HEMISPHERE, the world's largest sailing catamaran, is designed to deliver incredible experiences. She has a PADI-certified, Nitrox-capable dive centre for up to 12 guests and Captain Gavin is a qualified dive instructor with encyclopaedic knowledge and infectious passion for marine life in this divers' paradise. There is a 16.4m (53.8ft) sports fishing tender for exploring ashore and reaching special dive sites as well as tournament-standard fishing capabilities.

With a 16.6m (54.5ft) beam, her deck spaces are vast. From her flybridge jacuzzi and al fresco dining areas to her shaded spaces on the main deck aft and the sunbathing trampoline forward where you can watch dolphins play underway, she covers every base for relaxation and entertainment. Two VIP cabins on the main deck each have access to a terrace lounge forward and her award-winning interiors are refined yet instantly welcoming.

Right from the start, HEMISPHERE is in a league of her own. The world's largest luxury charter catamaran, HEMISPHERE boasts the ultimate fusion of extravagance and dynamic performance. This stunning 44.2m (145') sailing yacht commands unrivalled presence whether sailing or at anchor. HEMISPHERE will be available for charter in the stunning destinations of the Grenadines and Costa Rica until May 2024 and then in the idyllic islands of French Polynesia from August 2024.

Built by Pendennis and designed by renowned naval architects and multihull specialists, Van Peteghem Lauriot Prévost, her interior concept by Michael Leach Design can be described as "Polynesian Six Star Luxury": 15 varieties of stone, 18 different leathers, a soothing palette and blend of finishes including walnut soles, brushed oak and wengé, make HEMISPHERE a charter connoisseur's dream.

At 44.2m, her imposing size allows ample room for all the luxuries her charter guests could desire. A performance catamaran, HEMISPHERE is stable at sea as well and quick to respond when her 2 x 490hp Caterpillar engines are employed. HEMISPHERE accommodates up to 12 charter guests, and no two staterooms are identical. The two VIP masters are located forward of the main saloon, both with ensuite shower rooms. These staterooms can be adapted into a single master suite via a retractable joining door. In addition charter guests are accommodated in 2 double staterooms plus a twin stateroom with two pullman berths, all with ensuite shower rooms. The TV room on the main deck, boasts a Kaleidescape system where charter guests can choose from hundreds of movies and games. Wi-Fi and socket connections, Satcom and Cellular communications facilities, Satellite TV, iPod docking stations and MP3 connections are throughout the vessel. There's a 61" plasma TV in the lower saloon, 42" plasmas in the VIP staterooms and 32" LCD TVs in charter guest staerooms.

Outside, the flybridge affords massive deck space for recreation, and an inviting seating area surrounds the spa pool. The main aft deck features a fascinating oval-shaped glass table, etched with a map of the world's seven continents. The lavish formal dining area is located on the deck below.

As for water sports and toys, HEMISPHERE'S options are nearly limitless for charter guests. In addition to an 8.2m Scorpion tender with 315hp Yamaha inboard, HEMISPHERE comes equipped with a 16.4m (54ft) F&S custom sport fishing boat for game fishing, diving and guest excursions. There is a 4.5m Castoldi jet wave rider with Yanmar 125hp engine, full scuba diving gear for 12 guests, water skis, five water scooters, two Seabobs, wake boards, kneeboard, kayaks, paddle boards, tow toys, a 4.8m inflatable water trampoline and a 1m high 2.4m professional diving board!

The 145.01ft/44.2-meter vessel was built in 2011 by Pendennis, and its elegant exterior was designed by Van Peteghem Lauriot Prevost (VPLP).

Michael Leach is responsible for the exquisite interior design work, and the Hemisphere has won multiple awards for its design, architecture and layout.

The Hemisphere sleeps up to 12 guests in its 5 rooms. The rooms include 2 VIP staterooms, 2 double cabins and 1 twin cabin, each offering a comfortable and contemporary place to relax after long days at sea.

The Hemisphere has a cruising speed of 11 knots and a maximum speed of 13 knots, offering guests a smooth cruise for all on board.

Entertainment is key, and you’ll find a 61” plasma in the lower salon and a Kaleidescape system with hundreds of movies – ideal for any movie buff. Two dive instructors are also on hand to help you perfect those dives, and a custom sport fishing boat is ideal for game fishing.

Views are plentiful, and the catamaran offers a stunning perspective of the ocean. Air conditioning keeps things comfortable for guests even on the hottest of days, and the open seating areas offer guests a truly sumptuous sailing experience.

