The Enksail Orion is in terms of sailing characteristics a more sporty version, while the Noordkaper and Halcyon are true cruier designs. This aluminium sailing yacht is a design by renowned Dutch designer Kees van de Stadt of Satellite Yacht Design. The Orion range consists of a 49- and 54-footer.
Performance
The Enksail Orion not only has the look of a fast ship, it is. Thanks to a sporty hull shape, this aluminium sailing yacht has little water displacement, making for good sailing with little effort. The hull is made entirely of aluminium. With straight bow, it is a modern ship. Optionally, the ship can be fitted with a centreboard keel, creating a variable draft. The hull is bare aluminium as standard, which has maintenance advantages.

The customers are well-known Canadian vloggers and you can follow the latest developments in design choices, hardware choices, construction, etc. on their facebook page . Because we had so many small adjustments in terms of interior, installation and the keel, we developed a completely new cutting package.

Why, I dont know but I guess its my reaction to people who state they built their , when if fact all they did was to hire someone to build it for them. Its no easy matter to give a the criteria you wish to see on paper. Some owners have very specific ideas, some just leave it up to the designer and the . My point tried to state that being involved in the process does not make you either the designer nor the . What I wanted to get across to the original poster was to trust the professionals. Im not saying that if you are not a yacht designer nor a builder, your opinions are worthless. My comment is about assessing the value and weight that experience adds to opinion. Mark

He or she could be good or bad at any combination. I never said the opinion of sailors was inferior to that of professional naval architects or professional boatbuilders. my 39feet average white boat for any of these. But there are clear differences between the Orion and Bestevaer. The last one has a more look of a pilot . Beautiful. The Orions look much more modern and carry their beam much more aft, like most modern designs nowadays. This gives much more volume and also a much wider with a fixed table. So it all is about personal preferences. For the look, I would opt for the Bestevaer. For practicality to , I would have the Orion.
