a good fit,” Lee told Chandler. “It just didn’t work out.” The bosun said he was “so relieved” because he had been overwhelmed in his job on the My Seanna crew.

Chris was cut loose from the Valor charter during season 5 in 2017 after he continued to make mistakes and failed to do his job correctly. “I was just delt a s—ty hand and nobody seemed to do anything to help me with it,” the deckhand said in his confessional. “Who gives a s--t,” he added as he was escorted by boat back to shore.

The chef was fired during season 3 of Below Deck in 2015 after a fire started in the galley. Leon blamed Kate Chastain for the incident, but Captain Lee ultimately sent him home. “Let’s call it a day now then,” Leon said after getting the boot. “I’m f—king over it."

What Happened To Danny On Below Deck?

Danny Zureikat on the bridge on Below Deck Mediterranean

Bravo's " Below Deck " series and subsequent spin-offs have become one of the most popular franchises on the reality TV network, alongside shows like "Real Housewives" and "Top Chef." The show follows a different group of yachties every season — which include a captain, the deck crew, and "stews" — providing luxury vacation experiences to high-paying charter guests. While the original "Below Deck" show is most often set in the Caribbean, Bravo has gone on to create spin-offs such as "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" and " Below Deck Mediterranean " set in other parts of the world.

There have been countless characters in the franchise, as the Captain and Chief Stew are oftentimes the only returning crew members season to season. Looking back at the first season of "Below Deck Med," there was a completely different captain and only two familiar faces: Chef Ben Robinson of the original "Below Deck" and Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier , who was the longest-running cast member of "Below Deck Med" before she was controversially fired by Captain Sandy Yawn in Season 5. But before all of the multi-season drama of Captain Sandy's crew, there was Captain Mark Howard and his batch of rowdy recruits.

Who is Danny from Below Deck Med?

One standout of Season 1 of "Below Deck Mediterranean," is bubbly deckhand Danny Zureikat. At the start of the season, the energetic Florida native had big dreams of kicking off a yachting career, according to Bravotv.com. And while he succeeded at being a social butterfly with guests, he managed to alienate himself from nearly the entire crew and ultimately get sent home mid-season by Captain Mark. His biggest foes on the  Ionian Princess  crew included deckhand Bobby Giancola, bosun Bryant Kattenburg and Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier.

Aside from getting in arguments with his crewmates, Danny also got himself into trouble by getting too close to the guests. During one  "Below Deck Med" charter , he was caught flirting, writing a poem, and even kissing a Tilted Kilt model named Morgan. At first, he only got a slap on the wrist, until Hannah unveiled the full extent of his messy behavior.

The ultimate nail in Danny's coffin was when Hannah discovered the deckhand showing photos of the Tilted Kilt ladies to other charter guests. Captain Mark had enough of his "toxic" behavior and handed him a plane ticket home. The captain even went as far as to say that Danny should consider another career outside of yachting because his work was "subpar," according to the Bravo clip.

Where is Danny from Below Deck now?

After his " Below Deck Mediterranean " days were cut short after just 12 episodes, Danny was shocked. He told BravoTV.com that he didn't agree with his firing, but "fully respect[s]" Captain Mark's choice. "I couldn't process what was happening at first," he said.

Immediately after leaving the show, Danny told Bravo he continued to explore more of Greece before finding himself back on a yacht in the Caribbean with "Below Deck's" Aleks Taldykin. In a tweet from 2018 , Danny said it was "one of the toughest yacht charters [he has] ever worked."

Since then, Danny seems to have pursued a career in acting and content creating, according to his Twitter bio , and left the yachting world behind. He makes comedy videos on TikTok and YouTube , but hasn't garnered a massive following. His IMDB page shows he's played roles in a handful of video shorts and in a horror dramedy titled "What Doesn't Kill Us." He also is a video game streamer on Twitch , mainly playing "League of Legends."

His Instagram page also showcases a bunch of random celebrity interactions that don't necessarily seem to be connections through work, but it's unclear. He's posted photos with people like Shaquille O'Neil, Danny Trejo, Kendrick Lamar, and several TikTok and YouTube influencers. So for now, it seems like you're more likely to see Danny on the internet than on a yachting crew anytime soon.

Here's What Happened Between Jenna and Madison After the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Reunion

Jenna MacGillivray opens up about her tearful apology to Madison Stalker and their post-reunion conversation.

who gets fired on below deck sailing yacht season 1

Andy Cohen revisited the biggest moments of Season 1 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht when the whole Parsifal III crew reunited on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home on June 1. The yachties looked back on the most-talked-about moments of the season, from Paget Berry and Georgia Grobler 's flirting to Parker McCown 's resignation to Adam Glick and Jenna MacGillivray 's relationship .

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck Sailing Yacht on Peacock and the Bravo app .

However, the conflict reached new heights when it came time to break down all the drama in the interior this season, especially Jenna and Madison Stalker 's working relationship. We caught up with Jenna via video chat on June 2, the day after the Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion aired, and asked how she felt things went with Madison during the virtual sit-down.

"The same as they always do," Jenna said in our new video series  The Final Word , which you can view, above. "I think it's very clear that her and I are just fire and ice, and we're just not gonna be on the same page, and that's OK."

During the reunion, Madison confronted Jenna about how much she hurt her this season, expressing that she felt "excluded" by the chief stew and that she made her "life a living hell." "Well, to be honest, I'm not responsible for that. Tell me exactly how I bullied you to the extent that you felt that you needed to cry every night or that I excluded you," Jenna responded to the claims Madison made during the reunion. "Like I said, we were all joking and laughing together all the time, and literally everyone but Madison and Parker were on board with that. We'll continue joking around, and we weren't joking about them. To be honest, I never excluded her. I didn't have anything in common with her."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Jenna Says Drama with Madison Felt 50 Times Worse Than What We See on TV

As the Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion came to a close, Jenna delivered a tearful apology to Madison for her behavior this season. But, as Jenna mentioned during the reunion, this wasn't the first time she had shown remorse for how things went down with the second stew. "With Adam, when we left the season, and we were doing our road trip, I would constantly talk about this feeling like, 'Oh, I'm really frustrated that Madison still thinks I'm this a--hole, and it's really bothersome to me.' He's like, 'Well, maybe you should contact her.' And I was like, 'Yeah, I will,'" Jenna said. "So I sent her an apology, and it was like, again, nothing I ever did or said would just be resolved. [Madison] at first wrote, 'OK, yeah, there shouldn't be bad blood.' And then it was like, as soon as that happened, 'Well, why did you want to fire me? Why did this happen?' I could never just have a conversation with Madison. I tried, I really did."

Madison said that she accepted Jenna's apology during the reunion and that she had moved on from their drama. The two even talked after the reunion, according to Jenna. "We had a phone call after the reunion, and she seemed to accept my apology, but now is still posting negative stuff about me on social media. She is liking the comments of trolls. She is reposting things that speak negatively about me," Jenna said. "I've never said anything about her on social media. She has done that from the start about me. So it's like, that's not a good person to me."

When asked if there was anything she could have done differently in order to have a smoother time working with Madison this season, Jenna said that she "would've suggested firing Madison." "She should've been let go," Jenna said.

Jenna added that Madison "equally" didn't like her this season and that they would both probably agree that they would never want to work with each other again. The chief stew also said she doesn't see them having much of a personal relationship in the future. "We go nowhere. I live my life, and she lives her life," Jenna shared. "Hopefully, she's happy. I wish nothing but happiness for anyone. I wouldn't have ill wishes for her. I hope that she does well in life, and that's all."

