Volos, "the jewel of the Pagasetic Gulf ", is one of the most attractive cities in Greece, as well as one of the country’s most prominent ports. Located in the centre of mainland Greece's western coast, the wealth of the region and its long history have left their mark on the city’s architecture, which exudes confidence and grandeur .

Our fleet base is located at the Port of Volos which is in the heart of the city with plenty of accommodation, shopping and dining options within easy walking distance from the marina.

Located on the central mainland coast of Greece, Volos is 320 km north of Athens and 219 km south of Thessaloniki. Many visitors arrive with their own vehicles, but public transport options are also available from all main cities.

Sailing Itineraries from Volos

Volos offers some fantastic sailing for both one and two week charters and routes are usually similar to those from nearby Skiathos Island (where Istion also maintains a charter base ).

You will start your holiday enjoying the unspoiled bays and small ports of the Gulf of Volos . Further east, the beautiful green islands of the Sporades including Skiathos , Skopelos and Alonissos beckon to be visited. Sheltered and unspoiled anchorages along with sandy white beaches are a common feature of all these islands.

For those with a little more time, two week charters can include the southern most island of the Sporades, Skyros , as weel as stop along the coast of Evia .

The Sporades are well known for the Alonissos National Marine Park , the largest protected marine area in Europe. The Park includes 6 smaller islands (Peristera, Kyra Panagia, Psathoura, Piperi, Skatzoura and Yura), and is of particular scientific and cultural interest, and is ideal for free diving , wildlife observation , photography and other nature oriented activities.

The limited degree of human intervention and the excellent state of the natural environment make the landscape and marine areas of the Park an ideal refuge for many endangered species, such as the Mediterranean monk seal Monachus monachus and various species of dolphins and whales .

Sample 7-Day Sailing Itinerary from Volos

Day 1: volos to amaliapoli (mitzela).

Begin in Volos, a city steeped in ancient myths and history, where Jason and the Argonauts embarked on their quest for the Golden Fleece. Visit seaside cafés, bars, and traditional "Tsipouradiko/Ouzeri" restaurants offering local culinary experiences. Arrange for supermarket delivery service to your yacht and explore Ermou Street, the city's commercial center. In Amaliapoli, climb the hill and admire the island-like architecture. Enjoy fresh seafood at taverns, visit beach bars, and watch the sunset from Loutraki Bay. Discover small bays with clear-watered beaches and explore the Underwater Shipwreck Museum Diving Park and marine virtual reality center.

Day 2: Amaliapoli to Skopelos

Sail to Skopelos, the largest island in the Sporades, with natural springs, pine forests, and 360 chapels, churches, and monasteries . Stroll through Skopelos town's picturesque sidestreets, dine at tavernas, and try the local "Skopelitiki" fried cheese pie. Visit the stunning beaches and film locations from "Mamma Mia!", including Milia, Panormos, Elios and many, many more. Climb 110 steps to reach Agios Ioannis church and explore the Venetian castle for panoramic views of the town and Mount Palouki.

Day 3: Skopelos to Alonnissos

Relax on Alonnissos, a haven for nature lovers and home to endangered Mediterranean monk seals and rare wildlife species. Hike to the chapel of Agion Anargyron, one of the island's most stunning spots, and enjoy fresh fish, seafood, and nut-based desserts at local tavernas. Visit Alonnissos' most beautiful organized beaches and explore small beaches in the northern part of the coast, only accessible by boat . Engage in water sports and visit the Old Village, Patitiri Village, Roussoum Yalos, Steni Vala, and Votsi.

Day 4: Alonnissos to Kyra Panagia

Visit Kyra Panagia, an uninhabited island home to endangered monk seals and the scenic Megisti Lavra monastery . As part of the Alonnissos Marine Park, the largest marine park in the Mediterranean, there are 14 diving spots to enjoy the unique natural landscape.

Day 5: Kyra Panagia to Skiathos

Experience cosmopolitan Skiathos , famous for its stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife. Visit beaches such as Koukounaries, Banana Beach, Lalaria, Vromolimnos, Kanapitsa, Aghia Eleni, Xanemos, Achladies, and Megali Ammos. Explore the 13th-century Venetian fortress on Bourtzi islet, enjoy the view from the café-restaurant, and stroll through the Hora's charming alleys. Sample local cuisine at traditional taverns, including "Akrogiali" and "Mylos", and enjoy cocktails and live music at "Tesla" bar on Papadiamanti Square.

Day 6: Skiathos to Paleo Trikeri Island

Uncover Paleo Trikeri Island, a small, car-free island with only 20 permanent residents. Walk or ride a mule to explore the island, and visit the fortress-like Evangelistria Monastery atop its highest peak. Relax on charming beaches like Afetka, Hagia Sophia, and Prasini Ammos, and enjoy traditional Magnesian cuisine accompanied by a chilled wine or tsipouro.

