Premium Catamaran Charter Croatia 2024 | Bareboat or Crewed
Catamaran charter in Croatia is the ultimate way to experience the breathtaking coast of Croatia and the Adriatic.
Why Catamaran
Catamarans offer more space, comfort, and stability, plus they are excellently equipped.
Comfort above all
With two hulls, they are extremely stable and suitable for everyone. Additional space on board, allows more privacy.
Safety first
Shallower drafts than sailboats let you really get close to a stunning beach or peaceful cove.
Fuel consumption
Catamarans consume far less fuel than motorboats, and raising sails every once in a while saves even more fuel.
Catamaran charter in Croatia by far exceeds a typical vacation — it’s an experience you’ll never forget. From the serenity of hidden bays to the vibrant coastal towns, every moment on a catamaran becomes unforgettable.
Catamarans are practically houseboats that can accommodate a large number of people . If you’re traveling as a larger group, family, or two families, the roomy layout of catamarans and ample deck space ensure everyone on board has their own corner of tranquility. The stability of a catamaran adds a layer of relaxation , and the shallow draft of these boats allows you to reach secluded coves and quiet beaches away from the hustle.
Sailing enthusiasts can choose among a fine selection of excellently equipped Lagoon catamarans available for bareboat charter . In case you don’t have any or have little sailing experience, hop on board our crewed or skippered catamarans . Or, charter a bareboat catamaran and additionally hire a skipper together with this catamaran. All Nava catamarans have small crew cabins in the bow, which allows you to still have privacy on board. This way, you can fully relax and enjoy and let the professionals do their work. Choose your perfect Catamaran Charter Croatia experience and book directly online from the authorized Lagoon dealer in Croatia . Or, opt for the hand-picked catamarans from our trustworthy partners. Begin planning your exclusive escape today.
Catamaran – the most popular type of charter for good reason.
Catamarans are super popular with both amateur and experienced sailors, as they provide a stable and enjoyable voyage. It’s generally agreed that catamarans provide a softer ride in a seaway, it’s easier to maneuver them at slow speed and rotate easily by using their two engines. Being wider and more spacious than sailing yachts, catamarans are perfect for families and groups of friends looking for the combination of true freedom and authentic sailing with the comfort of a motor yacht. Among sailors, they are called SUVs on the water.
Best Price Guarantee
We are so confident that we offer the best prices on catamaran charters on the Adriatic Sea that we offer a best price guarantee. If you find a lower price on an identical catamaran charter from a reputable company, we will match the price and beat it by 5%.
So why wait? Book your catamaran charter today and take advantage of our best price guarantee!
Guest testimonials
Here are some reviews and guest testimonials we have been collecting for years. We value each feedback and encourage all guests to share their Nava Catamaran Charter experience in Croatia.
This last week, we’ve had a smooth sail. Not entirely in terms of the sea, but in terms of being able to lay back and enjoy, without anything discomforting our moment of peace. Superior navigation, exceptionally delicious meals and impeccable hospitality by Ratko, Nina and Arijana, have enables us to enjoy Dalmatia like never before.
We have had the most wonderful time this last week on the Lagoon 50. A series of beautiful villages, fantastic swimming spots and lots of paddleboarding and laughing made it amazing. But of course, Matea’s unbelievable lunches (and breakfast!) and Marijo’s brilliant skippering and restaurant tips and local knowledge made it even better.
We are all very refreshed, relaxed, and most of all, grateful.
Thank you, Marijo and Nava Team for an amazing and incredible week of adventures in the Dalmatian islands. Quality time with friends and family with lots of laughter and giggles swimming in the turquoise waters. Kudos to skipper Marijo who made it extra special. This will be a hard holiday to top!

Faqs about catamaran charter croatia.
Do you have a lot of questions about catamaran charter in Croatia? Start here with this short FAQ. If you need more continue to our full FAQ page and then head on over to the Terms and Conditions page , before booking.
