We are thrilled to announce the sale of ELANDESS, a 2018 Abeking & Rasmussen 244' (74.5-meter) steel-hull superyacht, by Seattle Yachts Fort Lauderdale broker Glenn Runyan . Elandess is one of that rare breed of full custom yachts that sprang from a blank sheet of paper. The profile and GA, both by Harrison Eidsgaard, were well developed before the yacht went to tender. Just how custom Elandess is would be revealed deck by deck. Eidsgaard begins the tour at the swim platform, leading us inside past the tender bay to a bright corridor illuminated from rooms beyond. The light filtering from starboard is a beckoning blue. I follow it to the Neptune lounge, which is modelled on the Nemo Room of 83.5 metre Feadship Savannah. It is part grotto, part submarine, part amphitheatre and all completely brilliant. Its soaring three-metre-high ceiling is amplified by a wall of near full-height glass, one third of it below the waterline. Blue painted floors match the colour of the ceiling and seating, upholstered in an Extex outdoor fabric with a surprising chenille finish. The room is a showstopper; I imagine hours could be whiled away here.

The windows in the lounge measure nearly 10 feet tall and are 4 inches (10 centimetres) thick; like other aspects of the boat, the idea was inspired by the previous Elandess’ lounge.

Abeking & Rasmussen motor yacht Elandess sold

The 60 metre motor yacht Elandess , listed for sale by Burgess , has been sold with Glynn Smith at DenisonYacht Sales introducing the buyer.

Designed by Donald Starkey , she was built in steel and aluminium by German yard Abeking & Rasmussen to Lloyds class and delivered in 2009, going on to be nominated in several categories at the 2010 ShowBoats Design Awards and World Superyacht Awards.

A serene interior by Bannenberg & Rowell accommodates up to 12 guests in six cabins including a main deck master suite featuring an Art Deco theme, floor to ceiling windows and a private deck. Below lie two twin and two double cabins that can be converted into two full beam suites, while there is a multi-functional cabin on the bridge deck with two Pullman berths that could serve as a children’s area or be used as a study.

The main deck saloon of this offers a comfortable seating area decorated in a pale cream colour palette with bold splashes of colour and a full cocktail bar. Forward is a formal dining area with a large glass topped table and seating for 12 guests.

The sky lounge is generously proportioned and offers informal relaxation before a sophisticated audio/visual system and there is another full sized bar.

Al fresco entertaining and dining is available aft on both the main and upper decks while the flybridge has a rectangular Jacuzzi, sun pads and sun loungers, a bar and gym equipment. Twin 2,000hp Caterpillar diesel engines give her a range of 5,000 nautical miles at her cruising speed of 13 knots and she is fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilizers.

Elandess  was asking €52.5 million.

Following the completion of her sea trials in Germany last week, the 75m/244ft motor yacht ELANDESS has been officially delivered from Abeking & Rasmussen and is making a passage for Norway.

Launched back in May, superyacht ELANDESS is unquestionably one of this year’s most anticipated deliveries.

Indeed, coming from the iconic German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen, and with interior and exterior design from the award-winning Harrison Eidsgaard, she is nothing short of a modern masterpiece.

Boasting a large 8m swimming pool and a vast sundeck, superyacht ELANDESS will be well at home around at the world’s finest cruising grounds

The owner will be able to accomodate up to 14 guests across 7 beautifully appointed cabins. With a vast master suite on the main deck and six guest staterooms on the lower deck, the configuration promises comfort to all of those on board.

Whilst there are currently no published images revealing the finer details of superyacht ELANDESS, YachtCharterFleet will be sure to provide readers with a sneak preview as soon as any photographs surface.

The yacht evokes an image of a contemporary museum with amenities and facilities to complement it.

The hand-drawn exterior of the ENLANDESS yacht was designed by Harrison Eidsgaard.

ELANDESS was built by Abeking & Rasmussen in Germany at their Bremen shipyard.

The outstanding yacht was delivered to the owner in 2018.

She has a grey steel hull that frames the craft’s windows perfectly.

The white superstructure is made of aluminum, and it features teak decks.

She cuts an impressive figure on the water as she slices through the waves.

Thanks to her twin Caterpillar engines, the $115 million yacht has a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

The award-winning yacht has an annual running cost of $5 -$11 million.

