Do your charters include a captain?

No. We provide you with a list of pre-approved captains to choose from. We have pre-selected those with the best sailing experience and hospitality skills, destination expertise, and a passion for the region.

Do your boats have a restroom onboard?

The Catamaran does. The Pontoon boats do not. However, your Captain will know of places to stop to use the restroom along your journey. We make every effort to provide you a comfortable and convenient experience for your day on the water.

What is the maximum number of passengers?

The person chartering the boat (you) may bring 12 guests with you for a total of 13 people.

Can we bring food, snacks, or drinks on the boat?

Absolutely. Please use plastic containers for beverages. 

Can we bring alcohol on the boat?

Yes. Feel free to bring alcoholic beverages for those over 21.

Where do we go on the charters?

Drop anchor at Crab Island, grab food at a waterfront restaurant, or go island or beach hopping for the day. Browse our trip suggestions  here.

Does Crab Island Luxury Adventures provide snorkeling equipment?

No. If you decide to snorkel, you will need to bring your own equipment.

Where do we board the boat?

After you select a Captain, they will be in touch with you the day prior to departure and will provide you with valuable information about your trip including the pick-up location in Santa Rosa Beach. 

What is your cancellation policy?

• Crab Island Luxury Adventures reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any charter due to inclement weather or any other case of inability to provide the tour. 
• Full refunds in the form of credit are only available with at least  72 hours written advanced notice .
• Any necessary cancellations  MUST  be made in writing and given at least 72 hours prior to the tour, otherwise,  the full price will be charged.
• Partial or no refunds in the form of a credit will be issued at Crab Island Luxury Adventures’s discretion if less than 72 hours of written notice is given.
• Deposits are  non-refundable.
• No-shows will be charged the full price.

Are there life jackets on the boat?

Yes, there are Coast Guard-required life jackets on our boats. If you have small children, you may want to bring your own life jacket as all children 8 and under are legally required to wear a life jacket while on the boat. The Coast Guard-approved ones may not be the most comfortable for small children.

How much should I tip the captain and crew?

Your crew works very hard to make sure you have an enjoyable and safe experience on the water.  A 20% tip is the minimum amount suggested.

Captain Services - We offer Captain Services for an additional fee.   We can have 12 guests plus a captain (Designated Master)

CAPTAIN FEES- (for pontoons) 30a Pontoon Rental offers guests the opportunity to get a captain.   There are numerous benefits. 

1.  First, if the boat gets damaged by the operator, the client pays for those damages.  However, if it's a captained boat, and the captain causes the damage, the client isn't responsible.   

2. TOURS- Captains are a good way to relax and get a tour of the area.  You can relax and have fun, and not have to worry about finding your way around. 

FEES- We charge $20.00 an hour reservation deposit for Captains plus guests pay $50.00 an hour directly to the captain the day of the event.  Tips not included.

Crab Island in Destin Florida is a fabulous hot spot for pontoon rentals.   Depending on the pontoon rental boat, wind, current, and weight on the pontoon rental boat, you can get to Crab Island in 45-55 minutes or more.  This is 3 times faster than by car.   Plus, you are on the water the entire time.  You also get 6 hours or 9 hours of rental instead of the typical 4 or 8.   Crab Island is the ultimate place for families, Bachelorette Parties, Corporate events, etc.

Need a Ride to the Dock?

30a Pontoon Rental in Santa Rosa Beach offers transportation shuttle services for anyone living in Sandestin, Miramar Beach, Rosemary, Seaside, Alys Beach, Seagrove, Inlet Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, Grayton Beach, or the general 30a area.   We only have one shuttle van available presently.  This is a first come first serve offer.   We charge between $200 for a one way shuttle van pick up depending on your location or $400 round trip.   Prices subject to change.

30a Pontoon Rental Questions and Answers?

1. WHAT ARE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMEN TS:

The United States Coast Guard requires pontoon drivers to be born on or before January of 1988. 

Exceptions:

1. If you are born born after January of 1988 and 30 years old or older you must have a boating license / certificate.  You can get this certificate by taking a course with www.boat-ed.com .  Before renting, we must see a copy of the certificate saying you took the course. 

Guest under 30 must hire a captain.  

2. WHAT IS THERE TO DO ON A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT IN THE 30A / DESTIN / MIRAMAR BEACH AREA?

30a Pontoon Rental boats can go anywhere between 331 Bridge and The Destin Harbor.   Included in your pontoon boat rental trip are the following places you can visit.

-Crab Island

-The Destin Harbor

-Holiday Isle

-Lulu's Restaurant

-Dewey Destin's 

-Beautiful Bayou's

3. HOW BIG ARE YOUR BOATS COMPARED TO DESTIN BOATS?

A typical Destin boat is a $20,000 / 50 hp / 23 foot boats.  30a Pontoon Rental in Santa Rosa Beach offers a combination of the largest fastest, and smoothest pontoon rentals in the state.  Our boats are $90-$100,000 boats, 28 foot long, and have 150 and 200 hp motors. 

4. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TRITOON AND A PONTOON?

It wouldn't seem like there is much difference between a pontoon rental and a tritoon rental.  A tritoon boat is the same basic concept as a pontoon boat.  It's still a pontoon, it just has one more toon under it making it a tritoon.  A tritoon is faster, smoother and provides a more comfortable ride. 

5. ARE 30A PONTOON RENTAL BOATS FASTER?

30a Pontoon Rental boats are the fastest, smoothest and most comfortable pontoon rental boats on the panhandle.  We offer 150 and 200 hp boats instead of 50 hp.  They are typically 2-3 times faster.   A typical pontoon rental goes 8-12 mph.  Ours go 25-34 mph. 

6. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET TO CRAB ISLAND BY PONTOON  BOAT?

If you were to drive down to Crab Island from 30a by car it would take the following.

-Inlet Beach, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seacrest Beach-60-75 minutes

Seaside, Watercolor and Grayton Beach- 60-70 minutes

Blue Mountain Beach and Dune Allen Beach- 55-65 Minutes.

Sandestin-50-60 Minutes

Miramar Beach- 45 Minutes

Plus, you have to find a parking spot- 20 minutes

Haul your stuff to dock- 20 minutes

Get Training- 20 Minutes

Get to Crab Island by boat- 20 minutes

With 30a Pontoon Rental you can get to the dock in 5-20 minutes from anywhere in the 30a area.

Then you can drive by boat to Crab Island in 45 minutes. 

This saves you over 1 hour each way. 

Plus we give you 6 and 9 hours of time on water instead of 4 and 8. 

Keep in mind, wind, #of people on boat, current, etc. impact travel time.

Our 200 hp are even faster. 

7. WHERE CAN WE EAT WHILE ON OUR PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

There are a variety of places to stop and eat.  Crab Island has a variety of food boats that will pass by your boa t.  U sually it's ice cream, boiled peanuts, a pineapple or coconut drink, etc.   There is one restaurant at Crab Island.  A burger and fries is around $25-$30.00.  

