Additional Prep/DMV Info

Dealer Engine Prep is required to validate the warranty and ensure a working engine. Prep includes completing a full Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) checklist, test-run performed in a tank for quality assurance, and re-crating for shipment. Outboards picked up in-store may be stand-alone and no longer in the box or crate.

Pre-Delivery Inspection

Pre-delivery Inspection is required to validate the warranty and includes the necessary services & products used on each new vessel to ensure quality performance prior to delivery.

For rigged vessels: Boat Specialists will install a deep cycle marine battery, rig all steering components, and complete an electrical and systems check. A full system check includes filling the motor with oil, fluids, and fuel, then a test run performed in a tank for quality assurance.

Once everything is tuned and prepared, a sea trial is performed to achieve the ideal RPM-to-top-speed ratio, ensuring the boat gets on plane properly and all systems operate on water. Afterward, full detail is performed on the exterior, deck, and hull to be turn-key ready for the customer.

DMV Registration On Boats and Trailers - For California Residents Only

Boat Specialists will take care of your CA DMV registration including signing a Power of Attorney for each registration. We will mail temporary paperwork with the documents that require the customer's signature. The customer is to sign and return the documents in the envelope provided. Once we have received the paperwork, we will submit all required documents to the DMV to complete registration.

As the E66 760Li V12 cars are launched, BMW Individual gives us their take on the top of the line BMW: the Yacht Line. BMW Individual specializes in building cars to the tastes of worldwide clientele, with top of the line materials and features not found on other BMW cars. The Yacht Line is a singular creation with a maritime theme and the car will look good at whichever marina the owner keeps his boat. The maritime theme is best seen in the interior of the vehicle. Mahogany wood with maple inserts was used throughout the cabin echoing the interiors of many luxurious sailing vessels. Look down at the Anthracite floor mats and you'll spot a stitched compass emblem. The Anthracite theme is carried over to the upper part of the car as the roof is also finished in Charcoal Anthracite Alcantara material. The steering wheel is done in two colors, Champagne and Black, while all leather, 16-way adjustable comfort seats with all the goodies such as heating and cooling are standard. The contrasting finish between the dark charcoal Alcantara and the Champagne leather further accentuates the uniqueness of this vehicle. On the outside, the Yacht line sports 20" wheel rims, clear turn signals and Shadowline trim replacing the 'standard' chrome finish of a 'standard' 7 series. Also exclusive to the the Yacht line is the exterior paint, Midnight Blue Metallic, reserved for BMW Individual use only. Also available is a humidor integrated into the front center arm rest, a rear seat cooler, workbenches for rear passengers as well as an intercom. DVD entertainment systems with two 6.5" monitors built into the rear seats is also available. The Yacht Line might be available starting in early 2003. How much? Interesting find Nate. :thumbup: Hmm I like those wheels on the E65, they aren't so heavy looking. Are all 760Li's going to be getting those, or are they just on the 'yacht package'? I haven't been following the E6* much. --SONET  

The exterior looks much cleaner without all the chrome. The wheels also look good. I like the interior color combo. The wood trim, well lets just say that fits into the nautical theme. The TV screens? I think its a cool idea in a car this price, but they look kind of goofy the way they are put in there. I'd have to see what that set up looks like in person to see if it "works". With that issue aside, I think it looks cool. I'm sure that will be one hell of a land yacht!  

Ack, what's with the fugly wheels? They have that same look the M-VSpokes have with the spoke centers just sitting on the center. And the LCD screen addon modules look like Quasimodo or something. And where do those 'picnic tables' fold into? BMW better get the tables back into the seatback on the new Roller where they're supposed to be.

Huh. So it *is* possible to make the E65's interior uglier. Learn something new every day. Am I the only one who thinks that a "Maritime" package with cream leather accents, weird wood paneling, and compass roses on the floormats would be more appropriate in a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII than a BMW? Seriously, this looks like the kind of package that guys with big guts and mullets who own Tier 2 automotive suppliers in Detroit order for their Lincolns/Cadillacs, not something offered by BMW. You know the guys; they're the ones who buy big Bayliner and Carver boats?  