Day 7: Pagasitikos Gulf to Volos

Conclude your 7-day sailing adventure by returning to Volos, taking with you unforgettable memories from your journey through the enchanting Greek islands .

Modern Volos is a relatively new and vibrant city. It is mainly built on the area of the ancient city of Iolcus. Iolcus was the homeland of the mythical ancient Greek hero, Jason.

This is also where he and the Argonauts began their voyage on their ship, the Argo, in search of the Golden Fleece.

The Pagasitikos Gulf is a round-shaped gulf in the region of Magnesia, with the city of Volos as its main port. The gulf is embraced by Mount Pelion, with an opening to the Aegean Sea. Pelion is an area of incredible beauty - a high mountain with abundant fauna and flora, combined with stunning beaches.

The Pagasitikos Gulf is ideal for relaxed sailing, as the sea is relatively calm, with gentle winds that are channelled down from Pelion. Sailing here will give you the opportunity to discover the captivating beauty of its many unspoilt bays, with their teal-coloured waters.

SPORADES ISLANDS

Skiathos is a popular tourist destination, with its own airport, all necessary tourist facilities, a vibrant nightlife and over 60, chiefly sandy, beaches.

Being on the mainland, Volos is easy to get to, and it's only a daysail away from delightful Skiathos, or even better Skopelos (where Mamma Mia was filmed). There's also plenty of scope to get off the beaten track in a marine nature reserve or to visit a crazy remote monastery. 6-day Sailing Itinerary from Volos

Volos is located on mainland Greece, but that doesn';t mean that it isn't still an excellent base for exploring remote Greek islands and finding some tranquillity. In the immediate vicinity, Skiathos is famed for being popular with a young crowd, and it certainly has an energetic night-life. The next island along, Skopelos, has been described by some as being the most beautiful of all the Greek islands, though, despite it having been inhabited for thousands of years, it is perhaps most famous for being the filming location of the recent first Mamma Mia film.

This itinerary is a six day itinerary which takes in the best of the Sporades: the beauty of the islands and the beaches, and the best three places to spend the night (namely Skiathos, Skopelos and Loutraki, all for different reasons). In total, it's 127 nM, which means an average of about 21 nM a day, and a fairly leisurely pace. It's only six days because after checking in and getting everything on board it's unlikely you'll have time to do any significant sailing from the home base on your day of arrival – so chill, check out Volos, and we'll depart in the morning. And the boat needs to be returned on the Friday night (so you won't do any sailing on the day of checking out either).  

The prevailing wind is a North-easterly, around Force 3 or 4 (except when the Meltemi winds kick in for a few days at a time at the height of the season – so check the weather forecasts carefully if you're sailing in July and August). Being in a huge bay (the Pagasetic gulf, to be precise), the winds might not be so strong as you broad reach your way down, but you'll certainly feel the wind in your face once we get island hopping.

If time allows, you can nose into one of the bays around the island of Paleo Trikeri, where there's a couple of nice beaches, but otherwise we're following the coastline round, keeping it on our port side as we go around the headland, and then pulling in at the first marina you come to.

This is Kiriaki, a small, sleepy fishing village which is now a place for tourists who like to be off the beaten track and who enjoy the calm of the sea and the idyllic islands. There's a fine beach to while away the rest of the sunshine, or the local village of Trikeri is a short walk up to the top of the hill, where they serve the freshest of fresh fish in abundance, with fine views over the sea. This is the life...  

From Kiriaki, we're heading further along the coast and out, in a North-easterly direction. The island on the horizon is Skiathos, which we'll skirt around the South side of. We'll be coming back to later in the week (so feel free to have a quick nosey at Skiathos town as you go past). There are over 75 brilliant beaches dotted right around Skiathos island, so it might be a fine place to stop for lunch or a break.

Continuing further in the same direction, we’re heading to the small marina at Loutraki, near Glossa, on the Western side of the island of Skopelos.

Loutraki is another remote village which people head to for the beauty and tranquillity of the area, and is most famous for being the filming location for the film 'Mamma Mia' – so watch it in advance to whet your appetite if you have the chance. There's a beautiful beach and a number of decent tavernas, or you can walk fifteen minutes to the nearby bigger, grander village of Glossa. Being on the West coast, Loutraki is a place where you can sit and enjoy watching the sunset, ideally with a well-earned drink.  

If it's hot and sunny, you could check out the beaches at Agios Ioannis or Glysteri for a cooling break, but then onwards to the white-washed houses, narrow streets, medieval castles, monasteries and churches of the capital of the island.

