Seize this unique opportunity to discover some of the famous views of Montenegro, sailing in carefree comfort on stunning Boka Bay .

Step aboard the glamourous Tahi -- a sailing catamaran docked at Kotor's pier. Your sightseeing cruise starts right here, and you'll set out on the blue waters of Boka Bay , surrounded by dramatic high cliffs. You're headed across the bay to the famous area of the beautiful Baroque town of Perast, and the magical islet of Our Lady of the Rocks with it stunning church.

The catamaran offers panoramic viewing of the islet which, according to legend, was created over the centuries by seamen who kept an ancient oath -- returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the bay and, over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea.

Watch for the Porto Montenegro Marina -- the first luxury marina on the Adriatic. Step ashore at the Movida Restaurant & Lounge Club at the Solila Marina, where you can enjoy a swim at beautiful Solila Beach or simply relax on a sunbed.

Finally, board a motorcoach for a pleasant drive back to the port.

Please note: Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, sunscreen and a hat. Adriatic beaches are typically pebble beaches rather than sand.

9 Best Kotor Boat Tours (and 1 to Avoid)

Sarah profile pic

BY SARAH PAVLOVIC

Discover the best Kotor boat tours for your trip. See the top sights, beautiful scenery and swim on a fun boat tour in the stunning Bay of Kotor, Montenegro!

Kotor boat tours are one of the most popular things to do for visitors to Kotor.

And with good reason!

Kotor boat trips are great because:

  • You get the most out of your visit by seeing the top sights faster than you can by car
  • The scenery in Kotor Bay is stunning
  • You can cool off with some swimming and spend some time on the beach
  • Zooming around the bay in a boat is super fun!

We did the Our Lady of the Rocks, Mamula and Blue Cave Boat Tour  and loved it!

Having said that, there’s a huge number of Kotor boat tours to choose from, and choosing one can be overwhelming! And some tours are not as advertised.  This tour , for example, is cheap and advertises itself as having a flexible return time, however it hasn’t offered that since 2021.

Most tours visit the two must-see sights:

  • Our Lady of the Rocks

But you can also try local cuisine, hang out on the beach and visit other top destinations like Perast and Porto Montenegro marina.

The best Kotor Bay boat trip for you will probably depend on how much time you have and what you want to see. You can do a boat tour from Kotor in as little as 2 hours, or you can spend all day on a leisurely cruise.

I highly recommend taking one that visits Our Lady of the Rocks. The Blue Cave is great if you plan to swim or love natural wonders. If you’re more interested in history and museums, visiting Perast would be a better choice.

I’ve gone through them all and here is my round-up of the best Kotor boat tours. You’ll find tours that take anywhere from just a couple of hours to full-day cruises. You’ll also find both group and private boat tours. These are all highly-rated tours that have been reviewed by hundreds of other travelers.

If you’re short on time, below you’ll find my pick of the top 3 tours. And at the bottom of the page you’ll find tips on what to bring to get the most out of your Kotor boat tour.

1. Our Lady of the Rocks, Mamula and Blue Cave Boat Tour

10 Best Kotor Boat Tours

RATING: 4.7/5 ( 796+ reviews ) | TOUR LENGTH: 3 hours | BOOK NOW

Highlights of this tour:

  • Submarine tunnels
  • Mamula drive-by

The most popular of the Kotor speed boat tours, this boat tour takes you to the coast’s top attractions: Our Lady of the Rocks and the Blue Cave.

This Blue Cave boat tour starts out from Kotor City Park, which is conveniently located right opposite the old town. It takes you on a scenic ride through the Bay of Kotor, where you’ll be able to see the pretty stone houses and palaces lining the shore.

The first stop on the tour is the island church Our Lady of the Rocks by Perast. The island church is over 500 years old and has legends abound associated with it. The stories surrounding the island and its neighbour, Sveti Ɖorđe, give you an insight into the swashbuckling history of seafaring Perast’s past.

The next stop on the tour is Kotor Bay’s submarine caves, which were used to hide submarines during the Yugoslav era. You ride past Mamula Island, the former island prison that’s been turned into one of Montenegro's luxury hotels  and onto the Blue Cave .

When you get to the Blue Cave you can swim in its iridescent blue waters, snorkel and see the underwater marine life. The water here is incredibly clear and warm in summer. After swimming you cruise back through the bay to Kotor.

This is a great tour if you want to see the highlights of the bay in minimal time. It’s especially good if you’re visiting on a cruise and don’t have much time in Kotor. Combine it with a Kotor walking tour to cover the highlights of this area!

