BLACK PEARL (ex.PROJECT SOLAR) is a 106m/348ft superyacht built by Oceanco in 2016 and one of the world's largest sailing yachts. Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, her sleek appearance and design are a result of a collaboration between Oceanco, Nuvolari-Lenard and naval architects Dykstra Naval Architects. In particular, her head-turning exterior styling & interior is the work of Nuvolari-Lenard with interiors entirely designed by Valentina Zannier, Partner and Head of Interior Design at Nuvolari-Lenard. She was assisted by French architect Gerard Villate, while Ken Freivokh, BMT Nigel Gee and Gerard P. Villate all gave additional input into the final appearance and performance of S/Y BLACK PEARL.

As well as her three noteworthy masts that are an evolution of the design for S/Y MALTESE FALCON, BLACK PEARL has three portholes running along the main deck bulwark and a sweeping superstructure that creates an arc from the sundeck hardtop down to the main deck aft.
With three rotating masts, this breathtaking vessel has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Black Pearl is built to Lloyd's Registry Standards and boasts a total interior volume of 2,700GT.

The foredeck has plenty of space for entertaining, sunbathing or outdoor exercise, while the stern cockpit has plenty of room for sitting outside and taking in the views. On the upper deck there is a raised Jacuzzi and another set of outdoor stairs that leads up to the sundeck, where guests receive the best views on board while resting on the sunpads.
Powered by two 2 MTU 12V2000M72 diesel engines, Black Pearl reaches a top speed of 17.5 knots.

Along side the stunning coastline of your favourite cruising area, you and your guests can have fun on the water with Black Pearl’s collection of water toys and accessories. You’ll love the rush of adrenaline as you zip across the water on one of the two WaveRunners. There are also waterskis, which are great fun whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. Introducing Captain Adam, Hungarian born and speaks fluent English with basic German and Spanish. He went to school in the USA, studied Business in the UK, Environment Science in Sweden, and finished his yachting qualifications in Antigua and Warsash, UK. Adam has a past full or maritime activities, from working on cruise liners, as a dive leader, instructor, lifeguard and carrying out jet ski tours. He is also a fabulous free diver, surfer, paddle boarder and canoe/kayaker. Working for Royal Caribbean onboard their Cruise ships and also their resorts.He is a great sailor and his passion is the sea, he's thrilled to been board Black Pearl this summer.
Kathrin Munch
Kathrin has great customer service skills and loves outdoor activities. Kathrin loves to cook and show off her culinary skills. She is German and speaks fluent English and basic French. Kathrin is great at organising shore excursions and coaching aquatic sports, she then turns her hand to cook you an amazing Mediterranean menu with fresh local produce. Adam & Kathrin have been together for 3 years and worked together previously on a charter yacht in Greece, they had such a great time they decided to join their careers together and continue on this sailing path as a couple team.

Black Pearl at night. Black Pearl is a sailing yacht launched in 2016, which is 106.7 meters (350.1 ft) in length. It has three DynaRig masts supporting a sail area of 2,900 square meters (31,215 sq ft). The yacht was known during its build process originally as Oceanco Y712 and thereafter as "Project Solar". The hull is steel, the superstructure aluminum, and the masts carbon fiber.
Delivered in 2018, Black Pearl by Oceanco was one such project. Measuring 106m LOA, this visionary design officially takes the title as the second biggest sailing yacht in the world, outstripped only by the 109.5 metre Sea Cloud. There are other bigger yachts with sails, but they are considered to be sail-assisted.