Skopelos town is genuinely a wonder to behold, and the view of it from the sea is almost magical. Legend has it that the town was originally founded by the son of the God Dionysos and Princess Ariadne of Crete, who used the island as a giant vineyard – but it's main purpose now is for tourism (and growing olives). The town is a brilliant place to explore on foot, and you can get lost in the maze of cobbled streets and alleyways. There's a great range of tavernas and bars (and even a night club), as well as a good range of shops to get your provisions stocked up from. Life moves at quite a slow and relaxed pace, and Skopelos is a great place to sit and people-watch.  

Neighbouring islands, it's a fairly straightforward sail to get from one to the other, and there are ferries that make the journey on a regular basis. They normally head over the North of the island of Skopelos, so we're heading around the South. Head East out of the marina and keep the coastline on your starboard side as you follow it South, then West, then North. You'll notice you're sailing in all the directions, so you'll need to keep adjusting your sail trim to keep pace.

There's a few beaches and bays to explore – some have tavernas to grab a bite to eat, but there’s also the chance that you'll spot seals and dolphins in others, if you keep a decent lookout. Once you';re past Panormos, you should be able to see Skiathos and can head in a North-westerly direction, reaching across the prevailing wind. Skiathos Town is on the starboard side of the island as you look at it, so head for that sort of area, then bimble your way into the marina, which is to the East of the old town.

Skiathos is a very pretty old town with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops, and if you're planning on having one big night with the whole crew, here is the place to do it.  

We're heading South-west down the channel to a small farming village of Orei, which has been inhabited since around 5,000 BC, but is mainly notable for having a couple of historic castles and a giant marble statue of a bull. There’s also a reasonable range of restaurants and bars on the waterfront, and if you’re still interested in beaches, there’s of course some of those within easy reach too, and a reef that is good for snorkelling and scuba diving.  

From Orei, it’s almost a straight line Northwards to Volos, sailing up towards Kiriaki (where you spent the first night), and onwards into the Pagasetic gulf, then up to Volos. You’ll likely be reaching against the prevailing wind, and it’s possible to do it in one tack, but it’s obviously more fun to put in a few tacks and to keep your crew on their toes, so maybe you can circumnavigate the island of Paleo Trikeri on the way?

Arriving back in Volos, you’ll need to visit the fuel berth (which you should be able to spot by the long queue of other charter yachts also waiting to be refuelled, or it’s on the south-west side of the fishing boat harbour, to the West of the marina). Once you're full, take the boat to about the area you got her from, moor her up one last time, and then salute the harbour-master as you shut down the engines. Someone will be along to inspect the boat tonight, but you'll be sleeping aboard tonight, and will complete the formal check-out tomorrow morning, before departing the boat, and letting her drift off into the sunset with another skipper and another crew.

If you’ve not yet seen much of Volos, then now is a good time to step ashore – it's a nice town in its own right, and there's enough to see, do, eat and drink to keep you busy And then you're off. Hopefully you’re returning with really fond memories of the Sporades, with better friendships with all of the crew, and a giant smile on your face. Sailing Conditions

In summer, the prevailing wind is a Force 3 or Force 4 which arrives from the North-east, and allows you to make decent speed and excellent progress from island to island (and to lay off the motor for the best parts of the day).

Things get more challenging later in the season, when the hot, seasonal Meltemi winds start to arrive – the are slightly stronger winds which arrive from the North or North-west from late June to August, and which can be anything from Force 5 to Force 8 (so make sure you check the weather forecast before setting sail on what looks like an innocent day!)

Generally, the Meltemi pass after a couple of days, and the prevailing North-easterly winds will return.

Marina Details - Volos Port

Volos port is shared amongst commercial vessels, local fishermen, and, of course, sail tourism. All this makes the marina a hive of activity, and, coupled with locals and tourists enjoying an evening stroll along the marina road, the whole area seems alive. The facilities for sailors are a little dated (though it has all the usual amenities) but there's a whole townful of shops, restaurants and amenities which are within very easy reach, and you can even buy fish fresh direct from the fishermen each morning!

If your flights don't quite match that schedule, you might need to spend a day or two on dry land before getting aboard. We recommend the following places to stay: Hotel Phillipos , Aegli Hotel or the 4-star Volos Palace .

Volos & the Sporades Islands

Location Volos is one of the largest and most attractive cities in Greece as well as one of the country’s most prominent ports. The modern-day city, built near the site of ancient Iolcos, dominates the region of Magnesia from its position at the foot of Mount Pelion overlooking the Pagasetic Gulf. This is one of the most beautiful areas in Thessaly, in the centre of Greece (Volos is situated 320km N of Athens and 219km S of Thessaloniki) combining the allure of the sea with the mystical charm of the Centaurs’ mountain. The area’s mythical background captivates the visitor’s imagination. Magnesia features in some of the most remarkable tales in Greek mythology. The progenitor of its peoples was Magnes, son of Enareti and Aeolus, yet Magnesia is believed to be the birthplace of a strange race, the Centaurs, beings which were part equine, part human and originated from the union of Nephele and Ixion. Asclepius and Achilles were, among others, pupils of the Centaur Chiron. The famous Argonaut expedition, one of the greatest epics in the Greek mythological cycle, set sail from the Pagasetic Gulf.

