SWEDE 52 - a reborn legendary winner and a sophisticated weekend sailor. Featuring slim heritage lines from Knud H Reimers combined with modern performance technology.

The elegant Swede 52, previously named Swede 55/75 according to Skerry Cruiser rules of measurement, has been produced in 45 examples and is internationally renowned. Original drawings from Knud H Reimers and modification of keel and rig by Sven Olof Ridder and Olof Hildebrand.

Displacement: 7.5 tons

Keel weight: 4.1 tons (54%)

Sail surface: 105+ sqm

As a lightweight yacht, the Swede 52 is an exclusive and easy to sail exhilarating weekend sailor in the Spirit of Tradition class where it constitutes the high-calibre Scandinavian option. This is an extremely fast yacht even with today's standards, especially in tacking. 

These exquisite winning lines have now been refined to suit a modern day sophisticated sailor and fulfil the needs for an exhilarating weekend sailor.

Swede 52 will from 2021 only be built with the same exclusive mahogany/teak deck and cockpit seen on the Swede 41 Sleipnir. Interior in Regatta or Cruising versions.

Forgus 52 is a solid pilot house blue-water cruiser designed and built in Orust, Sweden, a yacht capable to take you anywhere.

This Forgus 52 spent it’s first years in the Mediterranean and was bought in 2013 by its current owner. It was upgraded for ocean sailing and did a trip to Caribbean and North USA and was back in Sweden 2017, being serviced and prepared for new adventures by Orust Yacht Service.

The 5-cabin layout includes a large owners aft cabin with enclosed heads, two forward cabins and two midship cabins.

A solid yacht with plenty of space, superb for long term cruising and live aboard… ready for new adventures!

What is Capsize Screening Formula (CSF)?

The capsize screening value for Swede 52 is 1.53, indicating that this boat could - if evaluated by this formula alone - be accepted to participate in ocean races.

The immersion rate is defined as the weight required to sink the boat a certain level. The immersion rate for Swede 52 is about 321 kg/cm, alternatively 1800 lbs/inch. Meaning: if you load 321 kg cargo on the boat then it will sink 1 cm. Alternatively, if you load 1800 lbs cargo on the boat it will sink 1 inch.

Deck & interior layout.

The interior layout of the Sweden Yachts 42 is both practical and spacious. The standard layout provides three double berths along with a comfortable dining area, L-shaped galley, navigation table and two shower rooms. At Sweden Yachts we pride ourselves on being adaptable to our customer’s bespoke requirements, any layout can be altered to suit the customer.

The deck has been kept as clear as possible without compromising any sailing or safety components.
