Tankoa Introduces 230-Foot Milano

Tankoa Yachts in Italy has unveiled plans for the 230-foot Milano, which was developed in partnership with fellow Italian company Nauta Design.

“This project means a further step in the growth and consolidation phase that makes Tankoa one of the top players in the construction of luxury megayachts,” Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa Yachts, stated in a press release. “Fusing cutting-edge technology with meticulous attention to details, the 70-meter Milano embodies our vision for excellence.”

The Milano is inspired by the Italian city of Milan, which is where Nauta Design is based. Beam on the vessel is nearly 39 feet, and the draft is 11½ feet. Styling on the exterior is sleek, with a substantial after section for guest relaxation.

“The stretched horizontal lines establish a seamless connection with the sea’s surface and the horizon, providing an intimate connection with the natural environment,” Mario Pedol, Nauta co-founder, stated in the press release. “It embodies a reinvention of clean forms and harmonious volumes, resulting in a visual effect of lightness, purity and serenity.”

The elongated stern section includes a beach club with a lounge, convertible gymnasium, sauna, massage room and foldout platforms for extra water access. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool with sun lounging. Because the engine room is a single level on the under-lower deck, guests have a direct passage from their accommodations to the beach club.

Those lower-deck accommodations include four guest staterooms that are separate from the crew cabins, crew mess, laundry and water-toy garage. Two VIP staterooms are up on the main deck with foldout terraces. Also on the main deck, forward, is a tender garage.

The upper deck is the owners’ deck, with a stateroom, private pool, study, sky lounge, outdoor dining and helipad.

On the bridge deck is the captain’s cabin along with a cinema, while the sundeck has a lounge area and sunbeds.

The diesel-electric propulsion system on the Tankoa Milano includes four variable-speed Caterpillar C32 generators that supply electrical energy to two 1,640-kilowatt e-motors. According to Tankoa, the setup allows for a top speed of 16.5 knots.

Are there fuel cells in the Tankoa Milano specs ? Yes. Tankoa is integrating methanol fuel cells that are expected to provide up to 200 kilowatts of power. (The main advantage of methanol fuel cells, experts say, is the ease of transport of methanol, an energy-dense yet reasonably stable liquid at all environmental conditions.)

Italy-based boutique shipyard Tankoa Yachts has leveraged the prestigious maritime event to unveil the renderings for a new superyacht concept developed in partnership with Nauta Design. Christened Tankoa Milano T700, the new superyacht measures 230 feet (70 meters) in length and blends Italian elegance with state-of-the-art sustainable technologies.

As its name suggests, the concept is an ode to the city of Milan, Italy’s capital of style and fashion, known for its trendsetters and innovators. Milan is also the hometown of Nauta Design, which further explains the “Made in Italy” style of the vessel.

“As the hometown of Nauta Design and synonymous of elegance, aesthetic sensibility and intelligent design, Milan serves as a fitting symbol—a place where creative ideas manifest into concrete realities,”  explained Tankoa Yachts.

The project oozes elegance and sophistication with sleek exterior lines, a contemporary profile, and luxurious amenities, including an expansive beach club, a swimming pool, and sumptuous guest accommodations.

The imposing silhouette is characterized by stretched horizontal lines that seem to blend with the water’s surface and the horizon, allowing those onboard to create a deep connection with the surrounding ocean. According to Mario Pedol of Nauta Design, Milano T700  “embodies a reinvention of clean forms and harmonious volumes, resulting in a visual effect of lightness, purity, and serenity.”

A key feature of this project is the single-tier engine room located on a dedicated under-lower deck, which allows an unusual interior layout with four guest cabins located on the lower deck with direct access to the yacht’s expansive beach club. This brings us to another highlight of the superyacht – the stern area, which has been designed to draw you in from the get-go. The 1,560-square-foot (145-square-meter) beach club comprises an inviting lounge area, a 21-foot (6.5-meter) swimming pool, and folding side bulwarks that lower at sea level and create exquisite waterside lounges. The beach club also doubles as a wellness center, with a convertible gym, a sauna, and a massage room.

Apart from the aforementioned guest cabins, the lower deck also houses a dedicated garage area for toys and dive gear, laundry facilities, twelve crew cabins, the crew mess, and a crew gym.

Going up, the main deck impresses with an open-air lounge area that also connects to the beach area through a central staircase. A spacious indoor salon and dining area, as well as two luxurious VIP staterooms with fold-out terraces, can also be found on the main deck.

Milano’s owner will bask in comfort and luxury, with the entire upper deck dedicated to their indulgence. The space is designed to provide a private oasis with an expansive master suite that offers stunning forward views through the expansive glass walls. The owner’s suite comprises a luxurious stateroom, a walk-in closet, his and hers bathrooms, and an office area. It also has direct access to a private pool and the helipad at the bow.

