Indulge In The High Life At Singapore Yacht Show 2023

Indulge In The High Life At Singapore Yacht Show 2023

by Vishal Jain | Dec 28, 2022

The Singapore Yacht Show is back for its 10th edition from 27-30 April 2023, the first show since 2019, with Singapore being a prominent destination for many in…

Singapore is once again ready to set sail with the Singapore Yacht Show as it returns for its 10th edition from 27-30 April 2023 . This will be their first show since 2019 when South East Asia was last able to come down and join the festivities. With Singapore being a prominent port of call for many in Asia, Singapore Yacht Show is an event to be noticed by avid sailors and luxury lifestyle lovers.

With ten editions of the Singapore Yacht Show held so far, this edition promises to be grand both on land and sea – with a varied selection of yachts alongside exciting activities such as superyacht cruising, yacht chartering, watersports and much more.

The importance of South East Asia as a cruising destination

South East Asia is often considered the most pristine yachting destination, offering sailors incredible sights and experiences as they make their way through the different islands. The marine landscape within South East Asia alone offers 27,000 islands for superyachts to cruise, charter and partake in activities one could only dream of. Yacht manufacturers, retailers and brokers have noticed the continuing influx of large yachts here, with rising interest from Asian buyers to buy and charter.

With such a large number of islands dispersed throughout the region, ranging from black sand beaches and lush rainforests to bustling cities and secluded coves, it’s no wonder that the next decade of cruising belongs to this corner of Asia. From Thailand and Vietnam to Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines – South East Asia offers yacht cruisers an incredible range of experiences which meet their every desire.

The rise of the yachting culture in Asia

Yachting events around the region are set to surge in 2023 as plans are being made for two sister international Yacht Shows, Thailand Yacht Show and Hong Kong Yacht Show , while Singapore is readying itself to host SailGP, the region’s first professional sailing event. The Yacht Shows will be pivotal in showcasing some of the most extravagant yachting vessels and services across Asia-Pacific.

View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Singapore Yacht Show (@singyachtshow)

Yachting destinations in Asia are not limited to the South China Sea or the Indian Ocean; the Red Sea coastline off Saudi Arabia is seeing a surge in development and popularity. With its distinctive turquoise waters and coral reefs, adventurers looking for a new and unforgettable exploration journey will find themselves satisfied at this unique destination.

Sindalah is actively reimagining what yachting & luxury travel culture can be at the Red Sea, with a glamorous calendar of exciting year-round events centred around cultural and musical activities. Yacht enthusiasts worldwide will flock to participate in this stimulating and beautiful experience, which will quickly become one of the continent’s luxurious yachting destinations.

Singapore Yacht Show at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove

The Singapore Yacht Show will be held at the recently upgraded ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove . With the same number of berths available in its original 272 capacity, the marina has been able to double its superyacht capacity, making it a suitable dock for bigger yachts. Beyond hosting ships, the marina also offers an array of onshore amenities, from a diverse selection of restaurants to luxurious apartments and hotels nearby.

New Singapore yacht show aims to ‘put an end to speculation’

Thursday, February 9th, 2023

Written by: Marine Industry News

ONE°15 Marina

SG Marine Guide, an online platform for the Singapore boating community, has announced the launch of the Singapore Yacht Festival (SYF), to take place at One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove from 27 to 30 April 2023.

The event coincides with the dates for the revived Singapore Yacht Show in a release last December, which stated the SYS would run from 27 to 30 April 2023 at an as-yet undisclosed location. SYS has been on a three-year hiatus since the outbreak of covid.

In a statement, SG Marine Guide says: “The Singapore Yachting Festival will put an end to speculation in the market of multiple yacht shows competing to launch in Singapore . In turn, SYF will act as a stopgap to enable a fully prepared and promoted yacht show to happen in 2024.”

“Although we have a short timeline, we have been planning for an event for months,” says SG Marine Guide founder Wade Pearce. “From a strong vantage point, One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove is an ideal venue to host such an event with the marina basin surrounded by busy restaurants. It naturally captures thousands of Sentosa Cove residents, coupled with the added appeal of the yachts on display at SYF, the event will attract thousands of visitors to Sentosa from Singapore and the rest of Asia.”

Pearce spent over four years working at the Singapore Yacht Show , including two years as commercial director. In 2020, the first year that the Singapore Yacht Show was postponed due to covid restrictions, Pearce founded SG Marine Guide, an online platform for marine services in Singapore.

