The Newport Yacht Club's 2023 frostbite series began on Jan. 1 and will continue every Sunday until mid April. Thirty people participated to start the season off, with sunny, mild temperatures and wind WNW 12-18 knots. Below are the top results for the day. NYC Frostbite Series Closes
The final day of the Newport Yacht Club 2023 Frostbite Series was held April 16, with 27 people participating. Top finishers were Paul DelNero, Brooke Mastrorio, Jonathan Thurston and Xay Khamsyvoravong For the season, FJ Ritt finished first, Missy Hudspeth was second and Peter Fernberger was third.

Frostbite starts 1 January at the Newport Yacht Club. After this we race every Sunday, except Easter Sunday, until the middle of April. We start setting up the boats at 1130. The wind started at 10 to 15 knots out of the west, but increased to more than 20 knots when it shifted to the southwest, forcing racing to be terminated after seven complete races.
