The high-profile arrest of former Trump advisor Steve Bannon took place Thursday aboard a superyacht owned by a Chinese entrepreneur wanted in Beijing. The 151-foot Lady May , owned by Guo Wengui, was boarded by the U.S. Coast Guard, special agents from the United States attorney’s office in Manhattan and federal postal inspectors around 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

Hours later, Bannon pleaded not guilty to charges that he and others had siphoned millions of dollars from an online fundraising effort called “We Build the Wall,” a private group whose stated goal was to raise money for a U.S. border wall with Mexico. Bannon was accused of taking about $1 million for personal expenses. He was later released on $5 million bail.

Vacationers noticed the superyacht anchored offshore in Westbrook, Connecticut. Yesterday afternoon, many binoculars were in evidence on the beach, scoping out Lady May , which later departed for Manhattan. “I never saw such a big boat,” Catherine Bue-Hepner told the local newspaper, The Day . “When the owner of the cottage came by, he said it was Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. You figured it had to be somebody big.”

Instead, it was Wengui and Bannon. Wengui, an exiled Chinese billionaire , has business ties to Bannon. He was not arrested yesterday, but there are warrants out for his arrest in Beijing, where authorities have accused Wengui of crimes including bribery, kidnapping, money laundering, fraud and rape. He fled to the U.S. in late 2014 and lives in self-imposed exile in Manhattan. He is also a member of President Trump’s Mar-A-Lago club in Florida.

Feadship launched Lady May  in the Netherlands in 2014. Originally named Como , the yacht was built for New Zealander Neville Crichton. Robb Report reported at the time that the yacht was different from others on the market because its main deck was wrapped in a continuous sheet of glass. “This design creates the illusion that the entire superstructure is supported by glass and provides largely uninterrupted views from the yacht’s salon and forward owner’s suite,” we wrote.

Lady May is currently on sale for $27.9 million .  It won a number of design awards in 2015 after it was launched.

The Bannon arrest was made by officials from the U.S. Postal Service, with transport provided by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Accused fraudster and former White House strategist Steve Bannon was aboard a $28 million yacht owned by a Chinese billionaire when he was arrested on fraud charges Thursday morning, according to reports.

The 150-foot mega vessel was in the Long Island Sound near Westbrook, Connecticut, when President Trump’s former strategist was picked up by US Postal Service inspectors, the Hartford Courant reported.

The boat, the Lady May, is owned by Guo Wengui, one of China’s most wanted fugitives , who is wanted in Beijing on fraud, blackmail and bribery charges, according to the Washington Post.

The 2014 yacht was listed for sale in an April post that boasted about its luxe amenities , like a fully stocked bar in the main lounge, a white marble and bleached oak interior and five staterooms. The meticulously kept vessel, which has a max speed of 19 knots (22 mph) and cruising speed of 14 knots (16 mph), can carry up to 10 guests and a crew of eight.

It remained off West Beach in Westbrook following Bannon’s arrest on charges he pocketed donations from the $25 million “We Build the Wall” fundraiser for the US-Mexico border wall.

A photo tweeted by a Fox 61 reporter appeared to show Bannon on Wednesday night aboard the yacht wearing a white shirt and khakis.

Bannon, 66, served as a top adviser to Trump’s presidential campaign and later served as White House chief strategist. He was fired by the president in August 2017.

Feadship's 46-metre 'Lady May' Enters Market

Feadship's 46.22-metre Lady May has officially entered the market. After undergoing an extensive refit and repaint in 2019, she is now for sale and in perfect condition for her future owner.

Delivered in 2014 from Feadship 's Aalsmeer shipyard, Lady May features an aluminium hull and superstructure, with naval architecture and exterior design penned by Dubois.

Previously named 'Como', she has since had a comprehensive makeover, featuring elegant, wraparound glass and a recessed wheelhouse to create a sleek, streamlined exterior profile.

She can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 staterooms, and house up to 8 crew members. Her master suite can be found on the Main Deck, with panoramic, uninterrupted views of the ocean. All remaining cabins can be located on the Lower Deck.

With a modern, stylish interior designed by RWD, she has a number of unique elements that define her inner spaces, including a stunning crystal chandelier and a rotating floor in the Main Saloon, as well as expansive mirrors expertly placed throughout, creating the illusion of a much more generous space, encompassed by dancing rays of light from fixtures above.

Her exterior spaces boast a bar which transcends from within the Main Lounge, along with an al fresco dining space on the aft deck for relaxing dinners, cocktails or entertainment. 

In terms of performance, Lady May has a cruising speed of 15 knots and a top speed of 19 knots.

Bannon likely won't be reboarding the Lady May or any other yachts any time soon. A condition of his $5 million bond is that he can't travel on private planes or yachts without the court's permission.

On Thursday morning, federal agents arrested Steve Bannon off the coast of Connecticut on a 150-foot yacht named “Lady May,” charging him with defrauding hundreds of thousands of people who donated more than $25 million to fund a private wall along the US-Mexico border. 

Lady May has been touted has one of the world’s most sophisticated  superyachts and is currently on sale for $27.9 million . The  Wall Street Journal  reported on Wednesday that it belongs to Guo Wengui, an exiled Chinese businessman.

A listing from Moran Yacht & Ship calls Lady May “innovative in every sense of the word” and boasts that it won “a succession of Superyacht awards in 2015.” Boat International reported in 2015 that Neville Crichton, a businessman and yacht racer originally from New Zealand, conceived of Lady May as a slightly bigger version of another yacht named Como. But, Crichton said, “it was the height of the global financial crisis and even though Australia came through that pretty well, I just wasn’t excited.” A year later, Dubois Naval Architects came up with a new design that was more than just a stretched-out Como .  That yacht, Lady May, now belongs to Guo.