“Singapore’s yachting industry has expanded strongly over the past three years. In addition, expectations are high from both local dealerships and international brands looking for new distribution and clientele in the region. With such high demand, this gives us great confidence to stage an exceptional event in 2023,” says Pearce.

Arthur Tay, CEO and executive director of SUTL Enterprise, owner of One°15 Marina, says the event is “critical” to Singapore as a yachting and lifestyle destination.

“After a three-year hiatus from the last event, we are delighted to be the venue host of the Singapore Yachting Festival. Together with SG Marine Guide, we are confident to deliver an exciting and successful event in response to the booming yachting industry in Asia.”

Most Outstanding Yacht Premieres At The 2023 Singapore Yachting Festival

Over 50 yachts, 70 exhibitors and 9,000 attendees celebrated the return of yacht shows in Asia at the recent Singapore Yachting Festival just across the border. Yacht builders and yacht brands from around the world – including from Italy, France, the US, Taiwan and Australia – were able to showcase their bestselling yacht models, with some being unveiled for the first time ever to Asian audiences.

Take a look at 11 boats that celebrated their Asia premieres at the yacht exhibition, which took place from 27 to 30 April in Singapore .

11 yachts that debuted at the Singapore Yachting Festival

1. ferretti 860.

singapore yacht show 2023 dates

Ferretti celebrated an Asia superyacht premiere at the show with the debut of its 26.95 metre new 860 model. This multideck flybridge yacht is characterised by a streamlined profile designed by Filippo Salvetti and naval architecture penned in-house. Below deck, four generous ensuite cabins can host eight guests, waited on by five crew members. A unique feature is the optional partition for the galley, providing owners with the flexibility to choose between a private dining or chef’s table experience. Outside, 44 square metres of deck space have been equipped with a forward sunbathing lounge, a covered al fresco dining table and cocktail bar on the upper deck, a water toy garage and a swimming platform.

Sanlorenzo also had reason to celebrate at the show, revealing the SX76 model for the first time in Southeast Asia. The 23.75 metre superyacht has been designed by Studio Zuccon as a cross-over model that mixes the styling of a flybridge motor yacht with the technical features of an explorer vessel; a more vertical bow increases on board space and the cruising range can cover over 300 nautical miles. The added volume offers additional features that may come as surprise on a yacht of this size, such as a proper beach club area at the stern. Interiors styled by Piero Lissoni can host up to eight guests and two crew.

3. Azimut 78 Fly

singapore yachting festival asia launches

The 78 Fly by Italian builder Azimut had already been debuted in Hong Kong, but the Singapore Yachting Festival marked its first-ever appearance in Southeast Asia. The 23.64 metre flybridge motor yacht was penned by Alberto Mancini with interiors – equipped with accommodations for eight guests and two crew – styled by Achille Salvagni. Designed for enjoying the great outdoors, the covered flybridge offers an al fresco cocktail bar and barbecue area. The instalment of Tripod Volvo IPS engines has reduced the vessel’s CO2 emissions by 30% while still be able to power her up to a top speed of 33 knots.

4. Bluegame BGX60

Singapore Yachting Festival asia launches bluegame

The Singapore Yachting Festival was the first time that BGX60 model by Italian yacht builder Bluegame had been seen in the continent of Asia. Measuring 19.02 metres in length, this superboat is powered by twin Volvo Penta engines to a zippy top speed of 30 knots. Minimalist, modern interiors, which include accommodations for four guests spread over two decks, were designed by Luca Santella and Zuccon International Project. Highlights include a crane for launching tenders and water toys, a swimming platform and al fresco areas for lounging, sunbathing and dining all packed into a sleek and compact vessel. The BGX60 was first launched in 2020 as the latest model in the BGX line.

5. Beneteau Oceanis 54

2023 singapore yachting festival

Measuring 17.12 metres, the Oceanis 54 is a modern monohull sailing yacht constructed by French builder Beneteau. The single-masted sailor flies two sails while underway, with a Bimini hardtop protecting those at the helm from the heat of the sun. Interiors designed by Lorenzo Argento offer three cabins elegantly finished with light woods. State of the art sailing technology has been integrated to assist with wind-powered cruising, and this fully-connected vessel even has an app for owners to manage on board systems. The Oceanis 54 was one of two sailing yachts enjoying its regional unveiling as a Southeast Asia premiere.

6. Lagoon 55

Singapore Yachting Festival asia premieres

French shipyard Lagoon revealed its 55 catamaran model for the first time in Southeast Asia while at the show. The twin-hulled sailing yacht measures 16.6 metres but can accommodate as many as 16 guests overnight depending on whether buyers opt for a four, five or six cabin layout. Highlights include an open cockpit complimented by lounge and sunbathing spaces and skylights in the main saloon to further open up interior spaces. An extended transom offers easier access to the vessel and an area for relaxation at the water’s edge.