How much does it cost to rent a catamaran in Croatia ?
Catamaran charter price in Croatia depends on many different factors, from type and size of the boat, preferred period, duration of the trip, crew onboard, etc. Check our full price list or just browse our catamaran offer above. Most catamarans are chartered for at least a week.
The charter rental price does not include obligatory expenses, which are the comfort package and visitor’s tax. Comfort package for catamarans includes diver services, final cleaning, liquid for dishes with sponge, bin bag, toilet paper, soap, table cloth, paper tissues, matches, shower gel and hair shampoo (2 sets per cabin), dinghy and outboard engine with 5 L of fuel. Catamarans above 45ft are also provided with an espresso coffee machine with 32 capsules/per week, a SUP board, and beach towels. Lagoon Sixty 5, Lagoon 55, Lagoon 51, and Lagoons 50 have double bedding (bed linen, hand, bath, and beach towels).
Every person on the boat, older than 12, has to pay a local tax for the number of days traveling. This is payable in cash or by credit card at the marina.
However, additional expenses have to be taken into planning the whole budget: fuel tanks and mooring fees, but also stocking your boat with food and drinks before departing. These expenses all depend on your preferences. We will provide the vessel with full fuel tanks and you must return the vessel with full tanks before arriving back to one of our bases in Split, Slano, or Rogoznica for the check-out. Important: fees will be applied if boat is not returned with a full fuel tank. This applies to the fuel tanks onboard the vessel as well as the generator.
Do you need a license to rent a catamaran in Croatia?
For a catamaran charter in Croatia, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid sailing license of category B for catamarans of less than 30 GT. You require a Yacht Master License for catamarans of over 45 feet, plus an additional crew member with a basic sailing license. For those without a license, the only option is renting a skippered catamaran, or hiring a skipper with a bareboat charter. The flexibility to choose between bareboat and skippered charters, coupled with the ability to explore at your own pace, makes sailing in Croatia a perfect holiday destination for the ultimate dream vacation.
Bareboat or skippered charter?
Be your own captain on a bareboat charter and sail Croatia on your own terms. All catamarans have autopilot so it’s much easier to sail a catamaran alone. Smaller models such as Lagoon 40 and 42 are even designed for short-handed sailing. If you’re not experienced enough or don’t hold a valid sailing license, enjoy a stress-free way of sailing with an experienced skipper who will ensure smooth sailing.
What yacht activities are available on board?
Nava Boats offer adrenaline-pumping activities on most of our yachts. All catamarans bigger than 45 feet have a SUP board included in the price. Larger catamarans have additional water toys for you to enjoy, such as snorkel sets, sea scooter, towing tube and electric scooter. Read more in our water toys blog . If the catamaran you have selected does not include these fun additions, feel free to request quotes for extra water toys and keep your crew entertained.
Catamaran charter bases in Croatia – which one is the best?
Thirty extra kilometers by car is nothing compared to sailing the same distance. Plan your trip and choose the starting point as close to your route as possible. You will have more time to enjoy the sea and fewer worries when returning to the home marina. With our three nautical bases in Split, Slano and Rogoznica, you can pick your perfect starting point for sailing different areas in Croatia. Check Croatian Sailing Routes to help you decide which marina to select as your base. Can’t decide which one is for you? If you need any info or help with the best starting point, contact us, and we will provide you with the best possible options.

Licence to sail in croatia.
To sail a yacht bareboat in Croatia the Croatian authorities require the skipper to be over 18 and have a sailing licence issued by a statutory authority. Currently this would be a photo card RYA Coastal Skipper practical certificate or higher, Bareboat Chartering Standard (ASA 104) or the equivalent from your country, ICC (International Certificate of Competence) for sail or an IPC (International Proficiency Certificate) or SLC (Sailing Licence & Credentials) with NauticEd. A VHF radio license is also required. The co-skipper should also be competent to assist the skipper to sail the yacht you are chartering and be over 18 years old. Higher level certification, such as Yacht Master is often required for larger yachts, for example, catamarans around 45 feet+. We can help you navigate your way to have the right qualifications and experience for the yacht you want to charter.