'Below Deck Down Under': A Crew Member 'Crossed the Line' After a Drunken Night Out — Triggering 2 Firings

Both Luke Jones and Laura Bileskalne were fired by Captain Jason Chambers after inappropriate behavior involving other crew members' boundaries

who gets fired on below deck sailing yacht season 1

Two members of the crew from Bravo's Below Deck Down Under season 2 were swiftly fired after sexual misconduct following a night off the boat.

On Monday's episode, bosun Luke Jones was terminated by Captain Jason Chambers after climbing into the bed of Margot Sisson naked — and “without consent” — while the stewardess was asleep.

Second stew Laura Bileskalne was then also fired for the inappropriate way she reacted to the incident between Luke and Margot, as well as for her behavior toward deckhand Adam Kodra during the same night.

PEOPLE reached out to Bravo about the incidents.

The sequence of events began as the crew went out together in Cairns, Australia. After many shots were consumed by all, Margot noted that she was “really drunk” at dinner. Later, as crew members made their way back to the boat in taxis, chief stew Aesha Scott told deckhand Culver Bradbury that she was going to “watch” Margot, adding, “I just want to chaperone her a bit.”

“You should come and cuddle with me,” Luke told Margot in the back of the car.

"No, let's go,” said Margot.

“I just want to go to bed,” Margot then told Aesha as Aesha helped her onto the yacht and took her to her cabin.

Once in Margot’s cabin, Aesha told her, “I don’t want any drunkenness to be taken advantage of. So I’d just like to see you get into bed safely. I’ll get you water.”

Luke then appeared in Margot’s cabin in his boxers and said, “Let's have a f---ing jacuzzi,” before going and getting into the hot tub.

“I just saw the way that Luke was looking at you, and I’m feeling very protective,” Aesha told Margot.

Margot responded, “I am glad that you’re here. I don’t want to go in the jacuzzi, I want to go bed. All I want is water and bed, no Luke.”

After getting out of the hot tub, Luke then went back to his cabin, removed his swim trunks and wrapped himself in a towel. Unexpectedly, after the power then went out on the boat, Aesha went to the crew mess, leaving Margot alone in her room. At that point, Luke went into Margot’s cabin and dropped his towel, fully naked as he climbed into her top bunk while she slept.

Producers quickly intervened and told Luke he had to leave “because [Margot] wants to go to bed,” but Luke ignored their instructions and repeatedly told them, “Thank you, very much.”

Luke finally got out of Margot’s bed once the lights came back on. He asked the camera crew, "Can you f--- off for a second?” as he slammed the door to Margot's cabin, but producers pushed it open despite Luke repeatedly trying to close it.

“We can’t do that, she said no, she said no,” the producers told Luke. A frustrated Luke then left Margot’s cabin naked and said, “Jesus Christ, mate.”

Aesha then appeared and told Luke as he left Margot’s cabin, “Dude. “What the f---?”

Mark Rogers/Bravo

Laura then went to find Luke in his cabin and asked him, “What did you do? Honey, what happened?”

“Nothing, f--- them,” responded Luke. “Nothing, I was just sitting there. I had nothing to do with her. F---ing hell, mate!”

Back in Margot’s cabin, Aesha relayed to Margot what had happened. "So we’ve had a power shortage," said Aesha. "So, Laura and I went to the crew mess and I turned around and the producers were like, ‘Get out, get out,’ and then Luke runs out of here naked.”

A shocked Margot responded, “Oh my God. Ew, he was naked?”

"Did you consent to him being in here?” asked Aesha.

"No, I was asleep,” said Margot. “I did not invite that at all.”

“This is why I’m not f---ing comfortable leaving you here,” said Aesha as she gets into bed with Margot. “I’m not having any of this f---ing s---.”

“I didn’t even know,” added Margot.

Aesha began to cry as she went to Captain Jason's quarters to wake him up and tell him what had just happened.

“Basically we came home tonight and I just kind of felt like Luke kind of wanted to take advantage of Margot’s drunkenness a little bit. She was pretty out of it,” she said. “And then the next thing I know the power goes out and Luke is f---ing running out of Margot’s bed naked. She was completely unconscious.”

“Did anything happen?” asked Captain Jason.

“No,” said Aesha.

“So she’s safe? She’s safe, yeah?” asked Captain Jason.

"She’s safe,” Aesha confirmed.

“Where is [Luke] now?” Captain Jason asked.

“Well now Luke is so freaked out that he got caught that he’s locked himself in his room. Culver is locked out of his room. It was so f---ing wrong,” continued Aesha, still crying. "And I just feel like a lot of women have had history with things happen, and it just stresses me out if I ever see anyone being taken advantage of.”

Aesha, having shared in a 2019 episode of Below Deck Mediterranean her own experience with sexual assault, said in a confessional interview on Monday's episode: “We don’t actually know what would have happened, but being in her bed naked and she’s got no idea, it actually makes my skin crawl.”

She continued, “You don’t have the right to put someone unconscious into that position. I have had a drunken sexual assault experience before, and I never wanted that to happen to anyone else. And she’s just such a sweet angel that the thought of anyone violating or being in her space, it just makes me feel sick.”

Laurent Basset/Peacock

Captain Jason then got a key to open Luke and Culver’s cabin and told Luke, “Hey, mate. You need to get up, mate. You need to go, you need to get off the boat tonight. We’re gonna put you in a hotel for the night.”

“What?” asked Luke.

"You’re in a hotel for the night,” said Captain Jason.

“Why?” asked Luke.

"We’ll talk about it tomorrow,” responded Captain Jason.

"I don’t need to be in a hotel,” said Luke. “I’m good, I’m good.”

“You’ve gotta get off, come on mate. Up,” insisted Captain Jason. “Let’s make it easy. Grab a shirt, put your shoes on.”

The next morning, Margot asked Laura to jog her memory about the night out.

“What did we do after the restaurant? We just come here?” asked Margot.

“Yeah,” responded Laura.

“What did I do?” said Margot. “’Cause Luke got into my bed naked. And it was weird.”

“Was his d--- standing?” asked Laura.

“I don’t remember,” said Margot.

A visibly shaken Margot later went over the incident with Aesha and chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph and asked, “How long was he in my room for? Do you know?”

“I don’t know,” responded Aesha.

"I woke up feeling weird, and I knew that whatever, like, happened wasn’t OK,” said Margot. “I was, like, Am I gonna wake up and he’s still here and I just have to act cool? But I’m glad that’s not the case because that would be reality hard for me. I just feel stupid.”

“Don’t ever feel stupid. He should feel stupid,” said Tzarina, holding her hand.

"I mean yeah,” said Margot. “But … I was so drunk.”

"Women should be able to be able to be blackout drunk if they want to be,” said Tzarina. “We should be able to stand naked in a room and not have anyone do anything to us. You know, you were allowed to be drunk, you were allowed to be. It’s the other person’s problem.”

In a confessional, a tearful Margot said, “I feel like disappointed in myself, I feel embarrassed, sad. I’m shocked and I’m processing it, but I’m honestly just, I just feel so loved. It’s a lot of different emotions at once.”

Margot then called her sister Anna and mom to tell them what happened.

"What the f---? Are you OK?” asked her sister.

"Yeah,” said Margot. “I don’t think he did anything because then the producers were knocking on the door and being like, ‘Get out.’ They made him leave, thank God. I just feel really grossed out. I feel so stupid. I was probably being too flirty.”

"It’s not your fault,” her mom told her. “Sorry honey, sorry you had to go through that.”

"Me too,” added Margot.

Captain Jason then texted Luke and asked him to return to the boat to “talk.” As Luke was on his way, the rest of the crew gathered in the main salon, where Captain Jason told them Luke would be coming back on board to collect his belongings because his employment was being terminated.