However, there are 10-15 great restaurants in the Destin Harbor plus the famous Lulu's (owned by Jimmy Buffett's sister) is half way between Destin and Santa Rosa Beach by boat.  

8. DO YOU RENT FLOATS ON OUR 30A PONTOON RENTAL?

30a Pontoon Rental in Santa Rosa Beach offers an 18 X 6 floating pad.  We don't encourage bringing any light floats.  The wind can be strong and can blow light rafts and floats away. 

9.  IS CRAB ISLAND SAFE FOR KIDS?

Crab Island is safe for kids.  However, it's much like a restaurant that turns into a bar at night.  The early hours of a restaurant are fine, but as you get past 9:00 it gets rowdy.  Crab Island is much the same.  The earlier you go out with families with small kids the better.  

10. IS THERE ANOTHER PLACE OTHER THAN CRAB I SLAND F OR FAMILIES OR PARTIES?

Yes, we highly recommend the beautiful body of water just south of Crab Island on the other side of the bridge.  Okaloosa Island connects the West Side of the Bridge to Destin.   On the south and west side of the bridge guests can drop anchor and even pla y on the beach.  HOWEVER, we do not allow our guests to BEACH the boat.   Beaching a boat is driving the boat up on the sand. 

11. WHAT IS OUR PONTOON RENTAL CANCELATION POLICY?

30a Pontoon Rental offers 14 day cancellation policy Sunday through Thursday, 4 week cancellations Friday and Saturday, and 4 week cancellations for Yacht Charters.   We do not cancel for accidents, illness or death.  We recommend renters insurance. 

WEATHER - 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR strives to give our clients the best experience possible on the water. However, the panhandle is notorious for unexpected weather and things can change quickly and dramatically. In many cases weather can change in 30-60 minutes.   30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does our absolute best to inform you of developing weather patterns. However, it's challenging because the weather channels are not always accurate. The only time we cancel and give full refunds is if The United States Coast Guard issues a SMALL CRAFT advisory for the BAY.   30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does not cancel or offer refunds for rain showers that develop while on the water. If you choose to go out and it rains, you have accepted that risk.  if we see weather is dangerous or too much rain we will cancel 1 hour before your scheduled event.  30a Pontoon Rental and 30a Yacht Charter does not cancel do to cold weather.  If the weather turns cold, it's your choice to cancel, but you will not receive a refund.  We also DO NOT cancel the day before due to the rapidly changing weather patterns.   30a Pontoon may move you to a later or earlier time based on the radar.  In the event this happens, we don't offer discounts.   You assume that risk. 

12. WHAT ABOUT CAPTAINS FOR YACHTS AND PONTOONS?

CAPTAIN FEES- 30a Pontoon Rental offers guests the opportunity to get a captain.   There are numerous benefits.

$20.00 an hour reservation deposit for Captains  plus

$50.00 an hour directly to the captain the day of the event.

But the best way to enjoy the 30A beaches is to visit from its picture-perfect aqua-blue water. You can watch the sunsets from afar as you stay on the white sand all day, or you can experience the sunset as changing colors of water around you. For the latter, you need a pontoon boat. How Long Does It Take to Get To Crab Island?

That's a loaded question.  The speed of a boat on the water is determined by the following.

1. HP of the motor

2. Size of Boat

3. Weight on the Boat

4. Wind Speed

5. Style of Boat (pontoon, tritoon, deckboat, double decker or single decker.

For example; a pontoon boat will go an average of 10-15% slower than a tritoon because the tritoon sits up higher on the water and has less friction.

We offer a combination of the fastest, smoothest, and largest pontoon rental boats on the panhandle.  We also offer tritoon pontoon rentals instead of pontoons.  A trip to Crab Island from the 30a area will take anywhere from 35 minutes to 1 hour depending on the above conditions.

CANCELLATION POLICY-

Due to the overwhelming demand, 30a Pontoon Rental requires a 2 week (14 full day) notice for Sunday through Thursday rentals and 3 week notice for Fridays and Saturdays for a full refund.   Any cancellation after this date is non-refundable.  Yacht Charters require 4 week notification.  We do not cancel for accidents, illness or death.  We recommend renters insurance. 

WEATHE R POLICY

WIND- Wind can be a major factor with your pontoon rental.  Wind can change throughout the day.  If there is high wind in the morning we may postpone your trip.  However, we will not offer a refund if we can move the trip to a later time. 

SICKNESS OR DEATH-  We do not cancel and refund for sickness, death or injury.  This includes COVID-   We encourage travel insurance.  

RESCHEDULING- Our boats often book up weeks  in advance.   There is usually not an opportunity to reschedule to another date.   Also, if you want to reschedule, and we are booked up that day, we lose the opportunity to rent the boat to someone else.   You can reschedule boats 72 hours or more in advance.   If we reschedule after, this we risk losing that spot for other clients.   The only time we reschedule after 72 hours is if weather is an issue. 

RENTERS INSURANCE - There are times when the weather forecast is not accurate and winds change or rains increase unexpectedly.   In these circumstances, 30 Pontoon Rental does not refund any money.  This becomes the risk of the customer.   We encourage our renters to get RENTAL INSURANCE for these situations. 

Why a 150 hp Pontoon Rental Boat?- A typical fishing boat, or ski boat is fun, but not enough space for a large party.  Pontoon rental boats allow up to 12 guest to enjoy a day together on the bay.  Most pontoon rental boats are 40-60 hp.  Our pontoon rental boats are 150 hp tritoons.  A tritoon is more buoyant than a pontoon and the extra horsepower will get you where you need to go on the bay 2-3 times faster than the typical pontoon rental.   A more buoyant pontoon rental boat also makes for a smoother and faster trip. How Big is the Bay?

The bay in Santa Rosa Beach extends from the 331 Bridge to Crab Island in Destin.  While you are on our pontoon rental boats you can visit many of the beautiful bayous with exquisite homes in Santa Rosa Beach, Miramar Beach, Sandestin, and Destin.   What is there to do?

While on our pontoon rental boats enjoy incredible restaurants right on the water including the famous Dewey Destin’s, and everyone’s favorite, LULU’s restaurant.  Lulu’s Restaurant is owned by Jimmy Buffett’s sister.  Lulu’s offers indoor and outdoor dining, a fun beach with activities for kids, and an outdoor bar right on the water.  All you have to do is pull your pontoon rental boat up, anchor securely and walk up to the beach.  Can we shop somewhere on the bay?

