N.P. Kornati islands

With 35 kilometres (22 miles) length and 140 islands, some large, some small. The Kornati are the densest archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. There are no permanent settlements in Kornati. Simple houses in well-protected coves.

A tiny island off the coast of Vis, with beautiful arched inlets. You can anchor up and feel very special not to be surrounded by a thousand other boats. The water is incredibly blue and very deep; great for diving.

The island was once home to some 7.000 residents. Today number is at around 450, people still take care of the olive trees that made this island famous. It’s precisely because of these plants that Sipan entered the Guinness Book of Records as the island with the largest number of olive trees relative to its size.

Skradin is a romantic Mediterranean town with narrow paved streets, passages, vaults and stairs. The entire town core represents a protected cultural monument. It contains houses dating from the 18th and 19th century which are stuccoed inthe manner typical for Venice and areas under her influence.

Lokrum is home to an idyllic little salt-filled lake linked to the open sea. Like its namesake, the island’s Dead Sea (Mrtvo more) is popular for how easy it is to swim in. The lake is 10 meters deep, and is located on the southern part of the island.

Gospe od Skrpjela

Montenegro. According to legend, the islet was made over the centuries by local seamen who kept an ancient oath after finding the icon of Madonna and Child on the rock in the sea on July 22, 1452. Upon returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the Bay.

Dubrovnik aristocracy sailed to Lopud for weekend breaks back in the 17th century. But only recently has Lopud been rediscovered as a place to play at Robinson Crusoe while keeping close enough to the city for cultural daytrips. Car-free, certainly carefree, this tiny island - less than five kilometers square and just 200 residents.

Cavtat gave many seamen and ship captains during the period of the Ragusan Republic. One of the most famous Croatian painters, Vlaho Bukovac, was from Cavtat and his house was turned into a museum and a gallery.

Montenegro. The old Mediterranean port of Kotor is surrounded by fortifications built during the Venetian period. It is located on the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea. Some have called it the southern-most fjord in Europe, but it is a ria, a submerged river canyon.

Guests love to join the crew and give a hand during the sailing, and many have learned sailing essentials during their vacation on Fortuna.

Mirna Toric is our host and stewardess on board. She will take care of all the details and coordinate food and service to the table, as well as all the neat details from housekeeping to special event organizations. You can turn to Mirna with confidence and be sure she will keep your yacht just the way you expect. Your children and teenagers will have a special treatment, from food to entertainment.

Our chef Ante works on Fortuna for three years. Ante has specialties in Mediterranean cousin. Our guests are delighted with meals and Ante's special receipts are generously spreading around the globe!

Stjepan Ivan Toric

Born 30.12.1996 in Zadar. Stjepan graduated the Naval High School 2015, and went on to study at the Maritime University in Zadar. Currently acquiring the title as the youngest crew member he exemplifies excellent naval skills.

Gulet Fortuna is 33 meters long yacht that will astonish you with her excellent sailing performances that are an amazing addition to your cruising vacations in Croatia. Her sails are functional and her crew will provide you with smooth sailing with no sound of engine. You can always give them a hand in their performances or just relax and enjoy. Gulet Fortuna has been completely refitted and improved for the season 2016. in order to provide higher standards of accommodation. She can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 7 cabins. Being a large yacht, her decks provide plenty of space for outdoor living. Gulet Fortuna has 4 professional crew members: Captain, chef, hostess, deckhand. They are all very attentive and discrete, but always at your service.

Port and Tourist Taxes

PORT TAXES: Port fees, anchorages, and Tourist taxes are to be paid on spot (in cash), according to actual costs in ports/anchors. The total cost per week depends on the selected itinerary/port costs. It is not obligatory for the yacht to be in the port each night, it can also be anchored, which lowers the mooring fees (approximate cost is between 1.130 – 1.350 Euro/week). In the case of the large consumption of water or fuel during the cruise yacht should go to the port to refill.

