‘Ghost Doctor’ Star Kim Bum Delivers Heartfelt Message to Fans Ahead of Drama’s Finale

Kim Bum gave fans a special message ahead of the "Ghost Doctor" finale.

As the medical-fantasy K-drama reached its final week, the South Korean heartthrob expressed his deep gratitude towards the fans and viewers.

Kim Bum Sends Heartfelt Message to Fans and Viewers of 'Ghost Doctor'

Kim Bum

Through Kim Bum's agency, King Kong by Starship, the 32-year-old actor introduced himself and his role in "Ghost Doctor."

In the tvN series, he took on the role of Ko Seung Tak, the first-year medical intern and the heir of Eunsang University Medical Center, where Cha Young Min, played by Rain, plays as the skilled thoracic surgeon.

Ghost Doctor Kim Bum

As the message continues, he noted how he has been receiving love and good energy since the medical fantasy Kdrama began; all thanks for the support from fans.

Moreover, recalling how he spent a lot of time in the hospital during the production, Kim Bum dishes out that the scenes filmed in the operating room were the most memorable ones.

The actor talks about how Cha Young Min possessed Ko Seung Tak's body in order to perform complicated surgeries to save the patient's life.

Lastly, wrapping up his special message, Kim Bum also thanked the team behind "Ghost Doctor."

He expressed his "gratitude to the director, writer, all actors, staff, and advisors who worked together to make these scenes."

Most importantly, the actor once again thanked the viewers "for the support, and I will greet you with a new image," he said.

The fantasy medical Kdrama was his first project this 2022. "Ghost Doctor" is also the series after his Kdrama "Law School" alongside Kim Myung Min and Ryu Hye Young.

To recall, Kim Bum took on the role of Han Joon Hwi, the first-year law student who is at the top of his class.

Rain and Kim Bum's Bromance in 'Ghost Doctor' Gains Praises from Viewers

As the plot progresses in "Ghost Doctor," the viewers witness the chemistry of Kim Bum and Rain through their unique bromance.

Unlike other Kdramas featuring two male leads, they usually start off on good terms or even know each other from their childhood; however, in the medical fantasy series, their character featured a love and hate relationship from start to finish.

Despite their different perception of life and work ethics, they managed to reach their goal-and that is to save lives.

Ghost Doctor

At the press conference, ahead of "Ghost Doctor" debut, director Boo Sung Cheol shared what he really thinks of the two main stars.

He says how Rain and Kim Bum "matched really well," noting that if the singer-actor "is the engine, then Kim Bum is the headlights."

Apart from the two male leads, the "Ghost Doctor" cast also includes Uee, who took on the role of Dr. Jang Se Jin, while APINK's Son Naeun plays ER doctor Oh Soo Jung. Veteran actor Sung Dong-Il also portrayed a significant character in "Ghost Doctor."

Meanwhile, "Ghost Doctor" episode 16 will air on February 22 via tvN.

Soompi & Viki Staff Talk: What Is Your Favorite K-Drama Bromance?

Welcome back to a new edition of the “Soompi & Viki Staff Talk”! This time, some of our staff members discuss our favorite K-drama bromances.

Here are our staff’s faves!

Warning: minor spoilers ahead

Somni: Lee Hwa Shin & Go Jung Won (“ Don’t Dare to Dream ”)

ghost doctor bromance

The legendary rom-com “Don’t Dare to Dream” (also known as “Jealousy Incarnate”) received lots of love and attention not only because of the chemistry between Jo Jung Suk and Gong Hyo Jin but also that of Jo Jung Suk and Go Kyung Pyo . Their bromance is my favorite in any K-drama by far! Although Lee Hwa Shin (Jo Jung Suk), Pyo Na Ri ( Gong Hyo Jin ), and Go Jung Won (Go Kyung Pyo) are entangled in a love triangle, due to the tight-knit friendship between Hwa Shin and Jung Won who can’t avoid each other, they create unprecedented comic scenes that are full of laughter and happy tears. I still remember the epic scene in which Hwa Shin and Jung Won fiercely fight each other over Na Ri in a mudflat while Na Ri is deeply immersed in clam digging and has no idea what is happening behind her. After going through the turbulent phases of love and hate, Hwa Shin and Jung Won open up their true feelings and make up to root for each other’s happiness.

