The GPYC is a members only club that offers an outlet for sailors, boaters and other water enthusiasts. If you're not a member, you need to know a member to get into the club, but that shouldn't dissuade you on how friendly the people there are. If you want to be a member, there are pre-requisites, such as proximity to the club and knowing someone who is already a member (sponsor). With membership, you have access to the club as well as the private boat launch/ramp. Inside the club, you'll find a magnificent bar, staffed with some phenomenal people, as well as a full service kitchen. The views from the bar of the barnegat bay and Toms River are soecatcular, by far some of the best in the area. The food is good and the drinks are plentiful....it's a great spot in the area. They also care about the community, with sponsorships for a lot of local organizations as well as the police department. This club is a great place for the community and it's members are some of the nicest people on the Toms River!

Welcome to the Gilford Yacht Club! Here you will find information to help you as a new owner.
Here are some things to keep in mind.
- As a new owner, you are required to make a one time contribution to our Capital reserve fund. The amount of this contribution is 25% of the current annual assessment, made payable to “Gilford Yacht Club”. Please contact (or have your closing agent contact) the GYC Board of Directors to ensure that all assessments and fees owed by the previous owner have been paid, or you , as the new owner, will be liable for any previous assessments and fees owed after closing.
- You are required to have liability insurance on your boat/watercraft with a minimum of $250,000. Please consult with your insurance company to see if they recommend more for liability and comprehensive insurance. Please supply the Board Of Directors with insurance binder.
- If you rent your slip out, YOU are responsible for making sure the renters know the rules at the club , and also carry insurance for their boat/watercraft. Please supply the Board Of Directors with insurance binder.

The weather may be turning a bit chilly, but for boaters seeking a taste of fall striped bass season, a new boat ramp will be open soon , officials said.
The new ramp will be located across from the Gilford Park Yacht Club in a space that was formerly used as a baseball diamond. The ramp will provide access to Dillon’s Creek, which empties into the Toms River and ultimately Barnegat Bay.
| “Unfortunately, this project is a little behind schedule,” said Township Engineer Robert Chankalian. “The contractor is not hitting his deadline, but most of the work has been completed.” Converting a long unused township park — once a baseball diamond, now overgrown and with cracked asphalt — off Garfield Avenue into the boat ramp will allow boats up to 35-feet access to the creek that divides Toms River with Island Heights, said Chankalian. Chankalian said the public boat ramp would accommodate powerboats and sailboats as well as kayaks and canoes, and would likely be unstaffed and not have any cost for a user to access it. The project cost about $1 million. “Right now, you can see the docking, decking and elevated walkway is complete,” said Chankalian at a township council meeting this week. “The only thing left is paving the parking lot and [installing] the light poles.” A new boat ramp, dock, decking and parking spaces for oversized vehicles (big enough for trucks and SUVs with boat trailers attached) have been installed. The project received approval, however, largely based on the fact that the yacht club’s opposition was economic in nature rather than an environmental concern.
