REI Kayak Classes

Offering a variety of guided tours for paddlers of all experience levels, REI’s coastal kayaking excursions are a fun and exhilarating way to get the whole family out on the water. On the Brooks Island Kayak Tour, paddlers will enjoy a leisurely tour that passes through the Richmond Marina, which is home to the Kaiser Shipyards and Rosie the Riveter National Historic Park. From there, you’ll enter the waters bordering the Brooks Island Regional Preserve, where you might catch a glimpse of leopard sharks, bat rays, and seals playing in the surrounding waters. Lara’s Fine Dining

For elegant, Italian-inspired cuisine, stunning waterfront views, and a lovely historic dining room, head over to Lara’s Fine Dining, only a short distance from the marina. Enjoy a glass of vino from a stunning house selection before starting your meal with a round of fresh oysters or a delicious bruschetta. Lara’s has a fantastic selection of entrees, including specialty pizzas, pastas, seafood, steaks, chops, and chicken. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations are recommended and can be made online.

Anh Restaurant & Bar

This charming waterfront eatery is proudly serving elevated takes on authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Enjoy a wide variety of bold flavors and comforting favorites, including fried dumplings, crispy crab rolls, aromatic pho, noodle dishes, signature entrees, and a tantalizing selection of desserts. TRAILHEAD INFORMATION

The Richmond Marina provides access to the Richmond Shoreline and beyond, with sweeping views of the Bay Bridge, Brooks Island, San Francisco, and Angel Island in the distance. The Marina provides a protected launch and Marina Inner Harbor Basin provides an ideal location for paddling that is sheltered from the winds.

A concessionaire, 510 Waterline, offers SUP lessons and equipment rentals.

Boat Facilities

Boat launch facilities consist of an ADA low-freeboard dock with a kayak assist and two SUP handrails. The Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) constructed the ADA launch in 2018. This facility also includes a kayak staging area, ADA gangway, transition plates, and kayak roll-bars with a transfer system.

There is also a corrugated cement boat ramp and two high-freeboard docks for larger craft. The Marina offers public boat storage for $30/month for outside storage and $40/month for inside storage.

From I-580, take the Cutting Boulevard / Harbour Way South exit and turn onto Harbour Way South. Follow the round for approximately 1 mile then make a left onto Hall Avenue. The Marina is located at the end of Hall Avenue.

The 74 bus line stops at Regatta Boulevard and Marina Way, approximately 0.8 miles from the Marina.

Ample paid parking is available at the Marina. Currently parking is $10 for 24 hours or $20 for 48 hours, which can be paid at an electronic kiosk. There are also four free Public Shore parking spaces in the business park lot next to the marina.

ADA restrooms with running water are located near the top of the boat ramp.

Marina Bay provides a variety of nearby amenities including boat storage, a boat washdown area, restaurants, walking paths, benches, and restrooms.

Accessibility

The recently constructed kayak launch has been designed to meet ADA standards, with a wide gangway, transition plates, transfer seat, and paved path of  travel.

The shoreside facilities include a variety of accessible facilities, including a path of travel (not marked), sidewalks, restroom, and parking that all appear to be ADA accessible and well maintained.

Safety Tips

This launch is used primarily by motorized boats and can get crowded on weekends, so care needs to be taken to avoid user conflicts. Motorized boats and sailboats are regularly moving throughout the marina, particularly near the mouth of the marina. In addition, large ships utilize the Santa Fe Channel, located to the west of the Marina, so small non-motorized boats need to take caution to avoid these vessels.

There is a 300-foot security exclusion zone around the Chevron Long Wharf, located 3.5 miles northwest of the Marina.

The Harbormaster is onsite daily between 9AM and 5PM.

Wildlife Tips

Brooks Island is located approximately one mile offshore from the Marina. Brooks Island hosts 18 species of nesting birds, including herons, gulls, and terns. Brooks Island is also home to a secondary harbor seal haul-out site. Access to Brooks Island is only allowed seasonally on the western sandspit of the Island or as part of a scheduled East Bay Regional Park District naturalist tour. Trips to Brooks Island can be scheduled through EBRPD Reservations Department.

The Albany Mudflats Ecological Reserve / State Marine Park, an important feeding ground for a variety of shorebirds and waterfowl, is located approximately 2.5 miles to the southeast.  The Albany Mudflats are extremely shallow during high tides and large mudflats are  exposed at low tides. Due to the potential to get stranded and for sensitive habitat considerations, paddlers are not allowed to enter this area.