“Everything was great! The boat was perfect for our needs”
Dear Grigory, Everything was great! The boat was perfect for our needs and the skipper, Slavin, was really friendly. The only downside was that the boat was late getting ready - 6:30pm - but we were still able to make it out of port that night so in …

“We tried to make the most of it, but it was far from ideal”
Hey Grigory, thanks for asking. The boat was not in good condition. For example, there were no mooring, deck or motoring lights, so we feared a boat would hit us while we slept, and were not complying with the law while sailing at night. The anchor w…
Sailing Croatia
Without a doubt, Croatia can be described as one of the best kept secrets of the European sailing destinations. Sheltered by the chain of the Dinaric Alps, its endless coastline is covered with pristine beaches and charming medieval towns. A Croatia yacht charter is a wonderful choice whether you are looking for a relaxed sailing vacation with your family, or an exiting sailing adventure with your friends. This region has many secluded islands and islets, along with a wide variety of comfortable marinas. You can choose a boat charter in Croatia with easy hops or longer, more challenging passages.
A Croatian sailing vacation offers a wonderful chance to explore ancient ruins and historic cities, to stay for a night in a secluded anchorage, or to visit traditional fishing villages - all of this in one of the most beautiful landscapes in Europe.
Yachting is one of the most popular forms of recreation in Croatia, thus numerous catamarans and sailboats can be seen all over the coastline. Croatia yacht charters are well developed. Here you will find one of the biggest European chains of modern marinas with berths for yachts and catamarans from 30 to over 100 feet long. Anchorages, moorings, and marinas have all the necessary amenities and are located within a few miles of one another. In addition, while sailing in Croatia you will find many free moorings near family restaurants where you can sample local wines and fresh seafood right on board your own yacht.
The Adriatic coastline can be divided into three counties: Istria, Central Dalmatia and South Dalmatia. Yacht charters in Croatia are available all along the coast. Below are some useful tips for selecting a boat rental in Croatia that will help you find the perfect time and place for your dream sailing trip.
North Croatia Sailing – Istria County
July to the middle of September is the best time for a yacht charter in the northern part of Croatia. During this season the water is warm and most days are sunny, while the prevailing wind is mild mistral. In early spring and late autumn this area may be prone to bora, strong local northeastern winds.
One of the most convenient places to start a North Croatia yacht charter is in Pula, the city closest to the international airport.
During your sailing vacation in the northern region of Istria, we recommend a visit to the former Tito`s state summer residence, his favorite safari park in the Brijuni Islands, to walk under the ancient pines of Mali Losinj and to sail under the picturesque Cres Island bridge. The stunning view of the ancient Rovigno City and its main landmark, St. Euphemia Basilica, can be seen only from the water. If you are looking for a more challenging sailing passage in Croatia, you may like to head from Pula directly to Venice. Within a several hour journey you will find yourself along the Italian coast.
Southern Croatia boat rentals – Dubrovnik County
Since ancient times Croatia has had great strategic importance, thus over the centuries various civilizations and cultures have left part of their legacy and influence, creating a rich and diverse culture.
Sailing along the southern Adriatic Coast of Croatia is recommended for sailors with moderate to good sailing experience. In this part of the country, good weather and fair winds last longer into the season, so you can explore the sights and enjoy the beauty of the Adriatic coast until late autumn. The climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters.
Dubrovnik sailing vacations
A yacht charter in Dubrovnik, the southernmost region of Croatia, offers a great variety of comfortable marinas and secluded moorings. The medieval city of Dubrovnik is called the "Pearl of the Adriatic" and because of its long history of maritime trade, has played an important role since ancient times. Today its blend of historic architecture and modern cafes and nightlife make it a fascinating destination.