Watch “Don’t Dare to Dream” below:

Yeon: Kim Sung Ryong & Seo Yul (“ Good Manager ”)

ghost doctor bromance

My favorite K-drama bromance to this day would have to be the hilarious duo of Kim Sung Ryong ( Namgoong Min ) and Seo Yul ( Lee Junho ) in “Good Manager.” Working together at the same company, they never seem to get along with their completely opposite personalities and Seo Yul constantly being annoyed by Sung Ryong’s antics. However, their constant bickering eventually leads to an unexpected partnership and strong teamwork. Their love-hate relationship and amusing chemistry led to the actors even winning Best Couple at the 2017 KBS Drama Awards! What better proof of a great bromance?

Watch “Good Manager” below:

Sehee: Park In Sung & Kim Sun Joo (“ Unlock My Boss ”)

ghost doctor bromance

The bromance in “Unlock My Boss” is quite different compared to what you would see in most other K-dramas. “Unlock My Boss” is a unique comedy thriller about Park In Sung ( Chae Jong Hyeop ), an unemployed job-seeker whose life changes after he picks up a smartphone that traps the soul of Kim Sun Joo ( Park Sung Woong ), the CEO of the big IT corporation Silver Lining. The bromance between the two characters is made special as they work together and achieve great teamwork through their differences in class and background, solving mysteries and running a company together.

Watch “Unlock My Boss” below:

Natalie: Kim Shin & Grim Reaper (“ Guardian: The Lonely and Great God ”)

ghost doctor bromance

There’s more to life than just Cinderella and Prince Charming, right? Life’s also about a lost goblin and a cold-hearted grim reaper who form a beautiful friendship…right? Whether you agree or not, you can’t deny that “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (also known as “Goblin”) has the absolute best bromance duo, with the Goblin Kim Shin ( Gong Yoo ) and the Grim Reaper ( Lee Dong Wook ) showing off their insane chemistry that just flows out of the screen. The pair grows a distaste for one another as they begin cohabiting in Kim Shin’s house but soon develops a delicious love-hate relationship as they spend more time together and realize that they are more similar than they thought. Their quirky banter gives the drama a breeze of fresh air in the midst of its heavy plot. Also, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook have stolen the hearts of many with their visual chemistry. If you don’t believe me, check out episode 2 at 1:15:16. If this doesn’t convince you to binge watch “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,” what will?

Watch “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” below:

Seyeon: Jang Geu Rae & Han Seok Yul (“ Incomplete Life ”)

ghost doctor bromance

My favorite K-drama bromance comes from the hit office drama “Incomplete life” (also known as “Misaeng”), which portrays Korean corporate life in a very realistic way. So-called “unqualified” intern Jang Geu Rae (Im Si Wan) is thrown into the corporate world with zero experience after failing to become a professional Go player. On the other hand, Han Seok Yul ( Byun Yo Han ) comes from a blue collar textile background and has a very friendly personality. The chemistry between these two very different characters provides some comedic relief to the show, keeping the drama from being too dark and making it much more enjoyable.

Watch “Incomplete Life” below:

Ginny: Yoo Shi Jin & Seo Dae Young (“ Descendants of the Sun ”)

ghost doctor bromance

I have to say Song Joong Ki and Jin Goo in “Descendants of the Sun” had the greatest bromance chemistry of all K-drama bromances. Song Joong Ki plays Yoo Shi Jin, the captain of a Korean special forces unit, and Jin Goo plays fellow soldier Seo Dae Young. While they have their own respective romances going on, the two clearly show a solid friendship. Considering that they are in a war zone, they get stuck in unbelievable situations but manage to get out of it using their skills and amazing teamwork. It’s also hilarious to see how Seo Dae Young reacts to Yoo Shi Jin constantly poking fun at him. It’s a must-watch series with unforgettable bromance!

