Danny hates the holiday season, being something of a scrooge, but will he change his mind once he receives a lesson on Christmas spirit from the Ghost Writer ?

Synopsis [ ]

Snow falls in Amity Park as Christmas approaches. Everyone is Christmas-shopping at Amity Park Mall , including the trio of friends. While Sam is in a chipper mood, Danny is annoyed.

When she calls him out on his scrooge-like attitude, Tucker tells her about the fight : Every Christmas, Maddie and Jack argue over the existence of Santa Claus, wreaking all sorts of havoc in Danny's life. Even as they're talking, they hear Maddie telling nearby children visiting the mall that Santa does not exist while Jack states otherwise.

Frustrated, Danny flies to the Ghost Zone , destroying Christmas items to reduce stress. At the same time, the Ghost Writer has completed his Christmas poem, The Fright Before Christmas . Danny accidentally destroys the poem, but does not feel too bad due to his hatred of the holiday.

Enraged at his behavior, the Ghost Writer writes a new book, The Fright Before Christmas 2 , starring Danny, and blasts him back to Amity Park, where he is now stuck in a rhyming induced Christmas story where anything Ghost Writer writes comes true until Danny's lesson is learned.

Wanting to know why Danny hates Christmas so much, Sam's question is answered when Tucker relates the story that every single Christmas, Danny's parents' argument over the existence of Santa usually ends with Danny getting the short end of the stick, leading to traumatic childhood memories.

The Ghost Writer then turns all the reindeer at the mall into ghosts, leaving Danny to fight them off, destroying most of the mall in the process and causing everyone to blame him.

At home, the situation is not any better, as his parents still argue, causing him to finally explode in frustration and leave the house. As he turns ghost and begrudgingly flies away, presents float up and away from the neighboring homes and trail behind him, angering everyone further, including his family and friends. To further cause trouble, the Ghost Writer brings all the toys to life. They all join together to form into a giant nutcracker toy. Danny blows it to pieces, but also destroys all the toys, which upsets everyone once again.

The Ghost Writer adds further insult to injury by bringing all the Christmas trees to life and turning them into monsters as well, surrounding Danny. As he handles the monsters, the news reports of the mutant trees cause Jack to put up the Ghost Shield and Maddie to stop squabbling with her husband long enough to go out and save her son. Danny destroys the trees with his Ghostly Wail before turning human in time for his mother to come and claim him, both returning home.

He enters the Ghost Zone to confront the Ghost Writer at his home afterwards, but he types it so that Danny ends up in another place, one holding his ghostly foes.

However, instead of a battle, the ghosts hold an "annual truce" according to which they do not fight on Christmas, instead befriending each other for the day.

The Ghost Writer expects them to suspend the truce in order to attack Danny, but they do not, regarding the truce as equally applicable to half-ghosts. When Danny explains that the Ghost Writer broke the truce, all the ghosts set out to attack him.

The Ghost Writer, however, quickly writes away the truce, causing all the ghosts to battle one another instead.

Danny then takes an orange to Walker's face, but since nothing rhymes with "orange," the writing spell wears off for the time being and the ghosts commence attack on the Ghost Writer. Danny destroys his keyboard and the Ghost Writer is arrested by Walker and his guards, but Danny's still stuck in the poem and now he is forced to guide the story himself. While he is being driven to jail, the Ghost Writer tells Danny that the poem is still not done until his lesson is learned.

Danny sadly leaves the Ghost Zone, without saying a word, and returns to the now depressing human world, as he recites the story in his mind. He sits down, ashamed and in sorrow - when his friends come to comfort him. There, he expresses his guilt over ruining Christmas, his speech causing all the presents to be fixed.

Wanting to make things right, Danny and his friends, as well as his ghostly foes, all help return the gifts, Christmas trees, and other holiday items back to their rightful homes, restoring Christmas once and for all.

The ghosts agree to help Danny.

Danny bids the ghosts a fond farewell afterwards and leaves for his own house where he apologizes for acting in spite, seeing the family celebrates Christmas their own way.

Then all his ghostly enemies fly off via sleigh pulled by the ghost reindeer to which Jack and Maddie give chase, the latter finally believing in Santa Claus, and Danny learns his lesson: "Everyone celebrates in the way of their choosing".

Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are then confused by Danny who realizes they are no longer talking in rhyme. The story ends with the Ghost Writer in jail, with his now-complete book (and teased by Walker about his fear of oranges).

Synopsis [ ]

Snow falls in Amity Park as Christmas approaches, and everyone is Christmas shopping at Amity Park Mall, including the trio of friends. While Sam is in a chipper mood, Danny is grumpy and annoyed. When she calls him out on his Scrooge -like attitude, Tucker tells her about "the fight": every Christmas, Maddie and Jack argue over the existence of Santa Claus , wreaking all sorts of havoc in Danny's life, which always led to traumatic childhood memories in his youth. Even as they are talking, they hear Maddie telling nearby children visiting the mall that Santa does not exist while Jack states otherwise.

