Congrats: Lil Yachty Is Officially A Dad After Welcoming His First Child
By Kiyonna Anthony
October 21, 2021
Congrats are in order for Lil Yachty .
The 24-year old rapper recently welcomed his first child into the world earlier this month in New York City. Yachty is known for keeping mum about his personal life -- so much so that fans are still speculating on who the mother of his child could be. The Atlanta-bred star is reportedly in Manhattan spending time with his new born baby girl, however, he has yet to officially speak out on his new bundle of joy.
Fortunately, Yachty's baby girl won't have much to want for, considering that her dad has been making major money moves. The multi-million dollar rapper recently invested in the plant-based nutritional supplement brand PlantFuel alongside NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens , and put $1 million into a new, Jewish dating app called LoxClub. Yachty said of his PlantFuel move:
“I’m super excited about my new venture with PlantFuel. It’s brands like PlantFuel that inspire and allow me to stay actively involved creatively beyond just investing.”
The news of the rapper's emergence into fatherhood comes just days after he joined Tame Impala on their remix record to "Breathe Deeper." Yachty said of the remix record:
“It was so amazing to work with Kevin [Parker] as I’ve been a big fan since high school so it was a pleasant surprise and honor to be a part of such an incredible song."
The "Yacht Club" rapper hasn't let up when it comes to making new music. Along with "Breathe Deeper", Yachty recently dropped his Birthday Mix Vol. 6 mixtape featuring appearances from Lil Tecca and SoFaygo, and even contributed a song to Pokémon 25: The Album entitled "Believing".
Congrats to the new dad!

Lil Yachty Joins #GirlDad Club After Welcoming 1st Child - But Who's The Mother?
Lil Yachty might want to consider dropping the “Lil” from his name after becoming a father for the first time.
According to TMZ , the 24-year-old Atlanta rapper welcomed the birth of his first child, a daughter, in the last few weeks. Sources say he’s been spending time with his baby girl in New York City, where she was born.
The identity of the child’s mother has yet to be revealed and it’s unclear whether Lil Yachty is still in a relationship with the mother. The Quality Control rapper was most recently linked to New York-based fashion designer Selangie , although it’s believed the couple split earlier this year.
Lil Yachty has been keeping his bundle of joy a secret on social media, with no mention of her birth (or his baby mama’s pregnancy) on his Instagram or Twitter feeds. However, Yachty did share a photo of himself posted up in Manhattan last week.
The only allusion Yachty has made to becoming a father came back in August when he tweeted a video of Big Boi performing his baby mama drama-filled verse on Outkast’s “Ms. Jackson,” along with the caption, “A flawless verse.” Although it’s entirely possible Lil Boat just loves the song.
Lil Yachty has certainly been putting himself in a position to provide for his newborn daughter. Aside from his multi-platinum rap career, the 24-year-old entered the $1.5 trillion wellness industry earlier this year by investing in the plant-based nutritional supplement brand PlantFuel alongside NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens.
Previously, Yachty plunged $1 million into the popular Jewish dating app Lox Club through his and Bhad Bhabie’s Scoop Investments venture capital fund.

