86′ Nordhavn Yacht VIVIERAE Listed With Denison

Denison is pleased to announce that VIVIERAE, an 86′ Nordhavn , is now for sale with Denison Superyacht Broker Glynn Smith . Delivered in 2008, with a refit in 2014, VIVIERAE is a top quality expedition yacht that has been meticulously maintained by her full-time professional crew.

This spacious and elegant yacht is built for luxurious and economic long-distance cruising. With a 24-foot beam, VIVIERAE offers a layout and space of vessels much larger. 

Many custom features distinguish her from her sister ships. Built with the utmost attention to detail for which Nordhavn  is renowned, she is offered for sale in spotless condition.

VIVIERAE sleeps eight owners and guests in four ensuite staterooms. The double berth captain’s cabin is aft of the pilothouse, and the crew cabin is aft of the engine room.

The yacht’s interior was originally designed by Dee Robinson Interiors, and features elegant American cherry woodwork with panels in eye catching book matched mahogany crotch, black absolute granite, custom color matched interior Dutch doors and window frames, and intricate stainless steel.

In 2011, she received a $2 million reconfiguration with a flybridge extension. The new arrangement included the interior sky lounge staircase being removed and an exterior aft staircase being added. The owner also added a waste treatment system and many redundant systems throughout.

Carefully cared for and under the direction of Destry Darr Designs, she was redecorated and refreshed in August 2014. This includes new carpet, new dining room chairs, new window treatments, all salon furniture recovered, new bed throws, new decorative pillows, new exterior chair cushions, new flybridge sun pad cushions, new lampshades, refinished coffee tables and dining room table, recovered pilothouse Stidd seat and back cushions and recovered sky lounge furnishings.

VIVIERAE represents a unique opportunity to own a spectacular yacht in perfect condition. She was designed and built to handle all oceans of the world from the tropics to high latitudes in comfort, style and safety.

Motor yacht Vivierae II was launched in China in 2017 by Nordhavn. She is a 29.5-metre explorer, designed by the in-house team of Nordhavn and can accommodate up to ten guests in five deluxe cabins, with a crew of five on board.

The swim platform provides an easy way in and out of the water with quick access to the main deck aft, where guests can dine alfresco at the aft sofa and raised table. Alternatively, there is a port staircase connecting to the upper deck the group can rest on the stern settee and take in the views or get refreshments from the bar. An additional seat is placed in front of the helm station for a more tranquil location to take in the forward views.

Sunbathers have choice options for relaxation on the flybridge, with the aft section offering a double-sized sunpad and a Jacuzzi forward. For a break from the sunshine, the enclosed forward section beneath the hardtop is fitted with a starboard bar and a port alfresco dining area with an extendable table and a C-shaped sofa.

The decor is an update on the timeless and elegant superyacht interior, providing deep wood panelling and bright white furnishings with accents in silver and blue. Mirrors on the ceiling enhance the lighting and vibrant modern artwork with marbling effects stands out against the otherwise neutral tones.

On the lower deck, the accommodation provides guests with one double cabin and two twin cabins convertible to doubles, all with en-suite facilities. A forward glass staircase connects the levels and adds to the ambiance of the main deck formal dining area, which places a sizeable bar to the port side and a grand table to seat eight guests beneath a bespoke chandelier. Farther aft is the salon, which creates a symmetrical setting with matching L-shaped sofas under both windows as well as two coffee tables and armchairs. The Master suite is positioned forward on the main deck and benefits from large windows for plenty of natural light and a spacious bathroom.

The upper deck hosts the helm station and the Captain's cabin, with the aft space dedicated to the sky lounge which can be converted into a fifth guest cabin. The cosy interior is a comfortable place to rest and converse after an alfresco meal on the aft deck, and the broad windows ensure that guests have excellent views while seated on the L-shaped sofa or in the armchair.

A pair of Caterpillar (C18) 454 HP diesel engines provides a top speed of 12 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots with a range of 3,000 nautical miles.

Power comes from a pair of CAT C18 ACERT engines, which allow Vivierae to reach a top speed of 12 knots. She cruises at the speed of 9.5 knots and has a range of 3,000 nm.

