sinot yacht concept aware underway

Sinot reveals 80m concept Aware

Dutch studio Sinot has revealed designs for a 79.9-metre concept, called Aware, ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show . The ready-to-build superyacht proposal pools all of the studio's experience in design and engineering to create a yacht that has been carefully "optimised" to offer the best in on board experiences for an owner and guests.

Key considerations of Aware include the use of light, space and the balance between exterior and interior areas. Sinot also worked to slim down the yacht's GT in order to amp up the amount of exterior living areas which the studio notes are "most often used" by guests.

"For the design of Aware the focus is on maximizing the space on board within the yacht’s limited structure. We designed open plan layouts for the beach club, lounges and exterior decks that offer inherent flexibility and ample space while reducing the number of decks," explained Sander Sinot.

Areas that have benefitted from this increased use of outdoor space include the beach club, which has headheights of three metres, fold-down terraces and integrated sliding glass partitions which can be removed or added according to their use.

Elsewhere, the yacht has a 460 square metre exterior space on the bridge deck with a lounge dining area, library and wheelhouse housed inside a glass-encased "pavilion" that creates a winter garden area on this deck.  Skylights with integrated shadow grids are built into the ceiling along the sides of the pavilion, allowing light to flood in from all sides.

The 1,500GT yacht would have accommodation for ten guests in four cabins plus a full-beam owner's apartment complete with sliding glass doors leading to an exterior balcony with private Jacuzzi. There is a combined en suite and dressing room attached, and Sinot has said that all the furniture would be bespoke pieces "hand-crafted from durable and natural materials".

"For our design team this is one of the most challenging concepts we have ever launched because this is the next step in a yacht’s overall efficiency, and we believe a next step in yacht design," commented Sinot. “Aware combines a superior quality of build with a sophisticated use of natural materials and a seamless integration of technology resulting in a minimalistic, essential design atmosphere that creates a holistic awareness of the yacht for a true connoisseur owner.”

The Dutch studio has a number of award-winning yachts in its portfolio, including the 60-metre Heesen yacht Lusine and the 77.2-metre Pi .

“The principle of maximizing space and reducing GT yields with a distinct, sleek, minimalist, and super-spacious design that focuses on optimizing a number of much-used larger spaces aboard is often requested by experienced owners,” studio founder Sander Sinot said in a statement.

Another area that has been expanded and elevated is the full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck. Spanning 860 square feet, the secluded and stylish oasis includes a bedroom, lounge, ensuite, walk-in wardrobe, and a balcony with a private Jacuzzi. Aware also has four beautifully appointed staterooms positioned around the central staircase and lobby that can sleep eight guests.

In terms of decor, the yacht is replete with natural materials and dotted with custom hand-crafted furniture. The minimalist, sophisticated interior is bathed in natural light, too. The light and airy pavilion sports shutters and skylights, while the bright lower decks showcase full-length windows.

Aware is quite a capable cruiser, as well. Equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, the vessel can hit 18 knots at full tilt and cover 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. It can also carry the obligatory water toys and two tenders measuring 34 feet and 27 feet, respectively.

AWARE (80m) // Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design

Aware is an 80m motor yacht concept by sinot yacht architecture & design that features optimized space and a connection between outside and inside..

The realm of superyachts revolves around the concept of optimization, encompassing various aspects such as luxury, the limited time owners spend on board with their loved ones, privacy, and the myriad of pleasures life at sea offers. AWARE, in particular, places great emphasis on optimizing space as a fundamental element of its design vision.

Sander Sinot explains: “For the design of AWARE the focus is on maximizing the space on board within the yacht’s limited structure. We designed open plan layouts for the beach club, lounges and exterior decks that offer inherent flexibility and ample space while reducing the number of decks.”

Furthermore, AWARE achieves an unparalleled level of outdoor space on the beach and upper decks, the primary living areas frequently used by owners. This reduction in gross tonnage (GTs) enhances the overall experience and adds significant value to the superyacht.

