Fiat 500X Yachting debuts with special edition inspired by boating

There's also a smaller 500c yachting collector's edition with many of the same design tweaks.

The Fiat 500X Yachting introduces an electrically folding soft top to the compact crossover that's not quite a traditional convertible but goes beyond a panoramic sunroof. A 500C Yachting special edition is also on the way.

The 500X Yachting looks basically identical to the hardtop model, except for the fabric roof. It doesn't open all the way to expose the rear of the vehicle but opens enough to bring sunlight and fresh air to all of the occupants.

The 500X Yachting launches with a Collectors’ Edition that has a Blu Venezia blue soft top and Ivory pinstripe running along the shoulder line. The mirror caps and door handles are brushed chrome. The model rides on 18-inch wheels with Sea Blue details on the spokes. A "Yacht Club Capri” logo is on the base of the B-pillar and the left side of the hatchback.

Inside, the 500X Yachting Collectors’ Edition comes with white upholstery with blue piping on the outer edges of the seats. The dashboard has a mahogany finish and a Yachting emblem. The aluminium door still places add a little style when getting into the vehicle.

Fiat 500 family news:

The 500C Yachting Collectors’ Edition follows a similar recipe as the larger model. It comes in a Blu Dipinto di Blu blue colour. There are chrome-plated parts for the front grille and mirror caps. The model rides on 16-inch diamond-cut wheels with a chrome face and black details. A silver pinstripe runs down the side of the vehicle, and there's a Yacht Club Capri logo on the B-pillar

Inside, the 500C Yachting has a blonde wood finish on the dashboard. The seats are ivory-coloured with Pelle Frau leather inserts. The 500 logo is embroidered in blue.

The first 500 examples of both Collectors’ Edition models sold in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and Switzerland will get a special badge with the country's initials. It's a throwback to when these two-letter emblems were necessary when driving between countries in Europe.

New 500X Yacht Club Capri, the first in an “open-air” version

On July 1 st , Europe makes a new start: with the “Green Pass”, it will be possible to return to freedom of movement within the 27 countries of the European Union. Freedom, joie de vivre and escapism come with the long-awaited restart and the beginning of this year’s summer season. The desire to rediscover the pleasure of things big and small takes us back to the ambience of Dolce Vita that straddled the 1950s and ’60s, when Rome, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Portofino and Capri became the settings for the international jet set. Here in Italy, they found the right places for pure escapism, in the name of Italian style and taste.

It gives the green light to the recovery, to the reopening of Europe, to the return to freedom of movement and travel, and in a way to that carefree attitude typical of summer,” stated Olivier Francois, Fiat Chief Executive Officer and Stellantis CMO. “These were the precise values that inspired the creation of the new 500X Yacht Club Capri, the first “open-air” 500X, as the feeling of the wind in your hair is synonymous with freedom and happiness. The new “open-air” body makes its debut with the “Yacht Club Capri” Special Series, a tribute to a location as evocative as the Yacht Club Capri, and with the 500X Dolcevita Launch Edition.”

The 500X Yacht Club Capri adds a new body to the 500X line-up: on top of the Cross and Sport trims, the 500X now becomes “open-air” for the first time. In a few seconds and with a single push of a button, the electric soft top of the new Yacht Club Capri special series opens the 500X to the heavens. The new special series with its livery dedicated to the “Yacht Club Capri” is available in “Blue Venezia” with blue “Dolcevita” soft-top, brushed chrome mirror caps and door handles, and the Yacht Club Capri logo to cement the partnership on the B-pillar and tailgate. The line of beauty enhances the car's profile and sophistication. Also brand-new and exclusive are the 18” lightweight alloy wheels with Blue Venezia design cues. The sailing-inspired elegance and the reference to the years of the Dolce Vita can also be seen in the interior: soft touch white seats with 500 blue embroidery and as optional, a dashboard and gear knob in dark mahogany.