Since when hasn't the 7 series had gadgets? :dunno: Hell, BMW was building luxury cars way before even the 2002 came out...

I like the wheels and the special paint. What the heck, it's a luxury car, they might as well put out a special edition with additional luxury content. However, I'm not sure I would call it the Yacht Line. I've never thought calling a car a "boat" was complimentary.

Full disclosure. I love all of Damen Yachting ’s newly rebranded Xplorer line of crossover superyachts that combine all the capabilities of an expedition yacht with all the over-the-top luxury of a more conventional yacht. I love the way they dare to be just a bit different too.

And now that the new, 262-foot-long (80 meter) Xplorer 80 has been introduced to the Xplorer range which already includes the 196-foot-long Xplorer 60 (meter), and the massive 344-foot-long Xplorer 105 (meter), it’s great to see the Damen Yachting team continue to innovate.

According to advance reports the concept was conceived with customization in mind while offering a number of configuration options to suit any lifestyle. Xplorer Design Manager Enrique Tintore explains, “The way the Xplorer has been designed allows for a high level of flexibility to suit any extreme environment or refined landscape. If a helicopter isn’t essential for you, we’ve got many other options for that space. Need a conference room or a seventh guest cabin? Or a separate gym and a high-spec laboratory? We can make that happen.”

The configuration options include everything from a below deck helicopter hangar, and large gym and wellness center, to a massive twin tender garage setup with a fully-equipped dive center. And for many who don’t require such serious heli-ops storage capability, the large aft area can be configured into wall-to-wall lounge and beach club too.

The flexibility in the design does not stop at configuration options. For the exterior design, Damen Yachting has once again partnered with Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture to further develop the Xplorer 80’s exterior lines. But the Dutch builder has also partnered up with a number of additional exterior and interior designers to provide a unique set of alternatives centered around the same base platform. For the exterior, alternative designs have been created by Espen Øino, Harrison Eidsgaard and Azure Yacht Design.

For the interior design concepts, Damen Yachting has partnered with London-based design studio Harrison Eidsgaard. The result is a custom designed for long-term and luxurious living. Known for their quality and personal attention to detail, the Harrison Eidsgaard team has developed a Manhattan loft-inspired space that encompasses how you like to explore and experience your passions. With refined details, smart storage and a warm ambience throughout, every step you take around this yacht has been considered. "This interior can cover every journey and any lifestyle - all you need to do is immerse yourself." Ben Harrison, co-founder of Harrison Eidsgaard. Alternative interior design concepts have also been provided by Winch Design and Reymond Langton Design.

Coinciding with the introduction of the Xplorer 80, Damen Yachting have also introduced their updated and modernized branding for their range of luxury explorers. Damen Yachting’s Marketing Manager Sarah Flavell explains. “We wanted to make the original SeaXplorer branding more relevant for today’s and tomorrow’s luxurious yet adventurous yachting needs. While the DNA within the Xplorer 80 proudly carries all of the original SeaXplorer key attributes, we wanted to update the way the brand was presented to better reflect the forward-thinking nature of this new 80-metre Xplorer. Super Yacht Line

Dyneema® SK99 + HPS + PU  Dyneema® SK99 delivers the highest tenacity available in a light weight polymer fiber. Indeed, compared to Dyneema® SK78, it shows a 20% increase on tenacity and a 35% higher modulus. Dyneema® SK99 appears thinner and lighter weight respect to ropes with the same diameter, but with a significant increase in strength, which entails an increase on performance and a better response of the boat. Other features: low water absorption, high UV resistance, minimal elongation and good flexibility.

Dyneema® SK78 + HPS + PU The High Modulus fiber Dyneema® SK78, characterized by a remarkable stability under constant loads, provides the following features: low creep, elevated breaking load, low elongation, light weight, low level of water absorption, high resistance to UV rays and abrasion, great flexibility, high resistance to cutting. The ropes made with Dyneema® SK78 + HPS + PU are therefore destined to extreme performances, especially during highly demanding regattas when the permanent load is continuously present.

Special treatments

Different special treatments may be applied to the braided cores and to the technical fibers to enhance their characteristics in terms of elongation, creep and resistance, and to obtain even better performance.