The prudent application of proportions in the exterior and interior of AWARE is instrumental in optimizing the overall sense of tranquility, thereby engendering a pure spatial encounter. Illumination is employed as a means to establish interior ambiance through the utilization of shutters, adaptable blinds, and concealed skylights with grids that permit regulated amounts of natural light.

Sinot: “For our design team, this is one of the most challenging concepts we have ever launched because this is a next step in a yacht’s overall efficiency, and we believe a next step in yacht design.” This efficiency, Sinot stresses, results in the Essence of Luxury: “AWARE combines a superior quality of build with a sophisticated use of natural materials and a seamless integration of technology resulting in a minimalistic, essential design atmosphere that creates a holistic awareness of the yacht for a true connoisseur owner.”

Motor Yacht AWARE Interior Design

Situated at the forefront of AWARE’s main deck, the owner’s stateroom spans 80 square meters and encompasses living, sleeping, bathroom, and dressing areas. The utilization of space is optimized to provide an unparalleled sense of spaciousness. The state room’s open-plan layout integrates a bedroom, lounge, balcony, and private jacuzzi. The seamless transition from the interior to the exterior is facilitated by glass sliding doors and a glass bulwark. Combining the bathroom and dressing areas in the owner’s stateroom maximizes the efficiency of space utilization. All the owner’s stateroom features are custom-designed and hand-crafted from natural and durable materials.

AWARE possesses four elegantly furnished guest staterooms strategically positioned around the central staircase lobby. These accommodations offer an uninterrupted view of the encompassing seascape through their expansive full-length windows in the bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. The design of these guest staterooms aims to cultivate an ambiance of delightful intimacy and conscientious hospitality.

The bridge deck of the vessel features a spacious exterior deck measuring 460m2, providing ample space for guests to enjoy panoramic views of the sea. The deck’s interior encompasses a lounge, dining area, library, and semi-open wheelhouse, all seamlessly integrated into a single, open-concept space spanning nearly 200m2. This area is enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass facades, equipped with adjustable horizontal louvers at the structural mullions. These facades can be smoothly slid away, effectively merging the dining area with the outdoor lounge seating at the aft of the exterior deck. Skylights with integrated shadow grids are strategically positioned in the ceiling along the pavilion’s sides, allowing natural light to permeate the interior and reinforcing the connection between the inside and outside spaces.

The central circular staircase, which serves as an elegant focal point, connects the vessel’s lower deck, main deck, and bridge deck. Its sculptural design and placement within a glass-covered void give the impression that the staircase is floating weightlessly in space, creating a sense of grandeur and emphasizing its role as a prominent design element aboard the AWARE. As one ascends this impressive circular staircase, the oculus in the central lobby illuminates the path leading towards the aft lounge area, where comfortable sofas are arranged. The open connection to the aft and side deck exteriors allows for an authentic al-fresco dining and lounging experience.

The seating arrangement within the impressive semi-open wheelhouse facilitates collaborative voyage planning among the captain, owner, and accompanying travelers as they gather around a spacious, specially crafted round table. The wheelhouse itself incorporates state-of-the-art technologies, envisioning a future-oriented approach. Moreover, the wheelhouse can be isolated from the lounge area by closing the sliding doors, ensuring a distinct separation. This particular section, of utmost importance for the crew and captain in delivering an unforgettable journey, has been meticulously designed to optimize operational efficiency through effective spatial allocation.

SINOT YACHT ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN PRESENTS: AWARE, THE ESSENCE OF LUXURY

Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design is proud to present Aware, a yacht concept where space optimization is at the forefront and which has an open eye for what matters most: an abundance of space, an exceptional inside-outside connection to the sea, spacious and comfortable lounges, and vast exterior decks. AWARE is the Essence of Luxury, a logical step in yacht design where all the available space is used to give owners and guests the best possible experience. Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design presents the ready to build, fully operational concept Aware with a stunning 1600 mm scale model at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023 Stand: Parvis Piscine PP67.

Design Vision Aware

The world of superyachts is all about optimization: of luxury, of the scarce time owners spend on board with their loved ones, of privacy and of all the delights life at sea has to offer. The optimization of space is at the heart of the design vision for Aware. As designer Sander Sinot explains: “For the design of Aware the focus is on maximizing the space on board within the yacht’s limited structure. We designed open plan layouts for the beach club, lounges and exterior decks that offer inherent flexibility and ample space while reducing the number of decks.”