Danny meets the Ghostwriter

Danny makes the mistake of incurring the Ghost Writer's wrath.

Frustrated, Danny flies to the Ghost Zone , destroying Christmas items to reduce stress. At the same time, the Ghost Writer has completed his Christmas poem, The Fright Before Christmas . Danny accidentally destroys the the Ghost Writer's manuscript, but he does not feel so bad about this due to his hatred of the holiday. Enraged at his behavior, Ghost Writer blasts him back to Amity Park, where he is now stuck in a rhyming-induced Christmas story, titled The Fright Before Christmas 2 , in which anything that the Ghost Writer writes comes true until Danny's lesson is learned.

The Ghost Writer then turns all the reindeer at the mall into ghosts, leaving Danny to fight them off, destroying most of the mall in the process and causing everyone to blame him. At home, things are not any better as his parents still argue, causing him to finally explode at them and leave the house. As he turns ghost and begrudgingly flies away, presents float and trail behind him from the neighboring homes, angering everyone further, including his family and friends. Danny tries to escape to Sam's house, but finds that even her family's Hanukkah gifts were stolen, and the Ghost Writer then tricks Sam into believing Danny's the thief, causing the two friends to argue.

Danny battling evil trees

Danny battling the trees after the Ghost Writer brings them to life.

To further cause trouble, the Ghost Writer then brings all the toys to life. They all join together to form into a giant nutcracker toy. Danny blows it to pieces, but also destroys all the toys, which upsets everyone once again. Ghost Writer adds further insult to injury by bringing all the Christmas trees to life and turning them into monsters as well, surrounding Danny.

Danny and his enemies join forces

Danny and his enemies join forces against the Ghost Writer.

Danny enters the Ghost Zone to confront Ghost Writer at his home afterwards, but he types it so that Danny ends up in another place, one holding his ghostly foes. However, instead of a battle, the ghosts hold an "annual truce" where they do not fight on Christmas, instead befriending each other for the day. The Ghost Writer expects them to suspend the truce in order to attack Danny, but they do not, regarding the truce as equally applicable to half-ghosts. When Danny explains that Ghost Writer broke the truce, all the ghosts set out to attack him. The Ghost Writer, however, quickly writes away the truce, causing all the ghosts to battle one another instead. Danny then takes an orange to Walker's face, and since the Ghost Writer can't think of anything that rhymes with "orange", his spell wears off for the time being and the ghosts commence attack on him. Danny destroys his Quantum Keyboard and Ghost Writer is arrested by Walker and his cops, but to Danny's horror, he finds he is still stuck in the poem, because since the keyboard is destroyed, Ghost Writer cannot write "The End", so Danny controls the story now, and it cannot end until he learns his lesson.

DannyHelpKidPutStarOnTree

Danny helps a kid put the star on his tree.

Danny sadly leaves the Ghost Zone, without saying a word, and returns to the now depressing human world. Danny bids the ghosts a fond farewell afterwards and leaves for his own house where he apologizes for acting in spite, seeing the family celebrates Christmas their own way. Then all his ghostly enemies fly off via sleigh pulled by the ghost reindeer, to which Jack and Maddie (the latter finally believing in Santa Claus) give chase, believing them to be the ghosts that were causing all the problems earlier. Watching his parents chase after the ghosts, Danny reflects on his lesson and, after Tucker, Sam, and Jazz question why he's talking in rhyme, joyfully realizes the spell has finally been broken. The episode ends with Ghost Writer in jail, now finished with his new book (and teased by Walker by being given an orange).

Edit locked.

  • Anvilicious : Danny lectures the Ghost Writer (and the audience) that just because you've had rotten Christmases in the past doesn't give you the right to be a jerk during the holidays, especially to people who love them.
  • Draco in Leather Pants : According to fans, the Ghost Writer is one Hot Librarian . Downplayed, since he wasn't evil, just overzealous in trying to teach Danny a lesson.
  • Evil Is Cool : Ghost Writer, although he wasn't so much a villain as he was excessive in teaching Danny a lesson about being a jerk on Christmas.
  • Magnificent Bastard : The Ghost Writer is a wisecracking ghost who decides to teach Danny a lesson about how ruining Christmas for others is wrong after Danny destroys his prized poem and mocks him for it. In order to do this, the Ghost Writer traps Danny in a world where everything rhymes. Using his powers to summon and control monsters such as ghost reindeer and living Christmas tree monsters, the Ghost Writer cleverly sets about framing Danny for the destruction of the town and holiday he caused to make him into an outcast in order to show him how ruining the holiday for others feels. When Danny returns to the Ghost Zone to defeat him, he summons all of Danny's Rogues Gallery to aid him and when they side with Danny against him due to a Christmas truce, has them mind-controlled into fighting each other. Even though he's defeated, the Ghost Writer is still able to teach Danny his lesson and ends the episode being proud of him.
  • Strawman Has a Point : Sure, Danny needed to learn his lesson about not ruining the holiday for everyone and let go of how crappy his past Christmases were, but he wasn't exactly wrong to be upset given his parents arguing the existence of Santa, to the point of not even noticing when they put their son in danger. If anything, someone should have taught them that arguing over the existence of Santa Claus should not be more important than making their family happy.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic : Sure, Danny admits that he shouldn't cause The Chain of Harm by following in his parents' footsteps, but he is a kid. The Fentons are adults, who are responsible for their own actions. Danny even sees them harassing a Mall Santa and telling a group of children to their face that Santa is or isn't real. Sure, that's quality parenting of the year. What does it say that Danny's worst enemies end up being more sensible by cleaning up the damage while reassuring Danny that it will be back to business come next sunset?
  • The Woobie : He may be a jerk most of the time, especially to Danny, but it's genuinely rather sad that Mr. Lancer is so alone he has to give presents to himself for Christmas. Luckily, getting them back at the end with everyone else brings a smile to his face .