7. Fairline Squadron 50

Singapore Yachting Festival asia premieres

British builder Fairline celebrated its regional Southeast Asia debut of the Squadron 50 at the show. The 15 metre flybridge model offers four to seven berths, depending on the buyer’s choice of cabin configuration. Interiors are finished in a classic style while exteriors offer a swimming platform, numerous al fresco entertaining areas and an open cockpit with spectacular views. A top speed of 23 knots is achieved thanks to powerful twin Volvo Penta engines.

8. Nimbus T11

singapore yacht show 2023 dates

The Singapore Yacht Show gave the opportunity for a number of dayboats, which are popular in the Asian market, to be showcased in the continent for the first time. The T11 model by Nimbus was one such vessel enjoying its Asia premiere. Measuring 12.4 metres, this walk-around dayboat can host an impressive 12 people on board for relaxation, exploration or water sports, while two cabins below deck can extend island-hopping journeys yet further. Highlights include an outdoor galley with a barbeque – perfect for entertaining – plus a swimming platform, water toy storage, sunbathing spaces and a covered cockpit. A razor sharp bow design helps this streamlined superboat hit top speeds of over 40 knots.

The showcase of the 11.2 metre Oryx 379 at the Singapore Yachting Festival was the vessel’s debut appearance in Asia. The model has a distinctive plumb bow hull design and classic interior styling. Below deck there is a galley and dining space as well as overnight accommodations for up to four guests, while sunbathing spaces abound on the upper deck.

Brabus Marine’s 11-metre Shadow 500 had its Singaporean debut at the show. The limited edition model has been painted to supercar standard, finished in a striking blue livery. With a blistering top speed of 50 knots powered by Mercury engines, this is a high-octane vessel designed for adrenaline seekers. A shallow draft ensures access to idyllic anchorages between diving, fishing or water sports sessions, while ample storage for equipment and luggage, together with one cabin, extends this speedboat into an overnight vessel for longer excursions.

Singapore Yachting Festival: Marinas in Asia filling up as industry demand grows

After a four-year hiatus, boat shows have returned to Singapore. Olivia Michel gets a feel for the Asian boating market at the Singapore Yachting Festival.

More than 55 yachts, 74 exhibitors and 9,000 visitors descended on Sentosa for the event, demonstrating the return of the country’s yachting scene. Though considerably smaller than Monaco, Cannes or Fort Lauderdale, the enthusiasm at the show was palpable.

SG Marine Guide launches the Singapore Yachting Festival

BY Ryan Swift on 9 Feb 2023

SG Marine Guide's new Singapore Yachting Festival will be at the ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove this April

SG Marine Guide has announced the launch of the Singapore Yachting Festival (SYF), to take place at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove from April 27 to 30, 2023.

In a statement, SG Marine Guide said: “the Singapore Yachting Festival will put an end to speculation in the market of multiple yacht shows competing to launch in Singapore. In turn, SYF will act as a stopgap to enable a fully prepared and promoted yacht show to happen in 2024.”

Read: 80% of berths already reserved for Singapore Yachting Festival

In December last year, Verventia announced the return of the Singapore Yacht Show, with dates from April 27 to 30, 2023 , but with no venue listed.

“Although we have a short timeline, we have been planning for an event for months,” said SG Marine Guide Founder Wade Pearce.

Pearce spent over four years working at the Singapore Yacht Show, including two years as commercial director. In 2020, the first year that the Singapore Yacht Show was postponed due to Covid restrictions, Pearce founded SG Marine Guide, an online platform of marine services in Singapore.

ONE15 Berth

“Singapore’s yachting industry has expanded strongly over the past three years. In addition, expectations are high from both local dealerships and international brands looking for new distribution and clientele in the region. With such high demand, this gives us great confidence to stage an exceptional event in 2023,” said Pearce.

Arthur Tay, CEO and executive director of SUTL Enterprise Ltd, owner of ONE°15 Marina, said the event was “critical” to Singapore as a yachting and lifestyle destination. “After a three-year hiatus from the last event, we are delighted to be the venue host of the Singapore Yachting Festival. Together with SG Marine Guide, we are confident to deliver an exciting and successful event in response to the booming yachting industry in Asia.”

Organisers say that a site plan and rates are now available. SYF will hold a presentation at the upcoming Grow Boating Singapore on February 17th at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove at 5pm in Constellation Ballroom Level 2.