Watch “Descendants of the Sun” below:

Winnie: Lee Young & Kim Byung Yeon (“ Love in the Moonlight ”)

ghost doctor bromance

Park Bo Gum and Kwak Dong Yeon played the roles of close friends in “Love in the Moonlight.” In the historical drama, palace guard Kim Byung Yeon (Kwak Dong Yeon) shows complete loyalty for Crown Prince Lee Young (Park Bo Gum), even making a major sacrifice to protect him, leading to a very emotional scene that stole my tears (and the actors’ tears as well according to interviews). Their bond has also extended beyond the drama, with the actors showing their long-lasting friendship and fun chemistry in the variety show “ Young Actors’ Retreat ” last year!

Watch “Love in the Moonlight” below:

Also watch “Young Actors’ Retreat”:

JJin: Cha Young Min & Go Seung Tak (“ Ghost Doctor ”)

ghost doctor bromance

My favorite K-drama bromance would have to be Rain and Kim Bum in “Ghost Doctor.” Cha Young Min (Rain) is a brilliant surgeon with “golden hands,” but he is also arrogant and selfish. Go Seung Tak (Kim Bum) is a genius when it comes to medical knowledge, but he has a fear of blood. A sudden accident turns Cha Young Min into a “coma ghost,” and his spirit continues to possess Go Seung Tak’s body. Their bromance is filled with lots of fun, sarcasm, and playfulness! It is amusing to see them go from genuinely hating each other to being literal soulmates. Additionally, they grow as individuals by building on each other’s strengths. Another reason to watch this drama is Kim Bum’s portrayal of Cha Young Min’s possession and the mystery surrounding their unanswered backstories!

Watch “Ghost Doctor” below:

Sala: Go Nam Soon & Park Heung Soo (“ School 2013 ”)

ghost doctor bromance

It’s impossible to forget the legendary duo of Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin in “School 2013,” the fifth installment of the famous “School” series. In “School 2013,” Go Nam Soon (Lee Jong Suk) and Park Heung Soo (Kim Woo Bin) struggle to face various school-related issues involving bullying, academics, and friendships. At the start of the drama, Go Nam Soon and Park Heung Soo have a rocky relationship despite having once been close friends in the past. However, it quickly becomes very evident that they still care for each other deeply. Despite Park Heung Soo’s adamant refusal to accept Go Nam Soon back in his life, Go Nam Soon continues to express concern and affection, eventually worming his way back into Park Heung Soo’s life and rekindling their broken friendship. “School 2013” forgoes the typical romance subplot to focus on just the friendships between the students, and the cast’s portrayal really conveyed the raw emotions and tension between the characters. What makes the drama shine even more is the stellar acting and undeniable chemistry between Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin, with their real-life friendship also withstanding the test of time!

Fantasy Medical Drama “Ghost Doctor” Soon Premiering As Your Monday-Tuesday Haven

ghost doctor bromance

With its promising plot and prominent cast, Ghost Doctor will stir up some fantasy-filled fun on your weekdays!

Director Bu Seong-Cheol ( Your Honor , The Heirs , My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox ) and writer Kim Sun-sun ( Live Up To Your Name) collaborated for this upcoming Korean drama. Moreover, the new stills and posters posted recently heightened the expectations of fans all over the globe.

Airing on January 3, 2022, the series will take off as the highlight of Monday-Tuesday K-Drama slot. Not just that but, among all the Korean medical fantasy series, Ghost Doctor is anticipated to be a game-changer.

ghost doctor bromance

Along with the viewers waiting for the premiere, the production staff of the series is in high spirits. The production team gushes about the exciting development of the story.

In particular, they claimed that they are looking forward to the spectacular performance of the main actors; Jung Ji Hoon (Rain) and Kim Bum. Besides that, the writer and director of the upcoming series take pride in the portrayal of the other cast members in their respective characters.