"We had an incident last night, and I want to stress that this is a place that we respect each other,” Captain Jason told them. “Our cabin is our safety zone. That door is our boundary, that door is not to be opened unless it’s consensual. To walk into into someone else’s room without consent, indecent, is my limit.”

"Are we allowed to say goodbye?” asked Laura.

"No,” said Captain Jason.

Luke then returned to the boat and went into the crew mess with Captain Jason and told him, “I don’t really know what happened, which is eating me up a little bit.”

"Last night there were boundaries crossed,” said Captain Jason. “There was indecency, and you went into someone’s else cabin without consent.”

“Like I was naked?” asked Luke.

“Yeah,” said Captain Jason. “Unfortunately I’ve got nothing else but to terminate your employment.”

“I accept that,” said Luke. “I’m sorry, and I’m just so disappointed in my myself.”

Later in the episode, Margot and Laura were cleaning together when Laura told Margot, “S---, I’m so sad. I can’t believe Luke is gone.”

“You’re sad? I’m not,” said Margot.

"You’re not?” said Laura.

“No. I mean I’m bummed about everything that happened,” said Margot, who then told Laura what happened.

“What would have happened if no one had been there?" Margot asked Laura. “You know? I don’t know. I’m still kind of processing it.”

"Oh poor Luke,” said Laura. “I should have just kept him happy. If he comes naked in my cabin, I’d be like, ‘Hello! Yes!’”

"Yeah you would have loved it,” said Margot, growing uncomfortable.

"But it’s his fault, he rejected me,” laughed Laura. “If he wouldn’t have done that, I would still be with him. I said I would make him regret, and that came true like very big time. It’s his karma.”

“I’m just happy that he’s gone,” said Margot.

But Laura wouldn't let it go. “Oh God, and then he comes back for his bags and we can’t be there, we can’t say goodbye?”

"Like, I don’t really want to talk to him,” said Margot.

In a confessional, Margot wondered aloud, “What the f---? How are you pouting right now? It’s all f---ed up. She’s f---ed up I think.”

In the laundry, Aesha then approached Adam, telling him she’d noticed Laura had been “pretty intense” with him and wanted to check that he was OK.

"I think she thinks I’m playing around because I’m being nice about it,” said Adam. “I don’t want to get anyone in trouble or anything like that, but maybe I’ve got to be more serious.”

“I saw it and it and was like, ‘I’ve got your back,’” said Aesha.

Meanwhile, in a confessional, Laura said that Captain Jason “should have given [Luke] a chance,” in regards to Luke. “It’s not fair,” said Laura. “It’s not deserved, and I don’t agree with it.”

She picked back up her incredibly inappropriate and uncomfortable conversation with Margot in the laundry. “I just don’t think it’s fair anyways, I’m sorry for you, I just think it should be a warning,” she said. “I don’t know. I’m just sad. I think he just meant it as a joke. He’s a funny guy, I don’t think he meant anything bad. He wouldn’t rape you or anything.”

"Yeah,” said Margot blankly.

Laura continued, “He’s a sexual person, I’m a sexual person, you’re a sexual person. We were joking, that thing was probably like, ‘Hahaha, we all drunk.’”

“I don’t know,” said Margot.

Laura then pointed a finger at Margot’s behavior the night before: “And it’s not that you said no to him the whole night, like he didn’t feel comfortable to come to you. He felt welcomed coming there.”

“I don’t think so, though,” said Margot. “Aesha said, ‘Don’t go in there,’ over and over again. Said like, ‘She’s really drunk leave her alone, don’t go in there. She’s passed out.”

Shortly after, Margot told Aesha about what Laura had been saying to her. Aesha immediately called Laura’s response “so f---ing inappropriate,” then went straight to Captain Jason to recap the interactions, while also mentioning Laura’s “very inappropriate, borderline sexual harassment” toward Adam.

She noted of Adam: “He’s like, ‘I feel like I’ve told [Laura] no, and she’s not listening.’”

The night before, around the time the incident with Margot took place, Laura had also crawled into Adam’s bed and tried to massage him even though he had told her he didn’t want her to come into his cabin and to "watch herself" when they were in the hot tub.

After conversations with both Margot and Adam, Captain Jason then called Laura to the wheelhouse.

He began, “Two things: One, Adam feels uncomfortable with some moments out and he’s tried to say no and you have not listened to him and his boundaries to be set. The second thing is, after my multiple speeches with the crew about boundaries, about respect, did you not go to Margot and say, ‘Poor Luke, I wish he would come in and see me’?”

“I actually went to her and asked how she's feeling and is she OK,” claimed Laura.

“She’s not OK. They’re not OK,” said Captain Jason. “They feel there’s a big disconnect now, and it’s not what I want from my team. You’ve disrespected exactly what I set out to do.”

"OK, but I understood what you said, I respect it,” said Laura.

“You didn’t show that,” countered Captain Jason. “For you to go to Margot and say that shows you did not listen to a word I said about boundaries — and it showed little respect and empathy to Margot. I’m trying to move forward as a team, I’m trying to get that behind us and you’ve brought it straight back up, so in that I’m going to terminate your employment today.”

“Wow,” responded Laura. “But I don’t think I have done something wrong that I need to be terminated. Can you give me a warning?”

"No,” said Captain Jason. “I can’t go on with you as part of the team in the environment that I’m trying to set.”

Laura then told Captain Jason she thought his decision was a "mistake" before going to pack her belongings.

"I really think it was the right call," Aesha told Captain Jason.

For her part, Margot said in a confessional: "I feel so much relief, I feel like a weight has been lifted."

Crew Overboard! ‘Below Deck’ Cast Members Who Were Fired During Their Charter Seasons

Kelly Clarkson Weight Loss

If there’s one thing Below Deck franchise fans have come to know, working aboard a super yacht is a high stress, high pressure environment filled with 15-hour plus workdays. For some cast members over the years, the job proved too overwhelming , while for others it was being stuck aboard a boat with coworkers they didn’t get along with that was their downfall .

Strapless Dress

Deal of the Day

Rarely does a season go by without at least one crew member — and in some cases multiple cast mates — getting fired while charter season was underway. Some were let go a few hours before a new group of guests were ready to board a ship, leaving the rest of the crew shorthanded for the charter. However, if the crew doesn’t mesh well or someone makes repeated mistakes, captains have no problem lowering the boom.

Which 'Below Deck' Couples Are Still Together

Scroll down for the Below Deck stars who have been fired and the reasons why they were let go.

Below Deck Stars Fired 302 Adam Kodra

Mark Rogers/Bravo

The Brooklyn native’s background on commercial ships didn’t translate well to his first outing as a deckhand on a super yacht during season 2 of  Below Deck Down Under . After making several mistakes, including not lowering a fender in time during docking so that The Northern Sun hit a pylon, Adam accidentally dropped the anchor while the ship was moving at full cruising speed, which could have been catastrophic if not quickly correctly by bosun  João Franco .

Captain Jason thought that error was serious enough that he no longer trusted Adam with duties aboard his boat. In the August 28, 2023, episode, Adam was let go in favor of bringing in a strong lead deckhand to keep the rest of the deck crew operating smoothly.

“You’re definitely a good bloke, you’re definitely good in the bridge, but on deck I don’t think you have the experience for super yachts and that anchor being dropped underway is kind of where I draw the line,” Captain Jason told Adam, adding, “We’re gonna let you go and we’re gonna bring in a lead deckhand. I just need someone with a lot more experience.”  Luka Brunton  came aboard in time for the next charter to help take charge of the deck under João.

The well-liked Adam was all class in his response, telling Jason, “I apologize for even creating that for the time that I was here, but thank you so much for giving me the opportunity.” He said in his confessional that he was going back to working on commercial vessels but hoped to give super yachting another try one day.