"Boat tour was nothing short of amazing. The breathtaking views, combined with the fascinating history of these coastal towns, made for an incredible journey. I had a great time and would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a unique and memorable adventure." - GetYourGuide traveller ( read more reviews )

I recommend checking the prices for this tour on both GetYourGuide and Viator . Although it’s the same tour, it will sometimes be cheaper on one booking site so it’s worth checking both!

You can book tickets on the group tour which leaves at 9am, 12pm, 3pm and 6pm daily, or you can book this as a private tour. Click the links below to check pricing and availability for each option.

10 Best Kotor Boat Tours

RATING: 5/5 (8+ reviews) | TOUR LENGTH: 5 hours | BOOK NOW

  • Rose fishing village

This private boat tour form Kotor is run by 5-star-rated guide, Ana Badnjar . The tour starts from Kotor, but since it’s a private tour you can start from anywhere.

The tour starts out with a fun speed boat ride through the bay to the Blue Cave. There, you can swim and snorkel in the cave’s blue waters. After swimming you cruise back into the Bay of Kotor.

The great thing about having a boat to yourself is you have plenty of space for sunbathing and this is the idea time, while you cruise towards the village of Rose.

Rose is a quaint and picturesque fishing village where you’ll stop for lunch after a quick stop at the old submarine base.

I recommend trying a local seafood dish like sea bass, calamari or buzara (seafood stew) with a glass of local wine (vranac if you like red wine, krstač) if you like white).

After lunch, you hop in the boat again and cruise to Our Lady of the Rocks. There, you have a guided tour through the church and museum. The church has incredible frescoes and the museum has exhibits from the local area that date back to the Bronze Age.

"Ana was a wonderful guide and she was very flexible with our itinerary making sure we got to see all the sights we were wanting to visit . The blue caves were definitely a highlight and on the way back Ana organized a beautiful platter of local food for us to sample at a nearby village. She was very knowledgeable about Kotor and even though we had limited time for our walking tour of the old city, it was very informative and enjoyable." - Bambi F., USA

After visiting Our Lady of the Rocks, you cruise back to Kotor , where you have a guided walking tour of the old town that includes top sights St Tryphon Cathedral and the Maritime Museum.

3. Boka Bay Day Cruise

10 Best Kotor Boat Tours

RATING: 4.8/5 ( 249+ reviews ) | TOUR LENGTH: 8 hours | BOOK NOW

  • Porto Montenegro

If you have a day to spend and want to take advantage of Montenegro’s gorgeous weather and sea, this full-day boat tour is for you. This tour takes you out on a spacious catamaran and it’s an amazing way to spend the day!

Although this Kotor boat tour starts in Kotor, you can arrange a pick up from Budva, Tivat or Kotor. From Kotor, you cruise along the Bay of Kotor coastline to Bijela, where you stop for swimming.

Next, you head along the Herceg Novi Riveriera to circle around Mamula Island and learn about the island’s history.

Then you sail along the Luštica Peninsula coast to the Blue Cave , where you can swim in and around the cave. This area has incredibly clear water, so bring a snorkel and mask!

"Start to finish the day was amazing. Everything we did exceeded our expectations. The boat was roomy and felt very stable with lots of places to lounge in the sun or seek refuge in the shade. Our guide Nina was just the best, by far and away, knowledgeable and funny." - GetYourGuide traveller ( read more reviews )

After swimming here, you cruise back into the bay and over to Porto Montenegro in Tivat.

Porto Montenegro is the world’s first platinum-rated marina and you can wander the piers to see the super yachts, have lunch at one of the restaurants and explore Tivat.

After that, you head back on the boat to Our Lady of the Rocks for a guided tour of the church and museum on the island and more swimming.

This is the perfect day out on a boat in the Bay of Kotor!

4. Perast Old Town and Our Lady of the Rocks Boat Tour

10 Best Kotor Boat Tours

RATING: 4.8/5 ( 167+ reviews ) | TOUR LENGTH: 2 hours | BOOK NOW

If you are short on time and want to go out on a boat, but don’t feel like swimming in the Blue Cave, this boat trip from Kotor to Perast is ideal.

At just 2 hours, you can see top sights, Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks , and still fit in a Kotor walking tour, even if you’re only in Kotor for a few hours. It’s a group tour and departs Kotor every two hours from Kotor City Park, opposite Kotor old town.

On this tour you cruise from Kotor along the coast to Our Lady of the Rocks island church. You can take a guided tour through the church and museum for a small fee. I highly recommend doing this because you learn so much about this area and its history as well as the 500-year-old church.