Lil Yachty is a girl dad, TMZ reports. According to the outlet, the 24-year-old welcomed his first child, a baby girl, earlier this month in New York City. Yachty has reportedly been staying in the city for the past few weeks to care for his newborn daughter. So far, the rapper hasn’t disclosed who the child’s mother is and hasn’t posted publicly about his daughter online.
Although Yachty hasn’t confirmed the news, fans jumped to congratulate the Atlanta native on Wednesday (Oct. 20).
“Lil Yachty is gonna be a good dad,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Lil Yachty had a kid before [Lil] Uzi [Vert] OMG Lil Yachty is a dad now??!!! I’m so happy for him holy shit,” another wrote.
While Yachty is reportedly on daddy duty now, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t made time to share new music with his fans. The Lil Boat 3 crafter recently appeared on Pokémon 25: The Album with his single, “Believing.”
Back in August, Yachty also celebrated his birthday with his new mixtape, Birthday Mix 6, which saw appearances from Lil Tecca and SoFaygo. Since then, he’s shared videos for “Lord of the Beans,” “TUNDE,” “Rocc Climbing” and dropped his own remix of Tame Impala’s song, “Breathe Deeper.”
Besides new music, Yachty has also recently made headlines for his investments. Over the summer, he and Bhad Bhabie teamed up to invest $1 million in the Jewish dating app , The Lox Club. In May, Yachty also released his own line of gender-inclusive nail polish .
“It’s essentially like… unisex, but I want it to be more focused on for men to use it and to be more comfortable in their own skin ,” he told TMZ prior to the nail polish’s launch. “Because bro… come on. What are barriers? We still have barriers?”
See fans’ reaction to the news on Twitter below. Congrats, Yachty !
Lil Yachty Welcomed His First Child Into The World
It seems that rapper Lil Yachty has officially joined fatherhood! According to reports, Lil Yachty , born Miles McCollum, welcomed a daughter into the world a couple of weeks ago in NYC. The 24-year-old rapper is reportedly still in the city as he spends time with his newborn. As of now, it’s unclear who the baby’s mother is. This is Lil Yachty’s first child.
As previously reported , Lil Yachty made headlines this past summer for teaming up with fellow rapper Bhad Bhabie , 18, in a business endeavor. According to reports, the pair invested $1 million into Lox Club, which is a dating app that markets itself as being “culturally Jewish.”
Their large investment was made in partnership with Adam Kugler’s Scoop Investments, which is also responsible for helping Lil Yachty secure his Reese’s Puffs deal. In addition to that, Adam Kugler once managed Bhad Bhabie and is her business partner on a variety of other deals.
Lil Yachty definitely has a lot on his plate now to keep him busy. He launched an all-gender exclusive nail polish brand, Crete, this year as well.
Congratulations to Lil Yachty on the new addition to his family!

Lil Yachty is now a girl dad.
Congratulations are in order for rap star Lil Yachty as he’s become a father for the first time. The news was confirmed by TMZ , who shared that the Atlanta native welcomed his first child, a daughter, in the last few weeks. They also stated that he’s been spending time with his newborn daughter in New York City, where she was born.
There are still no reports as to who the child’s mother is as yet, and it seems he’s trying to keep her out of the spotlight. However, recent reports suggest that he was last known to be dating New York-based fashion designer Selangie. They were rumored to have broken up sometime earlier this year, though.
He’s also kept his baby’s identity secret and hasn’t used any of his social media accounts to show off his baby girl. He did, however, share a photo of himself in Manhattan, which confirms that he is in New York at this time.
Lil Yachty hasn’t really been as active on the scene in recent times, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been bringing in the paper. He’s already a multi-platinum rap artist and has some sound investments even at the young age of 24-years-old. He recently entered the $1.5 trillion wellness industry when he invested in the plant-based nutritional supplement brand PlantFuel .
The “One Night” singer also invested $1 million into the popular Jewish dating app Lox Club , which he was able to do through his Scoop Investments venture capital fund. His latest single is called “Believing” and was part of Pokémon 25: The Album.
He also recently released a Detroit-themed project called Michigan Boy Boat and has been featured on Kanye West’s tenth studio album Donda , as well as Lil Tecca’s deluxe edition, We Love You Tecca 2 .

When asked by the Going Mental podcast host, Eileen Kelly, why he hasn’t changed his daughter’s diaper, “The One Night” rapper simply admitted that he just doesn’t want to do it.
“I’m not going to,” he said . “I don’t change diapers.”
The rapper continued saying that there is no real reason other than he, “just don’t want to. “I just don’t want to. But I’ve seen it happen. But I just don’t really care to do that.”
Yachty concluded his thoughts on diapers saying that although he is the parent, someone else will change diapers in his stead.
Regardless of Lil Yachty ditching diaper duty, he is truly one proud papa and doted on his daughter in the interview saying that she is, “sick.”