Wind and Sailing Conditions The prevailing wind in the summer is the "Meltemi", coming from the northeast at force 3-5, although occasionally in July and August wind blows stronger from the northwesterly directions at force 4-6 but dies at the end of September.

Travel Notes The sea creates a wonderful seafront with picturesque little restaurants, the famous tsipouradika, named after tsipouro, the traditional spirit of the area, which is perfect when combined with seafood teasers. Follow the paved Argonauts Avenue on the seafront and go all the way to the port on its western side, just as the locals love doing when in the mood for a romantic stroll with a stunning view to the open sea. Beyond doubt, this is the most impressive corner of the city, embellished not only by fishing boats and yachts, but also by an exact imitation of ancient ship Argo, constructed by faithfully following reports and ancient texts. The modern Argo, a brilliant feat of shipbuilding, will fill history lovers with excitement.

As a small organisation we have the time, enthusiasm and knowledge to provide everything you could want from a sailing holiday. Our boats were refitted in 202 2  to a high standard and are ideal for groups and families.

Die moderne Hafenstadt Volos in der Region Thessalien ist mit 86.000 Einwohnern eine der größten Städte in Griechenland. Sie blickt auf eine lange Geschichte zurück und gilt als das Juwel des Pagasitischen Golfs. Bei einem Spaziergang durch Volos findet man zahlreiche Villen, Museen und prächtige Kirchen, die den Reichtum der Stadt verdeutlichen. An der malerischen Strandpromenade gibt es viele ansprechende Restaurants mit Blick auf das offene Meer. Zweifellos ist die Westseite des Hafens, die man über die Argonautenalle an der Strandpromenade erreicht, einer der schönsten Orte von Volos. Dort findet man neben Fischerbooten und Yachten eine exakte Nachahmung des Schiffes Argo, das durch eine antike griechische Sage berühmt wurde.

Der Golf von Volos und die Nördlichen Sporaden sind ein geschütztes, anfänger- und familienfreundliches Segelrevier. Zahlreiche unberührte Buchten, warmes, kristallklares Wasser, grüne hügelige Landschaften, kleine Inseln, imposante Felsen und fast in jeder Bucht eine gemütliche Taverne – das zeichnet die Segelregion Volos aus.

Zu den nördlichen Sporaden zählen die vier großen bewohnten Inseln Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonnisos und Skyros sowie mehrere kleine unbewohnte Inseln mit herrlichen Buchten und Stränden. Diese Inseln lassen sich ideal mit einem Yachtcharter ab Volos erkunden.

Die Inselgruppe der Sporaden, was übersetzt „die Zerstreuten“ bedeutet, ist bekannt für ihr angenehmes Klima. Angenehm warme Temperaturen und ideale Windbedingungen machen neben den Sommermonaten auch den Herbst und das Frühjahr zu beliebten Segelzeiten.

Es gibt eine Menge gut geschützter Ankerbuchten, in denen man meist mit Landleine liegt. Auf den größeren Inseln gibt es oft an den Stränden und in den Buchten eine einfache Infrastruktur mit Kaffeebar und Taverne. Durch die Segeltörns ab Volos gibt es auf den unbewohnten kleinen Inseln nur im Sommer Individualtourismus.

Beliebte Segelziele ab Volos sind die westlich gegenüberliegenden Orte Amaliapolis und die Kleinstadt Milina, ca. 20 Seemeilen südöstlich von Volos. Hier finden Segler mehrere idyllische Buchten zwischen den zwei kleinen vorgelagerten Inseln. Ebenfalls sind die malerische Insel Paleo Trikeri, der Küstenort AG Kyriaki und der kleine Hafenort Achilleion am Ausgang des Golfes von Volos empfehlenswert. Besonders beliebt in den Sporaden sind die traumhaften feinsandigen Strände von Skiathos, sowie die imposanten Felsformationen von Skopelos.

Im Hafen von Volos befindet sich die Handelsschifffahrt, die Marina und der Fischereihafen. Die Marina Volos verfügt über 133 Plätze für Yachten bis zu 60 m auf 1,2 bis 2,5 m Wassertiefe. Da es im Anfahrtsbereich keine Riffe oder Untiefen gibt, kann die Marina bei Tag und Nacht problemlos angesteuert werden. Als Navigationshilfe dient tagsüber der graubraune Kirchturm mit Bogenfenstern. Die Marinaeinfahrt ist nachts beidseitig befeuert. Segler müssen sich an die Höchstgeschwindigkeit von drei Knoten im Hafen halten.

