![biggest most expensive yacht The Most Expensive Tequilas in the World](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/The-Most-Expensive-Tequilas-in-the-World.jpg)
What are the most expensive tequilas in the world?
Tequila is one of the most popular liquors in the world and, in the United States alone, nearly 20 million 9-liter cases are consumed every year!
Whether you’re drinking it neat or mixing it into a margarita, you probably have a favorite brand that you know tastes great.
However, some brands can get incredibly expensive, and it is these tequilas that we are counting down today.
How did we select this list of tequilas?
We’ve put over 10 hours of research into re-writing and updating this list for 2024.
The tequilas on this list were selected by taking the current average sale price, at the time of writing.
Prices for rare tequila can vary depending on where they’re listed for sale; so for each tequila on this list, we checked the price across multiple websites and settled on the average.
Next comes the question, when does tequila stop being tequila, and start being artwork?
If you’re a fan of tequila you can probably think of at least one brand that treats their bottles as artwork.
These bottles can often be worth thousands, but is it all just similar tequila in a fancy and unique bottle?
We’ve decided we’re not going to be the judge of what’s tequila and what’s artwork, so what you see on this list reflects a true order, based on price per bottle.
The 2 Most Expensive Tequilas in the World
Tequila is a very versatile liquor and there is no shortage of varieties you can find at your local store.
That said, some of these tequilas are reserved for only the most wealthy buyers, and you certainly won’t want to drink them on a casual night out.
Without further ado, here’s our list of the 20 most expensive tequilas money can buy:

With just 200 bottles released, getting your hands on one of these bottles isn’t cheap.
4. Clase Azul 15th Anniversary Edition
Price/bottle: $30,000.
The Clase Azul celebrated its 15th anniversary by releasing 15 limited edition bottles priced at $30,000 each.
Each of the unique bottles was handcrafted to convey the story of Mexico and all proceeds from the sale of these bottles were donated to the Fundacion con Causa Azul A.C, which supports the work of craftsmen and artisans in Mexico.
Although this tequila is no longer available for sale, we imagine that Clase Azul will release another special edition for a future anniversary, so if you want to grab a bottle, be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
3. Jose Cuervo 250 Aniversario The Rolling Stones Special Edition
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Tequilas - Jose Cuervo 250 Anniversario Rolling Stones](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Most-Expensive-Tequilas-Jose-Cuervo-250-Anniversario-Rolling-Stones.jpg)
Price/Bottle: $75,000
Jose Cuervo was the very first legal tequila company to be established, with the company’s history dating back to 1795 .
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Case Cuervo, Jose Cuervo released the 250 Anniversario tequila.
They also released a limited edition of the tequila, in collaboration with the Rolling Stones rock band.
The Jose Cuervo brand played a leading role in the Rolling Stones’ 1972 North American tour, ‘Tequila Sunrise’.
For the Rolling Stones special edition, the tequila bottle is embossed with the famous ‘Hot Lips’ logo in 14-carat gold, and spikes along the sides.
It also comes packaged in a leather guitar-shaped case, including seven shot glasses.
The tequila was initially released with a price tag of just $4,000, but prices have skyrocketed to almost $75,000 since then.
2. Tequila Ley .925 Ultra-Premium
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Tequilas - Tequila Ley .925 Ultra-Premium](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Most-Expensive-Tequilas-in-the-WOrld-Tequila-Ley-.925-Ultra-Premium-800x500.jpg)
Price/Bottle: $225,000
In 2006, the artists at Tequila Ley designed three unique bottles to contain the tequila designed by Mexican artist Alejandro Gomez.
Each bottle was only created 33 times, for a total of 99 bottles, each more expensive than the last.
While this tequila in a glass bottle retails for $3,500, the gold and silver bottle goes for $25,000, and the gold and platinum for $150,000.
The most expensive of all was the white gold and platinum, which carried the insane price tag of $225,000!
Although the tequila itself is delectable, the real stars are the bottles that collectors and tequila enthusiasts scrambled to try and grab while they lasted.
1. Tequila Ley .925 Diamante
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Tequilas - Tequila Ley .925 Diamante](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Most-Expensive-Tequilas-Tequila-Ley-.925-Diamante.jpg)
Price/Bottle: $3.5 Million
Recorded as the most expensive tequila ever sold by a mile, the .925 Diamante is a true work of art.
The Ley .925 Diamante tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, which is grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.
The tequila is then aged for 7 years inside French Oak barrels before being poured into a platinum and white gold version of Tequila Ley’s signature-shaped bottle.
However, none of these things truly account for the Diamante’s insane price tag.
As the name might suggest, the bottle is encrusted with 4000 diamonds, amounting to a total of 18.5 carats.
Now that we’ve come to the end of the list, you might have noticed a common theme.
Clase Azul had the most entries on this list, holding seven positions in the top 20.
This is largely due to the fact they treat their bottles as artwork, often showcasing hand-painted art in limited edition releases.
That’s not to take away from their tequila, but to say that their unique approach is very popular among collectors and tequila enthusiasts alike.
Here’s a quick recap of the 20 most expensive tequilas in the world:
- Tequila Ley .925 Diamante

The 25 most expensive cigars in the world.
![biggest most expensive yacht](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/The-Most-Expensive-Cigars-in-the-World.jpeg)
What are the most expensive cigars in the world?
Cigars have risen in price rapidly over the past two decades.
They’re associated with luxury and wealth more than ever before, and cigar aficionados are constantly looking for rare and exclusive cigars to add to their collections.
This begs the question: how expensive can cigars be, and how difficult could it be to get your hands on the rarest of the rare?
Today we’re bringing you our updated list of the most expensive cigars in the world.
How did we select this list of cigars?
One of the issues with many expensive cigar lists on the internet, including the original version of our own, is how the cigar values are calculated.
For instance, there was once an auction for a very rare box of cigars that sold for more than half a million dollars, but the box consisted of almost 800 cigars. More details on that are below.
We’ve decided to thoroughly calculate the price/stick for each of the entries on this list, so you can have a clearer understanding of exactly which cigars are the most expensive in the world.
Whilst it may be difficult to obtain some of these cigars individually, assuming you’d want to obtain them of course, we think this is the best way of ranking the list.
Another thing we decided to take into account is limited edition releases which are packaged in custom humidors instead of regular boxes.
These humidors can often cost thousands of dollars alone, and end up distorting the price of the cigar.
Can people still buy these cigars?
Most of the cigars featured on this list can still be bought and smoked to this day.
Many of them are limited edition lines and are likely harder to find than most cigars.
What exactly makes some cigars more expensive than others?
Typically, there are a few things that can factor into cigar price:
- Limited edition productions
- Aged tobacco
- Brand recognition
Limited edition productions can often limit the total number of cigars produced, and as time passes the number of those remaining drops.
A lot of rare cigar releases also use aged tobacco leaves, and you’ll see several brands on this list that age their tobacco for at least 10 years before the cigar is rolled.
Brand recognition also plays a part as particular brands such as Cohiba are always sought after.
Finally, if none of the above results in a cigar being expensive, there are a select few who will cover cigars in gold leaf, and diamonds, and infuse them with expensive cognac.
But more on that later.
The 25 Most Expensive Cigars
We’ve done countless hours of research to ensure that our updated version of this list is the best resource available.
Without further ado, let’s get into this list of the 25 most expensive cigars in the world:
25. El Septimo The Zaya Collection (Mirifico Sapphire)
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - El Septimo The Zaya Collection](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-El-Septico-The-Zaya-Collection.jpg)

The Zaya Collection, produced by El Septimo, contains 8 different varieties of cigars.
Each variety contains five different filler tobaccos, with the tobacco leaves aged up to 15 years.
Typically, each cigar features are larger ring gauge of around 60, due to the variety of filler leaves used.
Whilst the cigars within this collection have very different flavor profiles from one another, the prices/stick are relatively similar.
At the time of researching this article, we’ve included the variety selling for the most, which is Mirifico Sapphire, at $100/stick.
Other varieties within the collection include:
- Bomba Orange
- Short Dream Topaz
- Kolosso Amethyst
- Fabuloso Dark Ruby
- Excepcion Esmerelda

The ’20th Anniversary’ line contained four cigars:
- Father & Son

Separate versions of the Cohiba Spectre have since been released annually, with the most expensive being the Spectre 2023.
The 2023 Spectre is limited to 600 boxes of 10 cigars, featuring a 52 ring gauge and 6 1/2 inches in length.
What’s most interesting about the release is the packaging, which differs somewhat from most cigars, including that of Cohiba.

22. Davidoff Royal Release Salamones

With just 5000 boxes of 20 cigars produced, this cigar is bound to increase in value with time.

Price/Stick: $200
Here we have another Hoyo de Monterrey ‘Reserva’ release, the Double Coronas Gran Reserva Cosecha 2013.
Typically, Gran Reserva lines are more sought after than regular Reserva series, due to the difference in tobacco aging.
Reserva cigar blends use tobacco leaves that are aged for a minimum of three years.
Whereas Gran Reserva blends use tobacco leaves aged for a minimum of 5 years.
Gran Reservas are also produced with only 15 sticks per box, instead of the usual 20.

![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - Cohiba Siglo De Oro](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-Cohiba-Siglo-De-Oro.jpg)
Price/Stick: $250
In 2023, Cohiba announced the release of the Siglo De Oro, to commemorate both the Chinese ‘Year of the Rabbit’, and also the 30th anniversary of the Siglo series.
Naturally, people across China, Hong Kong, and various other countries in Asia were the first to see these cigars unveiled.
Only 18,888 boxes of the Siglo De Oro will be produced.
That number might sound oddly specific, and it is indeed no coincidence, as the number 8 is lucky in Chinese culture.
The Siglo De Oro is a 54 ring gauge, 4 1/2 inch long cigar, sold in boxes of 18.
18. H. Upmann Sir Winston Gran Reserva Cosecha 2011
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - H. Upmann Sir Winston Gran Reserva Cosecha 2011](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-H.-Upmann-Sir-Winston-Gran-Reserva-Cosecha-2011.jpg)

The Gran Reserve line was launched by H. Upmann in 2009, and in 2011 the Sir Winston edition was released.
Just 5000 boxes of 15 cigars were produced, for a total of 75,000 cigars.
17. Partagas Serie E No.1 Colección Habanos 2013
Price/stick: $280.
The Serie E No. 1 Colección Habanos 2013 from Partagas appears 18th on our list of the most expensive cigars.
With this particular cigar now being over 10 years old, its price has risen heavily.
You can still find this cigar for sale in the USA for roughly $280 per stick, however, prices do vary.
16. Hoyo De Monterrey Maravillas Collection 2015
Price/stick: $290.
The most expensive Hoyo de Monterrey cigar is the Maravillas Collection 2015.
There were just 2000 boxes of 20 cigars produced, amounting to a total of 40,000 cigars.
Given the smaller production number in comparison to the other Hoyo de Monterrey’s featured on this list, you can expect to pay $290/stick for this cigar.
15. Cohiba Behike Series
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - Cohiba Behike](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-Cohiba-Behike.jpg)

However, in 2023 they decided to do something a little different.
The most popular line of Oliva cigars is the ‘Series V’, and last year they announced a new Series V Roaring Twenties Super Limited Edition.
When we take a look at the average price of an Oliva cigar, we can see a price of around $10, so what’s different?
The packaging is the most notable difference, with the Roaring Twenties SLE cigars being placed in boxes produced by Daniel Marshall.
Half of the cigars (the top layer) are also covered in gold foil.
In addition, there will only ever be 300 boxes created, for a total of 3000 cigars.
13. Trinidad Casilda Coleccion Habanos 2019
Price/stick: $370.
As you may have already noticed, Habanos limited edition collections can become incredibly expensive.

