Best Sailing Organization

I've done two trips with Yacht Week and am already looking forward to my next one! I was a lead booker for this trip, which was honestly a lot of work. There's a lot of coordinating and planning that needs to be done beforehand, but once we are on the boat, the host, skipper and event staff have everything covered. It was the perfect break from reality and such a carefree vacation. The boat, meals, events, music, EVERYTHING was incredible! I can not wait for my next trip!

BEST WEEK EVER EVER

Honestly, the greatest holiday I’ve ever been on, ever. Was so unbelievably vibes to sales the sea around Greece with by best mates and all made possible by YW! Boat was class, and super clean and loads of room to chill, cook, drink, play games and have lols. Jumping off the boat and practicing diving is addictive! Skippers were so fun and professional, felt so safe and looked after. The shop is a mammoth task, so get ready for that, but completely worth (just remember to take water and a big list!! Overall 10/10 experience Can’t wait for next year xxxxx

What an amazing experience, travelled on my own and met some great people! Easy to book and everything organised very well! Visited some great spots and created some amazing memories! Our captains were fantastic and even taught us a few things on the boat and let us sail it!

Couldn't recommend Yacht Week more

Couldn't recommend Yacht Week more (so much that I'm writing a review and I never do this). Went to Greece and have thought about it every day since, thank so much to the best crew and the best country.

It was just the absolute best time

It was just the absolute best time. Amazing people, food, location, yacht, skippers and organisation. Everything was epic. I think I'm now addicted.

Great 1st yacht week

Host Ashley & Skipper Hellen were amazing! They made the trip really come together. Most everything was amazing really. Only thing I’d change is better vetting/informing of venues for new routes - the ordering, serving, and charging at the big group dinners was rocky at best, venues didn’t seem at all prepared, which made for confusion & stress for guests.

Turkey (Kebab Week)

As an irish man the mere thought of leaving the emerald isle behind for a week on the high seas had our lad more jittery than a cup of over-caffeinated espresso. However Yacht Week Turkey was by far worth the venture. Everyday got better and better and was by far the best week ever, but sadly as ​​my girl Nelly Furtado says “ all good things come to an end. That is until Croatia 2024!

Really disappointed with TYW

Really disappointed with TYW. First of all, your advertising is not reality. Essentially we are camping on a yacht, your advertisements make it look like a much nicer experience. All of your advertisements include the catamarans, not the monohauls. Some of the parties were really not good, the 70s one was in a tiny bar.. how could everyone possibly fit in there? The communication at the beginning of the trip was not good; your website said to meet at a certain beach club in Athens. But our skipper told us to go somewhere else.. please fix your website to reflect these changes.

Skipper amazing

Our skipper, Louise Landin was amazing and made the experience as good as possible. She was helpful in all areas and catered to everything the group needed. Otherwise the experience was good. However the toilets on the yacht didn’t work well and we were charged from the charter company for toilets not working that was no fault of ours.

The best week of my life

The best week of my life! I went on Yacht Week for the Ultra Festival week in July & it was everything I thought it’d be & more. The festival itself was amazing, if you’re a dance music fan you’ll love it. The music, the stages, the lighting, the Yacht Week VIP area, it was all a vibe! Shout out to Yacht Week & the staff as well, the organisation was on another level. Everything throughout the week was organised for you so you could relax & focus on having a good time. All transfers from the marinas to the festival for example were all organised so you just had to turn up to the pick up point & let the night commence! The whole week as a whole was magical - you’ll be seeing me again Yacht Week!

Disgraceful company purely interested in your money

Yacht week told us 6 weeks before the event (Tahiti) that they would give us a decision as to whether the event is going ahead on a specific date (Monday 06th Sep). On Weds 08th Sep they have said the event MIGHT go ahead and they would give us a decision just over 2 weeks before the event. Further, they said so long as they can sail the event will go ahead despite no island parties happening due to hospitals being overrun with COVID patients. The event has already been postponed once and this company is purely self interested in being able to hang on to people's money. Been on several yacht weeks and would never go again. GIVE US REFUNDS FOR THIS COMPLETE DISASTER!!!!!

Hi George, Sorry that the communication has not been as clear as we would have liked. We have been waiting for the Tahiti government to set out some clear guidelines for us and unfortunately they have not managed to give us a longer term plan which is what we were hoping for. We still want to be able to give you an amazing experience and run this event, hence us waiting for guidance. Food - Cabin Booking

A host and food is included in all cabin booking, excluding Classic Monohull. They will cook 6 breakfasts, 6 lunches and 2 dinners during the week. On the nights when you eat on land, please remember to include your skipper and host in your dinner plans, as they will also need feeding.