Compact explorer yacht VivieRae delivered by Nordhavn

The 29.56 metre explorer yacht VivieRae has been delivered, her builder Nordhavn has confirmed.

The third hull in the Nordhavn 96 series, she follows on from Macguffin , which was launched in 2015, and Lacey Kay — a 2016 launch for the yard. VivieRae hit the water for the first time in May 2017 and following the recent handover her owner has set off to explore Indonesia.

VivieRae has been fitted with a large hardtop Bimini, offering shade to guests relaxing on the superyacht sundeck . Other key features include a shaded aft cockpit and a smart grey hull finish. Accommodation is for eight guests split between four cabins, while the crew quarters allows for a total staff of up to five people.

The exterior lines and naval architecture of the Nordhavn 96 series of compact explorer yachts was developed in-house and the 7.32 metre beam allows for a total interior volume of 199GT.

Power comes from a pair of 454hp Caterpillar C18 ACERT diesel engines for a top speed of 12 knots. When trimmed back to 9.5 knots, VivieRae will have a maximum cruising range of 3,000 nautical miles, drawing on a total fuel reserve of more than 26,000 litres.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at the yard include the fourth hull in the series,  Nordhavn 9615 , which is also due for completion this year.

Over three decks, VIVIERAE II provides guests with several spaces for relaxing and entertaining, including the main aft deck with oval dining table, chairs and lounge seating. On the bridge deck, there’s more seating, a bar and grill, and on the sundeck is a jacuzzi, massive sunpad, bar and dining area.

Inside, the décor was designed by Destry Darr Designs and is 5-star quality, featuring original artwork, expert cabinetry and lavish furnishings, conveying the international flavour of this magnificent charter yacht. The central stairway is encased in glass and links each level. The saloon boasts a huge lounge space, separate formal dining area and large windows for views from every angle. Along with a flatscreen TV, there is a 500+ movie library for guests’ enjoyment.

The skylounge on the top deck is an additional social space which can be converted into a fifth cabin, with high-tech entertainment system and lounges.

ACCOMMODATION

On the main deck, the master stateroom features a king bed and generously-sized marble ensuite. On the lower deck are the guest staterooms, comprising two cabins with two twin beds each that can be converted into king beds, and the VIP stateroom with queen bed. Every cabin has a private ensuite, TV/AV and wi-fi.

The skylounge converts into a fifth cabin for two additional guests, including ensuite. This area is best suited to teenagers. An extra fee applies.

WATERTOYS & TENDERS

Onboard VIVIERAE II there is a 39ft Custom Winter Tender equipped for fishing and diving, a 17ft RIB tender and a 19ft RIB tender for watersports and towing.

For all day on-water fun, there are two electric Hydrofoil Surfboards, SUPS, kayaks, one ZUP Multi-use water sports board, multi-person towable raft, waterskis, two underwater Scooters, seven sets of dive equipment, dive compressor and hyperbaric dive chamber.

If guests are intent on maintaining their fitness regimes, VIVIERAE II comes complete with gym equipment, including treadmill, weights, TRX bands, Ab dolly and yoga mats which can all be used on the sundeck for a workout with a view.

The crew of five charter professionals, including an acclaimed Chef who offers gourmet to healthy-lifestyle menus, are highly regarded for their skills and their synergy, working together to ensure guests’ every whim is met and exceeded during their charter.

Update on Nordhavn 96 VIVIERAE II

Although the tender is lost, the very stout VivieRae II continues to survive. The challenge at hand is getting to the boat safely and freeing the prop while turbulent conditions persist. Nordhavn’s team, including VRII ’s project manager have been standing by to provide support.

The crew and owner of VRII are highly experienced, capable adventurers. This was an unlikely, unfortunate accident and the boat’s engines did not “fail” as has been reported. We are confident that following a safe recovery, VivieRaeII will continue her life of adventure.

Where is the vessel, currently? Is she broadcasting her location for navigational safety awareness?

Was your tow line nylon or newer spectra line? Spectra is like wire rope and should not be used for towing, no stretch. Secondly it will seize your running gear up. bob

When you used Spectra, or something similar, as your main tow line, which is what most tow line setup use, the bridles are made from nylon line which acts as the shock absorbers.