California's Great America set to close in 11 years, long goodbye planned after land sold

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- Goodbye California's Great America ... at least, eventually.

Park operator Cedar Fair announced on Monday , it sold the land in Santa Clara.

The development came as a shock to those who have long-loved the nearly 50-year-old South Bay staple.

"I was here every summer and my kids grew up here," Milpitas resident, Rosie Walker said as she waited to pick up her daughter and friends from the theme park. "It's a tradition, getting a season pass for your birthday, right? So you can spend your summers at Great America. So, it's gonna be sad."

Cedar Fair plans to keep the amusement park open for "up to 11 years," under a lease agreement with purchaser Prologis.

The land next to Levi's Stadium was sold to the Bay Area-based logistics real estate company for $310 million.

In a press release, Cedar Fair announced it "Intends to use proceeds from the land sale transaction to accelerate progress on its strategic priorities of reducing debt to achieve its $2 billion target."

However, visitors on Monday told ABC7 News, it's hard to put a price on missed experiences.

"It's so sad because like, when I'm an adult, I still would want to go here and have fun," Lauren Gorospe said. "And like, relive those memories."

Memories that, for Gorospe and others, were made only a short distance from home.

Great America guests explained similar amusement parks in the East Bay and elsewhere demand long drives, leaving the younger generation with few options.

"It's kinda long, it's kinda far," visitor Jaquelyn Gutierrez said. "So like, I'd rather come here and you know, enjoy my time with my friends."

"Most of the time, we don't really have to go on a lot of rides because there's other stuff to do," Dominique Walker added.

With an expiration date on entertainment, only a decade of drops left, and a few more years of funnel cakes, Great America fans wonder what this means for opportunity.

"A lot of people, this is their first job," Rosie Walker shared. "I grew up here, so I know I used to come here all the time. The economic impact it'll have on the community... I think is gonna be huge."

ABC7 News reached out to Great America, Santa Clara city leaders and county representatives about future impacts.

The City of Santa Clara shared the following statement:

"City does not know of any plans on how the California's Great America property will be used in the future by the new property owner, so we cannot comment on the economic impacts or benefits. However, like all our businesses, large or small, we value and appreciate what California's Great America has brought to our community since establishing in the City of Santa Clara in 1976. They have impacted millions and millions of visitors throughout the world and locally. The City of Santa Clara has enjoyed the partnership with California Great America."

"On the surface, it appears Great America will change in the short term," Mayor Lisa M. Gillmor said. "My hope and goal is to keep Great America there as long as possible in the long term."

Cedar Park told ABC7 News, "Although we no longer own the land at the park, our guests and associates should expect no immediate changes at Great America from this transaction. Prior to acquiring the land in 2019, we had previously leased the land from the City of Santa Clara for more than 40 years, so this lease structure is nothing new to us."

The company explained, "Going forward, we plan to roll out a full lineup of immersive entertainment, seasonal festivals, and culinary events as planned and for years to come, just as we always have."

However, many are left wondering if another operating company might be the ticket to keeping it open.

ABC7 News reached out to Prologis. The company said it doesn't currently have any specific plans for future use. Looking beyond the lease expiration, the company expect to work with local leaders and the community on long-term plans.

In a statement, the company said in part:

"Prologis is excited to make this investment in Santa Clara. As an experienced real estate company headquartered in the Bay Area, we know the community and local businesses well."

California’s Great America in Santa Clara now has an expiration date.

The park operator Cedar Fair announced Monday that it sold the land and ultimately will close the park.

The company sold the land for about $310 million to San Francisco-based company Prologis.

They also said they've signed a deal with the buyer to continue to run the park for "up to 11 years" before finally closing it down at the end of their current lease.

In a statement, they said the park should continue to look and feel the same to visitors -- at least in the short term.

Visitors to the park on Monday were shocked to hear the news. Several employees at the park said they learned the news of the sale on Monday as well.

“It’s kind of a bummer you know, because we got kids here that enjoy this kind of thing, so shutting it down is not really good unless you open another park better or bigger somewhere else,” said Jaime Gonzalez of Hayward. Gonzalez brought his kids to the park Monday to ride the rollercoasters. He said Great America is a favorite spot for his family to visit when school is out for summer.

