My family and I came here for a party and wow, it was a nice yacht club. As we walked in, it was very spacious, and we loved the wood interior. I was surprised to see that there was a bowling alley there , that was pretty cool. I would have never expected that at all. Overall, I enjoyed spending time with my family and watching the views of across the way at the airport . It's too bad that there was nasty weather outside so that I could have seen the city of Boston. I am sure it looks beautiful in the summertime.

Logan Airport was across the way and loved seeing the planes come in and out.

I absolutely love how they converted this and made it a light.

Love this Yacht Club. It's so fun and inviting. Our Squantum Yacht Club youth sailors race every year with them in their wonderful Make A Wish Regatta. For any youth sailors looking for another great regatta, Squantum Yacht Club's Lipton Cup is not to be missed www.squantumyc.org/lipton-cup-regatta

Very awesome. I have been a member at this yacht club for a while, and I have nothing to say but positive things about it. The food is excellent. It is always so fresh and I cannot get enough of it. You also get perks when you are a member and those are redeemable for food and or drinks at the Pilot House. The youth sailing program is excellent, and you can go for the summer. You also can store a kayak in the docks, which is another perks. There are plenty of slips for your boats and always room. The staff are very nice and so are the bartenders. They are always willing to help with all your needs. The place is always very tidy and clean and there is never a mess in sight. The bathrooms are also sparkly clean. The hall is absolutely stunning and is a gorgeous spot for a function or gathering. There is also a bowling alley. You can rent it or rent a lane for a party or have it part of your function. The Lobster Dinner is always nice, and is a very nice night. 100% recommend for you to become a member if you live in Winthrop or even East Boston and Revere.

About Winthrop Yacht Club

The Winthrop Yacht Club, located in Winthrop, MA, is one of the oldest and largest continually operating yacht clubs on Boston Harbor and is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable boating and social experience for our 1,000 + members, their families and our invited guests.

The Winthrop Yacht Club has a Marina for 168 boats ranging in size from tenders to 58'!  Regular and life members have access to the Marina, and some choose to keep their boat on a mooring adjacent to the club.  

The Anchor Lounge offers a full grill menu and is available to all members and their accompanied guests.  Please click on the "Learn More" link below for visitor information.

The summer season concludes with a Family Day which features races crewed by a parent/child team.

Scholarship recipients are selected by the Winthrop High School Scholarship Committee

Facella Scholarship

PAUL F. AND NORMA M. FACELLA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Description:

Those who knew Paul and Norma Facella understood they were people who lived simply but purposefully. After serving in the Navy during WWII, Paul worked hard as a building contractor while Norma helped others in their neighborhood. They were good neighbors and caring people. Though neither attended college, Norma and Paul saved their money to learn from the world through various trips abroad. For 60 years they shared a devoted life together and a deep concern for the young people in Winthrop. When Paul died in February 2014---nearly two years after Norma had passed away---their careful financial planning and modest lifestyle had produced a sizable estate. Because they never had children of their own, their legacy now will build a future for students graduating from Winthrop High School. Though Winthrop High is a relatively small high school with graduating classes between 100 and 130, many of the students need financial assistance to attend the universities of their choice or to graduate from college without debt. Through a scholarship fund in their name, the Facella's pride in Winthrop will open doors for young people who might otherwise have been limited by resources.

The Facella Scholarship essay is scheduled for Thursday, April 2 8 th at 6am at WHS

All applicants must complete the essay (in-person) on the above date in order to be considered for this award

CSS Profile:

All applicants must create (if you have not already) a CSS Profile Account on the College Board website (https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org) and select The Winthrop Town Scholarship Committee (CSS Code # 9996 ) to receive your information. If you do not complete this step, your application will not be processed.