Alcoholic and soft drinks are not included in any booking. You will shop for all your drinks on check in day, or can order a drinks package. Grabbing some from duty free can also be a great way to save some cash.

Food - Yacht Booking

Food is not included for any full yacht bookings. Head to the supermarket on check in to buy your provisions for the week. If you choose to add a host, they will take care of meal plans and shopping. They will cook 6 breakfasts, 6 lunches and 2 dinners during the week.

Port fees & fuel

Port fees are payable on arrival at each island you visit. These vary depending on yacht size, location and dates. Both Fuel and Port Fees go towards the kitty amount.

Water & Water Taxis

Your yacht will be topped up with water. Some nights you will be away from dock, you’ll need to grab a water taxi so take you to the events.

Yacht Deposit

If you have booked a full yacht, The Charter Companies require payment of a refundable deposit on the first day. See here for more information.

Cabin Damage Waiver Fee

If you have booked a cabin you have two options, a non-refundable damage waiver fee or a refundable security deposit payment. See here for more information.

Transfers to & from airport

You’ll need to make your own way to the marina from the airport - if you are taking a taxi, make sure to take out cash first!

Tipping is customary in the marine industry. So if your skipper and host have given you an amazing week, please consider tipping them for their services.

Alcohol & eating out

Some nights you will eat out in the local bars and restaurants. Remember Your Skipper and Host need watering and feeding while you're away from the yacht!

Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly gifted himself a $300 million megayacht, dubbed “Launchpad,” ahead of his 40th birthday.

The staggering 387-foot-long vessel was seen floating at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after arriving at its berth earlier this week, The Sun reported Thursday.

The multi-layered luxury ship’s sleek exterior was designed by Espen Øino International and boasts a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, according to SuperYacht Times.

Reportedly ranking as the 45th largest yacht in the world, the interiors are just as aesthetically pleasing and reportedly executed by Zuretti Interior Design company, a France-based company specializing in unique and custom yacht design.

The breathtakingly beautiful floater stands out with a navy blue theme matching an American flag perched proudly on its wood-paneled stern.

There are several outdoor areas where the social media maven will be able to relax with his family and the indoor levels feature glass paneling allowing for tons of natural light.

There also appears to be a helipad perfect for whenever the Facebook co-founder wants to travel to his vessel by air.

The Feadship-built yacht, built in 2022, can comfortably fit 24 guests aboard, requires a crew of 48, and is said to cost $30 million a year for upkeep and usage, according to Superyachtfan.com .

Boatworld insiders have been buzzing with speculation that Zuckerberg is the owner of the newly minted mega-cruise ever since it made its main voyage from the Netherlands last week.

The tech titan was spotted touring the Russian-commissioned megayacht in early March, though the impressive boat didn’t arrive stateside until this week due to sanctions, according to The Sun.

The website reported that Zuckerberg purchased the pricey yacht – along with its own $30 million partner boat — most likely as an early 40th birthday present to himself.

The boat reportedly traveled to Florida after being granted special permission to be imported just weeks ahead of Zuckerberg’s birthday on May 14.

Zuckerberg’s yacht is just 30 feet shorter than the length of fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos’ 417-foot megayacht Koru, which the Amazon boss snagged for a whopping $500 million.

Zuckerberg’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

While the first few days of NFL free agency get all the headlines, what teams do after the legal tampering period can go a long way in determining which actually end up building their roster most effectively. Last year, the Chiefs added late signings such as Donovan Smith and under-the-radar additions Drue Tranquill and Mike Edwards to fill out their depth chart. Why he's still available: The free agent safety market is loaded. The only guys to sign new deals with multiyear guarantees so far are Xavier McKinney , Brandon Jones and Darnell Savage . (The exact terms haven't been released for C.J. Gardner-Johnson 's deal with the Eagles , but it wouldn't be a surprise if he was the fourth player in that grouping. He also could end up playing mostly as a slot corner in his return stint with Philadelphia.) The market has been rough.

Jordan Whitehead , coming off a career year with the Jets in a market with a 13.6% cap increase, took a pay cut to re-join the Buccaneers on a two-year deal. Veterans such as Vonn Bell and Jordan Poyer left for one-year pacts . There are still plenty of well-known, talented players who are hunting for opportunities. If anything, the teams that signed Jones and Savage might be wishing they waited and bargain-hunted at the position.