Below Deck Stars Fired 366 Luke Jones

The season 2  Below Deck Down Under  bosun was escorted off the boat and fired after he crawled naked into stew Margot Sisson’s bunk after she was passed out following a crew night out that involved heavy drinking. During the episode that aired on August 7, 2023, producers dramatically tried to pull Luke off a sleeping Margot and he eventually stumbled back to his cabin and locked the door. Chief stew Aesha Scott found out about what happened and immediately woke up Captain Jason Chambers to alert him to the situation. Luke was sent to a nearby hotel and returned to the yacht in the morning, where Jason terminated him on the spot. Although Luke didn’t remember what happened due to being heavily intoxicated, he accepted his dismissal and left The Northern Star for good.

Below Deck Stars Fired 367 Laura Bileskalne

Laura Bileskalne

The second stew’s open lack of empathy for what happened to a deeply shaken Margot following Luke’s actions led to her firing during the same episode. Not only did the Latvia native ask if she could say goodbye to Luke when Captain Jason told the crew he’d been let go, she went on to complain he shouldn’t have been fired and simply let off with a warning, not viewing what he did as something serious. Laura then told Margot that she would have been happy to have Luke crawl naked into her bed and didn’t understand why her coworker was rattled by the ordeal.

Laura also had issues with being an unwanted visitor in a crew member’s bed the same night as Luke’s actions. After overtly hitting on deckhand Adam Kodra repeatedly despite him telling her he wasn’t interested, she climbed into his bunk and began pouring massage oil on his back, even though he asked her to leave. Producers once again got involved and told Laura she needed to leave his cabin.

Aesha had already observed Laura making Adam uncomfortable and asked him about her behavior. Margot then came to her boss about the cold things Laura said to her regarding Luke’s actions. Aesha went to Captain Jason with the information, and he called both Adam and Margot to the bridge to hear their stories firsthand. Laura was then called in and Jason fired her on the spot for going against everything he said in the crew meeting about empathy and respecting other’s spaces.

Alissa Humber Below Deck Stars Fired

Laurent Bassett/Bravo

Alissa Humber

The  Below Deck  season 10 second stew got on Captain Sandy Yawn’s bad side after the skipper fired her nemesis,  Camille Lamb . Sandy perceived an “attitude” from Alissa and had enough of what she believed to be “insubordination” when during a one-on-one meeting, the stewardess referred to her boss by her first name only, then corrected herself to include “captain.”

“Yesterday was the [last] straw for me. Your insubordination and lack of respect is insurmountable,” the  Below Deck Med  captain told her interior member on the February 20, 2023, episode. “Alissa, when you said, ‘Yes Sandy. I mean Captain Sandy.’ That was a f—k you to my face. No matter what job you work in, respect for hierarchy is a must. I am letting you go,” she told a shocked Alissa, who was then escorted off the yacht by bosun  Ross McHarg .

It appears Alissa will be the last crew member Sandy fires, as at the end of the episode she got a call from Captain Lee Rosbach, telling her he’d been medically cleared to return to the St. David and would take back his skippering duties the following day.

Below Deck Camille Lamb - 118

Camille Lamb

The  Below Deck season 10 deck/stew seemed to want to be a guest aboard the St. David rather than an employee. She complained about tasks she was given, repeatedly ignored instructions and clashed nonstop with second stew  Alissa Humber . Even Captain Sandy Yawn scolded Camille for her “fresh mouth” after she made multiple negative comments over the ship-wide radios. The Mississippi native was given one final charter to show improvement or get fired. Camille made it through the voyage by the skin of her teeth, even though she got in a screaming match with Alissa in front of the charter’s guests. The final straw came on turn over day, when she knocked off early from cleaning cabins to drink champagne and party with the deck crew on the dock. Chief stew  Fraser Olender had enough after catching Camille with a “pint” full of champagne aboard the yacht when she should have been working, saying in a confessional that Camille showed “no care or willingness to do the job.” Fraser went to Sandy and recommended Camille be let go, and she was subsequently terminated by the captain at the end of the January 16, 2023, episode. The blonde beauty later claimed she was  encouraged to drink by producers  during a confessional taping off the boat before being sent back to the yacht to finish her work in a “sauced” condition.

Kyle Dickard

The first yachtie from the new franchise addition  Below Deck Adventure  was sent packing in the show’s third episode on November 15, 2022. The brusque deckhand from Texas had already made one of the stews uncomfortable by kissing her in front of guests, which got back to a very irked Captain Kerry. Kyle then threatened his bunkmate Nathan Morley when he politely reminded Kyle that he kept forgetting to flush their toilet. The self-proclaimed “cowboy” threatened to “tussle” with his roommate over the issue. Nathan took his concerns for his safety to Kerry, who gave Kyle the option of resigning or being fired and having it on his yachting record. The former rodeo clown chose the former, leaving The Mercury down their most experienced deckhand hours before a new charter was about to get underway.

Below Deck Crew Members Fired

Laurent Basset/Bravo

Ryan McKeown

The  Below Deck Down Under  season 1 chef proved to have the most “can’t do” attitude of any cook to hit the franchise’s galley. He constantly criticized guests’ meal and food requests even though they were paying tens of thousands of dollars for five-star cuisine on their charters, underperformed when he thought their dinner selections were boring and generally slacked off on doing anything more than the absolute basics of his job. When Captain Jason Chambers told him he needed to up the “wow” factor in his cuisine, Ryan got combative with his boss rather than take the constructive criticism to heart. He stepped it up for one charter’s worth of meals before falling back into his lazy ways, making simple and not very tasty tacos for a charter that asked for a full Mexican “fiesta” worth of food. Jason tried to replace Ryan earlier in the season, but no chefs were available to work on the Thalassa. Between his bad attitude, underwhelming food, constantly clashing with chief stew Aesha Scott and all-around disrespect toward his crew mates, Jason finally gave Ryan the heave-ho when a new chef became available with two charters left in the season. Showing his total lack of class, Ryan pulled his pants down and mooned Jason while leaving the boat.

Below Deck Crew Members Fired

Magda Ziomek

The season 1  Below Deck Down Under  stew drove the rest of her interior team, as well as Captain Jason Chambers, crazy with the overwhelming amount of time she spent on her phone texting and and FaceTiming with her boyfriend back in Poland. It proved to be a total distraction from her work duties, as well as literally giving her sleepless nights. Her ineffective performance with laundry, cleaning cabins and serving guests ultimately led to her downfall, as Magda was let go with only two charters remaining in the season.

Below Deck Crew Members Fired

Raygan Tyler

The season 7  Below Deck Med  bosun had some big shoes to fill leading Captain Sandy’s deck team after Malia White didn’t return due to taking a higher position on another boat. Raygan spent more time on smoke breaks than working and completely failed at managing her deck crew. Raygan wasn’t able to correctly determine the simple distance between the yacht and a floating piling while the vessel was docking, causing the boat to hit it.

Even the charter guests openly complained about her total lack of interest in helping them with water activities … which was an integral part of her job. Captain Sandy let her go and promoted far more competent deckhand Storm Smith to the bosun position.

Below Deck Crew Members Fired

Tom Pearson

The Englishman was fired from  Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 after repeatedly showing his lack of work ethic. Then he allowed the Parsifal III’s anchor to drag during heavy winds while on night watch and failed to alert anyone to the vessel’s dire situation. While Captain Glenn Shepard is a pretty easygoing guy, Tom just proved to be too much of a liability to keep aboard his sailing yacht.