Die Marina Volos verfügt über alle üblichen Einrichtungen einer modernen Marina. Dazu zählen:

Anreise nach Volos in Griechenland

Der Flughafen Volos (Nea Anchialos) liegt nur 50 km von der Marina Volos entfernt und ist in ca. 40 min zu erreichen. Der nächste Flughafen ist Thessaloniki, die Fahrzeit beträgt ca. 2,5 Stunden. Wünschen Sie einen Shuttle, der Sie direkt zur Marina bringt, geben Sie uns bitte eine Woche vor Charter Bescheid.

Kostenpflichtige Parkplätze sind im Parkhafen von Volos vorhanden. Sie werden rund um die Uhr bewacht. Die Kosten belaufen sich auf 18,00 € für den ersten Tag und 12,00 € für jeden weiteren Tag.

Hinweis für den Segeltörn ab Volos

Wir möchten Sie darauf hinweisen, dass es auf Grund der Gesetzeslage in Griechenland nicht möglich ist, Charterverträge schon vorab beim Hafenamt bestätigen zu lassen. Das griechische Gesetz verlangt die Originalunterschrift des Kunden auf den Verträgen und der Crewliste vor Ort. Erst danach können wir Ihre Schiffspapiere beim Hafenkapitän vorlegen. Bitte haben Sie daher Verständnis, dass es durch mögliche Wartezeiten bei der Hafenpolizei zu Verzögerungen für Sie kommen kann. Achtung: Das kroatische Küstenpatent ist in Griechenland ab 2023 nicht mehr gültig.

Einsteiger- und Familientörns im Saronischen Golf und Ionischen Meer

Ob Einsteiger im Segelsport oder erfahrener Profi, für beide bieten Griechenlands Segelreviere die Möglichkeit für einen interessanten Törn. Für Einsteiger und Familien  empfehlen wir zum Beispiel das Ionische Meer vor der Westküste Griechenlands und die Segelgebiete rund um die Halbinsel Peloponnes im Saronischen und Argolischen Golf. Beide sind aufgrund der einfacheren Windverhältnisse für weniger erfahrene Segler geeignet, der Saronische und Argolische Golf vor allem in der Nebensaison. Am Peloponnes reihen sich zahlreiche kleine Fischerdörfer und malerische Buchten aneinander und auch kulturbegeisterte Segler finden auf Inseln wie Ägina und Hydra viele interessante Highlights. Startpunkte sind Athen oder Lavrion , nahe dem Athener Flughafen.  Im Ionischen Meer liegen mit Korfu , Lefkada und Zakynthos ebenfalls traumhafte Inseln. Neben weißen Sandstränden und vielen Buchten, die einen schönen Badeurlaub versprechen, sind die Inseln hier auch sehr grün, sodass sich auch Ausflüge in die Natur empfehlen.

Ruhe und Entspannung in den Nördlichen Sporaden

Wer es lieber ruhiger mag und ein Segelrevier abseits vom Massentourismus sucht, der findet dies in den  Nördlichen Sporaden . Mit zahlreichen einsamen Buchten und langen Stränden gibt es auch hier Gelegenheiten für einen entspannten Badeurlaub. Inseln wie Skiathos und Skopelos sind grüner als die Kykladen. Mit ebenfalls milderen Temperaturen sind sie sehr gut für Outdooraktivitäten geeignet. Taucher finden vor den östlichen Inseln einen Meerespark mit einer lebendigen Unterwasserwelt und Schiffswracks. Sie können im geschützten Pagasitischen Golf von  Volos  aus starten oder von der Insel  Skiathos . Im Frühjahr und Herbst eignet sich das Revier auch für weniger erfahrene Segler. Trotz der geringeren touristschen Frequentierung kann es im Sommer in den Häfen voll werden, da diese geringere Kapazitäten haben als in der restlichen Ägäis.

Sportliches Segeln zwischen den Kykladen

Erfahrene Segler zieht es in die Kykladen , die im Altertum auch „Perlen von Hellas“ genannt wurden. Wer vom Festland starten möchte, findet in Lavrion einen nahen Stützpunkt mit einer großen Auswahl an Yachten. Aber Sie können auch direkt von Inseln wie Paros oder Syros lossegeln. Wind- und Kitesurfer finden auf Paros gute Bedingungen und an den diversen schönen Stränden der Insel lässt es sich auch sonnen und baden. Mykonos , die als Insel der Winde bezeichnet wird, bietet dementsprechend ein anspruchsvolles Segelrevier für sportliche Crews. Von hier aus ist es auch nicht weit nach Delos, dem spirituellen Zentrum des antiken Griechenland. Wer länger Zeit hat, kann auch die Insel Kreta in seinen Törn einschließen. Wer entspannter segeln möchte, kann dies nicht weit im Saronischen Golf vor Athen machen. Hier sind die Bedingungen ruhiger und auch hier liegen viele Inseln wie Ägina und Salamina oder Hydra.

