Following extensive refurbishments carried out during winter 2022 SEADUCTION is now more modern and more spacious than ever thanks to a new combined indoor / outdoor deck. This new open space would normally only be found on much bigger boats.

SEADUCTION is a 55ft Riviera sports yacht on Sydney Harbour which features the latest design where the indoor lounge area is ‘upstairs’ offering 360 degree views through gigantic windows & climate control system offers all year comfort while still offering stunning views and open access to our alfresco deck area. The unique flat level open design means the indoor and outdoor areas combine giving indoor area that outdoor feeling.

SEADUCTION offers guests even more space thanks to our custom designed lower open plan lounge area. A few stairs down from the lounge takes you to another living area, complete with wall mounted 42 inch Full HD TV. Whilst SEADUCTION is at anchor, our huge hydraulically operated swim platform is at water level. The ideal location to get close to the water while staying dry (or not). On request, the swim platform can be lowered up to 500cms below the water.

Seaduction can cater for 22 passengers and is the ideal option for your next private luxury charter on Sydney Harbour.

About SEADUCTION

Specifications.

SEADUCTION is our Sydney’s premium Riviera Motor Yacht. She underwent a major refurbishment and upgrade in 2022 to increase available space for on board guests, creating a large open plan upper deck like no other in her class. She oozes style and sophistication with her long sleek lines and dark navy hull and is ideal for larger groups for all occasions harbour cruising.

SEADUCTION’s indoor saloon features a comfortable L-Shaped leather lounge with a dining table that opens up for further space. A full sized sunroof can be opened to bring the outside in on those nice sunny days or see the stars at night. Huge surrounding windows provide the sense of being outside with views all around.  

Heading down the stairs opens to a custom designed studio that joins the master bedroom and the lower lounge room. This offers another livings space and features a large flatscreen TV. With two cabins on board, the Master features a Queen size bed with ensuite, and the second cabin features and two single beds accommodating up to 4 guests for overnight charters.

The aft deck combines a large clean open deck with a row of comfortable seating for those that wish to relax. A large hydraulic table can be installed upon request and raised to a dining table or lowered to a coffee table depending on the situation. The outside deck is covered to provide shade, while the rear seating is in the sun for those that want to catch the rays. If required, the outer deck can be completely enclosed with clear plastic covers, maintaining the views, but keeping the elements out.

Forward, you’ll find a huge open plan fore deck with sun cushions, making it the perfect spot to relax and top up your tan. On the stern, SEADUCTION also features a hydraulic swim platform which can be submerged by almost half a meter, providing great fun for those wanting to get their feet wet without going all the way in.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Standard Timeslots. Quoted rates for day charges between 9am and 5pm or evening charter between 6pm and 12pm. All other times subject to approval and rate variation. Minimum Hours. Three Hour Minimum Off-Peak, Four Hour Minimum Shoulder & Peak unless approved by operator. Travel Time. Our free pickup / drop off zone is between Drummoyne Ferry Wharf and Rose Bay Ferry Wharf, additional travel time charged for pickups or drop offs past these points. Overnight Charters. Quoted price includes 4hrs cruising time 6pm to 10pm. Overnight berthing fees vary depending on location. Amenities Fee Inclusions Use of Premium Champagne Flutes, Wine Glasses, Drinking Glasses,Cuttery, Dinner Plates, Side Plates, Desert Bowls, Serving Platters, Serviettes, BBQs, Oven, Microwave, Cooktop, Bath Towels, Hand Towels, Use of Eskys, Fridges and Supply of Ice.

Amenities Fee Inclusions. Excess Cleaning Fee. Above normal spillages, vommitting, unremoved decorations, shoe marks etc $200. Vessel Damage. Any damage to vessel will be charged at rate to repair to previous undamaged condition. Bond Required. Standard $2,000 per charter cleared funds / $3,000 overnight charters. Behavior / Conduct. Charters provided on the condition that guests follow crew instructions. Failure to follow instructions, high levels of intoxication or abuse of staff / guests will result in termination of charter, no refund will be payable.

Seaduction offers guests significant space thanks to its custom designed lower open plan lounge area.  A few stairs down from the lounge takes you to another living area, complete with wall mounted 42 inch Full HD TV.  The unique flat level open design means the indoor and outdoor areas combine giving indoor area that outdoor feeling.

Whilst Seaduction is at anchor, its huge hydraulically operated swim platform is at water level, the ideal location to get close to the water while staying dry.  On request, the swim platform can also be lowered up to 500cms below the water.

What is the maximum capacity of the boat?