Private Marinas:

If a client wishes to use private marinas the costs can vary from 300 and up to 800 €/night.
It is customary to tip from 5% to 10% from charter price, according to satisfaction.

Additional Motorized Water Sports:

Fortuna has water skiing and Ringo ride which is charged 100 €/hour according to clients usage.

Other Options on request:

Land transfers, fishing licenses, guided tours, excursions, restaurants, bike rentals, car rentals.

How does the charter agreement work?

Once your chosen yacht has been confirmed, we will send you a standard MYBA or Goolets charter agreement that needs to be signed. If your chosen cruise route requires a different embarking or disembarking place other than the yacht's central harbor, delivery/redelivery fees may apply.

What are the payment terms?

After signing the MYBA or Goolets charter agreement, a deposit of 50% of the total charter cost is required. You can pay the fee via bank transfer or credit card (only Visa or MasterCard). The other 50%, an Advance Provisioning Allowance (if applicable), taxes, positioning fees, and any previously agreed charges are payable via bank transfer eight weeks before departure.

What are the actual operating expenses?

Once you made the final payment of the charter, you pay the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). Under MYBA terms, this fee is usually between 30% - 40% of the total charter cost.

This covers the operating expenses of a charter (explained under Charter Terms), such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees, and ad hoc incidentals. The APA is given to the captain before the start of your charter. Some yachts and gulets also offer food/drinks packages which are normally paid in cash during embarkation, while the port taxes are paid during embarkation according to the costs presented by the captain. The Captain ensures that the yacht is fully fuelled and stocked when you step on board.

While an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end of the cruise.

In case of surpassing the amount of money already paid during your yacht charter (with the APA), additional funds (in cash) will be required at once. If there is an outstanding balance from the yacht charter, it should be settled in cash or by bank transfer before you disembark. In case of a remaining credit at the end of your charter, you will be fully reimbursed.

If a transfer by car to and from the yacht is required, it can be arranged either by the charter company or by the yacht’s captain, payment for which will be deducted from your APA.

How can we make your yacht charter personalized?

To ensure a unique and tailor-made charter experience, we will send you a detailed questionnaire eight weeks before you embark on your yacht. You can tell us your group's preferences and special requirements, such as dietary or medical needs, any particular wishes regarding exercise, entertainment, or if you are celebrating a special occasion.

Are internet and satellite TV connections available onboard?

In case you really need to get some work done during your vacation, no worries. On most yachts, there is mobile broadband internet and satellite TV, so you will stay connected to the rest of the world. Just keep in mind that the service can be limited in some areas (you are in the middle of the sea after all). If you anticipate regular usage of the internet, let us know prior to embarking, as upgrades might be subject to availability and additional fees may apply.

Is smoking allowed onboard?

Smoking is permitted only on the outside decks, and on some yachts, only in dedicated outdoor areas. Please consult our charter brokers for more information. For safety reasons, smoking indoors is strictly prohibited on all yachts.

Are tips for the crew mandatory?

Even though tips are not mandatory, the guests normally extend a gratuity to the devoted crew. The amount depends on the guest's satisfaction, but it is approximately 10% of the charter fee. The tips are equally distributed among all crew members by the captain.

Should I get any insurance?

In case of unforeseen circumstances that might prevent the charter, we highly recommend taking out the Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance to protect the investment. Besides that, the guests should be covered by Personal Accident and Medical Insurance, and their belongings are insured against theft, loss, or damage. Charterers’ Liability insurance is also highly recommended. Contact your broker for further assistance and additional advice regarding the insurance.

How are the charter rates calculated?

Charter rates are estimated weekly. If a charter exceeds seven days, they are calculated pro-rata against the weekly rate divided by seven and multiplied by the number of charter days. Keep in mind that some yachts are only chartered on a weekly (Saturday-Saturday or Sunday-Sunday) basis, especially during the high season.

High and low season rates vary depending on charter locations and types of yachts. The high rates apply to the most popular charter periods (July/August and Christmas/New Year), and to all major events. Low season rates apply to all other periods.