Inselhopping im Dodekanes und den Südlichen Sporaden

Für Sonnenanbeter und Badenixen sind die Südlichen Sporaden  mit der Inselgruppe des Dodekanes das richtige Törnziel. Kurze Distanzen zwischen den Inseln, viele Strände, kleine Fischerdörfer und eine Vielzahl an Sehenswürdigkeiten versprechen Abwechslung und Entspannung. Startpunkte sind zum Beispiel  Rhodos  und  Kos . Von Kos erreichen Sie die nördlichen Inseln der Gruppe, von Rhodos aus bewegen Sie sich im südlichen Teil und können auch die türkische Küste mit Marmaris und Fethiye einbeziehen. Hier müssen Sie an das Ein- und Ausklarieren denken.

Die beste Reisezeit für einen Griechenland-Törn

Die beste Reisezeit ist von Mai bis Oktober. Gerade wenn es in Deutschland noch oder schon wieder recht kühl ist, können Sie hier angenehm warme Temperaturen genießen. Außerhalb dieser Zeit können Sie zwar auch segeln, die Wetterbedingungen sind dann aber nicht optimal und die touristischen Angebote nur eingeschränkt verfügbar. Vor allem der Meltemi bestimmt hier das Segeln. Auch wenn die Übersetzungen und Ursprünge des Wortes von "sanftem" und "leichtem" Wind sprechen, kann in den Sommermonaten besonders in den Kykladen um die 8 Beaufort erreichen. Daher sollten vor allem weniger erfahrene Segler ihr Revier sorgfältig wählen (siehe oben) und mit dem Saronischen Golf in der Nebensaison oder dem Ionischen Meer beginnen.

Yachtcharter Griechenland kann auch zum zehnten Mal in eine völlig neue Region gehen. Kein Mittelmeerrevier bietet soviel verschiedene Segelreviere wie Griechenland. Die Kykladen, die Sporaden, die Dodekanen, den Saronischen Golf, das Ionische Meer usw. Überall ist Yachtcharter Griechenland von Segelyachten, Katamaranen und Motoryachten als Bareboat Charter oder Charter mit Crew möglich.

Die ganze Welt segelt in Griechenland. Engländer, Russen, Skandinavier, Deutsche usw.. Bis zum Ende des kroatischen Bürgerkrieges war Griechenland das meist gebuchte Charterrevier. Mittlerweile gehen mehr Buchungen nach Kroatien. Griechenland hat es versäumt die maritime Infrastruktur an den modernen Standard anzupassen. Nach wie vor gibt es nur sehr wenige neue Marinas und man liegt hauptsächlich in Kommunalhäfen der vielen griechischen Inseln.

Das hat aber durchaus Vorteile. Der Charme der kleinen Städte und Dörfer bleibt erhalten und die Liegegebühren sind unglaublich niedrig. Griechenland ist das Revier mit den geringsten Urlaubsnebenkosten. Seemannschaft sollte man hier jedoch beherrschen. Es gibt sehr starke Winde und beim Anlegen hilft in der Regel kein Marinero. Unreiner Grund auch in den Häfen oder direkt an der Pier kommt vor. Vorsicht und Umsicht wird hier groß geschrieben.

Anreise über den Flughafen Kos oder Rhodos. Transfer zu den jeweiligen Stützpunkten kann gegen Gebühr organisiert werden.

Die Anreise nach Athen erfolgt über den Flughafen Athen. Ebenso ist eine Anreise nach Lefkas oder Preveza, über den Flughafen Preveza oder nach Korfu über den doritgen Flughafen möglich. Transfers zu den jeweiligen Stützpunkten kann gegen Gebühr gebucht werden.

Ionisches Meer:

Anreise über den Flughafen Preveza auf dem Festland odr den Flughafen Korfu. Transfer zur jeweiligen Abfahrtsbasis kann gegen Gebühr durch den Stützpunkt organisiert werden.

Kykladen / Saronischer Golf:

Anreise erfolgt über den Flughafen in Athen. Transfer zur Abfahrtsbasis kann gegen Gebühr organisiert werden. Es existieren aber auch hervorragende Busverbindungen vom Flughafen in die Stadt.

Am einfachsten gestaltet sich die Anreise nach Volos. In den vergangenen Jahren hat Condor, zumindest ab Süddeutschland, seine Direktflugverbindung nach Volos ausgebaut. Ryan Air fliegt ab vielen deutschen Flughäfen nach Thessaloniki.

