Power Book II: Ghost  Recap: No Loose Ends

Power book ii: ghost.

power ghost season 2 episode 7

Although the ending of episode seven feels a bit unfinished, the opening scene brings us the Mafia-esque action that feels familiar to  Power  viewers. Lorenzo, Dru, and company run up on Kino while he is getting it in with a lady friend. One bullet straight to the head, and Kino’s brain splatters on the wall. And to everyone’s surprise, it is Dru who pulls the trigger even though the plan was for his father to do so. Though Dru’s shot is clean, his actions that follow are not, and Lorenzo seizes the moment to teach his son a lesson. While Dru is soliciting a promise to remain quiet from Kino’s lady friend, his father puts a bullet in her. Rule number one: No loose ends.

While her husband and son are off blasting heads, Monet receives a surprise visit at the bar from her sister-in-law Evelyn Tejada (played by New York Undercover’s Lauren Velez). Her husband, Frank Tejada, is missing after being released from jail early, and she comes to Monet for answers (and most likely some cash). Monet offers Evelyn no concrete answers, only cryptic advice about consequences and rules accompanied with a wad of cash. The truth is Monet suspects that Evelyn’s husband Frank is a snitch and ordered Cane to kill him.

Do you know who’s not a snitch? Tariq! Maclean and Saxe tell him that the prosecution has video footage of Ramirez’s murder. The three of them can clearly see that the guy in the footage is not Tariq. But when allowed to rat Cane out, he doesn’t fold. Saxe doesn’t understand why it is so hard for Tariq to “just tell them” who did it. Unlike Maclean, he doesn’t understand street politics. Snitching or providing information that would jeopardize another person’s freedom is not respected in gang/drug culture.

Monet and Lorenzo are still not on the same page back at the Tejada home. She questions Lorenzo about his and Dru’s whereabouts and Dru’s overall safety. They get into an argument over their conflicting desires — a safe life vs. the good life. Monet finally tells Lorenzo about her “get out the game” plan, and he’s not here for it.

Over at Stansfield, Tariq tells Brayden he needs his family picture to stay out of jail. You know the one where Brayden’s dad is dressed as Nicole Simpson and Sweeney, Brayden’s uncle, is in blackface as OJ Simpson? Yeah, that one. The two get into a heated argument over the picture, however. Brayden refuses to throw his family, specifically his dad, under the bus. Leaking that photo means his father is implicated right along with Sweeney. Without the physical photo, Tariq goes to Tate with his information. Tate gets all politically excited; he feels confident that he now has a one-up on Sweeney.

Tariq returns to class, shocking everyone but Tate. The lecture topic grapples with the ethics of making decisions for other people without their consent. Lauren takes multiple shots at her professor during the discussion. The students use Stansfield’s dorm room raids as an example and specifically mention what happened to Lauren. After class, Tariq tries to catch up with Lauren to get the full story about the drug raid and the police questioning her. They get into an argument, of course. Tariq is pissed that Lauren never mentioned any of this to him, and Lauren is upset that, in addition to ending their relationship, he kept a lot of secrets from her.

The retrograde must be in “arguing” because apparently everyone is at each other’s necks. In an attempt to corroborate Tariq’s alibi, MacLean reaches out to his former partner/side chick Paula Matarazzo. Tariq was visiting her when Ramirez was murdered. She, unfortunately, has a deep disdain for the married yet unfaithful Davis and is not interested in bending the rules a little to help Tariq.

Back at his office, MacLean receives a visit from Tariq. They discuss alternative strategies for a strong alibi, and Tariq asks if Saxe and MacLean know anything about the police questioning Lauren. Saxe lies and says no, but advises Tariq to stay away from her until they know more. Saxe informs MacLean that he saw Lauren in Jenny’s office, and she is definitely a prosecution witness.