This superyacht concept is like the gift that keeps on giving, as even more luxurious amenities can be found on the bridge deck. Apart from the wheelhouse, this deck houses the captain’s cabin and a cinema room for entertainment, while the sundeck will delight guests with another al-fresco lounge area complete with a bar, plush sofas, and sunbeds, offering a vantage point to admire the panoramic views.

In terms of interior design, the renderings reveal soft, delicate spaces with a white and coral color palette and environmentally friendly materials like natural woods, textured stones, and leather.

There is a natural flow between outdoor and indoor spaces onboard Milano, erasing the boundaries between the outside and inside world and allowing guests to truly commune with the surrounding ocean. Moreover, from the beach club at the stern to the private owner’s deck, this superyacht concept promises the highest level of luxury for an unmatched yachting experience. Envisioned with plenty of luxurious amenities and expansive crew quarters, Milano will also ensure a high standard of service and entertainment.

The designers’ focus on sustainability extends to the propulsion system, as the yacht can be equipped with a cutting-edge diesel-electric propulsion system or methanol fuel cells, ensuring efficient cruising and a reduced environmental footprint. The hybrid diesel-electric setup would include four variable-speed CAT C32 generators and two 1,650 kW e-motors that will allow the vessel to reach a top speed of 16.5 knots. The fuel cells will provide up to 200kWh of power, and Tankoa says the yacht is ready to switch to hydrogen technology in the future.

The inclusion of innovative and environmentally friendly power solutions showcases  Tankoa ‘s commitment to sustainability and positions the new Milano project as a pioneer in eco-conscious yachting.

Timeless daesign

Tankoa and Nauta named this new project Milano, drawing inspiration from the city itself, which reflects various aspects of the project. As the hometown of Nauta Design and the synonymous of elegance, aesthetic sensibility and intelligent design, Milan serves as a fitting symbol—a place where creative ideas manifest into concrete realities.

The new project boasts impressive sizes, measuring 70 meters in length overall, with a beam of 11.80 meters and a draft of 3.50 meters. The exteriors feature clean lines that are pure and balanced, modern and refined, reflecting a timeless design inherent to Tankoa and Nauta’s DNA.

Layout and key features

At the heart of this project lies the magnificent stern area designed to captivate from the outset. It includes superb beach club including a lounge with a convertible gym, a relaxation area featuring a sauna and massage room, and folding hull platforms that open at sea level.

Adding to the allure, an exquisite swimming pool adorns the exterior, accompanied by an expansive sun lounging area fully customizable to the owner’s preferences. Lowering the side bulwark platforms further expands the beach club’s space, transforming it into a spectacular private sea lounge, offering additional square meters of luxury and relaxation.

A real key feature is the single-tier diesel electric engine room located on the under-lower deck, which allows direct passage from the guest accommodation into the beach club on the lower deck.

On the lower deck, adjacent to four guest suites there is a specific garage for water toys and dive gear, the crew mess, laundry facilities, crew gym, and twelve crew cabins.

On the main deck guests encounter an amazing open-air lounge seamlessly connected to the beach area through central stairs, followed by the main saloon and dining area.

Further forward, there are two spacious VIP staterooms featuring fold-out terraces, a galley, and a forward garage capable of accommodating two tenders, measuring 9 meters and 8.5 meters respectively.

Dedicated entirely to the owner’s indulgence, the upper deck boasts a vast master stateroom with breathtaking forward views, complemented by access to a private pool and helipad at the bow. This luxurious suite includes a walk-in closet, His and Hers bathrooms, and a study. Moving aft, there is the sky lounge and an outdoor dining area.

On the bridge deck, in addition to the wheelhouse, there is the captain’s cabin and a cinema room for guests’ entertainment. The sundeck features another al fresco lounge area with bar, sunbeds and two l-shaped, forward-facing sofas, providing the perfect setting to relish the awe-inspiring panoramas.

New technology

In line with Tankoa’s commitment to sustainable technologies, the Milano project embraces a diesel-electric propulsion system. This innovative setup includes four variable speed generators (CAT C32, with a maximum output power of 940 ekW) tasked with supplying electrical energy to two e-motors, each boasting 1650kW, enabling a top speed of 16.5 knots and powering the yacht’s hotel services.

The yacht will be equipped with fuel cells providing up to 200kW of power. Tankoa is partnering with leading suppliers to integrate methanol fuel cells, which currently offer the best combination of sustainability, comfort and safety. This initiative remains open to future advancements in technologies for secure and efficient hydrogen storage.