Dining and living areas are spacious, stylish and functional, and on board Wi-Fi connection makes catching up on emails or updating social media easy.

When it comes to entertainment, you’ll find scuba-diving equipment, wake boards, a kneeboard, windsurfers, kayak, fishing equipment, 5 x Seadoo sea-scooters, 4 x mountain bikes, and an inflatable trampoline.

The sun deck of the HEMISPHERE sailing yacht is a delightful spot to start your day. You can enjoy a breakfast banquet at the alfresco dining table aft, then move amidships to stretch across the sun pads as you top-up your tan. You can alternate between relaxing in the Jacuzzi and drying off on the sun pads or sinking into the curved sofas as you flick through a book. If the sun gets too much, the awnings will give you some much-needed shade.

You’ll find more comfy, shaded seating on the main deck aft, where day beds and sofas face across the stern. If you need some air-conditioned relief, head into the main salon to find a climate-controlled lounge full of plush seats.

She is one of the yachting world’s most eagerly-awaited catamarans.  Sailing catamaran HEMISPHERE launched in July 2011.  Her build is Pendennis. In specific, Pendennis Shipyard in the United Kingdom.  Sailing catamaran HEMISPHERE was previously the world’s largest luxury sailing catamaran.

Sail catamaran HEMISPHERE is 44.2 meters in overall length. Pendennis Shipyard Ltd built the yacht.  Her design is by multihull naval architects Van Peteghem Lauriot Prevost (VPLP).  They designed 33rd America’s Cup-winning multihull.  Michael Leach Design created her interior.   The teams created a groundbreaking yacht.  She has an innovative design. In specific, it blends speed and stability with space and style.

The yacht has a draft of just over 3 meters.  She explores shallow draft destinations off-limits to deeper draft superyachts.

Her decks and rigging are uncluttered. Visible deck hardware is minimal.  The 190-foot tall mast soars into the air.  In specific, free of spreaders.  All lines run internally.  In specific, inside the mast. Tenders stow out of sight. This adds to the clean deck lines.  A port transom houses water toys.  The dive locker has a large hydraulic swim platform.

Her build is specifically for the Caribbean yacht charter market.  The multihull has an enormous flybridge with Jacuzzi tub. In addition, sun pads and shaded dining.  Further, A roomy indoor/outdoor living area complements the main deck.

Michael Leach Design created a relaxed, elegant interior. It is the epitome of contemporary styling. Subsequently, the catamaran’s amazing volume offers a high degree of luxury. In specific, without a hint of glitz.  The yacht has offset dark wood floors. Specifically by a neutral color scheme with many customized touches. For instance, seventeen different types of granite. Additionally, sixteen leather finishes. Indeed, all of these surfaces create an inviting island-living ambiance.

Currently the largest catamaran in the world , Hemisphere is just over 44m in length with a massive 16.6m beam. Her innovative design blends speed and stability with both space and style.

Hemisphere comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests in five cabins, two of the cabins being identical.

Fifteen types of stone, 18 different leathers, and a variety of finishes including walnut soles, brushed oak and wengé, mark a distinctively astonishing interior decorum best described as “Polynesian Six Star Luxury”.

Outside, the fly-bridge presents tremendous deck space for recreation, while an inviting seating area surrounds an irresistible spa pool. The main aft deck features a unique oval-shaped glass table intricately etched from beneath its surface with a contoured map of the world’s seven continents. The lavish formal dining area resides on the deck below.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided for up to 12 guests , with two identical master suites on the main deck which can be merged to form one huge suite with access to the trampolines and a small seating area.

A further two double cabins, and an additional twin suite with two pullmans are all outfitted in five-star Polynesian style.

Planning Your Itinerary

We will provide advice and guidance on the cruising area most suited to your group,  some itineraries offer exciting blue water sailing whilst others with easy beach access and short sails are more suited to families with young children.

Once you have decided on the cruising area we will make recommendations on the best routes, must see things to do, anchorages off the beaten track or perhaps the best beach bar for sun-downers – what-ever your requirements a personal itinerary will be planned for your trip.

Once on board you will be able to discuss plans each day over breakfast – the wonderful thing about a private yacht charter is that YOU get to decide the pace of the trip and that in consultation with the Captain the itinerary is entirely flexible.

Once we know your preferred cruising area we’ll send a selection of recommended yachts - you’ll see crew details, photos, menus and full specifications, we’ll then liaise with the yacht owners to confirm costs and availability.

Some yachts will have a home base for the season, and charge delivery or re-positioning fees for charters starting outside the home port.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