Bannon has worked for Guo, who sometimes goes by the name Miles Kwok, since shortly after his ouster from the White House three years ago. Guo, a reported billionaire, is one of China’s most-wanted fugitives. Chinese authorities have charged him with bribery, fraud, and money laundering—similar to the fraud and money laundering charges Bannon now faces. He denies the allegations, saying they result from his criticism of the Chinese government.

Guo has helped bankrolled Bannon’s efforts to attack China and paid Bannon $1 million for work between 2018 and 2019, Axios reported last year. But those efforts are reportedly the subject of an investigation, separate from probe that resulted in Bannon’s indictment. The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that the FBI, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the New York state attorney general’s office are investigating whether a media company formed by Bannon and Guo, GTV Media, violated securities laws and bilked investors.

Delivered to a proud yacht owner in 2014, this luxury yacht sleeps up to 11 guests in 5 staterooms and has accommodations for 8 crew. She has a beam of 29.5ft / 9m, a draft of 7.2ft / 2.2m, and she measures in at 390 gross tons. Her hull is aluminum and her decks are teak. Her max speed is 19 knots and cruising speed is 15 knots. She is propelled by Caterpillar engines at 1,900 hp each. Her interior design is by Redman Whiteley Dixon with exterior styling by Dubios Naval Architects .

Oceanco's 62m superyacht SEA WALK finds new owner and renamed LADY MAJA I

The 62m (204ft) Oceanco superyacht previously named SEA WALK has found a new owner and has been rechristened as LADY MAJA I. Spending much of her time on Croatia and Ibiza yacht charters , she offers boundless amenities for action-packed or relaxed Mediterranean vacations .

Boasting an exterior design and naval architecture by the in-house team at Oceanco, superyacht LADY MAJA I  also features collaborative interiors crafted by Zuretti Interior Design. Offering lavish accommodations for up to 12 charter guests in six well-appointed cabins, she is the ideal model for a  luxury yacht charter .

Outdoor amenities are nothing short of impressive, with an on-deck Jacuzzi, a fully kitted gym, and an expansive alfresco dining area on the sundeck. She provides ample relaxation spaces, including large sofas and sun pads, ideal for enjoying the sea views, plus outdoor lounge areas that evoke the tranquility of a seaside retreat.

Taking adventures beyond the decks, motor yacht LADY MAJA I holds a great selection of water toys including two Yamaha GP800r WaveRunners, two wakeboards, kayaks, waterskis, and paddleboards.

Due to her size, LADY MAJA I can dedicate an entire deck to the master suite without compromising on space.

Crafted and delivered in 2005, the interiors of this exquisite motor yacht feature a spacious main salon that includes a stylish lounge space and an elegant formal dining area. Enveloped by large windows that flood the interior with natural light, guests can enjoy the openness of the main deck or head to the opulent cabins, which are adorned with sleek glossy wall paneling, ambient overhead lighting, and sumptuous fabrics. The 5th edition of the International exhibition of yachts and boats –  Moscow Boat Show , held from March 20 to 25, 2012 will be hosted by the first pavilion of Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. This popular show is dedicated not only to the specialists of the market segment and professional sportsmen but also to those who consider sailing sport to be their hobby and well cherished dream.

The project is the result of joint efforts of the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre and the National Marine Industry Association. The event is supported by Aston Martin Moscow, Burevestnik Group logistics department and the Yachting specialized magazine. Moscow Boat Show is the largest project in Russia presenting all the best in the world of yachting.

The exhibition annually shows high level of attendance and has already proved as significant and noteworthy event in the world of yachts and boats. Every year new exhibitors join the list of participants, genuine “sharks” of yachting business, the quantity of visitors considerably increases and the exposition becomes more sated and diverse.

The best companies professionally involved into yachting and small navigation business – 180 exhibitors from 17 regions of the Russian Federation and 15 countries traditionally presented the best and the newest in the world of yachting at 2011 edition: from design and facilitation of vessels and up to cruising and training courses for beginning skippers. In 2011 the overall exhibit space comprised 18 000 sq m. More than 25 000 visitors came to the show.

This year the exposition space will increase up to 30 000 sq m and will be accommodated in 4 exhibition halls. The scale of the project confirms confident positions of its positive development. The organizers will try to arrange a genuine fiesta of water on land!

Quite a number of foreign exhibitors will participate in the show. Foreign companies show increasing interest to yachting business in Russia.

Moscow Boat Show provides the perfect platform from which to preview new products, evaluate market trends, and establish long-lasting and commercially profitable partnerships. Despite the dynamic changes taking place in Russia and the rapid growth of the yachting sector, the show continues to complement and reflect the industry’s demand and is a promotional opportunity not to be missed!

As its popularity and success rate has grown over the last years Moscow Boat Show 2012 has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events serve to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allow all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential.

Moscow Boat Show helps representatives of yachting business to get acquainted with their Russian colleagues and gradually improves national yachting market to a new level. It is obvious that for 4 years of its running the project has turned to a status event of the international exhibitions calendar. The organizers of the exhibition aim to bring together on the same platform all key national and worldwide players and to offer an excellent platform to encourage networking among specialists and visitors in order to accelerate the development in this field as well as implementing new technologies, the newest equipment, materials and components.
