Everything in the luxurious yet soothingly zen interior by Mark Berryman has been carefully designed to create a warm and welcoming environment. Guests will be wowed by the gorgeous bridge deck lounge, featuring rich leather flooring perfectly combined with mild brown wood panels and cabinetry. Large U-shaped sofas, a cinema screen and a dining table are an invitation to relax and socialise with family and friends.

NAIA has a dedicated owner's penthouse deck hosting the master suite with panoramic views, office, private exterior terraces forward and aft, and a stunning bathroom featuring elements of bamboo and light stone. A further six double guests cabins, four of which convert to twins, plus a single cabin with additional pullman berth are all on the main deck benefiting from plenty of natural light and outstanding views. An elevator serves all decks.

Spend the day gazing at the pristine surroundings from the helipad convertible into an extensive sun lounging area with stylish loose furniture. It is also fully certified to land a helicopter on charter. If you wish to get some exercise, the adjacent gym has all the latest equipment and a large central jacuzzi.

NAIA comes with an exhilarating fleet of tenders and all the watertoys to keep everyone active. Exploration and diving are a highlight on board thanks to an extensive inventory of equipment and dedicated diving room. NAIA (ex Pegaso) is a 73.60m (241.47ft) private research expedition yacht, built by the Spanish P. Freire de Vigo Galicia Spain shipyard. The 2011-launched superyacht features naval architecture by BMT Nigel Gee and Associates, exterior design by H2 Yacht Design and interior design by Mark Berryman. NAIA has also received a refit in 2014.

Her beautiful interior features oak and walnut, as well as soft furnishing, which creates calm and relaxing atmosphere. Some of the outstanding features onboard include a spa pool for eight, a 54- square-meter gymnasium and an entertainment lounge. Also, charter guests will appreciate the stunning observation lounge from which they can enjoy picturesque views of the best yachting locations in the world.

Various lounging and dining possibilities can be found on board this spectacular vessel, including a large al fresco dining area on the aft deck with a buffet and casual seating, with an additional bar. The helideck is another great feature, with fore and aft sun decks. The aft can be converted into the yacht’s helicopter pad, from a fabulous large area with comfortable seating and sun loungers.

The large salon transforms into a cinema with a 120-inch screen, making it possible to watch favorite movies programs on the state-of-the-art entertainment system.

Accommodation on board of the superyacht NAIA is offered in six suites to up to 12 guests. In addition, she can carry a crew of 27, together with oceanographic and marine biologist scientists.

This impressive yacht features aspects resembling a glamorous luxury super yacht, more than a rugged expedition vessel, nonetheless, her unique design perfectly incorporates both aspects. She is one of the World's largest private luxury research expedition yachts featuring some impressive amenities and 'toys' such as a 9m submarine, with a capacity for five people to dive up to 165 m deep. The oceanographic research submarine was built custom at an Italian Shipyard in Trieste and is housed in a 150 m square hangar on the yacht. The sub is powered by electric propulsion and can reach a surface speed of 8 knots and can submerge at a speed of 6 knots.

NAIA also has a huge 10,000 nautical mile range, which would allow her to cruise from Spain the Australia and back without re fuelling.

Marine research motor yacht NAIA features a steel hull with an aluminum superstructure and was built to comply to MCA and Lloyds Register standards. She can reach a maximum speed of 18 knots with a cruising speed of 14knots. The huge 73 m vessel has a beam of 13.20m (43.31ft) and a 3.8m (12.47ft) draft providing her with a huge volume.

A World Class vessel with which to travel the oceans, she is as comfortable exploring the Amazon Delta as the Cote d'Azur, with a tank capacity of 10,000 miles at a reasonable 12 knots cruising speed, which would allow it to travel to places away from civilization for days on end. ICE class, Dynamic positioning, helipad, 5-person submarine and four tenders all add to the truly "go anywhere" capabilities.