Very nice Harbor!! Lots of Boats and Yachts docked in the harbor. The paved trail around the harbor is part of the Bay Trail that goes all over the Bay Area. This place is really clean, and on sunny days you can see Brooks Island really well. Easy parking if you drive here, and if/when I get me a Yacht, I'll be rolling through here like a boss!!!

Nice place to launch boat any time of the day and night, low or high tide. Facilities are always clean and cost is really reasonable

This is a great place to get all kinds of different exercise. You can take a nice slow walk at a leisurely pace, put in a good run or break out the sweat with a nice ride. The paved trail section has become quite long and you can experience everything from stunningly beautiful sunrises and sunsets to playground parks for the kiddies to quiet spaces to cast for fish to having a picnic (geese frequent the area though so you MUST have a blanket you don't care about or risk goose poo stains in your clothes) to running your dog. Just be cautious and respectful to others when passing, and help everyone enjoy this gem. Parking is plentiful in various areas and safety doesn't *seem* to be a huge issue with so many other people right nearby. Have a great time at Marina Bay, we sure do.

They keep raising rates, yet the docks keep getting worse. Sound more like profit taking rather than customer satisfaction.

Pros: * Nice people in the harbor * Good security Cons: * Filthy Canadian Goose runway results in large amounts of bird s#!t all over the boat. * Lots of "marginal" boats.

Myself and my girlfriend along with our 2 greyhounds live aboard here on a 50' ketch. This Marina was a plan b for us because we wanted to be in Sausalito but after being here for a while and talking to folks who've had their boats all over the bay, we realize how lucky we are to be here. The marina is kept very clean and has some of the nicest bathrooms of ANY Marina I've ever been in. Also, access to the docks is controlled by fob so I don't worry about security. The staff and harbormaster are as nice as they come. I highly recommend MBYH!

Checked this place out with a friend a couple of weeks ago. It was my first time here, but from initial reaction, I can tell you this place was very friendly. I had a lot of questions, and the staff answered all of them. They were very knowledgeable and even showed me around a bit. They had wi fi, laundry, even showers. They helped me out without any hesitation. The location is great too, and the sailing school is right around the corner. The location is also prime, and I have yet to voice any concerns nor do I have anything bad to say about the very friendly, professional, and honest service I've received. I have been in this area for a half-dozen years, including keeping a boat in the Marina. The management and staff do a good job of keeping the facility up, and balancing between decent tenants and marginal types, and being proactive about future issues. I love it here! This is the undiscovered jewel of the Bay, and we all consider ourselves citizens of the Point! There are a few distinct social communities of very friendly people oriented around their home docks (D, E, and F) as well as a stable group on-shore in the property developments. Having Salute and Amini's nearby, as well as the cluster of business near CVS really helps with a sense of community.

Problems with stray currents off green wire. Staff not educated or have understanding of finding or mitigating problem. Galvanic isolator is a must! This is a Hot Marina! I've measured up to 80 Milliamps! Second problem is book keeping. Make sure you keep your receipts when paying slip fees! It's common for them to put Liens on boats eventhough everything is paid up.

Great Marina, very clean and great group of other boaters. The staff in the office seem to be very helpful and are great to work with. However, Marina is hot. would not recommend your boat being left plugged in because of green wire strays, unless you have a galvanic isolator. At my location, stray current shore power averages between 70mA and 80mA If you have a steel boat, I would not recommend this marina.

I have had my boat there for the past 6 months with no problems at all. Primo bay location and the price is right. Security seems good and there is a good group of livaboards who keep an eye out. The staff has been easy to work with and friendly. It can get VERY windy. There seems to be a funnel right there as it can be blowing 20 in the marina and flat out on the bay. The water is about 20 feet deep throughout the marina at mid tide. There is a narrow stretch where it is a little thinner on the way to the main shipping channel. The afternoon reach on the way home from Angel Island makes for an awesome relaxing end to a day of sailing. My only complaints? Parking is a little far...but not too bad. The wind can shake things up a bit. No gas/diesel. *Update*...Now with almost 2 years in the marina... Still a happy customer. The channel between the marina and the main shipping channel has been dredged and is plenty deep at all times. Last time I went through, my depth sounder bottomed out at 16 feet. I am in no way, shape, or form connected to the marina or its management in any way other than a paying customer and boat owner. *****This review stopped showing up for some reason***

Manila Yacht Club and Marina, Manila, Metro Manila

Established in 1927, the Manila Yacht Club and Marina is one of the oldest yacht clubs in all of Asia, and is nestled in the scenic Manila Bay. It is also near other well-known landmarks in the city, such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the headquarters of the Philippine Navy, and the US Embassy. Facilities in the marina include a launching ramp and a fueling center, and the club itself is host to a restaurant and gorgeous function rooms. The Manila Yacht Club only welcomes visitors who arrive by boat, and it charges an initial security deposit of USD 750 upon arrival. Club membership is mandatory for medium and long-term mooring of boats.

