- The Captain's Table
The Captain's Table
Ratings and reviews, location and contact.
Friendly service at Captain's table. Went for Quiz Night and it was great fun. Pizza, nachos and rose were great. A good selection of tasty pre-made dishes available for purchase as well. It does get very warm at night even with the fans, but it's... not that big of an issue. Bring some mossie spray just in case. I'll be back again for sure. More
Great open restaurant with full bar and tables inside or outside at the terrace; right next to the waterway and boats everywhere. Being April and a bit colder than usual, temperature was perfect outside. We had a huge table and everything went well. Service can... be a little slow, but nothing out of the ordinary. Awesome experience overall. More
We had a reservation for lunch and we were welcomed by a very friendly waitress. We could sit where we wanted because there were only a few customers. I had a coke and as a starter I had the salad of the day. This consisted... of sliced tomato, sliced red onions, sliced cucumber, different types of lettuce, olive oil and a delicious dressing. You could also add salmon, steak or chicken. I wanted it without. My companion had a mineral water and the same salad. The Main course was two pieces of tenderloin steak in a tasty marinade and baked pieces of potatoes with small pieces of vegetables through it. It tasted really good. For dessert my companion and I shared a piece of coconut cake. Whooow. It tasted great. While waiting for our food we had a really nice conversation with the friendly waitress. The restaurant is a beautifully decorated open space which makes it cool and refreshing. There is also a garden with chairs and tables where you can also smoke. There is a display cabinet near the kitchen with various cakes, soups and oven dishes for sale. Adjacent to this eatery is the' "Goodfellow Harbour Store". A small grocery shop selling expensive products. I like tis place. The staff is great, helpful and the food is delicious (not cheap). The space is open and airy and the atmosphere is relax. The toilets are clean and there is wifi. There is a parking space. This place is on the gated community called "Lyford Cay". It's very close to the marina.of this community. If you are not a part of this community you will have to make a reservation to eat there. keep in mind, it's not close to the center More
Poor service, bad food unless its something fried then go for it. No atmosphere for being in a marina, they could do so much its a shame really.
We eventually got to visit this little gem, best described a small boutique restaurant.. set right beside the Marina inside Lyford Cay. Attentive waiting staff and nice and slow eating time.. It was really nice not to feel rushed into vacating our table. Portion sizes... were large and well presented. I would definatley recommend a visit . Take a stroll along the dock afterwards and look at some of the mega yacht's moored. It was a shame we couldn't sit out side as it was raining...but still...an excuse for a repeat visit. More
Dining there in the summer is not pleasant. There is no AC and few fans. Not great value for money. For some reason pizza, which is one of their best dishes, is only available on Friday! Too bad because it is a nice location.
The restaurant is next to the Lyford Cay Marina. There was a life band playing some oldies jazz. Pleasant. The menu is uninspiring. We had 4 hamburgers which were plain and tasteless. Fries were ok but below McDonald’s in terms of taste and crispness. Just... the appearance was slightly more “ home made “. There is a small grocery store which is par of the restaurant offering imported products from exotic destinations at...exoticly high prices. More
We blagged our way into Lyeford Cay to try out Captains Table for lunch. They generally won’t allow the common folk in the gate without a reservation ! Anyway the gateman was very pleasant, Sussed us out and let us in. The restaurant is a... lot more low key than expected, the setting is pretty but for lunch there were only two other tables taken, The menu is pretty basic, we ordered a quiche and salad and a chicken terrine? and salad, both perfectly nice, the service was brisk and efficient whilst not overly friendly. I think it might have been better to come for dinner to really test the menu. More
The Grilled Salmon served with Bulgur wheat was fresh and healthy. They allowed my husband to add Mahi Mahi to his summer green salad. Love the volume of their live band, soft not overpowering. Serve was good, our waiter was attentive. They didn't score excellent... from me due to extremely limited choice on their dinner menu. Plus our delight discovery of pomegranate juice on their drinks menu turns to disappointment. Ian instructed the waiter to add water to dilute it (that causes the juice to taste really bland) and charged $4 extra on it. Nevertheless, we had a pleasant time. More
This place seemed very exclusive due to the difficulty of getting a reservation (you must have your hotel call, and then even when you arrive at the Lyford Cay community gates, the gatekeepers gave us a hard time, even though we told them we did... in fact have a reservation). By the time we got to the restaurant (which was hard to find because the location on Trip Advisor is not accurate, it's just past the gates to the right), we realized it was more like a lunch cafe/bar than a nice dinner spot. We walked in and then out and decided to go to Mahogany House instead, which is outside the gates and does not require dealing with snooty gatekeepers who seem all too happy about not letting you into their exclusive club. More
we enjoyed the captain's table so much we ate there twice in 4 days. highly recommend the steamed crab entree, conch chowder, conch salad and coconut shrimp. the light and tasty johnny cake is irresistible!
The Captains Table requires a reservation to get into the area which has security. The service is very friendly and the food amazing. Really enjoyable.
We ate here for brunch, dinner, and breakfast while overnighting at the Lyford Cay Marina. It was fantastic every time. "Dee" was out waitress twice and she was excellent. All three times the menu was slightly different to change things up. I gave it five... stars due to the outstanding service and quality. It does not pretend to be anything but a dockside marina but if offers and provides much more. The food quality was outstanding as well as the choices. Everything was served with a smile and it was very quick. The Lobster Bisque was excellent as well as the lamb burger and omelette! I was completely taken aback by the nature of this -- almost quaint -- restaurant. I will visit Lyford Cay Marina again, and, mainly, to eat here. More
Food was outstanding. The eggs were done right and the wife’s French toast was delicious. We are here twice for breakfast. It is pricey but it’s in a private marina where the rich and shameless live. You need a reservation to get in. Just call... and ask. Service is very good and there’s a shop with foods to go More
Outstanding location, service and food. We completely enjoyed the live music. This is what a restaurant in The Bahamas should look like! Thank you to everyone