This cigar once again features the traditional book-shaped box packaging as with any ‘Coleccion Habanos’ release.
Getting your hands on a single stick could cost up to $370.
12. Daniel Marshall 24KT Golden Gigante
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - Daniel Marshall 24KT Gold Cigar](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-Daniel-Marshall-24KT-Gold-Cigar.jpg)
Price/Stick: $395
Continuing both the obsession with gold and also the story of Daniel Marshall brings us to the next cigar on our list.
For those who are unaware of Daniel Marshall ; he’s a well-known figure within the cigar industry for his work with manufacturing custom humidors.
In 2011, Marshall decided to create a 24KT gold cigar for his friend’s 64th birthday.
Marshall then produced a limited run of the cigar which would be packaged in a custom-signed travel humidor.
The 24kt cigar comes in two sizes, Torpedo and Gigante, with the Gigante size being the more expensive of the two.
Its base is that of the DM2 cigar, also sold by Daniel Marshall, which is rolled and sold to him by the Plasencia factory.
Daniel then covers the cigar with a thin layer of gold leaf from Italy.
11. Montecristo Gran Piramides Limited Edition 2017
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - Montecristo Gran Piramides 2017](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-Montecristo-Gran-Piramides-2017.jpg)

Just 5000 boxes of 15 cigars were produced, resulting in a total count of 75,000 cigars.
The Gran Reserve Cosecha 2007 can still be found for sale, but given its age, you might have to shell out more than you wish to.
9. Cohiba Talisman Edicion Limitada 2017

Price/Stick: $500
While not the most expensive release from Cohiba in the year 2021, the next entry on this list was certainly an important one.
The 55 Anniversario Edicion Limitada 2021 marked the 55th anniversary of Cohiba.
As the name suggests, the cigar was indeed a limited edition, and difficult to get a hold of.
The cigar was released in 10-count boxes, costing roughly $5000/box.
7. Davidoff Oro Blanco
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - Davidoff Oro Blanco](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-Davidoff-Oro-Blanco.jpg)
Price/Stick: $600
Davidoff claims that the Oro Blanco is the most exceptional cigar they’ve ever created.
The Oro Blanco is a 6-inch, 54 ring gauge, toro-shaped cigar, with an all-Dominican wrapper, binder, and filler
So why does it cost $600 per cigar?
One of the main reasons for its high cost is due to Davidoff’s aging process.
The Oro Blanco, which translates to “White Gold”, is made with tobacco leaves grown in areas with some of the richest soil across the entire Dominican Republic.
The leaves are then aged for 12 years before the cigar is rolled; a task completed only by Davidoff’s most experienced rollers (15+ years of experience).
After one additional year of aging, the single cigar is then reviewed, approved, and placed into a custom box.
6. Mayan Sicars
Price/stick: $633.
At the beginning of this article, we mentioned a specific auction involving a box of 800 cigars.
In 2012, a large crate of Mayan cigars, expected to be more than 600 years old, was discovered in Guatemala.
It’s important to mention that the most reliable source of this information mentions the sale of all 800 cigars for a total of $507,000, which would put the price/stick at $633.
The cigars were buried deep below the surface in sealed clay pots, and discovered by an archeologist team from Tampa University.
Who paid the $507,000? A man named Gary Liotta, owner of the Santiago Cigar Factory in New York.
5. Gurkha His Majesty’s Reserve
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - Gurkha His Majesties Reserve](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-Gurkha-His-Majesties-Reserve.jpg)
Price/Stick: $750
On the sixth spot, we have Gurkha His Majesty’s Reserve cigar.
It’s made each year, and if you’re a cigar enthusiast, you will need to preorder them a few years beforehand.
The total size of each cigar is 7-5 x 52 inches. The Connecticut Maduro wrapper comes with a Dominican binder and filler that is aged for 12 years.
The filler is infused with Louis XIII cognac, which gives it an amazing aroma.
This cigar is very rare and special, and the cognac has been known for selling only to dignitaries worldwide.
A total of 75 boxes are being made every year. The incredible aroma, as well as the taste of the cigar, will be something that you will be so impressed with that you will never forget.
4. Cohiba Ideales Coleccion 2021
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - Cohiba Ideales Limited Edition 2021](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-Cohiba-Ideales-Limited-Edition-2021.jpg)
Price/Stick: $1100
As the name suggests, this Cohiba cigar was released in 2021, measuring almost 7 inches in length, with a 56 ring gauge.
The Ideales Coleccion 2021 is limited to just 3000 boxes of 20 cigars, totaling 60,000 sticks.
The box is manufactured to look like a book.
Cohiba’s Ideales Coleccion 2021 is the last cigar to feature on this list that isn’t either covered in gold leaf and crystals or nearly 20 years old.
Which makes it the most expensive plain cigar that can still be purchased today.
3. Gurkha Black Dragon (2006 Edition)
Price/stick: $1,150.
The Gurkha Black Dragon is a cigar that you can still buy and smoke newer versions of to this day, but the original 2006 edition is a rare find.
The OG boxes were handmade using camel bone and were limited to just 5 boxes of 100 cigars.
Those who have smoked the original Black Dragon from 2006, and the newer editions seem to conclude that the taste is more or less the same.
Although the 2006 first edition of the Gurkha Black Dragon cost around $1,150, given how limited it was at the time; the current version of this cigar can be added to your collection for just $40/stick.
2. King of Denmark Cigar
Price/stick: $4,500.
The King of Denmark cigar is produced by Royal Danish and only 30 sticks are rolled per day.
Buyers can customize the cigar with both 24KT gold leaf and Swarovski crystals.
They’re also able to have their name inscribed on the cigar.
Whilst this cigar doesn’t have to cost you thousands, it can reach up to $4,500/stick depending on the customization.
1. Gurkha Royal Courtesan
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Cigars - Gurkha Royal Courtesan](https://cdn.wealthygorilla.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Most-Expensive-Cigars-Gurkha-Royal-Courtesan.jpg)
Price/Stick: $1.36 Million
The most expensive cigar in the world is the Gurkha Royal Courtesan cigar.
The Royal Courtesan is worth a ridiculous $1.36 million per stick.
One of the most interesting things here is that Gurkha are not known for their quality.
In fact, Gurkha’s quality control is often a common problem reported by fellow cigar aficionados.
This begs the question: why does this cigar cost so much more money than anything else on the list before it?
Let’s get into the details of the Royal Courtesan:
- The cigar’s filler is infused with Remy Martin’s Louis XIII cognac.
- It’s hand-rolled by a select few skilled rollers, who are blindfolded.
- The band of the cigar is covered in 5-carat diamonds.
- Rare Himalayan tobacco leaves are used for the wrapper.
- The wrapper is also covered in a layer of 24KT gold leaf.
- Personal delivery to the owner by a messenger
Notable Mentions
That concludes our main list of the 25 most expensive cigars in the world.
There are, however, a few entries we’d like to mention.
Although these weren’t included in the main list, they’re worth mentioning to any fellow cigar aficionado.
Regius Double Corona Cigar
Price: $52,000.
We decided to leave out the Regius Double Corona from our main list as the cigar itself is not the main reason for the high price.
In 2013, Regius Cigars developed their Double Corona cigar, which is produced in Nicaragua.
However, the main attraction was not actually the cigar itself, but what was included with the purchase.
The buyer of the cigar would be flown first class out to Regius headquarters in Nicaragua, where they would be given a private tour of the factory.
They would also be allowed to create their own cigar blend, and be given 1000 sticks of said blend to take home with them.
Gran Habano #5 El Gigante
Price: $185,000.
Technically this cigar does have a clear price/stick, selling for $185,000 in 2013.
However, it’s probably worth mentioning that the cigar is 19 feet long, 3 feet thick, and weighs over 600 pounds.
Here are some interesting facts about the Gran Habano #5 El Gigante:
- Despite its size, it can be smoked by multiple people at the same time.
- Made with 1,600 pounds of tobacco.
- Equivalent to smoking 25,000 cigars
- Contains 15,000 wrapper leaves
- Has a ring gauge of 1920
- Weighs 2,500 pounds with the wooden case
We decided to separate the El Gigante from our main list of expensive cigars, but the story itself is worth mentioning.

While there is no official definition of a yacht, it can be simply described as a large vessel (with cabins) intended for luxury or pleasure purposes. Any yacht over 40 meters in length is usually identified as a superyacht.
Modern superyachts are designed with the utmost focus on comfort and power. They are required to accommodate various luxurious amenities to cater to every need of the owner and guests. It includes anything from swimming pools, spas, and entertainment centers to water sports toys and helipads.
While some superyachts are exclusively used by their owners, many are offered to charter businesses through which these superyachts can be rented or chartered. The cost of leasing a superyacht could be anywhere between $80,000 to a staggering $4 million per week.
So what are the most expensive yachts in the world? Who owns them, and what extravagant amenities do they have? Let’s find out.

However, the yacht was sold to the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich within a year of its launch. As a new owner, Roman Abramovich made several modifications to the superyacht, which included adding a second helicopter pad.

The superyacht accommodates about a dozen of luxurious cabins for guests, two helipads, an entertainment hall, and a mini-submarine that can submerge up to 50 meters below the surface.
While it is clear that Eclipse is no ordinary superyacht, what makes it truly stand out from the rest is its military-styled missile defense system that detects and fires missiles at possible threats.
The yacht also features an ‘anti-photo shield’ for enhanced privacy. When activated, the shield detects a CCD sensor (closed coupled device) and fires a shot of laser in its direction to destroy any photographs. However, the effectiveness of such technology remains debatable .