Detective Whitman, who we haven’t seen in a while, pops up at Everett’s dorm while Dru is there. Whitman asks Everett about his initial statement about a gang attacking Zeke. Everett doesn’t offer a nosey Whitman any additional information. Dru knows the detective will be back and is reminded of his father’s rule — no loose ends. He needs to kill Everett but cannot bring himself to do it.

Meanwhile, Mecca has a few of his own loose ends to tie up. Monet reneged on her promise to allow him to meet Zeke. Taking matters into his own hands, Mecca runs up on Zeke on the basketball court and tells him his truth. Zeke doesn’t take the news too well and misses a meeting with an agent. Monet pops up at Stansfield to find out what’s going on with Zeke, and when he confides to his “aunty” Monet about the man who said he was his father, instead of telling him the truth, she lies even more by convincing him that his father is in prison for life. She tells him that the guy who approached him is just a fan trying to ride Zeke’s coattail. We find out more details about Monet and Dante’s teenage love story. When Monet got pregnant with Zeke, she was only 16 years old. Dante wasn’t around, not because he didn’t want to be, but because he went to the military to get away from the streets. He had no idea he had a son. At 16 years old, Monet decided for both him and Zeke, and she continues making unilateral decisions. She tells Dante that they don’t need him and to stay out of their lives. She’s a bad mom! There I said it. She’s annoyingly bitchy to and jealous of Diana. And more importantly, she makes decisions based on her ego and love for power, not what’s in her kids’ best interests.

To get back at Monet, Dante agrees to meet with Lorenzo. He decides to give him all of his supply and a team to help him handle it. Giving Lorenzo all of his supply means that Monet’s supply is cut off.

The women in the  Power  universe don’t have a great track record of making the best decisions. Carrie is the worst, and her behavior is starting to catch up with her. Rumors begin circling on campus about her personal life. I mean, they are telling all the tea, including her sleeping with Jabari and messing with Zeke. Dean Wong informs Carrie he doesn’t think she’s the right fit to speak at professor Reynolds memorial dinner considering the campus gossip. Tate overhears and comes to Carrie’s defense. Not wanting to deal with a discrimination case, the dean agrees to move forward with Carrie as the event’s speaker, and in exchange for his “good deed,” Tate becomes her plus one. At the dinner, Tate approaches Robert Weston and kindly blackmails him. Brayden overhears and realizes that Tariq is working behind his back, and Carrie bombs her speech for Jabari. After dinner, Lauren goes to visit Tariq to tell him the truth. She and Diana arrive at the same time, and Tariq curves Lauren based on the advice of his lawyers. Diana came to Stansfield to get what she always wanted, which is Tariq. They have sex under two conditions: Diana is sure about the choice, and Monet can never find out.

While Tariq is sexing Diana, her brother is out hiding in the back of his attorney’s car. Cane threatens Davis to ensure that Tariq is the only person guilty for the murders of Ramirez and Jabari. Cane’s threats don’t really phase Davis. He and Saxe soon figure out that Carrie served as Lauren’s counselor and is using her in an attempt to prosecute Tariq. This information may work out in Tariq’s favor, but in the meantime, he has no connection, which means he has no money coming in to continue to pay Davis. What the hell is he going to do next???

Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 Episode 7 “Forced My Hand” Recap

Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 Episode 7 “Forced My Hand” Recap

Remember the old playground taunt, “liar, liar, pants on fire”? If this old childhood rhyme were true, then everybody would be walking around on fire. From Monet to Cane, Mecca, Diana, and Tariq every single person is lying in some way to protect their secrets. Although their lies haven’t caught up with them just yet, Power Book II: Ghost Season 2, Episode 7 pushes the narrative forward. While episode 7 has a lackluster ending, the opening scene more than makes up for that. In the opening scene of the episode, Dru, Lorenzo, and some random guy run in Kino’s spot while he’s getting it on with a random chick. Surprisingly, it’s Dru that puts a bullet in Kino’s head with a clean shot that leaves his brains splattered on the walls. Dru reminds the chick, “You didn’t see nothing that went on here tonight.” But Lorenzo teaches Dru the number one lesson, ” never leave any witnesses,” when he kills the woman.