The vessel is surveyed to hold a maximum of 22 passengers, plus 2 crew. Please note, an infant, regardless of age is considered a passenger. 

Is the boat suitable for children? 

Yes, it is suitable for children, but they must be under adult supervision at all times.

Can we have music on board?

Yes, the vessel is equipped with a sound system where you can plug in a music compatible device like an iPhone. Please ensure your phone or MP3 player is fully charged with battery. 

Where can we go during our charter?

Our professional skipper can take you to most places within Sydney Harbour given that it is within the vessels surveyed boundaries. 

Can we extend our charter time during the charter?

Yes, you may extend your charter time, but this is subject to availability. The charter will be extended based on the decision of the captain on board and payment will be processed post charter by authorised bond or credit card. 

How do I secure my booking?

A minimum of 50% deposit is required to confirm your charter booking, with the balance payable 14 days prior to the commencement of the charter. Should you book your charter within 14 days prior to the date of charter, full payment will be required to confirm your charter booking. Upon payment of your deposit, a Skippered Charter Contract will be emailed to you, confirming details relevant to your charter, which must be signed and returned. 

Is there any paperwork to complete before we go on our charter?

Yes, we require your signed contract and authorised bond form prior to your charter commencing. 

If I cancel the charter, can I get a refund?

We do not offer refunds should you wish to cancel your charter. If boating conditions are unsafe, as determined by the management, we will offer a six month voucher to reschedule your charter based on availability. 

Preparations and Arrival 

It is suggested that you bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimmers and a seasonal jacket to the charter as weather conditions can vary on the water. 

Does our party need to get there before the set time of the charter?

All parties should arrive at the designated charter pick up point at least 15 minutes prior to your charter time to allow loading of passengers, and gear and to enable enough time for the skipper's safety briefing. 

Service of Alcohol 

Under the NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Code we reserve the right to refuse alcohol to anyone deemed to be intoxicated. In the case of BYO charters we reserve the right to limit their consumption and/or to have them removed from the vessel.

Drugs policy 

If we find that charterers are consuming drugs on board our vessels they will be removed from the vessel immediately at their expense and/or and the police will be called.

Yes all your F&B requirements are met (includes wine glasses, bottle openers and knife for cake). The vessel also offers premium catering options, or guest is free to organise their own caterer who the boat will liaise with and facilitate pre-delivery prior to boarding if required.

Yes Ice is included. The vessel also offers BYO drinks at no extra charge. We have a premium drinks supplier that will assist guests to order the drinks and deliver to the vessel at no cost. Pre-delivered drinks will be ready prior to boarding, iced and ready to serve.

Crew are provided but we can arrange for extra wait staff if required

Yes..items can get damaged in the wind and we dont allow any tape, tac or pins to secure the items. They must also be easy to remove at the end of the cruise

Yes. There is a dedicated DJ location in the cabin, facing outwards. Please let us know if you intend to bring a DJ so we can prepare. Please note there are noise restrictions on Sydney Harbour.

Yes inside the cabin and one of the bedrooms has been converted into an extra sitting room for a few guests

SEADUCTION has enough inside and undercover space for all guests. The back deck can also be enclosed in bad weather. In some extreme weather, some wharfs may not be available and will be substituted with somewhere more sheltered.

Security Bond: This is pre-authorised on a credit card and held by a 3rd party a few working day before your cruise. Funds will only be claimed if there is damage to the boat - which rarely happens but its like an insurance policy for the boat owner on every cruise. Funds are released pending no claims and reappear 2-3 business days later in your account.

Non marking, soft shoes are recommended. If high heels then flat soles. No Stiletto heels or hard soled shoes for safety reasons.

Arrival at the wharf We recommend that your party arrives at the wharf 30 minutes prior to your charter. The boats need to book the wharves and have a limited time to pick up and drop off your guests. Preferred pick up and drop off locations Our base at Rose Bay is our main pick up / drop off point due to the ample off street parking and easy access for you and your guests to the wharf and the vessel. Other pick up/drop off points are available e.g. King Street Wharf. Please note that pick ups other than Rose Bay Marina will attract an additional fee to cover wharf bookings and skippers time to get to your location.  Multiple pick up and drop offs We do not recommend multiple pick up and drop offs as this can waste a considerable amount of your charter time. Catering We can recommend some excellent caterers for you to speak with to design and deliver the perfect menu to suit your budget and taste. BYO options Yes. We suggest that you bring boat friendly food that requires minimum preparation i.e. platter-style cold foods and any beverages that you will need for your charter. The vessel is equipped with cooking utensils. What to bring As with any outdoor venue, we recommend that your guests dress for the season (i.e. sunscreen and a hat in summer, a warm jacket in winter). Yacht Mark Twain being refurbished in bid to compete in Sydney to Hobart race once more

For the better part of five decades, one yacht returned to the starting line of the Sydney to Hobart race more than any other.