After visiting Our Lady of the Rocks, it’s a short trip in the speed boat to Perast. Perast is a known for its beautiful architecture, Baroque palaces and authentic atmosphere.

Perast was once the seat of wealth and power in the Bay of Kotor. A visit to the town museum will help you learn a lot about the Bay of Kotor and its history.

You can also climb the church spire or try an authentic seafood meal and wine at one of the seaside restaurants (the black risotto at Conte is my hubby's favourite!).

Whatever you do, Perast is a beautiful place to explore. The tour ends with a cruise back to Kotor.

"We booked this last minute whilst in Kotor. We had a morning free and decided to see Perast and Lady of the Rocks having decided against it before leaving. Pleased we did. My first time on a speedboat was an adventure and our guide was very personable and had some great 90s tunes playing. He was very knowledgeable about the area of Perast and Lady of the Rocks. The trip itself took two hours and still had a relaxed feel about it. Very enjoyable morning." - GetYourGuide traveller ( read more reviews )

This tour has both group tour and private tour options and it's available on both GetYourGuide and Viator . I recommend checking both sites to get the best price!

In contrast to Perast and its history, Tivat is a modern and vibrant town that’s home to Porto Montenegro, a luxury super yacht marina. You have free time here to admire the yachts, grab a bite to eat and shop in the boutiques.

After your time in Porto Montenegro, you take a relaxing cruise back through the bay to Kotor, where the tour finishes with a walking tour of Kotor old town that includes both St Tryphon Cathedral and the Maritime Museum.

8. 4-Hour Private Kotor Bay Boat Tour with Lunch and Wine Taste

Best Kotor Boat Tours

RATING: 5/5 ( 13+ reviews ) | DURATION: 4.5 hours | BOOK NOW

  • Lunch of fresh mussels

This tour is ideal for seeing the top sights of the Bay of Kotor and experiencing the bay’s local cuisine.

This private boat tour takes you from Kotor to Our Lady of the Rocks for a guided tour through the island’s church and museum. Then you cruise through the bay and past Mamula Island to the Blue Cave , where you can swim in the sea cave. And because this is a private tour, you can stop and swim anywhere you like!

After swimming in the cave, you cruise back through Kotor Bay to Perast for a visit of the Baroque town.

Then you head to Ljuta, a pretty hamlet just outside of Kotor, for a traditional lunch of mussel buzara and wine. Buzara is a traditional dish in the Bay of Kotor. It’s a seafood stew made with onions, garlic, wine and tomatoes. You can make it with any kind seafood, but most people make it with mussels.

If you don’t take this boat trip but would still love to try buzara , I recommend trying it at Konoba Ribar in Kostanjica in the Bay of Kotor.

After lunch, you return to Kotor on the boat.

"This was one of the best excursions that our family participated in during our mediterranean cruise. Marco was our boat captain. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to all of the important sights around Kotor and far outside the bay. The water was beautiful. The mussel farm was so fun, authentic, and delicious. We would do this trip again and recommend it to others!" - Melinda K. ( read more reviews ).

9. Mrs Zora’s Yummy Oysters

Best Kotor Boat Tours

Keeping with the theme of the Bay of Kotor cuisine, this private speed boat tour takes you to top attractions Our Lady of the Rocks , Kotor , Porto Montenegro and a traditional oyster farm.

This tour starts with a speed boat trip to Our Lady of the Rocks, the island church and museum. After a walking tour of both you head over to glamourous marina, Porto Montenegro, to see the super yachts and modern village.

After a walk here you head over to Mrs Zora's to try the flavours of coastal Montenegro: mussels, oysters, prosciutto, cheese and homemade wine.

Your day ends with a walking tour around Kotor's ancient streets that includes St Tryphon Cathedral and the Maritime Museum.

This tour is a fantastic way to experience the essence of the Bay of Kotor: its history, future, connection to the sea and cuisine!

Tips for Kotor Boat Tours

  • If you’re taking a tour that includes swimming, wear your swimsuit. Most boats (except the catamaran used on the Boka Bay Cruise) don’t have bathrooms or anywhere to change. Wearing your swimsuit at the start of the tour will save you from trying to awkwardly get changed in front of your fellow passengers!
  • Bring a towel
  • Bring goggles or a snorkel and mask (if you have them). The water in the Bay of Kotor and around the Blue Cave is very clear. If you have goggles or a snorkel and mask  you’ll be able to see fish, starfish and sea urchins!
  • Bring warmer layers, even if it’s hot. The wind chill on a speed boat can make you feel cold, even on the hottest days, especially if you’re wet from swimming. Bring a long-sleeved top to keep yourself warm
  • Bring sunscreen and a sun hat. You might be in the direct sun on the boat, so sunscreen and a sunhat are a must!