While Dru and Lorenzo are out handling business, Monet receives a visit at the bar from Evelyn Tejada who happens to be Frank’s wife. Evelyn wants to know where Frank is at and tells Monet that his children need him. Monet alludes to the fact that Frank was a snitch and that she knows what happens to snitches in their line of work before she hands her sister-in-law a stack of cash. Remember Monet told Cane to kill Frank in Season 1 after she suspected he was snitching. Do you know who has been loyal to the Tejada family? Tariq. Saxe and McLean meet up with Tariq to show him a video of Detective Ramirez’s murder. You can clearly see the suspect is not Tariq but he refuses to give a name and Saxe is beyond frustrated because he can’t say why Tariq won’t give up the person. But McLean does. He gives Saxe a quick lesson on street politics. It’s not that Tariq doesn’t want to tell he can’t snitch.

Back at the Tejada household tension is rising. Monet wants to know what Lorenzo has Dru involved in and in much nicer words he tells her to mind her business. Monet is worried about Dru’s safety, reminding Lorenzo that he got shot just a few months ago. She tells him about her exit plan from the game, but Lorenzo insists that he isn’t living off another man. At Stansfield, Tariq tells Brayden that he needs the scandalous black face picture to give to Tate so that he can stay out of jail. Brayden fears that the blowback from the picture could affect his close family and not just his uncle so he refuses to get the picture for Tariq. Tariq meets up with Tate to tell him about the photo. Although Tate feels that he now has one up on Sweeny the information is useless without the actual photo.

When Tariq returns to class everyone is shocked, especially Professor Carrie. The lesson is on the ethics of making decisions for other people and Lauren takes the opportunity to take shots at the Professor. The class brings up the dorm raids, specifically what happened to Lauren.  After class, Tariq questions Lauren on why she never told him what happened. Lauren reminds Tariq that he keeps a lot of secrets and now that they’re not together, she doesn’t have to talk to him. Davis Mclean meets with his former assistant attorney and side chick Paul Matarazzo to see if she can corroborate Tariq’s alibi. Paul admits that she met up with Tariq to show him the video of him admitting to killing his father, but she reminds Davis that it would be stupid to put her on the stand. She is disgusted by Davis’s unethical tactics and refuses to lie for his client.

Tariq visits McLean to help come up with a strategy for his defense. He bring up the situation with Lauren on campus to see if it was somehow related to his arrest. When he shows Saxe a picture of Lauren, Saxe remembers seeing her at the prosecutor’s office but he keeps his mouth shut. They advise Tariq to stay away from her just in case. Saxe tells McLean that Lauren is definitely a witness for the prosecution. Meanwhile, the boys are fighting. Cane picks a fight with Dru because he feel that his brother doesn’t deserve to be next up. Lorenzo breaks the fight up and Cane takes the opportunity to throw Dru under the bus about his boyfriend Everett, who is a snitch and already identified Dru in a police investigation.  Thanks to Cane, Dru now has to “take care of it”. Dru tries to kill Everett himself, but he chickens out at the last minute.

Monet is furious that Dante told Zeke that he was his father in Episode 6. She vehemently tells him to stay out of their lives. We learn a little bit more about their teenage love story. It turns out Monet got pregnant when she was sixteen years old and didn’t tell Dante. Dante got arrested and ended up going to the army to get away from the streets. Monet can’t control Dante. To get back at her, Dante agrees to meet up with Lorenzo. He makes a deal to provide Lorenzo with all his supply and the street soldiers to get it off. Now the side business that Cane and Monet have going on with Tariq is done. Speaking of Tariq, he finally moves into uncharted territories with Diana. Diana pops up at the same time Lauren does. Tariq curves at Lauren telling her that his lawyers advised him not to talk to her and closes the door in her face. Diana tells Tariq that now they can be together and they end up making out. We don’t know if Tariq is really interested in Diana or if it’s a way to get inside information on the Tejada family. Either way, Tariq is now in messy love triangle, or shall we say square with Diana, Effie, and Lauren.

