During Below Deck 's March 18 episode, Captain Kerry Titheradge  fired the first season 11 yachtie when he let Bosun Jared Woodin go for unprofessional behavior, the last straw being an inebriated Jared barging into Stew Barbie Pascual 's cabin the night prior and yelling at Deckhand Kyle Stillie for leaving a mess of loose tobacco on the deck after a night of partying. 

"This is the second time you've gone on the piss and you've had bad behavior," Kerry told his subordinate. "You're in a leadership role. You can't be acting like that. You gotta be above the fray. The way that you're treating these guy is not acceptable."

But it wasn't just the alcohol that was the problem, as Kerry noted Jared's mental state wasn't where it needed to be. "You've got s--t going on, man," he shared. "You're your own worst enemy right now. You need to depart the vessel."

However, Jared agreed his head wasn't in the right place and accepted his termination graciously.

"This ain't the right place for me at the right time," Jared replied, to which Kerry responded, "I don't blame you for that. Take this time and work on yourself. Me keeping you here is a disservice to you."

Before departing the super-yacht, Jared reflected in a confessional, "I thought I was in a good headspace coming into this. I'm really not. And as much as I'd like to be I'm just lying to myself."

But Jared wasn't the only teammate to set sail during the latest episode. Stew Cat Baugh willingly left the ship after admittedly struggling with the job all season long.

"I really wanna push through for you guys," Cat, in tears, told Chief Stew Fraser Olender after receiving a very distressing call from a friend back home in America. "I'm just losing my mind right now."

And Fraser totally understood his crewmember's needs.

From being caught drinking while preparing for a new charter to partying at late hours and more, Fraser informed Captain Sandy that he had reached his "last straw."

Below Deck Adventure 's Kyle Dickard was let go just three episodes into the reality franchise's latest series—which premiered in November 2022. "It had to be done. It was such a grievous thing that he dropped the ball there, he had to go, and we had to just be man down and live with it, you know?" Captain Glenn said of the decision  on Watch What Happens Live. "So, obviously, you don't want to do that, but yeah, it had to happen."

Some people are picky eaters, but Below Deck Down Under' s Ryan McKeown was quite the picky chef, as he would judge guests'  food requests  and fail to take  criticism from Captain Jason Chambers , as well.

Perhaps Ryan's Below Deck exit is one of the franchise's most memorable, as he mooned Jason and viewers on his way off the boat.

Below Deck Down Under stew Magda Ziomek 's firing was another case of slacking on the job. After constantly being on her phone texting or video chatting with her boyfriend, Chief Stew Aesha Scott decided to replace Magda before the end of the charter season.

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Peter Hunziker was fired from the series in June 2020 after he shared an offensive post on social media.

"Peter Hunziker of Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post," Bravo wrote in a statement at the time. "Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes."

Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier was let go by Captain Sandy on Below Deck Mediterranean after boson Malia White discovered her co-star possessed undeclared Valium and a vape pen, the former of which Hannah claimed was for her anxiety.

"If I could do it all over again, I would've just declared them as soon as I came on board," Hannah stated in an August 2020 interview with E! News. "It was definitely not something that was intentional. I wasn't trying to hide anything.

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Delaney Evans left just as quickly as she arrived. After initially being brought on during season six to help out Chief Stew Katie Flood , Katie determined that Delaney was doing more harm than good, choosing to let her go after just one charter.

It's a scenic bar with ocean views. As Frankie tells Dalton, it would be a nice place to get married. The bar isn't the only beautiful location in the movie. Even the evil scheming of the villain takes place on a luxurious yacht.

The scenery isn't just good to look at. It also adds weight to the story of an idyllic town beset by violent gangsters and a corrupt sheriff's department. The villains in Glass Key live in an unspoiled paradise, but they want more. The location also represents the change in Dalton's mental state. Before crossing the bridge to the Keys, he almost lets himself get hit by a train, but the town and its people give him something worth fighting for. The gorgeous scenery is a clever way of representing that.

7 Dalton's Backstory Is More Sympathetic

McGregor isn't the greatest actor, but he still has a magnetic presence as a flamboyant villain, and his real-life reputation infuses his fights with even more jeopardy.

From his introduction, strolling naked through a bustling market, to Road House 's post-credits scene when he bursts out of a hospital, McGregor is a major highlight. His action figure strut marks him out as a maverick early on, and he is clearly the biggest threat Dalton has faced even before he lifts a finger. McGregor channels a chaotic sort of glee that movie villains often have when they know they are too physically imposing for anyone to touch them. Knox enjoys violence and he has nothing to lose.