Want to do some shopping while on our pontoon rental boats?  There are two places to shop and dine while on our pontoon rentals.  Just minutes from our pontoon rental dock is the Sandestin community and the popular Baytown Warf.  Baytown Warf has tons of great shopping, a zip line, a climbing wall, great restaurants, etc.   That’s not all.  While out on our pontoon rental boats you can visit the famous Destin Harbor.  Destin Harbor is packed with great restaurants, shopping, a climbing wall, art gallaries, etc.   The Destin Harbor is only ¼ mile boat ride from Crab Island.   Restaurants include AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar,  Harry T’s, Dewey Destin’s, Marina Café, Boathouse Oyster Bar, Gilligan’s, etc.    

What is Crab Island?  Most of our pontoon rental guest enjoy the fabulous and famous Crab Island.  Crab Island is a sand bar about 2-3 feet deep with crystal clear blue water.   Pontoon Rental boats drop anchor at Crab Island and play for the day.   While at Crab Island you can slide down our Double Decker Pontoon Rental boat with slide, float around on our 18 X 6 floating pad, or paddle around on our 11 foot yolo boards.  Does the boat come equipped with anything?

Our luxury pontoon rental boats come equipped with a full tank of gas.  In addition, we have a variety of super fun add on’s that you can include with your pontoon rental experience.   Those pontoon rental add on’s include…  

18 X 6 FLOATING PAD- A favorite of our pontoon rental guests is our 18 X 6 floating pad.  These pads can hold up to 10 people comfortably.    

PADDLE BOARDS (YOLO BOARDS)- Our 11 foot paddle boards are a great way to enjoy Crab Island.  You can paddle around on top of the water and see fish and wildlife underneath.    

TUBES or HOT DOGS- Want to enjoy some fun?  Why not go tubing on our two person tubes or hot dogs.   

COOLERS- Many of our pontoon rental guests don’t have a cooler.  We offer large coolers to keep your goods cold, or in some cases, keep your supplies dry. 

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO RENT A PONTOON BOAT?

The U.S. Coastguard Requires the driver to be born on or before January of 1988.   However, The US Coastguard allows individuals younger to rent/drive a boat if they have a boating certificate.   Even with a boating certificate we require a minimum of 30 years.  The only exceptions are those who hire a captain or designated master.   

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO RENT A CAR?

30a Rental Company requires all guests to be a minimum of 30 years old and with a valid US drivers license to rent a car.  Our insurance is very strict.   If caught allowing someone younger to drive, we charge a $1000 fine.  

CAPTAIN SERVICES- Don’t want to drive our pontoon rental boats.  We can provide you with a driver for an extra fee.

CANCELLATION POLICY

30a Pontoon Rental offers a 7 day cancellation policy Sunday's through Thursday.  Due to the overwhelming demand for Friday and Saturday our cancellation policy is 3 weeks. 

BACHELORETTE PARTY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. CAN WE HAVE MORE THAN 12 PEOPLE ON A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?  

U.S. Coastguard only allows 12 people max on a boat.  This includes captain.   About 1/3rd of our bachelorette parties rent two boats. 

2. CAN WE BRING FOOD AND ALCOHOL FOR OUR BACHELORETTE PARTY?

Yes, you can bring food and alcohol on the boat.  You can bring your own coolers or we offer80-100 quart cooler rentals.  

3. HOW BIG IS THE VAN TRANSPORTATION

The van allows for 13 guests and some gear.   

4. IS THERE ANY PLACE TO GO EAT WHILE ON THE PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

There are a couple places guests go eat.  Lulu's in Destin is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister LuLu.  It's a great atmosphere with good food.  You can pull the boat up and drop anchor out in the water.  Lulu's has a bar on the beach outside as well.

DEWEY DESTIN'S at Crab Island- Just 1/2 mile east of Crab Island on the water is the famous Dewey Destin's.  Fabulous food an incredible DIVE type atmosphere.   Must have captain or very experienced driver to pull up at their dock.

5. DO WE PAY FOR OUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPERIENCE WHEN WE BOOK OR WHEN WE COME? 

30a Rental Company charges the full amount up front.  This includes the boat(s), add on's, shuttle, etc.  HOWEVER, you pay the Captain the day of the event.  Most captain's charge before the rental. 

6. WHAT IS CUSTOMARY TIPS FOR OUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPEREINCE?

Captain- 15% of cost of trip

Deckhands- 7-10% of cost of trip

Shuttle- 10-20% of cost shuttle

Please Note:  All captained boats also have a deckhand.  That deckhand prepares the boat, hauls the boat, cleans the boat at the end, etc.   Please make sure to separate the captain tip from the deckhand.

7. CAN WE DO LESS THAN a 6 HOUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPERIENCE?

Our pontoon rental boats are driven from storage and put in the water daily.  They get heavy deep cleanings, motors get flushed, etc.   If we rent for 4 hours we lose 6 hour rentals.  We can do 4 hours, but it's same price.  Plus, our captains require a minimum of 6 hours to do a day.  

8. HOW SOON SHOULD WE BOOK OUR PONTOON RENTAL TRIP?

As soon as possible.  We book bachelorette parties up at least 2 months in advance.   However, there are times when we have available slots less than 2 months in advance.   To make sure you have a spot on our pontoon rental boats, we recommend booking your pontoon rental 3 months out.  

9. WHAT IS THE PONTOON RENTAL CANCELLATION POLICY

There is a 72 hour cancellation policy.  If cancelled before 72 hours you will get a full refund.  If after, there is no refund.

10. WHAT IS THE RAIN POLICY?

30a Pontoon Rental strives to give our clients the best experience possible on the water.   However, the panhandle is notorious for unexpected weather and things can change quickly and dramatically.   30a Pontoon Rental does our absolute best to inform you of developing weather patterns.  However, it's challenging because the weather channels are not always accurate and again, patterns develop quickly.  If at the beginning of the day  30a Pontoon Rental sees most of your day will be inclement weather (storms with high winds, lightning and thunder) we will cancel your outing and you can choose between a refund or a credit or we can move you to a different day if another rental boat is available.     If there is significant inclement weather in your area (storms with high winds, lightning,  etc.) during your event and 30a Pontoon Rental calls you back to the dock canceling or cutting short your outing, you will be provided a partial credit.  30a Pontoon does not cancel or offer refunds for rain showers or high winds that develop while on the water.  If you choose to go out and a weather pattern develops (rain, wind, etc), you have accepted that risk and we will not offer a refund or a credit.

Our pontoon rental prices were set on January of 2022.   This includes a full tank of gas for free.  However, due to the current political climate and what's happening in Ukraine, it's expected gas prices to increase.   If gas prices go up, we will charge a gas surcharge at the end of the day based on the difference in gas prices that day as compared to the prices of gas on January of 2022.

Want to do some shopping while on our pontoon rental boats?  There are two places to shop and dine while on our pontoon rentals.  Just minutes from our pontoon rental dock is the Sandestin community and the popular Baytown Warf.  Baytown Warf has tons of great shopping, a zip line, a climbing wall, great restaurants, etc.   That’s not all.  While out on our pontoon rental boats you can visit the famous Destin Harbor.  Destin Harbor is packed with great restaurants, shopping, a climbing wall, art gallaries, etc.   The Destin Harbor is only ¼ mile boat ride from Crab Island.   Restaurants include AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar,  Harry T’s, Dewey Destin’s, Marina Café, Boathouse Oyster Bar, Gilligan’s, etc.    