Cane can’t seem to stop messing things up. While Diana and Tariq is making out, Cane has a gun to McLean’s head. Davis keeps it calm and cool and reminds Cane that if he kills him, then he’s messing up his only chance at beating this case. Now he knows with certainty why Tariq has kept his mouth shut.  Unfortunately, by setting Tariq up Cane also implicated himself. Now the two will have to work together. Cane pops up on Tariq to tell him that they don’t have any more supply. “There’s more than one way to make money,” Cane tells Tariq before disappearing into the night.

Power Book II: Ghost season 3 episode 7 recap — Dru seeks revenge for Lorenzo's murder

Also, Jenny gets even closer to getting a RICO charge against Tariq and the Tejadas.

Lovell Adams-Gray and Mary J. Blige in Power Book II: Ghost

NOTE: this post contains spoilers for Power Book II: Ghost season 3 episode 7, "Deal or No Deal."

The romance between Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray) and Gordo (Erik Hernandez) came to a serious crossroad after the murder of Lorenzo. It's unfortunate as Gordo came into Dru's life at the perfect time when the Tejada family member lost his boyfriend Everett. One of season 3's most hopeful romances came to a devastating end following another intense scene between them.

While Gordo's showering, Dru discovers a text on Gordo's phone. The text points to Gordo as the man responsible for Lorenzo's murder. Dru grabs a gun and shoots Gordo, killing him. With incredible timing, Cane (Woody McClain) makes his way into the apartment to help console his brother and help clean up the mess.

Monet's (Mary J. Blige) cold demeanor has served as a problem with her children throughout the series. When Dru cries on her shoulder following Gordo's death, it looks as if she feels the hurt. Outside of comforting her child, Monet more than understands the role she played in her son's pain. Not only are the Tejadas in the midst of a battle with the Russian mob but they may have to go to war against Gordo's family as well if they find out.

Until Monet can figure out this situation, she comes up with a crafty plan to ease tensions with the Russians. This comes through a relationship with Kai (Sean Nelson) that the Tejada matriarch found herself in following Lorenzo's funeral. Kai has been pursuing a newly widowed Monet; apparently they had a friendship that went back to their early start in the drug game, now Kai has built himself up to have his own territory. Meeting him at the club, Monet attempts to kill him via stabbing but misses the opportunity. Thankfully, Cane steps in just at the right time again with a well placed shot to the head. As a peace offering, Monet delivers Kai's head to the Russians, which solves one of her many problems.

Another Tejada family member with some issues is Diana (LaToya Tonodeo). Last episode, her love interest Salim made some insensitive comments about Lorenzo, which pushed her toward Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.). In a last ditch effort, Salim reads a poem to Diana during an event in front of an audience, but it turns her off completely. In a fit of anger, Salim uses his privilege to remove Diana from her job at the student bookstore. Diana asks Monet for some advice, to which Monet offers to assassinate him. But Diana comes up with her own plan.

Sali'’s liberal progressive nature and background seems to be a front for many other things. This includes that Salim doesn't come from a single Black woman household in the hood. In fact, he comes from the suburbs with two white parents who come from a mass amount of wealth. Diana even confronts him with photos that show him holding an equestrian trophy. Negotiating a deal that won't expose him, Diana demands Salim cuts his hours to give more work time for less fortunate employees and give her job back with a significant raise.

Cane, meanwhile, develops a deeper bond with Effie (Alix Lapri) once Tariq kicks her to the curb over Lauren (Paige Hurd). Now that she's out of the business with cash flow gone, Effie has to worry about paying tuition. That is until Cane pays off her tuition for the entire year. There's been a romance brewing between the two for the past few episodes and this might be the moment that pushes both closer together.