Compelling Feel-Good Narrative

Ghost Doctor is a drama that illustrates the medical world – but with a dash of supernatural and a sprinkle of action. It narrates the story of a brilliant doctor Cha Young-min (Jung Ji Hoon). He is a thoracic surgeon possessing immense medical talent and could save patients with a single touch.

However, contrary to the typical selfless and kind main character, we get an egoistical and conceited male lead whose demeanor and appearance differ from the usual main characters with a superhero complex.

On the other hand, Ko Seung-tak (Kim Bum) is a gutsy privileged resident doctor. Ko Seung-tak is quite a peculiar character. Born in a family of medical practitioners, his vast medical knowledge intimidates professors.

Yet ironically, he often displays a bemused countenance. Despite the contrasting backgrounds of Seung-tak and Young-min, the two characters’ lives get entangled because of a fateful accident.

And although it may be true that the merging of bodies and soul is a timeworn concept, the series promises to deliver a fresh perspective with the twists and turns applied in the plot. In fact, we can expect plenty of new characters we will come to love and relate with.

The Homecoming of Popular Actresses

Idol-turn-actresses Uee and Son Na Eun will return to the small screens. On one hand, Uee will portray Jang Se-jin, an overseas neurosurgeon. Se-jin’s character appears indifferent and stoic. But on the contrary, she has a big compassionate heart. Her character’s tale will draw people’s attention because he and Cha Young-min (Jung Ji-hoon) are former lovers. Hence, the spotlight is on the sentimental romance that the pair will establish.

Ghost Doctor

The production team outlines the pivotal role Uee partakes in Ghost Doctor.

“Uee, who is deeply immersed in the character of ‘Jang Se-jin’, creates a contrasting atmosphere with her deep eyes and bright energy, and is expected to double the charm of the pole and the pole. Please check the charm of Jang Se-jin, who is harsh but more human than anyone else, through ‘Ghost Doctor’.”

Meanwhile, Son Na Eun takes the role of an emergency room intern, Su-jeong Oh. She is a fearless protagonist who dreams of becoming a doctor like her late grandfather, despite her mother’s objections. Furthermore, unlike normal medical students, Su-jeong Oh is a character with a peculiar secret who believes in supernatural events.

ghost doctor bromance

The production team of ‘ Ghost Doctor ‘ commented on having Son Na Eun onboard.

“The courageous and positive energy Son Na-eun will show makes even the viewers feel good. The loveliness that only her has will add to the richness of the play. Please check out ‘Ghost Doctor’ to see Na-eun Son, who is showing ‘Sujeong Oh’ itself with a bouncy charm.”

Well-blended Mixture of Bromance and Humor

Jung Ji-hoon and Kim Bum deliver a comical synergy with their polar opposite charms. Not to mention great on-screen chemistry too. Just looking at the recent stills and posters released for Ghost Doctor,  anyone will surely be enthralled by the appeal of the two actors.

To give a more vivid glimpse regarding the portrayal of the main characters, the production team shared their sentiments. “Cha Young-min and Ko Seung-tak draw a special growth period through ‘Body Rental’. The story of only the two of them is going to give you a different kind of fun you’ve never seen before, so please pay attention. Also, please look forward to the synergy of actors Jung Ji-hoon and Kim Bum , who perfectly assimilated to Cha Young-min and Ko Seung-tak, respectively.”

Ghost Doctor will air on the small screens on the 3rd of January 2022 at 10:30 pm.

Ghost Doctor: Episodes 15-16 Open Thread (Final)

By daebakgrits.

ghost doctor bromance

As we bid farewell to Ghost Doctor , many of our characters find themselves saying their own goodbyes, but not all partings are permanent. Some of them lead to new beginnings and happy endings.   EPISODES 15-16 WEECAP

ghost doctor bromance

Now that Ghost Doctor has ended, I find myself a bit wistful. The final two episodes really delivered this week, giving me a bit of everything I loved and wanted to see more of earlier in the series. I was really harsh on this drama in the middle because it seemingly lost sight of the heart of the story, but the pieces came together in the end. And now I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters — even Se-jin.