Builder : Lürssen Owner : Dmitry Kamenshchik
The Flying Fox is a luxury yacht built by Germany’s Lürssen shipyard in 2019. It is perhaps the world’s largest and most expensive yacht available for charter. A week-long vacation on this superyacht would cost you about $4 million.

Like most modern superyachts, the Flying Fox is primarily centered around wellness and watersports themes. Moreover, it also carries a personal submarine that can be launched using a crane.
Often regarded as a ‘floating resort,’ the superyacht has guest suits, a two-level saloon space, a specialized gym, multiple fireplaces, and lots of greenery.
But perhaps its most eye-catching feature is the 12-meter deck pool with adjustable height floor, massage jets at one side, and swim jets at the other. Moreover, the yacht also carries a cryosauna which can help you emulate the post-workout endorphins rush.
Due to the sheer size and splendor of the Flying Fox, it was speculated that the yacht was owned by Jeff Bezos (the world’s richest person in 2019).
However, in 2022, it was revealed that the actual owner of the yacht is a Russian oligarch named Dmitry Kamenshchik.
The Flying Fox measures 136 meters in length and 9,022 gt in internal volume. It has a beam of 22.5 meters and a draft of 5.1 meters. It is currently the 22nd largest yacht in the world by length.

More To Know
How long it takes to build a superyacht.
The construction of a superyacht is usually done in four phases – planning or design, engineering, superstructure construction, and outfitting.
It takes about three to four years to build an entire custom superyacht. While it takes less time to construct a vessel on a pre-developed platform with standard elements, building a customized superyacht that caters to all your requirements takes more time. You also have to take unexpected delays into consideration.
The design or planning is the most critical phase in a superyacht construction. Considering the budget and specific requirements, the entire process could take between nine months and a year.
The Current International Market for Luxury Superyachts
The yacht industry is on the rise, and the demand for luxury superyachts has exploded in the last few years during soaring stock markets and crypto gains. Most of the demand is from the United States.
The global yacht industry is valued at $64 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach $84.7 Billion by 2027 growing at a CAGR of 4.1 percent.
According to Boat International’s Global Order Book, about 1,024 superyachts are under construction or on order globally in 2022. It is about a 25 percent increase from the last year’s 821 vessels.
A large chunk of these under-construction superyachts is semi-custom options that are relatively smaller in size than most superyachts on this list. Moreover, about 33 percent of these orders are some sort of expedition superyachts that can sail through ice and other remote regions of the world.

Multimillion-dollar mega yachts: Our ranking methodology
A superyacht or mega yacht is typically a motor yacht or sailing yacht with a length of 30 meters (100 feet) or more. For this ranking, we looked at the superyachts and luxury expedition mega yachts that are used privately or made available for charter. We excluded so-called ‘residential superyachts’ (think Njord and The World), which are essentially luxury apartment buildings at sea where people own private residences inside the superyacht rather than the whole yacht. By researching diverse, reliable sources like Wikipedia and the Superyacht Times, we compile a list of the largest yachts in the world.
Curious about other striking superlatives? Check our round-up of the most expensive cars in the world and the most expensive private jets in the world . They are both perfectly good alternatives to owning a yacht. And if you prefer to stay home, we’ve ranked the biggest homes and the most expensive houses in the world to give you some inspiration too.

Ever wonder where Jeff Bezos spends his downtime? As of today, we’re predicting it to be on his $500 million superyacht. Y721—nicknamed Koru—is 127m long. And featuring three sky-high slender masts, Koru is said to be the largest sailing yacht in the world .
With dark exteriors and natural wooden decks, Koru is inspired by another one of Bezos’ yachts—the Black Pearl. The clean lines and classically curved bow speak to an understated elegance despite the yacht’s mammoth size. While a long line of portals indicates at least 9 guest cabins. In light of all the secrecy surrounding Koru, we doubt Bezos will ever charter her out, but we can still dream.

![biggest most expensive yacht largest yachts yas - Luxe Digital](https://cdn.luxe.digital/media/20221025130309/largest-yachts-yas-luxe-digital-780x520.jpg)
Yas is known best for its seamless and rather unusual design — one that’s a little different from most superyachts out there. The owner of Yas wanted a yacht that lived up to his own heritage; one with a backbone reminiscent of the navy and with abstract lines throughout.
He chose an existing boat in Abu Dhabi, which was deconstructed within the region before being shipped off and renovated into the wonder that it is today. The Yas yacht was originally a Dutch navy frigate, which you’d never guess from strolling around onboard today.

Nord’s distinctive bow design has never been seen before on a yacht. That’s one of the first things you’ll notice about her. The next thing you’ll notice is her unusual design, which verges on battle-esque and has been called “ a warship wearing a tuxedo ” by Dan Lenard of the Italian design studio Nuvolari-Lenard.
She’s one of the best superyachts out there for fun, with a sports and diving center on the lower deck, a swimming pool higher up, overlooking the ocean, and a fleet of tenders. She was designed for global exploration: a yacht that will calmly cruise her way all across the world.

13. Sailing Yacht A | 469 feet—142.8m
Challenging the status quo and pushing design boundaries, Sailing Yacht A is an enigma. The sail-assisted superyacht was built in Germany and delivered to Russian tycoon Andrey Melnichenko in 2017. However, she was seized by the Italian police force, Guardia di Finanza, in 2022 after sanctions were placed on Russian businessmen following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Distinguished by soaring rotating carbon fiber masts, Nobiskrug’s hybrid approach to superyachts makes Sailing Yacht A more eco-conscious than other luxury yachts of her size. The u nderwater viewing pod molded into the keel speaks to her unrivaled innovation. And many balconies are enclosed by some of the largest pieces of curved glass ever made.

El Mahrousa had a few different names in her time, ranging from the translated “The Protected” to El Horreya, which in Arabic translates to “Freedom.” It’s not surprising that she’s had more than one name when you take into account her age. As the oldest superyacht in the world, she’s undergone a lot of restoration over time, including multiple lengthenings and faster engines.
She was renamed back to El Mahrousa in 2000 and gained even more recognition for being the first ship to cross the new Suez Canal extension in 2015. Back in her original days, she was built on the River Thames and took her first trip in 1867.

Delivered in Japan in 1982, OK is one of the largest and most unique superyachts in the world. Sprawling over 479 feet, the water giant is engineered to submerge almost seventy percent. This is accredited to the work done by Karmarine Shipyard. While the majority of the vessel was built by Oshima Shipping, it was privately converted to a semi-submersible yacht in Turkey.
The superlative finishing on OK superyacht was designed by Timur Bozca, winner of the Younger Designer of the Year award in 2015. The blueprint being as many games as possible. The extraordinary vessel has the uncanny ability to hold over seventy toys, including a sailing yacht, a sea plane, tenders, buggies and even a tennis court.

Like many of the most majestic water titans, Opera was delivered by Lurssen in Germany and built for Abu Dhabi royalty. This time, the owner is Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, son of the founder of the United Arab Emirates. And while it may not be quite as astronomical as Lurssen’s previous builds—Azzam, Blue and Dilbar—the streamlined vessel is equally impressive onboard.
The three-story superyacht proves large enough for a pair of helipads and two swimming pools, amongst many other toys, while simultaneously making room for up to 48 guests and 80 crew members. When it comes to the interior, details are sparse, but we do know that it was designed by Terence Disdale, a London firm renowned for creating bespoke luxury spaces.

The Prince Abdulaziz’s yacht was ordered by King Fahd, who named her after his son Prince Abdul Aziz. Now, she’s owned by his brother, Abdullah. Just one of the yachts owned by the Saudi royal family, she’s spotted frequently throughout Europe, especially in Cannes, where the royal family owns a property.
She’s been redecorated once — in 2007 — in a project that took 15 months to complete, without even taking into account the rest of the ship’s upkeep. The Prince Abdulaziz is known for its combination of bold colors and fusion of traditional and modern design, thanks to its influence from the late David Hicks.

What do you do when the name “A” is already taken for your superyacht? Choose the next closest thing: A+. Previously named Topaz, this superyacht was the world’s fourth-largest luxury yacht when she was built, before being stripped of that particular title only a few years later.
Nevertheless, she’s a seriously impressive superyacht, with endless facilities like a large jacuzzi, double helicopter landing pads, a swimming pool with a swimming platform and underwater lights, as well as a fitness hall, cinema, and a large conference room. She’s also well equipped with water toys, like jet skis, inflatable boats, a catamaran, and even a mini-submarine.

Another Superyacht built, shrouded in secrecy, Al-Said was referred to as “Project Sunflower” the entire time she was being created, right up until she was delivered to her owner in 2008. Not much is known about Al Said, from her movements through to her amenities — although she is known to have a huge concert room with space for a full 50-person orchestra.
Currently, she’s flying the flag of Oman and has spent a lot of time in its surrounding waters. Her interior was styled by British designer design house RWD, with exterior design being credited to Espen Oeino. When she was delivered to the Sultan of Oman, she replaced a previous ship of a smaller size.

Dilbar, or Project Omar, as it was originally known as, is another superyacht designed with the help of exterior expert Espen Oeino, but with interiors strikingly designed by Andrew Winch. Dilbar is famously known as the world’s largest yacht by gross tonnage (interior volume) but as the fifth-longest superyacht in the world.
She’s home to a spa pool and beach club, as well as a large private cinema, spacious cabins set high on the main deck, a spacious dining room, and a salon with its own piano. She’s just as classy and beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

Sunday blues simply cease to exist on one of the world’s most extravagant superyachts. The elegant behemoth was built for member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi and billionaire, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2022. Valued at over $600 million, Blue is one of the most expensive superyachts in the world. And with a strong emphasis on the environment, this superyacht is also one of the most sustainable.
Blue strives to be as environmentally friendly as possible. She is equipped with a highly efficient Diesel-Electric Hybrid Propulsion Concept developed by Lürssen’s own engineering specialists. And the wastewater treatment plant allows water to be disposed of in drinking water quality.

Dubai had multiple names in the planning stages—including Panhandle, Platinum, and Golden Star. Owned by the ruler of Dubai, it was aptly named after its home country and comes with all of the luxurious amenities you’d expect from such a name.
The Dubai comes complete with a huge swimming pool and two jacuzzis. Further down, you’ll find a large dining room with striking blue and burgundy decor and space for up to 90 guests. Dubai usually spends her time moored at Sheikh Mohammed’s private island in front of his summer palace in Dubai. She’s basically the definition of a floating palace.