"Danny Fenton hates Christmas, he hates it a lot. Which is why I've inserted the boy in this plot. He'll go through this tale till the story is ending..." Ghost Writer said, Danny soon grumbling "But you can't make me rhyme." "Hope your New Year is splendid," Sam soon started shouting. Danny facepalms, glaring up at the ghost. "You would be quite surprised with what I can and can't do. But I'll leave you your freedom so that I can teach you. When you lash out at others there's enmity earned. You're stuck in this poem till your lesson is learned." The Ghost Writer said with a boast. Danny let out a sigh of annoyance when his friend Tucker appeared.

"Who you talking to Danny?" Said Tucker, confused. "Some annoying Ghost Writer, we're all being used! I blew up his story-" "No hint of remorse!" Ghost Writer soon interrupted, earning a glare. "Now he's writing a new one, we're trapped in by force!" Danny shouted as his friends, who were completely unaware. "But Tucker, Sam, and (y/n), shrugged in confusion. Completely convinced of my ghostly illusion." Danny scrunched his eyebrows in anger, marching ahead of those he held dear. "Has he always been moody and glum in December?" I ask my confusion still clear.

"A big whiney scrooge as long as I can remember. His very first Christmas when he was a baby, a bad first impression. No, if, but, or maybe. His parents debated on Santa's existence. Forgetting their son might have need assistance. Caught up in their rift of that jolly old fellow. They didn't see Danny's white Christmas turn yellow. And the one four years later was clearly no inner. Still arguing Santa, they spoiled Christmas dinner."

"By spoiled I should say, brought the turkey to life. Swearing blood and revenge with a fork and a knife." Suddenly across the way was heard, his parents arguing again. "I've said it before and I'll say it again. A sled cannot travel the globe at mock ten!" Maddie said with a shout, point soon getting across when..." But Jack Fenton bellowed:" "You're wrong! Wrong you hear!" "And never once thought he'd be spooking the deer. And just because this would annoy him the most I decided to make every reindeer a ghost," Ghost Writer said looking at the deer, who were all rattled.

One by one they flew up and turned green looking embattled. One let out a roar, as loud as it could. We watched on in horror as the reindeer ran, the situation not looking good. " On Spooky! On Spector! On Deathhoof! On Thrasher! On Maimer! On Vicious blood antlers! On Slasher!"

Ghost Writer exclaimed, naming the reindeer with a deadly name. "Going Ghost!" "He and his partner gave their signature cry and into the fray. Danny Phantom and (s/n) did fly. Confronting the reindeer with powers quite ghostly, protecting the last-minute shoppers...Well mostly." Ghost Writer said, typing the chase turning Lancer's cheese log into a cheesy flame.

Grabbing some Christmas tree lights, the two made a lasso to tame. The lassos did fly, soaring across the sky soon hitting the reindeer with impeccable aim. A 'joyride' we soon took as we flew through the mall hitting some poor carolers that were near. We smashed through a stand letting go of the deer. "Then the reindeer escaped having torn up the mall. Leaving Danny, yes Danny the blame for it all."

The Ghost Writer typed soon directing all the anger to said boy. "But Danny's grim yuletide was only beginning. When later that night as his patience was thinning." "See? A fat man can fit down the chimney! Here's proof!" Jack soon cried out, meanwhile, Jazz was shaking her present with joy.

"That still won't explain how he gets on the roof!" The two argued back in forth, (y/n)'s parents shaking their heads. "And young Fenton just sat there steaming and fuming. His blood pressure rising, his anger consuming." Danny soon heard and looked out to see the face that was turning his patience to shreds. "I won't keep this up-" "Danny said to the writer..." "There's no poem if I'm silent." "Can't you make Dad not fight her?" Jazz soon asked. "AGH!"

" You think this is over? It's barely begun. This all doesn't end till the lesson is done." "And you think that I'll learn it? You think your that tuff?" Danny soon sassed. "He exists!" "No, he doesn't!" His parents continuing to fight, the writer then saying "Then Dan screamed:" "Enough! I'm sick of your fighting can you please let this die?!