What are the charter terms?

Most charter rates are based on MYBA Terms, which entail that the yacht is in full commission, with all necessary equipment, properly insured for marine risks, and managed by a crew, whose wages, food, and clothing are the owner’s expense.

All other operating expenses are charged to the charterer and include (but are not limited to): fuel and lubricating oils for the yacht and her tenders; local taxes; pilotage; port, harbor, and marina dues; customs clearance; water and power; personal laundry; all provisions, wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks and consumables for the charterer’s group; shoreside excursions, telecommunication, and internet costs.

Please note that, occasionally, a yacht may offer an alteration on the terms described above. For further information about specific yachts, consult your broker.

Do any other taxes apply?

For charters in European waters, Value Added Tax and delivery costs may be charged on the gross Charter Fee, due to the European Union tax legislation. In other countries, local taxes may also apply. Depending on your chosen charter destination, our brokers will provide any prevalent rates.

Tonči Torić

Captain – owner.

Captain Tonči Torić has been a keen sailor for more than 30 years. Experience that he gathered during these years gives him confidence to bring the yacht to any small bay at night, or to sail even in rough weather.

So, you will for sure feel you are in safe hands from the first moment you step aboard. Tonči speaks some English, but his sailing skills speak all languages.

Guests love to join him and the crew and give hand during the sailing, and many of them have learned sailing essentials during their vacation on Fortuna.

Together with his family Tonči has been sailing on Fortuna for about decade now, and together they have built a very good reputation for their work and commitment.

Mirna Torić

Chef – owner.

Mirna Torić was working as a host and stewardess on Fortuna for many years, but in the last few seasons she started cooking for their guests and the feedback was superb.

Clients loved Mirna in her new role and enjoyed her culinary skills. While preparing your meals she will take care of all the little details making sure all your requirements and wishes are fulfilled and easily coordinate food and service to the table.

Do not worry, your children and teenagers will have a special treatment, as Mirna has an individual approach to each guest and his eventual special needs.

Stjepan Torić

Born in 1996 in Zadar. Stjepan graduated the Naval High School 2015, and went on to study at the Maritime University in Zadar. Currently holds the title as the youngest crew member, he exemplifies excellent naval skills.

He is very enthusiastic and willing to learn, all in order to one day take over helm himself. Stjepan will be at your service with a smile all the time, taking care of all the “fun stuff on board”, from waterski and water sports.

He will also drive you around with tender for all your outings, shopping, stroll around small villages or a night life, while the yacht stays in quiet bay away from crowded beaches and resorts.

Anđela Torić

Born in 1999 in Zadar, Anđela finished high school in her home town and just after high school she started working as waitress in cafes and restaurants so she has a plenty experience in working with people.

She loves the sea and sailing is in her blood, so opportunity to work on a gullet is her dream come true. She also enjoys fishing, so she can give you some fishing instructions. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and meeting new people.

Being very cheerful person, she is right for her job and you will feel like nothing is to hard for her as she will do everything with a smile on her face.

She will take care of all the little details during your charter from housekeeping to special event organizations so you can have relaxed holiday.

Fortuna (Croatia) Gulet is 33 meters in length with spacious cabins, a large deck and saloon are designed for your comfort. There are 4 Double cabins, 3 Twin cabins, and each cabin has a private shower and toilet. All the yacht including cabins are air-conditioned. There is a TV, DVD and music system in the saloon..

On the rear deck, there is a spacious cushioned seating area, dining table, and dining area. The salon has a separate dining table and your meals are prepared in a fully equipped separate kitchen. Fortuna (Croatia) Gulet has enough sunbathing cushions for all guests.

Gulet Fortuna (Croatia) is crewed by 4 people to meet all the needs of guests. A professional crew is committed to the safety and comfort of the guests. The organization of daily activities is its responsibility, as are all meals and drinks. Safety, cleaning and other services are all the responsibility of the highly professional crew. It has its own separate accommodation and bathroom departments independent of guests.