![biggest most expensive yacht largest yachts eclipse - Luxe Digital](https://cdn.luxe.digital/media/20221025130209/largest-yachts-eclipse-luxe-digital-780x520.jpg)
It took around five years for Eclipse to be built from start to finish. While she was always designed to be a huge, luxurious Superyacht, the focus was more on decking it out appropriately rather than breaking any records. An award-winning superyacht, she’s incredibly spacious, with endless rooms to explore and a sleek, neutral color palette running through.
The Eclipse’s owner, Roman Abramovich, was more focused on facilities: he wanted more than one helicopter pad and a large swimming pool, too. Other than that, designer Terry Disdale had free reign for the rest of the superyacht. It’s just as much a clean piece of architectural styling as it is a stunning experience on deck.

Fulk Al Salamah translates to “Ship of Peace” and that’s something that sounds like a given when you’ve taken a look at this superyacht’s incredible layout. Developed under the codename Project Saffron, Fulk Al Salamah is more of a support vessel than she is a typical superyacht.
While she might still come complete with all of the necessities for a particularly relaxing voyage, she’s more so known for being a transport ship for the Royal Navy of Oman. She’s also used as a sort of friendship boat — pun intended — and is often sailed across the world with the intention of strengthening ties with the Sultanate. In some ports, influential people are welcomed onboard.

![biggest most expensive yacht largest yachts azzam - Luxe Digital](https://cdn.luxe.digital/media/20221025130141/largest-yachts-azzam-luxe-digital-780x520.jpg)
Most superyachts in the top 10 category have a few mere inches between sizes, but the Azzam shoots far ahead with a large amount of extra length. The largest superyacht in the world, she was never designed to win the title — rather just to be a sleek and elegant vessel. Azzam was crafted backward, with the plans for her interior confirmed long before her exterior was fully signed off.
Her length only came to be as such to incorporate everything required for the interiors, which added an extra 35 meters to her overall size. She’s also designed to look smaller than she actually is, with a blend of indoor and outdoor living. It took more than 4,000 people to build Azzam , clocking up six million man-hours over a period of four years.

The most expensive yacht in the world
The fact that the History Supreme, the world’s most expensive superyacht, comes coated in gold, is only part of the reason for its high cost. A superyacht with a real-life Midas touch, it was sold to an anonymous Malaysian businessman for $4.8 billion.
Robert Kuok, the richest Malaysian businessman, is the rumored owner of History Supreme, but no one has confirmed for sure. The History Supreme also comes with plenty of other impressive touches: a master bedroom decked out in platinum, a wall feature made from meteoric stone, and a genuine T-Rex dinosaur bone, to add to the list.
She took three years to build from scratch and comes with 10,000 kilograms of solid gold and platinum. Other seriously luxe features are her 68 kilograms 24-carat gold Aquavista Panoramic Wall Aquarium and a liquor bottle adorned with a rare 18.5-carat diamond . The base of the vessel comes wrapped in gold, too.

Though superyachts are already among the most costly consumer items available for purchase, the prices of the most expensive superyachts in the world are still astounding. In recent decades, those with money to burn have settled on these floating palaces as an ideal locus for demonstrating their prosperity, and as such, the global superyacht industry is undergoing a golden age. The world’s über-wealthy think of their superyachts as toys, and they’re constantly trying to outdo each other in scale, design, amenities, materials, and sheer profligacy.
Knowing this, what features does it take to own one of the most expensive superyachts in existence? And how much do these opulent vessels actually cost? To that end, AD has compiled a list of the five priciest superyachts currently out on the water. As with many things connected to the very wealthy, details are shrouded in secrecy—often intentionally—to protect privacy or to shield the assets from taxation or seizure. Below, dive into the five reportedly most expensive superyachts in the world.

5. Dubai ($400 million)
This 531-foot yacht is reportedly owned by United Arab Emirates Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai. Though it was originally planned for another Middle Eastern potentate, Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei, he suddenly voided the contract in 2001. With exteriors designed by Andrew Winch and interiors by Platinum Yachts, this German-built Blohm + Voss vessel features several Jacuzzis, a pool inlaid with handmade mosaic tiles that is reportedly large enough to hold 115 people, a circular staircase, a discotheque, squash courts, a movie theater, a dining room for 90 guests (the other 25 presumably have to eat in the pool?), a helipad, and a submarine.

4. Topaz ($527 million)
Resembling a stealth bomber, this 483-foot ship is reportedly owned by Russian fertilizer and coal oligarch, Andrey Melnichenko. With exteriors by Tim Heywood Design Ltd. and interior designs by Terence Disdale Design, this German-built Lürssen Yacht features a 2,500-square-foot primary bedroom, six guest suites (with moveable walls so they can be transformed into four grand staterooms), glassware and tableware fashioned from French crystal, a helicopter hangar, a 30-foot speedboat tender, and three swimming pools, including one with a glass-bottom dangling menacingly above a disco.

3. Azzam ($600 million)
This 590-foot ship is currently thought to be the largest private yacht in the world and one of the fastest, with a top speed of 35 miles per hour. To achieve this immense scale and speed, it required a pair of gas turbines and two stratospherically potent diesel engines, rendering it very difficult to build. It is reportedly owned by a member of the royal family of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. With exteriors by Nauta Yacht and interiors by French decorator Cristophe Leoni, this yacht was also built by Lürssen in Germany. The vessel is set apart by its early 19th-century empire-style veneered furniture, as well as its state-of-the-art security systems including a fully bulletproof primary suite and a high-tech missile deterrence capabilities.

2. Eclipse ($1.5 billion)
In addition to being the second-costliest, this 533-footer is thought to be the world’s second-largest private yacht. Owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the ship was claimed to be located in Turkey and may be impounded as part of the United Kingdom’s sanctions against Russia. Designed by Terry Disdale and built by Blohm + Voss, it features two-dozen guest cabins, two swimming pools, two helipads, and multiple hot tubs. For privacy and security reasons, it hosts a missile detection system, bulletproof windows in the primary bedroom and on the bridge, an anti-paparazzi shield and, when all of that fails, a mini-submarine that can take a few VIPs 164 feet under the ocean’s surface.

1. History Supreme ($4.8 billion)
History Supreme has never actually been seen in a major port, and rumors suggest that the yacht may not be real, and instead just a publicity stunt. Reportedly owned by Malaysia’s richest man, Robert Kuok, and designed by Stuart Hughes in the UK, the yacht is only a paltry 100 feet long. Its worth is said to be derived from its lavish finishes, including a statue constructed from genuine Tyrannosaurus rex bones, a liquor bottle embedded with an 18.5-carat diamond, and a primary bedroom with one wall made from meteorite and another from a 24-carat gold Aquavista Panoramic Wall Aquarium. Frequently Asked Questions
How much is Jeff Bezos’s yacht?
![biggest most expensive yacht Most Expensive Yachts](https://media.cntraveler.com/photos/6660d63432d132b3a3dbc0ab/master/w_1600%2Cc_limit/GettyImages-1820965192.jpg)
This is why people like Amazon founder Jeff Bezos work to keep their yachts out of the public eye. Though we are not including Jeff Bezos’s yacht, Koru (Maori for “coil”), in this list because it is a sailing yacht and thus excluded from the realm of these motor yachts, it created controversy in the Netherlands when its presence became known. Jeff Bezos’s abided the $500 million price tag of Oceanco, the Dutch custom yacht builder, to create the 417-foot megayacht. But when the company, at Bezos’s behest, requested that a local bridge be dismantled to make way for its gigantic mast on its journey from the shipyard, public sentiment turned against the cento-billionaire, and Oceano shelved its request. Maybe a port like Monaco would be more accommodating?
Who owns the largest private yacht?
Also not on this list is the world’s largest private yacht, reportedly owned by Alisher Usmanov. Though size and cost typically scale in the world of superyachts, this is not always the case (see #1 in this list.) Also, Somnio, the 728-feet dream-monikered yacht liner that tops our list of the world’s largest private yachts , isn’t quite done being constructed. And it is not, like most of the largest superyachts, privately owned by one individual or family—it’s a kind of floating condo, with 39 eight-figure homes available to potential owners solely by invitation.

The 25 Largest Yachts in the World
The list runs from lürssen's 592-foot 'azzam' to fincantieri 439-foot 'serene,' with a fascinating group of bespoke vessels in between..