What is Crab Island?  Most of our pontoon rental guest enjoy the fabulous and famous Crab Island.  Crab Island is a sand bar about 2-3 feet deep with crystal clear blue water.   Pontoon Rental boats drop anchor at Crab Island and play for the day.   While at Crab Island you can slide down our Double Decker Pontoon Rental boat with slide, float around on our 18 X 6 floating pad, or paddle around on our 11 foot yolo boards.  Does the boat come equipped with anything?

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO RENT A PONTOON BOAT?

The U.S. Coastguard Requires the driver to be born on or before January of 1988.   However, The US Coastguard allows individuals younger to rent/drive a boat if they have a boating certificate.   Even with a boating certificate we require a minimum of 30 years.  The only exceptions are those who hire a captain or designated master.   

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO RENT A CAR?

30a Rental Company requires all guests to be a minimum of 30 years old and with a valid US drivers license to rent a car.  Our insurance is very strict.   If caught allowing someone younger to drive, we charge a $1000 fine. 

CAPTAIN SERVICES- Don’t want to drive our pontoon rental boats.  We can provide you with a driver for an extra fee.

CANCELLATION POLICY

30a Rental Company offers a 72 hour cancellation policy.   We do not make any exceptions.  If you have a death or illness in the family or with a friend, we encourage renters to get travel insurance.  

WEATHER POLICY

WEATHER - 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR strives to give our clients the best experience possible on the water. However, the panhandle is notorious for unexpected weather and things can change quickly and dramatically. 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does our absolute best to inform you of developing weather patterns. However, it's challenging because the weather channels are not always accurate. If, at the beginning of the day, we see most of your day forecasted to be inclement weather (storms with high winds, lightning, etc) we may cancel your reservation. However, we do not cancel until 11:00 the day of your pontoon rental due to the dramatic changes in weather.   In the event, 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR do cancel, the customer may then choose between a refund or a credit. If there is significant inclement weather in your area (storms with high winds, lightning etc.) that develop during your event and we call you back to the dock canceling or cutting short your outing, you will be provided a partial credit. 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does not cancel or offer refunds for rain showers that develop while on the water. If you choose to go out and it rains, you have accepted that risk.

RENTERS INSURANCE - There are times when the weather forecast is not accurate and winds change or rains increase unexpectedly.   In these circumstances, 30 Pontoon Rental does not refund any money.  This becomes the risk of the customer.   We encourage our renters to get RENTAL INSURANCE for these situations. 

BACHELORETTE PARTY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. CAN WE HAVE MORE THAN 12 PEOPLE ON A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?  

U.S. Coastguard only allows 12 people max on a boat.  This includes captain.   About 1/3rd of our bachelorette parties rent two boats. 

2. CAN WE BRING FOOD AND ALCOHOL FOR OUR BACHELORETTE PARTY?

Yes, you can bring food and alcohol on the boat.  You can bring your own coolers or we offer80-100 quart cooler rentals.  

3. HOW BIG IS THE VAN TRANSPORTATION

The van allows for 13 guests and some gear.   

4. IS THERE ANY PLACE TO GO EAT WHILE ON THE PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

There are a couple places guests go eat.  Lulu's in Destin is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister LuLu.  It's a great atmosphere with good food.  You can pull the boat up and drop anchor out in the water.  Lulu's has a bar on the beach outside as well.

DEWEY DESTIN'S at Crab Island- Just 1/2 mile east of Crab Island on the water is the famous Dewey Destin's.  Fabulous food an incredible DIVE type atmosphere.   Must have captain or very experienced driver to pull up at their dock.

5. DO WE PAY FOR OUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPERIENCE WHEN WE BOOK OR WHEN WE COME? 

30a Rental Company charges the full amount up front.  This includes the boat(s), add on's, shuttle, etc.  HOWEVER, you pay the Captain the day of the event.  Most captain's charge before the rental. 

6. WHAT IS CUSTOMARY TIPS FOR OUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPEREINCE?

Captain- $75.00-$125

Deckhands- $35-$55

Shuttle- $20-$35

7. CAN WE DO LESS THAN a 6 HOUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPERIENCE?

Our pontoon rental boats are driven from storage and put in the water daily.  They get heavy deep cleanings, motors get flushed, etc.   If we rent for 4 hours we lose 6 hour rentals.  We can do 4 hours, but it's same price.  Plus, our captains require a minimum of 6 hours to do a day.  

8. HOW SOON SHOULD WE BOOK OUR PONTOON RENTAL TRIP?

As soon as possible.  We book bachelorette parties up at least 2 months in advance.   However, there are times when we have available slots less than 2 months in advance.   To make sure you have a spot on our pontoon rental boats, we recommend booking your pontoon rental 3 months out.

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

Where to Get a Luxury Pon toon Boat Rental in 30A Florida?

For years guests have had to drive all the way to Destin or Crab Island to get a boat.  That's typically a 1-2 hour drive plus it takes 20 minutes to park, 20 minutes to load toys down to the dock, 30 minutes for training, and 30 minutes to get to Crab Island.   With 30a Pontoon Rental you can be at the dock in 10-25 minutes from anywhere on 30a and be at Crab Island or Destin in 45 minutes. 

How long are the Pontoon Rental boat options?

A typical pontoon rental in Destin or Crab Island is 4 hours.  With 30a Pontoon rental in Santa Rosa Beach we offer 6 and 9 hour pontoon rentals.   This gives guests plenty time on the water to enjoy Crab Island, a visit to Lulu's restaurant, or enjoying the Destin Harbor (also called Harbor Walk Village.

​the bay is full of fun activities for all ages. it's almost hard to list all there is to do.   the drive from the 30a area near rosemary beach, seaside, grayton beach, alys beach, etc. by boat to destin or crab island is fabulous.  there are several bayou's with beautiful homes.   half way between the 30a area in santa rosa beach where you pick up your pontoon rental boat and crab island is the fabulous lulu's restaurant where you can stop for a bite to eat and a drink.   just around the corner from lulu's is the fabulous crab island where you can drop anchor in the beautiful crystal clear blue waters.   around the corner from crab island on your pontoon rental is the destin harbor or also called harbor walk village.   harborwalk village in destin is packed with tons of fun activities, great restaurants like aj's, dewey destin's, margaritaville, harry t's, etc.    you can typically pull up at aj's dock and hang out for awhile.   in the destin harbor you can enjoy seeing homes and fabulous boats from the water in holiday isle.   it's also fun to just enjoy time on the water. .