Lil Yachty reportedly welcomed his first child last year in October. It has been rumored that his little bundle of joy’s mom is model and entrepreneur Selangie. Timing would make sense as Selangie’s daughter Varsity just celebrated her first birthday.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Selangie (@sel.xo)
Not mentioning his baby mama by name in the interview, Lil Yachty did take a moment to give her a shout out.
“I’m real thankful for her. You know, she’s a really caring and understanding woman. She is not troublesome. I tell her all the time. I’m real appreciative for her, you know, because It could have been something else. Right. So, like, it’s teamwork. It’s a partnership.”
So, just what is Lil Yachty’s favorite part about being a parent? Simply watching his daughter grow.
“Just watching her grow. I’ve never watched somebody learn things. Like, watching her learn. Like watching her see her shadow for the first time. Like just little things… Just watching her experience things for the first time like candy, or something like a lemon. All these things are just so funny to me, you know like she’s a really dramatic character. She shows everything, so it’s crazy.”
It is good to hear that he is opening up and talking about his daughter. Next, we cannot wait to see pics of father and daughter together.

Whether you’re a world famous movie star, journalist, the president or a mega-platinum rapper, one thing most dads can all relate to is Lil Yachty ‘s dilemma: his daughter is super uninterested in what he does for a living.
Lil Yachty: Photos From the Billboard Cover Shoot
Now, keep in mind that Yachty’s baby girl is just one year old. But in the rapper-singer’s Billboard cover story written by Lyndsey Havens about his mind-bending psychedelic album Let’s Start Here , the proud papa says at the moment being a dad is the most important thing in his life.
Trending on Billboard
Who knows where the couple’s child will land when it comes to music taste? But if she’s anything like her dad it will likely be a very eclectic playlist. Let’s Start Here would be a great place for her to start given the big swings Yachty took on the rock-leaning album that features co-writes from indie darlings Mac DeMarco, Nick Hakim, Alex G and members of MGMT, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Chairlift.
“I did what I really wanted to do, which was create a body of work that reflected me ,” said Yachty, 25, about breaking free from what he felt was the mumble rap/”bubble-gum trap” jail. “My idea was for this album to be a journey: Press play and fall into a void.”
“There’s a lot of kids who haven’t heard any of my references,” explained the artist born Miles McCollum in the hip-hop hotbed of Atlanta. “They don’t know anything about Bon Iver or Pink Floyd or Black Sabbath or James Brown. I wanted to show people a different side of me — and that I can do anything, most importantly.”
When you hear that Yachty recent influences include Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon , Frank Ocean’s Blonde and Tame Impala’s Currents you get a sense of the expansive musical world he wants to inhabit.
He also said he’s still eager to work with more artists outside of his (former) given genre, mentioning the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as a bucket list act and his dream of writing a ballad for Elton John. “I know I could write him a beautiful song,” he said, noting that he’s not closing the (t)rap door just yet.
“I would love to do a project with Tyler [The Creator],” he said of his fellow hip-hop shapeshifter. “He’s the reason I made this album. He’s the one who told me to do it, just go for it. He’s so confident and I have so much respect for him because he takes me seriously, and he always has.”
Lil Yachty, presented by Doritos, will perform at Billboard Presents The Stage at SXSW on March 16 .

Kid Cudi Praises Lil Yachty as 'What I Hoped for in the Next Generation'
The two artists recently worked together on Cudder's new album 'INSANO.'
Kid Cudi is singing Lil Yachty ’s praises.
Cudder recently dropped off his album INSANO , which features Lil Boat on the track “Too Damn High.”
The 39-year-old “Day ‘N’ Nite” rapper spoke more about working with the Atlanta native, describing how he sees himself in 26-year-old Yachty.
“There's new people that I'm working with like Yachty, of course, who I've learned that we have crazy chemistry on record as well,” Cudi told Zane Lowe for Apple Music at around the 36:30 minute mark above. “There's something going on with me and Yachty…just more music between me and him. We're trying to figure something out.”
Cudi continued, “Every so often I'll work with somebody and be like, ‘Oh my God, he's like me.’ He has powers. Yachty got powers. And when we were sitting there, we must've banged out three, four songs. So there's a little bit more of Yachty on the deluxe and he sounds amazing. His range is crazy. It reminds me [of] what I hoped for the next generation. It reminds me of the type of shit I was on when I was younger and just trying to explore and just be different and not have people knowing my next move.”
Yachty was one of seven creators who spoke to Eric Diep for the 2019 Complex piece “They Reminisce: How Kid Cudi Inspired a Generation,” emphasizing how much Cudder has always inspired him.
“I’m a super-huge fan, and I've been listening to Cudi since I was a kid. ... I’m super appreciative of everything he’s done and for being himself, because it helped me grow up as a man and opened up my creativity," said the Let's Start Here artist. "He’s a big part of why I wanted to act, because he started acting. Even with modeling. I definitely appreciate him for being him so I could be me.”
Cudi released INSANO just last week, boasting features from DJ Drama, Travis Scott, ASAP Rocky, Pharrell, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, and XXXTentacion.