In addition, by reducing GTs, Aware provides unprecedented amounts of outdoor space on the living areas that are most often used, the beach deck and upper deck, adding the most value for users. “The principle of maximizing space and reducing GT yields with a distinct, sleek, minimalist and super-spacious design that focuses on optimizing a number of much-used larger spaces aboard, is often requested by experienced owners,” Sinot points out. “Other exceptional features are the Beach Club with a 3-meter-high ceiling and fold-down hatches and the sliding parts of the glass façade that seamlessly blends Aware’s interior and exterior.”

The Essence of Luxury

Careful use of proportions in both the exterior and interior of Aware maximizes exterior and interior serenity resulting in a pure space experience. Light is used as a tool to set interior moods using shutters, adjustable blinds and grids in concealed skylights which admit controlled levels of daylight. Sinot: “For our design team this is one of the most challenging concepts we have ever launched because this is a next step in a yacht’s overall efficiency, and we believe a next step in yacht design.” This efficiency, Sinot stresses, results in the Essence of Luxury: “AWARE combines a superior quality of build with a sophisticated use of natural materials and a seamless integration of technology resulting in a minimalistic, essential design atmosphere that creates a holistic awareness of the yacht for a true connoisseur owner.”

Elongated and elegant

All lounges, interior spaces and exterior decks are proportioned to provide ultimate functionality and an optimal inside-out experience. With a LOA of 79,9 meters and a height of just 8 meters above the waterline, the low profile of AWARE is elongated and elegant.

Aware’s triple deck yacht design has an open plan pavilion on the bridge deck offering unrestricted views of the ocean on all sides.

Owner’s State Room: Dreamtime delights

Located forward on AWARE’s main deck, the beam-wide owner’s state room offers 80m2 of living, sleeping, bathroom and dressing space. Again, optimal use of space provides unprecedented spaciousness. The open plan arrangement combines a bedroom with a lounge and balcony with a private jacuzzi. Glass siding doors and a glass bulwark provide a seamless transition from inside to outside. A combined bathroom and dressing space for the owner’s state room optimizes the efficiency of space usage. All the features in the owner’s state room consist of custom-designed pieces, hand-crafted from durable and natural materials.

Guest State Rooms: Mindful hospitality

Aware has four beautifully appointed guest state rooms located around Aware’s central staircase lobby. The full-length windows in the bedrooms and the ensuite bathrooms deliver an infinite connection with the surrounding seascape. The guest state rooms are designed to create an atmosphere of pleasing intimacy and mindful hospitality.

Bridge Deck Pavilion: Free-flowing spaciousness

On the bridge deck, a vast 460m2 exterior deck space surrounds the pavilion for guests to fully enjoy views of the sea. Inside, a lounge, dining area, library, and semi-open wheelhouse are integrated in one free-flowing space of almost 200m2 enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass facades with adjustable horizontal louvres at the structural mullions. These facades smoothly slide away to unite the dining area with the outdoor lounge seating at the aft of the exterior deck. Skylights with integrated shadow grids are situated in the ceiling along the sides of the pavilion, delivering light into the interior and enforcing the inside-outside connection.

The elegant, central circular staircase connects the lower deck, main deck, and bridge deck onboard. With its sculptural design and position in a glass-covered vide, the stairs seem to float freely in space, creating an impression of monumental weightlessness, emphasizing the staircase’s statement of the pure design language onboard Aware.

When ascending this grand circular staircase, the oculus in the central lobby lights the route towards the aft lounge, where a seating arrangement of comfortable sofas is situated; the open connection to the aft and side deck exteriors makes dining and lounging a true al-fresco experience.

Semi-open wheelhouse arrangement

The spectacular semi-open wheelhouse’s seating arrangement allows the captain, owner, and travel companions to plan voyages at a large, custom-built round table. The wheelhouse, which encompasses all the latest technologies for the wheelhouse of the future, can be separated from the lounge by closing the sliding doors. This area, crucial for the crew and captain to provide a memorable passage, has been designed for optimal operation with efficient space distribution.

