The current ATLANTIC is the replica of legendary ATLANTIC which was commissioned by New York Yacht Club member Wilson Marshall, Atlantic and which was launched in 1903. After owning, restoring, rebuilding or recreating a number of famous yachts such as Thendara, Aile Blanche, Borkumriff, Zaca a te Moana and most recently the Herreshoff racing schooner Eleonora, Dutch yachtsman Ed Kastelein planned his ultimate masterpiece: the recreation of the 3-mast schooner Atlantic.
The project was certainly his most ambitious; with her length over deck of 185 feet (56 metres) she is the largest classic racing schooner ever to be recreated. Ed Kastelein was determined for her to be the way she was when she made history in 1905, her original lines were honoured to the finest detail and her sail plan is identical to that of her victorious 1905 Transatlantic Race which made her immortal in yachting history. Above all, she is once again breathtakingly beautiful, turning heads wherever the wind takes her.
Atlantic's dimensions are simply incredible; over deck she measures a remarkable 56 meters. Her graceful sheer line and long overhangs accentuate her grace while her waterline length of 42 meters and narrow beam are a promise of unmatched speed under sail. Her spars tower some 45 meters above the waterline and support a staggering area of 1,750 m² of sail, more than two and a half times that of the already awesome J-Class yachts.
Special Features :
- Exact replica of the legendary ATLANTIC Schooner from 1903 - Neoclassic Schooner with exceptionnal dimensions (the biggest never built) - A warm, comfortable and luxurious interior - 6 cabins for guests (including one master cabin)

Dutch entrepreneur and lifelong yachting enthusiast Ed Kastelein reconstructed the iconic three mast Schooner ATLANTIC, that no-one thought would ever sail again. Given the yacht’s incredible dimensions a highly ambitious project. Measuring 56 metres she is the largest classic racing schooner ever to be recreated.
Her spars tower some 45 meters above the waterline to support an area of 1750m² of sail, which is more than two and a half times that of the already awesome J-Class yachts. Ed Kastelein was determined for her to be as she was when she wrote history winning the 1905 Transatlantic race.
Achieving yachting immortality in 1905, the breathtakingly beautiful Atlantic will keep on turning heads for many years to come!
The yacht is ready to be handed over to a new owner who cares for classic beauty and appreciates this interesting opportunity. Price will be exchanged on application.
You are kindly invited to visit the yacht in the South of France, by appointment.