The rugged coast south of Croatia is a great choice for sailors who value stunning scenery and historical sites more than the distance passed. What could be better than having breakfast on board your yacht near an ancient fortress of an old town
During a yacht charter in Croatia, you won't want to miss a visit to Mljet National Park and the golden island of Sipan. There you will find stunning vistas of the Dalmatian Islands and enjoy a landscape covered with orange and tangerine trees, palms, agaves, Renaissance parks, flower gardens and medieval stone buildings.
Sailing in Split area
The Split area is one of the most popular Croatia yacht charter destinations. Located only 10 minutes from the airport, it attracts sailors from all over the Europe. A Split yacht charter is an easy starting point for a sailing vacation in Croatia, with open access to the most stunning destinations and secluded islands.
Within a 7-day Croatia yacht charter you will be able to visit Hvar, an island popular for its exclusive cafes and bars on the Adriatic, learn how to extract marble on the island of Bra, visit famous Korula island, the birthplace of Marco Polo, and soak up history and culture with Renaissance cathedrals and ancient monuments while walking the ancient streets of Trogir.
When sailing in the Split area do not miss a chance to visit the waterfalls located in Krk National Park, a gorgeous destination any time of year.
Overall, a Croatia yacht charter offers an ideal mix of history, exquisite Mediterranean cuisine and unforgettable sailing opportunities. With excellent infrastructure, short passages and calm waters, Croatia yacht charters rival any other sailing destinations in the world.
It is also a perfect country for those who are looking for an unforgettable sailing adventure in Europe.

The deck and lounge are located at the same level which gives the impression of greater spaciousness of the ship. Catamarans can achieve considerably higher speed while sailing than mono-hulls. Most of them have 4-6 cabins which mean that can accommodate 8-12 persons. Catamarans often have a shallower drought than same-size mono-hulls so you can explore all of the hidden small bays and beaches on islands as well as on the Croatian Adriatic coast.

Thank you for best week of my life. The boat performed perfectly. Out skipper Josko was just fantastic captain and great fun to have. He really made sure that we had the possibility to enjoy this week to the max. Very professional and good anticipation to weather conditions! I am very happy to have him as a skipper.
We had such a great week, despite two days of rain. This is why Croatia is so unique. There is always something to see and something to do. We couldn’t believe how romantic Croatian small towns are on the rain. The boat behaved very well, the food was exceptionally good in the konobas, and all the locals were friendly and helpful. Our skipper was very proffessional but also friendly, took us to the best places such as see some beautiful caves and bays, sea is so clear and clean.
Josko from Catamaran Charter Croatia was incredible to work with – truly an expert and so well connected in the area. The boats he works with are far superior to the majority we saw on the sea and the staff he has access to are incredible! From the service, the food, the knowledge on best places to avoid crowds and find the perfect cove to swim or the perfect locals restaurant really made the trip special. Croatia is a special place – a cleaner version of Italy with more hospitable people and tremendous food & wine. The towns, scenery, history, architecture were all incredible.

Stability and comfort of catamaran
Catamaran has two connected hulls for more stability. Though the principle on which a mono-hull and multihull sail is the same, the latter provides more stability, speed and comfort because of two hulls and two keels. When it comes to beam reach and downwind sailing, it sails faster than a mono-hull. A yacht is your perfect choice for a comfortable and easy going cruise for you, your friends and family. With 4 to 6 cabins that can accommodate 8 to 12 persons and a large main deck outside, catamaran will be the ideal choice.
Why rent a catamaran? If you like to sail, but also would love that extra space on board, catamaran charter Croatia is your best choice. We offer large selection of more than 600 different boats in all Adriatic sailing areas. With brands like Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot, Nautitech, Bali and Catana Cats for rent, our fleet consists of brand new catamarans and well maintained older yachts with a good price.
Although these vessels are easier to maneuver in tight spaces thanks to their two engine setup, they are still much wider than regular monohulls, so they require special attention while in marinas. In general, these yachts are faster and more stable than regular sailboats, which is something that is appreciated by both families and professional sailors alike.