500X Dolcevita Launch Edition

The 500X Dolcevita Launch Edition embodies the excitement and pleasure of “open-air” driving in a prestigious launch edition. The external livery comes in Gelato White, the electric "DolceVita" soft-top is blue and the 18” alloy wheels include blue design cues, while the prestige of the interior lies in its soft touch white seats.

Fiat 500X Gets Canvas Top No One Asked For, but It’s Kind of Cool

The Yacht Club Capri special edition model features a cloth sunroof, satin trim, a wood dashboard, and a bougie $34,100 price.

• A large cloth top offers open-air motoring, and the interior is upgraded with ivory-colored leather and wood accents.
• Blu Venezia paint, unique 18-inch wheels, and special edition badging give the 500X a striking look.

The 500X was already pretty exclusive for a small SUV —Fiat has only sold 980 of them this year through September—but for 2022 it receives a special Yacht Club Capri model that's sure to be even rarer. The nautical-themed model is based on the Sport trim but includes several upscale touches that push its price over the $34,000 mark.

All of the Yacht Club Capri models come draped in Blu Venezia paint and wearing 18-inch wheels with color-matched detailing. Bright satin accents on the SUV's bumpers and exterior mirrors look nice against the dark-blue paint. The 500X's panoramic glass sunroof has been swapped out in favor of a power-operated cloth top that provides a larger opening. The cloth top, which Fiat is cleverly calling the Al-Fresco top, is also available on cheaper Pop, Sport, and Trekking models for 2022, but the blue-colored fabric is exclusive to the Yacht Club Capri.

If those changes to the 500X's exterior weren't enough to indicate its specialness, the SUV's B-pillars are adorned with a special Yacht Club Capri badge. The 500X's interior also sees upgrades including ivory-colored leather upholstery with blue piping, a lovely dark wood dash panel, and a gearshift knob with wood and satin trim.

Fiat is no stranger to nautical special editions. In Europe, the 500 minicar was offered with a similar treatment, with design inspiration and branding from yacht builder Riva. A high-performance 500 Abarth was fitted with a Riva-inspired design in 2017 , and only 350 were made.

While the 500X Yacht Club Capri isn't nearly as exciting as the 500 Abarth version that precedes it, its new cloth top and unique styling are still kind of cool, and it looks far more stylish than several subcompact SUV rivals. Just how many will find homes in North America remains to be seen, but at the very least, it's a fresh, handsome choice.

Review – Fiat 500X Hybrid Yacht Club Capri

Beautiful yacht club capri.

Before we talk about the new powertrain and the car’s handling, let’s take a moment to look at the car’s looks. Fiat brings the 500X Hybrid as an extremely chic Yacht Club Capri version. The execution comes from a close collaboration with the eponymous and exclusive sailing club in Italy. That led to a 500X Hybrid with a nautical theme, for both the exterior and interior. Characteristic of the version is the white leather upholstery, wooden elements in the interior, special badges all around, pin striping and the particularly beautiful color blue. The ‘Blue Venezia’ color is also reflected in the 18-inch alloy wheels and the piping and logo in the upholstery. It all looks excellent on the car, making it perhaps the nicest looking car in its class? Fiat opts for a luxury feel and, in doing so, at least takes a different path than its competitors with SUVs in the B-segment, who mainly go for a tough and/or sporty look.

500X Convertible

Yet unique to this 500X is the soft-top that covers almost the entire surface of the roof. The passengers in the back can also enjoy the sun, as the roll-up roof opens up nice and far. Whether the term “convertible” that Fiat gives this car also applies is something we will leave aside for the moment.

Nevertheless, it is very nice to drive with the roof open. You do really experience the feeling of open driving. At higher speeds, such as on the highway, it is more comfortable to drive with the roof closed, though. That point is at 100 km/h, which is also the maximum speed for opening and closing the roof while driving. With the roof closed, driving and wind noises are filtered out just fine, but it never gets really quiet.