​ What is Crab Island and Why is it so famous? Crab Island is really not an Island, it's a Sand Bar.  The water is crystal clear and only 2-4 feet deep.   On a typical summer day there will be over 300-500 boats that drop anchor and play.   Guests of Crab Island can paddle board, relax on a floating pad, throw a football or frisbee, or just chill on a boat.  While you are at Crab Island on a Pontoon Rental small boats will come by selling ice cream, t-shirts, boiled peanuts, etc.

WHAT EXACTLY IS A PONTOON RENTAL B OAT?

A pontoon rental boat is a fabulous way to enjoy the water.  A pontoon rental boat is a boat built with a flat deck and cushioned seats.   It's surrounded by aluminum walls with doors in 3-4 locations.   Most pontoon rental boats in the Destin area are 23 foot, 50 hp pontoon rentals.  30a Pontoon Rental offers 28 foot, 150 and 200 hp pontoon rentals.  Actually, 30a Pontoon Rental offers tritoons.  A tritoon pontoon rental is smoother, faster and gives guests a more comfortable boating experience. 

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY ON A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT IN DESTIN OR 30A?

Our boats are the largest pontoon rental boats in the panhandle.  However, the United States Coast Guard allows us to have 12 guests or 12 guests plus a captain.   This is a National Coast Guard rule.  

A typical pontoon rental boat is 23 foot, 50 hp pontoon.   These are comfortable for 8-10 people.  Ours are 28 foot, 12 passenger pontoons.   The extra 5 feet give our guests plenty of room for relaxing and having fun.   

HOW FAST ARE PONTOON RENTAL BOATS?

A typical pontoon rental boat in the Destin or 30a area is a 23 foot, 50 hp pontoon.  30a Pontoon Rental in Santa Rosa Beach offers 150 and 200 hp pontoons.  These are typically 2-3 times faster.   A typical pontoon rental boat will go 10-13 mph.   Our pontoon rental boats go 25-32 mph.    This gives our pontoon rental guests plenty of speed to cruise through the bay.   Plus, you get 6 and 9 hours instead of 4 and 8.   Keep in mind, boat speed is based on wind conditions, current, and weight of boat.   The smaller the party, the faster the boat will go. 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE US TO GET TO CRAB ISLAND BY PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

A drive to Crab Island or Destin by car in the middle of busy season will take 1-1.5 hours.  In addition, if you want to rent a pontoon rental boat, it takes 20 minutes to park, 20 minutes to unload your car, and 20 minutes for training, and 20 minutes to get out to Crab Island.   With 30a Pontoon rental you can be at our dock in 15 minutes average from anywhere on 30a and be at Crab Island by pontoon rental boat in around 45 minutes.   Our pontoon rental boats are 150 hp as compared to 50 hp pontoons.   Speed on a pontoon rental boat is determined by weight on the pontoon rental boat, wind, and current.

CAPTAIN FEES - 30a Pontoon Rental offers guests the opportunity to get a captain.   There are numerous benefits. 

1.  First, if the boat gets damaged by the operator, the client pays for those damages.  However, if it's a captained boat, and the captain causes the damage, the client isn't responsible.   

2. TOURS- Captains are a good way to relax and get a tour of the area.  You can relax and have fun, and not have to worry about finding your way around. 

FEES FOR DRIVERS (Pontoons)

We charge $20.00 an hour reservation deposit for Captains PLUS guests pay $50.00 an hour directly to the captain the day of the event. 

Tips not included.

RESERVATION NOTE - Contracts are legally binding.  When you reserve your pontoon rental boat, it locks out any other potential pontoon rentals.   If you have reserved a pontoon rental and want to get out of your pontoon boat rental, you must cancel by email 14 days before your scheduled rental Sunday through Thursday or 4 weeks Friday and Saturday or you will lose your full amount.   

PLEASE NOTE:  We recommend pontoon renters arrive 15 minutes before scheduled departure for mandatory instruction and safety training (can take up to 30 mins). 

SAVE 2 HOURS : It takes between 60-80 minutes to  drive to Destin by car.  Plus it takes 25 minutes to get a boat at the Marina and 20-25 minutes to get to Crab Island.  If you rent from us, you can be at Crab Island in 45 minutes to 1 hour.    Why go by car, when you can go by pontoon boat, enjoy free parking, plus take in the scenery?

6 & 9 Hour Rentals- Why rent a pontoon boat for only 4 hours when you can get 6 or 9 full hours on the water.

WEATHER POLICY - WEATHER - 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR strives to give our clients the best experience possible on the water. However, the panhandle is notorious for unexpected weather and things can change quickly and dramatically.  In many cases weather can change in 30-60 minutes.  30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does our absolute best to inform you of developing weather patterns. However, it's challenging because the weather channels are not always accurate. The only time we cancel and give full refunds is if The United States Coast Guard issues a SMALL CRAFT advisory for the BAY.  If there is significant inclement weather in your area (storms with high winds, lightning etc.) that develop during your event and we call you back to the dock canceling or cutting short your outing, you will be provided a partial credit. 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does not cancel or offer refunds for rain showers that develop while on the water. If you choose to go out and it rains, you have accepted that risk.   Also, due to dramatic changes in weather, we do not cancel 24 hours in advance for weather.   We also do not cancel for cold weather.   30a Pontoon Rental may move you to an earlier or later time depending on the forecast.  We do not refund or credit your account for the inconvenience. 

REGULAR CANCELATION POLICY - 30a Pontoon Rental and 30a Yacht Charter offer a 14  day cancellation policy Sunday through Thursday.  Due to the overwhelming number of rentals on Friday and Saturday all pontoon rentals Friday and Saturday are 3 week cancellations.     Yacht Charters require 4 week cancellations.    We do not cancel for accidents, illness or death.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  We recommend renters insurance. 

RENTERS INSURANCE - There are times when the weather forecast is not accurate and winds change or rains increase unexpectedly.   In these circumstances, 30 Pontoon Rental does not refund any money.  This becomes the risk of the customer.   We encourage our renters to get RENTAL INSURANCE for these situations. 

Our pontoon rental boats are not located on a commercial dock.  We bring them to a public ramp every day located just minutes from Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, Inlet Beach, etc. .    You have to schedule a pickup.     Once you have a reservation, one of our deck hands will contact you and then meet you at the dock on the day and time of your scheduled reservation. Why drive a car in traffic to Destin when you can drive your boat there? A ride to Destin is 45 minutes to 1 hour, often in very slow traffic. A boat ride is only 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your boat, weather conditions, and current.   Santa Rosa Beach Pontoon Rental runs out of a public dock called Cessna landing. Cessna Landing is located about 1.6 miles north of Hwy 98 on 393 near Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, Alys Beach, Miramar Beach, etc..  Take Hwy 98 to 393.   Turn north on 393.  Cessna landing is about 1/2 mile north of the first stop sign.    If you have gone over the bridge, you've gone too far.