Black Technora® / Dyneema® The mixture of these fibres has been carefully studied to be fairly distributed in order to make them take advantage of their mutual characteristics, both in terms of durability and performance. Excellent results in order of smoothness, abrasion resistance and durability have been reached.

USO: Ideal for high fatigue manoeuvres and repeated mechanical stress, in particular where the wear of the cover is steadily present e.g. jib sheets, tacklines and staysail sheets.

Black Technora® / Dyneema® / Poliestere This item is suitable for many different boats and uses because of its excellent resistance to abrasion and to repeated bending. Compared to TEC/DYN covers, it is easer to customize thanks to the presence of Polyester and it even becomes more recognizable in the distinction of the different manoeuvres

USE: It’s simple to control and to release on winches. Ideal for jib and gennaker sheets, halyard and control lines.

Black Technora® / Poliestere It combines high level functional characteristics, with UV and abrasion resistance as well as a good grip. Thanks to the mixture among the Black Technora® and the different Polyester colours, the look is also winning

USE: This rope is used on monotypes, oceanic boats and on Super Yachts as sheets and halyards with a good grip and high chafe resistance.

Kevlar®/ Dyneema® / Poliestere It preserves similar characteristics as its sister-cover BTEC/ DYN/PET, but thanks to the high point of fusion of Kevlar® it is more suitable for high speed manoeuvres and load, where the ropes reach high temperatures. It holds one of the best grips but a lower UV resistance in comparison to Black Technora®, which is composed by special pigments that protract his life, despite of exposure to UV rays.

USE: Ideal for manoeuvres of high fatigue and cyclical mechanical stress e.g. jib sheets, tacklines and staysail sheets.

Cordura® / Poliestere This rope stands out for its lightness and perfect grip. It has been studied to obtain an excellent grip on stoppers and winches through the use of special anti-slip fibers.

USE: Excellent grip on stopper and winch. It can be chosen either as halyard, as sheet and for all control lines thanks to its soft and grip touch.

Poliestere It is the most used fiber on different types of boats thanks to its good resistance to UV rays and to abrasion and for its excellent durability to atmospheric agents. Moreover, it is easy to customize and ideal to diversify the different manoeuvres.

USE: Indicated for multiple uses: sheets, halyards and general running rigging.

“Captive” range

Exclusive treatment for Captive Winch ropes

Thanks to the cooperation with leader companies in the production of Captive Winch and the supply to prestigious Super Yachts, Armare has improved and reached high performance levels also in this range of products.

Captive Winch products preserve high breaking loads and low elongation thanks to the use of high modulus fibres.

Moreover, they hold the essential characteristics necessary to grant the good working of a Captive Winch System like flexibility, a steady shape, no sliding between core and cover, high abrasion resistance and excellent behaviour between sliding and grip on drums.

“We are thrilled to collaborate once again with Red Yacht Design on the creation of the Aluna 92,” FDC Yachts director Eyup Ozbelen said in a statement. “Together, we aim to deliver a yacht that not only exceeds expectations but also redefines the very essence of luxury on the water.”

FDC says the Aluna 92 will be the first yacht in its class capable of accommodating helicopters. The vessel features a large touch-and-go helipad on the aft deck that can welcome large choppers capable of carrying up to four passengers, meaning that it can facilitate far more elevated comings and goings than its competitors. The aft deck is also equipped with a large lounge and an alfresco dining area for open-air soirees.

Other exterior highlights include a sprawling sundeck adorned with sunbeds and an expandable beach club with direct ocean access. FDC has also opted to include see-through bulwarks on some exterior decks to provide seafarers with panoramic ocean views.

The interior is equally as spacious and luxurious. The generous cabins can sleep up to eight guests, with the lavish full-beam owner’s suite transforming into separate cabins if additional accommodations are required. Such flexibility renders the Aluna 92 suitable for charter.

“We are confident that the Aluna 92 will exceed the expectations of even the most discerning yachtsmen,” added managing partner of Red Yacht Design Faith Surekli.

FDC says construction on the first Aluna 92 is scheduled to commence by the end of this summer.