The story of 106m Black Pearl's long-awaited sail across the Atlantic
It’s taken five years for this groundbreaking yacht to show the world what she’s really made of. So was it worth the wait? Holly Overton gets the inside track from her captain and crew.
Black Pearl was designed to push the boundaries of technology and what was thought to be possible for a 106.7-metre under sail. But even for her captain, Christian Truter, carving through the busy waters of St Barths at 14 knots was a bold move. She was an unexpected guest and her fashionably late arrival to New Year’s celebrations caused quite the stir. “We were heeled over, full sail set, blitzing the anchorage between all the boats,” Truter recalls. This was the first time Black Pearl had ever seen this side of the Atlantic, and she wanted to let the world know she had arrived.
It took six years, a visionary owner, and an army of designers, architects and engineers to build Black Pearl . When she was finally delivered in 2018, she was the largest sailing yacht in the world and by far the most technologically advanced. She was built to cross oceans but, up until last year, had barely strayed from Europe.
“The original plan was to sail around the world,” explains Derek Munro, the owner’s representative. “The owner wanted to show the boat off and show the technology to as many people as possible.” She is essentially a wind-driven power plant with three freestanding masts and 2,900 square metres of sail. Her revolutionary DynaRig was a significant advancement on Maltese Falcon , with 25 per cent more sail area, electric rotating spars that made her more manoeuvrable and a hinged rig that reduces her air draught so she could pass through the Panama Canal. Then there is all the stuff you can’t see: variable-pitch propellers which can produce enough energy to power the hotel load under sail or recharge the batteries, allowing her to cross oceans without burning a litre of fuel; her waste heat recovery system is perhaps the most advanced ever seen on board a private vessel; and her spars, yards and superstructure are even wired for solar.
After the shakedown from the Oceanco shipyard in the Netherlands to Gibraltar, she entered a long warranty period. “There were still some technical elements that needed finishing and [the owner] wasn’t in a hurry. He wanted things to be perfect and he was happy to take the time to do that,” explains Captain Truter. When she finally set sail, Black Pearl logged some serious miles in the Mediterranean, bouncing between Gibraltar and Cyprus, before heading into the North Sea around the tip of Denmark and up into the Baltics.
Any plans for a global tour were put on pause during the Covid-19 pandemic, which kept her bound to Europe. But it was the unexpected death of her owner in 2021 that put Black Pearl in a renewed state of limbo. She sat on the dock in Montenegro for more than a year, occasionally running training sails with the crew, so that when the call eventually came in, they could drop lines and go. That is the beauty of the DynaRig. There are no sheets to run, no stays, no winches, no heavy sails to heave across the deck or covers to remove. You could be off an anchorage with sails set in just seven minutes.
“The boat has been getting prepped to go to the Caribbean for a long time. There was a false start the year before, but this year we knew we were going,” says Truter. She checked into the Adriatic42 shipyard in Montenegro at the beginning of November for her five-year class survey in preparation.
“Winter in the Mediterranean, particularly in the Adriatic, you spend a lot of time watching the weather. It was serendipity that we had a window opening up to dodge low-pressure systems that also aligned with our survey,” says Truter. The last contractors stepped off the boat at 5pm on November 24 and by 8pm the crew was dropping lines and heading to Albania to bunker.
“We sailed across the boot of Italy and up through Messina, and because of the wind – we had 40-plus knots – we hugged the coast of Italy. Once we got up around Capri, we did a beautiful bear away and, with wind on the quarter, sailed towards Bonifacio,” Truter explains. They were chasing the incoming mistral in the Golfe du Lion. “We threw a dart onto the chart at which point we expected the wind to come in on the mistral. And pretty much on that point, we ended up with 40 to 50 knots of wind. We bore away, shortened sail and sailed at 15 knots towards Menorca.”
A brief stop in Palma saw the conclusion of a few inspection items left over from the survey in Montenegro and some time spent poring over weather charts. “It had been a weird year in the Atlantic with a lot of unsettled low- pressure systems quite far south disrupting the Azores high and not really providing great crossing weather. As we were sitting there it looked like a pattern was forming to give us reinforced trades from just south of the Canaries if we hustled,” says Truter.
The crew made haste for Tenerife, where they picked up a couple of stowaways, Munro and the former captain, Chris Gartner, and were soon heading south to catch the weather system that was opening up. “We motor-sailed for a day towards 22 [degrees] north, and as soon as we got into the wind, around 23 [degrees] north, we turned off the engines and set full sail. We sailed the whole way to St Barths from there.”
Reinforced trade winds effectively slingshot them across the Atlantic. The wind was in the high thirties and she was cantering along at up to 19 knots. “We would have gone faster but we were spinning props to create electricity so we could turn our generators off,” says Truter. It is a careful balancing act. Running the regeneration system robs her of a couple of knots but feeds energy back into the vessel. At the same time, they needed pace to stay ahead of the weather system that was nipping at the transom.
Most of the helming is done from the two large wheels on the flybridge with the wheelhouse used only on occasion. And if there is bad weather? “You put your foulies on and get a cup of coffee,” says chief officer Matthew Hopkins.
Black Pearl left Montenegro with 22 crew and collected a few more en route. The 12-day transatlantic overlapped with the festive period and the crew spent Christmas and New Year’s Eve at sea. For almost half of those on board, it was their first Atlantic crossing. “There may have been a ritual,” laughs Truter. “King Neptune [aka Gartner] definitely made himself present.”
On Christmas Eve, Black Pearl caught up to a solo rower competing in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. The crew gathered on the flybridge to sing him We Wish You a Merry Christmas. And the morning after, they had a visit from Santa Claus, aka Munro.
Black Pearl was underway for 20.5 days from Montenegro to St Barths. She sailed more than 80 per cent of the way, averaging 11 knots, and consumed 32,000 litres of fuel over 5,600 nautical miles. (A conventional 100-metre motor yacht would burn around 10,000 litres a day.)
The arrival of Black Pearl into St Barths on January 2 was a poignant moment, particularly for Chris Gartner. Steering from the flybridge with sights on the anchorage, Truter handed the helm to Gartner, who had been Black Pearl’s captain and custodian from the build until last year when he left to join a new project. The journey marked the end of a chapter in his career and the start of a new one for Black Pearl .
With a renewed sense of adventure, Black Pearl is set to welcome others to experience her power and prowess for the first time as she joins the charter fleet. She will offer charterers a unique “Eco Mode” option where the boat will waive any fuel costs to those who agree to mostly sail and, when engine power is necessary, only use the electric motors at a maximum speed of 11 knots.
At the time of writing , Black Pearl is back in the Med but plans to return to the Caribbean. Having completed her first – and now second – Atlantic crossings, the crew are resolute in their commitment to the mission started by her late owner: to cross oceans and leave the smallest possible footprint. “As with any yacht you want to see them out on the ocean chewing up the miles and going to different places,” says Munro. “This was our first big voyage and hopefully the start of many, many more.”