The Private World of Lyford Cay
The exclusive Bahamas compound—a favorite of billionaires and playboys—has been thrust into the spotlight by a a decades-long feud between neighbors Peter Nygard and Louis Bacon. Despite the attention, it remains a very private retreat. A few years ago, Town & Country got a rare, behind-the scenes tour of the elegant club from designer Tom Scheerer.
While it can be said that the superrich live and die by the adage, "Good fences make good neighbors" (or in the case of Donald Trump—walls), the high net-worth residents of Lyford Cay, located on the western tip of New Providence, Bahamas, are known more for their old wasp mores and unlocked doors. The compound even has a communal club with a pink tented dining pavilion that's like something out of a Slim Aarons photo. (He actually shot the club in 1975 for T&C ). Since its founding in 1966 by the Canadian brewery tycoon E.P. Taylor, Lyford's members, including a smattering of Greek shipping heirs, Henry Ford II, the Aga Khan, the Paleys, the Bacardis, and Sean Connery, have fiercely guarded their privacy, even in the social media age.
Recently, in an open letter to the Bahamas Tribune , Bacon accused Nygard of attempting to unseat the Bahamian government and prime minister. Suffice it to say, the island—as well as the Daily Mail— hasn't seen this much intrigue since Blackbeard and Calico Jack. If this isn't enough scandal, Bloomberg reported earlier today that Bacon's charitable foundation was a victim of Wall Street banker Andrew Caspersen's $25 million investment scam.
In 2011, Town & Country was again granted unfettered, exclusive access to photograph the Lyford Cay Club, after a seven-year overhaul by Scheerer. Here's a look at what a billion buys you—that is, if you can play nice.
The drawing room.
The painted palms are nearly 20 feet tall.
The entrance hall.
Pickled "cypress" wallpaper, a dramatic corner mirror, and a fig leaf sofa.
Guest suites.
Where guests of members stay.
A sign by the main bar.
" Lyford, to me, is all about pink. I think it stems from all the old colonial buildings downtown," said Scheerer.
The pool dining area.
This is a favorite place for breakfast.
The bar in the Little Club.
The heart of Lyford life, the Little Club is one of two restaurants where dinner is served. Dancing follows under the pink and white tent.
No cell phones allowed.
Mobile devices are prohibited in common areas. This land line survives in the entrance hall.
A seating area in the Yacht club.
Scheerer had white-painted tole palm fronds made for the space. They do everything but rustle.
A guest room.
The club has its own lodgings, also newly refurbished. Only members and their guests may stay here.
A finial atop the Little Club.
Pineapples are another theme of the redecoration.
The Cabana Bar.
More pineapples, this time above the Cabana Bar.
The loggia.
An evening at Lyford often begins with meeting friends on the loggia at the Little Club.
Pink, tents—are you seeing a theme?
Always look up: another tent, this time in the Cabana Bar. The painting is in the style of Orville Bulman.