Mike Will Made-It, Lil Wayne, and Lil Yachty Figure Out if the High Was Worth the Pain in ‘High3r’ Video

Lil Wayne , Lil Yachty , and Mikę Will Made-It chart some serious highs and serious lows in the new music video for their recent collaborative single, “High3r.”
The visual jumps between close-up shots of the three artists performing the song and three different vignettes that play off the themes of “High3r.” In the first, a couple’s euphoric night turns horrific after one too many pills; in the second, a wild joy ride ends with a seemingly inevitable crash; and in the last, a lovelorn pharmacists finds himself on the harrowing end of an armed robbery.

Lil Yachty Is As Adventurous As They Come, But Is That What Hip-Hop Wants?
Lil Yachty , getting a rise out of older New York men: a tradition that is widely discussed, and by now, moderately pretentious. First, there was the uproar over him not knowing any of The Notorious B.I.G. or 2Pac’s music , something that he admitted to when he first emerged a little more than ten years ago. It was in that era where he would begin to say that he did not classify himself as a rapper; it was in that era when “Minnesota,” one of his first sugary hooks, came to be an example of exuberant youthfulness.
It would be a recurring theme: Yachty saying something that got old school New Yorkers shaking their heads in frothing anger; Yachty making music that was immensely catchy, allowing his words to die on the vine as opposed to ringing in an old man’s ears. Here he was, a Miley Cyrus in rap -— as The Ringer’s Justin Charity likes to say —- spewing a type of carefree mystique that flew from his pink braids all the way to the ears of the grown and grumpy.
Yachty, now 27, is no longer a member of the youth. In hip-hop years, he is now in what should be the prime of his career. He’s made some noise in the 2020s so far, jumping on different scenes and becoming adventurous in them, while maintaining the overwhelming positivity that he has as an artist. Michigan Boat Boy helped legitimatize the Detroit sound to the masses, although Yachty’s lyricism pales in comparison to the hot steel of the Detroit rappers he rhymed with.
Then, came the snippet-as-song, “ Poland ”, perhaps the finest moment of his career so far. Anyone who thought Yachty was an alien sent by a corny executive who wanted to commercialize the game had to eat crow when “Poland” came out; the song was, and remains, a sincere disruption, weirder than any of the Super Mario maximalism he made when he first came on the scene.
Sometimes, Yachty’s minor successes will lead to excitement, as if he is turning the corner and becoming the acclaimed star that he always had the potential to be. But, whenever he decides that people are zigging to his tune, he zags, only to make people more frustrated. Let’s Start Here was, in the eyes of many hip-hop fans, a misstep in the form of a zag, the kind of record that doesn’t have lasting power and only exists to make white people think you are well-rounded.
Why is Yachty never comfortable in one mode? Why does he always seem to be leaving traditional hip-hop, as opposed to making the world of hip-hop deeper and bigger? Maybe it is because he still harbors feelings of annoyance at the old men who once questioned his masculinity and rap skills. Despite being a decade old, those uncomfortable conversations might still be on Yachty’s mind. Many contemporary rappers are addicted to being considered “artists” and not rappers because they think it sounds more chic; more artistic. Calling yourself an artist that is above hip-hop is a baptism of sorts, for the fashion runways and the creative control that rappers from a post-Kanye West world tend to crave.
It confuses me on why that phrase is a thing. Hip-hop is fashion. So, when rappers say they are artists and not just rappers, all it seems like is they’re craving a certain white freedom, as opposed to giving hip-hop — the Blackest innovation of the past fifty years of American life — its credit for being fashion’s greatest collaborator. But, when Yachty collaborates with North Carolina rapper J. Cole , it feels more openly honest than when he does an album with James Blake . (He also has a collaboration with the white rapper sensation Ian , and Ian washes him, as sad as it is to admit).
Yachty’s career can’t always be pinned down by critics and fans. He’s not the subversive auteur or daring vocalist that Playboi Carti is; he’s not the hook machine that Gunna is; he’s not the rapper that Young Thug or even Kodak Black is. His biggest skill is being the adventurer-in-chief, the inspiration to do more. In a piece, I once said “he was free from class-consciousness; he’s a pink-braided wonder.” The PR battles he won came from his vibes, his vitality got people out of their comfort zones. He wants to be all things for everyone. Maybe that prevents his music from being as focused as you’d like it to be. Sometimes, his life seems delightful: he is often out in public in the downtown scene, enjoying life as if he was a regular person, not someone who would star in Nautica commercials . But that downplays how famous he is.
Before, Yachty was winning all of the public relations battles, now he’s seemingly in the news much more than he needs to be. Comments from his podcast A Safe Place went viral last week, as Yachty mentioned that he thought that New York was behind in fashion, and that The Bronx and Queens are behind Manhattan; a straight up lie, in relation to the Bronx and Manhattan. “I don’t think there’s sh*t goin’ on when it comes to New York fashion,” is what he said in full. (Twitter people noted that this is odd, because Yachty sometimes dresses like a New Yorker).
The podcast made me wonder about Yachty’s complicated relationship with New York. There’s been foul play on both sides, but last week was Yachty escalating for fun, not any reason other than wanting to stir an imaginary pot. Then, he mentioned that Drake was not affected by the Kendrick Lamar beef. It’s nice that Drake has someone in the industry that did not join Kendrick’s team of disgruntled co-workers, but it’s not in Yachty’s interest to deliver Drake’s messages for him. There’s also been trouble brewing within his own collective: while confirming, or announcing, that Karrahboo was leaving Concrete Boys on Instagram Live, he looked insincere, looking elsewhere while speaking. Who knows why she left? Industry politics are often messy, but it reflected oddly on Yachty.
To see Yachty is to see someone who will never conform to the expectations of Black culture, or even white people. One can consider him a reactive artist, someone who will change his tune immediately after playing something that the audience stood up and clapped for. With his tour coming up in September, it begs to wonder what his follow-up to Bad Cameo will be. This could be a legacy-defining time for Yachty, as he is now coming up on ten years in the rap game. It’s rare that a career lasts that long to begin with, a testament to Yachty’s resourcefulness. But, he’s getting older: people want more from him. He’s no longer just the kid arguing with Ebro.