The ultimate guide to sailing Kotor

Whether you’re looking to relax on the beaches or eager to go sailing, Kotor has something for you!

The municipality of Kotor is located at Boka Kotorska bay, in Montenegro. Its old town is a listed UNESCO World Heritage site, which already gives it a must-visit status. The bay in Kotor is renowned as the deepest natural fjord in the Mediterranean, and you can rent a boat in Montenegro to explore its spectacular scenery.

The city has four Gates - the Main Gate, the North Gate, the South Gate, and New Gate. Visitors love Kotor yacht rentals during vacations because of its quiet and intimate location.

Getting Around Kotor

Before you rent a boat in Kotor to explore the water, check out what the town has in store for you: since Kotor is a small island, every part of it is accessible within walking distance, and once you enter the old town through any of the three gates, you come across narrow lanes between stone houses.

Kotor has magnificent churches scattered all around. St Tryphon's Cathedral, located in Old Town, is a medieval church featuring Romanesque-Gothic architecture. It holds the remains of St. Tryphon, the patron saint of Kotor. St Nicholas Church is the biggest Orthodox church in Kotor, and is well worth a visit. The Maritime Museum can also be found in Old Town. The museum displays photographs, uniforms, weapons, paintings, and model ships centered around the history of Kotor.

The Castle of San Giovanni is an abandoned castle and one of the highest points in Kotor. The castle offers spectacular views of Oldtown and the Bay of Kotor with yacht charters in Kotor.

There are many hilltop fortifications for adventure lovers, with the central fortification in Old Town stretching 4.5 km directly above the city. If you can climb all 1350 steps to the top of the cliffs, you get a splendid view of Kotor bay and sailboat charters in Kotor, Montenegro sailing there.

In the bay, you will see the twin islands of Sveti Djordje and Gospa od Skrpjela. They are accessible by boat, so make sure you rent a boat in Kotor to check them out. These Kotor sailboat rental boats are just outside the old town main gate.

Eating and Shopping in Kotor

The Old town has many boutiques lined around its narrow streets. You can shop for exotic gifts and souvenirs to take back home with you. There is also an open market outside the old town. Here, you can get supplies like fresh vegetables, fruits, and so on.

When you visit the market, try the local smoked ham (njeguški pršut) and cheese (njeguški sir). There are also many classy restaurants in Kotor, offering various fresh seafood and national cuisines. You can order fast food, pizzas, barbecue, and more. The market outside the town also sells snacks and hamburgers.

Beaches in Kotor

Sailing Kotor, Montenegro, can be such a rewarding experience for visitors if you know where to look. Let’s see what are some of the best beaches to explore in your Kotor boat rentals.

Along the Budva Riviera, you will see the twin beaches of Mogren. each stretching over 400 meters, and connected by a cave tunnel within walking distance. The beach is a peaceful getaway from the busy bay, so get the catamaran rentals in Montenegro to explore them.

Jaz beach is another fine beach along Montenegro's Budva Riviera. It is not far from Budva and has something for every visitor. You can sunbathe on the sand and relax, dive in the blue Adriatic Sea, go fishing or just sail in the Montenegro sailboat charters available upon request.

The islet of Sveti Stefan goes along the Adriatic coast. It has a spectacular coastline and breathtaking backdrop of oceans and waves. The water is crystal clear and has a shade of turquoise, and it’s surrounded by pine trees and mountains. All these make renting party boats in Kotor to this beach well worth it.

Kamenovo Beach is located near the bay on the Adriatic Sea. It features lush vegetation and sand pebbles. There is space for lounging and sunbathing, including volleyball courts, showers, changing rooms, and a playground for the kids. There is also a beach bar, restaurants, music, live bands, and much more; take the boat rentals in Kotor to see all of it in Kamenovo.

Hire a boat in Kotor, Montenegro, to the famous Bečići Beach, which has a perfectly balanced aura of fun and relaxation.

Nearby Tivat is a beloved tourist destination because of its beautiful beaches. Tourists in their Tivat boat rental enjoy swimming and participating in water sports like skiing, sailing, and canoeing, among other perks. The beaches feature sunny and airy promenades, with warm sun all day long. The Tivat Riviera has several nicely arranged beaches to explore in your Tivat catamaran charters . Amenities include beach bars, terraces, restaurants, mini vacation areas, playgrounds, and much more.