Ready to be build

By launching several high-profile concepts, Sinot has managed to amaze, stimulate, and enthuse its customers and the market over the past decade. Not surprisingly, several concepts that Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design has presented over the years are now in various stages of realization. Like the previously presented concepts, AWARE is ready to be built. The design combines proven technology with exceptional and innovative design elements and the most precious and durable materials. AWARE is the Essence of Luxury, a logical step in yacht design where all available space is used to give the owner and guests the best possible experience. Moreover, the design is such that it lends itself to being completely customized to the wishes of the future owner, without any concession to the uniqueness of this special concept.

Dutch design firm Sinot has released a 262-foot superyacht called the Aware ahead of the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show. Focusing on optimizing interior and exterior spaces, the Aware promises sweeping ocean views anywhere on the vessel. The design increases the use of outdoor space while minimizing the number of decks, with areas like the beach club and lounges receiving special attention. The beach club features 10-foot ceilings and sliding glass partitions that can be added or removed depending on usage. The bridge deck measures over 1,500 square feet with a lounge dining area, library, and wheelhouse housed inside a glass-encased pavilion. The Aware is designed for up to 10 guests in four cabins, with a full-beam glass-enclosed owner's suite.

Using its unique FlexiArm Design, the machine can easily mop, dry, and vacuum, hitting both high-traffic areas and those pesky corners and edges, covering 98.8% of surfaces with a precision margin of 1.85mm. Then, when it's done, it passes over its same route using its auto-drying function, meaning you get the convenience of a clean, dry mop without the work of wringing the first one out. That said, this machine also senses when its mop water isn't running clear anymore, triggering a self-clean at its dock, which uses 140º F water to sanitize and remove the dirt and grime from the dual spinning mops, making it more efficient and your floors far cleaner. Enjoy Prime Day savings of $300 through July 20th.

Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design presents: AWARE, The Essence of Luxury

The Essence of Luxury

sinot yacht aware

Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design is proud to present AWARE, a yacht concept where space optimization is at the forefront and which has an open eye for what matters most: an abundance of space, an exceptional inside-outside connection to the sea, spacious and comfortable lounges, and vast exterior decks. AWARE is the Essence of Luxury, a logical step in yacht design where all the available space is used to give owners and guests the best possible experience. Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design presents the ready to build, fully operational concept AWARE with a stunning 1600 mm scale model at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023 (Stand: Parvis Piscine PP67).

“Other exceptional features are the Beach Club with a 3-meter-high ceiling and fold-down hatches and the sliding parts of the glass façade that seamlessly blends AWARE's interior and exterior.”

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

<< Previous page

Pages:  379-406

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.

Keywords: Tuva, Early Iron Age, early Scythian period, Aldy-Bel culture, barrow, burial in the coffin, mummy, full genome sequencing, aDNA

Exterior Design

A yacht can be seen as a high performance machine and as ‘moving architecture’ – in all cases, the exterior is the everlasting first impression..

Sinot creates unique profiles and deck layouts that reflect the client’s ambitions and inspirations, while also adding a commercially-viable distinctiveness. To create space for enjoyment and relaxation, the focus is on constructing open views, clear sight lines, expansive exterior decks and space for water toys and swimming. The owner decides the direction of the exterior design, Sinot combines the dimensions and shape of the hull and superstructure with the form of the bow to result in distinct lines and individual character, advanced exterior designs with a pronounced identity and classic potential, which stand the test of time for future markets.

Exterior detailing Meticulous attention to details on masts, railings, bulwarks, teak deck layout, porthole design and rub rail construction provide a finer exterior yacht experience for owners, guest and crews. Placing equal emphasis on functionality, Sinot’s quality design and craftsmanship addresses reduction of maintenance, affirming the yacht as a superior piece of professional equipment.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

sinot yacht aware

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

sinot yacht aware

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

sinot yacht aware

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

sinot yacht aware

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

sinot yacht aware

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

sinot yacht aware

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

sinot yacht aware

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