Under the hood of the 500X Capri Convertible

After the – very nice – electric Fiat 500e , things remained a bit quiet around Fiat. Then finally, in the 500X Hybrid’s undercarriage we find a new power source, namely the 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 130 hp and 240 Nm of torque and a 48V electric motor processed in the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The electric motor supports the gasoline engine in situations such as city acceleration, parking or traffic jam driving. Full electric driving is possible up to 20 km/h for about 3 kilometers. According to Fiat, the use of hybrid technology should save about 10% in the car’s consumption and CO2 emissions.

Driving the Fiat 500X Hybrid

Time to get behind the wheel of the 500X Hybrid Capri. The elegant version immediately gives a sense of luxury through the white seats and wooden dashboard. The playful interior is user-friendly with large physical dials for the climate control. The ergonomics are good, but we already knew that from the older Fiats 500X.

The first few meters are completely electric, but it doesn’t take long for the gasoline engine to kick in. The transition is not incredibly smooth and you can clearly feel when the four-cylinder kicks in.

The chassis is firm, but not overly hard. It makes for fine handling, but it’s not like it makes the car particularly dynamic. That’s not a problem, by the way, because the drive doesn’t invite you to step on the gas for a while either. Driving slowly is the motto. Still, at times the automatic will seem a bit jerky, especially at moments of low speed, when in doubt between giving gas or not, such as in the busy city and in traffic jams.

Multimedia System

In the center of the dashboard we find a 7-inch display from the old generation 500X. Here should have been an updated 10-inch display, but due to worldwide delivery problems, the old screen is still installed. The system works fine, tad slow perhaps at times. A nice touch is that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are present for smartphone integration. More technology we find in the form of the safety systems. For example, the 500X recognizes traffic signs, has Lane Assist, adaptive cruise control, Attention Assist and parking assistance.

What does the Fiat 500X Hybrid Yacht Club Capri cost?

The Fiat 500X Hybrid comes from 32,190 euros. The convertible roof has an additional cost of 3,000 euros. The Fiat 500X Hybrid Yacht Club Capri is the top version of the 500X and is listed in the brochure for 39,900 euros. This certainly does not make it the cheapest in its class, where alternatives include the Renault Captur (31,800 euros), Nissan Juke (33,040 euros) and Ford Puma (31,165 euros).

The Fiat 500X Hybrid Yacht Club Capri, should you buy it? The answer to that question is not so easy. Yes, at almost 40,000 euros it is anything but cheap, but on the other hand you get something completely different from what is currently available in the segment. Particularly beautiful is this Capri version in any case. Fiat is once again playing the trump card of special editions with this one. And that’s not a bad thing, especially when they then look like this. The powertrain and chassis are a great combination and make for a comfortable ride. The fabric roll-up roof is a nice addition and adds charm to the version. As far as we are concerned, this 500X is an excellent boulevard cruiser!

Feel The Wind – Meet The Fiat 500X & Fiat 500C Yachting Edition:

Open-air experience in a 500x for the first time....

For the past several years, the FIAT brand is tried to offer their customers more open-air choices with vehicles like the 500C and the all-new 500e Cabrio . Now the brand is adding a third model to its open-air palette of vehicles with the new Fiat 500X Yachting. 

The Fiat 500X Yachting adds an electrically folding one-touch soft-top to the compact Italian crossover for the first time. While the 500X Yachting looks almost identical to the hardtop model, the fabric roof opens up the interior to the outdoors more than any panoramic sunroof would. 

The 500X will be joined by a new 500C Yachting edition model as well, offering both a two-door and four-door open-air experience for the brand.

To kick off the launch of the new model, the 500X Yachting will launch with a Collector’s Edition with a special livery dedicated to the “Yacht Club Capri” and will come in an exclusive “Blu Venezia” exterior color with a blue soft-top. Mirror caps and door handles feature a brushed chrome look, while a blue and ivory stripe flows down the waistline of the vehicle. There is a new set of exclusive lightweight 18-inch aluminum wheels with “sea blue” accents as well. A “Yacht Club Capri” logos adorn the base of the B-pillar and the left side of the hatch.