![biggest most expensive yacht Top 25 Superyachts Now](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/MVLEAD.jpg?w=1024)
The new arrivals in 2024 knock the mighty 436.4-foot Al Mirqab and Koru , Jeff Bezos’s sailing yacht, off the list. The “smallest” yacht— Serene —measures a whopping 439.3 feet. A raft of behemoths didn’t make it, including Feadship’s 290-foot Project 821 that is launching this year, the largest build from the Dutch shipyard to date.
Two of Lürssen’s 2024 deliveries also fell short, including Project Deep Blue and Project JassJ. That said, the German yard remains top of the leader board with the immoveable 592.6-foot Azzam . It also claims 13 of the 25 world’s largest yachts, two of which are new entries.
The list is interesting because most were built in the last 15 years, but there are several historical yachts, including Savarona , launched in 1931, and El Mahrousa , launched in 1865, that withstand the test of time. Others like Yas and OK are conversions from other types of vessels. The inimitable A is a one-of-a-kind, never-to-be-repeated sailing superyacht.
Here are the world’s top 25 yachts by length.
Azzam | 592 feet, 6 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Lürssen Azzam](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/azzam_v2.jpg?w=300)
Lürssen could never really boast about Azzam after its launch in 2013 because of the owner’s penchant for privacy, though it did describe the interior by Christophe Leoni, which features a 95-foot-long main salon, as “inspired by the Empire style of the early 19th century.” Owner Mubarak Saad al Ahbabi directed a team of designers and engineers who started with the bare concept, worked through the technical challenges of what might be the most complex superyacht ever, and finished with an unusually large vessel that can top the 30-knot mark when operating in “sprint mode”. Its gas turbines, connected to water jets, also give it the ability to operate at high speed in shallow waters. Nauta Yacht’s exterior features a long, sleek forward area, with well-proportioned tiers moving up to the skydeck. It took an impressive six million man-hours—or four years including engineering—to build. Azzam accommodates up to 36 guests, and a crew of 80.
Fulk Al Salamah | 538 feet, 1 inch
![biggest most expensive yacht "Fulk Al Salamah," Mariotti Yachts](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/fulk_al_salama_yacht.jpg?w=300)
Little information has been released about the world’s second-longest superyacht, the custom-built Fulk Al Salamah , and it has been shrouded in mystery since it was first announced in 2014. Even the overall length of 538.1 feet has been estimated from AIS data. However, the imposing vessel, built and delivered by Italian builder Mariotti Yachts in their Genoa shipyard in 2016, is believed to be owned by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman. Last refit in 2021, the yacht has an exterior design by Studio de Jorio, and it is considered by some to resemble more of a support vessel than a superyacht. Nonetheless, aerial photography shows an impressively large helideck, raked masts, and a bathing platform.
Eclipse | 533 feet, 1 inch
![biggest most expensive yacht Superyacht Eclipse](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/RR_Eclipse.jpg?w=300)
The 533.1-foot stately Eclipse , one of two yachts on this list owned by sanctioned billionaire Roman Abramovich, took five years to design and build. When it left the Blohm+Voss shipyard in Hamburg in 2010, it was the world’s largest yacht. The interior has 17 staterooms and a palatial primary suite, with the capacity to carry 85 crew. Both the interior and exterior are designed by Terence Disdale. A proportional profile is defined by tiered decks that sweep upward and bend ever so slightly at the aft ends. Eclipse has a 185-foot-long owner’s deck, the capacity to hold three helicopters, a sophisticated stabilization system, six tenders, and an enormous spa, gym and beach club, not to mention one of the largest swimming pools on any superyacht. Hybrid diesel-electric engines are connected to Azipod drives that give Eclipse a top-end speed of 21 knots, with a range of 6,000 nautical miles.
Dubai | 531 feet, 5 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht DUBAI UAE - DEC 16: Dubai - yacht of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum the ruler of the Emirate of Dubai. December 16 2014 in Dubai UAE](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/edit-bigstockphotos-dubai-yacht-of-the-sheikh-al-82070471.jpg?w=300)
Even at 531.5 feet, Dubai ’s all-white Winch-designed exterior belies the dramatic and vibrant interior within. Colorful mosaic floors, a spiraling glass staircase, 70-foot-wide atrium, and bursts of red, blue, and green create a carnival of scene. Originally commissioned for Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei as a joint project between Blohm+Voss and Lürssen . Known as “Panhandle,” the project was halted in 1998 with just a bare hull and skeletal superstructure. The hull was sold to the government of Dubai, and, under the direction of the country’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, work on the 531.5-footer began again, though this time by Platinum Yachts. Dubai delivered in 2006 and is now the sheikh’s royal yacht, with accommodations for 24 guests and quarters for 88 crew. The SOLAS-certified seven-decked yacht has a landing pad for a Black Hawk helicopter, submarine garage, disco and cinema, and can reach a top speed of 26 knots. There’s also a waterfall that cascades from the yacht’s pool, located aft of the main deck. The yacht’s range of 8,500 nm at 25 knots gives it the potential to cruise around the world in record time.
Blue | 518 feet, 3 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Lürssen Superyacht Blue](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Lurssen_Blue1.jpg?w=300)
Lürssen’s newest entry on the list, Blue , which delivered to its Middle Eastern owner in July 2022, may rank at number five out of the world’s largest yachts, but its diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system goes a long way to minimize emissions. The yacht also features an electric Azimuth pod drive that can be used independently or in conjunction with the twin propeller shafts. There is a waste-water treatment system and an advanced exhaust treatment system to help reduce NOx levels, as well as cut down on vibration and noise pollution. Interior and exterior design is by Terence Disdale, Blue is defined in profile by a raked bow with a helipad, an aft deck pool, and twin balconies forward either side of the owner’s full-beam suite. There is a second, smaller helipad aft. The British designer has reportedly penned a feminine and elegant interior, though no images have yet been released.
Dilbar | 511 feet, 8 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Espen Øino Dilbar yacht](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/espenoinoyachts-dilbar2.jpg?w=300)
The 2016 launch of Dilbar gave Lürssen the distinction of not only building the longest yacht ever ( Azzam ), but also the largest in terms of volume. Espen Øino designed the exterior, creating a full-bodied superstructure of long, flowing decks, along with two helicopter pads, two helicopter pads, one of which has a hangar with an H175 helicopter always on standby. Dilbar also has an oversized garden and an 82-foot swimming pool that can hold an incredible 6,357-cubic-feet of water and according to Lürssen, is the world’s longest on a yacht. The interior by Winch Design is defined by its “rare and exclusive luxury materials,” says the builder, declining to go into detail. Despite Dilbar ’s volume, the designers did a masterful job making the yacht look relatively svelte. In June 2020, Dilbar returned to Lürssen for a significant refit, where the yacht remains following U.S. sanctions placed on the owner, Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov, in 2022. The yacht’s value is estimated to be $600 million.
Al Saïd | 508 feet, 5 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Al Said measures 508'5" and was built by Lurssen Yachts](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/3.-Screen-Shot-2023-01-20-at-5.20.06-AM.jpg?w=300)
Another 500-plus-foot yacht from Lürssen, the original Project Sunflower gained its official name of Al Saïd following its launch in 2016. Espen Øino’s exterior is akin to a classic cruise liner, complete with the twin-exhaust stacks in the center of the superstructure. Owned by the Sultan of Oman, the yacht was listed for the sale for the first time in April 2022 for an undisclosed sum, but a buyer has yet to be confirmed. The six-decked Al Saïd can carry 154 crew and an estimated 70 guests across 26 suites. Lürssen reports a top speed of 22 knots. The London-based Redman Whiteley Dixon studio designed the interior, which includes a concert hall that can hold a 50-piece orchestra, a private cinema for 50 people; you’ll also find a medical room and dental care on board.
A+ | 483 feet, 1 inch
![biggest most expensive yacht Lürssen Topaz largest yachts in the world](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/edit-topaz_14725m.jpg?w=300)
Very little is known about A+ (formerly Topaz) , which was launched by Lürssen in 2012. Tim Heywood Designs did the exterior, which features helipads on the foredeck and amidships on an upper deck. A lower aft deck includes a swimming pool. The German yard has not released any images of the Terence Disdale interior. Reported to be owned by Manchester City Football Club owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan—Emirati royalty and deputy prime minister of the UAE— A+ is equipped with a 40-foot Vikal catamaran beachlander and is powered by six Wärtsilä engines to reach a top speed of 22 knots. It can carry 62 guests and up to 79 crew and was last refit in 2022.
Prince Abdulaziz | 482 feet, 3 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Prince Abdulaziz](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/RR_Prince_Abdulaziz.jpg?w=300)
The 5,200-tonne Prince Abdulaziz is one of the Saudi Royal family’s yachts, its first owner being King Fahd. Designed by Maierform, the yacht was the longest and tallest in the world at the time of its launch, a title the 482.3-foot Prince Abdulaziz held for 22 years until Dubai launched in 2006. The late David Nightingale Hicks, known for his use of bright colors, was the interior designer. The lobby is said to be a replica of the Titanic . The yacht is also rumored to be carrying surface-to-air missiles, though that may be an urban legend. Launched by Helsingør Værft in Denmark in 1984, it was last refit in 2023.
OK | 479 feet
![biggest most expensive yacht Ohima Shipbuilding's OK](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/OK.jpg?w=300)
Originally built by Japan’s Oshima Shipbuilding in 1982, the semisubmersible heavy lift ship was used for decades by DYT Yacht Transport as float-on yacht carrier. In 2022, the vessel underwent a private conversion at Karmarine shipyard in Turkey, turning it into a luxury, though highly unusual, yacht named OK . Modifications include a matte-black paint job, gold-tinted glazing, and teak decking. The vessel’s 328-foot submersible aft deck—a feature that first attracted her new owner, who uses OK to transport their 150-foot ketch—is now covered in a carpet of artificial grass. A 40-tonne crane allows for the safe and easy launch and retrieval of a vast range of toys, including a seaplane. The interior by Bozca Design is reported to include accommodation for 20 guests, a botanical garden, and a crazy Willy Wonka–inspired glass elevator that operates outside of the yacht’s superstructure.
Opera | 479 feet
![biggest most expensive yacht Lürssen Yacht Opera](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/2.-Opera-04.jpg.jpg?w=300)
Very little is known about Lürssen’s mysterious superyacht Opera , though it’s thought to be a rebuild of Project Sassi, which was destroyed in a fire in 2018 at the German shipyard. Now four feet longer than the first iteration, the superyacht became the 11th largest yacht in the world when it delivered to its patient owner in 2023. Exterior and interior designed by Terence Disdale, Opera has a whopping 66-foot beam and an interior volume exceeding 10,000GT. No interior images have been released yet, though judging by its two swimming pools, one with a lifting floor, and two helipads—one on the bow and one on the upper aft deck—it seems no expense has been spared.
El Mahrousa | 478 feet, 1 inch
![biggest most expensive yacht "El Mahrousa" Yacht, Samuda Brothers](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/el_mahrousa.jpg?w=300)
El Mahrousa , which means “The Protected” in Arabic, is currently Egypt’s presidential yacht, though the 478.1-footer has a separate history as that country’s royal yacht. The London-based Samuda Brothers began the build in 1863, and it was launched in 1865. The world’s oldest superyacht—and formerly the world’s biggest—was originally built for the Ottoman governor of Egypt, Khedive Ismail, and later carried three Egyptian kings into exile. The yacht was also at the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869. It features external design by the British naval architect Sir Oliver Lang and has had multiple modifications over the years, including a lengthening by 40 feet in 1872 and another 17 feet in 1905. During the second refit, the owners replaced its paddle-wheel engines with turbine-driven propellers. The yacht, in care of the Egyptian Navy, occasionally goes to sea for a day or two. In 2015, it was used to inaugurate the new Suez Canal.
Project Luminance | 475 feet, 7 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Superyacht Lumaniance](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/2.-Luminance_Carl-Groll_27.04.2023-1.jpg?w=300)
Delivered in 2024, Project Luminance (the real name is yet to be confirmed) is Lürssen’s newest entry on the list. Exterior designed by Espen Øino, the yacht has a raked bow, a contrasting paint job in a dark blue hull and silver superstructure and a whopping 8,999 gross tons of interior volume. Few details are yet known about the gigayacht owned by Ukrainian mining and financial services mogul Rinat Akhmetov, including the interior by Francois Zuretti, but aerial shots reveal twin helicopter pads—one on the foredeck and another high up aft—a large beach club, and an infinity pool, with a private spa pool area on the foredeck.
A | 468 feet, 5 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Nobiskrug sailing yacht A.](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/nobiskrug-a.jpg?w=300)
Undoubtedly one of the most visionary projects ever delivered by German shipyard Nobiskrug, the Philippe Starck-designed A is a wild fantasy of the future. Delivered in 2017, the futuristic look of sailing yacht A includes smooth, silver-metallic surfaces and windows that look nearly invisible, a 26-foot draft, three composite masts that bend slightly, and a deck hidden by high bulwarks. The Philippe Starck–design is a wild fantasy yacht of the future. The 468-foot sailing yacht is a technical victory for Nobiskrug , which developed composite fashion plates to create the unusual shapes without compromising any strength or fluidity. It has the tallest freestanding composite masts on any sailing vessel, a diesel-electric propulsion system, and state-of-the-art navigation systems. The boat also reportedly has an underwater viewing platform in the keel. Starck’s traditional interior features dark wood, copper accents, and cozy patterned carpets. The split-deck main salon is divided into zoned seating areas with integrated bookshelves. A remains today the world’s largest sailing yacht six years after its launch, though many argue it is better defined as a sail-assisted yacht.
Nord | 466 feet
![biggest most expensive yacht Lürssen OPUS Launch](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/opus.jpg?w=300)
Nord was announced in 2015 but didn’t hit the water until its 2020 sea trials in the Baltic Sea. The 466-foot yacht features interior design by Italian studio Nuvolari Lenard and was Lürssen’s first yacht launched from its floating shed at its facility in Vegasack. Boasting top-tier amenities, the yacht includes a sports and diving center on the lower deck, multiple tenders ranging in size up to 50 feet and a large swimming pool. The two helipads support the yacht’s long-range cruising capabilities for autonomous exploration, and a retractable hangar means a helicopter can slide neatly into the superstructure for storage when not in use. A generous 20 staterooms accommodate 36 guests across six decks, while a sleek aft-sloping superstructure gives Nord an individual profile on the water.
Yas | 462 feet, 6 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Superyacht Yas in Barcelona](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/yas_harvey-barrison-.jpg?w=300)
As a converted yacht, Yas is one of the most interesting vessels on this list. The dolphin-like exterior was originally a former Dutch Navy frigate that launched in 1978 and eventually sold to the navy of the United Arab Emirates, where it was renamed Al Emirat . The yacht underwent its dramatic conversion in a facility in Abu Dhabi’s main port, emerging as a gleaming superyacht in 2011, with one of the most interesting profiles on the water. It was eventually delivered four years later. Reportedly owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed al Nahyan, half-brother of the president of the UAE, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the design by Paris-based Pierrejean Vision is defined by massive glass surfaces. Yas can accommodate 60 guests and 58 crew members. Mated to a steel hull, the superstructure is the largest composite edifice ever built.
Solaris | 459 feet, 3 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Russian oligarchs yachts continued to be seized](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/2.-Solaris-Lloyd-Werft.jpg?w=300)
Owned by Russian businessman Roman Abramovich, the 476-foot Solaris was one of the largest yachts to deliver in 2021. Last refit in 2022 at MB92 in Barcelona, the vast, highly private explorer is built by German shipyard Lloyd Werft and features a displacement steel hull with bulbous bow and steel superstructure with teak decks. The eight-deck exterior by Australian designer Marc Newson houses a large helipad, sundeck, spacious beach club aft and 21,527 square feet of glass, the largest panes to ever be built into a yacht. Lloyd Werft also built the Russian billionaire’s previous explorer yacht Luna , which he reportedly sold for $360 million to his close friend Farkhad Akhmedov in 2014.
Ocean Victory | 459 feet, 3 inches

