We would like to reassure all our guests and partners that we are supplementing our existing rigorous health and safety protocol with coronavirus-specific guidance, procedures and training. These measures are in place to ensure a safe and comfortable environment when on board our vessel or visiting our office. We continue to monitor information from World Health Organization (WHO), Center for Disease Control (CDC) and local health authorities to ensure that our actions and precautions are comprehensive. Since the guidance from WHO, CDC and local health authorities may change from time to time, we will continue to update our protocols and procedures as necessary to reflect such changes.

We will be conducting social distancing onboard the vessel and operating at a 50% reduction in capacity.

Vessel will be cleaned and disinfected with proper disinfecting solutions prior to boarding, during and after trips.

Guests will be required to sanitize before boarding the vessel and there will be sanitizing stations mounted onboard.

Cashless payment options

Crew members will be required to wear gloves and masks.

Signage/Markings will be placed onboard the vessel to remind staff and guest about social distancing.

Snorkeling gear will be sanitized before and after each use.

What happens in case of bad weather?

For captained charters, weather cancellations and reschedulings are entirely at the discretion of the Captain or Boat Owner. The Renter can not invoke 'bad weather' and request a refund as reason for cancellation unless the Captain or the Boat Owner agrees to it. For captained charter, the Captain will make the decision if the weather conditions are dangerous to get out on the water. Cloudy skies or a slight chance of rain are not grounds for cancellation or rescheduling. If a cancellation or rescheduling due to bad weather is necessary, either the Renter or the Boat Owner must send an email to [email protected] stating the reason. Nassau Catamaran Sailing and Snorkeling Tour

There's something special about the serenity of a Sail and Snorkel Cruise across the blue waters of the Bahamas. With the whisper of the waves on the hull and the gentle warm ocean breezes across the bow, you will soon feel your cares slipping away on Nassau tours like this.

Board your waiting catamaran and set out on an adventure to one of the most beautiful reefs near Nassau. The boat features a spacious deck area, shaded as well as open to the warm Bahamian sun, so there is a place for everyone attending this Nassau catamaran tour. The boat also has two bathrooms on board. As you sail to the reef, your crew will pass out the included snorkeling gear and give instruction on snorkeling.

Depending on the sea and weather conditions that day, your captain will set a course to a location where you will have the best Nassau snorkeling experience. Upon arrival at the snorkeling spot, your crew will join you in the water to answer any questions or concerns you might have about snorkeling before you explore the wonderful underwater world of coral and marine life. Snorkeling is from the boat in water that will be over your head. Flotation vests are required while in the water and come in large and small sizes. You'll need to provide your own vests for small children and infants. Time at the reef is approximately 60 minutes. As water temperature is usually 75-80 degrees in the winter and warmer in the summer months, wetsuits are not required or provided.

After your time in the water, climb back on board via the snorkeler friendly "Stairway to the Sea," and feel the wind in your hair as your catamaran makes the approximate one-hour sail towards home. There is a one hour open bar for the ride back to the marina so enjoy a nice cocktail! The boat returns to Paradise Island and you will disembark near the Atlantis Resort. Guests are responsible for their own transportation back to the cruise pier at their own expense (not included).

Please Note: It is the captain's intention to use the sails as often as possible. If for any reason the captain feels the use of sails is not safe or conducive to a prompt return, whether it is related to weather, mechanical, or any other unforeseen situation, they will use the motor.

On the island of New Providence, Nassau Bahamas is the country's commercial and political capital. The city has great bars, restaurants and shopping as well as a cruise liner port. You will likely fly to the airport on New Providence to join your Nassau yacht charter from one of the marinas downtown, close to Paradise Island resort.

Best islands for Catamaran Charter Bahamas

On your Nassau yacht charter, where should you head to? It depends what you want from a sailing vacation. Just 4.4 miles from Paradise Island to the east is Rose Island, a lightly inhabited island with a few beach bars, shops and holiday homes that has become a great escape from downtown Nassau for sailors. This can be your first (or last) stop on your catamaran charter holiday.

Direct to the west of New Providence is the biggest Bahama island, Grand Bahama. Grand Bahama Island has it all as far as a sailing holiday is concerned - whether Freetown's tax free shopping or the beaches and nature reserves on the island, often those who fly to the island find little need to leave except to go home!

To the north of New Providence are the Berry Islands, which are a mecca for fishing charter holidays. There is deep water and a nutrient upwelling that drives a marine ecosystem that even hosts some of the best game fish. A fishing charter in the Bahamas wouldn't go wrong if you headed north to these islands.