Renting a pontoon rental boat while on vacation is a favorite for 30a vacationers.   The Choctowhatchee bay is a fabulous waterway filled with all types of restaurants, beautiful bayou’s, the Famous Crab Island, and so much more.   A pontoon rental boat is the ultimate way to explore these beautiful and fun venues.  

Why a 150 hp or 200 hp TRITOON Pontoon Rental Boat?- A typical fishing boat, or ski boat is fun, but not enough space for a large party.  Pontoon rental boats allow up to 12 guest to enjoy a day together on the bay.  Most pontoon rental boats are 40-60 hp.  Our pontoon rental boats are 150 hp tritoons.  A tritoon is more buoyant than a pontoon.  A more buoyant pontoon is smoother and faster.  Plus, the 150 hp as compared to 40-60 hp allows you to go 2-3 times faster than a typical pontoon rental boat.  For example;    A drive on a 115 hp pontoon will take you 30 minutes longer to get to Crab Island than a 150 hp tritoon.  Plus, it's a much safer and smoother ride.  How Big is the Bay?

The bay in Santa Rosa Beach extends from the 331 Bridge to Crab Island in Destin.  While you are on our pontoon rental boats you can visit many of the beautiful bayous with exquisite homes in Santa Rosa Beach, Miramar Beach, Sandestin, and Destin.   Is there anywhere to eat on the bay?

While on our pontoon rental boats enjoy incredible restaurants right on the water including the famous Dewey Destin’s, and everyone’s favorite, LULU’s restaurant.  Lulu’s Restaurant is owned by Jimmy Buffett’s sister.  Lulu’s offers indoor and outdoor dining, a fun beach with activities for kids, and an outdoor bar right on the water.  All you have to do is pull your pontoon rental boat up, anchor securely and walk up to the beach.  Can we shop somewhere on the bay?

Want to do some shopping while on our pontoon rental boats?  There are two places to shop and dine while on our pontoon rentals.  Just minutes from our pontoon rental dock is the Sandestin community and the popular Baytown Warf.  Baytown Warf has tons of great shopping, a zip line, a climbing wall, great restaurants, etc.   That’s not all....  While out on our pontoon rental boats you can visit the famous Destin Harbor.  Destin Harbor is packed with great restaurants, shopping, a climbing wall, art gallaries, etc.   The Destin Harbor is only ¼ mile boat ride from Crab Island.   Restaurants include AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar,  Harry T’s, Dewey Destin’s, Marina Café, Boathouse Oyster Bar, Gilligan’s, and many others.    

What is Crab Island?  Most of our pontoon rental guest enjoy the fabulous and famous Crab Island.  Crab Island is a sand bar about 2-3 feet deep with crystal clear blue water.   Pontoon Rental boats drop anchor at Crab Island and play for the day.   While at Crab Island you can slide down our Double Decker Pontoon Rental boat with slide, float around on our 18 X 6 floating pad, or paddle around on our 11 foot yolo boards.  Does the boat come equipped with anything?

Our luxury pontoon rental boats come equipped with a full tank of gas.  In addition, we have a variety of super fun add on’s that you can include with your pontoon rental experience.   Those pontoon rental add on’s include…  

18 X 6 FLOATING PAD- A favorite of our pontoon rental guests is our 18 X 6 floating pad.  These pads can hold up to 10 people comfortably.    

PADDLE BOARDS (YOLO BOARDS)- Our 11 foot paddle boards are a great way to enjoy Crab Island.  You can paddle around on top of the water and see fish and wildlife underneath.    

TUBES or HOT DOGS- Want to enjoy some fun?  Why not go tubing on our two person tubes or hot dogs.   

COOLERS- Many of our pontoon rental guests don’t have a cooler.  We offer large coolers to keep your goods cold, or in some cases, keep your supplies dry. 

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO RENT A PONTOON BOAT?

The U.S. Coastguard Requires the driver to be born on or before January of 1988.   However, The US Coastguard allows individuals younger to rent/drive a boat if they have a boating certificate.   Even with a boating certificate we require a minimum of 30 years.  You can be under 30 only if you hire a captain or designated master.   

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO RENT A CAR?

30a Rental Company requires all guests to be a minimum of 30 years old and with a valid US drivers license to rent a car.  Our insurance is very strict.   If caught allowing someone younger to drive, we charge a $1000 fine. 

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL GRATUITY FOR BOATS?

Captain- 15% of cost of trip

Deckhands- 7-10% of cost of trip

Shuttle- 10-20% of cost shuttle

Please Note:  All captained boats also have a deckhand.  That deckhand prepares the boat, hauls the boat, cleans the boat at the end, etc.   Please make sure to separate the captain tip from the deckhand.

CAPTAIN SERVICES- Don’t want to drive our pontoon rental boats.  We can provide you with a driver for an extra fee.

CANCELLATION POLICY

30a Rental Company offers a 3 week cancellation policy Sunday through Thursday and 4 week Friday and Saturday..   We do not make any exceptions.  If you have a death or illness in the family or with a friend, we encourage renters to get travel insurance.  Yacht Charters require 4 week cancellations. 

ACCIDENT OR INJURY- If you are involved in an accident, injury or death before your trip, we do NOT cancel if you are inside the cancellation window. NO EXCEPTIONS.  We recommend rental insurance.

WIND - Wind can be a major factor with your pontoon rental.  Wind can change throughout the day.  If there is high wind in the morning we may postpone your trip.  However, we will not offer a refund if we can move the trip to a later time. 

SICKNESS OR DEATH- We do not cancel o r refund  for sickness, death or injury.  This includes COVID-   We encourage travel insurance.  

RESCHEDULING- Our boats often book up weeks in advance.   There is usually not an opportunity to reschedule to another date.   Also, if you want to reschedule, and we are booked up that day, we lose the opportunity to rent the boat to someone else.   You can reschedule boats 72 hours or more in advance.   If we reschedule after, this we risk losing that spot for other clients.   The only time we reschedule after 72 hours is if weather is an issue.

Our pontoon rental prices were set on January of 2022.   This includes a full tank of gas for free.  However, due to the current political climate and what's happening in Ukraine, it's expected gas prices to increase.   If gas prices go up, we will charge a gas surcharge at the end of the day based on the difference in gas prices that day as compared to the prices of gas on January of 2022.

Scheduled to open its doors from 25 - 28 September, the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show is set to return to the beautiful Port Hercules in what promises to be yet another edition filled with some of the most spectacular superyacht charters on the market.

Annually welcoming a plethora of luxury yacht rentals, with many measuring 164ft (50m) upwards, the Monaco Yacht Show proudly showcases the finest and most opulent superyachts around. Previously playing host to incredible boat charters like 295.79ft (90.1m) superyacht NERO and the 298.79ft (91m) Lurssen charter yacht LADY LARA , the 2024 edition will be displaying an enticing selection of the largest yachts for charter .

Its prime location makes it the most feasible spot to book a pontoon boat rental for any visitor.