The largest motoryacht ever built in Italy, Fincantieri’s Ocean Victory is owned by Russian billionaire Viktor Rashnikov, who was sanctioned in 2022. The seven-deck exterior by Espen Øino includes two helideck platforms and a hangar belowdecks, as well as exceptional outdoor social areas and a floodable tender dock. Ocean Victory has accommodations for 28 guests as well as quarters for 56 crew. The interior by Alberto Pinto remains a secret, aside from the yacht’s six pools, a 3,300-square-foot spa, and an underwater observation room.
Scheherazade | 459 feet, 3 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Russian oligarchs yachts continued to be seized](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/file-Scheherazade.jpg?w=300)
The 459.3-foot, Lürssen-built Scheherazade (formerly known as Project Lightning) was delivered in June 2020, with exterior design by Espen Øino and interior design by Francois Zuretti. Two helipads, forward and aft, and a large beach club aft are visible from aerial photographs, but aside from the yacht’s reported seven-foot beam, 40 crew and unique drone-crashing system for privacy, further details have not yet been released. The reason may lie with the yacht’s unofficial owner, believed to be Russian president Vladimir Putin. In May 2022, Italian authorities froze Scheherazade in the port of Marina di Carrara following an investigation conducted by Italian financial police who found the ship’s beneficial owner had “significant economic and business ties” to high-ranking Russian government officials, though the results of the investigation to date remain inconclusive.
Al Salamah | 456 feet
![biggest most expensive yacht Lürssen Al Salamah gigayacht](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lurssen-al-salamah_139-m.jpg?w=300)
When Lürssen launched Al Salamah in 1999, it was the third-largest yacht in the world. Its number 20 ranking shows how much has changed in the last 20 years. Code-named MIPOS, or Mission Possible, the yacht was designed by Terence Disdale . Originally owned by Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the yacht was put up for sale for $280 million in in 2013 before it was reportedly given to Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa as a gift. The large imposing exterior is primarily protected space, with an upper deck exposed to the elements. Al Salamah has staterooms for 40 guests, including two owner suites, 11 VIP staterooms, and eight twin cabins. The yacht can carry up to 96 crew and has a top speed of 22 knots. Al Salamah was last refitted in 2009.
Rising Sun | 454 feet, 1 inch
![biggest most expensive yacht Lürssen Rising Sun superyacht](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lurssen-rising-sun-.jpg?w=300)
Designed by the original guru of yacht designers, Jon Bannenberg, Rising Sun was built by Lürssen for Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and is currently owned by billionaire David Geffen, who reportedly paid $590 million for the yacht. The yacht comes with a gym, a grand piano, multiple swimming pools, a beauty salon, and a spa with a sauna. Delivered in 2004 and last refit in 2022, the yacht’s exterior is defined by banks of windows across the superstructure. Rising Sun has 86,000 square feet of living space in 82 rooms. It can accommodate 18 guests in nine cabins, with the capacity to carry up to 46 crew. The interior by Seccombe Design includes a gym, cinema, and wine cellar, and the rear cockpit deck was designed as a basketball court. Geffen received global media backlash in 2020 for his “tone deaf” social-media posts that pictured himself on board his yacht during Covid-19 lockdown.
Flying Fox | 446 feet, 2 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Lürssen's Flying Fox superyacht.](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/flying-fox-1.jpg?w=300)
The 446.2-foot Flying Fox is arguably the most high-profile yacht on this list, primarily for being the largest yacht available on the charter market. In 2022, it was also singled out as “blocked property” by U.S. authorities in 2022 due to its previous management Imperials Yachts, which was on the US sanctions list. The yacht’s owner, however, Russian billionaire Dmitry Kamenshchik, is not sanctioned, so the yacht was turned over to him and returned to charter in 2024. Key features of the Espen Øino-designed exterior are a curvaceous dove-gray hull and a 3.7-foot swimming pool that runs athwartship on the main aft deck, the largest ever found on board a yacht. A two-decked spa also gives guests access to a cryosauna, hammam, and relaxation room with a fold-down balcony at sea level. Packed to the rafters with the latest amenities, the yacht holds a diving center, a decompression chamber, and two helipads. Flying Fox is PYC compliant and can accommodate 25 guests.
Savarona | 446 feet, 2 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Savarona superyacht 25 top yachgts](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Savarona-2021-07-27-at-12.51.27-PM.jpg?w=300)
Launched in 1931, and by far the largest and fastest private yacht of her day, Savarona was built for American heiress Emily Roebling Cadwalader and is easily identified by its two mustard-colored funnels. The yacht was eventually acquired by Turkey to be the presidential yacht of Kemal Atatürk, founder of modern Turkey. Jane’s Fighting Ships described the yacht in 1949 as “probably the most sumptuously fitted yacht afloat.” Savarona was later converted to a training ship for the Turkish Navy and, in 1978, destroyed by fire. The yacht laid in tatters for 10 years. A Turkish businessman spent around $45 million refurbishing Savarona , commissioning Donald Starkey for the interior and replacing the original steam-turbine engines with modern Caterpillar diesels. Savarona became Turkey’s official presidential yacht again in 2014, accommodating up to 34 guests in 17 suites and carrying up to 48 crew. Amenities include a swimming pool, a Turkish bath, a 280-foot grand staircase, a movie theater and a library dedicated to Atatürk.
Crescent | 443 feet
![biggest most expensive yacht Lürssen Crescent superyacht Larry Ellison](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lürssen-crescent-.©klaus-jordan.jpg?w=300)
Last refit in 2021, Espen Øino’s dark hull and tiered superstructure was one of the most exciting launches of 2018. Called Project Thunder internally at Lürssen, the custom-built yacht features cutouts along the hull sides that allow full ocean views from the saloon on the primary deck, as part of Crescent ’s distinctive curved superstructure. Its most noteworthy feature is the jaw-dropping bank of three-deck-high windows in the center of the yacht. This architectural feature serves as the centerpiece of a very compelling design. The yacht has accommodations for 18 guests in nine staterooms. Little is known about the François Zuretti-designed interior, other than Lürssen describing it as being “traditionally styled.” If it lives up to Crescent ’s brash exterior, the complete yacht promises to be an entirely groundbreaking design. In March 2022, Crescent was detained by Spain as property of Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin, who is sanctioned in connection with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Serene | 439 feet, 3 inches
![biggest most expensive yacht Fincantieri Serene superyacht](https://robbreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/fincantieri-serene-.jpg?w=300)
Serene is the yacht that launched Fincantieri into the superyacht segment, and what a debut it was. The largest yacht ever launched in Italy when it was delivered in 2011 (surpassed three years later by Ocean Victory ), the Espen Øino seven-deck design features a long, sleek blue hull crowned by a white superstructure. Pascale Reymond of Reymond Langton Design created the 43,056-square-foot interior for a Russian owner, which includes a double height atrium with a piano lounge at the top and a vast open-plan main salon below. Sunken LEDs and bright pink and purple neon lights create a modern party vibe in the social areas, which contrast with the elaborate yet more traditional guest suites. A spiral staircase with intricate metal banisters soars through the heart of the yacht. The open stern area has a winter garden (enclosed glasshouse) that allows dining in all seasons. Serene also has two helipads and a hangar, a big swimming pool, and a tender garage large enough for a submarine.