Vegas could break Minnesota Wild's back over the next week

How big was Minnesota's 6-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings Wednesday night? Leaving that game with no points sets the stage for what could be a backbreaking week as the Wild play just once over the next six days while the team they're chasing, the Vegas Golden Knights, takes the ice four times. 

Vegas hosts Seattle Thursday night and then gets the Columbus Blue Jackets at home Saturday night. They go to St. Louis in a pivotal game Monday and then stay on the road against Nashville on Tuesday. 

The Wild host St. Louis on Saturday and then don't play again until next Thursday (San Jose at home). 

Entering play Thursday, Minnesota has 76 points with 12 games to go. They're chasing Vegas for the final wild card spot. The Golden Knights have 79 points with 14 games remaining. Saint Louis is right behind the Wild with 75 points and 13 games left. 

The worst-case scenario over the next week would be Vegas winning all four games and the Wild losing to the Blues in regulation. In that scenario, the Wild would go to bed next Tuesday night 11 points behind Vegas. 

The best-case scenario has the Wild beating the Blues on Saturday and Vegas losing all four of its games in regulation. In that scenario, the Wild would go to bed next Tuesday night just one point behind Vegas. 

It's entirely possible that Vegas doesn't play well in the next week. The Golden Knights have gone 5-10-1 since Feb. 8 when they were 31-15-6. 

All the Wild can do is hope. What happens in the next week is almost entirely out of their control.

Gulf Coast Lady Commodores Ready for Trip to Nationals

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Gulf Coast women’s head coach Rory Kuhn and his Commodores are in the midst of preparing for a trip to Casper, Wyoming, which will host the 24 team, single elimination tournament this year.

The Commodores sharing the Panhandle Conference title with Northwest Florida, and as it happened, those two made it to the title game in the Region 8, or State Tournament. The Raiders winning that 63-59. So a very competitive game, which when you realize Gulf Coast played nearly the entire game with the same five players, well that’s impressive.

We visited with coach Kuhn Wednesday, and asked about his roster, and the overall health of it, and how getting the five-seed, which includes a first round bye, helps them.

“As of right now, we’ve got all eight that are left on the roster. I can’t put Ozzie Momodou out there, I’m thinking about it even with her crutches. But probably not. But we’ve got all eight as of right now. Yeah, I think the biggest thing for us as you know with our walking wounded is the actual rest, the bye is the big thing. We will be able to see some film on both those teams. Getting to see them live will really help. So it’s a good thing, it definitely works out. The bye is clutch in that regard so we’re happy with that.”

The team has played shorthanded much of the season, but the loss of Momodu late in the season really put a strain on the team. Yet it’s won 6 of 9 since Izzy Ozzy Momodu suffered that season ending knee injury in early February. But how have these players managed to compete at such a high level without Izzy?

”Just by believing in each other to be honest.” says sophomore Alieghy Bartholomew. “Believing in the work that we put in and the effort and knowing that’s going to help us get somewhere do you know what I mean? Why quit! We feel like Izzy is still here, her presence is still here you know? She’s strong and we listen to her when she talks so I just feel like I don’t know us staying together and being together has been the number one focus. And we’ve shown that we can play without her and we will!”

“I told them you know you’ve got to appreciate your opportunity.” adds coach Kuhn. “We’re one of 24 teams that are still alive. A lot of peoples seasons a lot, a lot, are over, it’s ended. So I mean just the fact that you get out there, yeah, it’s awesome, it is the national tournament but it’s what we’ve done all year, it’s basketball. And like I said, if we’re mentally focused and locked in when we go out there, and we know our opponent, and we’re prepared will be hard to beat. "

As for the plan this week before heading west?

“Yeah, I mean at this point, it’s just like you’re not going to get any better or any worse at this point. Like basically, you are who you are. We know what we’re good at, we know when we’re not good, but we know when we’re really good. So it’s just keeping a positive mental mindset, staying loose, staying in the moment. And enjoy it, just get out there and you’ve got to throw the ball up and play the game. We’re at that point you can just tweak, fine-tune a couple of little things. Scout specific for each team. You’ve just got to get to the game and play it, that’s it.”

Coach says they’ll fly west Sunday, and will work out there Monday through Wednesday with their first game Thursday afternoon.