Lil Yachty Confirms Karrahbooo Has Split From Concrete Boys
Fans speculated Karrahbooo was no longer affiliated with Lil Yachty and his Concrete Boys collective when some noticed she was no longer included in their Instagram bio. Fans also peeped that she unfollowed group members on Twitter and didn't perform with them at Broccoli City over the weekend.
Well, it looks like their suspicions have been confirmed, as Lil Yachty went on Instagram Live Monday (July 29) to formally announce he and Karrahbooo have parted ways. "I'mma say this s-t one time," he told fans. "We have split ways with Karrah as far as this Concrete s-t. I have nothing bad to say, nothing negative to say about Karrah. I wish her the best in her career."
Boat also said that he's "never going to speak on this again," and mentioned that he's not looking to replace her with another female rapper.
Karrahbooo started as Yachty's assistant and eventually showed interest in rap because she wanted to turn that into an acting career. "I'm only rapping because I saw Boat doing a movie when I was his assistant, and that's the day I was like, ‘I want to be a rapper,' because you can just be an actor from being a rapper if you're fly enough. That's how Boat did it," she said in an interview with Montreality in November. Her rap career started to take off after she had the standout verse on the Concrete Boys' appearance on the freestyle YouTube show On the Radar .
Karrahbooo has yet to respond to Yachty, but still refers to herself as "Concrete KB" in her Instagram bio .