She still ranks lower than Mandu on my list of favorite characters, but once she found a reason to smile, Se-jin became quite tolerable. I thought we’d be off to another mopey start with her character this week, given her brother’s orchestrated drive-by head whacking, but Seung-tak (and Young-min) survived the incident with only a minor hand — that’s right, hand not head — injury.

ghost doctor bromance

Se-jin is so giddy that she starts planning to redecorate Young-min’s apartment for their future cohabitation, and — much to Seung-tak and Soo-jung’s annoyance — Young-min keeps borrowing Seung-tak’s body so he can weigh in on his curtain and blanket preferences. A jealous Soo-jung decides it’s time to set some ground rules, and while she hashes out a boyfriend-body-sharing schedule with Se-jin, the men sit back and enjoy some food.

Seung-tak agrees that he needs a little break from being Young-min’s mouthpiece and pretends that he can’t see or hear Young-min. The prank is short-lived, though, because Seung-tak has to use his ghost-whisperer skills to determine why one of the ER’s patients won’t wake up. It’s a teachable moment, and Young-min advises Seung-tak to embrace his sixth sense. As a doctor, seeing his unconscious patients and being able to share their stories on their behalf is a strength, not a weakness.

The peaceful camaraderie before Young-min’s surgery ends when Young-min’s body takes a turn for the worse. The doctors meet to reevaluate their surgical plans and discuss other options, and the consensus is that the originally planned surgery is now too risky and beyond Tae-sik’s skill level to perform. It’s better for them to use a less-invasive bypass surgery. Unfortunately, while Young-min will undoubtedly wake up following the bypass operation, his quality of life will be diminished, and his days as a surgeon will be over.

ghost doctor bromance

Young-min is the only doctor skilled enough to carry out the original surgery, but the probability of him glitching mid-operation is too high. He agrees with the other doctors’ assessment, and the bypass surgery is scheduled. With his days as a coma ghost limited, Young-min resolves to wrap-up some unfinished business before he wakes up and forgets his fellow ghosts.

Young-min finds Hoon-gil standing on the edge of the hospital’s roof and — for a comedic moment — forgets that he is already partially dead. Even so, Young-min talks Hoon-gil down from the ledge like he would someone who was contemplating suicide because Hoon-gil has lost his will to live and wants to cancel his surgery.

It is during their exchange that Young-min admits he failed as a doctor by measuring which lives were worth saving. Young-min’s confession convinces Hoon-gil to go through with the surgery, and it’s a good thing, too, because he discovers that Bo-min’s fiancé is a cheating scumbag. Even better, though, is when a knowing Se-jin convinces Bo-mi to talk to the unconscious Hoon-gil, and Bo-mi shyly encourages him to wake up and fulfill his dreams. My heart!

ghost doctor bromance

Unfortunately not every life can be saved, and Young-min’s heart-to-heart with Guk-chan is more somber. Young-min’s previous conversation with Hoon-gil left him feeling ashamed, but Guk-chan comforts him and assures him that he knows Young-min did everything he could to try and save him. He’s made peace with the fact that he will never wake up, so his final request of Young-min is for his body to be transferred to a nursing home near his family so he can see them more often. His request is granted, and his departure from the hospital is bittersweet as he happily steps across his former hospital boundary.

Young-min’s conversations with his fellow ghosts remind him that, as a doctor, he should take his patients’ wishes into consideration, and it’s time for Young-min to start thinking like a patient — not a doctor. And what he wants is to wake up and still have use of his golden hands. He and Seung-tak both resolve to perform the original surgery together, but Seung-tak is a little uncomfortable with Young-min’s suggestion that they have Tae-hyun assist them. Young-min, however, is confident that Tae-hyun will do the right thing.

ghost doctor bromance

The surgery is tense, but Young-min manages to push through some minor glitching and complete the hardest part of the surgery before he’s ejected from Seung-tak’s body. Seung-tak is prepared to have Tae-hyun take over, but Young-min encourages him to complete the surgery with his own “sh*t hands.” As Young-min begins to fade, he reminds Seung-tak to do a clean job; he’s still unmarried and doesn’t want a scar.