One of the newest ships on this list, Crescent was built by Lurssen in 2018 and is just less than 445 feet long. This sleek ship's exteriors were designed by French yacht design firm Zuretti and its interiors by Monaco's Espen Oenio. It can house up to 18 guests and 24 crew and features a two-level glass atrium, a helicopter hangar, and a glass-bottomed pool.
Prince Abdulaziz
This stunning megayacht is part of the Saudi family's royal fleet of yachts. It was built in 1984 at 482 feet, making it the largest yacht built in the 20th century, and held the spot as world's largest until Dubai was launched in 2006. Its interiors took 15 months alone to craft under the direction of the one-and-only David Hicks, who designed the space to suit 64 guests and 65 crew. The yacht is used for both business and pleasure and is rumored to house missiles and an underwater surveillance system.
This 416-foot megayacht was the passion project of Microsoft's cofounder Paul Allen and is currently owned by his wife, Jody Allen. The groundbreaking exploration yacht has the ability to travel to the world's mot remote and otherwise inaccessible locations. It was built by Lurssen in 2013 with exterior design by Espen Oenio and interiors by Seattle-based yacht designer Jonathan Quinn Barnett, housing 26 guests and 63 crew. A spa, library, multiple lounges, alfresco dining spaces, and a basketball court are just the beginning of Octopus's array of amenities.
Al Mirqab was built in 2008 by Peters Schiffbau and is owned by Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, who is Qatar royalty, a businessman, and a politician. Its exteriors were designed by Kusch Yachts and its award-winning interiors by Winch Design. Al Mirqab measures 437 feet and houses up to 60 guests and crew each. The yacht features a grand staircase with sides made from hand-cut crystal panels, cinema, spa, beach club and a lower deck swimming pool that can be opened up to the sea.
Launched in 2012, the yacht formerly known as Topaz stretches 483.1 feet long and reaches speeds up to 19.5 knots. And with interiors by the renowned Terrence Disdale , you know this behemoth is as spectacular on the inside as its exterior. It’s equipped with an on-deck Jacuzzi, double helicopter landing pad, swimming pool, fitness center, cinema room, and a snazzy conference room. A+ is reportedly owned by Sheikh Mansour, deputy prime minister of the UAE, and can accommodate up to 62 guests and 79 crew members.
One of the world’s largest “gigayachts”—measuring a whopping 456 feet—is also one of the newest, as it is currently undergoing trials in the Baltic Sea. This sleek structure, formerly known as Opus and Project Redwood, technically launched in January 2019 but came back to Lurssen for more fine tuning and upscale additions. The interiors and exterior are both by Nuvolari Lenard , and the yacht will reportedly sleep up to 36 guests. Some of the ultra-fabulous amenities include a beach club, fitness center, spa and sauna, Jacuzzi, swimming pool, elevator, two helipads, and an impressive study.
Katara was launched in 2010 and measures 408.2 feet long and reaches speeds up to 20 knots. The yacht’s interiors were reportedly done by Alberto Pinto and comfortably accommodate 34 guests and 95 crew members. Much of Katara remains a mystery, but we do know it belongs to either the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, or Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al-Thani, chairman of the Katara Hospitality Group, and docks in the city of Dohu. Katara also reportedly has its own beach club with sea terraces.
Savarona is the oldest yacht on this list, as it was originally launched in 1931 and refitted in 1999. The 446-foot yacht boasts interiors by Donald Starkey, room to sleep 34 guests and 48 crew, and luxe amenities, like ample spa facilities, a spacious study, oversize media room, and plenty of fabulous deck space for lounging.

World's Top 10 Most Expensive Superyachts
Posted: July 2, 2024 | Last updated: July 2, 2024
Forget mansions and supercars; you could see any of those on a good day. The ultimate symbol of wealth is superyachts cruising on the waves. These aren’t Grandpa’s fishing boats. We’re talking floating palaces with jacuzzis, helicopter pads, and movie theaters that host celebrities and billionaires. The price tag to own one and the eye-watering cost of keeping it fueled and afloat could buy a fleet of luxury cars! In a list where the top three are worth over $2 billion combined, find ten of the most expensive yachts worldwide.
Pelorus ($200 Million)
Imagine cruising the ocean on its Owner’s Suite with a captivating horizon-to-horizon view. Besides the jacuzzi, gym, and cinema, this 377-foot beauty has a helipad, a tender garage, and several smaller boats. When Lürssen, Tim Heywood, and Terence Disdale delivered the Pelorus, it was one of the largest yachts worldwide. She can accommodate over 20 guests in 12 cabins with enough room for a crew of 46 aboard all year round. Roman Abramovich first owned the Pelorus before Chinese billionaire and property magnate Samuel Tak Lee bought the vessel years later.
Radiant ($300 million)
Lürssen Yacht originally built the Radiant for Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky, with Tim Heywood Design Ltd. and Terence Disdale Design handling the exterior and interior, respectively. However, he could not complete the payments due to financial difficulties, and Emirati billionaire Abdulla Al Futtaim snatched it up in 2010. This 360-foot vessel has a sleek design with an aluminum superstructure and teak-laid decks. Befitting her status as a superyacht, Radiant has multiple decks for relaxation and entertainment, a touch-and-go helipad, a cinema, garages for storing smaller boats, and a high-power water cannon for defense.
Motor Yacht A ($440 Million)
With famed designer Philippe Starck handling the design of this 390-foot superyacht, Blohm+Voss built it before its delivery in 2008. You’d instantly recognize this masterpiece with its upside-down bow and minimalist superstructure. The Motor Yacht A has a 2,500-square-foot master bedroom, a glass-bottomed swimming pool, a disco, a 30-foot speedboat, and a helicopter hangar. The MY A is currently owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko.
A+ aka Topaz ($450 Million)
After Lürssen built the A+, they launched it as Topaz in 2012. This masterpiece can comfortably accommodate up to 52 guests in 26 extravagant staterooms, plus a crew and staff of 79 for unparalleled service during voyages. Thanks to twin Wärtsilä Diesel Electric engines, the A+ has an impressive range of up to 5,000 nautical miles with a top speed of 19 knots (22 mph). This 482-foot yacht is currently owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nayan, the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.
Serene ($500 million)
Built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri, Serene spans a staggering 439 feet to become one of the world’s largest private superyachts. While Espen Oeino International worked on the exterior, Reymond Langton Design styled an interior design that earned it a decent reputation for luxury and unique features. Besides its outdoor movie hall, it reportedly has a snow and steam room, a submarine, and a helipad that converts into a dance floor or pool. The Serene, previously owned by Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler and chartered by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, is currently in the possession of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.
Dubai ($500 million)
The Dubai yacht is a floating masterpiece that ranks among the largest yachts in the world. It reportedly requires a crew of over 80 to maintain its smooth operation and cater to the needs of its guests. This massive 532-foot superyacht was initially a collaborative project by German shipyards Blohm+Voss and Lürssen for Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei. However, Sheikh Mohammed, the Ruler of Dubai, bought the vessel after Platinum Yachts completed the project. It has several luxurious amenities, including a disco, a swimming pool with elaborate handmade tiling, two jacuzzis, and a helipad.
Al Said ($600 million)
This majestic vessel, initially commissioned by Qaboos bin Said Al-Said, the then Sultan of Oman, reflects the grandeur of Omani palaces. At 508 feet, this floating palace can accommodate about 70 guests in luxurious suites with a crew of over 150 to ensure smooth running. It also has a concert hall large enough to accommodate a 50-piece orchestra. Lürssen crafted the Al Said with Espen Oeino International, handling the exterior design, and British design house RWD styling the interior.
Azzam ($600 Million)
Although Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, commissioned the Azzam before passing in 2022, his successor, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, now owns the vessel. Its construction involved a team of 4,000 people, working for over four years and clocking up about six million person-hours. The engineers installed a missile defense system and bullet-proof master suite for top-notch security. They also added an unusually shallow draft of 4.3 meters (14 feet 1 inch), allowing it to cruise in shallower waters compared to other superyachts. Thanks to its twin gas turbine General Electric (LM2500 +G4) 40,200hp engines, the 590-feet yacht can reach 25 knots (28 mph).
Eclipse ($700 Million)
We’ve seen some magnificent yachts, but this 533-foot beauty designed by Blohm+Voss takes the gold-encrusted cake. When Roman Abramovich, a Russian-Israeli businessman and politician, owner of Millhouse Capital LLC, and former owner of Chelsea Football Club, bought this yacht, it was the most expensive worldwide. Besides the two swimming pools and helipads, it reportedly has extensive security features such as an intruder system, missile detection, armor plating, bullet-proof windows, and an anti-paparazzi shield with laser beams.
Dilbar ($750 Million)
Imagine enjoying the ocean view when a 512-foot yacht, the length of two football fields, appears. This stunning vessel, named after the owner’s mother, Dilbar Usmanova, features one of the largest indoor pools (82 feet) ever seen on a yacht. With two helipads, a lavish interior, and top-notch amenities designed by Winch Design, its high price tag is justified. The yacht, owned by a company held in a trust settled by Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov, who amassed his wealth in metal and mining, was seized by German authorities in 2022 as part of sanctions following the invasion of Ukraine. As of now, it remains in German custody.

The 8 Athletes With the Most Expensive Superyachts, From Michael Jordan to Rafael Nadal
- Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below
The exorbitant sums professional athletes are paid mean they can afford to splash out on flashy toys. Some splash out a little more than others, though. These eight sportsmen, for example, spent more money on superyachts than all their competitors, according to Boats For Sale CEO Mike Green.
Green has ranked the most expensive yachts owned by sports stars today, showing exactly how much the eight gents were willing to pay for a private oasis at sea. Former boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. topped the list, forking out $200 million for his knockout superyacht. Basketball legend Michael Jordan and pro golfer Tiger Woods landed in second and third place, paying $80 million and $15 million for their yachts, respectively. UFC champ Conor McGregor ranked last but still shelled out $3.6 million for his Tecnomar speed machine.