Jean Dawson x Lil Yachty Join Hands on "Die For Me"
A more melodic cut from dawson..
Versatility is the crux of Jean Dawson ‘s artistry. This year has seen quite a wide range of releases from the enigmatic artist thus far, including his first Spanish track “Divino Desmadre,” as well as his contribution to A24 ‘s Talking Heads tribute album with “Swamp” and 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE ‘s compilation album with “fIT chECK fREEsTYle.” For the first time, Dawson is linking up with Lil Yachty for a more melodic cut dubbed “Die For Me.”
“I bet somebody love me, no / After I’ve died, we’ll see / Don’t show up at my funeral / If you won’t die for me,” he croons on the chorus of the track, which heavily emphasizes Dawson’s vocals that can often go overshadowed.

Lil Yachty And Veeze Drop Visual For Their New “Sorry Not Sorry” Track
Lil Yachty and Veeze have officially released their latest song “Sorry Not Sorry” along with an accompanying music video . The new track follows last month’s release of Yachty and Ian’s “Hate Me,” adding to Yachty’s collaborative hot streak.
Directed by AMD and Little Miles ,, the “Sorry Not Sorry” music video shows the two trendsetter emcees going bar for bar under the spotlight of a pitch-black stage in their signature nonchalant swagger. Earlier this summer, Lil Yachty teamed up with James Blake to deliver their genre-defying collab album, Bad Cameo , along with a set of visualizers for “Save The Savior,” “Run Away From The Rabbit,” “Red Carpet,” and “Transport Me.”

Joey Lawrence's 3 Kids: All About Daughters Charleston, Liberty and Dylan
Joey Lawrence has enjoyed watching his children — Charleston, Liberty and Dylan — grow

Joey Lawrence has come a long way since his days as a ‘90s heartthrob, trading the title for dad of three kids: Charleston, Liberty and Dylan.
Lawrence shares his two older daughters, Charleston and Liberty, with his ex-wife, Chandie Yawn-Nelson . The Blossom star welcomed his youngest child, Dylan, with his current wife, actress Samantha Cope .
Since he first became a father with Charleston's birth in 2006, followed by Liberty in 2010 and Dylan in 2023, Lawrence has enjoyed watching them grow. Speaking to SheKnows , he shared that his favorite thing about parenthood was “looking back and appreciating how special each and every era is that you have with your kid.”
During a 2009 interview with Yahoo's Spotlight to Nightlight , Lawrence also offered insight into his parenting approach, saying he walks “a fine line” between being their friend and parent. He noted that while he wants “to be great friends with my kids,” he also thinks there needs to be “respect” from them.
“If that’s not there, then you’re never going to get it, and you’re never going to have it and when you need to have it, it’s going to be a lost cause,” the actor explained.
While Cope often shares adorable photos and videos of Dylan on her Instagram , Lawrence has maintained the privacy of his oldest daughters throughout their lives. “I know with my family, we keep our private life private,” he told the outlet.
Here's everything to know about Joey Lawrence’s kids: Charleston, Liberty and Dylan.
Charleston "Charli" Lawrence, 18

Lawrence and Yawn-Nelson welcomed their daughter, Charleston "Charli" Lawrence, in 2006.
As a baby, Charleston got a taste of the entertainment industry, joining her father on a few of his Dancing with the Stars tours, starting at 8 months old. “I’m lucky to have such a great family,” he told TV Guide in 2008. “It’s great to have 8 to 10 weeks to spend together.”
The following year, she gained a love of reading. “She’s a huge fan of those Little Golden Books,” he told Spotlight to Nightlight , noting that they read one book at night, but she always tried to push it to two stories.
When Charleston was 5, he updated PEOPLE about her milestones, including learning to spell, read and tie her shoes.
Fast forward, the Brotherly Love alum opened up about his involvement with his kids’ lives in 2023, especially with his two older daughters.
After explaining that he doesn’t want them to use social media because it can skew their perspective of the world, he shared that he's discussed difficult topics with them, like the dangers of drugs.