The master stateroom with adjacent areas for the owner is located on an entire private deck, featuring fore and aft terraces, studies and unprecedented 360° views. The main deck houses five guest staterooms, including the VIP suite with an Emperor bed and four double or twin King size convertible suites. A central spiralling staircase connects all deck areas, while an elevator also connects to the master deck from the sun deck below. There is yet another double guest suite with a King size bed, which was converted from the old Laboratory. This suite also has a single cabin with a Pullman berth.

Superyacht charter boat NAIA offers an impressive 880 meter of accommodation, divided into four decks. Apart from the Master quarters, which span an entire penthouse private deck with fore and aft terraces, offices and 360 panoramic views, five of the guest staterooms (one VIP Suite with an Emperor bed, four double/twin King size convertible suites) are on the main deck, fore of the deck's central lobby. This lobby is situated around the central spiralling staircase which connects all decks. The Master deck can also be reached by use of an elevator, leading from the sun deck below. The former Laboratory has been converted into a new double guets suite with a King size bed and one single suite with a Pullman. The aft section of the bridge deck houses a large interior lounge and dining, with additional casual seating and bar areas. Mark Berrymans interior design feels both extravagantly luxurious and soothingly calm. The main sitting area, a large U-shaped setup of light modern sofas around a set of large contemporary minimal table pieces, is inviting and intimate. The flooring is an absolute eye-catcher, consisting of wide strips of chocolate-cultured leather braided together to form intricately patterned yet modern carpeting. The color palette is based on soothing dark browns of leather and light beige-brown tints of the woods and natural stone used for floors, wall paneling, ceilings and cabinets. The whole room is bound together into an atmosphere of contemporary hospitality. The saloon's main dining table, comfortably seating 8, is a friendly setting of a round central table with plush, modern dining chairs dividing this space from the lounging area by a set of low cabinets, creating a separate room yet leaving the luxurious sense of space intact. The dining setting being situated starboard, leaves the port side for a second, smaller sitting area with a small bar.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.

The rainforest-covered coasts and ivory-sand beaches hide kaleidoscopic coral reefs which a wide diversity of fish and crustaceans call home, and NAIA has full dive equipment on board for her guests to explore these biospheres to the fullest. 

Beyond the reefs, the flourishing waters of the Pacific offer up manta rays, whales and dolphins, as well as plenty of big gamefish for the avid angler to take advantage of.

From Scarlet Macaws and capuchins to tapirs, ocelots and three-toed sloths.

In between dips in the sea, guests can discover secluded beaches, trek through humid jungles and spot some of the region’s on-land wildlife. From Scarlet Macaws perched in almond trees to capuchins inhabiting the cloud forests. You can even find tapirs, ocelots and three-toed sloths if you’re lucky.

After action-packed days, NAIA offers a secluded sanctuary at sea. Her interiors are by renowned designer Mark Berryman, the styling is neutral, warm and sophisticated throughout. Comfortable without being homey, bamboo and stone materials bring a breezy, exotic theme on board.

She has a large, shaded swimming pool with TV screen and gym equipment as well as a main salon that can be converted into a cinema suite for movie nights at sea.

Accommodation is offered for 12 guests in eight cabins, and this includes an Owner’s deck with incredible vistas, private exterior decks, and dedicated office space. The principal charterer will be truly spoilt here, with an en suite that features a tub below a glass light.

The motor yacht offers everything you could want from a superyacht vacation; she has a large, shaded swimming pool with TV screen and gym equipment surrounding, a helipad that can be used as a sundeck and a main salon that can be converted into a cinema suite for movie nights at sea.

Launched in 2011 by Spanish shipyard Freire and last refitted in 2014, NAIA was designed as a long-range state-of-the-art research vessel with an on-board laboratory and a fully-certified helipad. She has an impressive range of  8,500 miles at 12 knots, making her ideally suited for chartering in some of the most remote regions on earth.

An Owner’s deck offers incredible vistas, private exterior decks, and dedicated office space.

Most charterers are permitted to enter Costa Rica (at the time of publishing) as long as they follow certain health measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These include obtaining a Health Pass and purchasing Health Insurance. There does not seem to be any difference between entry requirements according to the destination that the charterer is arriving from.