The sailing-inspired interior features a set of white soft-touch seats which feature an embroidered blue “500” and blue piping down the sides of them. Aluminum door sill plates with the “Yachting” logo and a Mahogany dashboard are also classic nautical touches done to the interior. Even the key cover also comes with a new look, reminiscent of the vehicle’s body colors.

As for the 500C version, starts with the “Blu Dipinto di Blu” (Blue Painted Blue) color, a homage to the intense hues of the sea at Capri and to the world of sailing. 500C Yachting also has chrome-plated inserts on the front grille, mirror caps, one-touch blue powered soft-top, and a set of diamond-cut black 16-inch aluminum wheels.

Inside of the 500C Yachting, there is a set of ivory-colored seats with Frau leather inserts and the “500” logo once again embroidered in blue. Instead of featuring a dashboard of Mahogany, the 500C model is made from seafaring wood. Of course, the Yacht Club Capri logo is featured both inside and outside the vehicle as well.

The Collector’s Edition series will also be numbered for the first 500 units of both models. Those models will be sold in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and Switzerland ( sorry U.S. and Canada fans ), and will have a badge with the country’s initials and unit number on the center console.

FIAT has yet to say if it plans to bring the 500X Yachting to North America.

I could see the 500X being a popular rental car in south Florida or California. I also could see them being used as uber or car service vehicles for people to take in the sights. I have to imagine Chrysler will take over where FIAT tried to be in N.A. (and I'm sure sales will at least 2x even if the vehicle esthetics didn't change)

It's a sharp package for the 500X. If FIAT wants to get a grip on the market here, they need a gimmick to stand out in the market here. With vehicles like the new Chevy TrailBlazer, Buick Encore, Jeep Renegade, and Ford EcoSport, no one is going to be buying Italian. So why not make Fiat as the brand that offers all models with a soft-top option. Something different to shake up the market.

The Fiat 500X Yachting Edition has a retractable soft top similar to the 500C

Fiat has previewed a convertible version of the 500X that it dubs the Yachting edition.

The new model was teased on Instagram by Fiat chief executive Olivier Francois and shows the open-top 500X being driven through some picturesque places in Italy. If you want to enjoy summer sun and have the wind in your face, the 500X Yachting could be the perfect model for the job.

In the video, we can see that the fabric roof of the 500X is very similar to the one of the 500C. However, rather than the roof extending down to where the rear window would normally be, the roof of the 500X Yachting stops retracting when it is in line with the C-pillars. The crossover also features a wind deflector to reduce some of the buffeting when the fabric top is open.

Elsewhere, the video shows that the 500X Yachting has badges on the B-pillars that read ‘Yacht Club Capri’. The interior also comes clad in white leather that’s contrasted by a host of blue accents that mimic the blue exterior paint. In addition, the vehicle features mahogany wood on the dashboard and gear shifter.

Pricing details for the Fiat 500X Yachting haven’t been announced but it can be expected to sell for a small premium over the standard model which starts at €21,000 in Italy. It is expected to be powered by the same turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine as other 500X models, producing 177 hp and 210 lb-ft (285 Nm) of torque.

The video "Welcome back Dolce Vita"

The director of the video “Welcome back Dolce Vita” is a young talent with the stage name William 9, who made his directorial debut with music videos before switching to the commercials genre. In the video shot for Fiat, he brought the rhythm and engaging narrative style of music clips together with a visual language that represents the perfect mix of elegance, style, lightheartedness and joie de vivre. The main characters are three young people who take a day off, which consists of jogging and diving, flirting and improvised dances. In short: a little escape from everyday life to a feeling of freedom. The new Fiat 500X Yachting is the ideal travel companion.

The choice for the soundtrack fell on a French song. With “L'amour”, Bon Entendeur vs Mouloudji take up a song from the 1960s, the era of Dolce Vita, and modernize it with a contemporary remix. The video is a modern interpretation of François Truffaut's great love story classic "Jules and Jim". It pays homage to lightness, to the dolce vita, understood as an attitude towards life and the search for little everyday pleasures.

