Anchors Restaurant and Bar is located at the Bellerive Yacht Club on the Eastern shores of Hobart, with ample parking and superb facilities for members and guests. Our venue overlooks the impressive BYC Marina on the Derwent River and the surrounding boardwalk and buildings on the shoreline. From the natural beauty and casual atmosphere of the waterfront location, to the friendly and accommodating staff, the Bellerive Yacht Club offers a spectacular venue for all.

Anchors Restaurant is open Monday for dinner, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for both lunch and dinner and bookings are appreciated. Bookings can be made from our website. You can reserve seats at Anchors Restaurant on Thursday and Friday for lunch or dinner. We accept bookings 30 days in advance for groups of up to 12. If you need more advanced bookings or for larger groups please email   [email protected] .

The wine selection is varied and reasonably priced. Some small changes may occur to Dining Room times and days around Public Holidays – please check with the Bar and Dining Room staff.

A variety of social events are organised throughout the year by the House and Social Committee. Meals and functions are popular, so reservations are recommended. Just ask the Staff, check the Noticeboards for details or keep updated on our Facebook page of what’s on and when.

‘Happy Hours’ with reduced bar prices are held on Thursdays from 5.30pm to 6.30 pm. Live entertainment playing each Sunday afternoon from 3pm – 6pm.

Our  Marina Bar  is located downstairs on the waterfront and is open  Saturdays and Sundays. 

Opening hours are 11am – 7pm with a special Small Plates menu on offer 2-6pm . A perfect spot for a morning coffee, an afternoon light meal with drinks or catch up with friends! During the summer we often have live music on a Sunday afternoon – check out the latest on our facebook page or events calendar for those details.

The Bellerive Yacht Club is situated at Bellerive, overlooking Kangaroo Bay. It was established in 1926 to promote and encourage yachting and to provide facilities for its members. It has grown to over 1000 members with assets of over $3.5 million and an annual cash turnover of nearly $2 million.

The club is a family club and partners and children are encouraged to participate in club events and activitiesImprovements are continually being made to all Club facilities and the club prides itself on providing good facilities at very competitive rates.

Our marina holds 170 vessels and we are in the proces of lodging a Development Application to increase the marina size to 270. The Clubs runs Twilight sailing on Wednesday evenings during the summer and Saturday racing throughout the year.

“Bellerive quayside restaurant at the Yacht Club” Review of Anchors Restaurant

A large site, suitable for functions - I hear they are very good. We went in for lunch on a freezing winter day and received a warm welcome and very competent service. We decided to sit in the warm sunny floor to ceiling windowed area with the best view of the snow covered Mt Wellington and the sunny Bellerive marina area - such an interesting view, which not only included the yachts, but a working yacht service area - fascinating!. Wine list very good, with Tasmanian wine at very reasonable cost. Lunch included an entrée taste plate, which was so good I had one of the entrees as 'lunch'. Partner enjoyed the salmon, which was perfectly cooked - just done and not over. Lunch with wine for 2 was $92 (one main, one entrée, one taster for 2). We loved the melt in your mouth arancini balls! Prawn value was 7 for $12.

This is part of the Bellerive Yacht Club, and perhaps is a little known dining venue. It is not open every day, so make sure you phone and find out when it is open before heading there. We had lunch, and it was very good. The service was really efficient and also very friendly. All four of us enjoyed our meal, but mine was particularly good. I often have a salmon fillet when dining out. I have never been disappointed, but this was possibly the best salmon I have ever had. Cooked to perfection (I asked that it be cooked through) and very tasty. It was served on a fennel salad, and the balance of all the flavours and textures was excellent. Prices are good and the wine and beer list adequate and well priced. Desserts don't appear to be made in house, but the one that we ordered was pleasant and again, well priced. The view over the Marina is wonderful, with the mountain in the background. I have already organised to return for lunch in a couple of weeks' time!

Functions are a speciality of the Bellerive Yacht Club, providing facilities for weddings, dinners, cocktail parties, meetings and all special occasions. Being just a 10-minute drive from the Hobart CBD makes it conveniently close to central Hobart, and with nearby accommodation, it’s an accessible and lovely venue for you and your guests.

The Bellerive Yacht Club boasts a light, bright space that has unbeatable waterfront views extending out over Kangaroo Bay and across to Mount Wellington.

From the natural beauty and casual atmosphere of the waterfront location, to the friendly and accommodating staff, the Bellerive Yacht Club offers a spectacular venue for a function that is specially crafted to meet your unique vision for the day.

Anchors Room

The Anchors Room, our main function space, is both private and versatile, and can host a function from 30 to 150 people.

For a seated dinner, the venue is ideal for up to 130 guests, and for a cocktail affair, 150 guests can comfortably be catered for. The Anchors Room lends itself to minimalism; low centrepieces and natural or nautical colours, to make the most of the 180-degree view across the waterfront.

A large outdoor deck surrounds the room, offering a beautiful space to make the most of the views in the afternoon sun, and the night-time lights across the bay.

A full bar with a wide selection of beer, wine and spirits is available. The catering is handled in house, and our Chef will work with you to craft a comprehensive menu based on their packages that suits your tastes.

Buffet and carvery menus are available, as are shared platters and plated options of two or three course dinners.

Venue staff are dedicated to developing the perfect menu for your function that suits you and your guests, and the utmost care is taken to adhere to all dietary requirements.

Upon booking, the Anchors Room is available exclusively to you and your guests for the day/night. This allows the room to be conveniently all yours to style on the day and enjoy throughout.

The Marina bar, located below the main function room and with level access from the carpark, opens to the picturesque and spacious marina courtyard.

For a seated dinner, the venue is ideal for up to 50 guests, and for a cocktail affair, 80-100 guests can comfortably be catered for.

It’s an ideal spot for pre-reception drinks, and a great way to make the most of long summer afternoons in a gorgeous outdoor space.

Our boardroom can seat up to 18 for private meetings. Boardroom contains a large whiteboard, 70" TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
