“  We went on the sunset trip - it was superb! The staff were kind and well organised. The boat was spacious and clean. We enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. Such beautiful views, warm sea to swim and snorkel in, nets to relax and dry off in and then the stunning sunset to top it all off. Highly recommend!  ”

“  Amazing!!!This trip was amazing nice people that take care of everything! Very kind and enough delicious food and drinks on board!! The price is nothing for what you get!  ”

“  My friends and I (all University students) were looking for a boat cruise and found this one. We did the 6hr catamaran boat cruise to Tabarca and it was the highlight of our trip! The boat cruise included one alcoholic drink, fresh fruit and snacks constantly, a lovely lunch, beautiful views from the ocean and snorkelling off the boat at Tabarca island with tons of fish to entertain us. The staff were incredibly friendly, the boat wasn't overly full which left lots of room for us to have our own space but still meet some other travellers. When snorkelling they fed the fish near us so we could swim with them. Honestly, could not say enough good things about our trip and recommend it to all ages and groups!.  ”

“  Fabulous boat party in Alicante!. Booked this experience for my daughters hen weekend in Alicante. I personally did not attend but having paid for this outing on the high seas I wanted to ensure that it met their expectations . I exchanged emails with Fanny who was extremely pleasant and helpful. The bank transfer was easy to negotiate so the girls didn’t have to deal with the final payment on arrival. On their return home the party could not have been more enthusiastic. They said there was lots of room on the boat to dance and relax. The crew were friendly, cheerful and accommodating. The snacks and drinks on offer were plentiful and the dj was happy to take requests. They enjoyed having the opportunity to swim and fortunately nobody was seasick. All in all it’s seems to have been one of the highlights in their packed itinerary. On the company website they also advertise days trips for those who want something a little less energetic, these look ideal for families.  ”

- 848laurents -

“  Very good activity. Top crew. Visit to Tabarca Island. Nice and fun. Tabarca is the only inhabited island in the Region of Valencia and is located opposite the city of Alicante, 11 nautical miles offshore and near the Santa Pola headland. In fact, it’s more than just an island: it’s a small archipelago that comprises the islets of La Cantera, La Galera and La Nao as well as the Isla de Tabarca itself.  ”

- Jonathan Bate - (Facebook) -

“  I booked the boat for 15 people for a birthday party. We had an amazing time! The staff were fantastic, they let us play music, enjoy all of the boat, served plenty of drinks and cleaned up after our fun! Highly reccomend them, great customer service and they couldn't have been more acomodating.  ”

- Travelabout2u -

“  Brilliant day out!! I cannot recommend this experience enough! Crew were polite and professional and clearly work brilliantly as a team. They were attentive and multilingual so able to answer any query. The sail was up and everyone was safe and comfortable and enjoying the trip. Only an hour and a half travel each way which flew by and nearly three hours swimming and snorkelling in the warm clear seas. Option to go to the island to the beach or wander but we stayed at the boat as my girls wanted to see the fish. An abundance of drinks and snacks on board, all freshly prepared. Staff were relaxed but professional and on the ball. Decks were cleaned and tables wiped, glasses cleared and washed, drinks chilled and bread fresh. It was worth the cost. Better, I would imagine, with fewer people... boat holds 62 and there were about 40 of us so more space for shade or sun bathing. Suitable for couples families or groups of young people . Paella was delivered by boat...hot and freshly cooked, chicken, vegetarian or seafood and really delicious...the fish devoured the sbsll amount left over. A great day out so thanks to all the crew and organizers...very much enjoyed!  ”

“  Amazing boat ride! Crew is very nice! Very much recommended.  ”

Spain's Diego Botin stunned heavyweights Tom Slingsby of Australia and Peter Burling of New Zealand by brilliantly steering Los Gallos to victory in SailGP's $2 million, winner-take-all Grand Final on San Francisco Bay on Sunday.

Botin's thrilling victory in the dash across the tops of the waves for sailing's biggest cash prize snapped Slingsby's three-season run as champion of tech titan Larry Ellison's global league and denied Burling a breakthrough victory.

Spain qualified for the Grand Final thanks to a mindboggling error by French skipper Quentin Delapierre and his crew in an earlier fleet race that knocked them out of the regatta.

Botin took full advantage of that gift and never let trans-Tasman Sea rivals Australia and New Zealand engage in an anticipated showdown between skippers with deep America's Cup and Olympic pedigrees.

Botin hit the starting line first and led his more accomplished rivals all the way around the course in front of the Golden Gate Bridge aboard his foiling 50-foot catamaran with a red outline of a rooster on the wingsail.

“I cannot describe the feeling now,” Botin said before heading ashore for a Champagne shower with his crew. “It was an amazing race. We nailed the start and we managed to keep it up. We were lucky because we broke a rudder or something on the last downwind but we managed to stay in front."

The Australians had a technical issue as well as they were chasing down the Spanish but they didn't recover. One of their foil boards didn't lock into place and they buried their bows in the water.

“It was a normal tack, but somehow the board came off the lock,” Slingsby said. "We’ve done thousands of tacks this week and it hasn’t happened at all, then today it happened in the final $2 million dollar race. What do you do? It’s just unlucky.”

After dominating the day's two fleet races, the Aussies seemed locked in.