Below Deck Crew Members Fired

Lexi Wilson

The former Bahamian beauty queen came aboard season 6 of Below Deck Med with plenty of attitude. She was definitely not there to make friends and had an especially combative relationship with chef Matt Shea. Her constant clashes with her crew mates led Captain Sandy to fire Lexi for the good of onboard morale.

elow Deck Crew Members Fired

Elizabeth Frankini

The yoga and crystal enthusiast was just not cut out for the speediness and timeliness of interior work aboard a super yacht. Elizabeth was a constant headache for chief stew Francesca Rubi on season 8 of Below Deck. She turned out to cause literal headaches when she bleached a shirt in the laundry room and accidentally made a toxic gas mixture that spread to the crew mess and other areas of the boat.

She spent more time flirting with deckhand James, with whom she’d had a brief boatmance and didn’t want to let things go, than she did working. In addition, she was not being able to follow directions and assignments Francesca was repeatedly having to give her. After multiple talks between Ches and Captain Lee Rosbach about Liz’s poor performance, she was let go from her stew position.

Screen Shot 2022-09-23 at 17.43.11

Shane Coopersmith

The inexperienced deckhand was more interested in getting his message out about saving the planet than he was in helping assist the deck crew in keeping My Seanna in ship-shape. He had to learn basic knots, didn’t understand assignments given to him by first mate Eddie Lucas and decided to take naps whenever he felt tired … in addition to missing his wake-up alarm and being late for his shift.

Shane was fired early on in season 8 of Below Deck for just not cutting it with basic deckhand duties. Fortunately, he did succeed in his environmental mission to replace plastic straws on yacht with paper ones!

Below Deck Crew Members Fired

Karolina Wojtasik/Bravo

Hannah Ferrier

The show’s most controversial firing, EVER. After 5 seasons as Captain Sandy’s chief stew on Below Deck Med , Hannah was let go for having undeclared valium which she kept for panic attacks (and had a prescription for) as well as a vape pen.

The items were discovered by her bunkmate, bosun Malia White, after Hannah had a crippling anxiety attack. She took photos of Hannah’s items and forwarded them to Sandy. The captain immediately fired Hannah, as she hadn’t declared her medication before the season got underway and the valium was deemed by Sandy to be “drugs” onboard her vessel.

Below Deck Crew Members Fired

Peter Hunziker

Below Deck Med  season 5 viewers never got to know Pete because he was fired in June 2020, just before the show premiered, for posting a racially charged meme to his social media. Producers had him edited out of the season as a result, though his presence was still seen occasionally in docking shots and other scenes where he was visible in the background.

Below Deck Crew Members Fired

Mila Kolomeitseva

While she claimed to be Cordon Bleu trained, the Below Deck Med season 4 chef proved to be seriously lacking in simple cooking skills. After attempting to serve sad-looking plain cheese nachos to guests, she later revealed she didn’t know how to make pancakes.

Since five-star food is one of the reasons guests book a super yacht trip, Captain Sandy quickly let Mila go and replaced her with third stew Anastasia Surmava. Anastasia proved to be far more adept in the kitchen, until chef Ben Robinson arrived mid-season to finish out the rest of the charters aboard the Sirocco.

Why Tom Pearson Got Fired On Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Tom Pearson posing for selfie

Season 3 of "Below Deck Sailing Yacht"  proved to be a shocking one full of twists and turns. The most surprising event, however, occurred during Episode 7 when Captain Glenn Shephard sent deckhand and cast member Tom Pearson packing, leaving the crew temporarily short-staffed. Still, Shephard was adamant he made the right call. "Yeah, that's a tough one," Shephard admitted about the difficult decision during a "Watch What Happens Live" appearance. "It had to be done," he declared. "It was such a grievous thing that he dropped the ball there, he had to go, and we had to just be man down and live with it, you know? So, obviously, you don't want to do that, but yeah, it had to happen," he maintained.

But what exactly did Pearson do that was so "grievous" that it warranted a pink slip from Shephard? Here's everything we know about Pearson's infamous "Below Deck" firing ...

Tom Pearson let the boat drag on his watch

The story goes that during a night of anchor watch, deckhand Tom Pearson allowed the famous sailing yacht, Parsifal III, to drag. And in case you're wondering, that's extremely dangerous and a big no-no in the boating world! "It's as serious as it gets. I mean, there are boats, similar boats, who have been in the same situation where they didn't recover," Captain Glenn Shephard explained to  E! News .

Still, Pearson claimed the mistake happened innocently enough. According to Pearson, he had come to the end of his shift when he decided to go downstairs to make himself a cup of coffee or tea, and that's when the alarm went off. "So I was like, 'What is going on?' So I ran upstairs, went outside, and that's when I realized everything was blowing everywhere. I was trying to stop stuff from falling off the boat," he recalled during an interview with Sportskeeda . "Fifteen minutes before that, there was barely any wind," he added.

Alas, Shephard has an entirely different version of events...

Captain Glenn Shephard is not buying Tom Pearson's story

Captain Glenn Shephard isn't buying Tom Pearson's "fifteen-minute" story. "I've had a little bit of time to think about this and it's quite clear that it took us quite a long time to drag," Shephard said on camera about the incident. "I have no understanding of how you couldn't notice it if you're on anchor watch."

And it appears Pearson was equally aware of the gravity of his mistake. "Of course, I absolutely understand now, you know, it was my fault. There's no getting around that," he later divulged at the Season 3 reunion. "I think at the time, you know, I went straight into self-defense mode. But, you know, you have time to look over these things, you have time to look back. And everyone knows — I've spoken to everyone individually — I take full responsibility for what happened that night. And I think that's important that everyone knows that. I blame no one else."

But if you think Pearson's yachting days are over, think again. In March 2022, he appeared on Daisy Kelliher's podcast "Pita Party" and revealed that he was presently working on a yacht in Miami, hosting a famous Australian DJ. "Still on a yacht. Still working out. Absolutely living the dream, you know?" he gushed about his current working situation. Perhaps everything really does work out in the end, after all!

‘Below Deck’s Biggest Firings Over The Years: Luke Jones & More

Luke Jones

  • Below Deck and its four spinoffs air on Bravo.
  • Cast members have been fired from the shows for various reasons.
  • Luke Jones  was fired from  Below Deck Med for inappropriate behavior.

Every season of Below Deck and its spinoffs is a wild ride, especially when crew members lose their jobs. Fans have witnessed some unforgettable firings happen over the years on Below Deck ,  Below Deck Med ,  Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Below Deck Down Under , and Below Deck Adventure . It was an iconic moment when Hannah Ferrier lost her job on  Below Deck Med  for sneaking Valium. And we’ll never forget when Luke Jones   was fired from Below Deck Down Under  for inappropriate behavior.

There’s never a dull moment with the Below Deck  crew. HollywoodLife  has rounded up all the biggest firings that have ever happened on the Below Deck  franchise below.

Adam Lukasiewicz

Adam Lukasiewicz

Adam Lukasiewicz  is the latest  Below Deck  star to be fired. He lost his job as Deckhand on the August 28 episode of  Below Deck Down Under  because of his inexperience. He accidentally released the anchor while the ship was still moving at full speed. Captain  Jason Chambers   fired Adam and told him, “I don’t think you have the experience for super yachts and that anchor being dropped underway is kind of where I draw the line. We’re gonna let you go and we’re gonna bring in a lead deckhand. I just need someone with a lot more experience.” Adam apologized for his mistake and shared an emotional goodbye with the other crew members.

Laura Bileskalne

Laura Bileskalne

Laura Bileskalne   was fired from  Below Deck Down Under  because of how she reacted to the incident with Luke. On the August 7 episode, she defended Luke after he nearly sexually assaulted Margot Sisson . Laura had also gone into  Adam  Kodra ‘s bed and tried massaging him without his consent. All of this resulted in Captain Jason firing Laura from her job as 2nd Stewardess.

