This Islander is in very good overall condition with serviceable sails, solid rigging, and a 20 HP diesel engine that runs great. The boat is dry inside with no leaks. She was inspected in March of 2023 along with getting minor hull repairs, new bottom paint, new cutlass bearing, and shaft stuffing. She needs some cosmetic attention such as new topside nonskid paint, refinishing of the topside wood trim, and cockpit teak deck. The inside is in good shape but ready for some upgrades to the new owner's liking. Stock #359748 Islander 36 Ready to Sail with Recent Bottom Pant, Cutlass Bearing, and Shaft Stuffing This 1972 Islander 36 is ready for a new Capitan. She has a lot to like if you are looking for a nice sized sloop with a large cockpit with room for 6 to sail comfortably. The boat needs to be sold, so bring all reasonable offers. The boat was valued by a professional surveyor at $23,000 in March of 2023. She is well outfitted with a Lazy Jack system for the main sail including a Stack Pack, a Schafer furling jib, a solid boom vang, a hydraulic backstay adjuster, stainless steel rod standing rigging, and with lines rigged for single-handed sailing. The helm is equipped with a stainless-steel wheel, compass, folding cockpit table, cup holders, and instruments including depth and speed indicators. Inside the cabin you will find a galley containing a stainless-steel sink with a new hand pump faucet, and a large ice box. The old gimble stove has been replaced with a refrigerator and microwave. The cabin sole has laid teak, and a settee on both port and starboard bulkheads with a retractable table next to the mast that creates a large living space when not in use. I bought this boat brand new in 2013 and with full factory equipments that factory had to offer at the time. She has a 5' Draft, and dual integral keel cooling. There is lots of headroom for a six-footer. This is a big, stable, tough, easily maintained, operator-friendly boat with a great deck layout, and a capacity to cruise anywhere in the world. Design anticipates easy crewing by a couple, and single-handed under sail or power is a viable option.Actual Condition It is reported, due to health reasons, the owner has suspended the project. All major steel construction has been completed, including grinding of all hull welds. The ship has also been sandblasted and painted. There are well over 6,000 hours of construction into the Chinese Junk at this point. The hull, deck, bulwark, and cabin plate are high-strength low-alloy Corten Steel. The frames, keel shoe and t-bar are A-36. All steel is certified, and from USA Plants. All plates were cut with plasma to preclude any warping. All welding was done with modern, inverter-based welding machines. The hull plate welds were triple welded with very high-quality filler metal. Generally, the interior welds were made with a dual shield mig process, and the exterior welds were made with a traditional stick process. The rest of the work necessary to complete the project is primarily inside carpentry, plumbing, sail making and wiring. 1989 Cambria 48 The Cambria 48" was the only boat to be included twice in Fernec' Mate's "Best Sailboats of the World"! This is a beautiful shiny, glassy, custom navy blue hull, with teak deck and complete isinglass enclosure. She is mid heavy with world cruising in mind, or elegant local coastal. Cambria Yachts are very well respected in the industry. This 48 footer is a one off from the board of David Walters. She is a Cambria 46 footer in the mold to have a traditional counter stern. The yacht is very shallow of draft with the centerboard up though the low aspect fin keel should prove efficient on its own, the gained aspect ratio with the board down should make her perform very well to weather. The yacht is moderate to heavy displacement even though she is built with a cored hull for rigidity and insulation. Her rig is stout with a large section. Head stay and forestay are roller furling.