“I don’t mind being a helicopter parent, as annoying as that is,” he told PEOPLE, stressing that, as a parent, it’s important to “ be consistent ” and “hope that most of what you say somehow gets absorbed into their brains.”
Away from home, Charleston may be the next member of the Lawrence family to make it big in Hollywood: In a 2024 interview with Morning Honey , the dad of three mentioned that he would support his kids going into the acting business if they wanted to, like his mom once did for him.
One of Charleston's first roles was in the Lifetime movie Deadly Deed , in which she played Lawrence's stepdaughter. "She was excellent," the actor said.
Still, he added that she may "circle back" to being in front of the small screen in the future after pursuing other hobbies.
“She loves to draw and is an incredible artist,” Lawrence shared. “She loves design and interior design, and she can sing and act. She’s still figuring it all out.”
Liberty "Libby" Grace Lawrence, 14

Lawrence and Yawn-Nelson welcomed their daughter, Liberty "Libby" Grace Lawrence, in 2010.
The name Liberty “is something I’ve always loved,” Lawrence told PEOPLE at the time, noting that the middle name, Grace, paid tribute to his late grandmother.
Yawn-Nelson had a difficult pregnancy with Liberty, who was born 6½ weeks early with Rh disease.
According to March of Dimes , Rh factor is a protein in red blood cells that can also be absent. If a person has the protein, they are Rh positive, and if they don't have the protein, they are Rh negative. Rh disease happens when the mother is Rh negative, and the baby is Rh positive.
“Libby came out needing a partial [blood] transfusion and was in an incubator for 2½ weeks — we couldn’t touch her, nothing. That first month was brutal," Lawrence told PEOPLE a few months after her birth.
After making a full recovery, the Gimme a Break! star revealed that Charleston put her focus on being an attentive big sister. "She’ll go get diapers, and she’ll make faces, smile and sing to Libby,” he said.

While Liberty is aware of her dad’s fame, it’s not something she’s super impressed by.
Speaking to PEOPLE in 2022, Lawrence said that Charleston and Liberty were aware of what he did for work but " they don’t really care ." He joked, “I think I’d like them to care a little more, just because it would make me feel better about myself.”
Liberty hasn’t shown quite as much interest in acting as Charleston, but Lawrence would still support her if she did.
“My girls have taken a totally different path because that’s their journey,” he told Morning Honey. “I don’t know where it will end up, but they’ve got the talent. I don’t know if they’ll utilize it in that way, but I would certainly help them in any way I could if that’s what they wanted to do.”
He also revealed that the sisters like to sing, saying, “They truly have incredible voices. They blow me away! They sound like Ariana Grande . It’s pretty incredible.”
When speaking to PEOPLE about being a “helicopter parent” in 2023, Lawrence revealed how he tries to help his kids navigate social media, including offering a different view of reference.
“All these insecurities and everything that young people go through as they’re developing? I just try and give them perspective every chance I get to talk them through it," he explained.
Dylan Rose Lawrence, 1
Joey Lawrence/Instagram
Lawrence and Cope welcomed their daughter, Dylan Rose Lawrence, on Jan. 16, 2023.
The married couple celebrated the birth of Dylan with a series of sweet photos on Instagram shortly after her birth. “Mom, Dad and big sisters are all so smitten with you sweet girl,” the actor wrote.
“We welcomed her into this world with the most amazing midwife, everyone is happy and healthy and we are overjoyed with gratitude,” Lawrence continued. “Wow what a beautiful journey. thank you for all your continued love surrounding this beautiful new life! stay tuned for baby spam xoxo.”
A few weeks after Dylan was born, Lawrence opened up to Too Fab about how having a baby in the home again changed his life.
“So wild. It’s great,” he said, noting that as much as he loved it, it was still difficult. “The adjustment period, kids break you in and they break you down."
In a 2024 interview with SheKnows, Lawrence shared that his “favorite” thing about Dylan was “when she blows me a kiss back because she just started doing that.” He added that she “just started saying ‘Bye, Dada.’ ”
While Charleston and Liberty are mostly absent from their dad’s Instagram, Cope often posts photos with Dylan. In January 2024, she celebrated Dylan’s first birthday with a cute video on Instagram of her playing with a balloon.
“it turns out – after 365 days of holding you nonstop, nursing you on demand, rocking you to sleep... sleeping next to you and ‘spoiling’ you... the only person I was actually spoiling was me," she captioned it. "I’m so thankful for every moment and so thankful God chose me to be your mama."
Cope has also posted pictures of Dylan with her horse, Remington, and it seems like Dylan enjoys her mom's hobby. “I’m so thankful to be raising an animal lover," the Insecure star wrote alongside a clip of her daughter playing with the horse.