Luke Jones

Luke Jones’ firing from  Below Deck Down Under  made headlines in August 2023. He was cut from the show after he climbed into stewardess Margot Sisson‘s bed naked without her consent, which forced production to have to intervene. Captain Jason told Luke that “boundaries were crossed” and he fired him from The Northern Sun effective immediately.

Alissa Humber

Alissa Humber

Alissa Humber  was fired from  Below Deck  season 10 in February 2023 for “insubordination.”  Captain Sandy   let Alissa go as second stew after several incidents of drama. Alissa left the boat saying that she thought her firing was “so funny.”

Camille Lamb

Camille Lamb

Camille Lamb   was also fired from  Below Deck  season 10 for causing too much trouble. Most of the crew members complained that Camille wasn’t doing her job well so Captain Sandy fired her. Camille clashed with some of the crew and cried saying goodbye to deckhand Ben Willoughby  before she left.

Kyle Dickard

Kyle Dickard

Kyle Dickard  was fired from  Below Deck Adventure  season 1 for fighting with Nathan Morley . Kyle, the ship’s deckhand, was warned about his behavior but he couldn’t help himself. He was allowed to resign so the incident didn’t go on his record.

Lexi Wilson

Lexi Wilson  got the boot from season 6 of  Below Deck Med . She got into too many fights with her crew members so Captain Sandy felt that her time as stewardess was up.

Raygan Tyler

Raygan Tyler

Raygan Tyler  was the bosun on season 7 of  Below Deck Med . She got fired by Captain Sandy for her lack of experience. Raygan only lasted five episodes on the show.

Ryan McKeown

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ryan James (@chefryanmckeown)

Ryan McKeown  didn’t do a great job as chef on season 1 of  Below Deck Down Under . He was rude to the other crew members and was unwilling to change the food he was making. He flashed his butt at the cameras and Captain Jason after his firing.

Tom Pearson

View this post on Instagram A post shared by T O M P E A R S O N (@tompearsonn)

Tom Pearson  was the deckhand on season 3 of  Below Deck Sailing Yacht . He put everyone in danger when he neglected his job when the ship’s anchor dragged. His frequent gossiping and napping didn’t help his case, either, and he was fired by Captain Glenn Shephard .

Hannah Ferrier

Hannah Ferrier

Hannah Ferrier was the Chief Stew on the first five seasons of  Below Deck Med . She got fired after  Malia White   reported her for sneaking Valium and a vape pen on the ship. Hannah claimed the Valium was for her anxiety, but Captain Sandy still fired her.

Peter Hunziker

Deckhand Peter Hunziker got fired from  Below Deck Med after season 5 started airing for racist social media posts . “Peter Hunziker of  Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post,” Bravo said in a statement in the summer of 2020. “Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes.” Peter apologized for his racist posts five weeks after his firing.

Mila Kolomeitseva

Chef Mila Kolomeitseva  couldn’t keep her job on season 4 of  Below Deck Med . She made too many mistakes in the kitchen and Captain Sandy fired her. Mila cried to the cameras over her departure.

Leon Walker

Leon Walker  was the first  Below Deck  star to ever be fired. The chef accidentally started a fire on season 3 and blamed it on Kate Chastain . However, Captain Lee figured out the truth and let Leon go.

Does [SPOILER] Leave 'Below Deck Down Under'? Jamie Sayed Chimes In (EXCLUSIVE)

Shannon Raphael - Author

Sep. 6 2022, Updated 3:46 p.m. ET

Jamie Sayed, Chef Ryan McKeown, Tumi Mhlongo, and Magda Ziomek on 'Below Deck Down Under.'

Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for Season 1 of Below Deck Down Under on Peacock .

While Below Deck Down Under is unique because it premiered exclusively on Peacock in the U.S., and because it was the first Below Deck series to film in Australia, the spinoff has all of the drama that fans have grown to love (and to expect) from any show in the franchise.

In March of 2022, viewers saw nine M/Y Thalassa crew members kick off their journey around the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef area for the first time when the series debuted on Peacock.

Early on in the season, teasers revealed that at least one crew member would get fired. Though there were a few suspects early on, Captain Captain Jason Chambers (aka Captain Cutie) ultimately decided to fire two of his crew members before the charter season officially ended.

So, who got fired on Below Deck Down Under ? The debut season is now airing on Bravo, so viewers may be looking for spoilers about the crew members who lost their places on the boat.

In the spring of 2022, Jamie Sayed, the Bosun on board M/Y Thalassa , exclusively gave Distractify a major hint about who left the boat early. Keep reading for all of the details!

Brittini Burton, Jamie Sayed, and Culvery Bradbury on an episode of 'Below Deck Down Under.'

Who gets fired on 'Below Deck Down Under' Season 1?

Before the Peacock series debuted in March 2022, a teaser trailer indicated that the captain would fire a crew member at some point during the charter season.

"I had to make a decision. I'm going to let you go," Captain Jason said in the teaser clip. He made good on his promise in the thirteenth episode of the season.

Drama ensued when Captain Jason asked his chief stew, Aesha Scott, if she felt as though someone on her team had to be replaced.

The fan favorite had issues with Magda Ziomek's performance all season, and the stew focused a lot of her attention on her constant communication with her then long distance-boyfriend, Maciek.

Though Magda had promised to do better (especially after one of her white gloves got caught in the plumbing), she hadn't improved enough for Aesha's liking.

Magda Ziomek

Captain Jason fired Magda, but she ultimately took the decision in stride. She recognized her shortcomings, she offered her appreciation to Aesha and Captain Jason for their guidance, and she promised to do better at her next job.

Though fans had initially thought that only one crew member would be let go, another cast mate got fired shortly after Magda.

Did Chef Ryan get fired on 'Below Deck Down Under'? Bosun Jamie Sayed previously teased "another" firing.

During an exclusive chat with Distractify back in April of 2022, Jamie suggested that more than one crew member would be getting the boot ahead of the Season 1 finale.

"I think most people know who's gonna get it," Jamie said about the firing, before teasing that more than one person could be leaving the boat early. "There could be another, possibly."

While the Bosun didn't elaborate further on the identity of the second terminated employee, he teased that there would be "more drama."

"[There's] lots more drama happening, and lots more tears within the interior," Jamie added added.

Shortly after Magda was let go, viewers found out that Chef Ryan was the second person to get terminated from the boat.

Magda Ziomek and Chef Ryan McKeown.

On the fourteenth episode, "New Kids on the Block," Captain Jason noted that he still wasn't getting positive comments from the guests about Ryan's meals.

"The food, we've tried to get that wow factor going, but with the guests' feedback, I'm gonna have to let you go, mate," the captain said.

Chef Ryan's exit wasn't as calm as Magda's, and Aesha was certainly relieved that he was let go.

"I'm so happy," she told second stew Tumi Mhlongo on the show. "I don't have to look at his face anymore, hallelujah."

Below Deck 's Fraser Olender Is Ready to Fire This Crewmember in Tense Sneak Peek

One below deck season 11 yachtie tests chief stew fraser olender's last nerve by disrespecting his authority once again in e news' exclusive preview of the bravo series' march 11 episode..

It's Barbie's world—and Fraser Olender is tired of living in it.

In fact, the Below Deck Chief Stew seems ready to throw Stew  Barbie Pascual overboard for her constant back-talking and negative attitude in E! News' exclusive sneak peek at the Bravo series' March 11 episode.

While setting up their charter guests' dinner table, the crewmembers have a tense exchange after Barbie, once again, questions her boss' leadership skills.