The Plavi Horizonti beach is the most attractive and scenic beach on the Montenegrin coast. Its stunning backdrop features plateaus on the rocks, which shelter the beach from the winds. There are also parks and a pine forest, ideal for camping. The water is lovely, and available sailboat rentals in Tivat take you on a tour of the coast.

Rent a boat in Herceg Novi to The Mud Beach Igalo in Sutorina. This public beach is the largest in the area, with a notable sandy build. The beach is perfect for family vacations, with a playground, deck chairs, a restaurant, and lots of fun amenities.

Begin your adventure to Kotor

Rimmed by rugged limestone mountains and sleepy waterside villages, Kotor Bay is a 28-kilometer-long meandering inlet. We are sometimes referred to as Europe’s southernmost fjord, though it is a submerged river valley. We took a Sailing Kotor Bay, Montenegro trip to find out more.

Kotor Bay | Porto Montenegro marina in Tivat

Kotor Bay in Montenegro. The Adriatic Sea - Yacht Charter In The Mediterranean

We set sail from Porto Montenegro , a 450-berth super-yacht marina in Tivat. Besides the moorings, it’s home to the Regent Porto Montenegro hotel, chic boutiques, and a magnificent 64-meter infinity pool. There’s also a tiny Maritime Heritage Museum, where you can look inside a submarine.

Luštica peninsular

From here, most visitors head straight for Unesco-listed Kotor Town, protected by medieval fortifications deep inside the bay. But we wanted to explore the less-visited waters around Luštica peninsular. Historically, Luštica’s fertile olive groves supplied olive oil to Venice. Under Yugoslavia (1945-2003), it was a Yugoslav military base, so tourism never developed here. But that is changing fast, as several luxury resorts are now planned.

Mamula Fortress

We sailed out of Kotor Bay into the glistening blue Adriatic. The mouth of the bay is guarded by three sturdy 19th-century fortresses built by Austro-Hungary. Arza on Luštica, Oštro on Prevlaka, and between them, on a tiny islet, Mamula, which is currently under renovation. With its unique location, Mamula Fortress is being turned into a 23-room boutique hotel with a spa, heliport, and casino.

Luštica’s south coast gives onto open waters dotted with several peaceful little coves. The first you come to is Dobreč. Indeed it has a pebble beach, accessible only by boat, and the Dobreč restaurant is backed by trees hung with hammocks. Here we dropped anchor to swim in a translucent turquoise sea.

But we couldn’t stop long. We wanted to reach the Blue Cave around noon when the sun was at its peak. It’s hidden at the foot of rocky cliffs; it can be accessed via two openings. In the dinghy, we passed through the larger entrance, some 3 meters high and 15 meters wide. Initially, it seemed dark, but as our eyes adjusted, we found ourselves in a domed space bathed in turquoise light. It was an extraordinary experience to snorkel in this magical cavern.

Mirišta beach

We backtracked to Mirišta beach, where we moored up for lunch at Mirišta restaurant . Garlicky Spaghetti with clams, followed by grilled seabream and salad. Nearby, Ribarsko Selo is also very popular with yachters, but you must reserve well in advance.

Savina winery

Sailing back into Kotor Bay, we stopped in the little port below the town of Herceg Novi. We took a taxi up to the Serbian Orthodox Savina Monastery. It has a medieval and a larger 18th-century Baroque church; both hung with golden icons. Then we visited the Savina Winery to tour their vineyards and wine tasting. We bought two bottles to bring home – their white Chardonnay (2019) and red Merlot (2016). Both were prize winners at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2021. We arrived back at Porto Montenegro marina just before sunset.

Seize this unique opportunity to discover some of the famous views of Montenegro, sailing in carefree comfort on stunning Boka Bay .

Step aboard the glamourous Tahi -- a sailing catamaran docked at Kotor's pier. Your sightseeing cruise starts here, and you'll set out on the blue waters of Boka Bay, surrounded by dramatic high cliffs. You're headed across the bay to the famous area of the beautiful Baroque town of Perast and the magical islet of Our Lady of the Rocks with its pretty church.

The catamaran offers panoramic viewing of the islet which, according to legend, was created over the centuries by seamen who kept an ancient oath -- returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the bay, and, over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea.