Sailing Yacht Atlantis
A 1957 custom classic 50' steel sloop by Heinrich Garbers
Atlantis is our 50' steel sloop designed by Kurt Oehlmann and constructed in 1957 in Hamburg by the German boat builder Heinrich Garbers. Built in the immediate post-war era out of highest quality steel originally milled for the manufacture of U Boats, Atlantis is strong and safe, but she is also sea-kindly and elegant. Little is known of her early life but, having been beached and damaged by a hurricane in 1982, Atlantis was subsequently sympthetically restored and is now owner maintained and equipped using the best quality materials to preserve her for adventures still to follow and generations yet to come.

I spent the next 20 years in high end real estate producing over 175 million in sales in the Charleston area. Now I am pursuing my passion for boats and the yachting business. Owning boats all my life and having a second home in the Bahamas for the past 12 years has given me an extensive amount of experience that I can share with you. Divorced father of two great grown kids allows me plenty of time to devote to my yachting clients.

Originally from Myrtle Beach, Leah Carroll emits that South Carolina charm we all love. Anyone who knows Leah knows that there is nothing this lady cannot accomplish once she sets her mind to it. Leah’s degree from Coast Carolina University was in communications and graphic design. After college, Leah became a mortgage lender at South Atlantic Bank where she successfully closed over $100 million in loans during her 7-year tenure.
Always looking for new challenges and growth, Leah moved on to obtain her real estate license and sold many homes in and around Myrtle Beach. Simultaneously, Leah immersed herself in volunteer work at several Myrtle Beach based charities including Grand Strand Miracle League, Toys-4-Tots and New Directions Homeless Shelter. More recently, she has been involved in raising funds and awareness with Songwriters in Paradise, a tremendous relief effort for Hurricane Dorian survivors as well as the Parents as Teachers Toy Drive.
After moving to Florida to start her life with her husband, Chris Carroll, Leah was able to carve an impressive niche in the South Florida Real Estate Market. The couple has traveled extensively in the Bahamas by yacht, so it was only natural to compliment her real estate business with yacht sales.

Brent Holleman's love for the sea started at an early age when he became a young sailor racing sailboats at the local yacht club in Miami, Florida. He continued to learn about boating from his father, a restauranteur and captain, grandfather, who was an avid fisherman, and grandmother, who was a yacht broker.
In his younger years, Brent and his family set out to sail around the world on a 45’ ketch, where he began mastering the fundamentals of seamanship and navigation and learned the demands of the sea, cruising, outfitting and maintaining yachts. After a year of great experiences and lessons exploring the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Leeward and Windward Islands of the Caribbean, he came home to attend college and help run the family business, where he became a noted and very successful gourmet chef and restaurateur whose training took him all over North America and Europe.
He kept his skills honed over the coming years by owning and bareboat chartering 40-60’ power and sailing vessels. In 2001 Brent put his interest in the sea back in first place when he retired from the restaurant business and reestablished himself as a yacht broker and yacht captain. He received his 200-ton MCA/RYA Yachtmaster license, and USCG 500-ton Master Merchant Marine Officer license, and most recently captain on a fleet of incredible yachts such as: Feadship, 9X Pershing, Lazzara and Ocean Alexander, and is also a certified diver.
He has logged thousands of nautical miles over the East Coast of the United States, Bahamas, Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific oceans. In the summer, he loves sailing and working on his Pearson sloop in the Long Island Sound with his family and friends.
Today Brent has partnered with Atlantic Yacht and Ship, where he focuses on helping people buy, sell, charter and run their boats to the highest standards, while cruising the oceans making great friends in quaint ports and great anchorages.
“As part of my effort to connect people to the sea, I strive to make sure everyone’s experience is an enjoyable and stress-free seamless process, while guiding and assisting them to find the best possible yacht,” Brent says. “I know the questions to ask customers, and with my knowledge acquired as a captain and high end service provider, I can really assist and guide them in finding the best yacht for their specific desires and needs that will bring them a lifetime of pleasure and enjoyment on the water.”