As a hushed haven for the world’s elite, Lyford Cay’s illustrious history is as vivid and vibrant as its turquoise-tinted Bahamas backdrop. Lyford Cay’s story begins in 1966 when E.P. Taylor, a Canadian brewery tycoon, purchased the island. It quickly became a sanctuary for global celebrities, politicians, and business magnates.
The privacy-seeking likes of Frank Sinatra, Sean Connery, Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco were known to favor the island’s shores. Lyford’s members have included a smattering of Greek shipping heirs, Henry Ford II, the Aga Khan, the Paleys, and the Bacardis; and all of their peers to this day keep to themselves, even in the era of social media swirling back on the continent.

Lyford Cay in the Bahamas Offers a Clubby—And Unflashy—Vibe
People live there “to get away from keeping up with the joneses that goes on in other wealthy destinations,” says one local broker, an aerial view of lyford cay, bahamas, newsletter sign-up, daily briefing.

Lyford Cay, the oldest master-planned community in the Bahamas, is a very proper, old-world-style paradise that caters to those who desire the decorum of times gone by.
It was Bahamian developer Sir Harold Christie who came up with the idea for the community, and it was he who in 1954 sold the parcels of property he had collected to Canadian businessman Edward Plunkett Taylor, who put the plan into effect.
John Christie, president and managing broker for HG Christie-Christie's International Real Estate and Sir Harold’s great-nephew, said that the community takes pride in its clubby character.
“It’s old-school Wimbledon,” he said. “You are expected to wear jackets to dinner, and if you’re flashy, it’s not for us.”
Estate agent Nick Damianos, of Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty, said Lyford Cay’s social scene makes it the most special spot in the Bahamas.
“People from all over the world and all different backgrounds mix,” he said. “People come to Lyford Cay to get away from keeping up with the Joneses that goes on in other wealthy destinations. Nobody cares what other people do for a living or what their social status is. People come here to have a good time.”