What I have to do to book a catamaran?
So, you need not plan big for a Croatia vacation or when you want to rent a catamaran, as rental prices are not exorbitant as they used to be. Bareboat Yacht Charter in Croatia for Your Sailing Holidays!
Just think of sailing away with your family and friends in complete freedom. Sounds tempting, doesn’t it? As long as you are a reasonably experienced sailor and you have an adequate (international) skipper’s license, you can charter one of our boats without a skipper and enjoy sailing by yourself.
What is a bareboat charter?
In the bareboat charter , you as the skipper take full responsibility for the chartered boat and its crew members. Regardless of its name, a bareboat charter does not come empty or bare. Instead, the boat will be fully loaded with everything you need for a safe and comfortable sailing vacation.
Even though the skipper is the only person in charge of the boat, every other crew member should take some part in responsibility to have a safe and comfortable vacation. It is difficult for one person to take care of the navigation and make sure that everything else on board runs smoothly. Everybody on board should have their tasks and obligations and this is what makes the bareboat charter quite a unique experience in teamwork as well.
What are bareboat charter requirements in Croatia?
According to Croatian maritime law, you must have a permit issued by the state government of the country you are coming from in order to operate a pleasure vessel. Furthermore necessary is the VHF license. Check valid sailing licenses in Croatia !
Reasons to go for Bareboat Yacht Charter in Croatia
After discussing how bareboat yacht charters actually work, it is time to discuss why you should choose a bareboat charter in Croatia for your next vacation.
If you have a valid international skippers license, the facts listed below should help you make up your mind:
- You will enjoy a private yacht Although our skippers are chosen both for their professional skills and for their people skills, most people prefer to have their privacy onboard a yacht. Why settle just for cabins when you can have the boat all for yourself!? You can consider it as your own piece of paradise in which you are surrounded only by your family and friends. As much as yachts can be large, they are tiny compared to the outdoors and the crew will spend a lot of time together socialising, swimming, eating and whatever they are planning on doing. If you would like to share that time only with your loved ones, the bareboat charter is the way to go.
- You will spend less money In the bareboat charter, you are not paying for the skipper’s fee and for his food and drinks or taking him along to the restaurants that you are enjoying. So, if you are able to sail a yacht yourself and you feel confident in finding your way in the sailing area, a bareboat yacht charter will be easier in your pocket. If you are wondering how the charter pricing work we have you covered.
- Your family and friends can serve as the "crew". If you are looking into bareboat charters you probably like to take the helm yourself and have the full adventure and experience of a sailing holiday. The journey will be much more memorable than any typical holiday vacation because of the various roles it offers. There is no doubt that sailing together as a family or a group of friends will give you thousands of incredible memories to cherish for life. You will create a stronger bond by assigning roles and tasks to handle while sailing to the next exciting destination to explore.
- You can sail at your own pace One of the biggest advantages of hiring a bareboat yacht charter is that you can explore the Croatian coast and islands at your own will. It will give you the freedom of sailing slowly; discovering hidden beaches and bays and snorkelling at all the best spots for as long as you want. Of course, most of these things can also be agreed with a skipper but being able to act spontaneously is an additional bonus. It will be exciting for you to sail a yacht yourself since it really builds up your confidence and voyage experience.
- Croatia offers the largest selection of bareboat yachts If you have decided to rent a bareboat, Croatia is the place to go. With roughly 4.000 yachts to offer it is the world's main charter destination. With an international skippers license the list of yachts available to you is almost endless, from sailboats over catamarans to motor yachts all are just a click away. Just contact us and we will find the perfect bareboat yacht for you or browse through our vast selection and pick a yacht for yourself.

On top of that, the nautical infrastructure in Croatia is amazing and it offers an abundance of marinas , safe town ports and anchorages with buoys to spend your nights. The mild weather and pleasant wind on the Adriatic Sea will further make your navigation in Croatia a joy to remember.