Brayden (Gianni Paolo) and Tariq somewhat make up as they try to run their coffee/drug business. Things get intense at the Weston Firm once Brayden discovers that the financial company has been cooking the books and that both Tariq's trust fund money and Tejada's safety net money may be in danger. Of course, Lucas (David Walton) knows this as well, mentioning to Brayden that he knows him and Tariq have been secretly dealing drugs. Instead of going to authorities, Lucas wants in.

By the end of the episode the Tejadas seem to be a family again, eating dinner together. That's until Jenny (Paton Ashbrook) finally gets the RICO charge she wants. But she doesn't arrest Tariq or Monet. Instead, Diana is placed under arrest as Jenny finds information on her dealing drugs on campus for Lorenzo.

Now that Diana is under arrest, what does this mean for the Tejada family? Will she snitch? Who knows? However, the stakes have gotten even higher.

It’s that season of year again: When everyone gathers together, holds each other close and takes part in the time-honored tradition of Hanukkah Christmas Sex Week at Stansfield University.

Despite all of the condoms tossed around in this week’s  Power Book II: Ghost , surprisingly few characters actually do the deed. But Tariq  does get rid of a dead body, and Paz is back, so there’s that. Read on for the highlights of “Sex Week.”

CANE DISPLACED? | Cane and another masked man rob a church and pistol-whip the pastor. He hasn’t been home since his beat-down at the jail three days before, which is a problem, because he usually helps Monet handle things when they get their supply re-upped. So Diana tracks him down and advises him to show up when needed, which will slide him back in their mother’s good graces. He agrees, but makes her promise not to tell Monet where he is in the meantime.

But Cane gets picked up by the police on the way to the product delivery, so Diana calls Tariq to the bar. They wind up making out downstairs while the connect is giving Monet a hard time upstairs; when it gets violent, she shoots and kills him. Diana and Tariq run upstairs when they hear the noise, then Tariq winds up helping Dru dispose of the body. So when Ramirez gives Cane an alibi and goes with him to Monet’s, they learn that Tariq is handling things. And neither one of them seems excited about it.

SO CLOSE ! | Tariq isn’t one of the finalists for the Canonical Studies fellowship. Carrie comes up to him after to let him know that if helping Zeke is hurting his GPA; of course, Jabari takes notice of their close conversation. But losing out on the chance to graduate early is the least of ‘Riq’s problems. And one of the most pressing issues at hand is that there are a ton of unfulfilled orders on the Course Correct app — and Simon Stern’s hubby, aka Tariq’s main source of funding, has noticed.

SEX, LIES AND JABARI’S BEING SHADY  | Carrie and Zeke are still sleeping together, and he wants her to meet his aunt. Of course, that’s never going to happen, but she’s gentle as she reminds him that she’s a professor and he’s a student and a star athlete, so “Any of this getting out would be explosive.” She encourages him to go to the annual Sex Week Q Party — incidentally, which Simon Stern started when he was a student at the school — and hook up with some co-eds. He says he’ll go for appearances’ sake, if she wants him to, but he’s only interested in being with her.

Afterward, while Zeke is in the shower, Jabari shows up with takeout and some sweet talk about how they’re back into their old groove. After seeing evidence that he assumes backs up his theory about a Carrie/Tariq relationship, Jabari messes with Tariq’s part in a class exercise about The 48 Laws of Power . Essentially, they partner up and have to figure out each other’s secret in order to get an A. Lauren and Tariq are partners, and because they’re super flirty, their work session soon turns into a tickle fight in her dorm room. That’s the exact moment that her boyfriend, Malcolm, arrives and (like a creeper) starts shooting photos of the pair thrashing around on the bed “so you can see yourself,” he tells Lauren when she realizes he’s there. After Tariq leaves, Lauren tells him they’re done. “Don’t make a mistake you’ll regret,” he cautions. “You  are the mistake I regret. Get out,” she shoots back.