A yacht on four wheels

Like the earlier special model Fiat 500 Riva, the Fiat 500X Yachting also has a unique style that is inspired by the maritime world and the elegance of luxury yachts and adorned with references to the world of sailing. This applies in particular to the two special models “Yacht Club Capri”, which are limited to 500 copies. This launch edition features the specific blue exterior colors "Blue Venezia" on the Fiat 500X Yachting and "Blu Dipinto di Blu" on the Fiat 500C "Yacht Club Capri", the likewise blue fabric top, chrome details and the beauty line that runs around the body, which refers to a style element of motor yachts. The partner in the development of the exclusive special models was the renowned Yacht Club Capri, which played an important role in the Dolce Vita era. The club's logo adorns the B-pillar and tailgate of the two “Yacht Club Capri” editions. The first 500 copies of the two special models are marked with a sticker with the production number.

The electrically operated soft top of the Fiat 500X Yachting opens electrically in around 15 seconds. The new Fiat 500X Yachting is available as standard in the equipment versions CROSS and SPORT.

At the market launch, the new Fiat 500X Yachting will also be available as a special “Yacht Club Capri” model. The Launch Edition is painted in the exclusive “Blue Venezia” color, the fabric hood is also in blue. Mirror caps, the handles on the doors and tailgate, the crossbar around the radiator and inserts in the front bumper are finished in satin chrome. In addition, a blue-ivory-colored beauty line that runs around the body at the height of the belt line emphasizes the elegant silhouette of the Fiat 500X Yachting “Yacht Club Capri”. The 18-inch alloy wheels with sea-blue details are also newly designed and exclusive.

The elegance inspired by the world of sailing yachts can also be found in the interior. The seat covers made of ivory-colored soft-touch material are provided with the signature 500 with a blue border. The aluminum door sills with the “Yachting” lettering as well as the wooden dashboard inlay and a wooden decor in the gear knob are another strong reference to yachts that are symbolic of the Dolce Vita era. The cover of the vehicle key repeats the body color and is reminiscent of nautical equipment. Specific floor mats as well as a numbered badge for the first 500 copies (Germany 1 of 500) on the center console round off the equipment of the special model Fiat 500X Yachting “Yacht Club Capri”.

The new “Yacht Club Capri” special model of the Fiat 500C also refers to the sea, starting with the “Blu Dipinto di Blu” body color, which pays homage to the intense blue tones of the sea around the Mediterranean island of Capri. Further equipment features include chrome inserts in the front bumper, chrome-plated mirror caps and 16-inch light-alloy wheels with black hub caps. The launch edition also offers an electrically operated hood made of blue fabric, which turns every journey into pure Dolce Vita pleasure. In the Fiat 500C Yachting “Yacht Club Capri”, too, a silver-blue beauty line is reminiscent of a sailing boat. Badges on the B-pillar and on the tailgate refer to the cooperation with the renowned yacht club.

The unique details continue in the interior. The dashboard is covered with wood. The ivory-colored seat covers with leather inserts from Poltrona Frau are embroidered with the blue 500 logo and form an elegant contrast to the black door panels and floor mats. The upper panels and the headliner are made of ivory. Ivory-colored leather on the gear knob, mats with white frames, a black surround for the radio, a height-adjustable driver's seat, rear parking sensors, a specific cover for the vehicle key and a numbered badge (for the first 500 copies in Germany) complete the features of the special model.

Options for the new Fiat 500X Yachting include xenon headlights, a navigation system as well as a chrome line trim strip for the bonnet and a wind deflector. This creates even more Dolce Vita feeling.

Convertible Fiat 500X Dolcevita confirmed for UK market

The open-top version of the fiat 500x crossover has a roof that can open in 15 seconds flat.

Fiat has revealed that the new open-top ‘Dolcevita’ version of its 500X crossover will go on sale in the UK, with order books open now and prices starting from £23,975. 