The saloon area offers an elegant dining space and panoramic windows that frame the breathtaking vistas. An expansive open deck area invites guests to sunbathe in the Mediterranean warmth or find a quiet place in shaded corners. At the front of the yacht guests can enjoy a comfortable lounge and dining area with two tables, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a morning coffee or a sunset cocktail. Forward on the yacht, a sunbathing area is equipped with generous sunbeds, allowing guests to absorb the warming Croatian sunshine in supreme comfort. To provide shade, both the bow living area and the sundeck can be covered with a bimini, ensuring an enjoyable outdoor experience in any weather.

Croatia always captivates visitors with its stunning beauty, lush landscapes, rich history, vibrant culture and irresistable Mediterranean cuisine. The local crew of four add a personal touch to your voyage, and they are always keen to share their extensive knowledge of the Dalmatian coast. In the galley, the skilled chef crafts Croatian and international culinary delights, ensuring that your dining experiences are a highlight of your time on the yacht. The surrounding azure Adriatic waters provide the perfect playground for adventure enthusiasts, and Fortuna offers an array of water sports including water skiing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkelling.

Gulet FORTUNA, based in Split, at 33 meters long can accommodate up to 12 guests and has a crew of 4 who sleep in their own accommodation. With large deck space for relaxing and eating al fresco. The boat also sails, so you can cruise the Dalmatian islands in silence without the noise of engines in the background. She will astonish you with her excellent sailing performances that are an amazing addition to your cruising vacations in Croatia. You can always give them a hand in their performances or just relax and enjoy. Gulet FORTUNA has been completely refitted and improved for the season 2016. in order to provide higher standards of accommodation. She can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. Being a large yacht, her decks provide plenty of space for outdoor living. Gulet Fortuna has 4 professional crew members: Captain, chef, hostess, deckhand. They are all very attentive and discrete, but always at your service.

Charter price includes

The crew (specified above), water, electricity, clean bed linen, clean shower and sunbathing towels (changed at least twice a week), a free welcome drink, fuel for 4 hours cruising a day (which is usually more than enough), Wi-Fi Internet connection, personal injury insurance while on the boat, and free use of onboard equipment specified above.

Charter price doesn't include

Harbour fees (see above for estimate of cost, which can be reduced by anchoring outside the ports on some nights), meals & other drinks aboard (specified above), transfers between the airport and boat, National Park entrance fees and tips to the crew.

Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) is a percentage of the charter price to be paid in advance to cover your expenses during the cruise, such as meals, drinks, harbour fees, etc. The APA is held on account on your behalf and at the end of the week the total of all your expenses will be deducted and the balance will be refunded to you (it does not include tips to the crew, which need to be paid separately). Not all boats ask for an APA (see above) but ask for meals and all-inclusive drinks to be paid on arrival and harbour fees to be paid locally as you arrive in each port.

The boats' charter season is usually from the beginning of May to the end of October and this is usually divided into 3 price periods, with Low Season usually comprising May & October, Mid Season usually comprising June & September, and High Season usually comprising July & August. Some boats, however, can have as few as 2 different pricing periods and some as many as 4 or even 5, and the dates for these can vary, so if you are confused, which is understandable, please don't hesitate to

Croatia gulet Fortuna with the Toric Family

On a hot sunny afternoon, at anchor in Kaštela Bay, just outside Split, Fortuna (33m/108ft) cuts an elegant figure, with her two towering masts silhouetted against the rocky heights of Kozjak mountain . Onboard, I was greeted by Mirna and Tonči and their children, Stipe and Kate. We sit around the spacious dining table on the shaded aft deck. Kate makes us good, strong espresso coffees and passes around a platter of chocolate treats. Although the sea is a little choppy, Fortuna has a deep hull, making her very stable.