Hoon-gil wakes up from his surgery first, and he’s instantly the hospital hottie. The other ladies don’t stand a chance, though, because Seung-tak eagerly points Bo-mi in his direction, and Hoon-gil catches her cutely peeking around the corner. It’s not much, but just enough for me to believe that my favorite Ghost Doctor couple will eventually get their own happy ending.

ghost doctor bromance

It takes a few more days for Young-min to wake up, but when he does, he coldly rebuffs Seung-tak’s eager handholding. Thankfully, it’s all an act — a little payback for when Seung-tak pretended he couldn’t see Young-min — because I otherwise would have sharpened my pitchfork. You can’t make Young-min go through all that character growth only to have him forget about it in the final hour!

The upside to Young-min’s little fake-out is Seung-tak’s resulting overzealous skinship. He can’t stop touching Young-min every chance he gets, and it’s absolutely adorable. The downside to Young-min’s little ruse, though, is that Young-min also subjected Se-jin to the lie under some misguided idea that he wanted to control the narrative of their romance now that he was awake. I, too, prefer rom-coms to melodramas, Young-min, but you just don’t do that!

ghost doctor bromance

Well, his plan backfired because Se-jin went back to the US after her brother, Tae-hyun, and Seung-won were arrested, and she didn’t even bother to tell Young-min that she was leaving. Seung-tak sagely points out that she probably couldn’t take him being a cold-hearted jerk to her any longer. Young-min begs Seung-tak for her contact information, and Tess watches the two of them fondly, knowing he can leave the hospital in their care.

The idea that Tess would pass the torch on to Young-min and Seung-tak has been hinted at since the beginning, and the drama did well to wrap up his goodbyes, allowing him to have meaningful moments with his daughter and granddaughter before he left. The scene that absolutely wrecked me, though, was watching him bid farewell to Seung-tak in the ER — exactly where they first met twenty years ago and this story really began. When Seung-tak bowed deeply to him — giving zero flicks that he looked like a looney bin in the middle of a crowded room — I teared up.

ghost doctor bromance

But my tears quickly dried because Tess’s parting was followed by Young-min hashing out his poor post-coma choices with Mandu. If only Mandu could talk and call him an idiot for lying to Se-jin on our behalf. Young-min doesn’t have to stew in his abysmal choices for long, though, because Se-jin lets herself into his apartment and inserts herself into his life and future, knowing full well he remembers everything.

It’s a happy ending that closes with some more — highly preferred — bromance between Young-min and Seung-tak. They arrive at work at the same time, and Young-min warns Seung-tak that he will keep him by his side and train him extra hard — so many squats! Seung-tak eagerly follows and bounces on his heels like a puppy, cheekily insisting that Young-min will regret his decision. In their final moments on screen, we see them working in tandem and high-fiving after a successful surgery.

Overall, I’m very pleased with how Ghost Doctor tackled the themes of mentorship and the value of human life, and I absolutely loved the relationship — a rom-com, according to Seung-tak — between our leading men. Most of my disappointments stem from my high expectations. When this drama was good, it was good , which leaves other parts of it glaringly flawed. But like Young-min, who learned the value of not giving up on life, I’m glad I continued on with this drama. The journey may have occasionally been flooded by Se-jin’s excessive crocodile tears and blocked by her brother’s boulder-sized rings, but at least it led to a satisfying ending.

Thanks for the recap! I'm glad I stuck with the show. I too thought the show dipped in the middle when it delved too deep into tragic melodrama territory. But the rom-com between our male leads (I'm glad the show called that out!) was absolutely adorable all the way through. I love bickering couples in general and these two were a stellar pair.

Young-min and Seung-tak's relationship really was a rom-com. I loved their bromance. The final episodes were really good, wrapping up the drama nicely. It turned out to be a fun, heartwarming journey.