DESIGN SENZA TEMPO

Tankoa e Nauta hanno chiamato questo nuovo progetto Milano, traendo ispirazione dalla città stessa, che riflette vari aspetti del progetto. Essendo la città natale di Nauta Design e sinonimo di eleganza, sensibilità estetica e design intelligente, Milano diventa un simbolo più che appropriato - un luogo dove le idee creative si trasformano in realtà concrete.

Il progetto Milano vanta dimensioni considerevoli, misurando 70 metri di lunghezza complessiva, con una larghezza di 11,80 metri e un pescaggio di 3,50 metri. Gli esterni presentano linee pure e bilanciate, moderne e raffinate, riflettendo un design senza tempo intrinseco al DNA di Tankoa e Nauta.

"Le linee orizzontali allungate creano un collegamento senza soluzione di continuità con la superficie del mare e l'orizzonte, fornendo un legame intimo con l'ambiente circostante", afferma Mario Pedol, Co-fondatore di Nauta, descrivendo l'etica progettuale del progetto. “Il progetto Milano incorpora forme pulite e volumi armoniosi che portano a un effetto visivo di leggerezza, purezza e serenità. LAYOUT E CARATTERISTICHE PRINCIPALI

Al centro di questo progetto si trova la magnifica area di poppa, progettata per catturare immediatamente l'attenzione. Include un superbo beach-club con una sala lounge dotata di palestra convertibile, un'area relax con sauna e sala massaggi e murate laterali abbattibili che si aprono al livello del mare.

Ad aggiungere ulteriore fascino ecco un’elegante piscina esterna, accompagnata da un'ampia area prendisole completamente personalizzabile secondo le preferenze dell’armatore. Abbattendo le murate laterali si espande ulteriormente lo spazio del beach-club, trasformandolo in una spettacolare lounge privata sul mare, offrendo ulteriori metri quadrati di lusso e relax. Una vera caratteristica chiave è la sala macchine su un unico livello situata sotto il ponte inferiore, che consente un passaggio diretto dagli alloggi degli ospiti al club sulla spiaggia del ponte inferiore.

Sul ponte inferiore, adiacente alle quattro suite degli ospiti, c'è un garage specifico per water toys e attrezzature per immersioni, una laundry, la zona equipaggio, dodici cabine e una palestra entrambe ad uso dell’equipaggio.

Sul ponte principale gli ospiti si trovano di fronte a un’incredibile lounge all'aperto collegata al beach-club tramite scale centrali, seguita dal salone principale e dalla zona pranzo. Più avanti, ci sono due spaziose suite VIP con terrazze a scomparsa, una cucina e un garage anteriore capace di ospitare due tender, lunghi rispettivamente 9 metri e 8,5 metri.

Dedicato interamente all’armatore, il ponte superiore vanta una vasta cabina armatoriale con una vista panoramica mozzafiato verso prua, completata dall'accesso a una piscina privata e all'eliporto a prua. Questa lussuosa suite include un guardaroba walk-in, bagni Lui e Lei e uno studio. Spostandosi verso poppa, ecco il salone panoramico e l'area pranzo all’aperto.

Sul ponte di comando, oltre alla timoneria, troviamo la cabina del capitano e una sala cinema per l'intrattenimento degli ospiti. Il sundeck presenta un'altra area lounge all'aperto dotata di bar, lettini prendisole e due divani a forma di L rivolti fronte marcia, offrendo l'ambientazione perfetta per godersi panorami mozzafiato.

NUOVE TECNOLOGIE

In linea con l'impegno di Tankoa verso tecnologie sostenibili, il progetto Milano supporta un sistema di propulsione diesel-elettrico. Questo innovativo impianto include quattro generatori a velocità variabile (CAT C32, con una potenza massima di 940 ekW) incaricati di fornire energia elettrica a due motori elettrici, ognuno da 1650 kW, consentendo una velocità massima di 16.5 nodi e alimentando i servizi hotel di bordo.

Lo yacht sarà dotato di fuel cell in grado di fornire fino a 200 kW di potenza. Tankoa sta collaborando con i principali fornitori del settore per integrare fuel cell a metanolo, che attualmente offrono la migliore combinazione di sostenibilità, comfort e sicurezza.

Questa iniziativa rimane aperta a futuri progressi nelle tecnologie per lo stoccaggio sicuro ed efficiente dell'idrogeno.

Tankoa Yachts Introduces Brand New 70mt Milano

Elegant and aesthetic with intelligent design, Tankoa Yachts’ 70mt Milano project marks an exciting expansion of the Tankoa range. She embraces the Italian yard’s vision for excellence, beautifully combining cutting-edge technology with meticulous attention to details.