It's by no means a masterpiece of storytelling, but the remake uses several tricks which add up to a more compelling plot. The most important of these is the mystery plot, as Dalton has to figure out why Brandt and his goons are so fixated on the bar.

The mystery gives Dalton the opportunity to play the role of detective, which adds another layer to the movie. He's still every bit the action hero, but he also has to out-think his adversaries. Dalton eventually pieces together the jigsaw and figures out that his problems will continue for as long as Brandt still has investors to repay. The introduction of Knox just shows how desperate Brandt's father is to finish the deal.

4 The Remake Has A Funnier Script

Gyllenhaal is underrated as a comedic actor.

Jake Gyllenhaal has played a few comedic characters in his career, like his wacky animal rights activist in Okja, but he also has a knack for making dramatic roles subtly funnier. This makes his characters feel more well-rounded and human. Road House gives him some great punch lines, and he also brings his comedic talents to some of the movie's less funny moments. Whether he's asking if a man has medical insurance before sending him to the hospital or training his deputy bouncers, Elwood Dalton has an infectious charm.

Patrick Swayze also gets the opportunity to deliver some wry comedic lines in the original Road House. He always has a wise crack when someone says he should be bigger, and his on-screen dynamic with Sam Elliott is irresistibly endearing. He returns to this shot choice during Road House 's explosive ending , when Dalton once more seems as if he's on the brink of death. Liman also uses techniques which echo David Leitch or Guy Ritchie, as the camera moves in time with the fighters as if it's another participant in the brawl.

Former soldier and Senate candidate Heston Russell has been cleared of punching another man during a drunken rooftop pool party.

Magistrate Margaret Quinn dismissed one charge of common assault against Russell at Sydney’s Downing Centre local court on Monday.

Inconsistencies in the accounts of the alleged victim and others at the party meant it was not possible to find beyond reasonable doubt that the alleged assault occurred, she said.

Russell and others attended the party in Sydney’s inner eastern suburbs on 2 January 2022 following a Yacht Social Club event on Sydney Harbour.

An argument during the party led to some “pushing and shoving” at a time when the ex-commando had already consumed half a bottle of tequila, the court heard previously.

Russell, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, said he had learned from the incident and was looking forward to putting it behind him.

“There’s a lot of personal lessons for me to take away in my own conduct,” he told reporters outside court.

“I allowed myself to become too intoxicated. There was a miscommunication at a party. I’m very sorry it came to this in the court.”

The 38-year-old, who now manages a veteran support charity, reported hearing somebody say “no one cares about you and your veteran mates killing yourself”.

He admitted to telling a group of men at the party words to the effect of, “if you keep coming at me, I’m going to throw you off the balcony”.

Russell denied throwing a punch and said his close proximity to the group would have prevented him from doing so.

His lawyer, Michael Bowe, told the court his client was an “elite individual” who had risen to the rank of major in the special forces and he understood how to control himself in stressful situations.

“I must say these are some of the best attributes of character that I’ve ever seen,” he said. “The man’s just an amazing individual.”

In October, a federal court judge ordered the ABC pay Russell more than $400,000 after finding he was defamed by a series of articles relating to alleged war crimes.

Russell unsuccessfully ran for a Senate seat at the 2022 election for his Australian Values party.

Prosecutor Alex Borg argued Russell was so intoxicated at the party he could not remember what occurred and only found out about the alleged assault by reading about it in the newspaper the next day.

But Bowe said Russell could not remember an assault because none had occurred.

“He doesn’t remember a punch he didn’t throw,” Bowe said. “There was push and shove, there was this movement of arms around, but it wasn’t just from Mr Russell. It was from all of them.”

On the night of the party, Russell kissed a man, Nathan Johnston, whose boyfriend was also at the party, the court previously heard.

Russell told an earlier hearing he met the man at the daytime boat party and kissed him on one of the vessels, although Johnston said they only kissed at the later pool party.

The host, who appeared as a witness, said he vividly recalled Russell complaining that a group of guys were “having a go” at him at the party.

Alleged victim Steven Pate gave evidence that he felt a strike to his face, while Johnston’s boyfriend, Christopher Hicks, was the only witness who reported seeing the punch occur.