Caitlin Clark has been a mainstay on The Associated Press All-America team the past few seasons.

The NCAA’s all-time scoring leader from Iowa was honored for the third straight year Wednesday, becoming the 11th player to earn the distinction three times. She was a unanimous choice from the 35-member national media panel that chooses the AP Top 25 each week.

Clark was joined on the first team by Stanford’s Cameron Brink, UConn’s Paige Bueckers and freshmen JuJu Watkins of USC and Hannah Hidalgo of Notre Dame. They are only the fourth and fifth freshmen to make the AP team since it began in 1994-95, joining Oklahoma’s Courtney Paris, UConn’s Maya Moore and Bueckers.

“We’ve had a front row seat to JuJu, but what Hannah’s done is unbelievable,” USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb said. “Coach Niele (Ivey) has done an incredible job.”

Clark joins a select group with her third first-team honor: South Carolina’s A’ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston, Baylor’s Brittney Griner, Tennessee’s Chamique Holdsclaw, Duke’s Alana Beard, Paris, Oregon’s Sabrina Ionescu, Kentucky’s Rhyne Howard and UConn’s Breanna Stewart and Moore. Paris and Moore did it four times.

Clark, who earned second-team honors as a freshman, led the nation in scoring averaging 31.9 points per game as well as being tops in assists with 8.9. The Iowa native became the first Division I player to have consecutive 1,000-point seasons and to also top 3,000 points and 1,000 assists for her career.

“That is mind-boggling when you think about it,” Iowa coach Lisa Bluder said. “I mean, everybody’s defensive plan is to stop her, and nobody’s been able to figure out really how to do it. She’s faced every kind of defense. She really knows how to pick them apart.”

Watkins took the country by storm as a freshman . She has already scored 810 points, which is fourth most for a freshman all-time. She averaged 27 points, which was second behind Clark and added 7.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.5 blocks to help the Trojans win the Pac-12 Tournament for the first time since 2014. She is the first USC player to earn first-team AP honors.

“JuJu came to a program that while there’s a proud history, there’s been nothing significant done in many, many years,” Gottlieb said. “It’s very rare for a player of her level to go to a program that’s not already at the top. She’s answered every bell.”

Hidalgo was incredible on both ends of the floor for the Fighting Irish, helping lead them to the ACC Tournament title. She averaged 23.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists and also led the nation in steals , averaging 4.6 a game.

“She deserves to be listed amongst the best in women’s basketball,” Ivey said. “Hannah is a fierce competitor and an elite performer who rises to the occasion and has been extremely consistent and dominant this season.”

Bueckers finally made it through a season healthy after missing most of the past two years because of injuries. She returned to the form that earned her AP Player of the Year honors as a freshman, averaging 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the Huskies.

“She’s one of those unique superstars that wants to be that at both ends of the floor,” UConn coach Geno Auriemma said. “Not everyone values those same things. She gets a lot of enjoyment out of the rebounding that she can do, the blocked shots, the steals, stealing the inbounds pass on the out-of-bounds play. She just has a great sense of the game and what’s happening next. I think that’s probably why she’s never surprised, because I think she always knows what’s happening next.”

Brink averaged 17.8 points, 12 rebounds and 3.5 blocks, which led the nation. She became only the second player in the past 24 years to have 100 blocks and 100 assists in the same season, joining Stewart, who did it three times.

“Cam is the best two-way player in the nation and a dominant force at both ends,” Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer said. “In addition to all the points, rebounds and blocks, she’s a selfless teammate and a willing passer who makes everyone around her better.”

Clark, Brink and Bueckers were all on the preseason AP All-America team . They were joined by LSU’s Angel Reese, Indiana’s Mackenzie Holmes and Virginia Tech’s Elizabeth Kitley.

SECOND TEAM

The AP second team was headlined by Kitley, who was the ACC player of the year for a third straight season. She was joined by Reese, South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso, Texas’ Madison Booker and Ohio State’s Jacy Sheldon.

The AP third team was Utah’s Alissa Pili, Holmes, Syracuse’s Daisha Fair, Virginia Tech’s Georgia Amoore and Oregon State’s Reagan Beers.

HONORABLE MENTION

Ayoka Lee of Kansas State, and Aaliyah Edwards of UConn were the leading vote-getters among players who didn’t make the three All-America teams. Players earned honorable-mention status if they appeared on one of the ballots.