Even more messed up than Malcolm’s reaction to Lauren’s (actual) romantic interest in Tariq is Jabari’s reaction to Carrie’s (in no way based in fact) romantic interest in Tariq. He calls ‘Riq into his office to offer him another shot at the fellowship… provided he write a personal essay that discusses the power dynamic between himself and a woman he’s been with. “I want details. Specifics,” the prof says, and even though it’s a very bizarre extra-credit assignment, Tariq jumps at the chance to be back in the running.

LADY PROBLEMS! | Despite his 400 courses and doing all of Zeke’s homework, Tariq finds time to tail Riley. He winds up at her court hearing for a possession of marijuana charge. And when her lawyer/uncle Saxe shows up, a shocked Tariq knows he has to do something drastic. So he tells Brayden that Riley tried to hook up with him twice — but Brayden doesn’t believe him and angrily wonders why his roomie is lying. But after hearing from Trace that Riley and Tariq were in his room that night at the party, Brayden starts to think that something’s up. Riley denies any guilt, but Brayden ends things with her, anyway.

And on the night of the infamous Q Party, Lauren swings by Tariq’s room and announces that she and Malcolm are done. They start to make out, but as she goes to unzip his coat, he shuts her down and makes it seem like she’s only trying to get with him in order to best him in the class exercise. She’s hurt, so she leaves; then we see that he really wanted to put a stop to any potential nookie because he still has blood and such all over his clothes from helping Monet with her kill earlier that night.

MEANWHILE, AT TASHA’S TRIAL  | Saxe calls Paz (aw, hi Paz!) to the stand, then walks a very fine line between honoring his alliance with Maclean and making Steven Ott think he’s trying to get Tasha put away as a queenpin. Paz basically makes Tasha look really bad, and then Maclean makes it look like Angela’s sister doesn’t know what she’s talking about, so it’s basically a wash. Afterward, though, Davis is MAD… until Saxe presents him with “a direct line for taking Tariq down” — aka the file for Epiphany Turner, the exotic dancer who was helping Tariq move product — “and it’s a slam-dunk.”

Later, Paz visits Tasha in jail. Tasha reasserts that she didn’t kill Jamie, but Paz points out that she knows who did. And, unlike Angela, she can still survive this whole mess. “Maybe it’s  your turn to walk away,” Paz says.

Now it’s your turn. What did you think of the episode? Sound off in the comments!

“Sex week” on a show calling itself Power and there were just two super tame, boring sex scenes. What’s up with that? The original show was never shy about going there. It’s still Starz, right? So what gives? If we’re being honest, every episode of Book II that’s aired so far could have aired on ABC. It doesn’t even look more expensive than an ABC drama, either. Nor is the writing much better . . . I mean, I like the show overall, but step your game up!

I think the storyline had a lot of plot twists in Power Book I. There is lot of mayhem going on by having Stanfield University as a backdrop. So much shenanigans from the annual sex week as a tradition to the well devised plan by Tarik of supplying drugs to the college students. Then the new relation- ships that are developing between students and another hot and heavy hook up between a student and a professor truly presses the button. This Power Book shows a- nother gangster hood style of drug trafficking headed by Monet Tejada played by Mary J Blige and her family, two sons and a daughter Still the major issue on hand is Tasha’s case for murder of her husband Ghost. The trial is still displaying all non stop maneuvers by the prosecutors to attempt to find her guilty. Meanwhile Tarik remains totally focused to help get her off. He wants his mother to be free.

this should have been on apple tv. the marketing would be awesome. the new power book from apple.

I want to know the song an artist who sang the song while Zeke and Carrie were in the bed at her apt. something about playing games and switching lanes. That joint is fire! A lot of people are looking for that song. It would be a hit for sure!

Power season 2 episode 7 review: you're not the man.

Whippy

What exactly is Ghost's plan? Anyone?

We probably heard the word plan at least five times on  Power Season 2 Episode 7 , but it looks like Ghost is keeping the details of his operation to himself. But with so many people directly (or indirectly) involved, it's going to get increasingly harder for him to be so guarded.