The 500X Dolcevita features a large, electrically opening canvas roof. It provides a not-quite full convertible experience similar to that in the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet and is one of the only small, supermini sized SUVs on the market with an open top.

The canvas roof can open or close in 15 seconds, even at speeds of up to 62mph. Black, grey and red canvas materials are available, alongside the car’s 10 body paint colours. 

The 500X Dolcevita is part of the refreshed 500 family, joining updated versions of the 500 city car, the regular 500X crossover and the 500L MPV. As such, it’s available in three trim levels similar to those found elsewhere in the 500 family. 

The Connect version of the car is equipped with a 7-inch U-Connect infotainment system with DAB Radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto , along with black fabric upholstery, a faux leather trimmed steering wheel and 17-inch alloy wheels. 

Sitting above the Connect version are 500X Dolcevita Cross and Sport versions, the former introducing rugged SUV design cues and the latter employing a sportier look. Both come with 19-inch wheels and automatic air conditioning as standard, while the Sport model also comes with black sports seats with red piping, aluminium effect dashboard trim and a 3.5-inch driver information display. 

Two petrol engines are available. A turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder, developing 118bhp and sending drive to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, is offered alongside a 148bhp 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol option mated to a DCT automatic as standard. 

Prices start from £23,975 for the car in Connect trim with the 118bhp three-cylinder unit, while Cross and Sport model versions of the 500X Dolcevita are also available with this engine, priced from £25,775 and £27,275 respectively. 

Cross and Sport versions of the car are also where the 148bhp 1.3-litre automatic engine becomes available. On the Cross, it costs from £28,275 and is priced from £29,775 for the Sport model.

The 2025 Fiat 500X is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). The Fiat 500X is closely related to the Jeep Renegade. The 500X is better as a commuter car, even if its fuel economy is only average. The 2025 Fiat 500X comes with a semi-retractable sunroof and comes standard with a small 177-hp four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive.

The cute retro design makes the 500X stand out among more traditionally styled small SUVs like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona, and Mazda CX-30, but all of these subcompact alternatives drive better. Some are more practical, as the 2023 500X’s small rear seats and cramped cargo space limit its usefulness. The Fiat 500X series has been reduced to just two models this year.

The rugged-looking Trekking and Trekking Plus have been discontinued, and the nautical-themed Yacht Club Capri has made its bow after just a year in Fiat showrooms. That leaves the basic Pop and stylish Sport trims. The Sport’s available 19-inch wheels give the 500X a nice stance, and the interior details are tasteful and worth the cost over the standard Pop model.

Inside, the quality of the 2025 500X’s interior materials is far from best-in-class, and passenger space is tight. The controls are well laid out and the riding position should accommodate a variety of body shapes and sizes. Fiat also has an attractive cabin, especially the Sport version with its raised seats and stylish design details. A 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard on every Fiat 500X. The factory navigation system and upgraded Beats audio system are optional on the Sport. Each 500X has two USB charging ports at the bottom of the center console.

All Fiat 500X 2025 models come with a 177-horsepower turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine. A 9-speed auto transmission and all-wheel drive are standard. The all-wheel-drive system has three driver-selectable settings to optimize traction in changing conditions. All models come with 17-inch aluminum wheels except the Sport model, which has standard 18s and 19-inch wheels. The Fiat’s suspension is comfortable for highway cruising but loses its stability on twisty back roads. Fuel economy is so-so for a small crossover, as the EPA rates the Fiat 500X at 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. In test results, 500x gets a chance to drive the 500X on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route.

Fiat 500X opting for the Advanced Driver Assistance Group package adds a host of driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The 500X’s crash test results will be available at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alerts, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning.

Until the updated 500e all-electric hatchback arrives next year, the 2023 Fiat 500X is the only model in the Italian brand's lineup. On July 1 st , Europe makes a new start: with the “Green Pass”, it will be possible to return to freedom of movement within the 27 countries of the European Union. Freedom, joie de vivre and escapism come with the long-awaited restart and the beginning of this year’s summer season.