The timber and fibreglass hulled Mark Twain was built in 1971 and has competed in the race a record-breaking 26 times.

But since its last effort in 2018, it has languished at port.

The yacht's new owner, Rob Payne, who refers to himself as the boat's custodian, has grand plans to refurbish the vessel, a Sparkman and Stephens 39, and return the Mark Twain to its former glory.

Although he hopes to return the boat to the starting line of the Sydney to Hobart, he also believes the yacht can be used for a greater good.

Along with Beaconsfield mine disaster survivor Brant Webb , Mr Payne has plans to establish a group called Old Saltys, which will aim to use sailing as a vessel to empower youth through sharing knowledge.

"Sailing is a metaphor for life. You've got to trim your sails and set your course and you're gonna get buffeted around," he said.

The Old Salty's motto will be 'well-weathered wisdom', and the men believe they have a lot of life experience they can share with young people anywhere Mark Twain can sail.

Mine collapse survivor finds solace on the sea

Brant Webb, who was one of two miners rescued after spending 14 days trapped almost a kilometre underground when a Tasmanian mine collapsed in 2006, says sailing helped him after the ordeal.

"After Beaconsfield, if I was having a bad day I'd call up the GP and he'd say 'get the boat ready, we're going sailing'.

"I've been sailing since I was eight years old. All my life. That's the great thing about it, you can turn your phone off out there and no-one can find you."

Mr Webb said the Old Saltys group was intended for "sailors who are too old to race and too young to cruise".

"It gives us old folk a new lease on life. The whole thing is to connect people, to put the unity in community, which we lost during COVID."

Mr Payne, a recent transplant from New Zealand, said he was heartbroken by the condition of the Mark Twain when he first found it in 2020.

"When I saw it, it broke my heart," he said, adding that he had the opportunity to "do something about" refurbishing the "old girl".

"We're only ever the custodians of these extraordinary vessels."

Once a fine racing yacht, the Mark Twain had fallen into disrepair in port at George Town in recent years.

From its first entry in the Sydney to Hobart in 1971, the boat long held the steadily increasing record for the greatest number of entries in the iconic race, even managing to clinch podium finishes for its class on several occasions.

Throughout the latter half of the 20th century, it competed in more than 20 Sydney to Hobart races, and in 2002 became the first-ever boat to have sailed in 25.

"Thousands of men and women have sailed on this beautiful vessel," Mr Payne said.

It was bought and refurbished for its 26th entry by veteran Sydney to Hobart skipper Michael Spies in 2018, but that was the last time it took part.

Mr Payne spent several months last year refurbishing the boat's hull himself and on Wednesday, March 27, the mast and boom were removed to be restored by a Beauty Point shipwright.

Along with Mr Webb, he hopes to take the Mark Twain around Tasmania, Australia and New Zealand and share their knowledge of the seas.

"My encouragement to youth is to get into sailing and you know, become part of the community within those sailing clubs," Mr Payne said.

"You don't necessarily have to own a huge boat … you can be in a little sabot [dinghy] and have that experience on the water. It's life changing and transformational."

He is keen to share the refurbishment project with anyone who wants to be involved and hopes the Mark Twain will sail again in the next two to three years.

No police charges for Taylor Swift’s dad over paparazzi incident in Sydney

SYDNEY (AP) — Taylor Swift’s father will not be charged over a paparazzi photographer’s claim that Scott Swift assaulted him on the Sydney waterfront hours after the pop star’s Australian tour ended last month.

Photographer Ben McDonald had alleged that one of Swift’s security guards forced an umbrella into his face and camera and that Scott Swift then punched him at the Neutral Bay Wharf, where the father and daughter had just come ashore from a yacht Feb. 27.

Taylor Swift’s representatives responded by accusing members of the media of aggression during the interaction.

Police began investigating the incident at the time and announced Wednesday that “no further police action” would be taken.

“No offences were detected, and the investigation was concluded with no further police action required,” said the statement from the New South Wales Police Force.

More than 600,000 fans saw the Australian leg of her Eras Tour at seven Australian stadium concerts.

Her tour shattered records when it reportedly surpassed $1 billion last year , and her film adaptation of the tour quickly took No. 1 at the box office and became the highest-grossing concert film to date.