Things almost collapsed for him after Tommy went on another one of his downward spirals, but alas Tasha came to the rescue and all was right again. Or was it?

Ghost Reins in Tommy - Power

With Holly gone, it was clear that Tommy was going to have a bit of a breakdown because the guy doesn't have the faintest idea how to handle his emotions. It was completely in character for him to give in to his paranoia and make a hasty decision, like moving all the money from the laundry mats.

It seemed like a rather stupid idea at first, but then I remembered the one thing you can't forget about Tommy (even when he's acting like a child); never underestimate him. There was no way he'd be dumb enough to be riding with the money, so when the cops pulled them over, there was no real reason to worry.

However, the fact that the cops were tailing him and asking Holly questions, led him to the realization that Angela was even closer than he realized. And that's when things got a little nutty.

I trust you. It's her I don't trust. She's the problem, G. You've been fucking her this whole time, telling her you're going to leave Tasha. Well, you did. You left Tasha and she's still coming after us. Don't you get it? When you gonna realize you ain't in control of the situation no more. No plan of yours is going to stop until she gets what she fucking wants. Tommy Permalink: I trust you. It's her I don't trust. She's the problem, G. You've been fucking her this whole...

Now, Tommy isn't wrong, but was the best thing to do next really kill Angela? Absolutely not.

Luckily, Ghost was able to convince Tasha to talk Tommy down, which she did expertly. Tasha had an interesting role this week, as she continued to show how smart she can be, while also exhibiting that ruthless part of her herself she keeps hidden at times.

The comment section has been a lightning rod for conversations about Tasha vs. Angela. I've been on record as saying that I am Team Angela, partly because I see that there is a real love between her and Ghost, but also because it's always seemed like Ghost and Tasha have completely disconnected from one another emotionally.

Obviously there was a time when they were in love and there still is love there, but I think Ghost checked out of that marriage a long time ago. Multiple times in the first season, Tasha and Tommy noted the changes they saw in Ghost. Those changes were not only due to Angela, but also due to his desire to lead a different life. As he pursued this new life, he drifted further and further away from his wife.

Tasha as a character can be grating at times, but I've always admired her spunk and loyalty. And doesn't she deserve better than the way Ghost has treated her?

Personally, I've never felt much of anything towards Shawn. Sure he's stop traffic hot, but I feel like we don't really know him. All we do know is he loves Tasha, and pretty soon he's going to have to make a choice between protecting his father and protecting his woman.

Elsewhere, Holly Monica is alive and well and vowing to be over Tommy. There's no way Angela actually bought that little routine she put on in the hotel room. Angela may be a lot of things, but she is not that dumb, as evidenced by her cloning Ghost's phone. That's pretty slick, except there is no way the biggest drug distributor in New York City has one cell phone. Right?

Everything Else You Need To Know

  • This Simon Stern business is still a thing, and Ghost has partnered up with Mrs. Stern to bring him down. Any way she ends up flipping on Ghost? Anything is possible on this show.
  • What was up with the Dre and Shawn beef? Did I miss something there?
  • Lobos is in town and he seems to know all, thanks to the little birdie he has relaying him information. My guess on the little birdie's identity? Kanan.
  • Speaking of Kanan, another week of his absence. and I don't miss him one bit. 50 Cent works in small doses, so leaving him out the last few weeks has been a smart play, if you ask me.
  • They really upped their sex scenes this week. That Tommy threesome scene may have been even more explicit than the Ghost/Angela window romp from last season.
  • Speaking of Tommy, he just can't give that adorable dog up. Just like he won't be able to give Holly up. I see what you did there writers!

It was quieter than normal this week, but "You're Not The Man" was still a strong installment. What does the arrival of Lobos do to Ghost and Tommy? When is Ghost going to find about Tasha and Shawn? Will Ghost be able to bring Stern down? Is Holly truly gone forever?

Only three episodes left! I repeat, only three episodes left! The comment section awaits all your passionate responses, and I can't wait to read them! Let's keep the conversation flowing!