The desire to come back to life and rediscover the pleasure of things big and small takes us back to the ambience of dolce vita that straddled the 1950s and ’60s, when Rome, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Portofino and Capri became the settings for the international jet set. Here in Italy, they found the right places for pure escapism, in the name of Italian style and taste.

“July 1 st is a significant date with a considerable symbolic value. It gives the green light to the recovery, to the reopening of Europe, to the return to freedom of movement and travel, and in a way to that carefree attitude typical of summer. Fiat wishes to celebrate this day with the “Welcome back dolce vita” video,” stated Olivier François, Fiat Chief Executive Officer and Stellantis CMO. Shot on Capri – the destination for the dolce vita, the video is a paean to freedom and nonchalance.

It powerfully recalls and draws its inspiration from that lightness typical of the 1950s and ’60s, known by all Italians as the years of the dolce vita. These were the precise values that inspired the creation of the new 500X Yachting, the first “open-air” 500X, as the feeling of the wind in your hair is synonymous with freedom and happiness. The new Yachting body comes in addition to the Cross and Sport, and is strongly inspired by luxury sailing: the special series at launch could therefore be none other than a tribute to a location as evocative as the Yacht Club Capri.”

The “Welcome back dolce vita” was made by the young talent William 9, who made his directorial debut with music videos and then moved on to adverts. In the video produced by Fiat, he brings the rhythm and engaging narrative mode of music videos, combined with a language that represents the perfect mix between elegance, style, nonchalance and joie de vivre.

The characters in the video are 3 young people who go off from a regatta to enjoy a day of escapism made up of dips in the sea, glances and unexpected dancing. A brief escape from conventions and rules, aiming at a more authentic freedom. The new Fiat 500X Yachting is the ideal travel companion. And it will be exactly that “wind in the hair” that “betrays” the 3 characters…

The choice of soundtrack went to a French track, Bon Entendeur vs Mouloudji: “L’amour”, a song from the 1960s, the era of the dolce vita, updated with a remix that takes us into a sophisticated world with a touch of timeless romance.

The video is a paean to lightness, a modern reading of Truffaut’s great classic Jules et Jim , but also of the dolce vita, taken as a modus vivendi in search of the simple pleasures of everyday life.

A yacht on 4 wheels

As was the case for the 500 Riva special series, the new 500X and 500 Yachting in their launch edition with a livery paying tribute to the “Yacht Club Capri” also take on a unique style, inspired by sailing and the elegance of luxury yachts.

They are embellished with references to these worlds: the specific blue color and the soft top, also blue; the line of beauty, a nod to speedboats produced at prestigious shipyards; the chrome-plated design cues that embellish both models; the exclusivity of a major partnership with one of the 40 most prestigious sailing clubs in Italy: the Yacht Club Capri, as evoked by the “Yacht Club Capri” logo placed on the side and rear of the two Collectors’ Editions.

The two special launch series will also be numbered: the first 500 models of both cars – to be sold in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland – will bear a badge with the country’s initials and the model number.

The 500 special version paying tribute to the “Yacht Club Capri” is also a nod to the sea, starting with the “Blu Dipinto di Blu” color, a homage to the intense hues of the sea at Capri and to the world of exclusive sailing, with chrome-plated inserts on the front grille, mirror caps and diamond-cut black 16” alloy wheels.

The new Collectors’ Edition takes on an electric-powered blue soft top: in a few seconds and with a single push of a button, the driver and passengers can enjoy the journey in typical dolce vita style.

Again on the 500 Yachting, a silver and blue line of beauty recalls the same line seen on yachts.  Last but not least, a logo marking the exclusive partnership with the Yacht Club Capri stands out on the pillar.

The prestigious design cues continue in the interior: the dashboard is made of seafaring wood for an elegant touch in typical dolce vita style. In contrast with the black surroundings are the ivory-colored seats with inserts in Frau leather and the 500 logo embroidered in blue.
