Cruise Bratislava - Vienna - Bratislava by catamaran during which you can enjoy not only the views of the city of Bratislava and Vienna, but also the panorama of Devín Castle or the small town of Hainburg.

Twin city liner's speedboat provides open and closed deck. The closed deck of the ship provides panoramic windows, which means that the cruise will take place in any weather. Small refreshments are available on the board.

Check-in: 30 minutes before departure. All passengers, including children, must have a valid travel document, i.e. identity card or passport. Passengers who need visas can get all the necessary information at the relevant embassy.

Luggage : hand luggage up to 9 kg is included in the price. Transportation of larger luggage upon request.

Dog : 5€ / one way - European vaccination certificate, muzzle and leash required.

Bicycle:  5€ fee, capacity 12 places, reservation required in advance. It is not possible to transport the following types of bicycles: tandem, electric bicycles and bicycles with a trailer.

Mini Danube Cruise – Vienna To Bratislava Day Trip

Mini Danube Cruise. If you plan a day trip from Vienna to Bratislava by boat consider taking the catamaran during the warm months. At just 60 km distance from Vienna, this stretch of the Donau provides a great setting for a mini Danube cruise. Despite this being a fairly high-speed ride it feels super safe and is also child friendly.

Our High-Speed Mini Danube Cruise

Not only are the catamarans the most classy passenger boats on the Vienna Danube they are also the fastest. Our Danube catamaran departed on a sunny Sunday at 9 am from a quay on the Danube canal in the city centre.

At that point, the canal itself displayed its best urban charm. First, a mixture of graffiti walls decorated two man-made sandy beaches with deck chairs. Second, Vienna’s hip Badeschiff ship moored closeby with a restaurant, bar and its own swimming pool.

In the passenger room it was fairly quiet. Actually, it looked like an aircraft cabin, although with three times the space and view.

Close to the border with Slovakia, the city of Hainburg appeared, followed by the ruins of Theben castle on a huge bedrock towering over the Danube. Shortly after, we Bratislava castle on the left with the city at its feet.

Inside Bratislava

Downstream, the trip took an hour and 15 minutes (upstream: an hour and a half).

Specifically, the city center with its cobble stoned pedestrian area of nice little squares and alleys with dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops was perfect for leisurely exploration.

As for the center itself, elegant 18th and 19th century architecture that was typical of the Habsburg Empire dominated the scenery. Some cafes and pharmacies still carried signage in three of the Imperial languages: German, Slovak and Hungarian.

Back on the boat, we decided for the full speed boat experience up on the sun deck. Standing on the guardrail, the strong head winds and the engine noise created that adventurous feeling of doing something really cool. That feeling grew when we whizzed past two standard danube cruise ships in seconds.

There is a direct connection between Vienna and Bratislava by the river Danube. Basically, there are two main companies, which operate on these routes; both using high-speed boats, but the time varies because of the different routes. Boats generally do not operate between October - March.

Catamaran trip from Bratislava to Wienna

You simply can't miss this catamaran trip. We sail along the Danube with superb views and cross the border of two countries in a totally different way. The staff is very good and you get information about the places you are passing by. I totally recomend.

We spent a week or so touring Austria and ending up in Bratislava.We took this cruise to Vienna and headed to the airport home.The Cruise was probably the highlight of our trip it was so well organised and comfortable that we didn't want to get off.The sights especially by Devin castle were wonderful and sitting on the top whizzing down the river was such fun.I hope i get the chance to do this trip again.

We went to Bratislava on the coach and came back by catamaran - this was definitely a highlight of the trip. You need your passport to get on as 15 minutes aboard and you cross over the Austrian border. The catamaran is very smooth sailing despite going at 50 knots - you get allocated a seat and then are free to roam around the boat and go outside and up onto the top deck. It does get very windy outside but it's great to see the passing countryside, castles and old Austrian towns as you sail back to Vienna - take about 90 minutes

This boat ride was pleasant and quick. The boat is much nicer than it looks on the outside. Recommended for an interesting way to get to Vienna.

We took the twin city liner from Vienna to Bratislava and can't fault the journey. It was efficient and comfortable and very enjoyable. Although it's not the most scenic journey it made a nice change from traveling by train and as our hotel was right opposite the landing station (Hotel Devin) this made it extra convenient for us. We bought tickets online in advance and had no problems boarding at Schwedenplatz in Vienna.

We used the Twin City Liner to travel to Vienna, having spent four days in Bratislava. It cost us 25 euros for a 10:30am departure on a Sunday - which according to conversations in the queue is significantly more expensive than a coach. However, we would say the cost is worth it on a summer day. The views leaving Bratislava then through the dense forest (with a few castles and pretty villages en route) were certainly memorable. The entry to Vienna itself was slightly underwhelming - not the grandiose entry we perhaps hoped for! However it was enjoyable to be told we've passed through an international border on a river! The boat itself offers good leg room, a 'sun roof' (windy but great to stand on for a while) and a small counter selling snacks and drinks. The staff are polite, if a little officious. For those on a medium to high budget this experience is recommended.

De Vienne à Bratislava par le Danube en 75 minutes ? C'est possible avec le Twin City Liner !

Le Twin City Liner relie la vieille ville de Vienne à la capitale slovaque Bratislava. La saison 2019 marque l'arrivée d'un nouveau Twin City Liner plus moderne, dont la conception a donné priorité au respect de l'environnement et à la réduction du bruit.

Ce catamaran de croisière peut accueillir jusqu'à 250 personnes et effectue trois allers-retours de Vienne à Bratislava par jour (un aller simple dure 75 minutes). Il est possible de réserver des places assises en première classe sur le pont supérieur et sur le pont principal . Les deux ponts offrent des stations de chargement pour téléphones portables et autres appareils électroniques, ainsi que du wifi gratuit. Le catamaran est entièrement climatisé, aménagé pour les personnes à mobilité réduite et propose un buffet. Il est possible de voyager avec un chien ou un vélo. Attention, le voyage vers la Slovaquie nécessite un document de voyage en cours de validité .

Le Twin City Liner et les bateaux de croisière DDSG sont amarrés au débarcadère Wien City entre le Marienbrücke et le Schwedenbrücke sur le Canal du Danube. Ce bâtiment à l'architecture impressionnante abrite un point de vente de billets ainsi que le « Gate to Bratislava » (un guichet d'information géré par la ville de Bratislava) et le Motto am Fluss (un café-restaurant avec grande terrasse).

Le saviez-vous ? 300 tonnes d'acier et 750 m² de verre ont été nécessaires à la construction de l'embarcadère de 127 mètres de long, 17 mètres de large et 8 mètres de haut.
