Tips for Designing Your New Home
When you want to design and build your own dream home, you have an opportunity to make your dreams become a reality. Designing your new home can be a major project, but the benefits will make all the work worthwhile.
Choose Your Style
The exciting thing about designing your own home is your chance to create precisely the layout you want to fit your needs. Whether you prefer something more rustic or elegant, you can design precisely the house style you want.
Peruse log home plans with prices and luxury mansion home plans to learn about your options. Make note about features you want, floor plans that will fit your lifestyle, any restrictions, number of rooms, structural features and more. All of these details will come into play as you design your home.
Set a Budget
You’ll also need to set a budget for the project so you know your limitations. Your budget will determine the type of team you can hire and how much work you’ll need to complete yourself. You’ll also need your property where you’ll build, which will be determined by your overall budget as well. Make sure the property you choose is suitable for your building plans regarding size of lot, slope, direction, trees and access to resources.
Your budget also has to cover taxes, fees, landscaping, interior decorating and a contingency budget for unexpected expenses.
Home Plans and Prices to Build
Some people opt to start with a pre-drawn plan instead of hiring a team to create a custom home. Pre-drawn home plans can be cost effective, and you’ll have many features and options as you narrow down your selection of a home plan. You can choose the total number of square feet, width and depth of the house, number of stories, number of bedrooms and number of bathrooms. You can also choose the style, whether it’s a cottage, a craftsman’s bungalow, a log cabin or a farmhouse.
A Custom Home Team
If you decide on a custom home, you’ll need a team to work on the project. The team will include an architect, a general contractor and additional subcontractors.
The architect will consult with you to learn all your big and little desires. Don’t leave out any details as you share your dreams so the architect can make it happen. This is your chance to get a kitchen bathed in morning sunlight, high ceilings and all the walk-in closets you could want.
Tips and Hints
The architect is tasked with the job of illustrating your dreams, and the general contractor is the person who makes them a reality. Often, architects and general contractors exist in overlapping industries, so you may find two individuals who are already acquainted professionally.
Optimally, you can hand over the day-to-day management of the building phase to the general contractor, who manages permits, insurance, schedules, subcontractors, finishing work, inspections, clean-up, landscaping and more.

This product is not needed for PL350 Compatability with Safariland holsters, but can aid in draw smoothness, and offers other improvements listed below.
Introducing the Portal X collaboration between Ghostmen Designs and Modlite. Designed to maintain the same benefits of the original Portal , but with a few updates to allow for an even wider range of compatibility with Safariland holsters. Entended in length and refined in fitment, the Portal X offers additional protection to those who have a Safariland holster that accepts PL350 but has the light head protruding out the bottom after removing the OEM light plug.
After seeing many agencies remove the light plug to allow debris to fall through, Ghostmen Designs realized that doing such resulted in zero protection for the weapon light, and weakened the structural integrity of the holster.
Machined from T6 6061 Aluminum Mil-Spec anodized Made in the USA