So glad the show acknowledged the real romcom was between Young-min and Seung-tak. Love a bit of self-awareness in my shows. While the show was at times frustrating during the middle, I am satisfied with how everything was wrapped up by the end. Thank god Young-min didn’t lose his memories or the lessons he learned during his time as a ghost. I legit would’ve brought out the pitchforks if that happened. I still think the fantasy elements were extremely flimsy and the female characters were criminally underused, but I’ve made my peace with it. Overall, nothing extraordinary, but a fun, heartwarming ride nonetheless.

this show was the epitome of how well written Bromance should look like... Seung Tak and Young Min will remain my favs for a looong loong time.

its sad to bid adieu to the show i adored and enjoyed thoroughly without worrying about the issues (yes there were few here and there) which ideally should make me roll my eyes but it was Kim Beom and Rain together pulled thru it all.

I really pray and wish (my request on repeat) someone gives KB a role as charming, charismatic male lead in a Rom Com.. he deserves soooooooooooooo much more... at least look at that Heart warming Smile of his.

thanks for the recap and sooo happy i watched this show.. @ally-le thanks for asking me to watch it for Rain and i am taking Kim Beom with me in my heart and eyes...❤💜❤❤💜❤❤💜❤

Thanks for the recap, @daebakgrits ! I haven't seen both these episodes because of work (and I watched the ending of Moonshine before this) but I surely will watch it very soon - maybe tomorrow night? When there's no work next day? :) Love the bromance between the 2 doctors and I think Na-eun has very slightly improved since Cinderella and Four Knights.

Agree, @daebakgrits , the last 2 episodes did really well, leaving me with all the feels and ready to forgive the more irritating parts of the show. Really happy with the way they finished off the stories of all the coma ghosts - they were my favourites! Although at first I wanted them all to wake up, in the end I was really satisfied with the dignity with which they wound up the ghost's story who had to remain in a coma. The satisfaction of seeing our "OTP" complete a surgery together as partners at the end had me cheering. Not the most nuanced of dramas, but it had a lot of heart, and Rain and Kim Beom were great throughout.

I'm glad that the show and Seung-Tak knew that the kind relationship Seung-Tak and Youg-min had was rom-com :D I'm glad with how it all ended, no surprises but I was not watching this drama for surprised I like the ride, I liked the performance and I liked the leads Thank you for recaps, as much as I waited for this drama every week I waited for your recaps too, made everything extra enjoyable ^_^

I agree with the sentiment that Kim Bum and Rain made this the bromance to beat. A rom-com it was. I would have been happy if they were the end game! Uee, unfortunately, was wasted in this role. Her scenes were superfluous. Any green actress could have played her. I liked the happy ending for our cute little coma ghost couple though. They’re adorable. And Sung Dong-Il continues to show us why he’s casted in every show. He elevates every scene he is in. I’m glad I saw this one.

i really enjoyed this drama alot. i think on of my favorite moments, was when seung-tak realised soo-jung is being hit on by the other dr. He was so cute when he was getting jealous.

@daebakgrits Thanks for the humourous weecaps of this drama. Unlike you, I teared up at Gook Chan's farewell rather than Tes's.

Now that the show is over, I realize that the writing was actually a bit clever because they twisted some of the common tropes into bits that din't mess the flow of the story like the amnesia trope changed into waking up from coma with no memory of one's life as a ghost or the love triangle trope shown as Se Jin and Soo Jung cordially forming rules to bond with Young Min/Seung Tak spirit/body. Scenes like these keep me wishing, the drama had been better.

Though I liked the character growth of both the leads and the writing in keeping it consistent in the finale, I wouldn't have minded an episode of having Young Min being back to his pricky self and slowly discovering his memories and lessons he learnt as a coma ghost because that would have been a hoot along with Seung Tak trying his best to provoke him into regaining his memory. I would have picked that plot over watching Se Jin wasting 2-3 episodes by crying.

Overall the drama was good, mostly attributed to Rain and Kim Bum's chemistry and their respective fictional characters.

Loved this Kdrama....worthwhile lessons on human relationships with great bromance, interesting character arcs that wrapped up at the end. I was hesitant to watch another drama about ghosts, but this one was so well-done. I enjoyed this medical drama as much as the Dr. Romantic franchise.