Lyford Cay escaped the wrath of Hurricane Dorian, which devastated other islands of the Bahamas when it struck in September. Dorian, which is regarded as the worst natural disaster in the archipelago’s history, killed 73 people—70 of them in the Bahamas.
“There was no damage whatsoever to Lyford Cay,” said Mr. Damianos. “The storm was more than 100 miles away, and Lyford Cay experienced winds of about 40 mph.”
Lyford Cay, which covers 1,000 gated acres on the western tip of New Providence Island, is bordered on the north and west by the Atlantic Ocean, on the south by Western Road and on the east by Western Road and the community of Old Fort Bay.
Price Range
There are only 450 homes in Lyford Cay, a fact that all but guarantees perpetual exclusivity.
Prices range from about US$2 million, for a small, landlocked bungalow on a third of an acre that has no views, and soar to US$60 million to US$70 million for beachfront estates that have been newly built or newly renovated, Mr. Damianos said, adding that properties are priced in U.S. dollars for the international market.
Mr. Christie added that the standard lot size is a half acre, and that for US$1.7 million to US$1.8 million, entry-level buyers can get a 2,200-square-foot renovated house from the 1960s or 1970s on a quarter to a third of an acre.
More : 5 Beach Houses for $5 Million
“There are only a couple of big beachfront estates” that have a significant amount of land, which in Lyford Cay means up to eight acres, he said, adding that one such estate sold three to four years ago in the US$40-million range.
Mr. Damianos said that the majority of the properties sell for US$3.5 million to US$6 million, with the upper prices reflecting proximity to the most sought-after amenities, which include the canal systems that make it possible for owners to dock boats on the property, the beaches, the golf course and, most of all, the Lyford Cay Club.
Housing Stock
Since the neighborhood’s founding in the 1950s, the style of architecture has been British Colonial, which includes beach-friendly features such as sweeping verandas. Although there are no architectural guidelines, any plans must be approved by the property owners association.
Mr. Damianos said that the original houses, built by wealthy owners before Nassau became an international destination, were modest compared with what is considered luxurious today.
“Over the last 15 years, there’s been quite a renaissance in home renovations,” he said, adding that the properties are set among mature trees. “People are tearing down the old homes or expanding them. This goes along with the more polished look of the community. The property owners association has repaved all the roads and erected new entry gates.”

Mr. Christie added that although renovations are indeed occurring, residents are more often attracted to a property’s intrinsic value. “It’s not about having the newest or the chicest house,” he said.
The 2,693-square-foot Littlegate, which is on the market for $1.975 million, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The .6-acre property, which is on a cul-de-sac, also has a carport for two vehicles.
What Makes It Unique
The community, which was founded more than a half century ago, would be impossible to replicate in the Bahamas in the present market.
“At that time, it was in a remote part of the island and it was before Nassau became an international destination,” Mr. Damianos said. “It’s a community with wide boulevards, large plots of land and big green spaces. The economics of doing such a development today wouldn’t work.”
When Lyford Cay was built, the idea of a gated community was novel, Mr. Christie said, adding that it’s one of the oldest one in the world. “Geographically, it’s one of the nicest spots in the Bahamas. It’s beautifully manicured, and as far as social life, the atmosphere is traditional old-world country club similar to Palm Beach. It’s not a ripped jeans kind of place, it’s a Lilly Pulitzer kind of place.”
Luxury Amenities
Life in Lyford Cay revolves around the uber-exclusive Lyford Cay Club.
“It’s really the centerpiece of the community and drives the social life,” Mr. Damianos said. “It’s a very genteel club of refined, understated residents; it’s considered poor taste to be flashy.”
He noted that one does not have to own property to become a club member, and that property ownership in and of itself doesn’t guarantee admittance. “There are about 450 homes in Lyford Cay, and there are only about 1,300 club members,” he said.
More : A Tropical Island Beach Retreat on the Bahamas' San Salvador Island
Mr. Christie, who is a member of the club, said that he advises clients who desire membership to apply for it before purchasing property so as not to be disappointed if they are turned down. As for the fees, he said that “they are not for the faint of heart.”
The club offers a variety of unparalleled members-only amenities that attract an international crowd. In addition to a 50-room hotel and rental cottages, its campus has a swimming pool, tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, pro sports shops and a handful of restaurants.
The Captain’s Table, a private restaurant on club property, is a favorite of Mr. Christie’s. Family-owned and run, it features a menu that changes nightly, and the greens and herbs it serves are hydroponically grown on the family farm.
“There’s nothing else like the Lyford Cay Club in the Bahamas,” Mr. Damianos said, adding members are not allowed to bring cellphones on the premises or discuss or conduct business while on club property.