“Elite athletes often seek the pinnacle of quality and performance, so, when they buy yachts, they’re looking for vessels that match their success and lifestyle, featuring the latest in design, technology, and comfort,” Green said in a statement. “These high-profile purchases not only reflect their personal achievements but also set trends in the luxury market.”
Below are the eight athletes with the priciest superyachts.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.: Unnamed, $200 Million
Boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s unnamed behemoth reportedly cost him a punchy $200 million. The 15-time world champion, fittingly nicknamed “Money,” shared a series of snaps of himself on the superyacht via Instagram in 2023, adding the caption “I’m the Yacht Master [sic] and I ain’t talking about a Rolex.” Very little is known about the vessel itself, but it is rumored to have several bedrooms, a cinema room, and a sizeable swimming pool. Mayweather’s pics show the yacht has an enviable swim platform and sun-soaked foredeck, too.
Michael Jordan: ‘Joy,’ $80 Million
Basketball icon Michael Jordan owns, not one, not two, but three luxurious superyachts. His most expensive vessel is a 230-footer named Joy . Delivered by Feadship in 2016, the custom cruiser was designed to meet the owner’s brief to “create something totally different to every other yacht,” according to the Dutch yard. It is the first superyacht to feature an exterior design by Bannenberg & Rowell and the first Feadship with an interior by Studio Indigo. Highlights include a bar, a state-of-the-art gym, a Jacuzzi, and a basketball court, naturally. Joy reportedly set the former Chicago Bulls player back $80 million. As for Jordan’s other two yachts, Mr Terrible reportedly cost $21 million, while Catch 23 was priced at $7 million.
Tiger Woods: ‘Privacy,’ $15 Million
Pro golfer Tiger Woods purchased the 155-foot Privacy at the height of his fame in 2004, shelling out $15 million for the custom superyacht. Built by the now-defunct U.S. yard Christensen, the tri-deck vessel is equipped with everything from a Jacuzzi and gym to a decompression chamber for diving. Woods reportedly went to North Carolina’s Fort Bragg military base in 2009 to spend a week training with the Marines to become a master scuba diver.
Tony Parker: ‘Infinity Nine,’ $15 Million
NBA star Tony Parker reportedly gave himself a $15 million explorer for Thanksgiving in 2022. Built by Turkish yard AvA Yachts, the 114-foot Infinity Nine has a range of 6,500 miles, enabling Parker to cruise from his San Antonio home across the Atlantic and nearly back again. The yacht is also tough enough to withstand arctic weather and conditions, despite not being “ice-classed.” Other highlights include a large beach club, a sky-high Jacuzzi, multiple alfresco dining areas, and a full arsenal of water toys.
Cristiano Ronaldo: ‘CG Mare,’ $6.9 Million
Soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly scored a legendary Azimut Grande for $6.9 million in 2020. The custom 88-footer, known as CG Mare , features five luxurious cabins for up to 10 guests, meaning there is plenty of space for the Portuguese forward, his wife, and five children. In addition, the yacht features a Jacuzzi, an outdoor cinema, a plush foredeck lounge, and a lavish outdoor bar. The footballer and his family have previously been spotted cruising in Sardinia. It seems like 22 years on the field has paid off.
Tom Brady: ‘Viva a Vida,’ $6 Million
Tom Brady can now live a life of luxury aboard the 55-foot Viva la Vida . The retired NFL star reportedly purchased his elegant, blue-hulled Wajer 55S for $6 million in 2021. Viva a Vida is named after the charity of Brady’s ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, but the Spanish phrase also means “long live life” or “live the life.” Brady can live a thrilling life, too: Powered by three 435 hp Volvo Penta engines, the yacht has a top speed above 40 knots. Wajer previously told Robb Report that Brady’s was only the fourth 55S model in the U.S.
Rafael Nadal : ‘Great White,’ $5.4 Million
Tennis star Rafael Nadal shelled out $5.4 million for an ace Sunreef catamaran in 2018. The fully custom Sunreef 80 Power, which the Spaniard christened Great White , combines five-star comfort with exceptional seaworthiness. It is also the only multihull on this list, with two hulls that provide more stability and buoyancy than the traditional monohull. In addition, the cat is equipped with two 1,200 hp engines that enable a top speed of 24 knots or cruise speed of 14 knots. The centerpiece is the owner’s stateroom, which features a flip-down TV above the bed, a walk-in wardrobe, a plush sofa, and a private fold-out balcony. Other highlights include a hydraulic swim platform, a large aft garage, and a spa. To top it off, the flybridge is outfitted with a bar, a barbeque, and a pop-up TV.
Conor McGregor: Tecnomar Lamborghini 63, $3.6 Million
UFC champ Conor McGregor snapped up one of Tecnomar’s fierce Lamborghini 63s for $3.6 million in 2020. The 63 references the yacht’s length in feet, Lamborghini’s 1963 foundation, and the fact that just 63 of these supercars of the seas were made. Hull number 12, reportedly delivered to the MMA star, was finished in the same Verde Gea green as the Raging Bull’s Sián FKP 37. Powered by a pair of MAN V-12 diesel engines that produce 2,000 hp each, the carbon-fiber 63-footer can reach a top speed of 63 knots and a cruising speed of up to 45 knots. That makes it one of the fastest vessels in its class and a perfect match for an equally ferocious Irishman.

The biggest yacht sales of 2024 so far
As we pass over the midpoint of 2024, the brokerage market continues to evolve. While BOATPro data indicates an overall decline in yacht sales during the first quarter compared to previous years, the top tier of the market remains buoyant, with transactions ranging from well-maintained older yachts to converted shadow vessels and charter regulars. BOAT looks at the most expensive sales of the year so far…
Length: 74m Builder: Amels
Changing hands from her original owner, the 74-metre Amels New Secret sold earlier this year with Ian Sherwood and Stephanie Bosi of Burgess representing the seller and Jonathan Barbe of Edmiston for the buyer. Built by the Dutch shipyard, she was delivered in 2017 and is the second hull to the first ( Plsv Vltra ) from the 242 Limited Edition series. The yacht’s Winch -designed interior accommodates 14 guests. The new owner will enjoy a separate deck with a private foredeck lounge, his and her en suite, and a lounge. Amenities include the 8-metre pool flanked by sun pads for lounging, a bar, a touch-and-go helipad and a wellness centre featuring a massage room, sauna, and juice bar.
New Secret was asking €109,000,000.
Length: 71.7m Builder: Alstom Leroux Naval Shipyard
In March, the 71.7-metre Kogo sold with Burgess’ Dominic Millman representing both the buyer and seller. This 2006 ice-classed yacht was penned by Tim Heywood and built by French shipyard Alstom Marine. Accommodation is for 14 guests across seven contemporary-styled cabins courtesy of Terence Disdale . The owners’ suite on the main deck features a private study and walk-in wardrobe. Spacious living areas mean plenty of comfortable dining and entertaining opportunities, with a team of 22 crew on hand. Throughout the yacht, there is state-of-the-art entertainment on offer, including a bridge deck lounge with outdoor cinema. Meanwhile, other highlights include the sun deck with a sheltered Jacuzzi and a large beach club with a swim platform for on-the-water fun. Kogo also offers a helicopter landing pad for easy access.
Kogo was asking $62,500,000.
Length: 70m Builder: Benetti
Only privately and lightly used, the 70-metre Benetti yacht Alfa was sold in February with Fraser's Vassilis Fotilas for the seller and Anton Foord of Ocean Independence representing the buyer. Delivered in 2020, her modern exterior was designed in-house, while the contemporary and simple interiors are courtesy of Laura Pomponi. Neutral colour palettes and natural materials were used in the accommodation for 12 guests across seven cabins, with an elevator connecting four of the five decks. The master suite on the private owner's deck sports an office, massage room, breakfast corner and exterior lounge overlooking the touch-and-go helipad. Her full-beam beach club with fold-out balconies creates an additional lounge when underway. The enclosed stern supports the infinity pool further up on the main deck aft, which effortlessly transforms into a shallow pool ideal for younger guests, or levels out to create a dancefloor for parties.
Alfa was asking €67,000,000.
Drizzle (now Vassa)
Length: 68.8m Builder: Feadship
The 68.8-metre Feadship only had one owner since it was delivered in 2012 as Drizzle. Sold by the central agent Jonathan Syrett of Hamilton Marine International representing the seller, she joined the market following the completion of her Lloyds 10-year Special Survey in May 2022. The yacht, now christened Vassa , has had comprehensive maintenance schedules and is fresh from her last refit in 2019, resulting in her near-perfect condition upon the sale. There are five cabins accommodating up to 12 guests within the contemporary interiors designed by RWD. Other features include a fitness studio, a tender garage full of toys and an advanced entertainment system.
Drizzle was asking €63,000,000.
Dapple (now Wingman)
Length: 67.2m Builder: Damen Yachting
Under contract for just 18 days after being announced for sale, Dapple was sold by Ben Ritchie of Y.CO. Originally built by Damen Yachting, she was delivered in 2014 to an avid scuba diver as a support vessel to a mothership. Scuba diving facilities onboard include a customised dive centre and professional decompression chamber. Other features that give rise to her off-the-beaten-track capabilities include her 8,700 nautical mile range, an onboard hospital, an array of tenders and toys and options for helicopter and submarine operations. A new owner can utilise the yacht as a standalone vessel if required, with three of 13 cabins used for guests, reducing the crew size from 20 to 16. It has been reported that the yacht was purchased by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, and the yacht has been renamed Wingman.
Dapple was asking €28,000,000.
Luna B (now AHS)
Length : 66m Builder: Oceanco
Luna B was sold, with Vesa Kaukonen of Large Yacht Corp representing the seller and Matt Albert of Superyacht Partners for the buyer. The 66-metre Oceanco yacht with a classic canoe stern has undergone various name changes and developments; initially beginning as Dilbar in 2005, she underwent a complete 16-month rebuild in 2019 and is now renamed AHS after the sale in January. The various features are a testament to her success as a charter yacht and include a spacious sundeck with a 19,000-litre pool, a helipad that transforms into a sun lounge and a unique cinema room. Accommodation is for 16 guests in eight cabins designed by the late Alberto Pinto .
Luna B was asking €42,500,000.
Length: 64.8m Builder: Benetti
Originally delivered in 2006 and benefitting from a substantial refit in 2017, Ambrosia sold this May with Gregory Gheraia of Blackorange acting for the seller and Bryan-Somerset Mehut of Moana Yachting introducing the buyer. The 64.8-metre Benetti superyacht was the fourth yacht her experienced owner purchased from the group and has used it exclusively since. She showcases the collaborative work of Francois Zuretti for the interior and Stefano Natucci, Benetti and Espen Øino for exterior and naval architecture. The yacht with Azipod propulsion and wheelchair access accommodates 14 guests. A sizeable main deck saloon boasts a sit-up bar and a baby grand piano, while the formal dining room caters to entertaining. The most intriguing highlight is her “Stargate Room,” an informal dining and cocktail lounge with a lunar theme. Its ceiling displays star constellations linked to the yacht’s GPS, changing according to the location. With the deal came an 8.2-metre Vikal limousine tender and a 7.5-metre Tresco custom GRP tender.
Ambrosia was asking €35,800,000.