Croatia Gulet Fortuna | The Family

The Torić family lives on the tiny pine-scented island of Vrgada (population 249) on the edge of Kornati National Park, midway between Zadar and Šibenik. Mirna and Tonči have worked with boats for over 20 years, and Stipe and Kate have sailed since they were tiny. How did the family get into the charter business? “One day, we were in Sukošan marina and by chance saw a gulet with a ‘For Sale sign,” says Mirna with a smile. “We bought it, and we had it ready for sailing in one month.”

As a family, they create a relaxed but competent team. Tonči is captain, and Stipe (a Naval Engineering graduate who has worked on international tankers) is deckhand. This summer, Mirna will be the chef, and Kate (studying to be a nurse) will be a stewardess.

Fortuna | The Guest Experience

When they book, guests send us a preference list, about the sorts of places they like, food intolerances and so on, so we can plan,” explains Mirna. “We offer half-board. A full breakfast spread – platters of fresh fruit, yogurts, eggs, croissants, and more. And a three-course Dalmatian lunch, usually at anchor in a bay. At dinner, guests eat out”. Mirna Toric

The Torić will give you a true insider’s view of Dalmatia. “Besides being crew, we’re tour guides; we want you to see how we live on the islands,” says Stipe. “By boat, you can find hidden beaches and enjoy the privilege of swimming without crowds. Here you’re literally in a giant natural translucent blue pool with no chemicals. You can see the seabed 100 feet below you”.

Croatia Gulet Fortuna | Inside and Out

Mirna shows me inside. The saloon has a bar and indoor dining space in case it rains. Down below, the six cozy cabins are a mix of doubles and twins. They have comfy beds, mahogany wardrobes, blue-and-white bed linens, and small windows opening onto azure Dalmatian skies. En-suite bathrooms come with a shower and hairdryer. Up top, the teak deck has generous sunbathing space with mattresses and seating on the prow, ideal for sunset drinks. With her sails up, billowing in the wind, Fortuna can cruise at 6 knots (7mph).

Dalmatia Sailing Routes

After my visit, Fortuna will be sailing from Split to Dubrovnik , with stops on Hvar, Vis, and Korčula along the way. They will tailor the itinerary and activities to suit the group aboard. Besides cultural sightseeing, they’ll occasionally drop anchor in secluded bays, nap, swim, and enjoy Fortuna’s water toys. These include stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), a tandem kayak, an inflatable doughnut tube, a banana float, and snorkeling gear. “We want guests to appreciate freedom, to forget about the time of day, to relax, discover, and enjoy,” concludes Stipe.

Gulet Fortuna is an outstanding yacht with exceptional architecture, efficiency, and comfort. Launched in 1994 and completely refurbished in 2015, it has been designed to satisfy the most demanding yachtsmen. It is the perfect selection for those looking for a relaxing and luxurious holiday in Croatia. This incredible yacht can accommodate up to 14 guests thanks to its seven stunningly decorated cabins (4 double-bed cabins and three twin-bed cabins). The cabins have air conditioning and are equipped with a private bathroom and a sound system. The main living room is spacious, with a comfortable sitting area and a bar’s dining area. Gulet Fortuna has a wide deck with two tables and a large sundeck with pads and mattresses to enjoy the Mediterranean sun, the stunning views of the Adriatic coast, and al-fresco dining for all our guests. The canopy will cover both the sundeck and the seating area, offering our guests refreshments under the shade. There is also an outdoor stern lounge with a 14-person dining table where you can enjoy a selection of fresh local delicacies prepared by the on-board chef in the gulet’s galley. Apart from the cook, the crew consists of two other members; the captain and the hostess (on request), who ensure comfort and high-quality service during your stay on board.

The gulet also provides a wide range of facilities, such as tender equipment, outboard motors, canoes, water skis, snorkeling equipment, and fishing gear. Gulet Fortuna is planned to sail comfortably along the Adriatic coast, from Croatia to Montenegro, offering maximum comfort and a comfortable sprint. Suitable for large or small groups, this excellent gulet provides its guests the opportunity to enjoy a lively sailing holiday and enjoy busy ports and charming fishing villages while sailing on one of Croatia’s most beautiful charter gulets.