The only commercial entities on Lyford Cay are on the club’s campus and the office of Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty.
Directly outside Lyford Cay’s gates, there are several restaurants. Shina, a rooftop retreat in The Island House hotel overlooking the marina, features recipes from Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. It has an eight-seat sushi bar and a cocktail lounge that has a celebrated wine list.
“The dishes are really creative,” Mr. Damianos said.
Another restaurant in The Island House, Mahogany House, whose interior in appointed with features made of that wood, serves Italian-Mediterranean fare and bills itself as “somewhere that you can either grab a pizza and beer in flip-flops or a classic Bordeaux in Brioni.”
Cocoplum, a bar and bistro that serves French and Mediterranean cuisine, is a two-minute golf-cart ride from Lyford Cay’s gates. So are Island Brothers & Cie, a French bistro restaurant and bar; The Island Store, which sells furniture and home accessories; Marcie Bond, which offers women’s resort clothing; and Sabrina, which stocks women’s casual wear, jewelry, scarves and hats.

Meanwhile, Baha Mar, an exclusive, mega-resort, is a 10-minute drive away from Lyford Cay. Its casino attracts people from around the world, Mr. Damianos said.
In addition to more than 40 restaurants, bars and lounges, the complex includes brand-name dining establishments such as Cleo, which is known for its Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, and the Japanese restaurant Katsuya by Starck.
The Swimming Pig, a locally owned establishment in Baha Mar, is a gastropub that has made a name for itself serving burgers, sandwiches, and island classics. It features a bar stocked with local and international beers.
“It’s easily the most heavily trafficked restaurant in the resort,” Mr. Damianos said. “It has dark-wood floors, red leatherette banquettes and authentic pub vibes. It also has good food.”
More : A Balinese-Inspired Home in the Bahamas
The resort also has a trio of hotel towers—SLS Baha Mar, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and Rosewood Baha Mar—and a variety of boutiques devoted to luxury brands such as Rolex and Cartier.
Despite all the nightlife options, residents frequently host concerts and events in their homes.
“When musicians are on tour, they sometimes offer these private concerts,” Mr. Christie said. “These are intimate events, but they are more expensive than the public performances.”
There is only one school in the community: Lyford Cay International School, founded in 1962, is right inside the neighborhood’s gates. The private, nondenominational school for students in pre-kindergarten through 12 grade offers an international baccalaureate program.
Enrollment has grown so much that the school is building a second campus to hold only its high school students.
“The school’s a big selling point,” Mr. Christie said.

Windsor, a private co-ed boarding and day school for students ages 3 through 18, offers a Cambridge curriculum. It is a seven-minute drive from Lyford Cay.
St. Andrews International School, which is a 45-minute drive from Lyford Cay, enrolls students from pre-kindergarten through 12 grade. Founded in 1948, the private school offers an international baccalaureate program to its nearly 600 students.
Mr. Damianos noted that many residents of Lyford Cay send their children to off-island boarding schools beginning in grade 9.

Who Lives There
Although there’s a seasonality about Lyford Cay, Mr. Damianos said the majority of the residents live in the community for a substantial period of the year.
Noting that an estimated 45% of the residents make Lyford Cay their full-time home, Mr. Christie said the trend is growing.
He added that tax incentives traditionally were a draw for millionaires and billionaires from around the world. “There is no income tax and no capital-gains tax,” he said. “And now you can claim permanent residence when you purchase a property of at least $750,000.”

Mr. Damianos said that the majority of residents are from the Northeast U.S., notably New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, as well as from Toronto, elsewhere in Canada, England, France and Switzerland.
Mr. Christie said although residents come from all over the world, the population is decidedly “European and Latin American-centric.”
Notable Residents
Although Mr. Christie and Mr. Damianos declined to name any well-known residents, according to published reports actor Sean Connery, hedge fund billionaire Louis Bacon , Finnish-Canadian fashion executive Peter J. Nygård and Greek shipping tycoon George P. Livanos have homes in Lyford Cay.