The convenient location of 30A Pontoon Rentals means that you don’t need to venture to Destin or Panama City to pick up a boat by car.  You can save over 1 hour by boat each way. . You can simply head directly to the dock to pick up your pontoon rental.

What Kind of Luxury Pontoon Boat Rentals are Available in 30A Florida?

30a Pontoon Rental offers the nicest, fastest, largest and smoothest pontoon rental boats in the state.   Instead of a typical $20,000, 50 hp, 23 foot boat, 30a Pontoon Rental offers 150 and 200 hp, 28 foot, tritoons.   

Children can especially enjoy sliding back into the calm waters again and again. A small and convenient ladder allows those in water to climb up the main deck of the pontoon boat. The main deck and upper deck are also connected through a ladder to make the latter easily accessible.

In 2024, 30A Pontoon plans to add 200HP Pontoons to its list of pontoon rentals, which is faster than 150HP Pontoons. 

How Long Can You Enjoy a Pontoon Rental?

30a Pontoon rental offer 6 and 9 hour pontoon rentals instead of 4 and 8.   This allows you more time on the water and more time to travel back and forth from the 30a area to Crab Island or Destin. 

What Can You Do on an All-Day Pontoon Rental?

The bay is packed with all types of fun activities.   From the 30a area (near Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, Alys Beach, Inlet Beach, Miramar Beach, etc) you can enjoy watching dolphins, cruising in the fabulous bayous where you can enjoy gorgeous homes, cruise to Crab Island where you can enjoy all Crab Island has to offer, stop by Lulu's restaurant (owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister, or cruise the waters of the Destin Harbor and see some of the beautiful homes and boats. 

WHAT IS CRAB ISLAND?

Crab Island used to be an Island between Destin and Okaloosa Island.  However, in the 1970's it washed out.  Now it's a super fun sandbar.  The water is typically crystal clear blue and only 2-4 feet deep.   Boats drop anchor and play for the day.  Some days there are 50 boats, other days there may be 500.    

How Long Does It Take to Get To Crab Island?

That's a loaded question.  The speed of a boat on the water is determined by the following.

1. HP of the motor

2. Size of Boat

3. Weight on the Boat

4. Wind Speed

5. Style of Boat (pontoon, tritoon, deckboat, double decker or single decker.

For example; a pontoon boat will go an average of 10-15% slower than a tritoon because the tritoon sits up higher on the water and has less friction.

We offer a combination of the fastest, smoothest, and largest pontoon rental boats on the panhandle.  We also offer tritoon pontoon rentals instead of pontoons.  A trip to Crab Island from the 30a area will take anywhere from 35 minutes to 1 hour depending on the above conditions.

CANCELLATION POLICY-

We offer a 72 hour cancellation policy Sunday-Thursdays.  Boats cancelled after this do not get a refund.  See below for weather policy.   All Friday and Saturday boats require a 2 week cancellation policy for a full refund. 

WEATHER POLICY

WEATHER - The weather has a mind of it's own in this area.  Weather forecasters have a hard time predicting storms, rain, etc.   30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR strives to give our clients the best experience possible on the water. However, the panhandle is notorious for unexpected weather and things can change quickly and dramatically. In many cases weather can change in 30-60 minutes.   We also get unexpected rain and wind storms in the middle of the day without warning.   30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does our absolute best to inform you of developing weather patterns. However, it's challenging because the weather channels are not always accurate. The only time we cancel and give full refunds is if The United States Coast Guard issues a SMALL CRAFT advisory for the BAY.   30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does not cancel or offer refunds for rain showers that develop while on the water. If you choose to go out and it rains, you have accepted that risk. 30a Pontoon Rental also does not put boats out in winds constantly above 12 mph.   If we see weather is dangerous or too much rain we will cancel 1 hour before your scheduled event.  30a Pontoon Rental and 30a Yacht Charter does not cancel do to cold weather.  If the weather turns cold, it's your choice to cancel, but you will not receive a refund.  We also DO NOT cancel the day before due to the rapidly changing weather patterns.   We will notify you the morning of. 

WIND- Wind can be a major factor with your pontoon rental.  Winds of 12 mph out of the west can be dangerous.   Wind can change throughout the day.  If there is high wind in the morning we may postpone your trip.  However, we will not offer a refund if we can move the trip to a later time. 

SICKNESS OR DEATH-  We do not cancel and refund for sickness, death or injury.  This includes COVID-   We encourage travel insurance.  

RESCHEDULING- Our boats often book up weeks in advance.   There is usually not an opportunity to reschedule to another date.  However, we can put you on a waiting list for another day.  Also, if you want to reschedule, and we are booked up that day, we lose the opportunity to rent the boat to someone else.   You can reschedule boats 72 hours or more in advance.   If we reschedule after, this we risk losing that spot for other clients.   The only time we reschedule after 72 hours is if weather is an issue. 

RENTERS INSURANCE - THIS IS A MUST- There are times when the weather forecast is not accurate and winds change or rains increase unexpectedly.   In these circumstances, 30 Pontoon Rental does not refund any money.  This becomes the risk of the customer.   We encourage our renters to get RENTAL INSURANCE for these situations. 

Why a 150 hp Pontoon Rental Boat on 30a instead of a 50 hp boat?- A typical pontoon rental boat in the panhandle is a 50 hp pontoon.  30a Pontoon Rental offers 150 and 200 hp tritoons.   A 150 hp tritoon will go about 3 times faster than a 50 hp pontoon.   

TRITOONS AS COMPARED TO PONTOON RENTALS?  Is there really much difference?

Yes, there is a huge difference.  A 50 hp tritoon is about 5 mph faster than a 50 hp pontoon.  So, a 150 hp tritoons is going to be dramatically faster.  Also, a tritoon sits up higher in the water making it smoother.  You get much less bounce.  It's a much more compfortable pontoon rental ride.  How Big is the Bay in the 30a area?

The bay in Santa Rosa Beach  area (close to Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, Alys Beach, etc)  extends from the 331 Bridge to Crab Island in Destin.  While you are on our pontoon rental boats you can visit many of the beautiful bayous with exquisite homes in Santa Rosa Beach, Miramar Beach, Sandestin, and Destin.   What is there t o do?

There is everything from enjoying the waters to stopping off for a bite to eat.   While on our pontoon rental boats enjoy incredible restaurants right on the water including the famous Dewey Destin’s, and everyone’s favorite, LULU’s restaurant.  Lulu's is directly between the 30a area and Crab Island.  Lulu’s Restaurant is owned by Jimmy Buffett’s sister.  Lulu’s offers indoor and outdoor dining, a fun beach with activities for kids, and an outdoor bar right on the water.  All you have to do is pull your pontoon rental boat up, anchor securely and walk up to the beach.  Can we shop somewhere on the bay?