"Do I have to switch out silverware tonight?" she asks in the clip, to which Fraser replies, "No, you shouldn't have to."

Barbie quips back, "I'm not really good with this. I'm just used to having a Chief Stew who tells me."

The passive-aggressive comment rubs Fraser the wrong way, prompting him to address it head-on.. "Do you want me to tell you?" he asks. "Is that what you're trying to say?"

In a confessional, Fraser admits Barbie's attitude is reminiscent of controversial season 10 Stew Camille Lamb , who was fired last year for her unprofessionalism and continual refusal to obey the rules.

"Barbie is demonstrating she really has no respect for authority," he notes. "I'm not going down the same route as last year. There was a lack of respect. Respect me or walk off. There's no room for any wavering in that."

Following their awkward interaction, Fraser rants about his problematic yachtie to Chef  Anthony Iracane .

"I don't like that girl," the 30-year-old admits. "You know what she said to me up there? She's like, 'I haven't got a really good understanding of the cutlery and how it works on it.' She goes, 'Usually the Chief Stew just tells me.' It's just so passive-aggressive."

See if Barbie's days aboard the St. David are numbered when Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

And keep reading to look back at the most explosive firings in Bravo history.

If there's one thing to learn from Camille Lamb 's Below Deck firing, it's to not slack off on the job. That's exactly why the season 10 stew was let go by substitute Captain Sandy Yawn , as Chief Stew Fraser Olender continued to criticize Camille's behavior on board.

From being caught drinking while preparing for a new charter to partying at late hours and more, Fraser informed Captain Sandy that he had reached his "last straw."

"She's the common denominator in all of this," said Captain Sandy. "Great girl, great personality, but at the same time, we have to do what's best for the boat."

Below Deck Adventure 's Kyle Dickard was let go just three episodes into the reality franchise's latest series—which premiered in November 2022. After picking fights with his fellow deckhand Nathan Morley —as well as kissing crew mates in front of guests—Kyle was offered by Captain Kerry Titheradge the opportunity to resign so that his firing would not end up on his personal record.

Kyle took the Captain up on his offer and left the boat after just one charter.

Captain Sandy let bosun Raygan Tyler go during season seven of Below Deck Mediterranean ,  not only for causing the boat to  take a small hit while docking, but also for not stepping up to the plate as a leader.

But Captain Sandy didn't want her firing to discourage the bosun, as she told Raygan, "If I had the time and I wasn't running a boat this size, I would train you. I would teach you."

In addition to onboard romances and failing to follow directions , one of the biggest reasons behind stew Elizabeth Frankini 's Below Deck firing was her infamous laundry room accident , during which made a toxic mess when combining bleach and laundry soap.

"Unfortunately, I didn't know that was so toxic and I feel so bad about it," she told E! News of the incident in December 2020 . "You know, I do feel really bad, especially 'cause Francesca [ Rubi ] did say, 'Take it outside.'"

The bosun and stew were both fired by Captain Jason Chambers for inappropriate behavior after a night of partying with their fellow yachties.

Luke Jones was let go after getting into Stew Margot Sisson 's bed naked while she was drunk and unconscious. Laura Bileskaine also made unwanted advances on Deckhand Adam Kodra despite him telling her he was not interested in hooking up.

Jason made it known that consent was a must, and sent both crewmembers packing.

Tensions between stew Lexi Wilson and Chef Mathew Shea came to a head during an explosive dinner fight on season six of Below Deck Mediterranean , during which Lexi told Matt that his parents "should've aborted you." That was the last straw for Captain Sandy, who fired her not long after the incident.

Deckhand Tom Pearson said "bon voyage" to Below Deck Sailing Yacht after getting let go by Captain Glenn Shephard . Tom hit his last strike with the Captain after failing to report that the boat's anchor was dragging during heavy winds one night, causing a potential safety risk for everyone on board.

"It had to be done. It was such a grievous thing that he dropped the ball there, he had to go, and we had to just be man down and live with it, you know?" Captain Glenn said of the decision  on Watch What Happens Live. "So, obviously, you don't want to do that, but yeah, it had to happen."

Some people are picky eaters, but Below Deck Down Under' s Ryan McKeown was quite the picky chef, as he would judge guests'  food requests  and fail to take  criticism from Captain Jason Chambers , as well.

Perhaps Ryan's Below Deck exit is one of the franchise's most memorable, as he mooned Jason and viewers on his way off the boat.

Below Deck Down Under stew Magda Ziomek 's firing was another case of slacking on the job. After constantly being on her phone texting or video chatting with her boyfriend, Chief Stew Aesha Scott decided to replace Magda before the end of the charter season.

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Peter Hunziker was fired from the series in June 2020 after he shared an offensive post on social media.

"Peter Hunziker of Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post," Bravo wrote in a statement at the time. "Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes."

Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier was let go by Captain Sandy on Below Deck Mediterranean after boson Malia White discovered her co-star possessed undeclared Valium and a vape pen, the former of which Hannah claimed was for her anxiety.

"If I could do it all over again, I would've just declared them as soon as I came on board," Hannah stated in an August 2020 interview with E! News. "It was definitely not something that was intentional. I wasn't trying to hide anything.

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Delaney Evans left just as quickly as she arrived. After initially being brought on during season six to help out Chief Stew Katie Flood , Katie determined that Delaney was doing more harm than good, choosing to let her go after just one charter.

"I think she was overwhelmed with the situation, and I think that, you know, in her mind, the best solution to the situation was just to go back to what they had before," Delaney told Bravo Insider of Katie's decision. "I think she was just overwhelmed with everything that was going on and all the feedback she was getting."

Deckhand Shane Coopersmith was a bit in over his head on season eight of Below Deck , as he was let go for failing to know basic skills, reporting late for duty and taking naps on the job.

Chaos in the kitchen led to Captain Lee Rosbach letting Chef Leon Walker go on season three of Below Deck . After an oven fire broke out , Lee placed the blame on Chief Stew Kate Chastain but was ultimately the one sent home.

Like several of the franchise's stars, Below Deck 's Chris Brown  was fired  during season five for failing to fully perform his duties. After being let go by Captain Lee, Chris shared some parting words as he left the boat, stating , "Who gives a s--t?"

Chef Mila Kolomeitseva was fired by Captain Sandy on season four of Below Deck Mediterranean after failing to use her cooking skills to produce top-quality food for guests—including some not-so-nice nachos .

"Of course it makes me feel awful," Mila said of her departure . "People like me who have big egos sometimes have to be put down to earth a little bit. But it makes me feel like I want to work even harder."

Sometimes people just don't work well together. That's exactly why Captain Lee fired Chandler Brooks during season six of Below Deck , telling the boson, "I don't think it's a good fit."

Captain Glenn Shephard on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Captain Glenn Shephard has given fans a few things to discuss.

Captain Glenn quickly became a fan favorite when the hit sailing show was revamped for Season 2.

However, today, the captain has become one of the most beloved members of the Below Deck family.

Recently, Captain Glenn had Instagram buzzing after he shared a throwback photo from him as a bosun, where he was looking very serious with his sunglasses on and posed.

“Back in my Bosun days. Had a bit more hair back then 😂 No idea why I was so serious for this one 😎,” he captioned the picture.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 won’t hit Bravo airwaves until Below Deck Season 11 wraps up. The season has only just begun, with plenty more drama to play out before we get to the hit sailing show.

Captain Glenn also had fun when one fan asked why all the Below Deck captains are so hot.

“Smoke and mirrors?” he wrote.

Here’s what else we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5

While fans are anxiously waiting for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, there are a few things we know. For one, Daisy Kelliher and Gary King are back for another stint following their Season 4 rift.