“I think that’s rough," said Anthony Carranza who drove out from Santa Rosa to enjoy the rides. "I’ve been coming to this park since I was seven, so a lot of memories with my family. This is the first time I’ve come with just friends so we’re making new memories today, so definitely a lot of nostalgia.”

Cedar Fair purchased the land in 2019 from the city of Santa Clara. Prior to that time, Cedar Fair said it leased the land from the city for more than forty years. A representative from Cedar Fair noted in an email that this new deal allows them to continue to operate "one of the most popular California entertainment destinations" by leasing back the property over a period of years.

Cedar Fair CEO and president Richard Zimmerman said in a statement that the company tried to keep Bay Area ties in this sale: “We chose Prologis as our partner because of their deep ties in the Bay Area and their reputation for working closely with local communities on large developments.” 

“For our investors, the sale and lease agreements allow us to monetize a high-value asset in the heart of Silicon Valley at a very attractive multiple," Zimmerman continued.

NBC Bay Area reached out to Prologis as well, a representative said they currently don't have any specific plans for future use of the land once the park closes.

"As we look past the lease expiration, we look forward to working with local government on the long-term plan, which we'll do through collaborative discussions with the city and local community," said a representative for Prologis in an email.

They'll have several years, and so will park fans, to figure it out.

The city of Santa Clara said it was just informed about the news of this sale.

"On the surface, it appears California's Great America will not change in the short term," said Santa Clara Mayor Lisa M. Gillmor in a statement. "My hope and goal is to keep California's Great America there as long as possible in the long term."

California's Great America has existed in Santa Clara since 1976.

The sweetest driver and the most amazing relaxing time. We didn't have to worry about anything. Really throughly enjoyed our time. We drove to San Francisco to a wedding, my aunts and uncles are older and it's hard for them to see in long drives outside of our city. This was a treat! It was around 30+ of us. Super friendly customer service, everything was easy and smooth. The bus was clean as a whistle and we were able to play our own music. Bluetooth connected, waters and a TV! We brought our own snacks and a little bit of wine, we had a blast.

We rented a party bus for my husband and I's 30th and it was incredible! Mark was awesome and made sure we all got there and back safely, and we got sooo many compliments from our friends that came. Plenty of space, super clean ride and overall just a great time! Definitely recommend!

I had my senior ball on 5/5 and Mark was amazing! I found him on yelp and had messaged him starting from February because I knew how crazy prom season would be. I copied part of the message he sent me for the quote I asked for: "The following land yacht is available for your 6 hour (5:45p-11:45p) event on the date you've requested.  30-36 passenger - $1,695.00 Our prices INCLUDE ALL FEES AND CHAUFFEUR'S GRATUITY, as well as complimentary ice and bottled water." I had 32 people on my bus and we all had enough space! The water was definitely awesome for the end of the night but Mark was so responsible and got us to SF city hall on time and safely. He was so quick at replying to my messages and I have had looked into many other places and this was the most accommodating and reasonably priced. Highly recommend !!

Our group had an amazing time! Mark arrived on time to pick us up and the bus was clean and spacious. The bathroom on board was an added plus. The pricing is very favorable to other companies and the bus has everything you need. I wish I had taken pictures of the interior because the other photos on here don't do it justice. There's also a TV that you can stream to. We ended up extending our reservation an hour because we didn't want it to end. We will definitely be using Mark again in the future.

First class experience from pickup, journey, to drop off. Our chauffeur Kelvin provided us with a safe and wonderful experience to make for a good time. Will definitely be hiring this company for future corporate events and celebrations. Keep up your good work. Thank you.

I had my 40th birthday bash and Mark was amazing. Bus was very clean and roomy with a bathroom which was a plus. Hands down, book with Pacific Land Yachts if you are looking for a party bus. Would definitely do business again!

Mark is pretty darn awesome! We chartered his land yacht for a work event. Everyone had an amazing time, and everyone said that they would definitely want to work with Mark again for both future and personal events that require group transportation. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!

I rented a bus for my brothers 30th birthday and it was an unforgettable night! The bus was in great condition and so much bigger than I imagined. It even had a restroom which was helpful because we had it reserved for 5 hours. The driver was fantastic and let us blast our music and dance the whole time. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a good time!!

Great driver. Smooth sailing for a large group of 30+! Very nice clean bus (with a bathroom!!) We had such a great time. I can't wait to do it again.