Most people stay all day on the boat.  You can always shop different times.  However, t here are two places to shop and dine while on our pontoon rentals.  Just minutes from our pontoon rental dock is the Sandestin community and the popular Baytown Warf.  Baytown Warf has tons of great shopping, a zip line, a climbing wall, great restaurants, etc.   You typically have to pay to park while you shop.   It changes from time to time.  Usually it's around $20.00.    In addition to Baytowne, you can visit the famous Destin Harbor.  Destin Harbor is packed with great restaurants, shopping, a climbing wall, art gallaries, etc.   The Destin Harbor is only ¼ mile boat ride from Crab Island.   Restaurants include AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar,  Harry T’s, Dewey Destin’s, Marina Café, Boathouse Oyster Bar, Gilligan’s, etc.    

Does the boat come equipped with anything?

Our luxury pontoon rental boats come equipped with a full tank of gas.  In addition, we have a variety of super fun add on’s that you can include with your pontoon rental experience.   Those pontoon rental add on’s include…  

PADDLE BOARDS (YOLO BOARDS)- Our 11 foot paddle boards are a great way to enjoy Crab Island.  You can paddle around on top of the water and see fish and wildlife underneath.  

18 X 6 FLOATING PAD- A favorite of our pontoon rental guests is our 18 X 6 floating pad.  These pads can hold up to 10 people comfortably.  

TUBES  Want to enjoy some fun?  30a Pontoon Rental offers super fun two person tubes   

COOLERS- Many of our pontoon rental guests don’t have a cooler.  We offer large coolers to keep your goods cold, or in some cases, keep your supplies dry. 

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO RENT A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

The U.S. Coastguard Requires the driver to be born on or before January of 1988.   This hasn't changed in years.   However, The US Coastguard allows individuals younger to rent/drive a boat if they have a boating certificate.   You will have to take the certificate online.   Even with a boating certificate we require a minimum of 30 years.  The only exceptions are those who hire a captain or designated master.   We provide you with a list of drivers.  You can call from that list.   A paid driver for your pontoon rental boat is $70.00 an hour.

CAPTAIN SERVICES- Don’t want to drive our pontoon rental boats.  We can provide you with a driver for an extra fee.   We provide you with a list of 10-15 drivers.  You can call from that list.  All of our drivers charge $70.00 an hour. 

​VAN SHUTTLE / AIRPORT SHUTTLE

Need a ride to the dock.  30a Pontoon Rental can pick you up anywhere in the 30a / Miramar Beach area including Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Alys Beach, Inlet Beach, Seacrest, Seagrove, Watercolor, and surrounding communities.   Visit  www.30apontoonandshuttle.com . 

BACHELORETTE PARTY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. CAN WE HAVE MORE THAN 12 PEOPLE ON A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT for our BACHELORETTE PARTY?  

U.S. Coastguard only allows 12 people max on a boat.  This includes captain.  We regularly do two boat parties.   Boats can stay together as they are traveling and can anchor close together at Crab Island.

2. CAN WE BRING FOOD AND ALCOHOL FOR OUR BACHELORETTE PARTY?

Yes, you can bring food and alcohol on the boat.  You can bring your own coolers or we offer 80-100 quart cooler rentals.  The sun can really impact how people feel.   We strongly encourage guests to bring lots of water.   Ideally we encourage guests to rotate a bottle of water between each alcoholic drink.  Also, the Coast Guard is extremely strict.  There is absolutely no drinking allowed by the driver.   

3. HOW BIG IS THE VAN TRANSPORTATION?  WILL OUR BACHELORETTE PARTY FIT?

The van allows for 13 guests and some gear.   

4. IS THERE ANY PLACE TO GO EAT WHILE ON THE PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

There are a couple places guests go eat while out on the water.  Lulu's in Destin is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister LuLu.  It's a great atmosphere with good food.  You can pull the boat up and drop anchor out in the water.  Lulu's has a bar on the beach outside as well.   

DEWEY DESTIN'S at Crab Island- Just 1/2 mile east of Crab Island on the water is the famous Dewey Destin's.  Fabulous food an incredible DIVE type atmosphere.   Must have captain or very experienced driver to pull up at their dock.

DESTIN HARBOR- The Destin Harbor is also a great spot to stop and eat.  There are over 10 great restaurants in this area.  It's often hard to find a place to dock the boat.   

5. DO WE PAY FOR OUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPERIENCE WHEN WE BOOK OR WHEN WE COME? 

30a Pontoon Rental charges the full amount up front.  This includes the boat(s), add on's, shuttle, etc.  HOWEVER, you pay $50.00 of the $70.00 captain fee the day of your event.  You can pay cash or venmo.  

6. WHAT IS CUSTOMARY TIPS FOR OUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPEREINCE?

Captain- 15% of cost of trip

Deckhands- 7-10% of cost of trip

Shuttle- 10-20% of cost shuttle

Please Note:  All captained boats also have a deckhand.  That deckhand prepares the boat, hauls the boat, cleans the boat at the end, etc.   Please make sure to separate the captain tip from the deckhand.

7. CAN WE DO LESS THAN a 6 HOUR PONTOON RENTAL EXPERIENCE?

Most of our boats book up in advance.  We also have a large waiting list.  Also, our boats only go out once a day.   Due to the demand, we will allow a 4 hour charter, but it's the same price.  

8. HOW SOON SHOULD WE BOOK OUR PONTOON RENTAL TRIP?

Bachelorette Parties need to book 3-4 months out.  Or any party scheduling a trip on Fridays or Saturdays.   The same is true with Holidays.   We encourage at least 3-4 months out.  However, Sundays through Thursdays we encourage people to book out a couple months in advance.    

9. WHAT IS THE PONTOON RENTAL CANCELLATION POLICY FOR A BACHELORETTE PARTY

There is a 72 hour cancellation policy Sunday through Thursday.   If cancelled before 72 hours you will get a full refund.  If after, there is no refund.  However, we require 2 week cancellation policy on Fridays and Saturdays. 

10. WHAT IS THE RAIN POLICY for a PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

Coastal areas are notorious for dramatic weather changes.    Many times the weather channels don't even notify the area when a storm or weather pattern hits.   We can have a perfect radar, and a 30 minute storm will show up without notice.   As a result, we hold off with any cancellations until the day of.  If we see that the weather is going to be bad, we will cancel 1-2 hours before your scheduled trip (sometimes sooner).   If the weather shows a full day of rain or storms we will refund the entire amount.

PLEASE NOTE: GAS PRICES-

Our pontoon rental prices were set on January of 2022.   This includes a full tank of gas for free.  However, due to the current political climate and what's happening in Ukraine, it's expected gas prices to increase.   If gas prices go up, we will charge a gas surcharge at the end of the day based on the difference in gas prices that day as compared to the prices of gas on January of 2022.    For example; if you book in February and gas prices were $2.99, and your rental is 2 months later and gas prices go up $5.00, we have to charge the difference.
