A sailing schooner is a sailing vessel with two or more masts, the foremost of which is usually the tallest. Sail schooners typically have two or more headsails, meaning they can be sailed efficiently close-hauled. The triangular knee-of-mutton sail, a schooner's primary sails, is set on the foremost mast and is usually the largest of its sails.