Watch for the Porto Montenegro Marina -- the first luxury marina on the Adriatic. Step ashore at the Movida Restaurant & Lounge Club at the Solila Marina, where you can swim at beautiful Solila Beach or simply relax on a sunbed.

Finally, board a motorcoach for a pleasant drive back to the port.

Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Adriatic beaches are typically pebble beaches rather than sand.

Absolutely stunning and should be on everyone's "bucket list". Our private one-day tour was organised by Kotour Travel Agency. The one-day itinerary was packed with wonderful surprises including the Kotor Old Town, the Serpentine Road with its incredible views, Lovcen National Park & the Njegos Mausoleum, the beautiful town of Rijeka Crnojevic & the stunning Lake Skada views ... an absolute memorable day. The day was made even greater by our fantastic guide / driver, Luka, an absolute professional in every way ... probably one of the best guides we have had on our travels. Highly recommended. • HeinBloed 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Up to the mountains We booked an individual tour for our first visit to Kotor, Montenegro. Via connections, we got in touch with Mladen from Kotours and asked for an "Ambassador" tour: we should see everything in the limited time to come back to Montenegro and share with the entire world how good the tour and the agency was. Mladen selected an excellent tour guide for us, Miroslav, an off-season librarian. So he was pleased to close the gap between the former Yugoslavia and the separation of the single countries and learned a lot from while our experienced driver Damir moved us around through small narrow winding roads. Besides the usual tourist spot they said we had to go to (Island Church), we went up to the mountains to enjoy the beautiful view of Kotor Bay and the local ham and cheese, which were made by local farmers. We had a wonderful day and looking forward to another tour soon. Read more Written August 14, 2022

  • katienN6804JR 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Great whistlestop tour of Perast, Kotor and Budva if you have limited time This was a very good option if, like us, you have limited time in Montenegro and don't want to hire a car or deal with taxis and public transport to get to some of the most iconic sights along the coast. Communication with Mladan was incredibly smooth and fast. I was emailing him extremely late at night to arrange a tour two days later and getting immediate replies. Mili came to pick us up from the hotel and we proceeded to see Perast (absolutely beautiful - my favourite place), get a private boat to Our Lady of the Rocks, then on to Kotor Old Town and Budva for a late lunch. And finally a photo stop for Sveti Stefan before being dropped back at the hotel. If we were doing this independently, we would probably have split up the sights over a couple of days to spend a bit more time in each place - but this private tour was a very good compromise. Kotour Travel Agency is definitely recommended! Read more Written April 19, 2022
  • Cyndi C 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Discover a More Secluded & Spectacular Montenegro I simply ADORED everything about this tour! Mladen is friendly, engaging, entertaining, highly knowledgeable, easy to talk to, fun to spend time with, and a GREAT driver! Our perfect day included two national parks in Montenegro, the BEST lunch we ate the entire month of our visit, a private boat ride on the spectacular and serene Lake Skadar, wine tasting, drives up narrow, winding old roads - that we NEVER would have attempted on our own - where we captured the BEST possible photos! We ended our day with the most amazing pršut in a tiny town called Njeguški, followed by a splendid sunset over the Bay of Kotor. We never would have discovered all this on our own! Spend time with Mladen to learn more about Montenegro, and enjoy the sensational scenery less visited in his glorious country. I can’t imagine a better guide to help travelers discover Montenegro! Step away from the towns where the tourists overrun the Bay of Kotor, and get out to where the peaceful beauty of Montenegro can soothe your soul and feed your spirit. Shore Excursion Details

Boka bay catamaran sail & beach, kotor, montenegro.

kotor bay catamaran sail

Added to Favourites!

kotor bay catamaran sail

After departing from the pier in a sleek catamaran, you will soon be sailing across the heart of Boka Bay. The surrounding landscape is so wild and the cliffs so precipitous that the bay is often referred to as the southernmost fjord in Europe. It’s that stunningly beautiful.

In time, the ancient village of Perast will come into view. Like Kotor, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with extraordinary Venetian-style architecture and abundant Catholic churches. One of the most beautiful churches is Our Lady of the Rocks, which sits on a tiny island in the bay. As you circumnavigate the island, you can expect to hear the legend of how it was formed—supposedly by sailors who dropped rocks in the same spot every time they sailed by in honor of the image of the Virgin Mary being seen there.

Then it’s on to the exclusive Movida Beach Club, where you might stroll along the sea, take a refreshing swim in the typically calm waters and relax in a lounge chair under the shade of an umbrella. The scenery is just as impressive as the beach, and you will have plenty of time to soak it in before boarding a coach and driving back to the pier.