Etwas schwierig ist die Anreise nach Skiathos. Wie auch zu den Inseln der Kykladen gibt es keine direkten Verbindungen. Es kommt noch ein Transfer und eine Fährpassage dazu. Bevor man also eine Schiffssuche startet, sollte man die An/Abreise klären und danach entscheiden ob man wirklich nach Skiathos will.

Für eine Yachtcharter Griechenland gilt grundsätzlich: vorgeschrieben sind 2 Segelscheininhaber, bzw. ein 2. Crewmitglied welches ebenso wie der Skipper über die Fähigkeit zum Führen eines Schiffes verfügt. Dies kann im Zweifel auch über einen Meilennachweis erfolgen.

Auch im türkischem Hoheitsgebiet muss als erstes die Einwanderungsbehörde aufgesucht werden. Grenzübergangsstellen sind in Cesme, Kusadasi, Bodrum, Datca, Marmaris, Fethiye, Antalya und Alanya.

Die Einreise ist unter folgenden Voraussetzungen zulässig:

• Wenn man einen der genannten Einreisehäfen anläuft und spätestens nach 24 Stunden nach Griechenland zurückkehrt, wird keine Steuer fällig. Die üblichen Ein- und Ausreise Formalitäten müssen jedoch durchgeführt werden.
• Wenn man einen der genannten Einreisehäfen anläuft und den Zuständigkeitsbereich dieses Hafens vor der Ausreise nach Griechenland nicht verläßt, müssen USD 50 Steuern bezahlt werden. Der Aufenthalt kann bis zu drei Monate betragen.

Wenn man z.B. von Rhodos nach Marmaris segelt, bezahlt man USD 50 und kann rund um den Golf von Marmaris, den Golf von Doris und die Ekinjik Bay segeln, sofern man die Türkei wieder über Marmaris, verläßt und keinen anderen Einreisehafen der Türkei anläuft. Es drohen schwerwiegende Strafen wenn man sich nicht an diese Regeln hält. Unkenntnis über die Abwicklung der Ein- und Ausreisegenehmigung ist keine Entschuldigung.

Wenn Sie in die Türkei einreisen und längere Zeit dort segeln wollen ohne Ihre Reiseroute auf einen Bereich zu beschränken und ohne die Türkei im gleichen Hafen wieder zu verlassen, ist ein Transitlog von USD 50 pro Person zuzüglich der o. g. Einreisesteuer zu zahlen. Falls ein Visum für die jeweilige Nationalität erforderlich ist, kommen noch Visa Gebühren hinzu. Handelt es sich dagegen um ein gewerblich genutztes Boot, darf auf keinen Fall ein anderer Hafen als der Einklarierungshafen zum Verlassen der Türkei gewählt werden.

Diese Vorschriften unterliegen ständigen Änderungen und müssen vor Ort überprüft werden. Über unsere Stützpunkte vor Ort sind wir Ihnen dabei gern behilflich.

Vorgehensweise zur Beantragung/Ausstellung des Transitlog.

Nach Einreise in einen türkischen Einklarierungshafen, sollte der Skipper der Yacht sofort zu den Pass-, Polizei-, Zoll- und Ausländerbehörden gehen und dort die Crew-Liste, Pässe und Schiffspapiere vorlegen. Einzelheiten daraus, die bezahlten Steuern, eine Zollanmeldung und eine Gesundheitsüberprüfung werden im Transitlog vermerkt. Danach sind keine weiteren Formalitäten bis zum Verlassen türkischer Gewässer erforderlich.

Nach der Erhalt des Transitlog können Sie überall ohne Formalitäten festmachen oder an Land gehen soweit diese Häfen oder Buchten im genehmigten Bereich Ihres Transitlog liegen. Das Transitlog wird ungültig sobald Sie die Türkei verlassen, es sei denn es handelt sich um ein kommerziell genutztes Schiff z.B. eine Charteryacht (siehe Hinweis auf Kastellorizon und Symi).

Nach Einreise in die türkischen Gewässer dürfen keine zusätzlichen Crew-Mitglieder an Bord genommen werden.

Wenn Sie keine Zeit für Ein-und Ausreise-Clearance in der Türkei verlieren wollen, können wir Ihnen auch einen Agenten in Marmaris, Göcek, Bodrum oder Kusadasi als Ansprechpartner nennen, der alle Formalitäten für Sie erledigt. Die Gebühr beträgt ca. Euro 125 pro Yacht und pro Einreise oder Ausreise.

Vor dem Verlassen türkischer Gewässer muss Abschnitt 5 des Transitlog von Polizei, Passbehörde, Health-Clearance Hafenmeister und Zollbehörde abgestempelt werden. Das Transitlog verliert seine Gültigkeit nach Beendigung der vereinbarten Route und Erledigung der Ausreisepapiere oder nach Ausreise aus türkischen Gewässern.