How Gary will be portrayed or how involved he is in the season remains up in the air following allegations of sexual assault against him that came out after filming wrapped last summer.

Sadly, Colin MacRae won’t return for another season amid his falling out with Daisy. It’s unclear if it’s because of things that unfolded between him, Gary, and Daisy or if he simply wanted to sail his newly restored catamaran.

In other Below Deck Sailing Yacht news, Daisy has built a friendship with Hollywood A-lister Christina Appelgate .

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is currently on hiatus on Bravo. Seasons 1-4 are streaming on Peacock.

Below Deck Season 11: Cast Members Who Will Likely Get Fired

  • Season 11 of Below Deck will have a record number of firings, according to returning cast members.
  • Jared Woodin, the bosun, is likely to be the first crew member fired due to multiple mistakes.
  • Stew Cat Baugh and Chef Anthony Iracane are also at risk of being fired due to their sensitivity and slow cooking, respectively.

Below Deck season 11 has started and there is already speculation about who will get fired . Season 11 had quite a start with Captain Kerry Titheradge from Below Deck Adventure taking over for Captain Lee Rosbach after 10 seasons and the return of Chief Steward Fraser Olender and Deckhand Ben Willoughby. Besides the familiar faces, Below Deck season 11's cast added several new crew members to the team. They include Bosun Jared Woodin, Stews Cat Baugh, Barbara "Barbie" Pascual, Chef Anthony Iracane, and deckhand Sunny Marquis, Xandi Olivier, and Kyle Stillie.

There is no surprise that Below Deck season 11 will see some firings at the hands of Captain Kerry. Every season in the Below Deck franchise sees at least one person fired. If there isn't one, such as Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2, it's quite a shock to viewers. However, Below Deck season 11 is guaranteed to have a few firings, as returning cast members Fraser and Ben confirmed this. They revealed Below Deck will break a new record in the worst possible way as they have a record number of firings. But who could they be?

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Jared woodin.

Out of everyone on the Below Deck season 11 cast, Jared is most likely to get fired . During episode 1, Jared already made two mistakes . His first mistake was showing his deckhands around the front of the yacht without giving Captain Kerry a heads-up. Kerry made note of this during one of his confessionals but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, his next mistake was a lot more upsetting to the captain. Jared dropped too many shackles in the water, which Captain Kerry never said to do. Kerry is already feeling uneasy about Jared as his bosun , so he'll likely be the first to go.

The next crew member likely to get the boot is Cat, one of the stews. While she seems like a lovely person and gets along with her fellow crew members, Cat might be too sensitive to handle the job. She already cried during the first episode of Below Deck season 11 after feeling overwhelmed, and Fraser had to console her. As he left her, Fraser even said under his breath, " She's not gonna last ." The pressure might get to Cat, forcing Kerry and Fraser to send her packing.

Chef Anthony Iracane

The final possible firing from the Below Deck season 11 crew is Chef Anthony. While he seems like an amazing chef and the guests clearly enjoyed his food, he may be too slow for a yacht chef. During the first dinner of the first charter, the guests complained several times about waiting for Anthony's meals . Besides the long wait times, Chef Anthony is quite messy when he's cooking , which could pose an issue for the rest of the crew since they usually help with dishes. Only time will tell, but Chef Anthony could be one of the crew members on the chopping block this season.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.

Below Deck is a popular reality TV franchise that focuses on a group of crew members as they work on luxurious yachts and cater to their client's needs. After the original series proved to be a success, Bravo developed a handful of spinoff shows including Below Deck Selling Yacht, Below Deck Adventure, Below Deck Down Under, and Below Deck Mediterranean.

Below Deck Season 11: Cast Members Who Will Likely Get Fired

Screen Rant

Below deck: what happened to captain lee rosbach after season 10.

Captain Lee Rosbach did not return for Below Deck season 11 after 10 seasons with the Bravo series. What is the infamous captain up to now in 2024?

  • Captain Lee was fired from Below Deck due to Bravo wanting to go in another direction.
  • Lee is hosting a new true-crime series, Deadly Waters, after leaving Below Deck.
  • Captain Lee has started his own podcast, Salty with Captain Lee, discussing Bravo gossip.

Captain Lee Rosbach was a mainstay on Below Deck , and it was shocking when he left; so what is the beloved captain up to now? The inaugural season of the Bravo series began in 2013 with Lee at the helm. During the first season, he was known as the no-nonsense captain and quickly gained a fanbase for his grumpy attitude. Even though Captain Lee didn't seem like he was always in the best mood, he was still a fan favorite in the franchise. Now that he's no longer the captain, there is a huge hole in the Below Deck franchise.

Through his time on Below Deck , Captain Lee was the one cast member viewers could count on. When he was replaced for a short time during seasons 9 and 10, it was strange to watch the series without him in charge. Despite Below Deck not being the same without Captain Lee, it was revealed in 2023 that Lee wouldn't be returning for Below Deck season 11 ; Captain Kerry Titheradge from Below Deck Adventure took over the role as captain. So far, the season's been great, but die-hard fans will always have a special place in their hearts for Captain Lee.

Captain lee was fired from below deck, bravo wanted to go in another direction.

In an interview with Us Weekly from May 2023, Captain Lee opened up about getting fired from Below Deck and how he was shocked by his sudden departure. Lee said the firing came " out of left field ," not expecting to get the boot from the show so soon. Lee didn't get an exact reason behind the firing; the higher-ups simply told him they wanted to go in a different direction .

" That came right out of left field. I did not see that one coming at all ," Lee said to the publication at the time.

Lee went on to say that what the network told him is kind of a " cliche that everybody uses when they find themselves in that situation where they’re going to let somebody go ." The reality star did say that these types of firing clichés are getting a bit " tired " and "overused." Even though Captain Lee was let go from Below Deck , he would come back if they ever needed him back one day. Lee clearly loved doing the show, especially in the beginning, so he would be down to give his role as the captain on Below Deck another spin.

Captain Lee Is On A New TV Show

Lee is hosting a true-crime series.

Shortly after Captain Lee confirmed his departure from Below Deck , Deadline revealed that the Stud of The Sea would be joining a new TV series. After spending over 10 years on Below Deck , Captain Lee will now host the new true-crime series, Deadly Waters . The Oxygen series, which is a sister network to Bravo, follows murders that have taken place in the open waters and ocean. The show is currently in production with no exact release date; however, X user @BelowDeckSailng revealed that the series will likely premiere sometime in late 2024.

Captain Lee Has He's Own Podcast

Lee talks about bravo on new podcast.

Now that Captain Lee no longer has his Bravo paycheck, he's been searching down other avenues to make some money. Besides his new hosting duties on a true-crime series, Captain Lee also started his own podcast called Salty with Captain Lee . The podcast is part of the PodcastOne Network which is also home to other big-name podcasts such as Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe , Ladygang , and more. Captain Lee's podcast centers around Bravo gossip and other pop culture news. In a recent episode, Captain Lee even spoke about the shocking separation between Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, alums of Vanderpump Rules .

Will Captain Lee Ever Return To Below Deck?

Lee would return but likely won't.

If given the chance, Captain Lee would definitely return to Below Deck . In the Us Weekly piece mentioned earlier, Lee did say he would return if the network ever wanted him back on the show. He was a beloved character in the series, so of course, Lee would want to return for the fans.

However, now that Below Deck season 11 has aired , and viewers seem to be enjoying Captain Kerry at the helm, it remains to be seen if Lee will ever be asked back. Besides, Captain Lee has suffered through some serious medical issues in the last two seasons he was on, so it may not be safe for him to return . As much as he's missed, Captain Lee shouldn't return to Below Deck .

Below Deck airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