To the NE of Nassau Bahamas are the Abaco Islands. With Great Abaco the main island, this was the first island to be colonised by British loyalists after the American Revolutionary War. As such the likes of the capital, Marsh Harbour have beautiful old buildings and churches that date back to the 18th Century and before. As a sailing destination, Great Abaco has wonderful beaches, snorkeling and fishing - again, a great place to cut free and go offline.

Due east of New Providence is Eleuthera, which like Harbour Island to the north has pink sand beaches and is a romantic, quiet getaway for you on your boat charter.

Nassau's Palm Cay Marina and Highbourne Cay both lay claim to being the 'gateway' to the Exuma Islands to the south. Including Staniel Cay and Shroud Cay, the Exumas are a protected sea park where you cannot even go fishing. Whether on the uninhabited Shroud Cay or the more developed private resort island of Staniel Cay, you can swim over and enjoy - but not eat - the wildlife here!

Cat Island lies to the east of the Exumas and is notable for its seven mile long, pink sand beach as well as the highest point in the Bahamas, the 63 metre high Como Hill. Cat Island lies to the north of Crooked Island, which is notable for its lagoon that is so shallow you can walk a good mile out and not see water much above your knees - excellent for angling!

Crewed Catamaran Charters from Nassau

You don't need to worry about being an experienced sailor or even sailing the boat out of Nassau with Borrow a Boat! A Nassau crewed charter (private yacht charter) on a motor boat or sailing catamaran private yacht can mean you do as much or as little physically sailing the yacht as you like on your yacht charter holiday.

A skippered yacht charter or will mean that the skipper will be aboard with their own cabin to attend to all your needs. A crewed yacht rental will involve one or two crew on the boat trip who will cook, sail and make suggestions as to your best destinations on your sailing itinerary. With their local knowledge, even if you're an experienced sailor you can enjoy a perfect yacht charter holiday.

One of the advantages of a crewed yacht charter sailing vacation is that you can go longer distances from the yachtcharter base. A longer run to Crooked Island or the Exumas is possible on a Nassau crewed catamaran charter.

As to you? You can just enjoy the breezes and views on your luxury yacht charter , or if you fancy learning a bit about sailing, help the skipper or crew to get the boat from A-B.

A Bahamas crewed yacht charter will cost a little more (typically €150 a day for a skipper and €100 per crew member) and it's the done thing to thank them with a tip at the end of the week.

Bareboat Catamaran Charter From Nassau

A bareboat catamaran charter holiday will mean that you can take the charter yacht out on your own. Generally for vessels up to 20 metres LOA on a sailing license such as an RYA Day Skipper or ASA 104 Bareboat certificate, you will have total responsibility for the yacht.

You will need to think about your sailing itinerary, victualling, possible secondary ports should a marina be full, as well as issues like weather and mooring fees.

On a bareboat catamaran charter you will be asked to pay for insurance in the form of a security deposit to the chartercompany on departure or through buying charter insurance before you leave the yacht charter base on your sailing trip.

7 Days - Exuma and Eleuthera: Heading west out of Nassau you can spend the first afternoon and evening on Rose Island before making the crossing to Harbour Island for the next evening. Eleuthera is a short sail south but you will have plenty of opportunities to explore and perhaps go snorkeling. After a half day’s sail on to Exuma you can explore these cays, pausing at Norman’s Cay and Allan’s Cay. From here you will cross back to Nassau to prepare to hand over the boat and head home.

14 Days - Inagua and Cat Island: On a 14 day crewed Nassau private yacht charter you can get as far SE as the salt and flamingo island of Inagua, island hopping through the Bahamas and pausing at places like Eleuthera, Cat Island, Crooked Island, Long Island and Exuma as you explore this out of the way part of the Bahama Island group. Do You Need A Sailing License To Charter A Catamaran In Nassau?

If you are on a skippered catamaran charter you do not need a license to sail out of Nassau, you can just turn up at the marina and go.

You do need a sailing license if you are on a bareboat catamaran charter. You will need to check with the charter agent but here are some examples of typical sailing qualifications that will allow you to charter in most countries:

International Certificate of Competence: This is issued on request by your European sailing authority and you should automatically qualify with certain national sailing qualifications.

RYA Qualifications: If you have the following qualifications you will typically be able to take a bareboat charter out of Nassau (but it is worth checking as per above), these include Day Skipper (sail or motor endorsement), Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster.

American Sailing Association (ASA) : The ASA 104 Bareboat certificate is commonly accepted but also check as per above

US Sailing: The International Proficiency Certificate is widely accepted and The Bareboat Cruising Certificate is also accepted in many cases.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.