Yachtcharter Skiathos und Volos

Volos An der Nordseite des schönen Volos Golfes liegt die Stadt Volos. Zur östlichen Seeseite durch das schöne Pilio Gebirge geschützt bietet der Volos Golf meist mäßige thermische Winde. Der Meltemi lässt sich hier eher nicht blicken. Für die Distanz von Volos bis Skiathos sollen Sie mit zwei Tagesetappen kalkulieren. Durch den internationalen Flughafen von Volos ist dieser Stützpunkt eine gute Alternative zu Skiathos. Die Eurowings z.B. fliegt direkt ab Deutschland nach Volos. Skiathos Der Haupthafen, oder die Hauptinsel der Sporaden ist Skiathos. Er bietet bei Meltemi guten Schutz und es gibt nahezu alle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für Crew und Schiff. Skiathos Stadt besitzt einen Flughafen und Fährhafen und ist der ideale Ausgangshafen oder Endhafen für einen Chartertörn in den Inseln der Sporaden. Skiathos ist ein touristisches Zentrum mit vielen Cafes, Bars, Souvenirshops und Restaurants entlang der Wasserfront. Ausflugsschiffe sind ständig in Bewegung. Charter von Segelyachten ab Skiathos und Volos, d ie Sporaden und Nördliche Ägäis In dieser kleinen Inselgruppe bieten die Sporaden kurze Schläge zwischen den Inseln. Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos, Peristeri und Skiros bilden diese reizvolle Inselgruppe. Auch wenn Sie in zwei Wochen nicht weit segeln, haben Sie doch mit Sicherheit Ihre Freude an dieser eigenständigen Inselgruppe. Vorherrschend ist auch hier der Wind aus nördlicher, nordöstlicher Richtung, der Meltemi, aber weniger stark als weiter südlich. Alternativ und abhängig von der Segeldauer, wäre auch ein Törn Richtung Norden zur Chalkidiki Halbinsel, mit Ihren gelben Sandstränden, pinienbewachsenen Hügeln und den Klöstern auf Athos, möglich. Segeln in den Sporaden!

Auszug aus Wikipedia: Sporaden ( griechisch   Sporádes Σποράδες ( f. pl. ) ‚die Verstreuten‘, von spóros σπόρος ‚Samen, Korn‘) ist der Name einiger Inselgruppen . Seit der Antike wurden die ‚verstreuten‘ Inseln, die nicht zum ‚Kreis‘ der Inseln um Delos (den Kykladen , von gr. kyklos κύκλος ‚Kreis‘) in der Ägäis gehörten, als Sporaden bezeichnet. 

Die Nördlichen Sporaden , auch Magnesische Inseln genannt, umfassen rund 135 Inseln und Felseneilande östlich des griechischen Festlandes im Ägäischen Meer . Die Hauptinseln der Nördlichen Sporaden sind Skyros (Σκύρος), Skopelos (Σκόπελος), Skiathos (Σκιάθος) und Alonnisos (Αλόννησος). Die Südlichen Sporaden umfassen über 170 Inseln, davon 30 bewohnte, vor der westanatolischen Küste. Ein großer Teil dieser Inseln bildet die griechische Präfektur und Inselgruppe Dodekanes , die auch historisch eine Einheit war. Die nördlichsten Inseln der südlichen Sporaden – Samos, Ikaria und Fourni – gehören dagegen zur Präfektur Samos . Einige kleinere Eilande gehören hoheitlich zur Türkei , andere sind zwischen Griechenland und der Türkei umstritten (z.B. Imia ). Die größten Inseln der Südlichen Sporaden sind Samos (Σάμoς), Ikaria (Ικαρία), Kos (Κως), Rhodos (Ρόδος) und Karpathos (Κάρπαθος). Skiathos ist etwa 4 km östlich des Piliongebirgszuges und 15 km nordöstlich von Euböa gelegen. Die Insel Skopelos liegt etwa 8 km östlich. Bei einer Länge von etwa 11 km und einer Breite von etwa 5 km beträgt die Fläche 47,33 km² [3] . Damit ist Skiathos die viertgrößte und zugleich kleinste bewohnte Insel der Nördlichen Sporaden. Sie wird gebildet durch einen bis 433 m [4] ansteigenden, zum Teil bewaldeten Bergzug. Typische Produkte von Skiathos sind Oliven und Wein .

Pass/Führerscheine: Personalausweis oder Reisepass. Von der Crew müssen mindestens 2 Personen einen Segelführerschein besitzen. Der Skipper mindestens den Sportbootführerschein See, SKS oder den BR-Schein. Ein zweites Crewmitglied mindestens A-Schein oder ähnlichen Befähigungsnachweis.