David was patient, taking the time to show us around the entire boat and providing us with a wealth of relevant information regarding the purchasing process. We feel confident in our dealings with David in a near future." -Christian Milot
A 3rd generation South Floridian, Jason comes from a family of fisherman and boaters. Spending time on the water was always his passion. As a young boy he spent his time fishing on the weekends and after school. He had his first boat before he was old enough to drive a car. Jason holds a 200 ton captains license and manages a well established Fort Lauderdale yacht charter business.
Johnny hales from the frigid north country of Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Northwood School in Lake Placid, NY & Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. He then did a two-year stint hopping between the European Alps as ski instructor and the Caribbean Islands as a water sports instructor with Club Med, which helped cultivate his language skills, as well as his ability to adapt to varying cultural environments.
He has always gravitated to the mountains and water, having a great knack for boating. His experience started at a young age on Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, cruising the waters from the inland lakes of the North, up and down the Eastern Seaboard, Mediterranean and the Caribbean seas. Johnny has seen more than most and brings to the table a first-hand, well-rounded experience of education, seamanship and people skills - essential in putting buyers and sellers together, in a fair and competent way. He's often been quoted "God gave us two ears and one mouth," which means we should do twice the listening and half the talking on behalf of our clientele.
Johnny shared his yacht brokerage with his brother Pete, at Woods & Oviatt when they opened their doors back in 1973. He then branched off and started J. Woods Marine Group in 1989. Now with50 plus years in the industry, he re-joined Pete, and his two sons Ryan & Matt, at Woods & Associates Yacht Brokerage 2016. After 6 years, they started pulling back some, now with offices in their homes. Johnny wanted an office outside the home, so reopened J. Woods Marine Group and is now aligned with, Atlantic Yacht & Ship office in Dania, FL - known to be a fun and entertaining atmosphere to do business, whether buying or selling.
Johnny has three great kids plusthree granddaughters: daughter Jessica, along with sons, Will & Sean ...what a handful! His other interests that keep him busy are traveling with wife Laurie. Johnny is an accomplished pilot & loves to fly, escape to their home in Colorado to ski, and watch the professional sports teams of South Florida.
Please give Johnny a call for your next boat deal. You are assured to be treated professionally and honestly. Whether buying or selling, the client's interests are always first and foremost!

Gregg spent his early years crewing on Sport Fishing vessels and Yachts around the South Florida and Bahamas area. This allowed him to accumulate a vast amount of underway sea time and experience offshore.
After Gregg received his A.S Degree in Marine Propulsion Technology, he quickly obtained his U.S. Coast Guard 100-Ton Master License. Soon after that he worked as a diesel mechanic then an Outboard mechanic for several years.
Always open for new challenges he moved his sights on Vessel manufacturing. This included two years at Thunderbird Formula Boats as Quality Assurance Manager. After that several years at Blackfin Yachts also in QC department.
After several Marine trade publications featured Gregg's early accomplishments, he was scouted by a government contracting corporation. He was placed as a sight manager on the US Customs vessel maintenance and deployment division. Eventually promoted to Contract manager and Quality Assurance Leason manager.
Moving his sights on new challenges he began working with insurance companies preforming marine damage appraisals and cause of loss reports. Gregg continued this path for many years representing several notable companies as a self-employed sub-contractor.
For the last 23 years Gregg has been a Licensed Yacht & Ship Broker and member of Florida Yacht Brokers Association. Now with Atlantic Yacht & Ship Gregg feels very much at home. He has experience with countless sales of Motor Yachts, Trawlers, Sport Fishing vessels, and Sail. Gregg has been able to successfully apply his vast marine industry knowledge to assist his clients. He also oversees vessel retrofits and deliveries. Gregg’s repeat clientele and frequent referrals is a testament to his dedication to finding your next dream vessel. Gregg and his wife reside in Key West, Fort Lauderdale, and North Carolina and is always willing to travel to any location worldwide to apply his trade & expertise.

Mike Levell was born on the shores of Lake St. Clair in southeast Michigan. He now splits his time between Michigan and south Florida. Back in 1983, he decided to buy a 52′ wooden motor yacht to restore and cruise the Great Lakes. The restoration happened and he was hooked on boating. Shortly thereafter, he was offered a mate position on a busy corporate yacht cruising between south Florida and the Great Lakes. This naturally led him to get his master’s license. He has since maintained and captained many motor yachts all over the Great Lakes, the East Coast, and Florida (including about 25 trips between south Florida and the Great Lakes). In 1991, a happy repeat client of AYS introduced Mike to the company and he has been with us ever since. Mike prides himself on having some of the cleanest yachts available among his listings. He prefers to preview the yachts that he shows to his buyers to make sure that they are as good as the photos and spec sheets portray. He is not afraid to travel for his clients. The majority of his clients come back to him every time they are ready for a different boat.