“Honestly, the team sailed the best we’ve sailed, almost ever, today,” said Slingsby, an Olympic gold medalist who helped Oracle Team USA to an epic comeback victory in the America's Cup on these same waters in 2013. "We had that mentality the whole race, even when we were behind, so I’m so proud of this team and the way they sailed. I’m honored to be part of it all.”

Botin noted that it was his country's fourth big victory on Sunday. Spain won a record fourth European Championship in soccer, Carlos Alcaraz won his second straight Wimbledon men's championship and Sergio Garcia won in LIV Golf.

“Beating the Kiwis and Aussies in the Grand Final here in San Francisco ... we’re over the moon,” Botin said. "It’s been a big grind and we’ve been through a lot in this league. Last season we were last in the scores, and look, this season we win. I think we have an amazing team. Let's see if we can keep it together and keep the ball rolling.”

Slingsby won both fleet races Sunday to claim the San Francisco regatta that preceded the Grand Final.

Burling is a three-time Olympic medalist, including one gold, and as helmsman of Emirates Team New Zealand will pursue a third straight America's Cup victory in the fall.

“We're all feeling the pain at the moment, but we’re really proud of the way the team has gone about their business,” Burling said.

Late in the fourth fleet race of the San Francisco regatta, France approached the final turning mark on port and needed to keep clear of Denmark on starboard, but turned too close and made contact. The impact snapped a rudder and sent the catamaran up on its port hull, where it hung precipitously for a few heart-stopping seconds as the crew avoided a capsize.

Botin dashed ahead to finish in front of France in the 10-boat fleet. France was hit with an eight-point penalty and the damage kept it out of the fifth fleet race, opening the door for Spain's big victory.

“Sometimes you prefer to stay at home, and today I think that was the case," Delapierre said. “At the last tack I just didn’t see the Danish and we crashed with them. We didn’t finish the job and that’s really painful for everybody on board right now.”

Burling and his Kiwi Black Foils are setting a course toward a $2 million SailGP payday

  • Copy Link copied

The final day of SailGP’s Season 4 could bring a nice seven-figure payday for skipper Peter Burling and his Team New Zealand Black Foils on San Francisco Bay.

The Kiwis head into the final regatta already having clinched a spot in the $2 million, winner-take-all Grand Final, the biggest cash prize in sailing. Their two opponents will be determined via five fleet races on Saturday and Sunday in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Three-time defending SailGP champion Tom Slingsby and Team Australia have a good chance of making the final if they stay in the top three and keep their 50-foot foiling catamaran, the Flying Roo, in one piece.

The Kiwis have a 15-point lead over their rivals from across the Tasman Sea, with Diego Botin and Spain sitting just two points behind the Aussies. Quentin Delapierre has France another five points back in the fleet of 10 national teams in tech titan Larry Ellison’s global league.

The New Zealanders will pocket $350,000 for finishing atop the season leaderboard and then go for the $2 million in the Grand Final, which is double the payout for each of the first three season championships.

“As a team we’ve really wanted to set the benchmark all season long,” Burling said Friday. “We obviously had a good wobble in the middle of the season, but seeing the way we’ve come on in the second half is really pleasing. We really want to go into the final with momentum.”

The Kiwis have dominated despite a stunning setback in the season’s third regatta, when their wingsail suddenly shattered and fell into the Mediterranean minutes after they had completed the first day of racing in Saint-Tropez. They were forced to the docks for the rest of that regatta and the next regatta.

It’s not surprising the Kiwis have bounced back, considering their deep experience. Burling and wing trimmer Blair Tuke won three Olympic medals together, including one gold, and form the core of two-time defending America’s Cup champion Emirates Team New Zealand.

They won five of the first 12 regattas while the Aussies, who dominated SailGP’s first three seasons, have won just once.

“We need to just go wrap it out now,” Burling said. “All season long, San Fran has been the goal to get here, try to be the top performing team and put it all together in the final. Looks like the weather’s going to be awesome, good breeze.”

Slingsby, an Olympic gold medalist and former America’s Cup champion, isn’t used to coming into the final regatta in second place.

“The Kiwis and the Aussies have an amazing rivalry in every sport we do,” Slingsby said. “For sure it does sting a little more when you lose to the Kiwis. I’m sure they’ll say the same about us. But the fact is, they’ve been the form team. You even take away the penalty points we got that I felt were pretty harsh, and they still beat us. They would have overtaken us. They really came home strong the second half of the season.

“They deserve the prize money for winning the points score and we’ve got to try to win the overall season one,” Slingsby said.

Slingsby has had great success on San Francisco Bay, starting when he helped Oracle Team USA mount a stunning comeback against Emirates Team New Zealand to defend the America’s Cup in 2013. He then won the first three SailGP championships there.

“The way we draw our confidence is in this venue,” Slingsby said. “This venue suits our sailing — strong winds, consistent. We’ve done really well in that million-dollar race in the past. So we’ve got to look for different ways to draw that confidence and we’re looking to draw that confidence from our history here.”

In last year’s Grand Final, Slingsby held on through a few tense moments after his catamaran fell off its foils and then prevailed over Burling of New Zealand in a short dash to the finish. Britain’s Sir Ben Ainslie was third.