Subic Bay Yacht Club, Zambales

The Subic Bay Yacht Club, which was founded in 1998, upholds itself as the country’s premier yacht club. It operates in the deepest bay in the country, and can host vessels well beyond 50 meters in length. Already benefitting from the innate beauty of the Zambales mountains surrounding it, the club hosts a number of other attractions, including its luxury accommodations, swimming pools, and its own movie theater, bowling alley, and nightclub. Those who venture outside of the club’s premises can also shop for well-priced imported goods at the Subic Freeport Zone, engage in water sports , or sign up for diving excursions.

Punta Fuego Yacht Club, Batangas

Peaceful Punta Fuego is a mecca for those who love the sport of sailing. As per its official website, the Punta Fuego Yacht Club aims to serve “a dynamic and vibrant community of boat enthusiasts and yacht owners.” This it does by playing host to a diverse population of watercrafts, from large catamarans and mono-hull yachts to small boats. Non-members of the club may use the berths for up to 3 weeks, and can refuel at the marina’s fueling station. The yacht club offers other amenities such as locker rooms, shower rooms, Internet facilities, a chart room, and a restaurant called Barracuda Bar, which serves delicious fares. Outside of the yachting crowd, Punta Fuego Yacht Club also caters to those wishing to celebrate weddings, conferences, and corporate events in their opulent quarters.

Puerto Galera Yacht Club, Oriental Mindoro

Further south, yachtsmen may moor at the Puerto Galera Yacht Club in Oriental Mindoro, an island location that’s home to tourist attractions like the Sabang Wreck dive site, lively beachfront resorts, and the Malasimbo Music Festival. Puerto Galera Yacht Club has been in operation for almost thirty years and lends services such as refueling provisions and yacht repairs from its marina. Boat owners also enjoy optimal convenience if mooring here, as they can also shop for spare parts in the nearby Batangas port.

Busuanga Yacht Club, Puerta del Sol Bay Marina, Palawan

Beautiful Palawan is a bucket-list destination for many, especially those who dream of cruising its crystalline waters. Accommodating the yachting community in this island province is the Busuanga Yacht Club, which promises secure mooring amidst breathtaking white-sand beaches. Cebu Yacht Club, Mactan Island, Cebu

The historic Mactan Island in Cebu was the site of Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan’s arrival in the Philippines. Now known as a commercial hub that hosts a prolific furniture and musical instruments industries, Mactan is also the location of the Cebu Yacht Club, an institution that is beloved by the locals. Aside from being an ideal spot to restock on much-needed fuel and supplies, the Cebu Yacht Club is also a trusted club to commission for boat repairs. The space is quite roomy, in fact, with 56 berths that can fit vessels up to 15 meters in length. The club also has a boat ramp that can accommodate boats up to 18 meters in length. Bohemia Bay from Air and Sea

Back in 2015 a retired couple and friend of Bohemia Bay Yacht Harbour recorded this brief video which offers a glimpse of our marina from both air and sea. This couple maintains the “ Vagabond Epicurean ” YouTube channel.

This video highlights the overall layout of our marina, particularly the approach from the Bohemia River. Although we have made numerous improvements since 2015, what both slip owners and renters truly rave about are our amenities.

Nature and Recreation

Bohemia Bay offers more than just great access to the Bohemia River. Our marina is situated on the far side of a large wooded area which is also part of our property. In fact, upon entering our property you must still travel another 3/4 of a mile before our slips come into sight. Consider scheduling a visit.

Bohemia Bay is home to a large number of sailing vessels. This is probably due to the somewhat sheltered nature of the Bohemia River and our marina itself. Of course, more sailing vessels means more opportunity to learn from others who share your passion. Consider renting a slip.

The Newport Charter Yacht Show, held annually in picturesque downtown Newport, R.I., will be held June 23-26, 2024 at Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard. More than 350 supporters and donors attend this sold-out event each year to enjoy dinner, dancing, and a cocktail hour ‘yacht hop’ at Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard,” Millerick concluded.
