Walk Through
Among the top-selling long range cruisers of her era, SUZY BELLE has been luxuriously updated and meticulously maintained. A great live-aboard or long-range cruiser with very economical D-rated 275hp Caterpillars. The low profile and solid fiberglass hull of this yacht results in an extremely stable and safe vessel. She features a spacious mid-ships master with private entrance. Her bright and airy salon is adjacent to the on-deck galley with convenient day head nearby. She features a timeless handsome profile, great visibility, beautiful high gloss teak interior, excellent handling characteristics, full walkaround decks with Portuguese bridge and great systems - a first choice for a cruising couple or for spending quality time with family.
A large aft deck/cockpit with built in seating leads into a spacious salon through double doors, or allows easy access with built in steps to an integrated swim platform. Covered walk around decks with bulwarks and a Portuguese bridge forward make line handling simple and provide safety at sea. The foredeck has a built in seat ahead of the Portuguese bridge, and easy access to the double capstan windlass with a substantial anchoring system and ground tackle.
The main salon and galley are adjoined with abundant built in seating, dining area, large opening windows, on deck head, granite galley counters, pantry, and with exceptional headroom provide a very spacious feeling. Moving three steps up and forward is the raised pilothouse, with built in seating, hinged table, Stidd helm seat, opening port and starboard doors, chart and additional storage areas and great visibility. From an inside staircase on the starboard side of the Pilothouse there is access to a huge flybridge with a Stidd seat, built in seating, vast storage areas, tender and davit.
A curved staircase from the pilothouse leads to the two guest staterooms, including a large guest stateroom with upper and lower berths to port, large guest head and shower to starboard. The VIP centerline queen berth stateroom in located further forward with ensuite access to guest head.

In 1996, Arthur DeFever designed a new fiberglass 53 Alaskan RPHY. This innovation paved the way for the next generation of Alaskan Yachts, including the “Grand Alaskan” that was launched in 1997. The Alaskan 43 was unveiled at the 1998 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. A huge success, it became an instant sensation in the yachting community and has led to the production of more stylish and seaworthy yachts in the Alaskan Yacht model line. Alaskan Yachts’ fleet ranges from 55 to 100 feet, with its newest build, the 100-foot Alaskan Trideck.

Alaskan 66 MKII Alaskan 66 MKII DetailsPress Release On The New Alaskan Yachts 66 MKII SEATTLE YACHTS BUYS ALASKAN BRAND, LAUNCHES RE-INTRODUCTION OF LEGENDARY LINE OF LONG-RANGE TRAWLER-STYLE YACHTS Jupiter, Florida – Peter Whiting, the Managing Partner of Seattle Northwest Yachts, LLC, announced today that his firm has purchased the Alaskan brand and is in the process of contracting to build a contemporary version of the legendary line of Defever-designed, long-range, trawler-style yachts. Speaking at Seattle Yachts' U.S. east coast office in Jupiter, Florida, Whiting said the re-activation of the Alaskan brand will begin with an Alaskan 66 Mk II that will sport a wide-bodied 19'6" beam hull and interior accommodations developed to meet the exacting tastes and requirements of today's market. According to Whiting, the new Mk II is being designed and engineered by prominent naval architect, Stephen Seaton, known worldwide for his trademark trawler-style yachts. Said Whiting, "Stephen Seaton is without doubt the most appropriate naval architect in the market segment to carry the modernization of the Alaskan line forward. We've been working with Steve for several years in the development of our Northwest line, and in that time, we've grown exceptionally confident in his keen abilities and insights when it comes to long range, ocean-going yachts." Whiting also announced that Seattle Yachts of Anacortes and Seattle, Washington, and more recently Jupiter, Florida, has contracted with well-known marine industry consultant, Phil Friedman, of the Port Royal Group, Fort Lauderdale, to manage the development and construction of the new Alaskan line, as well as to provide overall new-build management to the firm’s clients. Whiting pointed out that Friedman, a former CEO of Palmer Johnson Yachts, has in-depth experienced in the construction of luxury yachts and small commercial craft in the 20- to 60-meter range. Friedman explained that the company’s “Alaskan redux” embodies the central principles of "value-engineering" — an approach that delivers maximum product value per unit cost, not by skimping on materials, build technique, or outfit, but by concentrating effort and investment on those elements of the yacht that are key to fulfilling its mission. Friedman commented that, “Our primary objective for the new Alaskan line is to deliver a rugged, seaworthy, comfortable, and good looking long-range cruising yacht at a compelling price. The key to being able to do that is to understand which features genuinely matter and which marketing-driven bells and whistles add cost without contributing significantly to utility or enjoyment." The company will introduce it plans for the new Alaskan line to interested yachtsman at the upcoming Palm Beach International Boat Show, March 22 – 25, at Seattle Yachts’ in-water display.