Noting that prices in the Bahamas in general and Lyford Cay in particular follow the U.S. and world economies, Mr. Damianos said that those ups and downs aside, he forecasts a positive future for the community over the next five years.
“Lyford Cay is a long-established community that tends to withstand drastic price fluctuations,” he said. “I don’t anticipate that we will see acute 20% year-over-year price increases, but rather I expect we will continue our overall trend of steady appreciation of about 5% a year.”
He noted that over the last five years, the biggest price appreciation has been among beachfront properties.
“Five years ago, vacant parcels of beachfront land were selling for US$50,000 to US$70,000 per beachfront foot, while today beachfront lots are selling for between US$80,000 and US$100,000 per beachfront foot,” he said.
Mr. Christie, too, is optimistic about the future of the real estate market. He noted that during the global recession of 2009, prices in Lyford Cay didn’t drop. “But the market slowed,” he said. “Very few of the properties are financed, and nobody sold during that down time. In general, there’s not a lot of inventory, especially on the beach, so buyers have to pay what sellers ask.”
He noted that through the years, prices have climbed. As an example, he cited a beachfront property that sold for $3 million in 1995 and recently brought $12 million.
“That’s a pretty good increase,” he said. “But you have to take into account that the Bahamas was being rediscovered in 1995, so we won’t get that kind of appreciation now. But there’s more interest in owning property here.”
He said that in the next five years, he expects “a bit of appreciation in prices but nothing crazy because prices are reasonably high now.”

The Comprehensive Guide to Moscow Nightlife
- Posted on April 14, 2018 July 26, 2018
- by Kings of Russia
- 8 minute read
Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.
This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.
What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs
Prices in moscow nightlife.
Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.
Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.
Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.
Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.
Dress code & Face control
Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.
In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:
You can never be underdressed.
People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.
Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.
Types of Moscow Nightclubs
In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:
High-end clubs:
These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.
Regular Mid-level clubs:
They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.
Basic clubs/dive bars:
Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.
Electro/underground clubs:
Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.
What time to go out in Moscow
Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.
As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.
The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List
Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.
Preparty – start here at 11PM
Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).
The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.
Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.
High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.
Secret Room
Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.
Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.
A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.
Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.
Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.
I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.
Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.
Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace
Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.
Afterparty: if by 5AM you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.
Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.
The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.
Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.
Chesterfield
Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.
If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.
Shishas Sferum
This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.
In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.

- The Best Golf Clubs in…
In Russia, the western concept of building architecturally beautiful golf courses filled with modern and luxurious amenities has found fertile ground. What was considered a frivolous pastime during the time of the Soviets has become the latest trend for the stylish set. These days, there are countless options around Moscow to practice golf, polo, ski, yachting, and other sports alongside 5-star hotels, luxurious country houses, and magnificent villas.
The game of golf is a sport that requires passion and expertise. It is also part of a culture that considers this pastime a synonym of social prestige and exclusivity. In recent years, the new Russian elite has turned to golf as a vehicle of integration in the era of globalization. Golf courses are also meeting and socializing spaces where Muscovite tycoons can relax and also seal business deals.

Located 25 miles from Moscow, it is part of a vast complex featuring an 18-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus , a polo club and a mountain ski club with four tracks. The design combines classic Scottish, Alpine, and English features in a dreamy landscape.
Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia
Less than 60 miles from Moscow, this golf course with a definite Scottish design is the only one in Russia recognized as a PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) from Britain and Ireland. Located in an ecologically pristine area on the banks of the Volga River, the Zavidovo Golf Club embodies the spirit and appearance of the legendary Scottish golf courses. Its many springs and streams, hills, forests, swamps and lakes justify its reputation as a very demanding circuit. Last year, it entered the exclusive club of the 15 best golf courses in the world. ■