Tankoa Yachts’ new 70mt Milano yacht is developed in collaboration with Nauta design, highlighting the Italian yard’s dedication to fostering successful partnerships with world-renowned designers.

The iconic Italian city of Milan has acted as an inspiration for this project, as a location which exudes elegance, aesthetic sensibility and intelligent design. This new 70m project features clean exterior lines that are pure and balanced, whilst also being modern and refinished, reflecting the timeless nature of Tankoa and Nauta’s DNA. 

Mario Pedol, Co-Founder of Nauta Design, commented: ‘The stretched horizontal lines establish a seamless connection with the sea’s surface and the horizon, providing an intimate connection with the natural environment… It embodies a reinvention of clean forms and harmonious volumes, resulting in a visual effect of lightness, purity and serenity.’ 

The stern area of the 70mt Milano is a highlight of this project, featuring a beach club with a lounge and a convertible gym, a relaxation area which includes a sauna and massage room, and folding hull platforms that open at sea level. If these features weren’t impressive enough, she also boasts a spectacular swimming pool with a fully-customisable large sun lounging area. 

An open-air lounge can be found on the main deck, which seamlessly connects to the beach area, followed by the main saloon and dining area. Two spacious VIP staterooms are located further forward, alongside a galley and a garage able to accommodate two tenders. 

The luxurious nature of this project can be seen in the vast master stateroom which is dedicated entirely to the Owner’s indulgence, found on the upper deck and offering unparalleled views. It has access to a private pool and helipad, whilst also boasting a walk-in wardrobe, His and Hers bathrooms and a study.

Alongside the wheelhouse, the bridge deck features a sensational cinema room, whilst the sundeck boasts an al fresco lounge area with a bar alongside a number of varied lounging options, acting as the perfect place to relax and enjoy the awe-inspiring panoramas. 

Tankoa is highly committed to sustainable technologies, something which is reflected in the design of this new project. She features a diesel-electric propulsion system, with four variable speed generators, allowing for a top speed of 16.5 knots. Tankoa is set to partner with leading suppliers to integrate methanol fuel cells into her design, which will offer the best combination of sustainability, comfort and safety. With regards to efficient hydrogen storage technologies, the 70mt Milano remains open to secure and efficient future advancements.

Nauta 70m Moonflower Motor Yacht

Nauta Yachts announces an avant-garde motoryacht project with construction to start by the end of the year. “Innovative design, lots of open-air space, close contact with the water, light-filled and airy interiors, flexible layout and furniture solutions… These were the ‘must have’ features requested by the owner that drove the exterior styling, general arrangement and interior design,” says Mario Pedol, co-founder of Nauta Yachts in Milan.

The exterior styling reflects Nauta’s trademark preference for clean, uncluttered design devoid of fussy or superfluous detailing. Visual lightness, seamless outdoor/indoor connection and opening to the surrounding environment, predominantly horizontal lines, long overhangs and the extensive use of glass gently inclined from the vertical, highlight the balanced, low-rise proportions, while the chamfered sheer line amidships adds a dynamic aspect to the displacement hull. The end result is a graceful yet powerful profile that belies a volume of 1,450GT distributed over 5 deck levels (plus an under-lower deck).

The expansive Beach Club is a very spectacular area, where Nauta’s design philosophy is mostly visible .
Its full-beam lounge with fire pit is put in direct connection with the surrounding environment through the glazed transom door and the side (port and starboard) opening terraces, also enriched by a large bar and a ‘Nemo’ window, provided with a glass that descends below the waterline.

A real innovation is the patent-pending system for part of the above mentioned walkway and the fold-down bulwarks, which can transform the sea level aft deck into 117 sq. m., 270° view spectacular terrace.
Integrated into the stern platform is a sea-water swimming pool that is ideal for children or guests who seek sheltered alternatives to open-water bathing. The pool design features a hydraulic mechanism for raising the teak bottom that closes flush with the deck when the pool is not in use.
Adjacent to the indoor Beach Club area, and just forward of it, a Spa and wellness areafeatures hamman, sauna, emotional shower and changing room. The upper deck is dedicated to the owner’s accommodation.  A further key feature is the spectacular circular staircase wrapping the central lift which connects all decks from lower deck to sun deck.
Propulsion is diesel-electric with fixed drive shafts. The package offers reduced noise and vibration along with the added flexibility and redundancy of multiple generators. Two electric motors (1500kW @1800rpm) are mounted on the drive shafts that can be powered by a combination of 5 diesel generators (3 x 1000 kWe and 2 x 500 kWe), providing a top speed of 16 knots and a range at economical speed in excess of 6,000nm.
